Tao Yuan Seafood Restaurant Cebu is about 3km away in Amaia Steps Mandaue
The food, especially my favorite Laksa has an authentic Singapore taste!
Used to get intimidated by Tao Yuan branch in Resorts World. Looks pricey, too. Was surprised to see this branch in Lucky Chinatown Mall which offers a dimsum promo of 50% off from 2-5pm. We ordered the following:
Siomai - huge siomai pieces with whole shrimp as topping
Ham Soy Kok - generous filling of minced pork in fried glutinous rice ball
Pan-fried Vegetable and Pork Bun - big pork patty as filling. Reminds me of my favorite Fried Siopao in Ongpin.
Chicken Feet - Best chicken feet I have tasted. They are huge!
Asado Bun - very fillinh and tasty asado filling in soft siopao dough
Hakaw - glossy wrapper with huge shrimps as filling
Beancurd Roll - very meaty and not much extender
I ended up ordering another tray of Siomai even after the promo period because I really loved it.
There are 2 things that kept me from giving them a 5-star: the bland Avocado Shake, and the not too friendly staff.
This restaurant is expensive, but for the taste, you get what you pay for. But, well, it’s better when it’s on promo. 😁
As always there shabu shabu is the best in town... the waiters and wait staff are quick and excellent. Try the pata tim and special fried rice...
Pricey but cozy 👌🏻👌🏻 One of the best Chinese Restaurant in Malate. Been here many times and the tastes never gets old. A must try!🤗 #foodie #foodgasm
Good food. Garlic Crab was the best (no photo though...)
Cold cuts
Mango sago
Let me just say I ate the best Hainanese chicken. It wasn't dine in though, just pick up. The sauces were really to die for. I have checked out the reviews of the restaurant and where the branches are. It is so good, I'm imagining eating it again!
The best top notch fine dining level Singaporean Chinese restaurant in Metro Manila! The food is very food and very tasty. We always order the staple hainanese chicken with hainanese chicken rice and the laksa whenever we eat here. We also like the cereal prawn and the chili crab. The free boiled peanuts given while waiting for your orders is also very good.
Singaporean food can get a bit oily if cooked really tasty but it's really very good and really is quite distinct from the other Chinese food in Metro Manila.
Being in this original Tao yuen is excitement for me. I will mainly focus on the hainanese chicken because that is their signature dish. I would say it's the best for me. Tender , yes. Flavorful , yes. Chunky , yes , both in look & taste. I look for this chunkiness which is missing in most hainanese chicken served in the metro. As my old chinese friends would say, reminiscent of the native chicken in the olden days . You buy it live, you blow into the chicken ass , THAT yellowish fat ass will determine the quality of chicken when cooked....... Very fat- illy gooood!!!!! Tao yuen hainanese is my choice!!!!
Love love love their Singaporean Chili Crab! The best Ive tasted in Metro Manila.
Pair it with their steamed or fried buns. Perfect with their Hainanese Chicken as well.
Their lechon macau is not that special though.
Only tried their shabu shabu... The restaurant has a good feel... Good food as well... Staff is very accomodating... We usually dine here whenever the team needs some unwinding... Still moving shrimps pierced by bbq sticks is a brutal yummy sight...
This is one of our go-to Chinese restaurants. Food is really good, but its kinda pricey though.
The Lechon Kawali is a must try! The skin is really crispy and the meat is really soft. It isn't too oily and either and is cooked just right.
Another dish that you should try is the Simon-Style Steamed Fish. I don't think this is on the menu and I don't even know how we came to know about it, but my grandfather ordered it for CNY and it is hella good.
They Hainanese Chicken had a generous amount of serving considering that we only ordered half portion size.
We ordered too much food and had to take home the Cha Misua and for some reason, it tastes better when reheated.
It isn't included in the picture, but another must try dish is the Crab Rice. It kinda takes long to cook so its better to order this in advance or when you aren't in a hurry or that hungry yet. All I can say is that its worth the wait. They also give hand gloves if you don't want to get your hands dirty.
All in all, its a good restaurant. They also have dimsum and shabu-shabu if you don't feel like eating ala carte ????
This is the best Tao Yuan branch. My experience with the others was so-so. I liked their chili crab, though still not at par with the authentic ones in Singapore. I did not like their hainanese chicken rice. Wee Nam Kee and Boon Tong Kee serve better versions. The version in Your Local is the best for me. If you order laksa, make sure it's the head chef (I forget his name. I think he's Singaporean) himself that prepares it. Otherwise, avoid ordering it.

What's not to love about Tao Yuen?
Great Singaporean food has found a home here, as they serve a rockin' Hainanese Chicken, Cereal prawns (150 a piece), Fish Head Curry (have lots of rice ready) and Bak Kut Teh. If you love shabu-shabu or hotpot, their version is good although a bit expensive, but it is true to the flavor as there are spareribs in your soup and it is not just soup stock. From balls to dumplings, everything's spot on delectable. Parking at their Malate branch is at the lot nearby, expect a lot of customers and diners. You might be lost in their menu if it's your first time. If you came here for the food, you won't be disappointed.
