To meet new people and find a gem in the middle of the city with fantastic food fed much more than my tummy—- it fed my soul! I was treated to roastings reminiscent of Hong Kong’s authentic roast kitchens! Bronzed to perfection, wonderful flavor, succulent and mouth-watering—- every single dish I tried was pure bliss—— Suckling Pig, Lechon Macau, Roasted Duck! I have not had the chance to try their Roasted Goose, because each time I try to
order, the last one had always been taken—— but I have heard raving reviews about it! I guess, it’s time I use my friend card, and get one reserved soon! Looking forward to bringing the rest of our family there, so they get treated to heaven on Earth!
Our default go to meal since they opened. Best part is they deliver now via HonestBee
Best roasting in the Philippines, not even close!
The food in the restaurant tastes really good, we ordered rice toppings, and the rice to meat ratio was balanced, although serving was quite small for its price. Their dimsum was good as well, but was oily.
Looking for truly authentic Cantonese/Hong Kong food? 8 Treasures Roasting is the place to go. They even have roast goose on their menu! Other restaurants don't have it on theirs.
Now, sadly, I didn't try their goose. It isn't available as a solo dish, but rather as a quarter, half or whole. The other roasted meat options that were available for rice toppings were the Roasted Duck, Lechon Macau, Charsiu Pork, HK Soy Chicken and HK White Chicken. I was completely torn as to what to order. I wanted to try it all, most especially the Duck. Thankfully, they did have a 3 combination option, were it's 3 kinds of meat on top of rice. My pick was the Roast Duck, Lechon Macau, and HK Soy Chicken.
Roasted Duck 🦆- Superbly succulent! The duck was no less than perfect! My fave out of everything.
Lechon Macau 🐷 - Juicy with just the right amount of fat. Nice crisp skin. ASMR anyone?
HK Soy Chicken 🐔 - Not dry at all. Easily cleaned the meat off the bone 😋.
Food: 5.0 - Super duper good!
Price: 5.0 - Affordable! I have been to other places that charge the same for lesser amounts and quality.
Service: 5.0 - Friendly, accomodating and all smiles.
Ambience: 5.0 - Clean and modern. Love it's simplicity. Let the food speak for itself.
I have been to Hong Kong several times. The roasts at 8 Treasures Roasting tastes just like the ones in Hong Kong. There's no need to travel that far. One can get authentic legit Cantonese roasts at 8 Treasures Roasting. Though, you might need to fill up your gas tank, which is easy to do since it's at a gas station 😅.
This December, offers launches their Platter which is timely this Holiday season. The protein platter is good for 8-10 persons and includes:. All 8 protein for only Php1,888. I personally love the Lechon Macau as its skin was totally crispy. The sauces on them made it all the more flavorsome. The Century Egg gave a cleaner taste. It’s creamy yolk and tender white balances all the flavor. The Goose has a depth flavor, it has a bold and gamey texture with its skin somewhat was that of a lechon.
Looking for an authentic chinese restaurant to satisfy your cravings? Then you must try this one! 8 treasures offers legit chinese food that would transport you as if you are in hongkong (they have a resident hongkong chef in their restaurant). We have tried their December platter (1,888php) which consist of (Roast chicken, White chicken, Duck, Lechon Macau, chorizo, charsiu, jellyfish + century egg) on one big platter. Their wanton soup are also good, the noodles were cooked perfectly and really complimented with the soup and its shrimp. But the highlight of our day their was their roasted goose which you can hardly find in all the restaurants here in our country. I think goose was much better than a normal chicken and duck. It's skin is crispy as if you were eating a lechon and the white meat was super tasty. My only concern was the place since it was relatively small (but they told us that they are planning to expand the place!). Really had an amazing time dining in this gem
ROASTED GOOSE - Php 1, 300 to 1, 400 (leg); Php 2, 400 (half); Php 4, 500 (whole)
This restaurant offers something that even Kam's Roast was not able to provide: ROASTED GOOSE! And thanks to the gifted hands of Hong Kong Chef Sammy Wong, 8 Treasures Roasting delivers it in a way that's perfectly cooked. The goose skin is crispy---legit lechon skin level of crispy---with the right amount of goose fat attached to it which gives the skin a rich caramelized taste. It balances well with the deep flavor of the goose meat.
Roasted Goose is now available every weekend!
CENTURY EGG - Php 180 (2 pcs.)
They make their own century egg here and boy, do they make it well! Unlike those usually served in Chinese restaurants, theirs has a soft and milky center without the "lansa." Insofar as the yolk is concerned, one can dub it as the "soft poached" version for century eggs.
presenting 8 treasures’ December platter! for just 1,888 php, y’all get to taste their best-sellers:
(the platter is the one placed in the big plate)
roast chicken, white chicken, duck, lechon macau, charsiu, chorizo, jellyfish + century egg.
***BTW, the century egg here is by far the BEST ive ever tasted! it’s got a cleaner flavor, creamy and silky yolk and a gelatinously soft white- more like a blackish amber because of the process the egg went through just to be called a century egg 😹
this platter is one way for your crew to have a bite of all the good things 8 Treasures has to offer.
apart from it, they also have a 3-combination rice bowl - if you feel like being selfish and just have it all to yourself, you can choose from one to three proteins that your mood feels like devouring.
ALERT! when it’s available, DO GET THE goose! it’s got a depth of flavor, gamey but yummy and the skin is thin and crunchy, a lechon-like feel. Amaze-balls i tell yah!
as for their wonton soup, their noodles are hand-and-freshly-made daily and when you get to biting that wonton, that big piece of shrimp aint shy to say ‘hi’.
***PS: they have this szechuan pickle as a appetizer and its oooh sooo goood! it’s got the consistency of sayote, but it’s not, or raw papaya, but again it aint. yet it’s addictingly delish w/ enough of a kick to replace your lip-plumper.
I was not aware that there is a humble restaurant in this area that serves Goose and great tasting offerings such as Asado, Duck, Lechon Macau and a lot more.
Ambiance- 4.5/5.0
The place is a bit small but good thing they can cater to a lot of people already -- dine in or take out, they can accommodate you. There is also a parking available, so it is not a problem at all. But, I asked if they will expend and I was told yes, so I am actually excited because it means a bigger space.
Service - 4.5/5.0
The servers are really attentive when it comes to making sure that the customers do have water or sauce of the food and utensils as well, however, they lack the smile and confidence when it comes to serving the food.
Food - 5.0/5.0
I got to try the following:Roasted Goose
- The Roasted Goose was done well and excellently, the meat was tender and at the same time, flavorful. For its price, this is a great steal. Tip: If you are in groups, just order a large serving of this and order plain rice, and you have a sumptuous lunch.
Three Combination Rice Meal
- You can combine meats of your choice to try it all. And I loved all of the meats because they are all well roasted/cooked. My favorite among the meat is actually the Lechon Macau because the skin is so crispy while its meat is not too oily.
Would come back here for my lunch whenever I am in the area.
Satisfied my roast duck craving. Orders it for take out and it was fast service. It is a bit pricey but quality is good... would go back on a weekend to avoid traffic
It wasn’t easy locating this place as it can get tricky if you’re not familiar with this area in Makati. I didn’t notice any obvious sign too leading to the roast shop — which is what we liked too. But that didn’t matter because our lunch experience was superb! All that we ordered were simply delicious especially the roasted duck.
Ambiance is great, a bit intimate because of the space. It can get crowded.
We got the roasted duck, charsiu pork, chicken feet, lechon Macau, beef brisket and ox tendon soup and pickles! All for 2 diners! We didn’t mind though. We will be back to try the other dishes soon.
Had lunch with a visiting guest. The place is small, but was informed that they will be expanding. We ordered the Charsiu Pork Rice, Lechon Macao & Charsiu Combo, HK Soy Chicken Rice, and HK Sausage. Service was fast. Staff were friendly and efficient. Taste was good. Price is slightly high.
Okay this place is pricier than other Chinese roasting places but now I know why. I ordered the 3 meat combination rice topping and chose roast duck, soy chicken and lechon macau. First bite pa lang ng roast duck and I was 😮😮😮 OMG flavor bomb. The soy chicken was also good but then they only gave me 3.5 pieces ? I really was scratching my head at that, but then I also had some extra duck slices sa ilalim - not sure if standard serving or they gave me extra because wala nang soy chicken? So, okay, at least di ako nabitin coz dude this meal was 360. Lechon macau was good too but I feel you can have it better elsewhere. My 3 meat combination rice meal came with what seemed like plum sauce, scallion oil and a mustard type sauce. I did take out and it was pretty quick, besides their place is kinda small so better eat at offpeak hours if you wanna dine in. Sayang walang goose when I came in but it seems it's not a daily thing or I dunno naubusan kagad?
What an unlikely place to get Cantonese cuisine! Very surprised that they serve goose as not many restaurants offer it (even Kam's Roast here doesn't offer it at the time of this writing).
The roast goose was above what I expected. Surprisingly, the meat was cooked just right to achieve a tender but juicy bite. This is characteristic makes this this a stand out from others as most goose offered here are very rubbery and hard to chew. The entire dish is filled with sauce (and oil) as they add their own sauce on top of the natural oils and juices of the goose. I would recommend removing excess oil that will float on top first before topping the goose over rice. One thing to note when ordering in large portions, expect to get uneven portions; some of the cuts had thick fatty portions while some parts only had skin and bone. This is normal when you order big portions but still worth noting.
On the other hand, the char siu had a very good balance of meat and fat on each cut for our medium-sized order. This had much less sauce than the goose and had just the right amount of sauce. I found the sauce to be where most of the taste draws from instead of from the pork itself which gave it a mild impact rather than a strong tasteful impact to the tastebuds.
The biggest issues I have with the place is the price for the bigger-sized orders; it's too steep to become a regular of the place, in spite of quality of the food. Regardless, I can safely say that i'll come back whenever I'm craving for Cantonese food.
I went here on a Sunday with my boyfriend and it just opened and it was full. The place is pretty small too and it's such a hidden gem inside the Petron Gas Station. That gas station was so fancy it even had Va Bene, UCC and Karen's Kitchen (the cakes here are amaaaazziinnggg). Anyway, the place is pretty small. I heard it was like a 20-seater. You can see their roasted ducks, chickens, and the lechon macau hanging from their side of the kitchen. It's really a wonderful sight since you can see them slicing all that juicy meat. We had our food to go since it was really full at that time. We had the roast duck, the lechon macau and the soy chicken. The roast duck was pretty good! Super juicy too. :) the soy chicken was amaazinngg. It's so tender and not a single dry spot there. It's all juicy and the skin was amazing. The lechon macau was sooo good too. It's fatty in a beautiful kind of way. The sauce they drizzle the rice with is a great soy-based sauce and it's not sweet. And for me that's pretty refreshing. I just love this place. It is a must try and it's one of my favorites around Manila. The price isn't too bad either. :)
Everything we ordered was excellent. I cannot wait to try the goose next. I took my Dad and he loved the food as he is a big roested food fan.
It's a bit hard to keep track of restaurants you want to try out these days. But thanks to the power of social media, I was able to discover this small and humble restaurant that came into my mind when I suddenly craved for roast meats. 8 Treasures is a Hong Kong restaurant located at the Petron station near Dasmarinas village's EDSA gate. The restaurant offers roast specials and other famous Hong Kong dishes.
