The food here is great. Price is a bit high but worth it. Premium Moonlight Oko was really great, something you would try. The fruit juice is like halo-halo but better. Takoyaki is just ok.
Restaurant ambiance is very relaxing.
We like the Garlic Rice with Bacon and Egg, and the other rice meals we bought. Will probably go back for Garlic Rice
The marinated maguro ricebowl with lettuce and avocado salad was very good. The tuna - as in the case of sashimi - was raw, but the hot rice undeneath heated it just enough to achieve a subtle cooking effect. Served with nori flakes and optional bonito flakes. The interior, especially the seating design is well thought out. Service was precise and efficient.
The branch in SM Megamall is a bit small but perfect for a small group get-together or even on solo flight. Because of my curiosity as to why it's one of the best Japanese okonomiyaki restaurants here in Metro Manila, I would say that it's true.
All of them are awesome in terms of taste and appearance. Adding either more fish flakes, seaweed or even okonomiyaki sauce helps improve the taste.
The thing that I always look for whenever I get to visit restaurants is to know if the food is worth its price and Botejyu did! It lived up to my expectation. We've been wanting to try it here for a long time and I'm just glad we did. I'm just happy to know that whenever I crave for authentic Japanese food I can just go here anytime. Plus plus points here is the serving of their food -huge! I can't almost finish mine or probably we just ordered a lot. Lol! Whole experience here is 12/10 for me! Love to go back here!
I ordered their 50% off promo of takoyaki original and also ordered green tea ice cream. It was good but might be better if more vegetables added. The ice cream was creamy. Overall it was good.
Went here during our 1st visit to SM Megamall because their okonomiyaki looks so great! It taste delicious as well. The portion is rather small though so we order 3 dishes just for two of us.
We're supposed to eat in another japanese restaurant but it was closed so we deided to try this last Christmas. Everything we ordered was delicious! They have great food options. Customer service also was great they were all super nice and helpful. I would like to come back to try the other food as well!

An underrated Japanese restaurant.
Shrimp Okonomiyaki is good however I personally think they use frozen shrimps instead of fresh ones. Not really a big deal cause it still tastes good.
We also frequently order the Cheese Omelette Takoyaki. Its not the traditional Takoyaki order but we just really love cheese so this is perfect for us. Careful when you bite into these cause the inside is always pipping hot!
And my ultimate favourite here is their Chicken Karaage! Its has a garlicky flavour that goes so well with their rice set of rice + onion soup + kimchii.
Condiments, including Oko sauce and Katsuobushi are available in youR table and can be used to your liking. Ambience is average, nothing really special. The aisle are narrow and can be an inconvenience if you’re bringing in strollers/wheel chair. However, the “outside” seating is more spacious. Can accommodate big-group seating arrangements. Attentive service crew. No in-house toilet but the mall toilets are located just across.
Food is great. Ordered Pork Ramen, Curry Katsu and Okonomiyaki (no pic because we ate it once served). Serving is also good for 1-2 persons (it depends). No need to wait in line for hours. The servers are pretty attentive and kind to us. All in all we love our dining experience here.
Food was enjoyable! But what I especially loved was the All-Star Takoyaki. It’s got all these different flavors and sauces. All the bowl meals we ordered were delicious and filling. Service was great. They were really courteous and attentive. The okonomiyaki is definitely a must-try!
It was the family's first time in Botejyu. We were intrigued by the restaurant's name. We initially thought it sounded more Indian than Japanese....

I love love love Japanese food so having dinner here made me excited. We ordered lots of things too, so that we can try an assortment of their dishes. There are a few things that you can skip though, as these were average (taste-wise) and not super special ~ such as the tempura maki, and the garlic bacon and egg rice (just regular fried rice, ordered a side of curry sauce to make it taste better). The seafood yakisoba is to skip too, it tasted like regular spaghetti to me. The beef steak was a bit on the high side (pricey), but I found the meat a bit tough and flavorless. The things I liked are: the tempura ~ I'm very bias when it comes to tempura, but this one hits the spot because the batter is actually good, making the tempura have a crunchy and fluffy exterior. The takoyaki is really good too, the agedashi with the japanese mayonnaise and the octopus inside is really good. And of course, the mochi and cheese okonomiyaki. We ordered the one with just the pork, and gouda cheese, because we didn't want the other items to overpower the taste of the batter. To me, tasty okonomiyaki is dependent on its batter. I really love the okonomiyaki because the mochi is stretchy so it goes perfectly well with the cheese. If I do come back to eat here, I would just order their okonomoiyakis, and the tempura.

We had dinner here last Saturday night. We ordered 2 kinds of Takoyaki, the original and the Umami Sauce and Mayo. We also had Premium Okosoba and Ebi Roll. The food was good. Takoyaki were serve hot and the taste reminded me of the Takoyaki I had in Osaka. The Okosoba is highly recommended. The serving size was very generous. Staff were very friendly and courteous. I would go back and try other offers in their menu.
Grabbed some dinner with friends. The place is quite full so we ended up eating outside.
We ordered the Crispy Salad, Amiyaki, Takoyaki and the Hiyashime. I’m satisfied with the taste especially the salad.
Service is okay and price is reasonable. One of your perfect go-to if you want a taste of Japan. Perfect place for friends going out on a Friday night.
I love their takoyaki especially the one that has a pink sauce on top 😍 and they all have big servings of food. Overall the foods are so delicious, the price is worth it 😉 I also love their green apple and cucumber shake 👍 Staffs are so accommodating as well and I can't say anything bad in this restaurant 😁😁 You can also see how chefs cook and prepare your food and you are sure that the food they are serving is clean. Botejyu is a Japanese restaurant which originated in Osaka. The name was coined from the rhythmic cooking sound if okonomiyaki. “Bote” comes from the flipping sound of the okonomiyaki and “Jyu” represents the sizzling sound as it cooks on the teppan grill.
The service was great, the staff were friendly and efficient. But, the food were just fine. Ofcourse, we ordered their famous Premium Moonlight Okonomiyaki which is good. Then, we also had the All-Star Takoyaki, Shrimp Tempura Platter, and Beef Kalbi Sukiyaki Yakisoba.
I am not really familiar with most Japanese cuisine except for sushis and teriyakis so thumbs up to the waitress for giving us an idea on what to order. The food was great! The mixed seafood okonomiyaki was light and tasty! This restaurant is definitely a must-try!!!
Place is spacious and comfy for two people in a couch. Rice bowl was huge with generous serving of salad , sunny side up egg and tender meat. I love the presentation, it is very appetizing and delicious.No need for condiments since food is already tasty. As for the dessert, I ordered Honey toast with sugar brown syrup and creamy kinako (soybean powder). It was just a toasted bread with creamy vanilla ice cream and caramel. Nothing special, but I love that it is not too sweet.

(F): The okonomiyaki here has different varieties and definitelt a must-try! For the other food, maybe not ad memorable as the okonomiyaki. We had a 1 time experience of having takoyaki that tasted burnt, though it did not look burnt.
(A)mbience: there is a weird thing in their couch are where there is a space between your back and your actual seat. Did not bother asking but may be a place to put your things? The place is a little small and cramped up specially when there are many people eating.
(B)utler Service: all servers are nice and attentive.
A Japanese restaurant which specializes in okonomiyaki, Botejyu originated from Osaka, Japan and has been serving the cuisine at various locations in Japan since 1946 and now has found its was to the Philippines. It now has 3 branches in Metro Manila.
Not much a fan of the place because I found the food to be forgettable but they do serve decent food. It's just that there's a lot of restaurants with the same cuisine and concept already. Prices were also okay (basing on the serving size).

Char-siu Pork and Egg and Beef and Tamagotoji Egg Rice Bowls || Both are filling and delicious. The salad dressing perfectly matches the taste of the flavours of both dishes. Good value for money.
What's not good about this experience was that we were asked to move to the other table because they had to get the condiments. Though we have finished our meals and they have bussed out the plates already, perhaps the staff should have just asked if they could get the condiments and let us remain where we were seated. We were turned off by that so we just had to ask for our bill, pay, and leave.
Very clean and tidy. Ambience a little sterile - maybe because only 3 other paying customers. Attentive staff. Wide menu choice. Tokoyaki very good and served hot. Okonomyaki 20 minute wait but strangely was not hot. Bit insipid - no real taste unless you added some condiments. Yakisoba served quickly but too much salt and rather generous amount of cooking oil.
Overall experience was OK but not great or inspiring to return. Ippudo on Level 4 a much better experience in my opinion.....
So one day I was thinking, "should I try Gringo's or Botejyu? I went for the latter and it was okay. Hoping to find that 'WOW' factor here, but their pork cutlet was basic(it was huge, tho), and had to be saved by a side order of curry. All was not lost... their Original Takoyaki is out-effin'-standing, I almost ordered a second serving, if only it weren't on the pricey side! Hmm. Maybe I'll give this joint another shot soon. Order something else, and hope to be WOWED again.
Loved the grilled pork donburi!!!! I was not expecting such a great meal... but the from the first bite of the perfectly seasoned meat to the sesame dressed salad, every bite was just awesome. The signature mix fruit juice is also nice, but mine seem to resemble a banana shake rather than a mixed fruit drink. Nontheless, I will definitely be back to try their signature dishes (okonomiyaki & yakisoba) very soon!
Super loved the Original Takoyaki. There was also a container full of bonito flakes on the table. Will definitely come back for this. A bit pricey but definitely tasty!
Chicken Karaage was also good. I'm just hoping that there will be more mayo or sauce to add flavor. :)

Had their paitan ramen with char siu and original takoyaki. Takoyaki was good, but nothing special (at least for me). The soup base for ramen is less salty than most ramen shops I've tried, which is good because it lessens the 'umay' factor when you're about to finish your bowl. I also like that the carrots and other toppings were julienned (very fine, long strips) and added some crunch . The char siu topping gave a bit of smoky flavor to the dish, but its too fatty.
Looking at their menu, I think they are known for their okonomiyaki. But I did not have an appetite for okonomiyaki today. Will probably visit again to try okonomiyaki next time.

Okonomiyaki is one of the trending dishes/food lately. This maybe my third restaurant I've visited which serves Okonomiyaki. I went to Botejyu Authentic Japanese Cuisine in SM Atrium, SM Megamall before watching the gay theme movie of Metro Manila Film Festival 2016 Die Beautiful starring Paolo Ballesteros.
Botejyu was a franchise from Japan. It was originally established in Osaka in year 1946 which specialized Okonomiyaki and Okosoba. They have 2 branches in the Philippines one in SM Megamall and one in SM Mall of Asia.
I got Pork Okonomiyaki for Php345.00 and I add Php90.00 for Rice, Soup and Kimchi. Compared to the other Okonomiyaki restaurant that you will see how it was cooked or they will cook the Okonomiyaki in front of you. Botejyu will served the Okonomiyaki cooked already in a hot plate. By the way, they have an open kitchen if you want to see how your Okonomiyaki was cooked.

Botejyu is a well established Okonomiyaki brand in Japan with over 100 restaurants in their country. They recently partnered with Viva International for their Philippine branches. Last December 2016, they opened their 2nd shop at SM Megamall's atrium. The brand provides Kansai's best dishes boasting of their Okonomiyaki and Okosoba variants. They also offer all time favorites like Yakisoba, Gyoza, Takoyaki (with real Octopus), and Edamame. We tried pork, seafood, and mochi variants of Okonomiyaki. I was with my Japanese guests and they said the taste was really authentic for the Okonomiyaki. The Takoyaki had very little octopus and they said it was so-so. The Yakisoba used noodles that seemed a little too thick. Edamame should be a no brainer to make, so it was fine. The Gyoza was flavorful and seemed to be prepared Kansai-style. It was a very good experience but they ran out of Asahi beers quicky though. Service was ok but their staff did not smile much.
They have really amazing Ramen. It was really delicious. For me, it's better than Ramen Nagi. Their Takoyaki is the best I've tasted so far. Kinda crispy on the outside and very flavorful.
