one of the old, authentic korean restos in malate. been dining here for 10 years now. experience is more chill compared with more recent kbbq places
This was recommended to me by my partner if in case I would want an authentic Korean food.
Visited the place for dinner and decided to order Jjampong from the menu. Absolutely delicious!
Staff was also very attentive and polite.
My childhood favorite Korean restaurant. We used to eat here almost every week. Feels nostalgic! Tho the Beef Stew is quite different na. Great service, as always.
This is one of the restaurants that we've literally been visiting ever since I was a kid, I think that this location is their third around Malate area since they opened the 90's.
Their beef stew is their best seller for me as well as the BBQ chicken and pork that you can cook in front of you. As time passed by, some of the recipes were tweaked I guess since it wasn't as yummy as what remembered it to be. But overall, coming to Korean Village is like eating the food you've been eating since childhood.

I want to cry everytime I eat their fresh lumpia. It's soooooo good it's not even funny!! Everything served in front of us is fresh. Staff is very courteous since the day I started eating there. Nothing has changed. I even discovered melona because of this resto. Keep up the good work!! I will always love you!!
The staff are very nice, very friendly & accommodating. The food was DELICIOUS! Expensive though and not unlimited but still really delicious.

The place is old as I've been eating here since I was a kid. Food here is the same as it was back then. Beef stew, roast beef, chicken fillet, and the tempura was quite good. It needs to catch up with the new Korean restaurants though as it may get left behind by the times. An addition of an unlimited samgyeupsal would definitely be welcome. Great place to dine though if you have no problems spending.
Truly a Korean Restaurant for the ages. This was the favorite date resto of my parents 30 years ago and it is now my favorite date resto. Their food quality and quantity is worth it for the price. You won't get some of the common Korean grill dishes here such as the well - known Samgyupsal. Their take on those pork, chicken and beef Kbbq dishes are more flavorful and with less fat while still being super juicy. Their Tempura is also a favorite of mine. Definitely a must try!!!
I love this place! Been dining here since i was a little girl. The taste is consistent. Love their fried rice!! For the appetizer, the tofu is my fave! Chicken bbq is good also and their iced tea! Love the servers as well! Oh, typing this makes me want to eat there again. ❤️
The food is good. All fresh. Ambience is nice. Waiters are always smiling. Cant go wrong to this place. I will soon come here again
Beef stew the best
Korean Village is near the top of my favorite Korean BBQ places in metro Manila. Their beef roast, chicken fillet, and fried rice are definitely must tries! For the chicken, ask for chili paste and cover that chicken with it for an amazing taste! Would also recommend their Pajeon for a full meal!!
I don't have complains at all. The dishes felt so authentic and delicious. I specifically like their Samgyetang and yukhoe, which btw is rather cheap, and the atmosphere felt so homy. I'll come visit again.
One of the great classic korean resto in manila , i dine here once in a while since the 90's aside from great food and dining experience... Memories were created here
I was back at my happy place again
I've choosen this restaurant last night because the other restaurants along Adriatico were crowded. This is my third time and my first time to order pork belly samgyupsal for ₱250. Like last Monday, I also enjoyed this but I have to pay ₱75 for another set of lettuce. Their sidedish is also good.
PLACE/AMBIENCE: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Place is old, but clean. Not crowded. Not very well lit. Servers were courteous, but seemed rushed.
FOOD: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have little experience with Korean food and how much it usually costs, but I enjoyed what we had. We ordered assorted barbecue (pork, chicken, chicken liver and shrimp), bibimbap hotpot, chapchae, ssamgyupsal. Our total bill was P1,050 for two people (no service charge). Pretty much enjoyed everything, I was just put off by the pork belly because it was served frozen, even the veggies with it (onion and garlic) 😮😮😮

So, my boyfriend and I decided to eat at korean village in malate. We ordered roast beef, spicy pork and chopchae. We only ordered 3 since we its just my boyfriend and I who'll eat. I love the roast beef, i love how it was marinated. Just the right amount of sweetness. Not unlike spicy pork, its super sweet and no spiciness at all. The first thing that came to my mind when i ate it is the "pampanga's famous tocino". Hahaha (saying the truth only). And the chopchae, is not that good. For me its tasteless.
I always come to eat here with friends... Menu is affordable and serving is pretty big! It never fails to please my tastebuds most especially their Chapchae.
I super love this place! :)

This is our favorite Korean BBQ resto. Hubby introduced this resto to me, since he and his family loves this resto too. Love the Korean food here with all the different free small samplers. The service is very good too. Highly recommended family and date resto
This resto has been around as long as I can remember. We've been coming here since the early 80s when one can dine well for around P100/person. It still is relatively cheap here, as we spent only P900 for what would have easily been P1500 in other decent Korean restos.
They do not give like, 8 appetizers but only 4. But this is enough for us. I find heir Kalbichim to be the closest in flavor as my favorite in Korea Garden with that sweet & spicy taste. Not to mention that their beef is oh so tender and the "falls off the bone" type. However, their squid in spicy sauce was a letdown. No spice at all and a tad too salty. A far cry from the one served at again, my favorite, Korea Garden. The latter also serves this dish using octopus instead of squid (I like octopus much more). Their bibimbap in stoneware (to get that burnt rice or "tutong") at the edges was decent.
Overall, a nice experience. They do have Japanese dishes which I recall were quite alright as well. I am glad this resto is still around and is still one of my favorites in the Malate area.

One of the better restaurants i been to. Great food selection, great service. Its usually less crowded during lunch and they can attend to you better. Its worth your money just watch out for the striploin they're not that great. Other than that, you're good to go!
One of the best Korean restaurants in town - consistent and reliable grub. Very popular among locals and Koreans (residents and tourists); just a while back, we saw a big tourist group of provincial Koreans enjoying their meal. The waitstaff may frequently be busy because of customer traffic, but I've always found them to be efficient - friendly even, once you're a regular (they are now familiar with our usual preferences). Parking may be a problem, so best to get there early.
My first Korean Resto grill-your-own-meat experience was superb with Korean Village Restaurant! 👍 :) Cozy place, accomodating staffs and great foods... Japchae was okay (since I've tried so many japchae way before with other restaurants). We order some pork belly, and assorted meat which only costs around 200-350. Total was about 900+ but its all worth it.. Totally worth it. They even gave us a free dessert. Price is nice and affordable. A good place for family to hang out during weekends. :)
This place is a bit hard to find however once you find it, it would have been worth it. Their meats are so very sweet. It does not matter if it is chicken, pork or beef. All of them are good. I also like the appetizers that they give at the start of every meal. The dilis and the eggs are the standouts.
To satisfy my cravings for Korean food again, my friend and I decided to try a new Korean restaurant since we know that there are a lot of them in Malate. After researching, we decided to try the Korean Village. When we got there, it’s like we’re transported back to the 90’s. The place looked vintage and the servers were quite old. This made us feel like it’s a family-owned business and it felt cozy and warm. The servers were very well-mannered. We ordered 3 orders of pork, beef and spicy pork. WE COULDN’T FINISH THEM ALL. 1 order of meat is good for 2 persons already. We had to cook the 2 other orders and asked the server to pack it. Their price and servings are very good!
Since I love korean food, I think I’m very biased. I love the meat and all the side dishes. There is also a free fruit plate at the end of the meal which is a plus. However, there’s also a downside to this restaurant because the side dishes are not refillable and the soup isn’t free.
Final Verdict: I love the place but it’s similar to other Korean restaurants, so I might not come back anymore.
Korean village serves up one of the yummiest chicken, beef and pork barbecue ever. I like the fact that you can cook them on your own so that you an control the cook on each meat. All of them have this subtle sweetness that makes me want to go back.
This is my happy place. Or at least one of the few. The prices are very affordable and the food is awesome. I especially like their pork and chicken. I also like their ebi tempura. Very delicious and comparable to the good japanese restaurants I have been in at better prices.
Craving for korean dishes try this place, i have been here several times with my friends and the whole family as well. Appetizer alone is good. ( The Sushi Mix is superb) The Roast beef i like the way its done, side dish with shrimp tempura! Also their Beef Rib Stew is so good, full of flavor, meat is so tender. Service is fine same as with the price.
Good food and very generous servings plus a very affordable price. That sums it all about Korean Village. They don't mind refilling your side dishes, too. Stuff so warm and friendly. Problem is just the parking and you will be smelling of what you ate when you get out.
Ever since i was a young kid, I always eat here with my family. When the site of their restaurant was still in Adriatico... They always give me a carved carrots and I was so happy keeping those for few days.
When it comes to the food quality, the flavors are the best! Until now, we also eat here with everyone, specially on Weekends. Eventhough they have transferred near the original place, the crowd still remains.
Definitely, one of the best Korean Restaurants in town! ❤️
Rated (4.5)
Food(5/5): The Food here is superb!! considering it's price. Very Affordable yet delicious. Offers Refillable side dishes. and free pineapple as desert.
Must Try dishes:
Bibimbap(200)- this bibimbap was so flavorful one word "Heaven".
Beef Rib Stew(250) - Marinated Beef stew and cooked for at least 10 hours. that is why their beef stew here is so soft. And many Sesame Seeds.
Grilling Items(150-350) their bulgogi's are very flavorful too. i like that they have generous servings.
Definitely will update and add more dishes to review.
Ambiance/Location(4/5) their location was not bad. the have parking space for 3-4 cars. and for ambiance. typical house restaurant. one thing that i like they seperate smoking to non smoking area. that was a big yes to me.
Service(5/5) the servers here are very polite. they serve service water very quick and they are attentive.
overall Rating of 4.5! i like to try their other dishes next time :)
I've been to this establishment more times than I can count, all with my family members and usually for Sunday lunch. It has a simple and homey vibe with friendly staff and is almost always at least half-full of patrons whenever we pay them a visit. It is a "smokeless grill" but be sure to note that it still means that you will walk out smelling like food - as with most enclosed grilling restaurants.
The food is not only very reasonably priced, but so delicious as well! We usually order two plates each of the chicken fillet, beef and the occasional squid to grill ourselves - each serving would be good for two people. I highly recommend the beef rib stew, which has a very flavorful broth and the meat simply falls off the bone. (So good!) I'd say one order of this would be good for two, if you're considering that there is a lot of other food to go around. It goes well with their fried rice, which I personally love.
Other dishes that are pretty standard are the chapchae and their korean pancake. My sister has had the bibimbap a couple of times in the past, it is pretty good and nothing out of the ordinary. I do not encourage ordering their sashimi or sushi unless you keep your standards low. The california maki usually comes out at 75% more rice than filling and the sashimi usually tastes slightly frozen. I'd say that ordering sushi would be more worth your money than the latter.
I have never had a bad experience in this establishment and am always fully satisfied when leaving. For that, I am giving them a 4.5 and highly recommend it for groups looking for a nice dinner place in the Malate area.
One of my favorite restaurants in Malate. My officemate who lives near here was the one who introduced us to this place. The place itself is good. And they serve the best Beef Stew and Sukiyaki I've ever tasted. Actually, all their food is great. If you are a Korean food lover, you should try this place.
Tucked away in the midst of Malate is a very affordable Korean restaurant. Here you can find your favorite Korean dishes cooked deliciously such as bulgogi, seafood kimchi soup, chapchae and beef stew served with an array of appetizers. Perhaps what I do not like about this place is that the smoking and nonsmoking section are in the same hall separated only by a door that is open often.
My friend introduced me to this restaurant. Her family goes here a lot even from way back. It is a great place to eat with your family in that you get to cook your food together. We always order their beef, chicken and pork barbecue, shrimp tempura and enough rice for six people. All that and we just spend around 2,300 bucks! Definitely a bang-for-your-buck kind of place.
this restaurant has been (and probably will still be) my family's go-to restaurant for celebrating special occasions. We've been fans of this place for as far back as I can remember (this was where I learned how to use chopsticks!) and things have either stayed the same or gotten better, never worse. They have limited parking slots in front of the resto itself but, fortunately for us, there's a "secret" pay parking area across the street (it's got a gate so you really have to ask around if there aren't any signs advertising their service). the food is consistently delicious and reasonably priced. they don't change their flavors and format much, which is why we can count on getting things the way we like them every single time. The staff are friendly and they are as prompt as they can be, given the number of tables needing them, and have been around since my first memories of the place (loyal customer AND loyal employees?!). my only complaints about this place is that i know of no other branches (malate's so far from where i live! *whine*) and that, because we keep on cooking meat, we always end up smelling of food when we leave.
I love this place! The food is really excellent and the price is not that bad either. We were a group of 7 people when we went here and we paid almost P3,000 only. And the thing is we were all already full with the food we had ordered. Not bad at all! The waiters are all so accommodating and the ambiance is good for groups to share an authentic Korean meal. The place is big enough and clean and I do not mind traveling here despite the 1 hour travel time.
This is my family's go to place for special occasions and we have been going here for over 20 years from the time they were first located in Adriatico Street and until they transferred to Nakpil Street in Malate, Manila. Despite their transferring of venues, the restaurant still offers really good Korean dishes that are really affordable and delicious. This Korean owned restaurant now has bigger seating capacity as it now even has a second floor for when their restaurant is open during peak seasons. Servers here are very friendly and accommodating and have been employed for years as well as I remember seeing them way back when I was a kid. Staple dishes that we order apart from their Chicken, Beef and Pork Barbeque plates are the Sukiyaki, Tempura and California Maki. Always a perfect and filling experience when I visit this place as it holds such fond memories of my Father who simply loved this restaurant as well. Parking is limited to 4 cars out front, but the building across offers more parking spaces at a charge for anyone within the area.
Korean Village Restaurant at 566 Julio Nakpil Street
Simply put: the best Korean Restaurant in Manila.
I was even informed that the previous Regional Director of the World Health Organization: Dr ST Han and the current Regional Director of the World Health Organization: Dr Shin Young-soo are patrons of this establishment.
I was introduced to Korean food by my mom through Korean Village at J Nakpil.
I was hooked!
A neverending (eat-all-you-can) korean side dish was simply the icing on the top. The cherry on the top is the free dessert of fruits (pineapple).
Even before Yakimix came into the picture, Korean Village was the place to go for affordable indoor Korean barbecue.
I can't wait to go back to Korean Village to try out their bibimbap.
My wife doubted me at 1st as they had a different Korean restaurant in mind when they got lost in Malate. But after indulging in Korean Village she was converted. On a side note: I of course indulged her first by accompanying her to their previous favorite Korean restaurant - long story short: she was severely disappointed.
I always recommend Korean Village to everyone and anyone looking for great Korean food
I always find a reason to go to Korean Village to indulge in Korean barbecue.
