What we ordered:
Fried Rice w/ Chicken Chop & Egg
Truffle & Pork Xiao Long Bao
Noodles w/ Pork Chop
What we liked:Β
Shi Lin's Xiao Long Bao does not disappoint for those who need quick fixes outside Binondo restaurants and food stalls. The pork chop noodels and fried rice w/ chicken and egg are also must-haves as main course, as Shi Lin offers tasty meat selections that can go well with either rice or noodles.
Food is pretty good. The classic xiao long bao tastes better than the other variants so make sure to order the 10pc dish. The prawn cheese sticks were delicious, too. Plus we didnβt have to wait long for the food. Definitely worth it.
Craving for Xiao Long Pao after some quick shopping led us to Shi Lin. It's been a while after my last visit but still find their Xia Long Pao delectable without any fanfare and price wise compare to some over-rated, over-priced Xia Long Pao elsewhere. Also tried their Chicken Chop rice and Century Egg/Pork congee that comes with huge servings but savourless. Quite bland but good enough to make you full π
The food is delicious, and I would definitely return for more. But I just wish they serve all the food at the same time, me and my friends went here and they served the food one at a time with at least a few minutes of intervals with each other. That was a bad experience.
They are a Zomato Gold partner though so thatβs a plus!

I just came here after buying something in divi.
I ordered the pork chop set and the hakaw.
The fried rice was good.
I loved the iced tea that comes with the set meal and the hakaw and the xiao long bao was excellent.
I especially loved their hakaw since each piece bursts with shrimp and flavors once you take a bite.
Liked the experience and will definitely come again
Xiao Long Bao was excellent! We used Zomato Gold so we had the Porkchop Noodles for FREE. Their staff were very accommodating. Will definitely come back for more XLB!
Had a comfort food here last weekend. xiao long bao and noodles with pork is a must especially on a rainy weather.
Personnel are nice and attentive.
Been wanting to try this for some time and I was so glad to spot it in Lucky Chinatown Mall when I was in the area. The food is good! My friends and I ordered the XLB, sauteΓ©d broccoli, congee and noodle soup porkchop and we all enjoyed them. The place was also clean and the wait staff were all attentive.
Good food. Good service. :) I love how they serve authentic xiao long bao. I was just shocked at first since not many of them are knowledgeable with zomatoes and they tend of gang up on you haha but over all good service. :)
After 3 hours of walking under the scorching heat of the streets of Divisoria, a-taste-of-heaven-it-is. It was so good that I forgot to take worthy photos already. It was a busy Saturday in the restaurant but the servers still manage to make our stay pleasant!

Loved their Salted Egg Squash and Pork Chop noodles. The Xiao Long Bao is delicious as well but should be a bit bigger. The servers are very friendly and courteous.
Wasn't able to take picture of their fried rice, steamed fish, congee and polunchay but overall we are very satisfied.
Xiao long bao - really like the soup base inside and their thin, smooth wrap. It didn't break easily! But the meat inside didn't have the right texture. But overall, I'm satisfied with the taste.
Fried rice - You must order this!!! Their rice is soooo yummy! Just take a look at it, and you'll know that you'll really enjoy eating it! Plus i think it's value for money. I can eat it alone,but...calories...haha. Beware, it is a bit oily.
Congee - was a bit on the salty side. But it was still good. It could serve 2 people.
Polunchay - yum yum yum. Although it is kinda pricey.
Service was good. Could use an upgrade on their interior (seats) and serving water glass.

Very accomodating staff, attentive in terms of requests or additional orders. The food we ordered are all delicious. fast service. restaurant is clean and organized.
Always a great place to enjoy xiaolongbao! I love it here. We also got the pork chop fried rice and also the braise beef noodle soup, i think both tastes great and the noodle is also just right. We also got the bokchoy vegetables and it think it is just soso.
Servers are very friendly and accommodating. They recommended food for us to try. We ordered Braised beef noodle soup and fried rice with porkchop and egg. Both are so delicious!
Good food and the pricing is not bad.
The noodles is good and warms the heart. Same vibes with Lugang Cafe but the noodles reminds me of Ling Nam. Love their jellyfish and xiao long bao too. Must try. Sayang we didnt know that it is part of Zomato gold
Tasty xiao long bao! β€οΈ staff was a little bit not attentive but the food was really good. I would totally come back here and try other dishes.
I took our Indian guest on a tour of Manila. One of our stops was the Binondo/Divisoria area and Lucky Chinatown is a good hub to scout the place with the various bargain centers, fruit stores, knick-knacks and what have you.
For lunch, we proceeded to my tried and tested Taiwanese gem, Shi Lin. An added bonus, of course is that this is a zomato gold partner restaurant.
We ordered the Taiwanese favorite Chicken Chop (P230) and got the Shrimp Fried Rice (P175) for free. We also had their best-selling 6 pc Xiao Long Bao (P170). For beverage, we had 2 mango shakes at P110 each.
Our guest enjoyed the food as much as I did and was very thankful for the discount afforded by zomato gold. The chicken was crispy. Breading was not oily but very flavorful. The rice had plump shrimp pieces which made her comment how good it was that she prefers it over biryani. Slurping the soup of the bao thru a small bitten hole was another new thing she relished. Apparently, the DFA has relaxed the requirements for Indian travelers to the Philippines for a limited time period, quite a number availed so we could expect more to arrive and experience the "wow" of the Philippines as I write this.
Went here for a lunch date. Was happy with the service and the food. Taste and flavors weren't mindblowing but it was delicious enough. Food selection was good, serving size was good, servers were attentive. Dishes were simple but cooked very well. Used zomato gold here, we ordered pork chop fried rice, broccoli, xiao long bao. Dessert menu was great, similar to what you see in dim sum restaurants in China or Taiwan. My favorite dessert is the hot almond and sesame soup.
My favorite zomato gold partner. May you continue to tie up with zomato gold to increase number of clients in your branch. Il surely visit your resto again and patronize your delicacies thru word of mouth to gain more diners in your establishment. Your tie up with zomato gold is well appreciated. Thank you!
The staff are accommodating. The ambience is nice. What was lacking is the taste and quality of food. We ordered 4 dishes. I can say they're average as compared with similarly priced Chinese restos I've been to. Still a good deal.
Awesome Xiao Long Bao's as expected, the skin did not break easily and all pieces had soup inside. the other dishes are great as well, the mapo tofu had very silky and tasty tofu, the squid was tender crispy and flavorful as well. The food are fairly priced. All in all a good experience.
Xiao long bao was a little dry but still good. I also ordered wonton noodles, it was just like your ordinary noodles from other Chinese restaurants.
I used my Zomato Gold so we payed much lesser than how much we should. Membership perks are awesome!
The staffs are attentive yet now overwhelming.
Food was great!
We had Shrimp and Egg fried rice and the other fried rice with Pork too but we prefer the Shrimp one better.
I can probably say that Iβve tasted the best Beef noodle soup of my life here. Hands down. Tender beef chunks, and flavorful both, the only downside for me is the noodles for it is quite too long and hard to eat but manageable.
Now the Xiao Long Bao was so-so, it tastes ordinary and the soup inside the dumpling lacked. I was expecting it to be fuller.
Each dish we had was enough to feed 2-3 people which is good for its price range.
Overall, Iβm excited to eat again. Good food.
Service and food was good. Xiao long bao is a must order. Fried rice is not the best. Steamed fish was good and soft enough for my grandmother. The zomato gold can be applied to the whole menu which is a plus.

β We went here last Chinese New Year so the crowd was expectedly HUGE. Not just in Shi Lin but in EVERY single restaurant. As a norm during Chinese New Year, we were initially on waiting-list. Surprisingly, we didn't wait for more than an hour to be seated. We were then given menus, a checklist and a pen for our orders. The staffs were nice and approachable and our food took a decent time to arrive. Everything we ordered is all good. Our favorites were the Xiao Long Bao and Shrimp-and-Pork Siomai which surprisingly has soup inside. The Century Egg and Jellyfish are two of our must-haves whenever we dine in Chinese restos and Shi Lin's taste good too, but the serving is really small considering the price. The Beef Soup lacks flavor but still a good starter. It's also our first time to try a Salted Egg Custard Bun and we liked it. Can't say much about the rest of our orders but they're all good and must-try's. Unfortunately, they run-out of ice that day so we weren't able to have fruit shakes and were forced to drink lukewarm water. I also think that they should use a smaller steamer basket for their dim sum because it takes too much space on the table. Overall, our stay went pleasant and we enjoyed our food.
WORTH COMING BACK TO? β
Ordered xiao long bao, hakaw, braised beef noodles, and pork chop noodles using zomato gold. Pork chop noodles and xiao long bao are as good as always! Would definitely come back for more. Service is also good. Accommodated all our inquiries regarding which items were included in the 1+1. For reference: everything is included :) they also provided a βguideβ as to how to avail the free item π
Enjoyed our late lunch eating xiao long bao and pork chop egg fried rice. Taste is soo good - reminds me of our food trip in Taiwan π
Will come back to try their other choices.
Good food . Their specialty are noodles and sio long pao. Nice apread for buy one take one dishes. Will definitely viait this resto again and again. Thank you zomato for having this resto in your list.
Itβs a good try though!
The ambiance is a bit hot.
The food is nice. Worth the price.
We tried the braised beef noodles, shrimp pork dumplings and fried rice with shredded pork, shrimp and egg.
Place/Staff: staff were nice and accommodating. Fast service. Nice ambiance.
Food: Xiao long bao (a must order) was made perfectly with thin covering and the soup intact. Hakaw has adequate shrimp and wanton cover was not too thick which was great for me. Minced pork with string beans was not salty and not oily. Shrimp wanton was a fail for me since wanton was on the thicker side and shrimp tasted as if its been stored a long time already. Spicy pork dumpling(not pictured) was a hit with he spicy sauce blending nicely with taste of the pork.
Shilin is a district in Taiwan I'm just not sure if the name of this restaurant was named after this district. After eating at Din Tai Fung I had cravings for Taiwanese food so I decided to try a different Taiwanese restaurant and I bumped into this one. I've ordered Hakaw for my appetizer for main course I've ordered Fried Rice With Chicken Chops and my all time favorite Sweet and Sour Pork and Spicy Shirmp and Deep Fried Asado Bun . The taste of the food was mouthwatering that I had to ask the waiter for a spoon and fork haha so I can enjoy eating . I so love their soysauce than Din Tai Fung. My new favorite is their Deep Fried Asado Bun the bun was filled with meat so yummy. The price is affordable. The food is so good. It's an orgasmic experience haha. To my next visit I want to try their Xiao Long Bao and their Choco Nutella Dumpling and their Taro Dumpling . Another food therapy for me .Good food refuels my sad soul hehe another happy tummy again.
Shi Lin has got to be my go-to Chinese resto, especially when it comes to my salt & pepper squid craving! I love it and itβs definitely the dish I order whenever I visit (and also one I had delivered via FoodPanda the other day. my craving for their salt & pepper squid was that intense lol.) I donβt really like their noodles though as I find them bland. Pork bun is just okay, and their XLB is also pretty good. Asado bun with condensed milk is also one of my fave dishes here.
Ambience is just so-so, service can be a hit or miss sometimes too. Can be a bit pricey but I think itβs worth it as quality of food (at least for their squid!) is superb.
I used to not like Chinese food. Pero my partner does. And super happy ako that the 1st Chinese food experience we had, was in this restaurant. I love the spicy jellyfish. Umulit pa kami when we knew meron pala dito sa south sa Alabang Town Center. Authentic yung taste and worth it for the price.
Everything we ordered were spectacular! From the congee, to the pork and shrimp wanton noodles, to the xiao long bao, to the fried mantao, to the pork chop fried rice, and the iced Taiwan milk tea. Large servings too so you'll really get value for your money. Great customer service too. All in all an excellent dining experience.
For me its the best xiao long bao so far! I am just so hooked with it plus their taro dumpling! I can finish until 3 orders each when im alone. (Being with gf is another story) Try it! Best after tiring divisoria shopping and adventures! Lucky chinatown is the place for this haven! π
Saw the chance for another Shi Lin visit when I drove my mom to Divisoria!π Wish granted! Three of us had a very late lunch here the other day, a much needed break from shopping...π
I did all the ordering, perks of being the driver... Yey! Got the XLB, forever staple in Shi Lin- both original and black truffle variants; the pork chop with fried rice and the bok choy...
Among the two XLB flavors, all of us preferred the original... The black truffle was a good pairing but it's so flavorful on its own that the truffle flavor kind of detracts from the taste... Plus it's more expensive, so there...π Their pork chop with fried rice was likewise good! And the bok choy was one of those dishes that seem simple enough, but difficult to execute... I can never get it right myself, feeling chef lang...π very subtle flavor!
Service was fast and efficient!
It was accidental when I discovered the place, was supposed to go to the other restaurant yet the ambiance didn't satisfy me. So, I move here. We tried different foods but the Braised beef noodle soup is too die for. I really love it and will definitely go back for more.
Restaurant was pleasing and quiet. Food was okay. For the price that we paid the food was prbably worth it. The dumplings ate made in the site and you can see the chefs making them as you eat.
The major let down of this restaurant is their customer service. I asked for a fork and got iced water instead and the waiters are hard to find or call upon as they seem to just disappear.
We ordered their century egg and noodles. I just forgot the name. To be fair, their Xiao Long Bao is love!! π
The place yeah is a bit dark. Friendly staff. Authentic chinese food. Affordable food.
Tried their salt & pepper squid, chicken chop and forgot to take a photo of their braised beef noodles.
I love their salt & pepper squid and definitely something that I look forward to coming back to! Chicken chop was just okay for me, too bland. I'm also not a fan of the breading they used. Beef noodles were just okay.
Service was alright and ambiance was nice, though place may be a bit dark.

Authentic chinese food on a very affordable price!!
We ordered these two dishes which is already good for two people. Very generous serving. I must also say Hakaw is very well done. Try it for yourself.
Giving them only a 4.5 because of the temperature of the place when we went there. Very warm.
Fast service and authentic Chinese food! Taste is never compromised on how quick their meals are prepared. Try their salted egg prawns and spicy spareribs! Love their century egg also.

First tried this because of the vouchers we bought from Metrodeal (pay 50% less than the actual monetary value). I read some reviews about it, and found that they top some of the list of the best Xiao Long Bao (dumplings with broth inside) in Manila! Upon trying it, the gingery taste of the broth and the mix of black vinegar onto it was very satisfying, you'll surely devour more! But you have to be careful because they serve these to you right after steaming it, making the inside VERY HOT. Though the only downside of their famous xiao long bao is that amount of soup inside was less generous that Lugang's. Price is cheaper though and you can order either 5 or 10 pieces. They also have variations like truffle xiao long bao and crab fat xiao long bao. Their braised beef noodles tasted like authentic noodles I was very fond of back when I went to China for a study tour. The familiar scent of chinese spices made the dish very flavourful yet not overpowering. Their double boiled chicken soup and noodles was very pure and natural (reminded me of the soup my grandma used to make for us during special occasions). Their porkchop also was very tender and the five spice was just perfectly sprinkled onto it making it more noteworthy. If you want authentic chinese noodles and dumplings and hongjong porkchop, this is a must visit! I'll definitely go back here and never get tired of their dishes!
Food is generally good with only a few misses. Their classic XLB was just ok but what I really appreciated about theirs is that all their XLBs had soup in them, unlike others offered by other Taiwanese restos. Shi Lin seems to have perfected the process in making "leak-free" XLBs Β :) Β Their spicy shrimp & veggie dumplings were so-so on the other hand. These were bland-tasting and the spice was nowhere to be found (you can tell by the photo alone). All other restos we've had this had a spicy red sauce in it. Their pork and shrimp fried rice was nice except that their rice could be softer and fluffier. Theirs felt a tad too hard. The steamed fish fillet was absolutely perfect. Very soft, perfectly steamed with a sweetish sauce, and oh so fresh and tender. This is a must-order for us. Likewise for the Taiwan spinach which was really good. Overall a pleasant experience which we can return to.
Shi Lin is a place in taipei, taiwan but there's no Shi lin resto in that area or in taiwan or maybe they use other names. We ordered double boiled beef soup with noodles, double boiled chicken noodles soup, spicy jelly fish, stir fry spinach, fried rice with chicken chop, porkchop with fried rice, shrimp fried rice and our favorite the fried asado bun. All the food was good but for us we go to shi lin for their fried asado bun its a must try!!!well the place is ok, the service is abit owkward the they our order with out writing down i guest she did memorize all but when we are nearly done eating my child food was not yet serve so i ask the server she told me i didnt order it, so im bit frustrated coz she repeated my order well i didnt argue i just told her to add it. I already read bad review about shi lin in this branch, we've tried other branches not the same, for a resto with a higher prices for food they should improve, but still we enjoy our food.
Located at The Lucky Chinatown Mall. It is quite visible as the place is located ground floor. I went with my siblings and mother. We had their xiao long Bao, fried rice, shaomai, century egg, bokchoy, fried squid, spareribs, custard bun, and Hot & Sour Soup.
Most of their food are good notably their steamed food. However I just did not like their fried squid, as this contained too much powders. Everything else is fine. π
They have the best fried siopao that I have ever tasted. Who knew that asado and condensed milk taste so well together? The Xiao Long Bao is one of the best too.
We wanted to try out a new Chinese restaurant during our trip to Binondo, so we had lunch atΒ Shi Lin. I heard that they serve pretty tasty noodles and they also had some great reviews in Zomato. Little did we know that they actually have branches everywhere - a critical mistake since we wanted to eat somewhere special.
It is my first time to try his place. Try their xiao long bao!! Never miss to order this if you come here. They also have good service and good ambiance.
When at Shi Lin, Xiao Long Bao is a must order for us. This time we ordered Beef Noodles and Congee. Their beef is a little bit spicy with a strong taste of Chinese herb. For dessert, we usually order Hot Almond Cream with Sesame Balls. They do not serve free hot tea unlike other restaurants because they offer organic teas.
We drove ourselves into Binondo with the help of Waze, aiming for hand pulled noodles at Lucky Chinatown, but our favorite venue was full, so we parked in Shi Lin. It could well be because visitors favor mainland China cuisine when they're in this area, whereas Shi Lin is firmly Taiwanese.
We had a six-piece order of xiao long bao soup dumplings, one double boiled chicken noodle soup, and one noodle soup with Taiwan-style pork cutlets, as well as two tall tumblers of infused tea.
I don't know what charmed me more - Shi Lin's functional yet comfy modern red and white interiors, the flourish of their noodle service, or the quiet artistry of their dumplings, served piping hot in their bamboo steamer.
My noodles were in a big bowl, separate from the pristine chicken broth and chicken meat; the broth was lean and uncomplicated.
The Taiwan pork cutlet with the other noodle had the signature cumin and five-spice flavoring, which my friend really enjoyed.
We liked our dumplings so much that we also ordered steamed dumplings for dessert. We asked for three dumplings with taro and three with sesame. Another huge hit.
Taiwan pop alternates with classic instrumental music. Overall, eating at Shi Lin that afternoon was a cozy experience I'm hoping to repeat.
Shi-lin offers good taiwanese food. We ordered the xiao long bao and it was great.but i just didnt like the dead flies beside my seat.. It's kinda unappetizing to eat with dead flies around.
This Shi Lin branch has a nicer interior than the BGC branch. Food quality is comparable and the service is good. Their xiao long bao is really a must try. I'd say it's the best in town with its reasonable price. We tried their shrimp and egg fried rice, taiwanese spinach, fried chicken chop and taro dumpling. For me, the red bean dumplings are better. I highly recommend this place Β for those who love dimsum and noodles.
Their taro dumplings are really one of my favorites. The braised beef soup is so smooth and tasty with that hint of kick at the end which makes you want to slurp the whole bowl without leaving a drop behind. Although the beef itself was a bit tough and difficult to chew. We also had their Spinach dish and it was perfectly seasoned. Overall, the dishes served were satisfying. π
We wanted to try out a new Chinese restaurant so we had lunch in Shi Lin. I heard that they serve pretty tasty noodles and they also had some great reviews here in Zomato.
We had the spicy vegetable & minced pork dumpling (Php 185) and the sauce blew me away. It was good! I suggest you try it.
We also had two noodles, the Braised Beef Noodles (Php 295) and the Noodles with Vegetables and Pork Wonton (Php 185).
There was nothing extraordinary with both noodles. I personally prefer the braised beef noodles because it had more flavor and had some bite to it. The Pork Wonton, however, has beauty in its simplicity. I loved the firmness of the noodles for both bowls of soup.
The service was slow and the staff wasn't attentive even though the place wasn't packed for Sunday lunch. This factored in to the low score in service along with the lack of free house tea (you have to pay Php 40 for house tea). It is normally offered free in Chinese restaurants and it really surprised me that Shi Lin did not.
The ambiance was very convenient since it was located in Lucky Chinatown Mall. The place was nice, air-conditioned, and had great ambiance. Definitely the best part of the experience.
Food Quality: 3.5
Service: 2.5

Shi Lin has branches everywhere, but if you're near Binondo I suggest you dine in Binondo's other gems for quality Chinese food. You can get better for a lower price.
Cheers,
Chef Jay
Yummy xiao long bao! Just be careful since this is really served hot as mentioned in the little instruction note on the table. Guess we were too hungry and excited to eat so even when cautioned by our most helpful waitress, we did not pay attention to it. The fried rice with pork chop is good for two. You can request for a sweet and sour sauce for it, but I preferred the ginger/soy sauce/black vinegar dip. For dessert, red bean and taro dimsum. Yum, yum!!!
Xiao long bao! That's the best seller. They have big servings too. Dont foget the house tea. Dont worry about long lines. Cozy place. Good customer service.

Shi Lin could just be like one of those Chinese restaurants you've tried with its ordinary ambiance and service, but you might just enjoy some of the uncommon or even unique dishes this restaurant can offer such as the Black Truffle Xiao Long Bao (P218) and Noodles with Sesame and Peanut Sauce (P165).
Noodles with Sesame and Peanut Sauce (PhP 155)--The hand pulled noodles were cooked al dente and the sauce had just the right balance of creamy and nutty. To me, it was pretty average. Feel free to order it and taste the peanut sauce (quite odd when combined with soft pasta), but temper expectations.
The saltiness of the Salt and Pepper Squid (PhP 345) was tolerableβnot like you just swam a few laps in the ocean with your mouth open. I loved the squid as it was perfectly cooked, with a nice charred outside and buttery smooth inside. Dipping it into a small bowl of vinegar made it more appetizing.
Served in appropriately sized, tasty chops, the Fried Chicken Chop (PhP 205) is famous here. The crispiness of Shi Linβs fried chicken was nothing spectacular but nothing to complain about either.
The fried chicken chop was quickly followed by a glistening bowl of Fried Rice with Shrimp and Egg (PhP 135) which was satisfying. The fried rice didnβt come as flashy as the other entrees, but it was good.
Until the Xiao Long Bao (PhP 155 for six pieces), there wasnβt a single dish at Shi Lin that I got so much fired up about. Shi Linβs Xiao Long Bao was juicy, meaty, and not so insanely hot that it will scald the hell out of your mouth. Itβs a compelling reason to eat here in your own right.
As if my mom wasnβt full enough, she additionally ordered the Seafood Omelette (PhP 88). Overall, it tasted fine but this omelette didnβt get the merit to be one of our favorite versions. It lacked in ingredients and also in portion size. While we happily ate every last bite, this was probably our least favorite thing on the menu.
Shi Lin authentic Taiwanese restaurant is named after the largest and most famous night market in the city of Taiwan, the Shih Lin Nigh Market. Prices are not so expensive but are not a real bargain, too. For the bill, I thought I could eat in better restaurants in the same area, but this oneβs worth a try. :)
