Great food! The food portion is really good for sharing. When you visit never missed to complete your meal with the super moist cake and the super creamy ice cream! Two thumbs up!
Comfort food, comfort place. Cozy topped with the best crew ever. Food is astounding! You have to try this place; i guarantee it won't disappoint. ;)
We were looking for a cozy restaurant in Mandaluyong and we were so happy to find this hole in the wall! We enjoyed the food, especially the pesto rice (which I thought was malunggay rice hahahaha!). We never thought that sisig can be combined with laing. The staff were very courteous and attentive. We will definitely come back!
I made the right choice to have my birthday dinner here. The ambiance of the place is a delight to the eyes. Instagrammable worthy. All the food we tried were all satisfying aside from its reasonable price. I will definitely come back. Happy and satisfied customer here.
big thanks Plana's exists! it was spot on for our requirements in the reception of our bunso's baptism.. near the church, a nice place that matched our theme & sumptuous food! all of these just right on the budget. excellent service & with a freebie cake, too! we are very happy & pleased. i'll be back as a diner next time to try more foodies on the menu. keep it up Plana's Pantry!

Excellent food. Apart from the taste, the variety of food that they serve are really interesting. yung feeling na niluto sha with quality. And even the desserts (esp ice cream) may personalized feel bec kahit pili ang variety, healthy and refreshing yung taste 🤗 Pero I really love the service of the staff, they are well mannered and seems that they really know their product. The overall feel of the place is really great 👌👌👌
The atmosphere is very calming and crowd is good. The staff just lack a bit of attentiveness but the food is really good although the place is a bit small but it's okay.
Lengua is very tender and cooked in perfection. The ribs is also good and meaty. The price is very reasonable. I would definitely go back for more.
It's my second time here and the food has been consistent this time around! Ordered Beef Salpicao again and I asked them if they could seperate the rice and veggies from the viand since I don't eat them and they kindly did so! Staff were always friendly and corteous to their guests. Also nocticed that they hurriedly attended to waiting customers outside which is a good thing because no one wants to wait outside without being assisted right? For dessert we had the Avocado ice cream and carrot cake which were all good. All in all this is a place you should visit for brunches/dinners when you're around the area :)
I just love this place! I always go here for takeout since I only have myself to dine with. And even though it’s takeout, they always ace preparing my food. Very good quality for the price of food! I love their baby back ribs at P285. Comparing the price to the flavor of food, it’s one steal in the bag! Flavorful! Soft that you can literally eat the bones. Make this place mainstream! The world needs this kind of food experience.

Another comfort food place to go to. Great food and service tucked away along barangka drive in a busy street in front of a well established condo place. this restaurant gives you a homey feel its as if your waiting for your grandma to hook you up with your favorite dish when you get back from school.
The food is worth its price. The ambience is cute and depends on u but for me—ig-worthy. Such a small branch though, would love to have private events here since it's really near from our house. Limited parking also.
The staff is accommodating and friendly. In addition, the food is good for the price that you pay for. The beef tapa serving is generous as well as the chicken teriyaki.
Really has good food. Ribs are so good. Actually all the menu tastes delicious plus hand crafted ice creams. Also Liked the calamansi with malunggay.
This branch is small but I keep coming back for their cheesy garlic bread, hickory bbq pork ribs, grilled pork chop and avocado ice cream. I hope they can make this place bigger because it's hard to get a seat during dinner time.
I dated my mom here for a post valentines date. Hahaha I knew it was very late to write something. But I cannot forget how they made me feel. :) Very accommodating and the food is delicious.
Food : We ordered Hickory BBQ Ribs and BBQ Pork Belly ( Both partnered with a hefty Pesto rice and some corn and carrots )
- The BBQ Pork Belly, it tasted a little bit like how my dad makes his so for me its good. But the Hickory BBQ Ribs? Oh it was to die for. It was so soft I wanted to put my head on it. Kidding aside, it was very tasty, ribs was falling from its bones. You can feel it was some kind of old recipe from the taste of it.
Service : They were great, courteous, I asked for a glass of ice and it arrived no less than a minute later.
Place : it was a cozy place, small but can accomodate atleast 30 people inside, Their Air conditioner was on full blast so it was great because you know how the Philippine weather is specially around this time of the year.
Note: Didn't get to take a pic of the food because we went here hungry and when we smelled the food when the plates were placed infront of us we can't say no to it..
If you're looking for an insta-worthy restaurant, this is the place for you!! Ohhh the food and service are superb too! We tried the Hickory BBQ Ribs and BBQ Pork Belly and it was YUM!!!! Both are served with pesto rice and side dish so it is pretty much worth every penny ❤ I CAN'T WAIT TO VISIT THE PLACE AGAIN!
If you are craving for legit avocado ice cream, come to Plana's pantry!
Good food.
Good crews.
Good ambiance.
Aesthetically pleasing.
Budget friendly.
One of my go-to places for comfort food.
Try their Hickory Ribs and Beef Salpicao- thank me later. :)
The place is so cozy you'll forget you're in the middle of a busy city.
Everything about this place is perfect. 👌 I love the food, the ambiance and the staff are all friendly. I'll make sure to come back here as soon as possible!
Everything about this restaurant is spot on! The food tastes amazing. Their Chicken Steak is best paired with their Calamansi with Honey juice in my opinion. We ended our meal with a slice of their Midnight Chocolate Cake and Mocha Chip ice cream... heaven!!! The ambiance is so cozy I felt like I was having breakfast on a warm Sunday morning even though we ate dinner on a rainy evening. Overall, it was an amazing experience. This is a place worth coming back to. ❤️

The place was oozing comfort with a very relaxing feel, good hints of plants quotes and pictures. A bit of a down size was the counch its dirty needs maybe cleaning or a new one since they had been here for about 3-5yrs or so. 8/10
*Hickory Ribs - Amazing it falls off the bone instantly the meat wasn’t flaky which i would’ve expected in some restos who serves Ribs. The sauce was quite a bit great since it wasn’t too sweet or tangy just a perfect balance and good portion of meat. A little bit steep on the price perhaps maybe around the ball park of 230-260 would be great (Php 285 actual price). 8/10
+ Pesto rice - The rice is fluffy not watery not to salty and the pesto wasn’t too powerful on the taste just perfect balance good compliment to sweet ribs to give you that Herb taste. 8/10
*Oversized Iced tea - same taste as different other restos serving iced teas i just wish that they could have a bottomless option with them. 8/10
Service was good 8/10
Recommendable 8/10
Value for money 7/10
Will i comeback 8/10
Place is big enough to accommodate about 20-30 people. Very chic and cozy, great for catching up with friends because the place is not noisy and very relaxed. Their dishes are huge considering the price (had to order extra pesto rice lol.!) their hickory ribs are phenomenal and so is their pork belly. Definitely two thumbs up!

1️⃣ AMBIENCE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- The place made me feel like I’m home! It was really cozy, and the plants inside gave better impact to the ambience. I like that they added motivational quotes/sayings on their walls! 😍
2️⃣SERVICE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- My server had good customer service. He actually remembered my usual order! That’s A+! Food was served quickly! Some of the servers needs to learn how to smile though.
3️⃣FOOD ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
❇️Hickory BBQ Ribs: P285
The ribs were tender and fall off the bone! Its BBQ sauce is the bomb! You can actually ask for more! 😉 They serve it with a huge serving of rice! They serve corn and carrots on the side as well! 🤗
❇️Avocado Ice Cream (Single Scoop): P65
I like how balanced its creaminess and doesn’t over power the flavor. It did not taste like syrup, it tasted like they really used fresh avocado for this! 😍
🔆OVERALL
This is something I look forward to consistently come back! I love it here! 😍

Food is super worth it! We ordered hickory bbq ribs and carbonara, both are good and has a big servings. However, I'm not satisfied with the calamansi with honey juice and supersize iced tea, too much ice that makes the juice too bland. My favorite is the home-made chocolate ice cream, super tasty and creamy. The service is okay. The ambiane is great, good lighting and perfect for those instagram photo ops. Overall, the food, experience and my photos are great!
Original... Cozy... Food isn't bad... but it isn't awesome.. A bit pricey... Unsure if I'll come back... Unless friends take me.. If it's out of pocket... Maybe not
Plana's Pantry is a somewhat hidden nook near CGS that all bbq lovers should visit. Their serving resembles Bannaple sized plates, but boy they serve the best herbes rice.
Pricing is good given the serving size, and staff are warm, prompt and very detailed
We ordered their ribs and their tuna. We were not disappointed.

Tried Beef Masala and Tomato, Basil Shrimp Pasta. It's absolutely great! A good place to hangout or have a date with friends, family and loved ones.
No service charge and price are VAT inclusive.
Pesto rice, Hickory ribs , Carbonara, aaaaaaaand Ice Cream! All the best! 👅 Must try! 👍The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. I highly recommend it.
At first, we were hesitant to try this restaurant. But my boyfriend insisted to try this since it was the nearest to us and we were already hungry.
I ordered their carbonara and asked the waiter on how big their serving was. And he told me that the carbonara plate is good for 2 persons. Indeed it was good for 2 since I was not able to finish it and had to bring it home. We also ordered their garlic cheese bread and lengua. We did not expect that the quantity would be that much. We failed to try their home made ice cream due to that we were already full from their main dishes.
All in all, the ambiance, food quality and quantity, price worth are all good. Thumbs up! 👍
Must Try: Carbonara 🍝
Some people are intimated when it comes to interior and design of a certain place or establishment, like a restaurant or a coffee shop. My husband and I are not introverts but we are easily intimidated by the ambiance and aura of a place. There are few restaurant that we visited that we feel comfortable and relaxed when we dine, one of them is Planas Pantry, not only this restaurant is affordable but as well you can notice the feel at home feeling, perfect for a family meal or get together with friends.
There’s something about home cooking that just makes you feel good inside. Plana’s Pantry at Mandaluyong and Quezon City has that done perfectly that you cannot help but smile each time you eat there. The entrance is an inviting tableau of wholesomeness and warmth that you are compelled to open the door for more pleasant surprises.
The pasta sauces are made from scratch with no extenders, allowing the natural tartness of the tomatoes and sweetness of the shrimp to tease your palate. The carbonara is satisfyingly creamy with the generous bacon lending its salty taste.
The ribs were okay, though they could be more tender and the lengua could be presented better. However, their ice cream was a nice, creamy scoop that was just the right amount of sweet.
My favorite go to restaurant after having my dental check up! The place is cozy and I really like their ambiance. I like the artsy fartsy decors they have on their walls and even on their placemats. Their hickory bbq ribs are my fave paired with pure squeezed dalandan juice and their calamansi with malunggay juice. These two are very refreshing :) I always tell to myself that I should go try their other menu but my tummy is always rooting for their hickory bbq ribs! It's to die for :) The staff are very accomodating too. Really love the place and their food :) Worth every penny!
Out of the 3 dishes we've tried here, their Lengua has to be my favorite so far. The dish was tasty, flavorful and the meat was very tender which comes with a hefty serving of rice. Beef Salpicao and Chicken Teriyaki were the other 2 dishes we ordered which were okay too. Also tried their Calamansi with Malunggay drink which was refreshing. As for the place, it was pleasant although a bit on the smaller side.
What I love about Plana’s Pantry, they serve freshly cooked delicious dishes that each of their customer’s will get their money’s worth. The one that stood out for me is the Hickory Barbecue Ribs. Tender, moist ribs, and oozing with goodness paired with Pesto Rice. The meat falls from the bone, I almost had the one slab for myself. - See more

Plana's Pantry might be a but pricey, but it serves good food. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, and diners can entertain themselves by checking out the signs on the walls that contains quotes about food and dining. Some of these sayings can also be found in the placemat. But if one is busy with work or the latest social media updates, the wifi password can be provided upon request.
My personal favorite is the Linguini with Sausage and Neapolitan Sauce. It comes to the table in a plate ringed with herbs and accompanied by a cheese and garlic bread stick. The sauce is sweet and sour, with the right amount of saltiness from the cheese. I usually ask for extra Parmesan because one can never ask for too much cheese. The sausage and pasta are tender and can be chopped up with a fork for easier consumption.
It is best to alternate bites of pasta with the bread stick. In fact, one can even buy a plate of three bread sticks. While the restaurant offers only the one flavor of garlic and cheese, it is enough to complement the pasta. It is a delightful sensation to sink one's teeth into the crunchy crust and meet the chewy cheese and the chunky garlic. All of the flavor melts into the mouth but does not leave an overly unpleasant odor afterwards.
I also tried their carrot cake for the first time among their desserts. The cake is just the right amount of sweet, except for near the end when the icing runs along the outside. However it is not too strong, so those who are not into sweets might still enjoy it. The actual carrot taste is mild, and I am more likely to savor the nuts that pepper the body of the cake.
For those wanting to try other dishes, I also recommend their rice meals as their pesto rice is a unique concoction. We all have to eat more green and leafy food, so the rice is kinda green and kinda leafy. It should work, right? But I am definitely sure that the rice will be something worth trying. Pair it up with American sausage or Country Fried Chicken, for starters. Coffee lovers can also try their huge iced coffee, while iced tea lovers can also enjoy a similarly sized house blend.
I recommend a visit to Plana's Pantry in the future. As the sign there says, "Count the memories, not the calories". The experience will be quite memorable indeed.
Pretty, girly and cozy place full of delicious dishes. 😀
Ordered Hickory BBB Ribs. Perfectly grilled tender moist ribs with alot if pesto rice plus corn carrots served on a large " serving dish". Legua with mushrooms is fabulous, creamy and tasty. The Cheese and Garlic bread sticks are awesome. Soft bread with melted garlic cheese in the center.
Drinks and desserts: Drinks are served on an extra large crystal mug. As for the ice cream, it's special. I ordered the strawberry ice cream, it has strawberry bits in 'em. Rich and delicious.
Prices may be bit of steep (basing on their location) for the mains" but it's worth it.👌👌👌
I had the best time here yesterday. Their food is great, the servings are big, the place is cozy (and sooooo cute) and the music is very chill. Plus the crews are very accomodating. Their ice creams ard to die for!!
This one is located in a certain area in Mandaluyong where you would never think that there's a restaurant somewhere that serves edible food. Libertad St. is a busy street with establishments that caters to people who are in need of services e.g. banks, hardware and stuff.
Good thing that before heading to that area, I already researched here on Looloo where we can possibly enjoy good food. And Plana's Pantry is no disappointment.
From the interior design alone, the place felt homey. It was quiet, well air-conditioned, furnishings were girly pretty and filled with tiffany blues. It's a place where you can probably extend a bit more for dessert and coffee after a filling lunch.
Hubby ordered their signature Hickory BBQ Ribs while I had Lamb Masala. Both came with pesto rice and buttered corn and carrots (although I exchanged my rice for more corn and carrots). The food tasted good. Flavors were not too overpowering. The hubby though was not so fond of their pesto rice. According to him, it was too "buhaghag" and a bit dry. Serving size was "saktong busog". It's something that felt like home. Price is okay. Ribs was at P280 and Lamb Masala was at P340 approximately.
So if anyone would chance upon this area, look for Plana's Pantry. Truly a hidden gem within Mandaluyong's busy streets.
Very cozy food was great. Very satisfying. Prices are just right for the portions. Would definitely deserve a go back. Just wish their wifi works.
This is probably the place to be for the ultimate Titos and Titas of Manila and I mean it positively. The place is small yet cozy, well lit and well ventilated.
I had their hickory chicken while my friends ordered their carbonara and lamb masala. I don't remember that there was anything special nor remarkable about the food but I think we were all satisfied with what we had.
We tried their home made avocado ice cream out of curiosity (because everyone else in the other tables were having it) and it was the perfect way to cap off our meal. You can really taste the real fruit in it.
I'd definitely recommend this place and if this was just around where I live, I'd probably be frequenting this place and maybr even bring guests over.
Cute place that serves up comfort food. Generously portioned, reasonably priced. All the makings of a great neighborhood cafe.
The garlic cheese bread is yummy. The ribs are hearty and tasty. I also really liked my marlin platter. Great value, simple yet satisfying comfort food. Wish it wasn't so out of the way for me. Parking can be a challenge too.
We were heading to a party in the afternoon, so we decided to have lunch somewhere on the way to the location if the party and landed with Plana's Pantry. It's a small restaurant that can fit only about 20 customers. From the beautiful lantern lightings to the strong words of wisdom found in paintings, this pantry surely deserves people's attention.
Interiors: 4.5/5
Homey feel with great calming music
Taste: 3/5
(Ordered Hickory Chicken, Pork BBQ, Mushroom salpicao)
Passable, delightful, generic, but nothing special.
Value for money: 4/5
Serving size is quite good. They do not skimp on rice nor on the side dish. However, I do feel that there is still room for improvement given the pricing.
Service: 4/5
Waiters were accomodating, but were rather busy watching a show on their phones behind the counter.
First of all, the interior design and theme, kudos to that. I always love white and clean themed restaurants because they're are so relaxing and I can say that Plana's Pantry can give me that feel. And they're not all about the design, the foods are great too. My girlfriend and I ordered Beef Salpicao, Carbonara and Fries and all are delicious. Food plus ambiance? Superb! Downside? Drinks. Their Iced Tea is average and their lemonade is too sour.
Amazing food, ambience and crew. Hickory BBQ Ribs, Pork BBQ. MUST try is their ice cream, soo yummy. We've got Chocolate Crumble and Cookie Caramel.
Plana's Pantry has been my favorite restaurant nearby. I love their Hickory Barbecue Ribs, pastas and fries. Also including their drinks in cool mugs. I always bring my new friends to try out this resto.
This was suggested to me by a friend of mine who lives around the area. I must say, the food is GREAT...but the ice cream is the BEST! I'd suggest their avocado ice cream and their hickory barbecue dish. :)
Plana's Pantry is a few steps away from our home. The first time I saw this place, I was already hooked up. I knew I wanted to try this place.
Plana's Pantry is our first go to restaurant near our house whenever we want to eat out instead of cooking at home.
The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. I feel nothing in this place but good vibes. They have portraits hanging all over the place that has something to do with food and positivity.
The food is good, the serving is big but my fave is their pesto rice. It taste so good. Today, I ordered Beef Salpicao and Hubby ordered the Grilled Bavarian Sausage. Both of them are good and tasty. The staff are accommodating and helpful also.
So whenever you see yourself in Mandaluyong, make sure to eat here Plana's Pantry. :)
The place is cozy and feels like home due to its fantastic wall decors. Their menu is good and they have pancit and sisig in combo which for me is great coz these are my comfort foods!
Their must-try drink is malunggay lemonade. It's not an acquired taste as I thought. Will be back there someday.
Been my haven. 👍👏 I brought here my family, my friends and even my officemates and they loved the food. 😁 You must try their hickory barbecue and avocado mambo for dessert. 👊 My boyfriend loved the place too. ❤️
We super loved it here. You wouldn't think that it would look that good inside from the outside. So refreshing.
We ordered the hickory bbq ribs and the pork belly. Their serving is "sulit" big serving. Even their pesto rice tastes so good.
Service is 👌🏼
Really for the hungry ones!!! 😊
I've been wanting to try Plana's Pantry ever since it first opened, thanks to its interiors that look great even from afar, and the eye-catching signage, so I took the chance one evening when I needed to go out.
The interiors are quite quaint, sort of homely/shabby chic, and just bright which I really liked. There was a steady stream of people coming and going, so I took it as a good sign.
I ordered the beef salpicao, and the pot of tea, for a total of 320, which isn't bad. The serving for the beef salpicao was a good size, and the pot of tea is huge. Like it seems even bigger because the cup they gave me is meant for espresso, but it really is a big pot of tea.
The beef was soft, and cooked to a medium (surprisingly). Lots of garlic, which I liked, but that pesto rice was the bomb. It went well with the salpicao; it wasn't a strong flavor, just enough so that you don't get "umay".
Service was also good, and quite prompt. Food came out quick, which I always appreciate.
This is a good place if you want affordable but good food around the area!

Another great find!
Product: we got Hickory BBQ Ribs, Chicken Steak, a can of sprite, Supersized Iced Tea, and a single scoop of Cookie Caramel ice cream. What I meant about another great find are the ribs, because at such an affordable price, you can already enjoy a good plate of ribs. It is very easy to peel off the bones too! The right amount of bbq flavor that you want, honestly I've had ribs that are soooo overwhelming before that I can't even finish the whole thing. So, this is definitely another dish I am coming back for. The chicken was also delicious, cooked well and topped with gravy. A really good combination with the pesto rice too! The ice cream had the texture of a dirty ice cream that you can buy outside but with an upgraded flavor. It wasn't smooth but still very soft in the tongue.
Venue: a really classy place, this is one of those restaurants that you go to because of the food and the atmosphere. A lot of people eat here actually, since their food aren't that expensive. The crew acts very quickly too, I can say that because I was in a rush that time and I wasn't late to where I had to be. All in all, I am definitely coming back here, probably pretty soon.
I love their place and interior of the restaurant, though it's not too big nor small but the place is cozy. I love their food, I ordered their hickory ribs and I loved it! it was not too overcooked or hard to eat. I also love their lengua and it was cooked perfectly. :)
Who would have thought this pretty restaurant exists in this area? Plana's Pantry goes beyond their nice interior. The food is really good and great value for your money.
I was with 2 friends during my first visit here. We had the Tapsilog, Sisig Pancit, and Lamb Masala. I expected the servings to be relatively small given their prices. I was pleasantly surprised upon seeing their generous servings. The Lamb Masala was my favorite among the 3 items we ordered.
I also tried their Calamansi Malunggay because it was something different. I don't exactly like malunggay but I really enjoyed this drink. It was very refreshing on a warm day.
Plana's Pantry also serves hand crafted ice cream. We tried their Cookie Caramel. It was good but nothing special or memorable.
On my second visit, I had their Supersized Iced Brewed Coffee. The name is deceiving. I expected iced brewed coffee. What I got was not brewed coffee on its own. It had milk and sugar mixed in with it. It tasted really good though. Hehehe! It's also pretty cheap!
I really like the ambiance cause the place is nicely decorated and bright. It's perfect for being productive or spending quality time with a book. During lunch time, the place gets full. At odd hours, there's not a lot of people.
Service is pretty good too. The servers started recognizing me as I visited more frequently.
I like their location coz it's near our pad of course!😀Their food??? Love 'em all especially garlic cheese sticks and avocado ice cream haha! Staff are accommodating as always and ambiance is great btw!
I was never of aware of this restaurant's existence not until last week. My sister told me about how good their ribs were and she was literally bragging about it. And so when the weekend came I decided to invite my friend to have our lunch there.
The place was quaint not a kitschy way. It was around 1:00 pm when we got there and lo and behold the place was not jampacked at that hour. We ordered their Hickory BBQ Ribs, BBQ Pork belly, and some fries. I also ordered their calamansi with malunggay. What sort of attracted me to order was the "malunggay" in the drink.
Serving was hefty, just like what my sister told me. Their ribs was good.. surprisingly. The Calamansi wasn't that special, but I really like their malunggay factor. Overall it was a good lunch for the both of us. Even my friend was thrilled about the place. We left the place with a smile on our faces and bulge in our tummy.
This is my favorite go-to restaurant in our area! The food and the place is good topped with good service. What I like most about them is how much they value their customers and their sincerity. It really feels homey eating here. They also deliver and they already know me by name whenever I call. They don't even put a minimum and don't charge for delivery. I just wished they'd open earlier so I won't have to settle whenever I wake up hungry in the morning.
Sunday dinner. This little nook a little hidden but easily located. Can hold 20 inside. Rustic concept using white and light green colors to compliment the theme. Well lit with snowflakes hanging which was a good touch. Air conditioning was at a good setting.
Menu was simple. Two sides, has appetizer, pasta, and entrees. Ice cream was available for desert.
We ordered hickory ribs and the tomato pasta.
The ribs was fall off the bone, I was a fan. The protein was all you can want. Not so enthusiastic about the pesto rice. The barbecue sauce was okay or I was just looking for a jack Daniels bbq sauce. The mushroom salpicao was the only disappointing thing button mushrooms with soy sauce. The pasta was great. Flavor, "al dente" one comment would be was too much garnish or parsley leave.
The serving size was good and your getting your bang for your buck.
The staff was okay, not great. Could have greeted you explained some of the menu. For a first timer it would have been a good to great experience.

Me and my friends had decided to have our bonding moments in this restaurant. The restaurant has a cozy and relaxing ambiance even if it is located in a busy area. All the food here is delicious, affordable and in large servings. They served the best hickory ribs and Lengua we ever tasted with value for money. I would also recommend their chewy, creamy and not too sweet homemade avocado ice cream.
Here is my share. I've read good reviews of this resto so I decided to bring the family here for a relaxing Sunday lunch. Plus, I am just a few blocks away.
I agree with the reviews of the interior. Because of the light paint of the walls and white chairs, the place is very inviting. There is not a lot of these places in Mandaluyong. So to come here, it is definitely something refreshing.
Service is good. The place is not that big so having 2 waiters to work the floor is adequate. They also have a cashier sitting by the counter. Waiters were knowledgeable about the dishes, so you can ask them their specialty. Also, food and drinks came in on time.
As for the food, the wife ordered the hickory bbq ribs, for my daughter, the battered fish and fries and I had the Lengua. Mainly, because my wife already ordered the ribs. Well good that I followed the reviews for the Lengua because it didn't disappoint me. It was close to my aunt's version but this time I don't have to do any special favors for it. I'd like to compliment them for making sure that the ox tongue, truly, melts in your mouth.
The ribs were also juicy. In fact, I don't have a picture of it because as soon as it landed on our table, I swiped a bone right away. Sorry Abby! But my wife really enjoyed the dish.
The battered fish and fries, nothing really special to say except that my daughter enjoyed the fries, as she always does.
Overall, good interior and service, fair price and very satisfying food. Definitely, I shall return for more...:)
Kudos to those who gave a good review and to my aunt, I'm sorry that I won't offer anymore favors in exchange for your Lengua. But I am still open to come by your house if you serve it. Nyahahaha!:P Peace auntie, we love you!:)
P.S. They don't serve bottled water. Normally, I am not particular with this but at the time when I was devouring the food here, I had my 3-year-old with me.

I was surprised that there's a place like this near our place so I invited my friend to give this place a try immediately. Me and my friend ordered Carbonara (+ Supersized iced tea, for me. Which is literally supersized lol) and fuzzy fries. The flavor of carbonara is great, plus it's very affordable. The place is cozy + the interior is lovely.
What I love most about Plana's Pantry is its ability to flawlessly empty its diner's cups and fill them with the most positive notes of life. It's like being a lad all over again having the charming form of innocence while waiting for your grandma to serve you her signature dish. It's a playground of thoughts that caters the carefree type of talking and laughing. A reminder that life isn't that complicated if we choose to think of it that way. It has that certain radiance that will keep you coming back.
And the food is as good as how it looks.Their frizzy fries is a stack of perfectly cooked and seasoned potato strips. The garlic cheese bread is an explosion of the rich flavor of cheese and garlic. I'm quite disappointed though with their american sausage and eggs. I don't find it necessary serving the sausage into cutlets looking like pepperonis lying face up on my plate. Cuts were so thin that I can hardly taste the sausage. Thank God for the well seasoned scambled eggs gracing my plate with the right texture! And for someone who loves herbs and spices, their signature pesto rice is just a treat! A controlled infusion of that sharp and aromatic flavor of pesto adding an extra twist to the often blant steamed rice. Their pork bbq skewers is a hit as well. It has that signature filipino bbq flavor which is a mix of the right amount of flavors orchestrated by that ever versatile taste of sweetness.
For the beverages, I recommend their calamansi malunggay which definitely tastes better than how it sounds. It's as if the acrid taste of malunggay found its way to compliment the tartness of calamansi. Really, you will hardly recognize that you are drinking those leafy spots of bitterness which we call malunggay! If you opt for a sweeter option, you can go for their pure extract dalandan. Mildly sweetened but not loosing that legit dalandan flavor. Calamansi honey is just okay. The sourness of calamansi is just overpowering that I doubted the presence of honey in the drink. All are served in these regular sized mason jars which adds to their aesthetic apeal. They also have a Supersize iced tea and lemonade served in these fascinatingly oversized mugs! Never tried the former but the latter was just too sour. Not my fave.
Their hand crafted ice creams are rich in flavors though we find it amusing that strawberry love tastes like one of the locally available flavored biscuits. Choco rumble has that strong chocolaty flavor. Too strong for what supposed to be a sweet treat. Avocado mambo will always be my easy choice, just that right amount of sweetness without losing the distinct avocado flavor.
So if you like the idea of engaging to a good talk having just positive thoughts as your audience and a table easily bearing the weight of just good food, Plana's Pantry is your place.
Plana's Pantry is like a home away from home for people like me who literally lives away from home. Not only do I get to eat the most sumptuous meals and desserts but also I get a taste of what it feels like to be treated like a family member by the crew. The food is truly amazing and the customer service is superb, not to mention the ambiance and music on the side. So if you wanna hang out, celebrate an event, have a date or if you are just craving for the best "avocado ice cream" in town; PLANA'S PANTRY is the place to go!
Personal Suggestion? Try their Carbonara with Garlic and Cheese Bread, Pure Squeezed Dalandan for a drink, and of course try any of their Hand Crafted Ice Cream and your day will surely wrap up fine.
Plana's Pantry is Love! Kudos!
A very cute and unique place to chill. You'll love the view because of the decoration. Food wise, it's very delicious, and you really get what you pay for because of the big serving and the hickory bbq ribs was so tasty and juicy and it goes very well with the pesto rice, i can still taste its sauce after i went home. Their home made ice cream is also a must try. Balances your taste buds after devouring the meat. I also like how attentive their crew was. Overall experience was awesome. Would definitely come back for more.
The ambiance is peaceful and conservative, thanks to the tasteful decorations. I found the customer service to be sub-par, definitely not what I expected from a seemingly "nice" restaurant. My companion and I ordered Plana's Sisig, BBQ Pork Belly, Iced Tea, and Avocado Mambo Ice Cream. The servings were quite generous, but the taste was just OK. For the price, it was a bit of a disappointment. I do appreciate their inclusion of veggies in the rice meals, though. The ice cream was not good at all, and we weren't even able to finish it - despite being avid fans of ice cream. I'm hoping that next time, their staff would be more accommodating, despite what their customers look like or are wearing. I'm looking forward to try their side dishes, particularly the Frizzy Fries.
Just got home from dinner at plana's pantry. Whoa! I love the ambiance. Very cozy and relaxing. We ordered hickory bbq ribs and beef salpicao and it was amazing specially the hickory. Its very juicy and lean. You can actually eat the bones and it goes well with their pesto rice. What a great combination! I will recommend this to my friends. :)
Food: It was good. They should try to add more choices on their menu and improve the taste of their porkchop and ribs because both almost tasted the same.
Place: The theme is more of a breakfa-ish.
Well... this our home or "dining table" away from home if I may so. We eat here almost every week because we like how convenient the location is and we absolutely love their... everything! From Hickory Ribs, Plana's Sisig to Country Fried Chicken, pastas and appetizers. Even their drinks and home made or hand crafted ice cream... all a yum and such a treat for our tummies. I have picky eater kids but @ Plana's pantry, well, they can't pick what to order anymore because they like most from the menu lol I would recommend trying their Hickory Bbq Ribs if it's your first time here! More power!!
If I could give this place a ten, I would. Haha. Went here with friends. It was all our first time and I have foodie friends with me. The owner was very accomodating when I was inquiring about reservations. The staff were attentive. No service charge so we give extras for the bill. The food never failed me. We had Chicken Masala, Hickory Chicken BBQ, Sisig with laing and Hickory BBQ ribs(mine). We had Calamansi with Honey and Freshly squeezed dalandan for drinks. And we ordered all of the ice cream on the menu.
Everything is delicious! Good thing I just live across the street. Teehee!
My friend and I meet up very seldom because of our clashing schedules and because I'm from the south, we should both be free the whole day for us to enjoy our bonding. My friend is from Mandaluyong and she told me about this restaurant that she always sees whenever they pass by the area. Curious me checked it out here in Zomato and we decided to pay a visit during our weekend getaway weeks ago.
When we got there, I felt giddy because of the homey and cute interiors of the restaurant. There were 3 or 4 tables occupied when we got there, all on the couch side. We were lucky to get a table on that side, too. Who doesn't like soft chairs? Their attentive staff gave us our menu and I really had a hard time choosing. In the end, I still chose the Hickory BBQ ribs that I was eyeing already even before I got there.
I didn't actually notice how long it took for our orders to arrive because I was so busy admiring the place. My friend ordered their Tomato, Basil and Shrimp pasta. Both of our orders are good for sharing, but one hungry tummy can eat one order alone. My friend ordered the supersized lemonade and I chose the supersized iced tea. Supersized indeed...so huuuuge. The ribs were so good, really good, according to my taste buds. The meat comes right off the bone. It was a teeny tiny bit dry but the great sauce made it taste better. The corn and carrots side was good as well. I'm not a fan of 'buhaghag' rice, but because the pesto rice was good, I liked it anyway. My friend said she liked her pasta, too. Our tummies were about to burst even before we finished our food. But since everything was good, we still tried to finish everything off. Though because of that, we weren't able to get desserts. Sad.
We will definitely come back to try their other dishes. Good food, good place and good music, too! 2 hours of travel from the south is so worth it, as well as the 325php I spent for one happy tummy. ♥ Definitely recommending this to my friends!

If there's ever a place that best suits the tag #HiddenGem, it is Plana's Pantry. Tucked in the large town of Highway Hills, Mandaluyong, I'm sure the place is overshadowed by a more popular Italian resto just around the corner. But leave no doubt about it, the place is excellent.
It's a small place, but the ambiance is good. Well lighted, cool and the walls are lined with witty quotes, presumably known to all Tumblr-ers.
The food followed suit and man, did it blow me away! The Battered Fish and Shrimp with Fries was excellent. The fish and shrimps were tender. The fries were well cooked and not oily. I love the Hickory BBQ Ribs. Tender pork that peels off the bone and the sauce was succulent. The Gindara Steak was delicious and tender. The Carbonara Pasta was likewise delicious and not too saucy. As if to drive home the #HiddenGem point, when I took a bite from what I thought was just an ordinary garlic bread, it was actually stuffed with cheese! Never ever forget to order the homemade ice cream. N.E.V.E.R.
It was a delightful experience! I hope they stay where they are. I think they could add more fish dishes to the menu. But overall, one of the best places to go. Whatever the occasion.
The Hickorey BBQ, Lengua, Beef Salpicao is to die for... with a pleasant interior that will calm you when you dine.... I tell you it's a MUST TRY!!!!!
