This fine dining is one of the oldest authentic Italian restaurants in Manila, having been around since 1994. If you're a fan of seafood pasta and are looking for something adventuroud that is Off The Menu, try the Pasta Bottarga - Bottarga is the cured and salted roe of the grey mullet. The whole dish was a bit too salty for my taste, but the dining experience was well worth it. Drinks were on the house.

Loved the quaint and charming ambiance of the place. If you're planning to celebrate your birthday or anniversary with your significant other, L'Opera is a great place for a quiet and romantic celebration.

Tried their Angus beef steak for my main and it was so tender and flavorful. It's also relatively cheaper compared to the other high-end steakhouses out there.

Their panna cotta and tiramisu are also must-tries!

L'Opera remains the premier Italian fine dining restaurant in the Metro continuing to provide great food.

We had Ravioli Verdi with spinach and ricotta cheese. Excellent dish and super tasty. Penne Arrabbiata was great too - so simple and, yet, so elegantly done. Filleto du Manzo ai fungi porcini was good too. Tasty and juicy Angus beef tenderloin in creamy mushroom sauce.

We had a range of beverages from red wine to an aperitif of grappa, limoncello and prosecco (called Vagabondo) and cocktails called Milanese, Capri Sunset, and Orange Bellini in between.

Very memorable meal

Celebrated my birthday dinner here with my fiance, the food and service were excellent. We enjoyed it so much that we're already planning to go back next month for the Tortelli d' antara al profumo di tartufo (Duck-filled ravioli) and Bistecca Dosossata alla griglia con spinaci  (Angus Rib-eye Steak)!

La Dolce Vita!

I celebrated my birthday here with my partner. The ambience is very elegant which is really ideal for romantic dates. Excellent customer service from the entrance to our reserved table. The staff stayed beside us while waiting for our orders.

They have lots of choices from the menu. The food we ordered were super delicious plus the complimentary bread that we really enjoyed eating while waiting for our orders. Between the two pastas that we ordered, I prefer Spaghetti alle vongole. My partner requested to make it spicy and it turned really delicious! Pasta with truffle sauce was too creamy for me. Cold Tenderloin tasted so special and I really like it. The crab soup was so rich in flavor. Look how nice the plate was! Huge servings for everything we ordered! Good for sharing.

Tiramisu! OMG! I super like this one! It was so rich in flavor and super delicious! It was really an awesome freebie!

Stopped by for a fairly late dinner around 2000. We were greeted when we entered and taken to a free table. The staff was always nearby so we didn't have to wait long when we were ready to order. The menu had plenty of options but we ended up getting risotto and plates of pasta to share.

After ordering we were given bread to snack on while waiting for the mains. The food was really tasty. The different kinds of pasta all had different flavours and it was all delicious. I quite liked the 30 yolk pasta in the porcini sauce (you also had the option of truffle sauce) since it was so luxurious and rich.

There was live music the night we were there which was interesting. Really nice looking restaurant with good service and food.

My family and I have been enjoying L'Opera's food as early as I can remember. Their extensive menu has really great vegetarian options that can be made vegan upon request. Delicious entrées and of course, al dente pastas to die for.

Vegan Musts:
Funghi Trifolati
Assorted mushrooms sautéed in garlic and olio extra vergine di oliva
Served on a bed of sautéed spinach. Ask your server to serve it without Parmesan or butter. Just yum.

Penne all'arrabbiata con funghi porcini
This pasta is cooked with cheese added to the sauce but can be omitted upon request. Which actually tastes better to me (tried this dish before going vegan).

Capellini ai pomodori secchi
Angel hair pasta with sun-dried tomato in their spicy extra virgin olive oil
Need I say more?

Hidden inside all those resto bars, I got invited to a quaint Italian restaurant in BGC Fort Strip. The ambiance of the decor of the place was on point and perfect for a romantic dinner date with you significant other. Staff was very polite and attentive as we were seated and served with food. They offered us one of their newer dishes that aren't on the menu and we got familiarized with each type of dish and how it's called in Italian. First up we got their Antipasti di Terra or Hearty Appetizers, then Pizze or better known favorite Pizzas. Next were the Pasta Fresca or Homemade Pastas, followed by the Secondidi Pesce or Fish Main Course

and was topped off with their Dolci or Desserts. Below is a rundown on how each dish impressed me.

Antipasti di Terra(Hearty Appetizers)

Crudo di manzo (P560)

Beef carpaccio, Parmesan cheese, cherry tomato anfrerucola, beef tartare with a sliver of seared foie gras, Bresaola (dried beef) filled with mascarpone and Gorgonzola cheeses. One of the best italian beefs I've tasted, the savoriness of the beef paired well with the parmesan cheese. The savoriness of the beef has coupled well with the saltiness of the cheese. There's also the sliver of foie gras and Bresaola for a specific taste of Italian to look forward to as well. I finished the remaining Bresaola, as it was THAT good.

Frutta fresca

Romaine greens with apple sticks, mango cubes, and grape slices topped with ground walnuts and drizzled with truffle balsamic sauce. My impression was an Italian version of a fruit salad with some greens. I loved how the apple sticks were cut, it made the salad have this crispy texture together with the romaine greens. The grape slices, walnuts and mango cubes added a bit sweetness to the salad. All ingredients were fresh and had the right amount of ripeness.

Insalate mista di mare

Fresh cold seafood salad of shrimps, clams, squid, mussels, and cuttlefish marinated in fresh lemon and extra virgin olive oil on a bed of crisp lettuce leaves. To me it was an Italian Seafood salad. The Lemon slices squeezed on to the salad added a zing to the taste of it, which complements the seafood. The clams and mussels was a good extra addition to make the salad even more delicious. Although I wish they had used prawns instead of shrimps although the shrimps were larger than the ones I see in the wet market.

Pizze(Pizza)

L’Opera(P590)

The house pizza topped with spiced salami, anchovies, and blue cheese on pomodoro sauce and mozzarella cheese. I love the mix of the toppings, although its not for all, since some people don't like anchovies on their pizza but who doesn't love salami, blue cheese on pomodoro and mozzarella cheese. The smell of the blue cheese on the pomodoro can be smelled 20feet away while it was being served away from us, a clear indication of it's authenticity.

Pizza con verdure grigliate(P510)

Grilled eggplant, zucchini, and bell peppers on tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese.

Never was a fan of vegetable pizza until I tried theirs, the grilled eggplant, zucchini and mozarella cheese were complementing each other. The eggplant tames the sweetness of the zucchini and saltiness of mozarella cheese.

Pasta Fresca (Homemade Pastas)

Ravioli all’ aragosta(P610)

Homemade lobster and shrimp in ravioli wrapper with a cream sauce. Who wouldn't love lobster and shrimp wrapped together in cream sauce right? (well there's the people who have seafood allergy, God Bless their unlucky souls ). By far my favorite dish on their menu. You can really taste the seafood with just the right amount of cream sauce other restaurants stuff their ravioli with cream sauce and you can't even taste the seafood inside.

Tajerin 30 tuorli alla chitarra di porcini o di tartufo (

Homemade pasta made with 30 egg yolks per kilo of pasta in a porcini or truffle sauce. Another favorite! 30 egg yolks was mixed per kilo on this dish, evident from how each spoonful of pasta I had was heavy and filling. The truffle sauce was evident altho it wasn't that strong which was good since the high light was the 30 egg yolk. I can order this solely as a meal and get the bill on my next visit.

Secondidi Pesce (Main Course)

Scaloppine di vitello al Marsala o al limone (P1000)

Sliced Dutch veal tenderloin in Marsala sauce. The Marsala wine was evident from the juices of the veal tenderloin, the meat was soft and tender as we requested medium rare. I love the meat to the point i got first dibs on the last cut.

Filetto di salmone allo spumante

Norwegian salmon steak sautéed in white wine in a light cream sauce. The salmon was prepared well, it doesn't have that freezer aftertaste that some restaurant have. It taste fresh and delectable with a hint of exquisiteness on the eyes.

Risotto Champagne

Italian rice cooked in champagne and smoked mozzarella cheese. I found this dish less appealing as some might think that the risotto look likes a porridge to a common man. The taste was okay although nothing remarkable about it.

Dolci(Desserts)

Panna Cotta con miele o frutti di bosco (Panna cotta with mango)

Italian cream custard that they're famous form with fresh mango and cold rich chocolate sauce. Dessert was the bomb.com ! The italian cream custard was delicious paired with the fresh sweet mango and chocolate sauce.

Favorites: Ravioli all’ aragosta, Homemade pasta made with 30 egg yolks,Sliced Dutch veal tenderloin in Marsala sauce and Panna cotta with mango

Service 5/5 - servers were attentive even though we weren't the only ones there during lunch rush

Food 4.5/5 - Food was impeccable and almost perfect.

Price 4/5- Typical authentic Italian restaurant price although I'd eat here than more expensive Italian places.

Ambiance 5/5- Perfect for a lunch or dinner date. I'll surely bring my future SO here.

My first time to dine in L'Opera (considering I've been living in BGC area close to 15 years) and all I could ask myself was why didn't I try this sooner?!?! Ordered the oysters, duck-filled truffle ravioli, champagne risotto, rib eye steak, and tiramisu. The oysters and steak were average, but what I will definitely come back for would be the following:
1- Duck-Filled Ravioli - the filling was a bit mushy at first but after I got over it I was able to appreciate the amazing duck and truffle combination
2- Champagne risotto - deliciously rich and creamy
3- Tiramisu
I couldn't stop thinking about it until the next day and really considered going back 😂
On top of the great food, the staff was very attentive and anticipated our needs.
Overall, great dining experience.

Dined here last night and i must say, the food does not disappoint! We ordered the mushroom soup and crab with spinach, both were really tasty considering they were tomato based. We got the assorted mushroom on a bed of spinach as appetizer and although the mushroom wasnt assorted (it was just a bunch of button mushrooms) it was fresh and really really good for such a simple dish. As main courses we got the porcini risotto and their champagne with mozarella risotto, ive gotta say, the champagne with mozarella was AMAZING. It was a huge portion but you would never get sick of eating it.

The only reason this review is getting a 4 is because i think my table was mixed up despite me calling in advance. They switched us up to the 2nd floor where the ac was just not cool enough, so the temperature was really uncomfortable. I had to ask the waiter to switch us to a different area and to keep the fan on us. The service was great though.

The complimentary bread we had was cold and tough to chew, but their pâté and tomatoes were so good I had to ask for another serving! My appetizer, Caprese, was just as what I expected, quality ingredients!

I ordered a duet of the Lapu Lapu and Vongole. The Lapu Lapu was fantastic, it was fresh and perfectly cooked and the pomodoro sauce was authentic, however the Vongole was quite bland, I would recommend for them to use more white wine or clam juice to enhance the flavor.

Their Panna Cotta and Tiramisu (no picture) were both delicious. If I had to order one of them again, I would choose the Tiramisu!!

Overall, it's a place to bring your date for a romantic dinner. I wouldn't mind going back to try other dishes - their pizzas looked appetizing!!

The only photo I can offer you is a photo of our plates wiped clean. We thought the food was that good.

I went with my boyfriend to L'Opera for an intimate pre-Valentine's dinner, and that's exactly what we got. We were welcomed by the rustic, but also very classic, interiors of this Italian restaurant. I loved the ambiance, but I hated the ugly yellow tablecloths ( I'm just nitpicking at this point haha).

The service was fantastic. We were escorted to the table we had reserved and our complementary bread, liver pate, and butter were served immediately. The waiters were all smiles and showed utmost courtesy to my date and me. There was also a live quartet, which I found extremely romantic.

The food was amazing. For appetizers, we had their scallops served in cheese sauce. The scallops were the biggest and softest scallops I've ever eaten. However, I do think their cheese sauce could use some extra flavor. We had the duck ravioli in truffle sauce and the L'Opera house pizza for dinner, and I was floored by the food. The duck ravioli was SO decadent and flavorful, I could taste the truffle at the first bite. I don't recommend eating this on its own, though. The pizza was also really nice and cheesy with just the right amount of bleu cheese for that added tang.

I also love their extensive drinks menu and wine list. Their Prosecco is fantastic.

The prices are quite steep. We spent 2,500 for the both of us, and we didn't even order any steaks/rice mains. While I do believe the prices should be a tad lower, if you don't mind splurging, then I believe the prices can be justified by the quality of the food and service. :)

L'Opera Ristorante Italiano truly is the perfect place for intimate dinner dates. Ambiance is the perfect kind of rusty. For a group of five girls who always find time to go on dates especially when Valentines is nearing, we couldnt find a more better place to dine at.

We were first served with their signature breads, which were really really good while waiting for our orders. Wiped out in no time! Three of our orders arrived altogether -- thin egg noodles in truffle sauce with prosciutto ham, duck-filled ravioli; and the angus beef rib-eye accompanied with mashed potatoes and greens. The only entree I liked was the thin egg noodles in truffle sauce with prosciutto ham. It was really really good, loved the balance of the creaminess and saltiness. A little bit of Europe. Duck-filled ravioli tasted like tuna for me so I was looking for something that couldnt be found, although still a good dish. Steak was truly disappointing. Both the steak and the mashed potatoes were dry. Too much pepper on steak and hard to chew.

Next came the capricciosa. Full of prosciutto ham and a little bit of mushrooms. Not that balanced. Ham was overpowering everything, maybe lacking in cheese. Still good to eat, just lacking something, although we definitely had better pizzas for a lower price.

After everything, our mushroom risotto arrived. I don't know what to say, really, as it was soooo soo good! Reminded me so much of my days in Europe. I couldnt stop eating it. I would order it again if I could. Love it.

It is as if we werent full yet, as we ordered two more desserts for sharing!! I love it when desserts make up for the lowdowns of the dishes. We had the panna cotta in truffle sauce and sweet balsamic vinegar and the frangelico cioccolato. Both were so so good and definitely gone in a matter of seconds. I loved how savory the panna cotta was and then sweet. Well-balanced and kept my tummy happy. The frangelico cioccolato was another hit! Bitter at first and then magic while on your mouth. Very delicious. Loved the sweetness and the kick of liquer.

Spent more than 5k for a group of 5. Some dishes werent worth it for me, especially the steak and the pizza If I could go back, I would definitely get the desserts again along with the mushroom risotto and the thin egg noodles in truffle sauce and prosciutto ham. Food is definitely good. Just hit and miss with the steak and pizza. Serving amount is good and service is impeccable. They were so nice to us and we definitely enjoyed our pre-valentines date.

L'Opera has been my all time favorite Italian restaurant ever since I was a little girl. Every birthday since I could remember would always be celebrated here. This was the place where I fell inlove with caprese, carpaccio, risotto and pannacotta at such an early age! Their beef carpaccio is wonderful. Their caprese, although still strikingly sumptuous, became smaller in portion :( Instead of my usual mushroom risotto, I got the truffle risotto which, although absolutely divine, still falls short of paralleling the mushroom risotto. Ofcourse we had to end the night with my fave pannacotta. 💛

I love this place.

The ambiance is amazing (great music, lighting, servers) and of course, amazing food.

I don't really know how close this is to authentic Italian but I loved everything. The dessert was sweet to a tolerable extent, the veal was soft and tender, the pastas were great (everything with truffle oil is great) and the scallops were really good I didn't want to share them.

Although I wouldn't really order the pizza again, as even their served complimentary bread tastes better than the pizza. I also wouldn't order the lobster pasta thing as it was nowhere near the other items we ordered.
Although this place is definitely expensive, I would definitely go back.  It is definitely worth it.

It was my birthday when we ate here and there was no nothing, not even the staff singing happy birthday so I subtracted .5 begrudgingly.

So.. my beau and i went here Dec of 2014., the ambiance was pretty impressive- italian dressed musicians greeted us on our way in. With the intimate- dim lighting, the place looked so classy but not intimidating. There were several odd paintings that adds antique- ish vibe along with thier crystal chandeliers. Ok, now the food-- i can't remember the specifics but i tell you, the food was just amazing. I had Ravioli per usual and wanted to order my second plate for the same thing, that's how good it was.

I surprised my girlfriend with a romantic dinner for our monthsary in L'Opera. Since I've never eaten here before, I was a bit hesitant at first, but any doubts that I had were quickly put to rest. The interior sets a pleasant atmosphere, and very conducive to making your significant other feel special.

The waitstaff were very accommodating, and quick to offer suggestions for first-time diners. With the extensive menu, its difficult to not be tempted to try everything. Finally, we decided to order the duck ravioli in truffle sauce and the prosciutto pizza.

I have never had duck in any other way before besides Peking duck. It was quite a surprise therefore to get to try this kind of ravioli. Hot damn, my girl and I were slightly disappointed that we decided to split a single order! I was subtly trying to take an extra piece from her plate :D

The prosciutto pizza is enough for 3-4 people to share along with another dish. I have to wonder though: what's the proper protocol for eating pizza in a fancy restaurant? Bahala na! :) She went for the knife and fork, while I dug in with my hands. Either way, twas a good pizza indeed.

Looking forward to my return trip to L'Opera, and I'm already anxiously waiting for what they'll put in front of me :)

Went here for a birthday celebration. The food was great!

Lamb chops were cooked perfectly (and has veggies and risotto on the side). Their Mushroom Risotto is the best!!! It was also my first time to try Veal. It was very tender and was cooked in wine. Their lobster pasta was okay too, but not as good as their meat choices and risotto. The baked scallops were good, but I guess I personally prefer them served with less ingredients and flavors. Wasn't able to try the steak but I was told it was really good.

Over all, service 5/5, ambience 5/5, food 4.5/5.

Amazing food. Lovely atmosphere. Warm and friendly service. Perfect for dates, friendzoners, business thingies, families, special occasions or those craving really good comforting Italian food.

Order:
-the tartufo (truffle pasta with proscuitto)
-mushroom ravioli (7pillows of heaven doused in sauce that surely has drugs in it because it is so good)
-proscuitto in the crispy parmesan basket (crispy cheese! come on. the best.)

Cons:
weird smell in the dining room. Kind of laundry that hasnt dried out fully. (Explains the -.05 from my review)

Pocket damage:
Expect to spend 1,000/pp at least without drinks.

Tip:
For a quieter, more intimate night, dine on a weekday (Mon-Wed).

I was transported to another place when I enter Ristorante Italiano L’ Opera. I fell in love with the beautiful interior of the place.

L’ Opera is affiliated with Ristorante Italiano Prego in City of Dreams Manila.

We order the following dishes during our lunch:

Beef carpaccio, Parmesan cheese, cherry tomato anfrerucola, beef tartare with a sliver of seared foie gras, and Bresaola dried beef filled with mascarpone and Gorgonzola cheeses

2) Frutta fresca
Romaine greens with apple sticks, mango cubes, and grape slices topped with ground walnuts and drizzled with truffle balsamic sauce

3) Insalate mista di mare
Fresh cold seafood salad of shrimps, clams, squid, mussels, and cuttlefish marinated in fresh lemon and extra virgin olive oil on a bed of crisp lettuce leaves

Pasta
1) Ravioli all’ aragosta
Homemade lobster and shrimp in ravioli wrapper with a cream sauce

2) Tajerin 30 tuorli alla chitarra di porcini o di tartufo
Homemade pasta made with 30 egg yolks per kilo of pasta in a porcini or truffle sauce

Pizze
1) L’Opera

2) Pizza con verdure grigliate
Grilled eggplant, zucchini, and bell peppers on tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese

Secondi
1) Scaloppine di vitello al Marsala
Sliced Dutch veal tenderloin in Marsala sauce

2) Filetto di salmone allo spumante
Norwegian salmon steak sautéed in white wine in a light cream sauce

3) Risotto Champagne
Italian rice cooked in champagne and smoked mozzarella cheese

Dolci
Panna cotta with mango
Italian cream custard with mango

*Thank you Kevin for the menu.

The salad was a good start. Though the dressing was a little bit sweet. I also like the salmon especially pairing it with the risotto, it enhances the flavor. The L’ Opera pizza was so good while its hot. The panna cotta and tartufo chocolate cake tastes even better with coffee. I will be back again for these 2 desserts.

Every single detail of the L'Opera is very good. The classy set-up is perfect for the romantic couple celebrating their love.

I went here for my birthday with my Italian boyfriend and for him, the ambiance and the ingredients were very authentic. We enjoyed the dim lights and relaxing Italian background music. The food were amazing and pricey... But it's worth it.
First was the "traditional" mushroom soup. They served it with tomato which is kind of odd for a pinay like me. It was a bit sour for my typical mushroom soup. It was in the shade of red and it was pretty sophisticated for me. I didn't quite enjoy it.
The lobster ravioli is a must try! Inside is rich with toppings and I couldn't get enough of it's cream sauce garnished with parsley.
The grilled seafood contained: a fish fillet, 2 squids, a lobster and a tiger prawn which i loved the most so I ordered another set of tiger prawns.
Boneless chicken marinated with herbs. One bite and I saw heaven! Squeeze a pinch of lemon and eat away!
Lastly, the mango panna cotta. I'm a fan of this dessert! I think there's room for improvement but nonetheless okay.

Too often vegetarian-friendly restaurants tend to over-complicate and over-compensate, but L’Opera Ristorante Italiano by L’Opera Holdings, Inc. is not afraid to let their ingredients shine with a daring simplicity and a passion for flavor. I dined here with my family last Saturday and thought this place is a keeper!

You’d walk out of this venue with a tab that’s lower than what you’d rack up by sharing at a small-plates eatery and those restaurants where you have to nibble. Here, you gorge. To find out what we gorged, read on:

First, we were served with a basket of complementary appetizers which consisted of homemade focaccia bread (four pizza-shaped ones and four regular-shaped bread). The focaccia bread a flat oven-baked Italian bread that’s a wonderful alternative to garlic bread. We topped and flavored it with patie liver spread, black olives purée, sliced tomatoes in olive oil and butter.

The combination tasted surprisingly awesome. What’s good is that you can order unlimited refills of the focaccia bread but of course, don’t be too greedy or you’d be too full to appreciate the main entrées.

After like 30 minutes, the four dishes we ordered came almost simultaneously one after the other. First was the Pizza con verdure grigliate (PHp 460). The name was too hard to pronounce and we were also left speechless after finishing a slice. There were eight slices of this pizza filled with tomatoes, mozarella cheese, grilled eggplant, zucchini and bell peppers. The mozzarella was super oozy, the sauce perfectly tomato-y. We added a touch of salt and pepper to make the pizza more appetizing. The crust and bottom were crispy and thin. It was comforting and hearty and felt really light. For sure, it’s a pie to beat.

Second came our Pasta Vegetarianas: Penne all’ Arrabbiata con Porcini (PHp 360) and Trofie Al Pesto Alla Genovese (PHp 380). Why two pastas in one meal? you ask. Well, my mom’s pasta addiction certainly knows no bounds. We were entranced by the tastes of these pastas.

The Penne all’ Arrabbiata con Porcini was cooked with garlic, basilico, chili and porcini mushrooms in fresh spicy pomodoro sauce. I accidentally ate the chili together with the penne and thought the spiciness was tolerable. The care taken in bringing out every bit of flavor from the tomatoes also was a prime example of what vegetable-centric cooking should be.

We gave another “thumbs up” to the Genova-style pasta with freshly made basil pesto sauce – Trofie Al Pesto Alla Genovese. I mean, there’s nothing like green pasta to brighten up a meal. The taste of pesto was very evident, punctuating the whole dish. This meat-free pasta was extravagant, authentic, and just may be the best if you want to impress your non-vegetarian friends. :)

Lastly we had the Ravioli Ai Funghi Porcini (PHp 390) which was recommended by the staff under the “Pasta Fresca” category. It comprised of seven mushroom-filled ravioli in their porcini mushroom cream sauce. The earthy punch of porcini mushrooms was DIVINE.

Portions of food were bigger than we expected. Essentially, L'Opera Ristorante Italiano served one of the best renditions of pastas and pizzas I’ve come by. Prices of food may be at the high end. Ultimately though, the money-to-happiness ratio was truly a steal!
