Love the sinigang and sisig! Its worth it -tasty and very affordable! Mabubusog ka sa sarap 😋 A lot of choices they have on the menu, and it’s not only the tapa that is good here tho. The sinigang and the sisig are my favorites!
Rufo's--a classic tapa or silog haven.
This branch was originally along Salamamca Street when it started back in the day. A place that I would frequently hang-out a lot at after school, since school was just across the street from it. Now the times have obviously changed and so has Rufo's.
Obviously, we cannot admit that Rufo's has levelled- up over the years. Air-con, more seating, more menu items. That's all good, thanks to a former classmate of mine who has bought Rufo's from it's original owner. The classic tapa however, it's a different story. There is inconsistency during my visits, and I much preferred it back in the day. Don't get me wrong, it's still good, but not amazing.
Since my recent move to the Makati office, I made it a point to go to Rufo's in Poblacion since it's been years since my last visit. Through a food app, I also booked myself a wonderful 50% discount.
Instead of having their tapa, I opted to give the Sizzling T-Bone Steak a try. Let's keep in mind that we aren't talking about gourmet steak. With that said, it was pretty good and tender. Some sizzling steaks that I have had are other restos can be awefully chewy and tough, leading to my jaws being in pain. Who wants pain after a meal right?! One should feel satisfied after a meal. The gravy that it was drowned in was yummy, that I ate it like soup and had to ask for more when I ordered my extra rice. 😀 I also cleaned the T-bone off as best as I could. Really yummy!
Food: 4.0 - Good, yummy, rice may need a bit of consistency.
Price: 4.0 - Even without the discount, the prices are fairly doable.
Service: 3.5 - Even if there were only 2 tables occupied in the early morning, it sometimes took a while for servers to notice that they were being called. The food was served quite quick.
Ambience: 4.0 - There are chairs, in and out. Nice and cool inside.
I might admit that the T-bone has become my fave dish. I should eat it again. Hoping that it will stay the same yummy consistency. 😜
Been here several times as it is very close to my condo, Service is good and food is average reasonably priced, the place is a bit old need a bit of renovation.
Today morning is my second time visit here, the spectacle female server is hardworking, politely and friendly(give her a 👍🏻)the other staff attitude are soso even the supervisor. Opinion for the food , the bangus is super delicious today . But the T-bone steak make me disappointed, this because its be scorched and dry like a rubber. That’s totally different when I first time taken, I think maybe the chef is not in mood today.
We ordered the Rufo's special meals with my sissy. Love the pork chops and T-bone. At that place is also home cooked meals like sinigang. They are called cooking ng ina mo. Staff was very friendly. But we ended up having a stiff neck because their television is too high for us to see.
Super tasty tapa with convenient and fast delivery service. Never forget ordering extra rice. You'll need it. 😂 will recommend Rufo's for sure!
This is your regular Rufo's Tapa branch. It has an outside seating with big fans just in case it's extra humid, and air conditioned dining within the building itself.
Ordered the typical chicken sisig and it didn't fail.
I ate here with my sister on one random day. We both ordered tapsilog and had one of their black samba dessert. The taps was too sweet for me, while the black sambo felt like it was lacking something.
There was a time when I lived on Rufo's Tapa delivery. It is one of those beef dishes that you feel so comfortable with that it doesn't matter how many times in a week you eat it. Their simple tokwa dish is also something worth ordering. Most of their stuff is good with beer, no wonder people come here to drink and eat - even during work lunch. Not a good example, but I've seen it. :D

I always thought tapa was your typical Pinoy breakfast viand, salty, dry, gummy, pieces of beef, paired with egg for your tapsilog, and served with vinegar. I’ve seen the beef shredded, in cubes, in strips even, but never with a sauce. In Rufo’s, you get to taste a tapa so different from whatever you’ve tried before. The meat is very tender, and the sauce is thick, sweet and savory. So yes, I was very happy to finish off my tapsilog plate, it was just so yummy! Indeed, my first Rufo’s experience didn’t disappoint.
Never thought I'd get hooked on a local fast food but three times here in a week? Yes the Tapa is a legend, but their other offerings are all worth a try. Bulalo with the marrow, even though small, is a steal at less than Php200. What gets me every time is the Danggit Meal. Add egg and it's pricey, yet it's still so worth it, almost always I order extra garlic rice. Darn, even the leche flan is worth a mention.
Besides the Original Rufo's Famous Tapa which i love as much as everyone else, I also like their Longganisa and Tocino Meals. The fast food place as a lot of really good choices that are affordable and really yummy especially for breakfast!
This Rufo's Famous Tapa branch is nice and spacious. I usually hang out here with friends as their food is really good and so much easy on the budget. Their tapas are really flavorful and delicious that I usually order a second helping. Any dish is a good dish as long as it comes with their famous tapa.
The tapa is worthy of the "famous" name. The taste is sweet just the way I wanted my tapa plus the texture is perfectly tender and smooth.
However their embutido is not what I expected. Its grounded pork is too smooth plus the saltiness is too much for me. Their egg is well done, and their sinangag is great!
Though they need to improve on their customer service our server found it hard to communicate.
Considering we are their only customer it took sometime to serve our food.
Overall the food is good the place is inviting too.

When you say RUFO'S, what immediately comes into everyone's minds is their so-called "famous" tapa. Last Sunday, after hearing mass, we went to Rufo's to eat brunch. It isn't my first time to eat there but never have I tried their Tapsilog ever since despite the large phrase 'famous tapa' on their name, so I thought of ordering it. When it was finally served at our table, what caught my attention was the heart-shaped sunny-side up egg. It was so cool that I hesitated to eat it at first but the tapa was also so tasty that I didn't have a choice but to finish the whole plate.
Given the variety of comfort food choices, theres apt to be one that will get a high rating, and for me its the Rufos burger. Its a basic grilled burger just enough to satisfy, priced at below 40, add a local beer for around 60, and for a hundred pesos u will be satisfied. I patronize the branch in Eastwood. Fast, clean, cool even outdoor seating because their ceiling fans were numerous. And get this.. no flies! How was that even possible? Thanks to good management and staff.

Thanks to Rufo's Famous Tapa for the sumptuous meals my friends and I had earlier.
I am now reminiscing my college days when my classmates and I enjoyed the many "silog" meals at the Intramuros hole in the wall eateries.
But this time, its a homecoming treat to a past where I had to struggle quite a bit in order to pass an Engineering course at the Mapua Institute of Technology.
The days were never complete without the many "silogs" choices (Tapsilog, tocilog, porksilog, chicksilog, hotsilog, longsilog, etc.)
Rufo's Famous Tapa has also extended their menu by introducing "Fil-Am" fusion foods as well.....so expect burgers and spaghettis on your Rufo's Famous Tapa visit.
We were there just yesterday at their A. Venue Mall, Makati Avenue branch which just opened last March 1, and oh Wow!!!!...They really deserve the "famous" not only in their tapa but also in their other dishes!
Loved it!!!!
Rufo's Kalayaan Ave. has moved to Rufo's A.Venue.
It seems they are getting some negative reactions from hoards of people thinking that there is no longer a Rufo's Makati at all after the closing of Kalayaan.
It needs to be clear that they never closed. They only transferred to a better location in Makati. They transferred the same day they closed. The same minute actually.
The famous tapsilog is not the only dish you'll find at Rufo's Famous Tapa. I'm so sure you are all familiar with the dishes below so I won't spell them out anymore. The meals are pure Filipino cuisine made more popular by the Rufo's branding. From the hole in the wall origins, Rufo's has indeed made a mark throughout the years and I'm betting it will forever be a part of our Pinoy dining history. Menus may change, improved or new recipes added, people will continue to crave for more of their favorite Pinoy dishes, over a glass of ice tea, cola or beer.
You will love the "tokwa't baboy" (fried tofu and pork) that goes well with any beer. It is a treat that you can enjoy all throughout the night.
Rufo's Famous Tapa is here to stay and grow further in number.
