One of my favorite dimsum place specially during their off peak promo where all dimsums and some other dishes has a discount. They have good dimsums, their chili sauce is the bomb. The only problem is when it gets busy, its very hard to get the attention of the waiters and they often forget your requests.

The last time I was here was more than ten years ago, but what a pleasant surprise to come back for their breakfast dimsum and to find that things haven't changed! Still the same delicious siomai (sharksfin and pork), beef balls (one of my faves!), raddish cake, kuchai dumplings, noodles and bola bola lugaw! Wow! My only lament was that they discontinued their chungfan (asado or shrimp rice noodles in soy sauce which can rival Tim Ho Wan's. My favorite was the one in peanut sauce.)Β And guess what! They've got a breakfast promo where almost all items are half-priced from 7 am to 11am!Β
I hold a great deal of sentimentality for this resto because it was a family favorite for years. Loved it then, still love it now. ^_^
Sobrang sulit ng dimsum dito lalo pag promo (there are certains times of the day like merienda wherein the dimsums are 30% off i think).
You can never go wrong with hakaw, beancurd roll, and siomai! Its as authentic as it gets. But I would love to try the hot pot next time!
If I weren't on a food trip in Binondo which requires me trying diff restos, I'll eat here and I'd be full! The dimsum quality and taste just as good as any authentic chinese resto in Binondo but what sets Golden Fortune apart is its cleanliness, ambience, convenience, good airconditioning and spacious dining area, variety of food and the price point.
What they need to improve on is the service time lang (arrival of food and bill, getting attention of servers for water, sawsawan or calamansi), thats it!
For a quick dinner with my family, we visited our old-time favorite restaurant this time not for shabu shabu but for dim sum and Chinese comfort food. Golden Fortune's congee, Japanese siomai, sharks fin dumpling, radish cake, and noodles are really one of the best we've ever tried.
The noisy ambiance can be a downside but it's a usual environment that needs getting used to if you're not yet familiar. But the incredible food tastes help ensure that everyone leaves happy. Their dim sum is authentic and delicious, drawing throngs to the huge dining room. There are no clever twists but plain classic goodness.
Prices are also great for a "real-deal" dim sum. Despite a nondescript interior design and no-frills service, Golden Fortune is still one of our top restaurants in mind whenever we want Chinese food in Chinatown whether it's to celebrate a special occasion or just a family bonding over good food. Go early or really late to avoid a long wait.

A former friend invited us for diner. He told us we're dining at Golden Fortune. And it got us very excited knowing the delicious food we're about to eat.
I was able to dine here with my family before. But I was already half full that time I joined them. So now's my chance to savour the moment. I was thinking of the patatim, buttered chicken, steamed live lapu2x and lobster.
But when we arrived, I was surprised that we got other company. I thought it's just the 4 of us. But we're 10 now, including others.
I thought how can this "hot air" invited a table of 10, knowing his reputation of being also a national cheapskate. (Nabigla lang sya, kasi umangat nang konti ang buhay nila, kaya naging sobrang mayabang. That's also the reason ubos lahat kaibigan nya.) But we were wrong that time. Because he ordered hot pot shabu-shabu. And it really is a lot cheaper compared to ala carte dinner.
He only ordered 2 sets. But added 2-3 other stuffs in the boiling soup base afterwards. It tasted very good, the thinly sliced beef, several variety of dimsum alike. The pot was empty clean later. We were all very full after our dinner.
We stayed at the 2nd floor, and the place was full that time. All the tables were fully occupied. Some other tables were like fiesta. Their voice will be heard downstairs and vice versa.
Golden Fortune is highly recommended. Delicious healthy dinner. We will return some other time, minus the hot air.
We had a family event that was held on this place. At first I was like "Meh, just another hotpot joint". I was craving for some shabu-shabu crazeness that time and I gave this restaurant a shot.
I was not disappoint, when the orders arrived and the pot begins boiling, the fun part starts! I quickly threw in some beef, corns and veggies in the pot and let the pot do the rest while we chow on other stuff. The servings of the ala-carte dishes are generous and the test are truly oriental. The servers are attentive and cheerful.
The restaurant vibe is very busy because you will see servers running around from time to time which is acceptable but the dangers are still need to be checked because they are carrying hot pots, one slip and you're done. Definitely a great experience and I can't wait to go back.

If you have a big chinese family who loves to eat, this is a good place to bring them. They have live seafood which includes sharks. Worth every penny
Our all time favorite restaurant in Binondo. The service is fast and the servers are helpful and accommodating. Food portions are great for sharing and you can choose between small, medium and large portions. We come here after 9:00 pm to avail of the discounted rates for shabu shabu. If you are shabu shabu addicts like us, don't fail to try their cheese balls (just be careful when biting into it when it's hot as it has melted cheese inside!). The ambiance is better considering it is newly renovated. Dimsums are great too and are part of the discounted rate late at night!

At 9pm, the whole place signifies it's time for their promotion. The wait staff claps, it's time to have dimsum at 30% discount. We got the usual Hakao and Radish Cake. We also tried Lobster Ball and Kinchay Dumpling. All four were legit good and way too affordable.
The real reason why we went here though was for their Peking Duck. It's only Php 1,400 for two way. Usually it's served only whole in other Chinese restaurants. Golden Fortune's duck was incredibly leaner than usual and it had significantly more meat than fat. Despite of this, it was still tasty and juicy.
Even the second way, minced diced duck meat on a bed of crisp noodles were delicious. Since we were full, we skipped the traditional way of having it wrapped in lettuce. Mind you we were just two.
For dessert, we got classic Almond Jelly as complimentary. Apparently, you get it free for every purchase of Php 700 or so. It was a nice addition to an already memorable evening. Since I was also craving for Mango Sago, I had that as well. It was even better, fresh mangoes with nice pops of tapioca and not overly sweet.
With its huge gold and white sign definitely a stand out from other restaurants in Binondo.
My boyfriend is fil-chi and I always ask him to bring me to Binondo for our dose of Chinese food. He always brings me here strictly for dim sums only.
We always order out usual hakaw, siopao, chixmcken feet, lobster balls, mantao, and almond and black gulaman. We always try to add different dim sums every time.
I don't really know much about authentic Chinese food but this is definitely a go too place. ππΌ
Dine with my friend on Sunday at the first time came here, but after that we always come here on Saturday morning coz of have discount π cozy ambiance and relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for having chit chats after go back from Seng Guan Temple ππ»π

Food was delicious. Very affordable.
The restaurant was very clean and the staffs were very friendly.
What we waited is the promo time at 9pm. The hotpot menu items were less 30%. It was good and filling. The meat and veggies were fresh.
Con/s:
The soup base was kinda salty so we add a little bit of water to it, so no problem.
Some of the plates and bowls were kinda chipped.
Overall, I think our money was well spent considering our full tummies.
Really comfortable clean restaurant (one of the cleanest here in manila) with a very tasty chinese food. Really love their sweet sour fish. Nice aquarium with lots of baby shark. A little bit late on the service but still ok.
Golden fortune is like the typical Chinese restaurant that displays their seafood menu in an aquarium. Food wasn't that bad but their service, however, made a mark on us. We ate here for Mother's day, and the people were greeting all of their customers. Plus, they gave complementary desserts, and a rose for every mom that ate in their restaurant. π
Golden Fortune serves delicious and authentic Chinese dishes. They offer a wide selection of seafoods, pork, beef and vegetable dishes. I love the tofu dishes here. This place is also a great choice for breakfast. Congees and dimsums here are also good.
I can't mention the dishes that I've eaten here since we were just invited for a family dinner (that means it's free!) so I'll just rate my overall dining experience. All foods that was served to us are great! It's so appetizing from the vegetables, seafoods up to their meat, it's so rich in flavor. You just need to eat quick because another batch of food will come in.
Started with fish lips soup, served hot and seasoned just right. No over powering taste. I loved it. Ordered steamed suahe,.... there's a chunky feel into your bite, really fresh. 300ph for 300 grams, nor bad. Fresh shrimps are best eaten steamed , so simple yet good. Fried oysters was seasoned and battered pleasantly. Cooked in " fresh" oil, I hate eating food cooked from rancid oil. The seafood hofan was flavorful. The rice noodles cooked just right, It was a satisfying lunch. But best of all, service attendants were very alert considering it was a full house.And best of all , free white almond dessert for each of us!!!!

went to this chinese restaurant since i was craving for dimsum, was so lucky they have a promotion where you can get the dimsum for a lower price between 2pm to 5:30pm.. staffs are acomodating, they are always attentive. will definitely come back to this place. ambiance feels very much like chinese restaurants in southern china
ahh. the best place for shabu shabu. everything is a must try. i mean dump everything and be happy. :) sate sauce is one of the best in town if not the best. though you might wanna watch out for sipping too much soup as it can get you very thirsty afterwards- just saying. but nevertheless yummy.

I always go here with friends to eat shabu shabu during their promo which is from 9pm til closing time. They have the best saute sauce! i kept on coming back because of it. A must try. :)
i always buy dimsum from this restaurant - binondo branch, it's delicious and inexpensive during their promo period. their siomai is their hot seller, you have to wait for them to steam them though once they're out of it & they always run out of it during the promo period
i don't mind the wait, have to wait in other chinese restaurant too since most chinese cuisines are cooked as you order, the siomai takes 15mins to steam, as for the service, they're fine and accommodating
however if you're the bad tempered type who thinks you're time is worth ranting & dishing the hard working waiters of the restaurant over, then you should call ahead and have your orders readied, it takes only a phone call to avoid such trashy worthless drama!!!
