By far this is the best ramen I tasted. Not to mention they have the friendliest staff! Only thing is the place is a little hot when people starts to crowd in especially during lunch time when the sun is high. But otherwise it's really the best ramen I tasted! Not to mention their gyoza... Its really heavenly delicious and cooked perfectly!
Moved here in US for more than 2 years and haven’t found the best ramen as Ramen Daisho, it’s still the best Ramen in the !!! Very authentic not to mention the silky noodles . This will be my first stop when we go back in the Philippines - susie (Ariel’s wife)
a top 5 ramen in the metro for me. the best in miso ramen. the taste makes you think that you're back in Japan. i like the set menu offerings here.
Super love this place. They serve the best ramen in the city. Authentic flavor and very kind staff. Looking forward to my next visit and finishing my 2nd tomodachi card.
Awesome food, friendly staff and owner! one of our go-to places for good, authentic ramen! (and they have friendly cats outside! i love places that also take care of animals. ^_^v)
My ramen fix when im in the shaw blvd area..very nice and polite people..even the japanese owner is nice. love the ramen and the curry.
They're my favorite ramen restaurant in the metro. Their gyoza is great too! And they've got spectacular service! :)
One of the best ramen and gyoza in the metro..so flavorful and it is really an authentic ramen..
Was craving for a Ramen soup restaurant. And thankfully came across your restaurant. Just a suggestion.. Maybe you could make the Ramen name more prominent than Daisho. When me and my wife first spotted the resto we immediately associated it with the Japanese merchandise store coz of the Daisho name. Anyways, other than that we had one of the best Miso Ramen experience we had. Highly recommended! Will definitely be back!
I love the ramen here. It is definitely the best in the metro for me.

Best ramen I've ever taste. So flavourful yet affordable.
Ramen Daisho Is My Number 1!!! There Is No Substitute!
My sister and I was looking for resto to eat dinner.. glad we tried it and was satisfied with the food.
I think I visited this place 4 times this week haha. Great ramen! The manager was nice enough to let me park my bike near the entrance so I can check on it easily. You can't beat good food and excellent customer service!
Everything's EXCELLENT - food, service, hospitality, and ambience! 🙌🏼
Will definitely be back! ❤️
I love Ramen Daisho. I never get old of the food. Ramen and katsudon is delicious here. I recommend you to eat here! ^•^
that wagyu steak’s like butter - says my dad who loves meat, and it so izzz people! 100grams of wagyu steak that’s cubed and cooked medium rare is one of the manu lip-smackin’ offerings of ramen daisho.
their gyoza is just plain amazing! that pork filling was flavored well w/ fresh aromatics and when eaten upon served defo has that xlb feels ‘coz of that small dose of soupy-ness in it.
eating their ebi mango maki’s just a delight. the sweet tarty mango gives a fresh dimension to the fried tempura inside that jap rice roll aaaaand their dry ramen is one for the books. it’s kinda like pancit but better. greasy and savory and filling is what i always look forward to when getting a bowl of abura-men.
✅ Really good ramen
✅ Smoky, meaty chahan
✅ The only place I know that serves abura ramen
✅ Pets are allowed outside. The servers seem to like dogs
❌ The outdoor area is near Shaw Boulevard so it can get noisy, hot, and smoggy
One of our Favorite Ramen place, the broth is what makes it special. the place is owned by a real japanese owner also. More branches please :)
Their tonkotsu ramen is my go-to for decent, flavorful, and satisfying ramen. Also get their gyoza - one of the best ever.
Their Japanese sausage is pricey, but it’s authentic - the taste and texture is what I’d get in a ramen place in Japan.
Haven’t tried their other ramen. Would like to one day. :)
Had the miso ramen. Definitely one of the best in the Metro. Will come back again.
Only issue is the location which is part of a complex that houses Puregold. It's easy to miss off your not paying attention.
We ordered Tonkotsu Ramen, Miso Ramen and Gyoza with House Tea 😍🍜☕👌
For me i personally loved the Miso Ramen especially if i pair it with some gyoza 😂 I can eat this all day 😁

Service is excellent. Their cold soba is the best I've tried so far. Zomato Gold can be used for ramen and rice dishes except for set menus. Value for money.
Glad that this ramen house is just a few meters away from work. Me and my bestfriend always eat here for lunch whenever our blood crave for authentic broth. The place is a good spot to chill, well lit, cold enough, fast service. (I just have this very small issue about their tables lol, I’m 5’8 with long legs and i always get my shin bump under the table’s small shelf for bags. Guess it’s really designed to be like that, so it’s okay no probs.) Their Tonkotsu Ramen is okay. A bit pricey but still okay. They have this promo coupon where you will collect 10 stamps to avail of their free regular ramen. We just had our first free ramen! Yey! I recommend this especially to those living along or near shaw blvd. A secret spot yet to be discovered.
Would probably argue that Daisho is the Mendokoro of Mandaluyong. The tonkotsu ramen is 5 stars. Really complex flavors for a fairly-priced dish without the long drive to Makati and even longer lines🌟🌟🌟
Probably one of the most underrated ramen places in Manila. This is easily in my top 5 ramen places. The broth is rich and creamy (but not to the point of it being super creamy). The noodles has a nice chew to it, and the chashu is cut really thin like the ramen I had in japan. It's really nice. I hope people would try to visit this place as it is really a hidden ramen gem.
Aside from the ramen, their other food items are also authentic. The tempura is not oily like in other places and the katsudon we got (forgot to take photo) is legit. It felt like having a simple lunch in Japan.
Btw, the staff here are also very nice and attentive. They are also knowledgeable on which food item goes well with what food item.
This underrated ramen place has one of the best ramen in the city. In fact this is my go to ramen shop. Noodles were extra firm. The broth was rich flavorful but not too heavy or nakakaumay. Price is reasonable and very affordable. Service is fast. I just hope more people will appreciate this shop as much as I do.
We found out about Ramen Daisho through the #eatigo app. We tried their Ebi fry bento, Ebi mango maki, Tonkotsu ramen, gyoza, and Fries. The ambiance depicted a classic casual Japanese restaurant. The food was good, loved their ramen especially the soup base. 😋 The Ebi fry bento and Ebi fry mango maki was okay, it was more of ebi. 👌 Will go back for their gyoza. 😍
Lenten is the season when we abstain our cravings for meat and poultry. It’s a yearly practice because the majority of the people in the country are Catholics. And as a believer, we lessen or refrain from eating meat and opt to choose veggies and seafood as the options. In line with this, some of the restaurants are introducing dishes that would be available during Lenten season that would still satisfy our cravings to delicious meals. Ramen Daisho is one of those restaurants that offer their version of dishes especially this season of penance.
It was my first time to travel all the way from the South to Mandaluyong for this one-of-a-kind Ramen joint, and it was so worth it!
I was so pleased to try some of their best sellers: Tonkotsu Ramen, Miso Ramen and Cold Ramen-- plus their Lenten Specials: Seafood Tempuramen, Seafood Curry Bento, and Mixed Tempura Bento. I honestly fell in love with their Seafood Curry Bento because it got the same taste of the Japanese Rice Curry I had at Japan, Lawson style. I almost got teary eyed-- it makes me miss Japan even more! (huhu whyyyy) Btw, this special bento set consists of a cup of rice, stirfry mixed vegetables, almond jelly for dessert, and a glass of iced tea! What a steal!
Anyways, their Seafood Tempuramen consists of huge tempura-battered prawns, clams, squid, and mussels-- and it's good! They too make their own noodles that's what makes it special. Their best selling ramens are all on the same level as the authentic Japanese ramens I had at the mall! I love their Tonkotsu Ramen since I like mild tasting broth.
I'm very picky when it comes to gyoza, but theirs caught the heck of my tastebuds! I don't like the traditional flavor of it, that's why I'm glad theirs was different-- good kind of different. I'm not a fan of California Maki also since I don't like mangoes on desserts but theirs was also acceptable to my taste.
The place could use a little more work on interior designing. They need to re-vamp the place!
Hoping to visit again soon!

Update: Adding photos, Ramen Daisho is open for delivery and pick-up. Enjoyed the gyoza, tempura, katsudon and tonkatsu curry we ordered in the comfort of our home.
Original: Even before I was invited by a fellow foodie ( Eboy M. Donato ) to sample the new Lenten Specials of Ramen Daisho, I was already a fan of this restaurant. Especially during the time when there were not yet as many good ramen places as now, we would frequent Ramen Daisho to have our (authentic) ramen fix. It’s nice to know that they give much importance to the quality and authenticity of their dishes so most of their ingredients are imported directly from Japan. Recently though, a lot of restaurant franchises from abroad have popped up so I haven’t been here in a while so I was excited to receive the invite. And now I remember why I liked this place, will definitely keep coming back again from now on.
To start off, they serve one of my favorite gyozas ever! You can have this as an appetizer or as viand to their fried rice, writing this is making me hungry. For the ramen, I love their bestsellers - miso or tonkotsu ramen - both are rich and tasty, the way I like my ramen.
As for the Lenten Specials, these will be offered for the whole month of April 2019 and they are a steal having a generous serving of assorted seafood plus iced tea!
1. Seafood Tempura Ramen - comes with 2 pieces ebi tempura and an assortment of other seafood. The broth is light. Tip: Eat right away so the tempura doesn’t get soggy or maybe ask them to set them aside, the ebi tempura at least.
2. Seafood Tempura Bento Box - if you’d rather have it with rice than noodles then this one’s for you
3. Seafood Curry - it might not look as enticing as the other dishes but the curry sauce is good! You might need some extra rice!
Both bento boxes come with almond jelly plus your choice of side: either potato salad or yasai itame, and a glass of iced tea.
Last but definitely not the least, our new discovery during our visit is not exactly a Lenten Special but might as well be since it has no meat, is their Cold Zaru Ramen. It is actually very simple with just the noodles and dipping sauce but so good and refreshing, perfect for the hot weather!!! I never thought I would appreciate cold ramen until I tried this. You can dip it in the “sauces” (tare, egg, spring onions) separately or I like to mix the sauces all together first and then start dipping.
Thank you again Ramen Daisho and looking forward to you hopefully opening more branches!
P.S. Lots of (paid) parking spaces in the compound (outdoor or at the basement of Puregold) which is a plus in my book.

Ramen Daisho, a quaint Japanese restaurant located in Sunshine Center, Shaw Boulevard, offers delicious dishes with ingredients imported from Japan to give you the most authentic taste and experience possible. This Lenten season, they’ll be offering specials to satisfy your Japanese cravings. Seafood Tempuramen (Php399). Firm Ramen noodles in seafood broth, topped with Tempura and a side of Nori. Although I’m not a fan of anything seafood, this dish was a pleasant surprise as the dish offered a fresh taste of the sea.
Always a favorite go to ramen place. Still consistent and flavor filled Hakata Tonkotsu Chasyu Ramen and my favorite Beef Curry. We bought one large ramen split into two and half beef curry which was more than enough to fill two hungry bellies. Also paid 50% off the total bill because of Eatigo app! Paid 495+ in total, inclusive of service charge. Such a good deal!
One of the best places for ramen. Their broth has layers of flavor and they even give you extras to customize the taste even more to your liking. They don't cut corners when it comes to ingredients and texture. Always worth the trip.
Discovered this place because of a friend and I was told that they have big serving of Ramen and Tempura Tower.
So, I did went with some friends.
Ambiance - 3.0/5.0
The moment I entered the restaurant, there was an awkward smell and it does not go away. Also, the floors toward the restroom is stinky.
Service - 5.0/5.0
The service is totally excellent and pretty fast. Also, they try to check out how can they improve especially in terms of food.
Food - 4.0/5.0
Tonkotsu Ramen (Large) - The broth/soup is really tasteful while the noodles is pretty firm and the meat is tender and well-cooked. It just lacks something, probably garlic.
Gyoza - The Gyoza kind of breaks easily and oily at the same time. However, it is tasty and good with or without the sauce.
Tempura Tower - The Tempura is pretty large and the breading is not too much. The sauce is pretty good as well.
[2018-11-15] During the drive to Tiendesitas from a foodie meetup earlier in Capitol Hills, and suggested that we all go to Ramen Daisho. The one who drove had mommy duties so she begged off. We hailed a cab right after the passenger alighted near Hypermarket. The smelled deliciously of French fries. A female in the group commented about the delicious smell and the others agreed. Upon hearing the comment, the cab driver said his passenger gave him the fries and offered some to us. Initially all declined but later the female who commented first relented and actually consumed all of the fries!, hehehe. Fortunately, the driver still had a drink and burger for himself 🙂

Ramen Daisho is a Mandaluyong institution for good and delicious Ramen. Had the pleasure of dining one quiet Friday evening with foodie friends.
Gyoza - Ramen Daisho's best selling side dish! Bigger than what you are used to! Plump and very delicious Gyoza. The meat filling is generous and the gyoza wrapper firm enough to hold the meat. With a light crunch on the fried underside, this gyoza can be shared by two or even be a good heavy snack.
Ebi Tempura - It is called an Ebi Tempura Tower and it shows. The shrimps are fresh and had good batter and shrimp ratio. Not too much tempura batter. Dip it in their tempura sauce with grated ginger for that fresh spice taste.
California Maki - flavorful ingredients is the key to a good maki and their version had sweet, perfectly riped sliced mango. The kani is as expected.
Ramen:
Tonkotsu -rich ramen broth makes a good ramen and Ramen Daisho's is quite intense. It is heavenly rich is liked by Filipino diners. The Chasu pork slice is not too thick but enough to cover each bite noodles.
Seafood Ramen - same rich broth paired with seafood. The noodles was firm and had a good bite.
Cold Zaru - refreshing batch of cold noodles perfect for the hot Manila weather. Dip it in the dipping sauce with soft boiled egg gives it that rich, umami taste. Sprinkle a bit of chopped spring onions for that peppery taste.
For the rice meals we had the Tonkatsu Curry which had that distinct Japanese curry taste! Crisp tonkatsu pork breading, soft meat, dab a bit of sauce with the rice and repeat. This is a rice heavy meal which can fill you up in no time.
For dessert we had their Gelato in Salted Caramel, Matcha, Dark Chocolate, Strawberry flavors.
A must when in Pleasant Hills, parking is ample inside, landmark is the huge Puregold Supermarket beside Ramen Daisho's building.
Great ramen from a restaurant tucked in such an unassuming building in Mandala Park/Liberty Center. The broth was delicious and the noodles were nice and firm. Serving of the Regular-sized ramen is already very filling.
The place is very simple/no fuss. It looks a tad bit old but is clean and well-maintained. Staff are friendly and attentive.
Clearly, ramen has made a strong comeback in the hearts of the Filipinos this year. Brands with international roots like Ramen Daisho has gotten more attention. Since 2013 they have remained conservative, delivering bowls of authentic and premium ramen to limited varieties.
The ingredients used in Ramen Daisho are mostly imported, in particular, their sauces and spices. They use ukokkei soup base made up of chicken which has dark blue flesh and bones and five toes on each foot. It's a rare kind, acknowledged as a bird that gives better blood circulation, increased stamina, beautiful skin and many more.
Our team was served three kinds of ramen, both in soup form and dry cold version. They have the Tonkotsu (Php 380/670), Cold Zaru (Php 325/430/595) and the newest Seafood Ramen (Php 475). Among these, I found the Cold Zaru most interesting. It is served with thin flat noodles on a bamboo strainer with chopped leeks, wasabi, and a soft-boiled egg. It also comes with sesame seeds and soy-based sauce. How to eat it is really up to you. I do suggest combining everything and dip noodles into it.
More carbs, coming! We were also served rice toppings! Since everything they serve here is traditional, we got the usual look on these familiar dishes- Katsudon (Php 200), Beef Curry (Php 300), Tonkatsu Curry (fried pork cutlet, Php 200), and Chahan or Japanese Fried Rice. The tastes, on the other hand, were bold and tasty. Obviously, they didn't hold back on ingredients.
Another worth having here is their strings of starters! The Gyoza (Php 155) and Ebi Tempura Tower (Php 330 for 5, Php 575 for 10) stole the show for its presentation, size, and taste. The former was the first to disappear from our table. It was also plump and juicy.
We got Kani (Php 220) and Seaweed Salad (Php 220) and a plate of Ebi Mango Maki (Php 340) as well. Ramen Daisho does have a Maki Platter for just Php 860, good for about 8-10 people.
Finally, dessert arrived to cap off this Japanese feast! We had a glass each of homemade ice cream. They served us Salted Caramel, Matcha, Dark Chocolate and Strawberry. All are just Php 130 each.
Ramen Daisho is located right beside Puregold. It may be quite a challenge to spot, as its area is not as lighted. They are facing a small parking area.
RAMEN DAISHO
I’ts funny that I’m from Mandaluyong, and I didn’t know that this restaurant actually exists! Have I known before, I would be their regular customer!
I am a Japanese lover, and I already have a basis on legit Japanese food. To me, I believe that this restaurant passes my standards for Japanese food! The following are my highlights:
1. Their tonkotsu ramen is the best among all their ramen selections. It’s rich, but balanced! 🤤
2. Their gyoza is bigger than the usual, and perfectly stuffed! 🙌🏻
3. I also loved their tempura tower! Unique presentation by the way! 👌🏻
Overall, I super enjoyed my dining experience here! I will defenitely come back! 😊
Let's make this review short and sweet!
- You wouldn't notice this restaurant unless you know where it is (gets?) because there is no outside signage of Ramen Daisho in Mandalay Park.
- Ambience wise it's just your typical japanese place. Spacious with VIP room where you can be accommodated
NOTABLE DISHES:
1. GYOZAAAA!!! Thin skin with thick inside. Hindi tinipid. Solid taste as well.
2. Pork Tonkotsu Ramen
Very balanced taste. Not a salt-bomb type of dish. Usually ramens that I get to taste are salt-laden to the point that it will give you kidney failure. Haha!!!
3. Chahan is a fried rice version like our sinangag. I call it "CHAKA KHAN". Through the fire!!! Anywho!!! Seasoning placed is very flavorful to the point it taste like gyudon. Hihi :3 I ate a lot, good... Carbo loading at it's finest. Huhu T_T hahaha!!!
4. Beef Curry thick sauce and yet the curry taste doesn't overwhelm the palate. It's just right for me.
I believe this ramen place is a hidden gem, because it's a gem that you can't easily spot. Haha!!! :D
WHAT TO WORK ON:
Add more japanese mayo, I was constantly in search of the mayo taste but it keeps me lost to the point I need a map. Haha! :DThat's all folks!!! :D

Everything here is good. Tried the Gyoza, Tonkotsu ramen, Miso ramen, California Maki, Nitamago. Their ramen broths are very flavorful, comparable to some of the best ramen restos out there. Place could use a little bit of renovation, though. Doesn't look as fresh as it used to. Lots of parking available in the area.
Good ramen place in Mandaluyong! Broth is authentic japanese - the tonkotsu ramen is creamy and tasty. I always share the large bowl with my son yet it still makes us very full. Price is wallet friendly unlike other ramen places. They will give you free parking coupon if you ask.
This place is definitely underrated.
The ramen that they offer is pretty traditional but they execute it well. The tonkotsu ramen is super creamy and delicious. I just hope that they offer a spicy variant.
The gyoza is tasty but I didn't enjoy the dipping sauce, too sweet for my liking.
They have 2 lunch sets in which you shouldn't miss.
Also, free parking in Mandala when dining-in, just ask for validation.
We were craving for ramen and happened upon this place as it was on our way. We didn't really expect much but we were pleasantly surprised by how good their gyoza was. We ordered their bestseller ramen and we weren't disappointed by how good it was as well. The serving was also good for two people. Their prices were reasonable as well, I mean that delicious gyoza was 125 only for 5 pieces. The price of the ramen was also comparable to other places. Service was attentive and pleasant as well. Would definitely go back for that gyoza.
Underrated! A hidden gem in Mandaluyong that people need to know about! Broth is flavorful and the noodles have a good texture. Chasu could be better as well as the gyoza. But this place is more than enough to satisfy your ramen cravings!
Ramen is cheap but it tastes great.
Noodle is firm and full of taste. Smells good and it tastes good.
This ramen place is in my Top 10.
Value for money.
Free parking ( with validation)
Attentive and friendly servers.

Fresh and flavorful food! Service is fast and crew is friendly. Good place to get your ramen fix. Value for money is excellent. Would highly recommend!
Broth is underrated, enough to question why Ramen Daisho isn’t as popular as it probably should be. One meat slice per order is cheap though.
Another leader in the ramen game! Take my word for it that this place is an underdog. Got myself their bestseller, Tonkatsu Ramen (P350/P400 for the regular and P620/P670 for the large). Everything was really good from the broth, noodles and all the small things i.e. seaweed and other greens. The only thing I was not a fan of so much would be the chashu but everything else compensated for it so you can have it without the extra chashu and you’d do just fine.
Also, the gyoza was good! the wrapper was thin and the meat inside is just perfect.
Decent chashumen in terms of flavor and serving size. Chashu is lean from porkloin so don't expect tenderness. Mixed tempura is good too. Place has become a bit old and tired.
Surprised that I have not reviewed Ramen Daisho yet. My go to ramen place if I don't feel like going to the mall.
It is always the Tonkutsu or Miso Ramen for me. :)
Good food. I was expecting a not so good Ramen since there are only few customers at a lunch hour. Turns out, it was really good. I ordered the small one but it was a big serving already.
The staffs are very accommodating and attentive.
It's still the best for me. I've been to ramen nagi, ippudo, metro ramen, hamamaruken ramen. This place has the right balance im the broth, thick but not overpowering.
"The Ukokkei in the North"
Both Ukokkei Ramen Ron and Ramen Daisho, practically share the same recipe from the same Ramen Master so much so that their Miso Ramen is at Par.
With that I would say do away with the Tonkotsu. Go for the Miso, it's their star. Add Butter and Corn while you're at it for a more richer experience. 😍
As for the Tonkotsu, it's not bad but It's too light for my taste. Think Ramen Kuroda levels of light. Also, the noodles had a bit of influence on the taste of the soup.
It is good, the miso ramen is really good, the broth is not that rich and the noodles are perfect and the service is really good.Only a 3.5 because they can improve on cleaning.
This is my favorite place for Ramen. People may disagree but their Tonkotsu Ramen is the best. A bit pricey but worth every peso. Service is good too.
Always our go to place. Price is worth it considering the quality, taste and place. The chasyu ramens are the way to go. Complimented by the regular gyoza or any toppings to your liking. Must try!
A bit pricey was worth it. A bowl of regular ramen averages P350 a bowl. Their broth was rich and tasty. Service was good. Staff was helpful and attentive. Satisfied my ramen cravings
I really love their ramen 😊 but my favorite is their gyoza 😊 been there 5 times already, even though its a bit pricey 😑 its worth it 😆
Hmm although the location is a bit off because its not inside the mall, I think many people find it hard to locate.
Shio with two cloves of crushed garlic = ay grabe. So good. Noodles are thinner than what I'm used to but firm, garnishings are pretty good but the broth is the star - with two cloves of garlic (kailangan ulitin). Chicken karaage is good, too. Place is simple and a bit out of the way but worth the detour.
sumptuous ramen, rich and flavorful. fast service :) good value for money. My husband and I are regular customers here since everything is consistent
Good value for money 👌 Broth is flavorful but not too salty. Gyoza is nicely cooked. Ordered the large and split it with my boyfriend and we both had more than enough to make us full. Will definitely go back.
Ramen Daisho is a humble ramen restaurant located inside Mandala Park along Shaw Blvd, Mandaluyong City. It may appear plain and simple, but wait until you taste their main offering, the ramen, available in four variants - shio, shoyu, tonkotsu and miso. We ordered two regular bowls of Tonkotsu Ramen and Miso Ramen. While both had a generous toppings of sliced meat, nori, egg and bamboo shoots, what made their ramen notable was their ukkokei soup. Ramen Daisho's highly recommended Tonkotsu (ramen) lived up to the promise of a silky and creamy broth and it went the same for their rich, flavorful and best-selling Miso ramen. Our palatable Ramen Daisho experience was complemented with gyoza and kani salad. We were also offered complimentary house iced tea. With a fast service, efficient staff, value for money and Japanese dine-in customers, Ramen Daisho tops my list of one of the best and authentic ramen houses in the metro.
As always tonkotsu ramen is spot on.. Having it with the lunch set(gyoza and salad) makes it even better.. Solid ramen at a good price. Great service is the icing on the cake.
Ramen Daisho serves traditional Japanese food in a traditional Japanese restaurant setup. The food was served very quickly, a result of the good and well manned kitchen. The server assigned to us knew their food well and offered helpful assistance in our ordering. She was also very polite and proper overall. Definitely well trained and she seemed like a long time employee of the place.
The resto itself is decorated in a semi modern style but still very japanese in feel. They have a lot of dining space and tables flip quickly because they serve very fast! It took maybe only 5min to get the ramen and the fried rice served from the kitchen.
The food wasn’t anything complicated. It was traditional japanese food. The ramen broth was just right (not overly tasty or salty like the popilar ramen places). They serve noncomplicated, nonfancy good traditional japanese food. Simple is really better sometimes, too tasty food is not only bad for your health but it also gives a ton of umay (oiliness feeling).
Ramen daisho is definitely a solid restaurant with a solid setup and menu
So I got the complete lunch set with miso ramen, chahan, gyoza, and salad (plus tamagoyaki). The ramen was not too warm or spicy but thick and flavorful. Servings are good, everything was filling and satisying. Gotta try the recommended shoyu ramen next time.
Still the best ramen locally for me. Also a lot cheaper compared to the others! Service is always good and food is served quite quickly too. Plus the owner always makes it a point to greet the diners. 😊
Liked the Shio Ramen with its clean tasting soup base and flavorful noodles. Ordered a side of butter and corn to elevate the ramen experience (this has become a habit!), and I enjoyed how both were able to add depth to the broth. Nothing mind blowing here though but definitely satisfied my craving for a good old bowl of noodle soup. The big revelation for me was the Gyoza (which I enjoyed more than the ramen I think). Loved how the whole thing burst with subtle flavors in my mouth. Have to say that I was never a fan of japanese dumplings so this one right here was a real treat.
At first, I really thought that Ramen Daisho is just one of those restaurants that wanted to take advantage of the Ramen Craze back then. Apparently, I was grossly mistaken. They serve one of the most tastiest and affordable ramen in Mandaluyong! Aside from their ramen, they also do serve a lot of traditional japanese dishes which are good as well. Been to this resto countless times and they never disappointed me.
Every time I drive along Shaw Blvd. in Mandaluyong I would notice the signage of Ramen Daisho and it has made me curious. Finally I was able to make time to know what they're about. When I got there I first checked the menu display by the entrance to have an idea as to what to expect. Front runners on their roster are definitely their ramen selections. but beyond that they actually have a full range of
Japanese dishes to offer.
Clearly labeled on the menu board as bestseller is their Tonkotsu Ramen so I decided that it would be.my main order. On the side I also ordered the Chicken karaage so I could at least have a sampling of their non-ramen menu items:
The Tonkotsu Ramen definitely lives up to being a bestseller. Mainly because the broth is velvety smooth and flavourful. The noodle is firm and the taste of each ingredient in the bowl is clearly defined.
The Chicken Karaage on the other hand played oit to be a fitting partner. Lean fried chicken cutlets served piping hot. Its coating is lightly seasoned giving it the right zing. It came along with tomato catsup, zesty mayo and a bit of shredded cabbage dabbed with terriyaki sauce.
Needless to say, I had an enjoyable meal. The pricing is comparable to other ramen joints. A bit on the high side but understandably because their food quality is good. The place, unlike their hip and trendy counterparts, bear close resemblance to restaurants in Japan. It is quite spacious and can accommodate up to 80 pax at a time. They are well staffed and all having that high spirited demeanour. As I would often mention in my other Japanese resto reviews, I like it when many Japanese expats noticeably dine in that particular place. Quite so that during my visit to Ramen Daisho, several Japanese families were there dining along with me. For me that is always a good indicator that a place serves authentic cuisine.
Second time to visit Ramen Daisho.
Ordered: Tankotsu and Miso Ramen
Taste, Tonkutso soup base is bone marrow soup, which gives it the very tasty and full bodied taste. Ramen is firm and it doesn't give that after taste which some ramen give out (nakakasuya taste). Miso Ramen is very creamy balanced the saltiness and spiciness. One of the best Tonkutso and Miso Ramen we have tried so far. Even better than the more known Ramen Houses.
Downside: Please do not order the Kani Salad, for Php 200 it is really a very big disappointment. Serving size Not worth the price. I hope the owner can address this.
Really Decent Ramen that is worth your penny. I will come back soon.
Ramen Daisho
After reading about this place for a few times for the past months, I have given in and finally tried this place. At first look upon arrival, the place didnt feel premium but after the orders were served, everything changed.
I had the pleasure of tasting the Tonkotsu and Miso ramen. The broth of both were excellent. All was well except for the noodles which were somewhat soggy. I am uncertain if this was really how they served it but I prefer mine hard. However, I do not feel that the noodles were a deal breaker.
I had a good ramen fix in Ramen Daisho. They have a decent choice of ramen. I just hope the lunch special is available everyday. Tonkotsu Ramen was really good.
Tried the Shio Ramen because of the promo. It was ok.
Masarap yung tonkotsu ramen! At tama sila masarap nga garlic with it. BUT I HAD TO PAY 40 PESOS FOR THE GARLIC (photo) :) NEXT TIME MAGBABAON AKO NG SARILI KONG GARLIC. Yep. No shame. Kahit balatan ko pa mismo dito sa loob ng resto. Parang Di lang makatwiran na may charge pa. That's all.
I love everything that we ordered here. Actually it's already our thitd time to dine here since it's just near our house. First was during lunch. They have their value meals during lunch unlike dinner time. The serving of their value meal is huge and is worth every penny. For 380 pesos, we had 1 order of regular ramen of our choice, (I chose their tonkatsu ramen that time) beef curry, chahan or rice (I chose the chahan and my hubby my had rice) and 3 pcs of gyoza plus salad. Super sulit!
Next was during dinner, I had the miso ramen and hubby had his shoyu ramen. Both ramen taste great! We also ordered the ebi mango maki and is also very yummy! I've already told my friends about this ramen house that they should also try it! 😊
Best ramen place for me. I always order the tonkotsu chashu ramen. I swear i can finish a large bowl and still have room for their yummy gyoza!
A bit pricey but d soup/broth alone is worth returning!
It surprises me how full this restaurant is! This establishment is owned by a pure Japanese- he is very accommodating and friendly! I enjoyed their Ebi Tempura Sushi and Cold Ramen! It's an original and very unique, definitely a must try!!
The shoyu ramen is perfectly made, noodles and the soup blend together in one magical wonder. The service crew are friendly and service time is quick, makes you wonder if magic really happens in the kitchen. Price is mid range but surely value for money. On an evening where you wish enjoy good times with friends - a drive to Ramen Daisho is a trip worth taking .
Been to many ramen restaurants but they still have the best miso ramen and gyoza for me. The staff are very friendly too. So far, this is my favorite ramen resaturant.
No expectations trying this place for the 1st time. Haven't heard much buzz from it either. Upon entering I was greeted thoroughly by the staff in a traditional Japanese setting.
I ordered their bestselling ramen, miso ramen with extra egg & chicken karaage.
So here's the breakdown of the dishes. The noodles of the ramen had a medium texture & doneness. I usually prefer softer noodles but it was ok. It reminded me of instant noodles the way the noodles were shaped in form but definitely far from it. Broth was slightly over seasoned although it was spicy so that made up for it a little. The body of the broth was medium as well as its richness. It came with plenty of chives & mushroom slices however. The chicken karaage was bland but their size & portion made up for the price. It came with Japanese mayo & ketchup so mixed together the flavor was set.
Ramen Daisho is the Ukokkei Ramen of the Mandaluyong area. Ramen Daisho's ramen recipe was bought directly from Japanese Master Chef Giantsu Yasuhiko. Who is he? Well, he's the master who created the recipe of Ukokkei Ramen Ron.
The Food:
Shoyu Ramen with Leek Oil (Regular - Php 320 / Large - Php 580) -
I had to try this Shoyu Ramen with Leek Oil. The way Ramen Daisho briefly describes this ramen - thin, flat noodles in soup broth with a blend of the finest selection of Japanese soy sauce and an additional leek oil to give it a boost. You can't go wrong with this ramen! I personally chose this because of its additional leek oil that makes my ramen more delicately sweet and robust. Leek alone gives a fusion of onion and garlic flavor, which keeps the ramen flavorful even as it shifts from its hot temperature to room temperature.
Shio Chasu-Men (Regular - Php 380 / Large - Php 740) - O opted for this type of ramen, Shio Chasu-Men. Hakata style straight noodles in rich, milky, pork-bone soup. Compared to what I ordered, Shio Chasu-Men is more on the creamy and milky side of ramen. It used the same noodles, flat noodles, perfect for the blend of chasu. What we noticed was the generous amount of chasu given to our bowl. It gives the bowl and outstanding ramen look, pleasing to the eyes.
Yakibuta Chahan (Php 250) - The most amazing that happened that night was to to fill up my hungry belly with this Yakibuta Chahan rice! Oh my goodness, there is abundant flavors that's partying in my mouth as I get a spoon of Yakibuta Chahan. I'm more of a bread person than a rice person but I was magnetized by the taste of this Chahan rice. I normally order plain rice in Japanese restaurants to be able to balance the flavors more as I eat it, more of the main dish and less of its rice. This Yakibuta Chahan enticed me too much, I couldn't resist grabbing a spoonful of Chahan rice. I asked the master chef what's in this rice that is so addictive. From his own words, there's a "secret recipe" to it. Well, I must admit it, that secret recipe surely worked.

Me and my manager went here for a meeting and I must say that this restaurant has one of the best ramens I've tasted! And what my manager said "This place sells the best tasting ramen compared to those I've tasted in Japan" I recommend you guys to try the Shoyuchasu Ramen and the one I ordered, Miso Ramen :)
Truly one of the best places in Metro Manila to get the most authentic taste of Ramen. The menu items are a bit limited and quite common, however the robust flavor of each Ramen will definitely make you go back for more. Each Ramen choice comes with a recommended add on, for example, the Shio Ramen is best eaten with a serving of butter because of the mild flavor that it gives. Tonkotsu Ramen on the other hand is best eaten with garlic to give the milky white broth a little kick. Other food offerings they have are the gyoza, ebi mango maki, tamago yaki, chahan, curry rice and miso shiro ramen. Price is affordable considering they didn't scrimped on ingredients. Their staff is super friendly too.
At laast! Made to dine here and proved to myself that the rating of this place is so true.
Managed to have shio ramen and gyoza and these foods are so yummy. Everything in the ramen are so tasty that even you chew them together, you can easily recognize each of them inside your mouth. And the gyoza? Can't say anything but so delicious.
Crews are all smiling, approachable and attentive. Before you were able to raise your hand to get their attention, once they saw you looking at them and want something, they will approach you immediately.
And yes, the air conditioning is not that good. I felt kinda warm still, though i seated where the ac is focused.

A very good and affordable Ramen Set. Their broth is very flavorful. Service is fast. Food is great. Try their Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen Set. You can choose either Japanese Fried Rice or Beef Curry Rice as Side Dish.
RAMENCOUNTERS presents Ramen Daisho!
Dinner again with the Manila Delegates to fulfill our "ramen night". This was a long time ago so I kinda forgot what my friends ordered. But for me I chose Shio Chashu-men.
They all looked the same in the menu's pictures but what excited me was the "milky" and "pork-bone broth" description under the Shio Chashu-men. My expectations did not fail me as the ramen was real milky and very rich. They have generous serving for their ramen. I love how perfectly thick the soup was. Miso Chashu-men is way too tasty as well. The ingredients in the ramen are very enticing because of their fresh colors and large cuts.
The place was jampacked when we came but fortunately for us a table got vacated upon our arrival. The service was good and fast despite the number of customers they had. Will definitely go-back.
Y'all should try their lunch sets! So affordable yet very filling!
SUPER WORTH THE WAIT....
I first found out about this awesome authentic Japanese Ramen joint last year during the blessing of House of Minis Shaw branch where one of the manager/consultant was a fellow guest.
Since I and my daughter, Sophia, were big fans of Japanese dishes/food, I promised myself (and Sophia when I made kwento) that I will only dine there with her.
Got an invitation last November 2013 for their soft launch but politely declined since my unica hija was not available.
I went there last December to take photos as I promised the Japanese guy that I will feature Ramen Daisho on my FB page, Kimnetix Networx. I fought the urge to try their authentic ramen as I was keen on keeping my promise...
Then came this morning... I, together with my daughter and nephew, Miggy, finally visited the place.
And whoa, their Ramen were awesome and truly authentic!!! I had the Hakata Tonkotsu Chasu ramen, Sophia had the Miso ramen and miggy had the Shoyu Chasu ramen plus their very famous Gyoza as appetizer....
All these 3 ramen were really yummy and more than worth the price tag of P300-P380 per bowl. Honestly, I am willing to pay a higher amount for its quality and taste.
Service was great and fast and Japanese manager whom I forgot the name was very pleasant.
This place is truly awesome and will be one of our restaurant destinations... and is 1st on our list if we crave for Ramen.....
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place... the money I spent earlier for lunch is more than worth it!!!! Sophia, Miggy and I were so satisfied and will not only be back, we will tell people about our superb dining experience.
sadly, Mr. Atsushi Matsuura, the guy who told me about this place, resigned already from the company.... I should have accepted his invites before... LoL
