Best salmon aburi sushi ���� I love this place!
I had Spicy miso ramen and it was really good! Reasonably priced Japanese resto. �
Went to Hanagushi on a weekday evening. Place was about half full with customers who looked like regulars.
Salmon Yubiki Sashimi was very good. Yubiki means treating the meat with boiling water. Tasted fatty and good. Salmon Spicy Maki was good too with the crunchy bits adding good texture. Had one stick of Gyugushi (Wagyu cubes) - melt in the mouth and with tasty fat.
Had Ice Cream with Fruits (orange, mango and apple). Was a happy ending to our meal!
This is the nearest Japanese restaurant to my place so I usually dine here. They have fresh, reasonably-priced dishes and are frequented by Japanese nationals. I love their salmon dishes and yakitori. But my favorite would be their wagyu cubes which I prefer more than that of Kikufuji's. So flavorful and not too oily. Craving for it as I write this review. Lol.
P.S. I'm also amused at their high-tech Japanese toilet 😅
Another japanese resto at the beacon condo located at legaspi village makati but its more common that it is across don bosco which i usually go to mass so there is no reason not to try this place. Like the regular japanese resto regular sushi dishes and also a japanese local magnet makes you feel the authentic vibe. Its still a good place for japanese food lovers.just park at don bosco church because there is no parking for you here.

You won’t mistake this is a Japanese restaurant from the outside. The interiors were good. Food was ok, fish was fresh. A lot of Japanese nationals eating which shows for me how good the food is. Parking is hard. Alternative to Little Tokyo
Ever dreamed of making your own takoyaki? Then this place is for you!! 16pcs of takoyaki is for P250 only. Can’t find my photo of the food though, I only have vid huhu sorry ✌🏽
Their food is a lot cheaper — compared to other Jap restos in Makati — but the taste and quality is not sacrificed.
Their spicy maki roll for 8pcs is only P200! Plus it’s too big your face will be stuffed in eating 1pc. I sweaaaar I’d go back to Makati for this. ♥️
Burp. One of the best Japanese restaurants in the city! It’s authentic and even smells like Tokyo. I don’t know why Hanagushi was given a 3star rating
I’m rating this four star because this is probably the best Japanese restaurant i’ve been to. It offers holistic, authentic Japanese experience from food to toilet! I’m also amazed at how big the serving of their maki is, only for a very affordable price!
Make sure to get takoyaki and spicy salmon maki!
We ate here in the hopes of satisfying my craving for Japanese. I tried chicken karaage which was ok but nothing special. We also tried the Shiyo ramen but it wasn’t that good? I bet we could find better karage and ramen for a cheaper price. Also ordered the Wagyu Gyoza which I qas excited to try but it was really really oily and lacked any flavor besides fried beef. Pork gyoza is better. But what really got me wanting to comeback to this place was the maki! I ordered the Spicy Salmon Maki for only 200 pesos, and it really exceeded my expectations! The serving was big and it was really delicious. It has loads and LOADS of salmon-tempura crumbs-and etc mixture on top (idk what it’s called but it was also delicious). There were 8 big slices of that maki and i wanted to eat more it just so happened i was too full!
Takoyaki, Octopus Ball, and Omlette rice are my recommendations in Hanagushi. The tastes are like mom's cooking.
However, smoking is allowed in the restaurant.
This is the first time we ate in an Authentic Japanese restaurant and we're pleased by their BIG servings which is priced reasonably. We ordered tuna sashimi but since we're hungry I missed to take a photo. Will definitely do back and next time, I'll try their gyoza and some noodles.
Really authentic japanese restaurant. You can easily tell by the crowd since about 90% who eat there are japanese. I really like their spicy tuna and salmon rolls. Generous servings on most dishes and the price is really cheap compared to other japanese restaurants. Once you try it youll know why all the patrons are japanese. The only reason i didnt give it 5stars is because the service sucks. The waitresses dont even know what theyre doing. They gossip among themselves instead of serving customers. Anyway i would still come back since its still good value for money.
Their set meals are reasonably priced. I highly recommend that you order a set meal when you visit this restaurant because its really value for your money. Don't miss their gyoza, yakitori and Japanese highball. I think they have the one of the best (if not the best) gyoza in Manila! But I don't recommend their maki.
