I love the interior of this restaurant. It is simple but elegant. They serve authentic and premium quality beef and their side dishes are the best. Worth the value of money since it is premium quality. Must try!!!
Elegance, High Quality, Premium. Words to describe this very fabulous restaurant in Malate, Manila.They really serve authentic premium beef in different sets. all staff are accommodating and very attentive. Love it here!
My friends and I always eat at this restaurant, it's one of the best korean restaurant in Malate. I always liked their beef because it was juicy, all of their side dishes were so delicious. Staff was kind and attentive too. 👍🏻☺️
Tong Keun So is the very reason why we fell in love with Korean BBQ. It is responsible for the acquired taste we developed for Korean food. Aside from the prime meat that this resto serves, the side dishes are always en pointe. The breakout star, however, is the Gyeran Jjim, which, for me, the resto has already perfected. It's a good place to bring your huge family. Service is fast and efficient. Waitstaff is accommodating. Food is reasonably priced. Quality and quantity are at a balance. I would suggest they do a full general cleaning, though, as most of the things inside (eg sandalan of the chairs) are already greasy from all the grilling.
A great value Korean barbecue place. The reason to go here is definitely the quality of the meat, they have prime meat here and it's definitely better than the beef you could get at a lot of places. Their prices are reasonable, you can get a set for 1190 that's enough for 3 or would make 2 really full. The sides are pretty good, and their service is pretty great.
All in all, definitely one of the better Korean barbecue places I've been to, criminally underrated. Parking can be a hassle, but it's worth it.
After a long day in the mall, my small group decided to go here as suggested by one of our friends. The staff are very accommodating and they know how to talk to the costumers. When we got it, I was really shocked by how inexpensive the foods were. Even if we didn't pay A LOT (unlike in other korean bbq restaurants), Tong Keun So managed to satisfy our tummies and we even left with smiles on our faces!We ordered set A which consists of rib finger, prime chuck eyeroll and brisket point. Our orders also came with steamed egg, soup and a loooot of side dishes. You can ask for more if you want ;) The staff kindly cooked the meat for us and the sizzling of the meat made me more hungry HAHA My favorite here is the sikhye, which they give you after you bill out and the steamed egg! DEFINITELY WORTH IT!
In our many months of writing down reviews here in the Team Glasses Food Blog, we finally had a chance to eat at a Korean restaurant. And all of this due to a last minute change of plans when my dad arrived from Davao, a day before his birthday. To celebrate, we ended up at Remedios Circle in Malate and picked a place called Tong Keun So. For the frugal person my dad is, the signage displaying the PHP 990 for the Tong Keun So Hanmari (which consisted of rib finger, prime chuck eye roll, and brisket point) was enough to seal the deal.
My FAVORITE Korean restaurant!!! 💕☝🏻
Been to this place more than 10 times already and it doesn't change the place is huge, the food is delicious and the people are such a delight to see.
Food - 10/10 for the 990php price for the Set A it's really affordable. 500g of pure beef goodness! Plus they give you unlimited sides too, my absolute fave is their egg bomb.
Service - 9/10 the manager knows how to train his staff. When they opened 60% of the staff still work here until now.
Ambiance - 10/10 super comfy couches and you can choose to stay in the authentic Korean dining table they have. I personally do not like eating doing the Indian sit but they have that option!
This restaurant is super underrated! I recommend you to go here and try the beef sets and I promise you'll go back to this place like me!!! 😘
We love this place. I've been here a few times and come out full and satisfied each time. The place is always packed with Koreans which is always a good sign. We get the 990 beef set, which, for two people, is more than enough. The beef is not the best quality but really good for the price - tastes great and all the sauces and other free accompanying dishes that come with it are really good. I particularly love the spicy tofu soup, spicy salad and egg soufflé. Try this place whenever you're in Malate.
Tried the "Tong Keun So Hanmari"
1. P990
2. Good for 3 to 4 people
3. Half kilo of 3 kinds of beef
4. Unlimited side dishes
5. Staff is very friendly and accomodative
Went here two times already and never disappointed me.
Really, really had a good time in here during an early lunch with my friends. The cuts of beef are nice, comparably thick and juicy. The side dishes are plenty (My favorite: steamed egg and spicy kimchi). Vegetables are fresh. Cold noodles is refreshing. Everything is just yummy and heart-warming that I'll consider TKS as my second KBBQ fix destination from now on.

If you're looking at feasting on korean beef, this is the place to go!!! They have pretty decent packages where you get unlimited banchan plus 3 kinds of beef at around PHP 1000. Good enough to feed 4 hungry carnivores! The korean owner is very friendly too!! She will be very glad to assist you.
Beef - steak type. Grilled by the kuyas and ates. Served with lettuce, perilla leaves, green chili and garlic
Banchan - comes with steamed egg!!! Haha super yum. Im starving rn! 2 kinds of kimchi, the other one is freshly made while the other is somehow cured already. I prefer the latter. The gochugaru taste isnt that strong.
Too bad I don't have photos to do justice for this review. Meh!
I've been eyeing on this restaurant for a month and just last Friday, March 10, my friends and I finally decided to dine here. Among the many restaurants I'd checked in Malate for Korean food, Tong Keun So in Big Bang [?] stood out!
#1, They don't charge for their service which means no surprising additional fees other than what I order in the menu lol;
#2, Food are not those I consider to be that pricey since you can order meals with your Php350(ish) for a restaurant as fancy as this;
#3, Staff were very much attentive haha I loved them! We could joke around them that I find amusing;
#4, The location is supeeerb. I love how it's on the second storey, allowing customers to enjoy the view in Adriatico x Remedios (the round thing chenelyn). The restaurant also didn't feel too formal compared to other restaurants. It's a happy place full of people who mind their own businesses--my thing! What also made me love the place is how they have the usual table and chair set-up, but they also had Korean floor tables that felt like home.
#5, I've no complaints when it comes to food taste and serving. Our food generously filled five happy tummies!
#6, The restaurant's open 21 hours, and for a person like myself who stays out late ( a lot ), that's an A++.
#7, They have a smoking area outside the restaurant on the same floor and a bar / 'beer garden' on the 3rd floor.
#8, Electrical outlet's available for charging.
We ordered 2 sets of Samgeopsal that I highly recommend! Side dishes are refillable although not unlimited. I loved their soup (idk what it's called), kimchi, and most especially, their drinks! Their fruit shakes are by far the best I ever tasted, not to mention the serving amount which makes it worth the price of Php160! We ordered Strawberry and Kiwi fruit shakes. I've yet to taste the rest (Watermelon, Mango, Apple).
I'd give the restaurant a 5.0 if they kept the place cleaner and more presentable. It's already good, but I hope they get to maintain the floors and tables clean esp. the food they offer are a little too oily. I believe your mop and brooms should be kept in the storage room, not seen around the dining area (beside our table haha). I'm definitely coming back, nonetheless! =))
Went here on Valentine's day with my sister and cousin. The place was packed and we had to wait in line. The staff in charge of the queue was nice: offering us alternative so we could dine already. When finally got a table it took a while before someone attended us. The staff looked like she was in hurry. Some of the staffs weren't smiling at all. The food was great, worth the wait and worth every penny. We even got rice punch for dessert (I guess? haha) Their supervisor(?) was so nice she even served us. She also kept smiling.
Would definitely go back here
