Their carabao toast is a must try! When I had my first bite, it feels like heaven! ❤❤❤ It is topped with lots of cheese!!!! I just couldn't stop eating it!
The laksa was very good actually. The nasi lemak was good although forgettable. Service was infinitely better than another similarly named Indonesian restaurant.
Laksa~ Laksa~ Laksa!
I super love their Laksa. With the right amount of spices and toppings, and also the noodles, it is enough to make me go frenzy about their food. Their carabao toast is super cheesy~
Nasi Lemak is also a must-try. Their food is worth the price.
The ambiance of Waroeng sets the mood of the customers to enjoy their food more.
But the sad thing about it is they don't offer delivery, hopefully in time they will accept deliveries.
Their Laksa and Karabao toast is a must try!.
The Laksa has generous servings of toppings and the broth goes really well with the coconut noodles, you can also request it to be very spicy.
The Karabao toast is a big toast hence the name 'karabao' coated with hazelnut chocolate topped with sliced bananas, grated cheese and drizzle of condense milk. you will definitely love this if you like sweets.
For their customer service, their waiters are very attentive and very friendly.
This restaurant serve most of the south east Asia delicacy with majority Indonesian taste. I almost tried all their food menus like nasi lemak, laksa, Indonesian fried rice, Indonesian chicken soto, noodles; all taste great and really is an asia taste (laksa and nasi lemak is a must try). I didn't try their coffee often as I always visit at the evening which makes me hard to sleep, they also serve carabao toast (indonesian bread dessert).
Their pricing is the best value among other Indonesian restaurant that exists in Makati area.
This place has less than 20 tables, air conditioned, wifi, and great audio sound with mostly bossa song as their playlist.
The only downside of this restaurant is they dont have much menu available since it's almost 2 years here and sometimes the location of this restaurant quite noisy because of live band performer near the area.
Overall 5 rating
As an Indonesian staying in Makati (well, you will be surprised there're lots of Indonesian staying here..hehe) Waroeng Coffee's presence makes me feel easier when I crave for the spicyness of Indonesian food. Their sambal is the best! I also really recommend the Karabao Toast, which is thick bread with banana, chocolate spread, and lots of cheese on top! The only minus for this place is just the main course menu still limited.
Waroeng Coffee is a quaint little place where music is mellow and the place facilitates a great environment for tea-sipping/pretentious book reading/actual work. They have wi-fi passwords for customers if you're into that thing. The design inside is simple, which makes me love it a lot.
I ordered Nasi Lemak, Teh Tahrik and Laksa. The Nasi Lemak was really good and worth its price, but don't expect to taste the coconut in the rice. It had half an egg, fried tofu and seemingly siomai-appropriate chili paste that nevertheless, blended together seamlessly. The Laksa was also really good and is definitely better than the Taft counterparts that I had. Cough, cough you know who you are.
The owner is of Indonesian descent so she really simulates how Indonesian food should taste. The servers are really nice and are attentive on water refilling. As of my visit, no flies were spotted, although it had almost 0 occupancy.
I would definitely go back here. Although I probably would no longer order the Teh Tahrik as it was literally not the cup of tea for me.
