Great service, great staff & they recognise us again & again. And great meals, thanks Percival.
Awesome and yummy foods, all the Staff including the owner are very Customers friendly and the ambiance of the venue is truly superb.
The only restaurant you can find fresh Lapulapu in Tauso sauce ... the best ever!
been eating here since i was 4 years old. never missed a year dining here. sometimes we eat here twice or thrice a month. do not order the generic familiar chinese fair or else you'd end up with a mediocre experience. my personal recommendations are, steamed king fish or grouper in tauso sauce, salt and pepper crab or frogs legs, fried string beans, pata tim, and steamed swahe. these food items alone are enough to satisfy ones appetite.

Superb Chinese cuisine our family loves to spend our special occassions here at Sze Chuan.. Staffs very are accomodating which includes Elorde of course my dads favorite :) Steamed Lapu-lapu is my moms favorite dish.
one of the oldest chinese restaurants in manila..... food is still very good up to now..... service is still good.... will always come back to try new dishes
This is my family's go to chinese restaurant for affordable chinese food. I would recommend the sze chuan chicken, eggplant with spicy garlic sauce and the fried silver roll (bread)!
One of the old school classic Chinese restaurants to be at that gives us a homey vibe. Their staff is very attentive and accommodating! Observant and initiative, too. Went in at the exact time they opened and our orders were served in less than 10mins! Props to Sir Percy and his batch of food attendants that time. Sarap ng food nila talaga. Never fails to uplift my spirits reminiscent of happy moments shared with family and relatives.
I got a change to eat their spicy crab sotanghon... my mouth was burning but it felt like i was in heaven... the taste of the crab was all over the sauce and the rice noodles. I am not into spicy food but this was so good not to enjoy. bits and pieces of crab have merge with the sauce that creates a fusion of taste of sweet from the rice noodles, spiciness from the chilis and the taste of that wonderful delicious crab. there were also plenty of other foods to enjoy if you are a little adventurous you should also try their deep fried frog legs. but the spicy sotanghon crab is enough to give this place 5 delicious stars
This place is an institution if you ask the old timers. But i can say i enjoy this place too and understand why. We should be so lucky to still have the opportunity to eat their stir fried string beans with minced pork that is perfectly flavored and cooked. Also great is the fried white bread that is dipped in condensed milk - so yummy, a must try. Enjoy! I do hope modernization and the ills of fast commercialization does not change this location, tied in with the Aloha hotel. These are sacred grounds so legs hope this remains to be the case, unless something just as majestic props up on this location.

Been eating here since I was a child, more than 15 years ago. Still tastes great as I remember, especially the pata tim with mantou. Also try their dishes with seafood, I think the restaurant’s owners also own a fishing business so you’re guaranteed that the seafood is always fresh.
Chinese restaurant with exotic food, like frogs are served here. Although, I am not a fan. We still ordered food that are new to us. And luckily we find the menu and food of exotic viand taste great here. Small but nice restaurant inside Aloha Hotel.
An acquaintance introduced Sze Chuan housed to me a year ago. He said that this housed one of the best Xioa Long Bao. We went there to see if it was true and we ended up ordering more than we should have.
We ordered Jellyfish Salad and the hot and sour soup. Both were pretty good and was worth every peso spent.
We also ordered the hakao which was really good. It wasn't dry nor was it chewy. It was just right and it was so fresh.
We did not get to try the Xiao Long Bao though. It was out of stock.
Nag.Christmas party kami dito last Friday. The food so good. May kamahalan pero madami naman per serving. Very tasty. The place is ok very Chinese style . 😊
When most Chinese restaurants in the city serve Cantonese style, this establishment focuses on Szechuan, a style characterized with more flavors and spice brought about by the use of Sichuan pepper, garlic, and chili peppers.
Expect authentic cuisine from their chef who is very much familiar with Southwestern Chinese food.
If you’re not too familiar with what to order, their staff knows their offerings too well. I got a balanced set of bestsellers coming from different parts of their lengthy menu.
I highly recommend having Szechuan House’s Lapu Lapu with Taoso. Starting at just Php 1,250, you can delight in freshly cooked premium fish mixed with a savory combination of deep fried soybean and garlic.
Another worth your while is their Sliced Beefloin Boiled in Special Spicy Sauce. From the looks of the bowl, it can scare you. This turned out to be soup-like with manageable heat on its tender beef slices.
Pair the two wonderful dishes with crisp Fried String Beans and ever reliable Yang Chow Fried Rice. Now you have a complete Szechuan experience like no other.
If ever you want to increase your Szechuan journey to another level, have a bite or two of their Pig’s Ears. I tell you, it’s worth having.
Szechuan House is located at the ground floor of the 50+ year old Aloha Hotel. It’s easy to spot as it right in front of the beautiful Manila Bay.
