Stopped over at the Shell gas station on the way home from a long day running errands with my business partner. We decided to grab a quick bite to eat in Max's. I wasn't overly hungry, but still wanted something to keep me going. I liked the look of the description for the Adobong Kangkong Stuffed Tofu so gave it a try. It was nice, and was actually quite filling. Didn't feel guilty after eating it either. Will try their chicken dishes next time.
Got some ensumadas to go, my daughter loves ensymadas. Conveniently located in the Shell gas station at the entrance to SSH, this Max’s branch is almost always full.
Ate them this morning. Added our stash of grated Parmesan to top it.
Service is fast and the waiters were very attentive. Max’s has perfected the heart and essence of filipino food. We ordered chicken, pancit canton, shanghai, kare kare, and lumpiang ubod. It was very good. The only issue here is parking.

I was never really hooked to the Max's fever and, I seldom eat there. So if ever I do, I'm with someone who invited me over. A friend of mine and I went here for lunch since it was gonna be her last day at work and she said she's been craving for something home cooked.
The location is along the highway so it could get noisy. But the ambience of the place makes up for it. The whole place was a bit small but it didn't feel cramped.
So, we finally made our orders. We had the Sinigang na Hipon and Lechong Kawali. It didnt take long for the orders to come out. We were served this big pot of Sinigang and a hefty serving of Pork. Portions were very generous, I can guarantee that. The sinigang reminded me of how my dad cooks it. The prawns were fresh, and the vegetables still had some crunch. The lechon kawali is also good. Very crispy skin but the meat itself wasnt chewy. For desserts, we had that mango cream dessert that they offered and it was delightful. Not too sweet, nice to finish off from what we ordered.
All these for under 1,000php is a good deal for me. Our server was also very polite, everyone was very polite. They attended to our needs and, didn't put out an off face even we constantly switched tables before eating. Haha. This place gave me a new liking for Max's.
Max's is almost always a crowd-pleaser when it comes to their dishes, so it boils down to ambience and service. I have no complaints about the ambience--the branch provides a lovely change of pace from the busy highway in front of it. The service was quite good--the servers were very cordial and attentive.
P.S. The bangus and tofu steak is a nice addition to the menu. Hope it's for good. :)
Max has the same level of service and quality all over, what I notice is the waiters and staff now are more friendly than in the 1980s . The waiters in Baclaran branch then are rude. Thanks God you did had a general revamp
