This lunch in Your Local is 3 weeks in the making since Ig Plummer S bailed out on me twice. Finally, we were able to push through today, despite the typhoon warnings. I called to reserve a table, but they only accept reservations for dinner. Was told to just arrive early since their lunch is from 11:00-2:00 PM. The place is really low-key especially from the road, you wouldn't even think that there's a restaurant there unless you'll look closely.
On to the lunch:
| Pomelo Salad
Shrimp, red onion, winged beans, pickled quail eggs, seasonal green, nim jim, Thai coconut ice cream. (285php)
This stater didn't disappoint! The sweet pomelo was perfect with the shrimp and quail eggs, and the coconut ice cream added sweetness to the salad which is realky nice. Fresh ingredients!
| Torched Salmon Donburi
Torched Norwegian salmon (cooked medium), mentaiko, oboro, ebiko, and salmon skin on roast corn and shitaki black rice. (540php)
This is the star of the lunch, no joke! No wonder everyone is raving about this this because it's really yummy! Your tummy will be really happy with this and so as your tastebuds. The salmon works well with the black rice. This dish brings happiness!
| Chorizo Sandwich
1/3 pound burnt onion and chorizo patty, jalapeño cream cheese, fried egg, seasonal greens on a squid ink bun with parmesan fries and truffled ketchup. (490php)
This burger is not your usual when it comes to taste. The chorizo was so flavorful, but not overpowering. It's not too spicy which I like. Fries were cooked perfectly. Yum!
| Sea Salt Lemonade
Fresh homemade lemonade, sea salt, and Sprite (180php)
Super loved this drink, the saltiness and sourness was just soo good!
| Strawberry Lemonade
Strawberry puree, homemade lemonade, and Sprite (190php)
I am assuming Ig Plummer S loved this too!
⭐️ The staff who assisted us was really nice and she's knowledgeable with their food. We wanted to order the Laksa pasta too, but she said it's gonna be too much for just the two of us.
⭐️ Our food was served in a timely manner despite the fact that it's a busy time and the place is 85% packed.
Dear, Your Local,
Thank you for the high-quality food! Until then! One happy tummy here!
xoxo,
Annechile
It is hard to describe a place like this..... I might have to go back a couple (dozen) more times to find more words. :) Great ambiance, unique dishes with complex flavor, artful plating and presentation, and really reasonable price for the amount of food and the experience you get here. I really enjoyed my first visit! Though the seats overlooking the kitchen are a bit warm (because it's right by the kitchen,) it was really quite interesting to watch the team of chefs work. Thanks for an awesome dinner! I'll be back soon.
They accommodate us even though they are fully booked. I love the torched salmon donburi the serving is perfect. I will surely come back. I highly recommend this restaurant.
One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Period. From service, to music, to vibe, to cocktails, to appies, to mains. Everything was on point.
The Salmon Donburi is a go to dish... must try the cocktails and the cerial milk ice cream!!
Great place, good food & very accommodating staff! Have told my friends about it and will definitely come back!
Best restaurant in the metro! Exceptional food, impeccable service, amazing vibe and energy. Definitely one of my most recommended go-to places when I have guests visiting from abroad :)
Great food fusion, from appetizers to desserts 😍 will definitely go back here!
Been here so many times but it wasn’t till yesterday that I realized how much salmon actually went into the donburi! High quality, great taste and you know they don’t scrimp! Keep doing what you’re doing guys! 👍🏻
I appreciate that they placed my name on the table for my reservation. Perfect ambience for a quiet meal, not boring, not loud. Staff were very accommodating.
The different tastes explodes in your mouth then they start complementing each other. I can eat there the whole day :)
Oh, and very reasonable price... I'd say it's worth your money!
Does not disappoint, food is great and the prices are fair. Definitely lives to its reputation.
The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing.all in all, a perfect stay!😍👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
This is a good place. It feels safe dining here even in the midst of pandemic. Everything is safely prepared, they will give mini paperbags as mask holder, the utensils were plastic-covered. You will be required to sanitize as well before entering.
We ordered the chicken, beef rendang and salmon. All were tasty and servings were enough for our appetite.
Service was great, the waitress helped us navigate thru the menu and even adjusted the menu on their app. Using zomato pro made everything contactless and easy.
The food was great. I highly recommend the Salmon Donburi bowl, it's a bit pricey but well worth it. We got the cereal ice cream to finish things off and it was like having a tiny piece of heaven in our mouth. Chef Denny did a great job with the place and I personally look forward to coming back here to try the rest of their dishes.
My favorite place in Legazpi Village! I would drive to Makati just to get my Your Local fix. Place is packed during dinner - be sure to reserve/call ahead of time to secure your dining spot. Parking is also hard. But the food and ambience makes up for this. My favorite dish would have to be the chorizo burger paired with the truffled fries. Heaven on earth. Staff is also attentive too. 10/10 one of my favorite restaurants in the Metro.
Best Tried with Zomato Gold. The drinks are a little pricey but necessary with the strong spice in many specialty dishes.
Love at first bite! We ordered one of their best selling starters Mock Mentaiko Fries which has a “secret sauce” that tasted so good. It has a Japanese vibes to it as the sauce tasted like it’s a Kewpie based sauce which I definitely love. We also got their torched salmon donburi which is a norweigan salmon on black rice. This is also a flavor of Japan and it tasted really good!! Serving size is fair enough for the price. And the ambiance of the place is definitely worth visiting. Would love to try their variety of wines soon. 💙
Availed of their 2+2 on zomato gold. Pleasantly surprised when the waiter arrived with my drink and a coaster with my name on it. Ordered the whiskey sour, was on the pricier side and tasted strongly of whiskey.
Chili crab buns - were ok but not really a fan of the filling, liked the buns though.
Semi fried eggplant - didn't look very appealing but my favorite among all the things we ordered.
Torched salmon donburi - the typical Your Local order. Not as great as I remember it to be, but still good naman.
No explanations needed, just try the Torched Salmon Donburi and you won’t regret it. I also recommend the Mock Mentaiko Fries, covered in a rich secret sauce, and their Laksa Fettuccine, which might be too spicy for some but just perfect for my liking. I’m not a huge fan of their Tofu Steak though, but I would be down to eat just the shiitake black rice and sunny side up egg that came with it.
Great food, great ambiance (if you like dimly lit places). Pretty pricey but you get what you pay for, right? 10/10 would recommend everything on the menu.

Torched salmon donburi is my go to and favorite dish here. I really love their food and their cocktails. And the ambience. Also, it is walkable to my condo so when I craved for the torched salmon I really come here. Though recently, I was disappointed because one of their attendant forgot our order and we were waiting for more than 40 minutes and we did a follow up and another attendant was “did you order?” Then We figured out that the one who got our order forgot and just came from outside having a phone call. This really turned me off that is why I never came back after that incident and never told my friends about this place already wherein I really use to brag this place before. Though, we were given a free dessert, it does not compensate with the service I got here. Maybe I would come back again and give it another try, i just hope i don’t see those attendants again because it really destroys a restaurant’s prestige.
The first time I was here years ago, I ordered the Torched Salmon Donburi. I liked it, but it didn't make me want to come back for more. So when my friend invited me for dinner here (because of the 2+2 on drinks deal) a few nights ago, I was a bit hesitant to say yes. But, I'm glad I did.
We ordered the Semi-fried Eggplant, Chili Crab Buns and Steak Fried Rice. All were really good. The eggplant was cooked just right -- not too soggy nor undercooked. The steak that we wanted cooked medium, but came out medium rare, was still great. However, it was the Chili Crab Buns which was the clear favorite. The buns are incredibly tasty and toasted right -- crunchy on top, soft on the inside. The Chili Crabs are not so spicy (actually leaning towards not spicy), but other than that, I loved it (also because I love crabs). Of course, we did not pass up on the 2+2 on drinks so we got a Whiskey Sour and a Passion fruit cocktail. The bartender didn't skimp on the alcohol and the mixes were yummy. I liked the Passion fruit more only because I like that fruit, but the whiskey sour wasn't bad at all.
Now can't wait to come back for more.
Always a favorite restaurant and a default place to bring visitors when in Legaspi Village.
Intimate place with good food and nice crowd. The usual favorites are Chicken Rice, Torched Salmon Donburi and Tofu Steak. The Sea Salt Iced Tea can’t be missed.
Mostly busy and they don’t accept reservations during lunch hence be there early to beat the crowd. Service could be improved.
Great ambience (very romantic setting.) It is the perfect place if you want some peace and quiet. Plus the food makes it even better. Will definitely recommend.
Everyone is raving about the salmon donburi but my favorite is their tofu steak. Such a well-balanced plate.
Plus, I love the ambience of this place.
Coming to Your Local, I had pretty high expectations because my sister would rave about it whenever they would go. I finally found the chance to give it a shot and see what all the fuss is about for myself.
I was able to go to Your Local for lunch on a VERY hot day. It was a bit hard to spot. Fortunately we found parking right across it. We entered the old business building and headed through a nameless and unremarkable set of double doors. Inside, I found myself in a dimly lit, New-York style interior with its wooden floors, industrial ceiling, and red bricks and tiles whenever possible. There were a bunch of people around. The waiter routinely ushered us to our table.
We ordered their braised beef pasta and their chorizo sandwich. For our drinks, cranny smith and negroni. And I just found out that Zomato Gold’s 2+2 drinks means you get the exact same two drinks. Sad. Their menu also doesn’t offer a good variety of dishes. I mean, it’s ok. But I’d like more choices.
I enjoyed their braised beef pasta! It was satisfying. Well seasoned and well cooked, I appreciated the fresh basil in the pasta. It was the cheapest among their main dishes. Price is not bad for what I got.
Now, the chorizo sandwich came with what I think is fries with strands of cheese on top. The sandwich itself was pretty good. I liked it along with the fries and the smoky ketchup sauce thing. The burger was packed with flavor and it was juicy. It’s just, after eating half or 3/4ths of it, you kind of get too sick of it to continue. Plus, it’s pricey.
Negroni was just ok. Cranny smith was sweet in the first taste and then very sour. Not bad.
Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Interior: 4.5/5
Value for money: 3/5

Two words: SALMON DONBURI
I'm giving this place 4 stars for creating the best salmon dish. A dream for every salmon lover. Every bite was bursting with flavor. I can go on and on about this dish. Lol.
We also tried the lamb rendang which was pretty flavorful as well.
The place has this kinda chill, dark vibe which I like. I have to say though that I didn't really experience the best service here. Warm and accommodating servers are such a plus to anyone's dining experience so I hope they can work on that. 😊
Date night? Sosyal catch up with amigas? Hiding from your boss drinking in the pub next door? Yes, yes and yes!
Perfect place to be!
If you plan to hide anything-- ugly pimple, true intentions, a ring?! This is perfect because it can be super dark if you sit in certain areas for dinner. Hahaha!
But forreal, food is great. Quality is consistent and the drinks are unique.
Torched salmon over black rice is a must! Great ambience, nice and friendly crew. I love the open kitchen concept. Price is reasonable, you really get your money’s worth!
Went here for dinner with six other friends. Awesome ambiance, space and crew. Had torched salmon donburi - great mix of flavors and texture. Will defo come back!
They have a well crafted menu. Everytime I visit Your Local, their dishes always remain at the same great standard; no variation in taste, consistency and overall presentation. Salmon donburi and the feel good chicken are a must. The Tinker is also a really great cocktail. I love this place so much. Great service too!
A hole-in-the-wall smack in the middle of Legaspi Village, Your Local has just the right ambiance, perfect for either intimate date nights with your significant other or chill nights out with your barkada.
They offer unique food items such as something as basic as their Feel Good Chicken which is just fried chicken with a maple cream cheese dip, to something as elaborate as their Torched Salmon Donburi. At least of their food I was able to try, my favorites were their Braised Beef Pasta and Chorizo Sandwich. Don't forget to get their Mock Mentaiko Fries to go with your cocktails, too!
Glad to visit this restaurant which is very near to my work place...Very cozy place...great food! Good customer service... definitely will come back to try your other menu...
We have been planning to try this restaurant for the longest time because of the positive reviews we’ve read. To no surprise, it lived up to our expectations!
The food tasted unusual, but really delicious! I am craving again for the Torched Salmon Donburi 👌🏻 The salmon was cooked perfectly and it went well with the shitake black rice! Ohhhh...and the presentation was so pretty!
Despite being full house during lunch, the serving time did not really take that long. Servers were quick and attentive.
This place is highly recommended ❤️
This has always been our favorite date place! We always order the pomelo salad with unique coconut dressing, chicken wings with flavorful dip (placed around the bowl), and the salmonburi. Friendly servers too!
I'll be going back for that Laksa Fettucine!!! In contrast with all the people I know, the very well-known Salmon dish didn't amaze me as I expected it to.
My boyfriend and I decided to go here to try something new. We ordered Chicken Rice, Braised Beef Pasta, and their Passion Fruit with Burnt Orange juice. I really liked the Chicken Rice and my boyfriend was just okay with his pasta - he thinks that the tomato taste was overpowering but it was fine with me. I liked the drink a lot. I'd like to go back and try their other food.

If you are part of Makati’s top restaurants to try, you know you are at the top of the food chain. Their best selling dish, tasted great! But I found I could not finish the entire dish. Willing to give this restaurant another try. Your Local Makati
Food was really flavorful and tasty! Servings were just right. We got the following:
1) Pomelo Salad - Yummy! Having Thai coconut ice cream as a dressing was a different but unique take on this Thai staple.
2) Braised Beef Pasta - I love pasta and this one hit the spot! The beef serving is also quite generous (a bit too much actually). Found it a little mushy also but all good!
3) Chicken Rice - Chicken was tender and the sauce wasn't too overpowering. Definite comfort food!
Your Local is definitely one of Legaspi’s bests. We tried the Torched Salmon Donburi, Steak Fried Rice, and Cereal Milk Ice Cream for dessert. The place is perfect for dates or actually any day you just feel like having no bullsh*t great food.
May 2019 Update:
Tried the Dong Buns and they were amazing! To make things even better, they now have Zomato 2+2 drinks and a great playlist also.
The crowds at Your Local has lessened a bit as more trendy restaurants have started to open in Makati and BGC. Having said that, I still love the food here - especially their chili crab buns, torched salmon donburi, and Lamb rendang
I hope they start innovating soon though. Feel like their menu has remained the same the past few years
A little piece of New York hidden in Makati. Fantastic ambiance coupled with a vibe like no other. Torched Salmon Donburi obviously, but don’t miss the Mentaiko Fries as well.
One of the best dining spots in Makati which serves elevated dishes you probably haven’t tried before. Loved almost everything - beef rendung buns, pomelo salad, tofu steak and eggs, fries with truffled ketchup, torched salmon donburi!!! Try also the cereal milk ice cream for dessert!
One of the best date spots in Makati. Deem lighting, good food. The problem i encountered would be the need to reserve a table in advance. This place ain’t for the spontaneous eatouts, not unless it’s not a peak dining times!
Huhu their torched salmon donburi is so addicting. Coupled with their Singaporean crab buns, sobrang busog. The only thing I haven't liked here is the laksa fettucine. That was kinda weird. Everything else has been top notch.
How can you not like Your Local? I’ve only been here twice and each time knocked my socks off. I’ve tried the Feel Good Fried Chicken, Salmon Donburi, and the Rendang. All dishes tasted like something familiar, something home-y; but Your Local manages to step them up a notch and add the extra zing you didn’t know you needed.
And for the lack of better descriptions, their fried chicken tastes like elevated Chicken Joy. Haha, it’s that good!
Also looove their unassuming yet classy NYC-vibe interiors.
Personally, the best part of the meal was the Your Local best (froot loops ice-cream). After eating two heavy courses, I craved something sweet to counterbalance the taste. My sweet tooth always gets the better of me after a meal and this dessert didn’t let me down. It was so deliciously creamy, I would 100% order this again, much noms!

Pricey food for the serving size but totally paid off on the taste and quality of the food. I would still definitely go back and try the rest on their menu!
The place is so lovely! It’s too cozy and perfect for a date night! The beef rendang buns made my night, the beef is just so tender and seasoned perfectly, the pomelo salad is also good but I hope they could make their portions a little bit bigger.
I loooove how the restaurant is hidden from the world. It is, as other reviewers have said, a hidden gem. My cousin suggested that we try this place out. The ambience is really nice and cozy- lights were dim, tables were candlelit... it is a great place for intimate dates or for catching up with small group of friends (no need to be conscious about makeup hehe!). I ordered the torched mackerel donburi while my cousin ordered tofu steak and eggs. I like my dish OK... a little small proportion for the price but I guess you are paying for the quality and not quantity. My cousin also had me try his tofu (because I was still hungry) and I think I prefer his dish more. I would like to try other dishes, but because place is a little pricey, not really suitable for casual dining.
I would love to bring my boyfriend here to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries. ❤
Your Local is one of my fave places. ❤❤❤ the place is very quaint and quite cosy. :) I always order the salmon donburi here. Ahhh it is so so good and it never fails to amaze me. The flavors are just too good and are delightful on the palate. :) I also super love the chili crab buns here. Their buns are toasted to perfection. :) I love their earl grey pudding dessert as well. Basicaly everything here is good. It can get crowded too but you can see why people keep on coming back here. :)
I am a Filipino Australian so when someone's says "I'm going to my local!" - it means they are going to their local pub...usually for a beer, a cheap feed , maybe a slap or a bet on the TAB
I wish this place was My Local instead
This is not a pub...this is a little place in Makati which has fantastic decor and ambience serving some of the best food I've had in Manila.
Mate...this is the bees knees
Ordered:
- Chilli Crab Buns
- Semi Fried Eggplant
- Mentaiko Fries
- Torched Salmon Donburi
- Passionfruit, Soda with Burnt Orange
Chilli Crab Buns - the crab is shredded mixed with coriander which gives it this nice bite...but the killer move in this dish was the steam bun (mantou)...it was deep fried...omg...omg the texture was amazing...from now on I'm getting all my baos deep fried
Semi Fried Eggplant - I love eggplant when its soft...and this was cooked to perfection....what took it to the next level was the sauce they created for it...the ponzu...some of the richest sh*t I have ever tasted
Mentaiko Fries - this came out looking like someone #&$& all over it....but when I tasted it....I wanted to $&*# all over me....think instead of salmon dip....a smoked gravlax on steroids pureed and then placed on french fries....its apparently a secret sauce with nori..I'm thinking because of the name Mentaiko its fish roe
Torched Salmon Donburi - so this was highly recommended....but to be honest seeing the photos and what it looked like...I wasnt mad impressed...dont get me wrong it was beautiful to look at...but I thought here's another donburi rice bowl...another poke ball..yada yada yada.
Could I not be more wrong!!
This dish was SIMPLY AMAZING..texture wise it was like Drake and the Weeknd doing another song together...meaning...this sh*t just works...I have never had such a crunchy rice bowl texture...it was like poprocks in my mouth. Salmon was top notch but it was the rice.
You know what they say...once you go Black Rice...you never go back
Passionfruit Soda with Burnt Orange - visually appealing drink...that burnt orange nailed this drink for me...made an average passionfruit drink level up...would of loved some tequila with it
Overall this place was fantastic...texture was probably a huge standout for me...would highly recommend for my Foodie peeps out there

We shared Torched Salmon Donburi and Braised Beef Pasta. Artisan but quite pricey. But it’s a must try really, because it has unique food that’s actually good to try once. You’d have to go here for different food at a time. Luckily I ate with a friend so we got to try two at a time.
Your Local has been on my “to try” list for quite some time. However, I was a bit hesitant due to the street parking and no reservation (Sunday lunch). I hate going all the way to Makati and end up eating elsewhere because there are no seats available. However, we took our chance because it was a rainy day.
For starters, we ordered the 3 different buns (Chili Crab, Double Dong, Beef Rendang). I have read mixed reviews about the buns, so I was hesitant to try it out. In my opinion, Beef Rendang is the best among them, but Chili Crab is still worth a try.
There are two kinds of fries: parmesan fries with truffled ketchup and mock mentaiko fries - both were good and worth a try.
For main course, we ordered the torched salmon donburi and torched mackarel donburi. We agreed that each donburi has its own unique flavor. I would definitely recommend either donburi.
Based on mixed reviews here, Your Local is “expensive” or “serving is too small”, however, that is not the case (for me). Their dishes are all decently priced for the quality of food they provide. Service is superb! My only complaint is that the washroom floor is too slippery and is prone to accidents (especially for elderly or PWDs).
If you are looking for a great place to have fusion food, Your Local has one of the best. Very innovative in mixing Southeast Asian flavour with European - done very well. The rendang meat are also very tender. Definitely recommended. Plus you can order your coffee from Yardstick.! Score!
I've been to this place several times already and I can say food was really good. Started off with parmesan fries and for the main, lamb rendang. Cozy ambiance is a plus and service was great as well.
Ambiance: This is what I loved the most about this place. I'm sure it looks great during the day but dining here at night is something different. Area was limited but spacious, the intimacy of the dining experience isn't compromised even if the place is full. The candle light being the only source of illumination is a nice touch. Lastly, their playlist is the bomb.
Location: I loved that it is quite secluded from the usual busy Makati streets and yet it is still easily accessible.
Service: Attentive. Efficient.
Food: We ordered parmesan fries for starters. It is as straightforward as it can get but still yummy. For mains, we had laksa fettucini and torched salmon donburi.
The pasta composed of fettucini tossed in flavorful laksa broth made richer with coconut cream and topped with mussels, scallops and quail eggs. Salmon was seasoned and cooked just right, combined with variety of vegetables served with black rice. Although both my boyfriend and I have conservative taste buds, we still appreciated the eccentricity of the food we were served. They tasted strange at first, but really delicious nonetheless. It is highly recommended for those who are always out to try something new.
Lamb Rendang and Torched Salmon Donburi are a must try! Service is good. Never had any bad experience in this restaurant. A bit pricey though.
There were nothing special about the Beef rendang and chili crab buns. You can totally skip these orders. Their salmon donburi and laksa fettuccine are the main highlights of this restaurant. The fusion of the flavors are just outright amazing! Such astonishing dishes that you can’t find elsewhere. The salmon donburi has that sweet savory flavor where you can just munch on it bite after bite. The laksa flavor was very rich and satisfying.
Your Local is a great place for lunchtime cocktails and a lunch that is a little fancy without the need to wear a suit. The place is nicely decorated with subway tiled walls and old style cafe tables and chairs.
We came in for coffee but this isn't served so drinks over ice it was. The Arnie Parmer tea and orange was a nice combo and the saltiness of the lemonade had you enjoying the sips.
The clear winner was the chorizo burger. This thing made your mouth water with every bite! The cheese sprinkled chips were great!

Josh and I can't even remember the last time we went on an actual date -- there were too many things that happened in the last two months, and we never actually got to hang out as much as we wanted to. 😢 But last Saturday, we're finally able to meet, and we felt the urge to splurge a bit. 🙊 I decided to visit him in Makati, since he had to work. It's also my excuse so we could go eat at a fancy restaurant in Makati. 😆
Since I-don't-know-when, I have already been eyeing Your Local as our next date place, but we always didn't have the perfect timing to visit. So I thought, maybe now's the time! 😍 We booked our table via Booky, since I've read that the placed gets packed quickly. We got there at around 5PM -- a bit early for our 6PM reservation, and watched some episodes of Steven Universe at Yardstick, which is conveniently located just beside Your Local. (More about that on the next review). When the clock struck 6PM, we proceeded to the restaurant, and were promptly seated. I have read in many reviews that the restaurant has dim lights, but I didn't know it would be THAT dark. 🙈 We then proceeded to order the following:
✅ PARMESAN FRIES WITH TRUFFLED KETCHUP (Php 145) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I used to hate truffle flavored anything, because I always remember how truffle oil tasted in itself, so strong it leaves a mark on your life. HAHAHA. But now, I have learned to eat truffle flavored food, and enjoy it, too! Simple as this may seem, we loved how the fruity and nutty taste of the parmesan blended well with the fries, plus the flavorful and slightly sour tomato truffle ketchup. We're off to a good start with this! 😉
✅ LAMB RENDANG (Php 595) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was telling Josh that this was one of their bestsellers, but he was initially a bit reluctant to get this. BUT, the sous vide organic egg won him over (I know his weaknesses!) 😁 And I'm glad we got this, because it was really good! Rendang can be considered a variation of the Asian curry -- and Your Local's version is definitely well-thought of. The shredded lamb rendang is quite spicy and flavorful. I appreciated how it didn't have that gamey taste / smell of usual lamb dishes! Truth be told, this is the first time I appreciated a lamb dish. 😅 Make sure to spread some mint jelly on your lamb, if you still find it to be a bit gamey. 😉 The sous vide organic egg is carefully placed atop the red raisin black rice. When you eat all the components in one bite, you'll be amazed at how a spoonful of food can be THAT flavorful -- the flavors dancing on your tongue. It does get a bit cloying if you eat this on your own though. But people who love the spicy Asian flavors will have no problem in devouring this. 💁
✅ TORCHED SALMON DONBURI (Php 695) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
To say this Torched Salmon Donburi is delicious would be an understatement. (Look how I subtly added an additional star right there! You didn't notice it, did you?) It's sooo good: aside from the various flavors playing in your mouth, the varying textures of each component plays a huge role too -- and you'll surely be torn about wanting to finish the whole thing and saving the portions to savor slowly. 😍 I'll never look at salmon the same way again. 💜 To be honest, I never really liked cooked salmon, as I prefer salmon sashimi. But this totally changed my mind! Salmon cooked medium is superb. 😍 The shiitake black rice also gave the dish its depth, veering away from the typical Japanese donburi.
The two dishes we got were so different, I was suprised I actually got it from the same restaurant. 😁 Service was really good, too! From the time we arrived up until we left, we were promptly assisted with everything we needed. Since we booked our table through Booky, we also got Php 100 off our meal plus a free dessert:
✅ CHOCOLATE EARL GREY PUDDING AND LIME MOUSSE - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I never had a dessert this intricately made. 😮 You'll be surprised that the earthy taste of earl grey actually perfectly complements the sweetness of the chocolate. The lime mousse added a welcome tartness, while ths milk crumbs (these are actually polvoron-like HEHE) provided a very much welcome grainy texture to an otherwise smooth textured dessert. It can be a bit sweet, but share this with others and you're good! 😉
Foodies will probably have a hard time especially when dining here during the dinner time, as the poor lighting makes it extremely challenging to take good photos. 😣 At some point, you'll probably be like me: giving up on the chance to take instagrammable photos, and just settling on savoring every bite of the sumptuous food. 😍🤤
If you haven't visited Your Local yet, please do. You won't regret it. No wonder it's been acclaimed to be one of the best restaurants in the world, based on Conde Nast Travellers' List. 😲
#EatDrinkSplurge
The decor is very third wave. I think there's a lot of work put into making fusion dishes here though and the flavours are there. I had the burger and the ponzu eggplant. All very good, but I tasted my friends' food and all were not as good as mine. I cant imagine on a busy day it might be a nightmare to find parking.
Ahh, love everything about this place! It's not a huge place, looks very cool inside, and it's LIT...with candles.
Torched salmon donburi = My cousin said this is one of her favorite places for salmon. It was great and very tender.
Lamb rendang = Interesting texture. Rice and egg complimented the lamb. Very good!
Chicken rice = Chicken is my least favorite meat but I really liked this. The flavor was good and it was tender as well. There's nothing worse than dry, flavorless chicken. Although it was really good, it was my least favorite out of the three entrees.
We got two cocktails except I don't remember which ones. Both were refreshing and sweet!
For dessert we had the cereal milk ice cream with cereal on the side. Can't go wrong with this!
One of Makati's hidden gem. Literally hidden as it's bit on those very commercial location yet people flock this place. Heads up that you need to have prior reservation for them to be able to accomodate you. There was a time we went as walk in but we weren't able to dine as they cannot accommodate us even if we are willing to wait. That's how good their business is.
Onto the food - we ordered the following: torched salmon donburi, lamb rendang and beef pasta. Oh gosh, after tasting these i understood why people flock this restaurant. The food was soooo good! Serving size is for single only though thus turned out to be quire pricey. But i think it's because of the quality pf the dish plus the ambiance is fine dining. Even if it's quite pricey, i would want to come back and have these dishes again.
My favorite restaurant in Makati!!!! Been here for a couple of times already and i always tell myself to try out other dishes aside from salmon donburi, but i always end up getting that cos its too good to resist.
We’ve been to Your Local on several occasions now and it’s consistently interesting and delicious. I really enjoyed the torched salmon donburi I had on our last visit. Being conjoined with Yardstick is great too!
Food was very good! Food plating is 10/10 for me. Staff was very accommodating. Ambiance is cozy. I suggest going early because place gets full and queue is long. Also a recommended date place
Lasap ko pa ang kanilang donburi (in pictures)! A generous serving of salmon in proper Japanese donburi treatment in a refreshing bed of black rice! Soy and mirin sauce marries fatty fish with low glycemic carbo bed while carbo bed makes sure no sauce goes to waste!
Especially remember the dark and seemingly intimate ambiance of it—perfect offset to the crawlers on my table. Would love to give it 5 stars but crawlers had to be accounted for.
Chili Crab Buns --- These buns were so good and I cannot lie. The experience was like I was eating on a beach. It was bursting with flavors: chili crab, cilantro and the greens and was sealed with perfectly fried mantou. I never regretted I ordered this one. Lamb Rendang ---
One of the best lamb dishes i tried. The dish had a lot of techinique in its plate. The execution was perfect. Lamb was soft and shredded nicely. It was addictively spicy. You combine that with the earthy black rice, it was heavenly. Of course my favorite part was when I sliced the egg in half, the ooze was quite a show. Well done.

Probably one of the few restaurants in Legaspi Village who started the whole concept centric neighborhood food play. Go for their Torched Salmon Donburi. Clean to the taste, balance use of ingredients and serving size is just right . Perfect ambiance for a casual date.
Really amazing food. Best salmon donburi I ever tasted. Great service too! No complaints other than a request that was promised to be fulfilled. It was a surprise dinner for my boyfriend. I made reservations early and requested for a surprise cake/message for him. The lady on the phone said yes but nothing special happened on the day.
Their lamb rendang haunts my dreams.
Seriously good food. Innovative without being pretentious. I'd rather have less words and more eating when dining here.
One of their best sellers, the torched salmon keeps me coming back for more. Pricey, yes, but totally worth it in my opinion. Their Lamb Rendang is good too.

Almost got lost in trying to find the place but I guess that’s where the fun comes in! 😅
Food is quite pricey but I must say that it’s worth every penny. The dishes are bursting with flavor. I highly recommend their Torched Salmon Donburi. 😀👌🏻
Tip: place is said to be crowded at night so it wouldn’t hurt to reserve before going past working hours.
My boyfriend and I randomly decided to eat at this restaurant one night after work. We ended up liking the ambiance and the food! We would go back for their Cereal Milk Ice Cream! It's so good! We sat by the open kitchen area and it's nice to see how your food is being prepared. I would recommend to family and friends.
A bit on the expensive side but definitely worth it. Ordered salmon donburi and lamb rendang. The portions were huge and we were barely able to finish it. The lamb rendang was good but not the best. Salmon donburi was amazing. The desert was great as well.
OK. Here is the constitution of this meal:
(1) Wine: Cullerot, Cellar del Roure, 2015-a blend of Verdil (an indigenous grape variety exclusively found in Valencia, Spain), Pedro Ximénez, Macabeo and Chardonnay. Its minerality, acidity and roundness served as its "jetons" to negotiate with the dishes on the palate.
(2) Starter: Beef Redang Bun. Redang is a thick gravy believed to be originated by Minangkabau people in Western Sumatra, Indonesia. The highlight of this dish was the bun-a sort of Chinese style fried Mantou (馒头).
(3) Main: Laksa Fettuccine. Laksa is a Peranakan noodle soup. This was truly a combination of Asian condiments and western ingredients. The Peranakans are the descendants of the Chinese people who immigrated to the Malaya peninsula and adopted Malay lifestyle between the 15th and 17th centuries. They have flourished their own cuisine, language, costume, art, etc. The uniqueness of this dish was that quail eggs were used to replace hen eggs as would be done in the conventional method for cooking Laksa noodle dishes.
The owner/chef of this unconventional Asian restaurant is the person who owns the contemporary Peranakan restaurant "Hey Handsome" which I went to yesterday.
I came again for dinner. Two days in a row. A suggestion to the management team: please be a bit more gegerous in offering wine by the glass. Two reds and two whites wouldn't be sufficient.
I came again for lunch. Tofu Steak with Sunny Eggs, Shiitake Mushrooms and Parmesan Cheese topped on Black Rice. This chef is really the best I have so far found in this city. French mise-en-place with Peranakan (the Chinese whose ancestors adopted Malay lifestyle) cuisine done by a Kitchen team led by a Filipino chef.
Very nice to be back here after one year. Tried the salmon this time-amazingly tasty. Superb.
Food and drinks were all good! We ordered the Laksa Fettuccini and Torched Salmon Donburi which were both amazing. It’s a different twist to your normal fettuccini which was surprisingly good! The salmon was also torched perfectly and the sauce went well with the salmon and rice. Their gin tonic was also good!
Food: 4/5; ambience 5/5; service 5/5; price 3/5. Food was great. Laksa, hananese chicken, lamb rendang, laksa pasta, chicken wings, but the steak needs improvement. I have some bias against thinly sliced beef being called steaks. Taste was great though, but I kept thinking that I was eating a buffed slice of tapa which cost more than a thousand bucks. But not their fault. Rent is steep in Makati. Hey, it tasted great. There should be a law that a slice of beef can only be called a steak it it is at least an inch thick. Loved the pomelo salad. I dont drink and it looks like a great place to drink.
