1. These are dried noodles, and I prefer these over the soupy kind because I love chewy noodles. The topping of choice was beef and they also give with a side of soup broth. Best part is that it’s free refill.
2. Dumpling was very filling and good quantity for its price. But I prefer the steamed kind.
3. Loved the dumplings. The filling was nice, flavorful, and herby. Must try.
4. Soup has a tomato base very rich and flavorful. This dish is good for two, actually all their main dishes are good for sharing. The noodles are are chewy and bouncy. Highly recommended.

Lan zhou lamien is famous for its handpulled noodles (as their name suggest). We tried the beef lamien, very tender beef and the serving size is probably good for two. If you go to binondo for foodtrip, suggest to order 1 noodle soup for 2-3pax. Tastes is great!
Lan Zhou La Mien serves the BEST kutchay dumplings!!! It makes me almost angry that not many people know/talk about this. So much better than "the best dumplings in Binondo" many people overrate. Tsk.
Hot, Homey, Cheap and Good.
This restaurant caught our attention because of the amount of people dining in and also my companions were craving for noodles.
In terms of service it was like a typical Chinese restaurant, where you need to wave your hands like a crazy person for the servers to notice you. Although they needed much work with their attentiveness with their customers, the food itself came fast and quick.
In terms of food, the braised beef I ordered was very generous with its toppings and beef, the beef itself was very tender and flavourful. Overall the dish itself was pretty solid. The other noodle dish we ordered was also flavourful and quite tasty, the one thing we liked about the food was it was really cheap.
If you find yourself walking around binondo and looking for a good noodle shop, I'm sure you can't go wrong with this one.
At first, it might seem daunting to choose what to order, but when you have a preference, it's a good start. Since I like bihon noodles, I go for the usual Bihon Soup (with pork) and the classic fried dumpling (it's the best dumpling for me!). Giving it 4-stars because the place feels cramped and sometimes the service is slow.
We were actually choosing between Masuki and Lan Zhou La Mien. This place was definitely the good choice! I can consider this as a hidden gem because when you search about Binondo Food Crawls you won't always see this restaurant listed.

Food is delicious. One serving of beef mami is already good for two so we told the waiter to serve it to us in two bowls. There were lots of beef and dumplings. It was really filling.

Amazing fried dumplings! We had the beef and spicy beef noodles, fried dumplings, and squash hopia. Line here can get long, so be early if you don’t wanna line-up. While this can be seen with the ranks of Wai Ying and Ying Ying, Lan Zhou is a much cleaner and friendly place to eat.
The spicy beef noodles were great, the broth is not so beefy though, it tastes more like mala hotpot soup. It is filled with good amount of lean beef brisket pieces and nuts, among others. It’s kinda nutty, which blends well with the spiciness of the broth. The beef noodle broth on the other hand lacks the nutty element of the soup, it’s more beefy than anything else. Noodles were fresh, definitely, you would know. If you finish the noodles, sobrang dami you can no longer eat. Haha! Or, baka humina na kasi ako kumain.
The fried dumplings were just amazing! Fried to perfection, they have generous amount of scallions and meat which were cooked hot and seasoned well without being overbearing. Best with their black vinegar dip.
Squash hopia were more like sweet potato tikoy wrapped with some thin crispy flour. It’s a good dessert.
I would come back, though best beef noodle soup still goes to Ling Nam for me. But, this is definitely worth a try!

I wanted to try Lan Zhou for so long because of their noodles and now I finally did. Maybe I kind of expected too much? It was good, but not like I wanted. I like my noodles thin and a little hard, theirs were somewhat mushy and larger. Eating there early in the morning was the best idea because there weren’t much customers. The beef was really soft, and the pechay was crunchy. The carrots were too soft though. You can have the noodles split into two. Pangbusugan kasi siya, best for big appetites if you are to go solo.
Great place to eat! If you are craving for noodles and just want stuffed one, this place is a good choice. The staff were accommodating and they serve quickly. Their tea for the day was delicious too!
My husband and I were in Ongpin and decided to try some restaurants in the area. Different websites suggested Lan Zhou La Mien and this establishment did not disappoint. We ordered Beef La Mien and Kuchay dumplings, which, according to their server, are two of their bestsellers. The noodles were so good. They have the perfect bite that I always look for in hand-pulled noodles. The serving can easily feed 3 people and this is not an exaggeration. Don't be fooled by their bowl which might look average in size because it is so full of noodles. Five minutes in and my husband and I were already so full! The beef was so tender and the condiments make the broth even better. My husband said it is similar to the noodles he had in Hong Kong. The kuchay dumplings were my favorite. They were filled with pork and vegetables and perfect with the black vinegar. Every bite was so good. We would definitely come back here for more.
For the last stop in our Binondo food trip, I was super full but we couldn’t miss the chinese noodle soup so here we are. I’m really glad we pushed through with this because it saved the whole Binondo food trip. THE SPICY BEEF LIAMEN IS THE BOMB YOU GUYS. YOU.MUST.TRY.IT. I’m not a fan of noodle soup so it says a lot that I loved it!!! The soup was flavorful and you can see that it contains a lot of ingredients inside. Also, this is just one order that was split in two!!! Look how big the serving was. Ahh I can’t wait to be back and try the rest of their menus!!! It’s also nice that the place is not crowded, there were like 1 customer and us so the waiters were attentive.
Good food! Very nice servers. Though ambiance is quite lacking. But it won't matter that much knowing the location of the place. We ordered the beef and pork. We were quite satisfied with the serving. There were a lot of noodles, and we noticed that this is hand made noodles which makes it very special. We also ordered the 15 pcs wanton which was very good. It just a hassle to travel to a place hidden to everyone. But the travel was quite worth it.

I love noodles, how much more HAND PULLED noodles! Best to visit here when you're really hungry because they are generous on the serving! We got beef and chicken and we were not disappointed! Gotta come back when my belly is really rumbling! Highly recommend it! 5star for the food, 3 star for the ambiance. Making it 4star overall!
Never heard of this restaurant before but decided to try since the bestfriend wanted to eat chinese food. Not disappointed at all! Freshly made noodles ( we think so coz we saw them making it lol ) and those dumplings ( oh my goodness! I can still taste them ). I prefer fried and the bestfriend like steamed but for this one I think steamed ones are better since the fried ones are a bit on the tough and dry side. Still delish though.
I've been wanting to go food tripping in Binondo. And tada! I didn't disappoint me!! Yum! I'm definitely coming back here. And I'm looking forward in trying the other lamiens:)

Thick noodles and flavorful soup. One order is already good for 2 people so for the price you pay you really get your moneys worth. Their serving of siomai was also a lot. I think we had 5 pieces each.
Nothing beats walking around Binondo on a Sunday afternoon and we really look forward to sampling the beef noodle soup at Lan Zhou La Mien. The servers were attentive. They gave us hot tea and service water promptly while waiting for our food. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for our order to be served. The soup was tasty and the beef was tender. The total cost for the 2 beef noodle soup was 320 Pesos which is relatively cheap.
I love their hand pulled noodle. very affordable and the texture of their noodle is really good. I will definitely go back here. I think they have 2 branches in binondo. one somewhere in benevidez street and the other one is located in Lucky China Town. try it.

Tip: You could order one lamien and ask them to split it for two people. The serving is more than enough to fill you up + it's cheaper than ordering two separate lamiens.
The food was amazing and even if the space was on the simple side, everything was really clean and tidy. The service was great as well. I suggest that you order less than you would think to order because the servings are large. Would definitely come back again.
Prices have increased since their opening a few years back, although it can still be considered affordable. I personally like their steamed dumplings and their stir-fried noodles, aside from the usual beef noodles.
So this my 2nd dine at Lan Zhou. All I can say is super worth it! ❤️

During my first dine here, I ordered the Beef La Mien which was classic! Superb taste! I also try their egg fried rice which was nice too. And also their fried dumpling (but I prefer the Dong Bei dumplings because its way more cheaper than here in Lan Zhou)
On my second dine, I ordered the Pork La Mien, as for my friend he ordered the Tito La Mien, both were also good. We also ordered the Cha Chiang Mien and it was heaveeeen! 😋
The part that I didn’t like was their servers. Some of them were unsure of their menu they cannot recommend their best seller dishes. 😭😭
Overall, my experience with Lan Zhou La Mien was dynamite! Oh, did I mention that they have free hot tea too? Hihihi 🤤

Of all the places that I read in maybe 5 blogs, only Lan Zhou La Mien did not disappoint. Their Beef Lamien is so good and their Steamed Dumplings are a revelation. They also served free Tea, so it’s a plus for me since I dig free stuff. Hahaha. We did not order much but we will surely come back.
Big serving and totally satisfying especially if you're a heavy eater. We ordered spicy beef lamien, and I would totally recommend it! A bowl of lamien for only Php 140-170.

After our short Banawe Food Trip, we decided to go to Binondo already. First up on our list is Lan Zhou La Mien. We actually had a hard time while looking for the place. We kept on asking different people along the area where it was. After 20 minutes, we finally saw the place! Apparently, the big signage of the restaurant were in Chinese characters. The english name wasn't that obvious. Just a tip if you plan to go here: it's beside the original Wai Ying restaurant.
When we arrived here, good thing we were able to find a seat. From reviews we've seen, the place usually gets jampacked. We also found out that they are actually hand-pulled noodles as their way of method.
My cousin & I decided to have our separate bowls. My cousin ordered the Beef La Mien while I ordered their Mixed Beef La Mien. The only difference is that there's additional toppings like dumplings. The Mixed Beef La Mien costs 190php while the Beef La Mien costs 140php. In fairness, I still find it cheap due to the size of the bowl, how juicy their beef is & how flavorful their broth and noodles is. You can definitely expect us to go back here! But this time, we will be sharing a bowl by then.

If you're looking for a place to eat--a Chinese Restaurant to be specific, this place suits you. They serve the bests of bests. Foods are delicious and mabubusog ka talaga.

Tao Chao Guisado (spareribs toppings) for the win paired with dumplings! The noodles are fresh and very tasty. Just add up chili oil and it is perfect! Very friendly staff.
The broth was so rich and the noodles were great, everything was perfect except for the Egg Chaw Fan.
I was really disappointed for that particular dish because it tasted sa plain, I mean I was expecting a blast of flavor but it's just plain stir fried rice with a bit of veggies, egg and luncheon meat bits. It's like a waste of Php 220 for me.

Very far from Chinatown just need to walk patiently go to Ongpin St. What i love the most here was the uniqueness of the place was really great and clean. The Ramen was really good especially their pork spicy. :)
Tried it at 168 mall branch!! Legit chinese food. 👍🏻 Firm noodles with rich flavorful soup. They serve their noodles in a big bowl which ks good for two. Kutchay dumplings are the best!!!! 😩 They also sell frozen dumplings, siomai, siopao. etc.
At first, we are so hesistant to come inside this resto bec the name is written in chinese i think. But good thing we did. The noodles that we ate was something that i think will drag me back to that place, i forgot the name kasi ang hirap imemorize haha but i'll have the picture attached and not just that, ang affordable nun like 170 and the serving was hefty, i thought mga good for 1 lang, good for 3 pala. Then yung pork dumpling nila na sulit din 200 for 15 pcs. Medyo nakapalan lang ako sa balat nung dumpling pero masarap siya. And for the 2 of us, less than 500 lang and we were able to take out pa for our other friend. The serving and the taste was so sulit for the price.
And I'm already thinking of coming back and trying some more of binondo :)

I never get tired of this place. I always enjoy my half-order of fried dumplings and Beef La Mien if not the Kan Pan. This place serves hand-pulled noodles so expect them to be thick, chewy, and fun to eat off chopsticks. In fact, it's good chopstick training here!
They usually serve their food with hot tea. You may ask for free soup. Space is tight so there may be times you'll need to share tables, which is perfectly fine.
This jew in Binondo is a God send. Bouncy, chewy noodles. Savory thick sauce to coat the noodles. Heaping chopped chives. Some light broth to cleanse your palate ever so often. What added to the charm of this dish is its' generous serving size and affordability!

Whenever we’re tired or stressed, a bowl of noodles is where we usually pull closer to. It’s that warm and filling goodness that makes us feel like we’re getting a well deserved hug. In the heart of the bustling district of Binondo, the Chinatown of Manila, lies this great place to get some great bowl of noodles: Lan Zhou La Mien.
As a regular visitor, I'd like to recommend this restaurant. First, it is very economical and time-saving. When I am starving, i hate staring at waiters and watching dishes served to other tables. Also they provide you hot tea, which is quite Chinese traditional courtesy. Second, the flavor is enjoyable, not some local and chinese blending style. The share is almost enough for one adult unless the appetite is super good. Third, it is easy to find. As far as i know two are located both in Chinatown area. Quite standing out in the street.
Would keep on going back for those freshly hand pulled noodles.... And the dumpling... It feels like Heaven with every bite... Better to be shared due to big servings. But surely worth it.
One of my favorite Noodle House. You must try their Beef La Mien. It is very tasty and savory. A bowl is good for two. But if you are hungry, you could finish up the whole bowl. Hihihi. Their Steamed Vegetable Dumpling is also a must try. It is served with a special sour sauce which complements well with the dumpling. You will also be served with unlimited Jasmine hot tea.
We were going to Divisoria and decided to stop by Chinatown for I was then having the biggest hankering for Chinese food. I've seen good reviews of Lan Zhou La Mien in the net, and so we decided to go there. We ended up getting lost and stumbled upon an annex branch located in Fernandez st. (?) Near Divisoria Mall. The noodles were being made as we entered the humble restaurant, only a few tables. I must commend the staff though because they were very attentive and all smiles. We tried the Chicken Kan Pan La Mien, The Beef La Mien and the Steamed Dumplings because I always order sides. We expected good noodles and Lan Zhou La Mien did not disappoint. They served a hefty serving of noodles, and were chewy just the way I liked them. The biggest discovery though is the STEAMED DUMPLINGS. I could eat them all day. They were the most delicious dumplings I had at this price.
We ordered their best seller beef lamien and kutchay (dumpling) .. the beef lamien was good , it taste like chowking beef noodle but the serving of noodle makes it special cause it so big for 140 pesos, you can share it for 2 person already.. The steam kutchay (dumpling) was not so good .
One of their bestsellers is the Beef Lamien. For only P140, you can get a warm bowlful of flavorsome beef broth, soft and thick noodles, topped with tender meaty beef cubes with carrots and some greens. The overall experience was delectably appetizing. The staff are nice with amicable and inviting personality. Once you enter the vicinity they'll greet you with a welcome smile and sit you to your table. Right away menus are given to you as well as a glass of hot tea. This place is considered as one of the many Chinese food chains to visit when in Binondo.

Their beef la mien is a must-try. With flavourful broth and über-tender beef meat, you'll surely want a whole bowl just for yourself. The noodles are also perfectly cooked, not too soggy yet not undercooked. It's also cheap considering that their serving size is huge!
Tried their branch inside Lucky Chinatown (more authentic branch is found nearer to my place), and was satisfied that I did. I ordered the Beef Wanton La Mien (PHP190) - first time to try La Mien dish. There's a lot of seasonings/condiments available at the table but the broth was already tasty as is. Generous serving of the wanton and beef as well, and their all very delicious.

It was my first time eating at Lan Zhou La Mien but I already heard about it from my friends before. They said that it's a must try restaurant - well cos it really is! I ordered their Beef Lamien (P140) because it was recommended for me. The soup was very tasty and the meat was tender. You can also add more kuchay and chopped onion leaks to your desire. Lastly, what most people don't know, I think, you can ask for their beef broth and add it to your soup if you want it to be more beefy. If you're in Chinatown, be sure to drop by this restaurant!
Celebrated chinese new year here. we ordered uhmm.. beef and wonton, the hand-streched noodle thing we saw outside the store (which is i think a plus to the store attracting/letting the people outside passing buy sees what they sell inside). very yummy, (savory umami) (and infact i saw how it is done) they used special broth from bones thats why its great. the price is very reasonable and affordable seing serving portion is gastronomically deathly unless otherwise youre as hungry as hell. i didnt get to finish mine (im so done omg) and my friend got to take it out. thumbs up.

The place is spacious. Airconditioned. Somewhat clean. I had the seafood La Mian. The fish was good, though the shrimp and soup were okay. It's a good place to try while in Binondo/Chinatown.

If I'm not mistaken, it's my 6th dine in this resto. Though their place is not inviting (a carinderia-like), I make sure I eat at this place whenever I go to Divi or Binondo for some other reasons. They have the best noodles. From the entrance, you'll see their kitchen where the noodle-maker seems to have an exhibition. :) He is making noodles by hand. Wow! Their steamed dumplings are a must try. You can never go wrong with their steamed dumplings dipped into special vinegar with garlic. Their yang chow's superb! The beef lamien and steamed dumplings are constants in my order.
I really do love their lamien guisado and wanton lamien.... Must go to place if ur craving one of these...also love their steam dumpling....

Compared to almost every other Chinese restaurant in the area, this place surprisingly has servers who are very polite and accommodating. They instantly entertained us and gave us hot tea after we were seated. We tried the Pork kan pan lamien (150php)- which was tasty but I think would do better if it had more sauce, and Beef lamien (140php)- highly recommended. The beef was soft and the broth was very flavorful. Both had generous servings and can be shared with a small group.
My wife and I have been to Xiamen already. Eating in Lan Zhou La Mien is like visiting China once again. Great authentic dumplings and handmade noodles at an affordable price.
This restaurant was not actually part of our itinerary but when we dined here, we had no regrets.
We went here just today to pre-celebrate Chinese New Year and we were totally satisfied. Food was superb, budget-friendly and the serving of each meal was actually good for 2. A must visit when in Binondo. :)
I wouldn't hesitate to go here again to eat noodles. The noodles were handmade and cooked al dente. Each bowl has a generous serving of noodles. The broth was also good and you may add soy sauce and other ingredients to add more taste. The prices were affordable, too.
Beef and wanton la mien is very good. Proportion is good for sharing. Their hand-made noodles are fresh and ypu can watch as they make them. To truly get that Binondo experience, you gotta try this place. Way better and cleaner than some food places here in Chinatown.

Very affordable place! Their beef noodle soup, which is their bestseller, is good and cheap. The dumplings could be better but good enough for the price.
Here is a noodle house where i can assure you that you will be full "sobrang busog" for less than 150 pesos. Coz their serving is good for two for the price of one hahahaha i love this place... Their steam kuchai dumpling is superb 12 pcs for 150 but you can order half hahaha

Simple. If you want a quick, cheap, and filling go-to place, Lan Zhou La Mien is the place to go.
It is a quaint shop along San Fernando Street, across Citibank that offers traditional hand-pulled and knife-shredded noodles made fresh upon order. Only a few seats available, but they also have a spacious second floor.
Each bowl costs between 120-180 but will leave you satisfied with the delicious soup, chewy noodles, and filling serving. Personally, I prefer their hand-pulled over the knife shredded version as the former has better texture. I usually order either plain, dumpling, or wanton noodle soup. Next would probably be spareribs noodle soup. They also offer steamed/fried dumplings thats loaded with veggies and a yummy dipping sauce. They now ventured into new stir-fried versions and other noodle variants like bihon and sotanghon.
They offer free delivery around the area too.
I always visit this place . This is an authentic Mainland China's foods . Foods are great . The place is a bit small and always crowded . ..so that is the only thing i don't like . Portions are getting smaller as years pass by even if they have increase the prices .
I am not at all a fan of mami noodles but I'm definitely coming back! We asked the server for the best seller but I went with Spareribs Lamien instead of the Beef Lamien but it did not disappoint at all. Most noodles I've had have no taste but this had just enough flavor that goes well with the juicy and tender meat. The soup was neither too salty or too bland. All 3 ingredients mix so well together that these are the only mami noodles I would recommend to anyone. Their chili oil is also delicious and goes well with the soup.
The place has been completely renovated so it lost it's "Binondo" old restaurant vibe. Decorations are minimal but like it matters when their noodles are delicious! Unfortunately I did not get to try the other items as we were on a Binondo food trip. I'll definitely be going there and bringing more people along so they don't miss out.
I have waited a long time to try their dumplings again. Boy, it really was worth the wait. Super delicious veggie dumpling. Four people feasted on one order each of fresh noodle soup, bihon and dumpling all for P440.00 with free hot tea. Ill be back !
Best noodle house that I tried and very affordable! Wanton Lamien and beef lamien so the best! Dont forget to try their dumplings. Good service sila and when you asked for extra broth they will give you free no extra charge. Sulit!

Selections - They only have noodles and few other dumplings. We ordered the Beef Lamien and the Dumpling Lamien. Both were great and filling! I wasn't even able to finish mine (Beef Lamien). The dumplings were incredible! authentic!
Most of the reviews miss the the main course, I suggest to try Ba Bao Sha Guo Beef Lamien on clay pot. This hand pulled noodles are awesome plus many varieties of sidings inside clay pot aside on beef on top. Although the ambiance is not quite good, the important is that (in my opinion) it is "bang for the buck".

We had Beef Lamien and Lamien Guisado with Spareribs topping as per server's recommendation.
Both were good but not equally good for me. Though I am a soup-based noodle fan, Lamien Guisado caught the heart of my tummy! (Yes, my tummy has its own heart :-))
I could not exactly explain why but I love this Lamien Guisado so much! I love every bit of it.
As for the Beef Lamien, like I've said it was good but I had better.
The servers were commendable. Very attentive and friendly.
Will surely be back here.
FOOD - Must try their Beef Lamien and Steam/Fried Dumplings! They are known for their hand-pulled noodles. Rest assured you'll be served nothing but freshness.
ATMOSPHERE - Their place is near Binondo Church and it looks just a little inconspicuous. Nothing fancy, just a place to have really good noodles. Their interior could use a little improvement though.

Located near the Binondo church, this hole in the wall restaurant gave us a satisfying dining experience. Expect the place to be the typical restos in the area but apart from this, it's all uphill.
Hand-pulled noodles, the highlight of this place and it sure did not disappoint. We ordered Beef Lamien (Beef Mami), Spare Ribs Lamien (had mostly bone in beef though; bones were too big), Lamien Seafood Guisado. We also had their fried and steamed dumplings that went so well with their black vinegar. All that we ordered were delicious. The broth was yummy and will keep you coming back for more. Service was fast and the staff friendly.
...and did I mention that prices ranged from Php120-Php180 per order? True value for money.
Lan Zhou La Mien is famous for its hand-pulled noodles. Must try here are their beef lamien, steam dumplings, fried dumplings. This place is usually packed. The freshly made noodles made it even more appealing.
