Mainstay in the Power Plant Mall dining scene, this place is always full! When the rolling cart of dimsum comes along, forget your diet! They serve chinese dishes, no standouts for me. Good enough to satisfy Yang Chow, Hakaw, Siomai, Sweet and Sour Pork dreams you may have.
The servings of this restaurant are very big and can accomodate your whole family. I remember we were just two, me and my friend, who ate here one time and we didn't know at that time that all the food they serve were really good for 4 to 5 persons. We ordered a lot and we literally gave up and just did take out for the remaining foods lol
I was craving of Congee, and it was good that Mongkok offers it. My friend and I ordered Pork with Century Egg Congee. We were hinting it has a big serving so we asked the server to split it up into two. It was a right decision because even though we split it up, it’s still hard to finish the entire congee. I also ordered spinach dumpling. It tasted so good. I think it’s a good match to the congee.
Mongkok by far has been the closest to authentic chinese food inside a mall that I have tried so far. As most of us know, binondo is well known for authentic and affordable chinese food here in the metro. I do really miss most of the Chinese restaurants there like waiying and king chef and unfortunately you really have to go to binondo or banawe for chinese food cravings because chinese restaurants in the malls are pricey yet doesn't come close taste wise. But mongkok surprisingly is getting there. I have tried their beef tendon rice, a couple of dimsum like japanese siomai, xiao long bai, pork dumplings, pork siomai and appetizer sampler and i like them all. Best of all, the price is not too expensive.
when hunger strikes, chinese food is the best, no fail...
while the grandkids w/ their Dad were playing at the newly renovated Power Station, we decided to have our late lunch here.
we ordered the seafood hot pot & 2 plain rice.
that was so satisfying, we finished everything up.
food was very good, hot when served & tender & delicious.
service was quite slow, though, but I don't think that will stop us to come back here.
happy tummy!
Tried the Mixed Vegetables and Honey Garlic Pork for the first time.
The Mixed Vegetables has d mushrooms in it. This one can go well alone.
The Honey Garlic Pork is a surprise. The honey sauce was not that sweet that you would want to throw in your rice to smother all the honey sauce. The toasted garlic slices became chewy together with the honey sauce, but the texture complemented the sticky sauce. The pork was so tender, cooked perfectly.
They have a promo now. If you order a glass of their fruit shake (Php 115), you get the second glass for only Php 50. So better take hold of this promo while the sun enjoys scorching us with its heat.
After we watch avengers infinity... We had our late lunch here....

Awesome Chinese Food. This serves as my comfort food whenever I’m stressed at work or life in general. I love their Fish with brocolli and Yang Chow Fried rice. Really a good finisher for bad thoughts (haha!). Value for money: Satisfactory— their pricing is a bit of a so-so for me. I mean, for some of the dishes, it’s reasonable.

We went to rockwell to take medical test. My friend suggests us to go there, and since we don't have a plan to eat somewhere in Rockwel, we all agreed instead.
The food is great and I did not expect that each servings is good for 2-3 person. All in all I'm satisfied.

Extremely slow service, yummy but affordable food... one of my favorites restaurants, even though they give slow service, i'd still eat here again abd again and again and again... hehehe... the food makes up of the long wait.. love their Mongkok Special Fried Rice!!!
We had some Chinese food since it's Chinese New Year!
Mongkok is not new to us and so we chose to eat here. Good food, price is good like not so expensive. We ordered for noodle soup, siomai, spring rolls and white chicken. As a Filipino in him, my fiancé, he likes everything to be served before we eat. But the noodle soup and the spring roll was served for quite sometime. We followed up for the noodle soup and still we waited. And when we got the noodle soup, spring roll was still not served. We have to follow up again for this. Took a couple of minutes for the spring roll. At the end of the day meal is good. But I hope ordering gets done properly, we thought some of our orders was forgotten that's why food was not served together with the rest of our orders. We've thought of that since the customers beside our table had the same order as ours yet we were the first ones to arrive. Yes, we're very observant. Lol.
still... the best Mongkok branch! you have to try their hot prawn salad to satisfy your "fry" desire. also try their Mushroom Dimsum, which is worth the wait!
This traditional Chinese restaurant is not bad. I've been craving for some hot noodles so I decided to order Beef Brisket and Wanton Noodle Soup but they told me all noodle soups are not available (HOW SAD 😢💔). So in the end I ordered Pork with Century Egg congee. The congee for me is a bit bland but a little soy sauce with chili oil will do. 😊 Love their serving size btw... IT WAS HUGE. 😂
Extinction Burst refers to the concept of eliminating a behavior by refusing to reinforce it. The burst is a temporary increase in a behavior that usually precedes a reward, a plea from the recesses of your psyche as soon as the conditioned response is no longer yielding results.
Why the psychology babble, you ask. Simple, I've been on a diet for x number of days and carbs aint part of the equation. So, i had a terrible case of the muchies - directed to carbs. I forcibly removed carbs hence the serious case of the munchies. When one eliminates a behavior, your brain craves for it 10x more. Relapse in AA terms.
Let's set aside the Psychology talk. I was meeting him for dinner and i was craving for carbs weally weally bad. I had images of Chow Mien in my head. Without too much coercing, he said we should grab a bite a Mongkok. I felt giddy after hearing this.
Mongkok is my Lola's favourite Chinese Restaurant. We both have an affinity with their Chicken Chow Mien. I had a stupid grin on my face while i was telling him this. He decided that we should order the Spareribs Chow Mien, i gave him ten nods in agreement.
For php 280, this noddle dish can satiate five skinny homo sapiens. Sad to say, this aint the case for us. The noodles were cooked perfectly. The snow peas, bell pepper, carrots and shitake mushrooms were stir fried to perfection, i can tell because the peas are crispy on each bite. Then there's the chuncks of spareribs...Mmmmmm. Drizzle em with some chili garlic sauce and you are in Chow Mien heaven.
Mongkok is the way to go for affordable and delicious Chinese fare. This i say while i daydream about their Chow Mien.
One of my all-time favorite Chinese restaurants in the city. They serve these unpretentious dishes that always cheer me up whenever am down or stressed. To start, their Seafood Roll and Siomai should not be missed. They always serve it warm and you can taste the "umami."
Their Spareribs Chow Mein reminds me of grandma's canton version. Only it had green bell peppers and ginger. There were generous amount of pork, sitsaro, and mushrooms. Noodles were cooked right, al dente in short. Overall dish was good; not too salty, which was a plus.
The Soya Chicken Rice was also as delicious as their other rice topping dishes. Huge slices of chicken breast matched with ginger oil was perfect. It was fragrant as well.
Service was generally ok; attentive servers. Clean space and no fly flew in the area.
We are so hungry at that time and my partner recommend me to try and eat here , that food is so delicious what we order is their crispy pata and sweet and sour fish , i personally love it . The food is not oily and it has a different but exquisite taste . Their fried rice are so amazing too . The order took long to be served but it was worth it dining here

An affordable and delicious Chinese restaurant that can easily feed 2-3 people with less than P700. Definitely coming back. I ordered chicken and corn soup, beef and vegetable fried noodles and two bottomless iced teas. Well worth a few days saving from my college allowance. Service was fast.
Still a bit full from a children's party, we opted for dimsum for dinner. Couldn't resist ordering a platter of Yang Chow though!
On the table
Yang chow fried rice - the usual flavorful chinese fried rice. I still give the sausages and peas to the hubby.
Hakaw - fresh tasting shrimp
Salad shrimp puff - interesting and yummy but didn't care much for the sweet mayo like sauce
Lobster roll - ang sarap! The dipping sauce too which i even used for the salad shrimp puff
Mongkok is still one of our go to places for Dimsum.
Mongkok has really good dimsum like hakaw and pork siomai. Their yang chow fried rice is good and flavorful too. Their sweet and sour pork is good. The best thing I like aboit them is their pinsek- I couldn't get enough! It's so crispu on the outside and the pork is cooked so well on the inside, especially when it's dipped in sweet and sour sauce
Hi guys! For those who don't know what to order here in mongkok. I suggest you should try the sweet and sour pork, yangchow fried rice plus their soup i just forgot the name. :) so there, me and my friends ordered that regularly everytime we eat here. Im just suggesting but at the end its your choice. #justsaying
They have good chinese food especially their salad shrimp puff, they just need improvements on the speed of their service from ordering to the payment. Takes too long sometimes. But I still love their food!
The Dim Sum is actually pretty good! Fried Turnip Cakes are delicious
