Great place for Filipino comfort food and merienda! Had a lovely and comforting Arroz Caldo a while ago. Had their delicious Queso de Bola Pandesal with fries today!
I love eating at Via Mare . The fresh oyster and Rockefeller are great. The lugaw toppings is one of my favorite with tokwat baboy on the side. Ive tried almost everything in the menu from the bagnet salad to the main dishes like the fried pla pla, talong, monggo soup crispy pata to bam-i which are taste good to the desserts samplers puto bumbong bibingka even the sagot gulaman n guinomis is perfect. So when in Rockwell, Trinoma, Greenhills or UP . I wouldnt miss eating here.
Crispy Pata was good! Liked their Ginataang Bilo Bilo too but have always not been a fan of camote.
Service was good too. Place was very chill and it was nice to see that there’s a lot of senior citizens dining in who seems to know each other!
The OG Filipino comfort food place! I dont even know why people bother going to M... when Via Mare has been around for ages! My personal favourites are the sinigang, pinaputok na tilapia, kare kare and ofc thier signature bibibgka and kakanin. 🙂

Classic! Still my go-to for Puto Bumbong (which I sometimes order with cheese!) and Bibingka (I get the special one with queso de bola and salted egg - everything on it pls!). And not only available during the holidays but all year round of course! The Pinoy sampler shooters of halo halo, guinomis and mais con hielo, I didn’t like though, our order seemed like more ice/ water than toppings.
For savory dishes - my forever love will be their Dinuguan which I like to have with rice sometimes instead of puto and a side order of Tokwa’t Baboy too.
I find some of their their dishes a bit pricey though for breakfast items ex. the vigan longganisa or adobo flakes but they are yummy!
We have to arrived early during weekends coz this place was always pack. I love their Oyster Rockefeller. Their merienda food was good as well. The Arroz Caldo was good to share.

Last time I’ve been here, it was fully booked and luckily the last two seats were available when we arrived. Next to us were looking for 11 seats so great for us that we immediately sat and didn’t need to wait. Their service is a little slow maybe because they lack staff but food is still served with quality. We always come back for their Pancit Luglog, Pork Binagoongan, Puto Bumbong and Bibingka.
Dinner yesterday. Food is reliable. Service just average, needed to follow up a couple of orders. Crispy Pata-4/5. Has improved. Well cooked and crispy.
Oyster Boursin-4/5. Though ordered as appetizer this arrived last.
Sinigang na karne 4/5. Good flavor but meat was not as tender. Serving is ok.
Food is always delicious. For me, it is a little pricey for the serving size. But, food is always good. True taste of Filipino cuisine. My first time to try and I enjoyed their Spanish-style Hot Chocolate, will come back for this. Service is kind and attentive, even if the restaurant is full, they attend to your needs.
Excellent mirienda food served to an afternoon bitthday party that we attended. Bibingka is nice and soft. Tokwa't baboy has just thebright sweet and vinegary taste. Service is top notch, food was served and offered to the guests despite the buffet setup!
Filipino cuisines made even better. I personally loved the fresh and baked oysters, pinakbet, and oxtripe kare-kare. Ambiance is good as it has a good lighting condition.
It was my first to try Via Mare at their Rockwell branch. Our friends ordered Crispy Pata, Oysters Combination, Pinalutong na Tilapia and Puto Bumbong. This was my first time to eat a Crispy pata which was as crispy as a very crispy fried Chicken. I don't know how they did it but everyone from our table was digging that. It was also one of the juiciest and tastiest we've ever had! Topped with Oysters and Tilapia just satisfied our cravings for that night.
Via mare will be a go to restaurant for me and my family whenever we go to Rockwell. Ohhh I almost forgot their Puto Bumbong is spot on!
When you crave for good old fashioned Filipino food, this is probably the best place to be. You'll definitely satisfy your palate with comfort food cooked just the way you remember it. Where else can you find puto bumbong all year round? You can enjoy that here any time of the day. Our frequent puto bumbong craving probably is the main reason we keep coming back here. It's a great venue for gatherings with the family or even afternoon tea or merienda with friends. The interior has minimalist, uncluttered, sophisticated design. The branch is quite small but the big windows and mirrors give the illusion of a bigger space. Expect also the crowd to be a bit loud since most come here in groups. The staff were really attentive and efficient.
Classic Filipino food! No twist, just straight up and good!😋
This time we had the crispy adobo flakes (ok tasting but expensive), tortang alimasag (I did taste a little bit but it was my partner who liked it, simot!), pritong tilapia (yum!), and of course, their bibingka (love the queso)!😃

Newly renovated Via Mare at Powerplant mall. Amazing and affordable Filipino food that never fails.
Truly one of the country's pride in serving classic Filipino dishes.
We only opted to have bibingka (the best!) and puto bumbong for merienda, but we couldn't pass on the menu and ended up ordering for more.
The Tuyo Fried Rice was amazing. The best fried rice I had in recent memory. It was served super hot and the tuyo bits were flourishing and really tasty. I had to pour vinegar on top of it. So good!
As to the Dinuguan, it was another highlight. You could taste the lemongrass/gingery taste which gave it a different kick. The sauce was to die for! The pork cuts were aplenty and thank god it wasn't all fat.
The Fresh Lumpia Ubod was generally ok. Filling was generous and the sauce made it more special.
Overall, nothing can go wrong when you dine at Via Mare. Only the best dining experience you would expect.
No pictures of the food but yay, Via Mare in Rockwell is open again - and with a beautiful, homey look! The only thing I didn't like (or in any Via Mare branch) are the flies that happen to find its way inside the establishment. There's a constant need to swat them away 😖
My favorite dessert here is the ginataang halo halo. Consume while it's still warm! Also, servers are really accommodating here :)
I always come here for their Pancit Luglog. Ambiance is great. There aren't as much choices. But hey. I always come here because I'm craving for some real good Pancit Luglog. As long as their Pancit Luglog forever remains consistent then that's good enough for me.

I love having merienda at Cafe Via Mare, particularly with a plate of freshly-made puto bumbong, slathered with butter and generously sprinkled with grated cheddar cheese. Pair it with brewed coffee and you've got a great combination for chillaxin'.
Cafe Via Mare's offerings evokes the pinoy foodie in you. The menu is laden with filipino classics. The merienda selection is excellent. I especially love the bibingka served warm with freshly frated coconut on top. Order the hot chocolate to pair with the bibingka.

Via Mare has always been a favourite of mine, especially their oysters. It's still one of the best places to have some yummy ones when you feel the urge. What I love here is their spicy tuyo dish. For the price, it's certainly worth it as the serving is enough to make you full! Another fave is their puto bungbung. The muscovado they use is good. Other specialties like their pancit luglog, sinigang, tapa, halo halo are also great choices. What I don't like is that some orders are too pricey and the quantity is not enough.
Great food, even though they were undermanned. Love their Cagcag Rice, rellenong talong, Rockefeller (oysters) & the crabmeat in shells (forgot the name). Need to ask for water about three times, they should add more service crew to accommodate all their clients.
If it's excellent and classic Filipino cuisine that you're craving for, Via Mare is a reliable place to dine in. I can recall this distinction of theirs to be already existent even way back in the 80's. They've turned popular local recipes into refined dishes that are meticulously prepared and elegantly served.
My personal favorite is Via Mare's Pork Binagoongan. Their version is deconstructed where the pork is deep fried and crispy and topped with exquisite bagoong. It comes with rice and mixed exotic vegetables on the side. I prefer to take it with lechon sauce which I request from the courteous wait staff. Other mouth watering favorites include Relyenong Bangus, Bagnet Salad, Tortang Alimango, Kare Kare, Monggo, Tapa, Tinapa Rice, Baked Oysters and Crispy Pata. They are also famous for their Bibingka and Puto Bumbong which is great for merienda and also good as dessert.
Via Mare is also known for their fine service. Hence, it's a frequent choice as venue for small business meetings, intimate family gatherings and relaxed chat with friends.
One of my favorite Filipino restaurants. I keep coming back for the Sun Dried Crispy Tapa. This is the best tapa for me. Then, top this off with a serving of their bibingka.
I can't remember how many times we have already gone to cafe via mare during my lifetime but I will never forget the scrumptious taste of the bibingka with salted egg and laguna cheese as well as their longganisa meal, I gave something a try today which is the bangus belly and it didn't dissapoint, food is always ok in cafe via mare but service in the powerplant branch was a bit out of place, overall, hey it's still cafe via mare so its still a thumbs up for me.

Love the Pancit Luglog and Kare-kare! Their Puto Bumbong with extra Cheddar cheese will surely make you feel the cool breeze of Simbang Gabi! I'd give them two thumbs-up!
The palitaw, puto bumbong and pancit luglog are the best! We are suki to this place and I choose this place for meetings and bonding with friends and colleagues! They just need a bit of an adjustment to their prices but the Filipino/Spanish fusion...delish!
