This is my go to place whenever I needed something nice for myself. I enjoy the foods here. It's an upgraded version of Mr. Kebab if you'll ask me. I dont understand why people keep saying that the staff arent hospitable enough. The staffs are very accomodating.
Oh wow, what can i say. WE HAD A SUMPTUOUS FEAST. You can see everything we ordered on the pictures, i wasn't the one who ordered but everything was so delicious. Well, it's a bit pricy but i'd say you get what you pay for. Thinking about this resto makes my mouth water. You should definitely visit this place if you're into Middle Eastern Cuisines.
Superb food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the kebabs, the fish, the butter chicken and the naans. Menu offering is wide. Big servings too! In case anyone finds it pricey, in my opinion, it is real value for money.
1. Mix kebab
2. Hummus to share (very smooth but kinda bland? 3/5)
3. Samosa (my first time trying samosa and it did not disappoint 😄)
Their ambiance is nice and quiet. The pricepoint however was a bit too much for the food for me and the service wasn't too exceptional, however there was no bad experience on the eyes, nose, and palate so we're good hehe :)
If you cant find the happiness😃, just find it on your plate.🍽 here at Gilak. Lover of Lamb Kabsa. Nice place to dine. Good to find this place here in Ayala no need to go to Hossein BGC.
I've only tried a few Persian restos but this seems to be the best and most authentic one so far. They definitely use a better quality Basmati rice than others. :)
Their menu is quite overwhelming though with so many choices that even the waiters were not familiar with some of them... which they should be, to better serve their customers, so I hope that is something they can improve on.

Good service. Staff is attentive.
Food is pricey but really good. The roti was great!
Also had the kebab platter. Food is really filling.
Plus points: they serve lemon water!! 😍
I love that when you eat here, you wouldnt worry if the food contains pork. It's perfect for anyone especially for us, Muslims. I love the Lamb steak 💗 Very tender and flavorful. The service was also good.
Food is simply delicious, theres not much of a taste and aroma in the food but it just delicious.
We had chicken masala, beef curry and vegetable biryani.
The beef and chicken is super tender and juicy, the gravy is savory and fragrance. Love it.
This place taught me to love Persian food. This restaurant is a reveal!
Do not miss their chicken makanwala and gormeh sabzi.
No other persian resto is as fancy as hosseins. Whenever you stopped by greenbelt, be sure to dine here.
Tried it and loved. Contrary to the reviews, the chicken tikka masala was great. Even better paired with saffron rice! The only funny thing is that the menu also had tom yum.and shanghai rice. Looked weird given the branding is mostly arabic!
Love love love Hossein's. You eat your money's worth here and it's a very romantic place. Lights are dim and food is great. My family moved outside, however, when a table opened up. The humid weather was compensated by their big ceiling fans.
Food - 4.5
Their kebabs are big! Biryani rice was filling and didn't taste like it was made with a "powdered mix" (I saw in supermarkets that they sell those there). Pita was served really warm and soft, yum!
Servers are very accommodating and they tend to your needs right away. Really enjoyed our dining experience here.
Came from singapore and i was looking for a kebab place to satisfy my cravings for middle eastern food. I stumble upon gilak and i gotta say, this place didnt disappoint. Their kebabs are even better than those i could find in singapore. Highly recommended! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This has got to be the best kebab restaurant period. Nothing comes more authentic than this. Interiors were superb, but food is something to die for. Quality comes with a hefty price so this is more on the upper range in terms of prices. But you get what you pay for. :)
Best Chelo Kebab in Town! Its tender, moist and flavorful inside wrapped in all the roasted smoked goodness outside! Its a feat few kebab places can boast of achieving, this place nails it perfectly. Though a bit pricey, the serving size and quality certainly more than makes up for this.

If you are a foodie...you should never miss this...try out their signature kebabs and kabsa or Macluba instead of Biryani. ...Rated 3.5 as their service is below par.
I love the Chicken Tom Yum! Also love the fish tandoori wrap/shawarma and I really really love the Palak Paneer! 💋 I just didn't like how the servers initially ignored me but the food compensated for the lack of good customer service.
Gilak by Hossein is my favorite kebab place. Its roman. And the rice is good. Its at top of starbucks. We selebreated my grandmoms birthday there.
Authentic Middle Eastern taste. I love the soft chicken, the aroma of ME spices, and the taste of kebab is great. Very fresh and healthy veggies on the side is good as well.

First time here in Gilak. The usual haunt for us is Shomal in Trinoma. I would say the ambiance here is more authentic, considering that when we walked in, there was an unmistakable whiff of Heno de Pravia in the air. Our orders took a while to come out. Good thing the airconditioning was cool and comfy. The servings were still huge and very flavorful. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
3 people, 5000 PHP later, and we were absolutely stuffed.
We drank, we ate. Tried the many things on offer from biriani, to shish kebabs, prawns, lamb, beef, chicken. Soft, tasty, succulent. If you're going with friends and want a super extensive menu, which doesn't involve "sorry sir no stock", this would be it.
You could come back 10-15 times, and still not have tried their entire menu.
Check it out. I went on a Saturday at 7pm.
Highly recommended if you're lookin for a legit Persian/Indian/Middle Eastern Dining Experience. The taste, consistency, and flavors burst out in every bite. From the salad/apetizers to the main course is a gastric euphoria! The staff were charming and the place was warmly lit to make it a very comfortable experience.
Kudos and more tummies to fill for you guys! Keep it up!
My top pick for anything Persian. It seems a bit pricey when you take a look at the menu, but almost all their dishes are good for sharing. My personal favorites are : Tzaztziki - Mast-O-Khiar with Buttered Nan, Supreme Kebab II, Chelou Chicken Kebab, and Beef Curry.
Living between the Middle East and manila I do sometimes miss good kebabs and curries and this place has good ones.
I've been to other Persian restos out there but after Hossiens i feel that they were only illusions.
People who love Khubideh must visit here.... .its absolutely wonderful.
The food was great! Authentic taste compared to other smaller kebab persian places, but on the expensive side. I ordered their beef beryani and chicken kheema. Chicken tandoori also must try! Was not so much happy with the pita bread make
As a persian , i can suggest you the best persian food u can have in manila , but food is expensive don't get shock after u seeing your bill

Good place to bring muslim friends and colleagues as they serve good halal food.
"Persia's Jewel"
Loving Persian food here. If you want authentic Persian food, this is the place to go. The menu might be already a fusion of middle eastern and other asian food which somehow made me re-think why I was brought here for authentic kebab but this is the real thing (set aside the mixture of food in the menu).
How do I say so? Well, because I am here right now with Persian friends who came from their country and they wanted a taste of their own food (halal and all). And, when they first tasted the food here, they just said..."wonderful!"
As for me, well, I am a big fan of food from all walks of life and I do know how to appreciate and distinguish good food from not and this is a place where you should go to experience THE Khubideh and THE ghormesabzi!
I've been to other Persian restos out there...from Mr. Kebab to Arya even Ziggurat and really... After tasting the food in Hossein's, I laugh at the taste of the other copy cats out there.
Okay, I might be praising the place a lot without writing what we ordered so let me give my verdict on their food...and I'll start of course with the...
Khubideh (beef)...absolutely wonderful. Grilled to perfection, juicy and has this soft texture that you won't get from other places. It comes with buttered basmati rice. One order is already good for two (unless you eat a lot of rice).
Next order was ghormesabzi. It's Persian stew made of a mixture of veggies, soft beef cubes, beans and dried lemon. Basically, this is cooked in a pot for a long time so all the juices of everything blends merrily. This sort of brings you back to your Persian core...it's a kind of food that your mama cooks lovingly at home to make you feel better. (At least this was what I was told) I'm really loving this stew!
We also ordered their ox brain...which was superbly made with lemon juice. The thought of eating it was yucky but actually eating it is different and...amazingly I liked it!
Next amazing order was the liver. Oh my goodness! If you're not a fan of liver, you'll love the way they cook this. Made of beef liver or chicken...cooked with some spices and...voila! Total heaven!
And of course...there's the mast with cucumber. It's yogurt mixed with cucumber, spices and olive oil. The taste of this is really good. You put it on your rice (I know it's weird) then eat it with your kebab...amazing!
Oh! Before I forget...we had appetizer of spinach with yogurt and eggplant with yogurt and spices which we ate with flat bread. The thought of it at first made me think how the heck I'm going to eat it...it sounds yucky! But, it was really good as well.
To cap it all off, we ordered black tea. And I ordered baclava (a pastry made of philo with nut filling and fruit essence and honey).
I drank lassi (not Persian...this is more like an Indian drink) but what the heck! Haha
There...all in all costed between 4k-5k but my god! You'll die from an exploding tummy.
As what my Persian friend say, in their culture, nothing is good food if it doesn't make you feel like exploding and sleeping after eating.
Enjoy!
