Always a pleasure to eat in this quaint but fantastic restaurant!!! The uni sashimi is excellent. The mixed tempura, satisfying. All comes with freshly prepared wasabi. Oishi as Oishi can be!!!
This hidden Japanese gem has become our favorite place for Japanese food. It’s a tiny family-run restaurant that gives off the same vibe as some of the places we’ve dined at in Japan. The way they prepare dishes are very traditional which lends a lot to highlight the quality of ingredients that they use. The only thing inherently Filipino here is the service - the servers have that usual warmth (and obnoxiously loud greetings) that you can expect from service teams here. Great experience, great food.
This is one of our favorite Japanese Restuarants.
Their fish is very fresh. I also love their hot dishes, especially their tempura. The wait staff are also friendly & attentive
One of the greatest secrets in BGC. This hole in the wall restau serves great sushi. Their head chef is an old Japanese grandpa who always greets the customers.
My go-to japanese resto in BGC. Excellent sashimi and hot pot. They also recently started serving take out bento boxes which are delicious at a great price of 150 php per bento!!
I loved that they serve warm cloth for customers. I loved their Ramen, for me their Shoyu Ramen has the best taste. I also liked that their Japanese chef (owner?) is very hands-on and he even chats with their customers. He even gave us the, I'm not sure what's called, tamago that has a nice sweet taste.
Only thing we didn't like much is their Onigiri, the taste is a little bland compared to the one in Tateyama.
So far this restaurant have the best sushi and sashimi I have ever taste in the Philippines, made from the fresh ingredients and nice sushi chef. Recommended authentic Japanese restaurant!
I thought there was no good Jap restaurant in BGC except for Ooma. Apparently, i never realized that Burgos Circle is also part of BGC. Haha.
Keizo is a small resto along the strip near Bellagio. I ordered their ramen, and it was good! I also ordered Kani salad, which had a generous amount of Kani... the real kani salad. Other restos would just serve salad with a little bit of kani, and call it Kani salad.
Their house tea was also good. And servers were very polite.
The only thing that i didnt like was the restroom. Because it’s a small resto, the women’s and men’s restrooms are shared. And when i used it, it wasn’t that clean. It had a bit of a pungent smell because the toilet was very near the urinal. But at least there was tissue and soap. :) sorry i had to include this my review. Sometimes it plays a factor in the “overall experience”. :)
I love their ambiance specially the food, very modern and the employees are very approachable, so with owner at first I was shock I thought he was a customer, he welcome all of us. The food was very delicious i feel like i was in Japan.
This is a little Japanese spot that I have come to like! It is owned and run by a Japanese chef who seems to be almost always smiling. The place definitely has a mom and pop's shop appeal. It feels homey. That said it gets pretty packed during lunch and dinner time, so I suggest you book a table before coming here.
Not pictured here is the Chef's Special Beef Curry that has been my favorite dish when I dine at Keizo. Out of all the curries I have tried here in Manila, it has the deepest flavor. The beef is also served tender. It has definitely become my comfort food. However, in my recent visit the flavor was different from the one I have grown to love. But since I have had it several times, I have come to terms with myself that maybe that was just a bad batch. I will definitely try and check it out next time.
Without my beef curry, I decided to have yet another favorite of mine, Spicy Tuna Salad with flakes. The salad is priced at 400PHP but with all the bits of fresh tuna enough to fill you on its own, I say it's worth it. You also have the option of adding more flakes to balance the texture with that of the soft tuna. This salad is definitely worth coming back for.
Lastly, as I thought just the salad won't satisfy me, I decided to have one yakitori. It took sometime for it to be made and served. Once it arrived, I was immediately taken by its yummy smell. I opted to get the shio (salt) flavor for my chicken, and every decent-sized portion was delicious!
Keizo is definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants I have had the pleasure of eating at! Apparently, the owner and chef used to be the head chef at a renowned hotel in the metro. The standards he mustve had back in his head-chef days have carried over to his own restaurant, as the quality of his food is o u t s t a n d i n g! I dont even mind the prices of the food, because i know i am getting what i am paying for.
I highly recommend the sashimi! So fresh!
I love the ambiance and the service! Went here with my relatives and some family friends after church and we loved it! Especially the one on the sticks which I forgot the name but it was superb! I wish we could go back to eat dinner again.
I thought I'd written a review for good ol' Keizo already. This is the nearest refuge of authentic Japanese cuisine for me, while it's certainly not going to break the bank, it ain't T-Boy cheap, either. But it's in my hood and it's my own tiny piece of Japanese heaven.
Rating it 4.5 stars for the awesomely off menu Seafood Ramen. It's not aligned to my usual rich, flavorful ramen, in fact it's got a basic retro-just-right salty broth, but daaaaaayyyyyyyyyymmmmmmm! Super daming seafood in it. Salmon, prawns, squid, tuna, yowza! At P500, for me, this is quality stuff. The noodles are okay, more of the traditional stuff of Ukkokei, instant noodle-like, but it doesn't matter. It was a great and simple seafood Ramen, no frills, but all of those seafood on top made this a fabulous experience.
Generally, across all my dining here, it's generally a 4/5 but this Ramen was a pleasant surprise. Just good broth and lots of seafood!
I've tried their sashimi, usually plump and fresh. I've had some of their makimono's, they're okay, but not quite as satisfying as Omakase's. Had a few of their Donburi's like the Katsudon in the picture. Good stuff. Service generally very reliable and friendly. The resto's seen better days, ambience wise, and I'm not fond of how their staff sleep in the resto in the afternoon in full sight from the outside (hehe, it's walking distance so I pass this a lot). But at lunch and at night, you'll not notice that anyway. Lol.
Great Burgos Circle option for simple and authentic Japanese cuisine. Others are too fancy, and their Keizo Gastropub counterpart nearby isn't quite up to par (and I don't get why the two restos near each other), but when you're craving for quality Japanese that's simple & straight to the point, in BGC, look no further than Keizo in Kensington Place, Burgos Circle. Dunno if you can park at the condo, but I guess you can try. Otherwise there are parking options nearby at Forbestown and across Bonifacio Technology Center.
It was the most expensive lunch i have ever paid for.
But it was worth it. Fresh Uni Sashimi - as yellow as the sun outside during that hot Monday Morning.
Yum 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

The Wagyu on sticks is such a delight to the taste buds, whew! Well-marinated and tenderly grilled to perfection! Can't help but to groan at each bite out of toothsome pleasure hehe! Another delectable dish is the hefty Katsudon, which was freshly cooked with that savouring sweetness. Their shredded beef rice topping called Gyu Shigure Don could have been a great dish, except that it was much loaded with ginger strips which affected the taste. Anyway, I had a busog moment indeed. Reasonable prices based on the dishes' delicious taste and hefty serving.
Simple interiors with cozy ambiance make up this cool resto. 😋
Spot on.
Small quaint corner of Burgos Circle. The katsudon set was enough for 2 sharing.
The unagi maki was well-crafted. The rice held it's shape, bland frame cradling the piece of unagi. The fish contained the distinct hint of eel, but torching brought out a sweet smokey flavor that masked all fishy taste. No dip required
If you want authentic Japanese food, Keizo got it right on spot. Their miso is the best miso soup ever, the gyoza, seriously never miss a heartbeat. Their udon, ugh... Love it. They serve fresh sushi and sashimi, for sure! And Yoshi is such a darling!
Everything in this restaurant is just so good! I can't believe it took me months to finally eat at this unassuming place. The Japanese Man has been asking me for weeks, and so one night I agreed.
Upon ordering, they serve you complimentary otoshi (which is so yummy, by the way, really gets your appetite going). For starters, we had kappa maki, dashi tamago yaki, and nasu nibitashi. For mains, I ordered yasai tempura teishoku set, which was not in the menu but I added Php140 to get the set, while the Man ordered unidon that came with a complimentary miso soup. When the yasai tempura plate came out I was absolutely surprised with the huge serving size! Same with the unidon, which for the price is quite a bargain! Needless to say, everything was so delicious.
For dessert, instead of two scoops of ice cream, I ordered the small tub for take-away. There were a lot of delicious flavors, such as wasabi light, miso sake, green tea, blue cheese, and butter cream, but I decided on the seaweed ice cream (Php300). It had bits of nori on top and was so good, weirdly good!
After eating, we were stopped by the friendly, chain-smoking, Visayan- and Tagalog-speaking Japanese chef, Yoshi (or Yasu, the Man can't remember his name hehe). They talked for a good ten minutes before finally deciding to say oyasuminasai. Great service, good food, reasonable prices. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. Definitely coming back to this place!
My boyfriend and I always get salmon, hamachi, and saba sushi. The sushi rice is really good and the fish taste very fresh. For the quality you're getting, the price is ok. The keizo roll (California maki topped with more kani, tempura batter bits, and Japanese mayo) is one of their best sellers. I'd go here for the sushi more than for the other food items on the menu. I've tried their tempura, katsudon, and curry as well. I enjoyed the curry the most out of those 3.
Go here if you want one of the best if not the best sushi in BGC.
I advise you to sit at the bar so you can watch the chef prepare your sushi. The owner is quite pleasant and usually checks in with customers.
Try to go outside of the usual tuna and salmon sushis and try the other nigiri they have available (Saba is quite good, Toro is seasonal). This is why they offer their nigiri on a per piece basis so you get to have diversity in your meal. Also dont dunk their sushi in soy sauce (nor mix your wasabi in the soy sauce) and in my experience the amount of wasabi they already incorporate in the nigiri is perfect.
Very fresh, great tasting sushi!
Awesome food here as always. I've ordered several bento sets and
Undoubtedly, the cuisine that I have been enjoying lately is Japanese cuisine! I am not quite certain why, but I really do! And this japs resto came next to my list. I so love the authentic taste of japs food, i must say that this is one of the most legit japs restos here in metro manila. The food is great, quite authentic, or I must say a really genuine japs because the owner is the chef and the chef is a japanese! Lol! The service is commendable, they have very energetic staff! I will absolutely come back for more:)
Keizo. Houses one of the friendliest Japanese chefs in town. Not a flashy or pretentious resto in the bevy of posh burgos circle restos. Consistently serves quality fresh food (coz I always order sashimi platter). Kinda expensive but I'll pay extra for exclusivity and good service.
I noticed this place in burgos circle one night. I said notice because the place is doesn't really stand out compare with other modern looking restaurant place there. While looking for different dinner place, i was kind of afraid to try new risky places plus i was in the mood to eat rice, so me and boyfriend ended up going to another japanese restaurant which is Keizo *to eat safe*.
the place quite small, but it has some home-y welcoming feeling. one old japanese guy sat near the counter which apparently the chef who's taking break while asking feedback from the customers.
i ordered the tori karaage set that comes with miso soup, while boyfriend got the beef curry, and i was wanting to try the ramen but since my boyfriend afraid that he's too full, we ended up ordering the spicy salmon maki.
the tori karaage is really good, compare to what i had in izakaya kikufuji while the curry beef had this hint of sweet but spicy after taste and the beef meat are tender and easy to chew. what different is the spicy salmon maki, indeed it's salmon sashimi with maki and tempura bits, but somehow they put a different chili sauce giving it a sweet and spicy taste. i found it different since i was eating spicy salmon maki for 3 days in a row and this one gave different kind of sensation. cant say i didn't like it but not really my type.
overall its good, but somehow not really special enough to left a delish mark in my stomach though.

I am a firm believer that if it ain't broke, then don't fix it - and Keizo, situated in a quiet corner of Burgos Circle is a champion of authenticity.Keizo is run by a Japanese chef from Nagoya who is often found out front chain smoking and greeting all the customers. It makes for a homely and welcoming feel. As with most Japanese Izakayas, a small complimentary dish is served giving you time to browse through the extensive menu which covers udon, soba, sushi, sashimi, ramen, teppanyaki, donburi, yakatori and much much more.My personal favourites include the teppanyaki tofu which is served with slightly sweet sauce and has a beautiful smooth texture. The beef udon is full of flavour and reminds me of my local udon spot in Tokyo. The hand rolls with shiso are very simple but very tasty. Finally, the spicy tuna and salmon sushi are excellent.Slightly disappointing are the yakitori and vegetable teppanyaki - both too greasy. Also the tako sushi can be rubbery.I always enjoy a meal at Keizo - it is my go to Japanese eatery.
The best of the best Sashimi in town! Can I score it 10??? 10 times with 10?? 4 thumbs up!
Keizo is located around Burgos Circle in Taguig but if you are not out to look for it specifically, you wont be able to find it easily. It's just a small resto near The Bellagio but in both times we visited, the place always has lots of people. Not crowded, but people definitely go out of their way to visit the place.
They serve authentic Japanese food though if you're there for Ramen, choices will be limited. I recommend their donburis, personally love the gyudon and katsudon. The donburis are a bit pricey (P320 up) but yummy. Their sushi and sashimi are also nice, and the price is just around P180 up.
I was treated to a tasty Japanese treat by a good friend of mine a month back. After not much thought we decided to visit one of his go to places for dinner, Keizo, which is a small Japanese restaurant at crescent Park BGC. The evening was cool enough to get a table outside but they were all taken by couples on dates I guess.
We were seated by one of their staff inside. The place was small so one should expect to be seated close to other guests’ tables.
We decided to go light that evening. We ordered a Yasai (vegetable) salad which was a mix of broccoli, cauliflower, white onions, thinly sliced carrots and cabbage and was served with their special soy based dressing on the side. We also got an order of Hamachi Sashimi to start off while waiting for our main course. Both dishes were delicious! The salad dressing was really good to the point that I tried to wait for the chef to go around and visit the tables so i could ask him what the mixture was made of. Not much luck there since the place was packed and the kitchen was so busy. The Hamachi Sashimi was very clean and fresh and portions were perfect.
For our main course we ordered the grilled Sake (Salmon) Head. The fish was perfectly broiled which kept it moist and tasty in the inside. It was served with a tart Ponzu sauce that complemented the somewhat sweet and delicate flavor of the salmon meat. Aside from the collar meat, the eyes, the cheeks and the lips of the Sake were not spared. This was a perfect meal to have with a cold glass of San Miguel Pale Pilsen.
This for me was a perfect meal if you wanted something light and enjoyable. I am sure the the other items they have on their menu are good too. I am looking forward to the next time I am at BGC so I could try them.
I give this place 4 stars for quality, freshness, authenticity and flavor.

When I have a hankering for sashimi, Keizo's the default choice. You can't go wrong with any of their sashimi. It always tastes fresh and clean. Don't spoil it by dousing it with soy sauce. Just a light touch will let the fish and all its flavors take center stage.
They serve the best appetizers. There was one time we had some sort of braised fish which was so good that I had to ask the waitress if I could order it. They didn't accept my order but gave us the equivalent of one for free.
Curry is also very good in Keizo. I once had the misfortune to discover that when Mr. Keizo's not around, curry's not available because he's the one that personally prepares it. It's a good thing he's there almost every night as this is one of the best Japanese curries that you can get.
When it comes to tempura, I'd still prefer to go to Jozukin which is just across the roundabout. But for sashimi and curry, Keizo is still my default choice.
Awesome food..fresh ingredients.. Authentic Japanese resto.
