My first time but definitely won’t be last time. Great service with great Italian food. We had beef carpaccio, pizza, pasta and steak. Every dishes was super delicious , this is best Italian food ever in Manila .
The best authentic italian food! Love the decor too. So simple and yet very elegant. I think this resto deserves a michelin star!
True... it is nice place with a special italian touch especially music...and food!

Been my favorite Italian restaurant for many years now. Authentic with excellent service. Will keep on coming back specially when craving for their truffle pasta and panna cotta, a must try!
Good food good service goodecomm ambience nice & clean as well as the toilets. Highly recommend to friends. Its really Italian food.
They are 4 starts for me. Staff are all good and nice. Owner( Emilio) was a good singer too. One last thing, the free lemon chello, grappa and sambuca was awesome!
The best Italian restaurant in Asean. The Fettuccini Caruso is a must have!!!
This is almost the best restaurant in South East Asia. It is just terrific and we miss it terribly now that we have departed Manila. Food and service just wonderful. How all restaurants should be!!
Grazie a tutti. 10
Ordered their Tagliatelle al Fruitti di Mare and it was sooo good! Seasoned perfectly and teeming with seafood, serving is large enough to satisfy an average appetite. But while the owner(?) had been very friendly and welcoming, the waiters could definitely need improvement. We're still in the middle of our meal when the waiter took away our plate of complimentary bread sticks. Walang sabi-sabi. But their pasta is one of the best I've ever tried so I turned a blind eye. Just wishing better service from them since they're charging high for their dishes.
Chanced upon this delightful restaurant while waiting for a couple of friends....perfect ambiance for an Italian restaurant and they obviously use high quality ingredients for their food. Food was great and authentic and the place really makes you feel like you're in Italy. Would highly recommend and return to try their other dishes. Might have some trouble finding parking though.
Very wonderful Italian restaurant. Totally worth it. Delicious pastas and appetizers. Good service. Emilio really looks after the customers to provide excellent dining experience. The minestrone soup is a must try as well as their caesar salad. I love the osso bucco, very tender meat.
Charming place. Good service and clean! Good crowd and not too noisy. We tried two risottos , mushroom and asparugus... go with the latter. Carbonara was good but not great. Bucatini alla amatriciana was great. you can order it with their fresh pasta. Mozzarella di bufala alla capresenwas god but not great. It did not reach the crisp level.... but goes well with chili flakes. Tagliatelle alla crema di tartufo was a winner. Filetto di manzo al pepe verde or al cognac another great find. A Match with a good bottle of Barolo ...
ask for recommendations but make sure u check the price before indulging.. good food =great price
We’ve been going to Caruso every year when we are on holiday and it’s one of the restaurant we must eat whenever we go back to the Philippines, the staff are very nice and very friendly, food are very authentic our favorite dish( tagliatelle with truffles cream and Parma ham it’s a must try!!! Then for deserts I’ll go for my all time favorite tiramisu)
I had forgotten all about Caruso. It’s been many years since I’ve been there and it’s as good as ever! Fine quality Italian cuisine. In my opinion any dish you chose is sure to be excellent.
How is this restaurant rated below 4? Everything about it was amazing. Went here for my boyfriend's birthday because he requested for the best carbonara in Manila, and I good friend recommended this. Caruso did not disappointed. The interiors might be a little intimidating because it screams authentic Italian, but the staff are all but that—they were all super warm and accommodating and even gave my beau a free birthday pizza. Wine selection was satisfactory, and just the overall experience was remarkable. 10/10 would be back.
I don't get some of the negative reviews on here, must be competitors.
Everything about this place is fantastic, service, food, ambiance.
My favorite Italian restaurant in Makati.
Best Italian restaurant in the Metro! Had a great experience dining here. The food was authentic, and the staff were very attentive. We went here for lunch, and I think the ambiance would be even better at night. I would definitely come back here, and bring some friends with to try :)
Fantastic, authentic Italian food. Reasonable prices. Great service. Realistic Italian decoration and feel.
Really enjoyed the food here. Had Spaghetti Bolagnase, which was great. Starter of bread, balsamic vineger and olive oil also very nice. Tiramasu was great too.
No complaints, maybe a slightly bigger serving of Tiramasu. Really recommend it for authentic and amazing quality Italian food.
Went here for my father's bday dinner. Food was fresh and they even gave my father a birthday pizza to take home. Ambiance was cozy and lighting level was just right. Wait staff was very knowledgable, service-minded and parking was readily available. We were fortunate to get a table w/o reservations as it was Saturday night. Definitely worth a return visit for good food and welcoming atmosphere.
Caruso is our go to place for Italian during our company dinners. The quality of the food and the ambiance of the place are top notch. We have yet to order a lackluster dish here at Caruso. Fun tip: Order a bunch of different pastas when you're in a group and you can already ask the waiters to serve it to each of you portioned. So you each get a plate like sampler of several pastas.
Ordered food from here for delivery via the ever-reliable Foodpanda app.
First off the salad - Rucola con pomodoro e scaglie di parmigiano - a delightful light salad consisting of arugula, cherry tomatoes, walnuts and parmesan cheese with a tasty olive oil and balsamic dressing. Quite pricey at php 460, but very fresh and quality ingredients.
Next was Garganelli di mamma martina- simply one if the best pastas I've tasted. Cream based and with a lovely meaty bite.
Spaghetti alla Amatriciana was good too. Tomato based with bacon Bucatini and pecorino cheese.
On the expensive side, but tastes great on the days you want to splurge.
Chanced upon eating here before checking out the furniture in LRI. The focaccia bread served as an appetizer as fresh, as well as the truffle fettuccine and the calzone.
Caruso's is an experience as much as it is a meal. Yes it is expensive and the portions are rather small. And the food is amazing. We had the cold seafood salad which was just right. The lapu-lapu was prepared to perfection. The homemade spinach tortellini was amazing. I wanted more.
As for the experience... On Saturday night you have the Marcos' personal piano player. This gentleman is amazing. Can and will play anything. And is a true joy to meet. The staff is excellent and very well trained. The owner is unassuming and a joy as well. Yes it's expensive but it is a terrific experience. Enjoy!
Our meal began on a high note, with a complimentary round of freshly baked Focaccia bread delivered to the table. As dip, the combination of balsamic vinegar and olive oil was deceptively simple yet tasty, resulting in a mouthwatering epicurean delight. Much like French fries with your burger, this bread can be treated as a good “sidekick” for any main pasta entrée as well.
La Risacca Salad (PhP 860) consisted of juicy chunks of tomatoes and plump shrimps in tortella. The shrimp’s taste was straightforward and won the perfect marriage of sweet and savory right in a bite. Yes, it was appetizing albeit not too bold and exciting in terms of flavor. We just wished there were more basil leaves or lettuce to the salad. It’s a good move to get this dish, if you’re not much of an adventurous eater.
Given choices for pasta, which would you prefer: red, white, or green? The good news is that in Caruso Ristorante Italiano, the answer can be all of the above. A long list of different kinds of pasta is available on the menu, and customers are free to choose three kinds of pasta in seafood sauce to be served in one plate. Note: Portions are rather small compared to the full-fledged/regular portion.
We had Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Peperoncino con Vongole (PhP 590 – regular size)—spaghetti with garlic, olive oil, chili and clams, Garganelli in Salsa di Pomodoro e Gamberetti (PhP 630 – regular size)—homemade garganelli with shrimp and tomato sauce, and Tagliolini Portofino con Salmone e Caviale (PhP 750 – regular size)—homemade taglioni with salmon and caviar. All three were creamy and perfectly seasoned, neither heavy nor greasy.
Capping off our carbs quota, the Tagliatelle Alla Crema di Tartufo (PhP 680) was finished with truffle cream and topped with the lovely parma ham. It’s both decadent and comforting, with a hint of truffles.
In a world filled with too many kinds of pizzas, the awesome flavor of cheese may be one of the most basic edible explanation proving why classic cheese pizza is a hit. Boasting the three colors of the Italian flag—red (tomatoes), white (Mozzarella cheese), and green (basil), the Margherita Pizza (PhP 670) was simple and just timeless. I would have found it more remarkable with a thinner and crispier crust.
The Margherita with Mozzarella Bufala (PhP 980) was presented with a slight upgrade from the Margherita Pizza; that is, with the snowy white bufala mozzarella cheese featuring a mild and slightly sour taste. The pizza crust was about the same, soft and a bit chewy.
For dessert, we had the deliciously creamy classic Italian Panna Cotta (PhP 360) which took me like on a mini Italian vacation while relishing it with my eyes closed. The concoction of this sweet pudding-like treat can put the regular panna cotta or leche flan we know to shame. Its texture was so good I just can’t get enough! :) Obviously, it’s a must-try.
Punctuating the end of lunch was Caruso’s Tiramisu (PhP 360), which was likewise flavorful without being too dense. Those layers of cocoa-dusted mascarpone, coffee syrup and sweet, light cake were definitely delightful. Once you taste heaven, you wouldn’t to come back down to earth.
As a good wine paired to every dish, we tried the Prosecco Brut Treviso Agr. Venegazzù Veneto (PhP 380/glass, PhP 2800/bottle) (second from the left on the picture below) which brought out the fruity taste of tomatoes and the inherent sweetness of the cheese, framing up the integrity and quality of the other ingredients overall. It was zesty and enjoyable, party in the mouth! :)
They have one of the best Pizzas in manila. I love their pastas all of them taste delicious. Caruso has delicious creeps. Their service os also great. Everyone should try this restaurant. 😊
Caruso Ristorante Italiano is owned by born and raised Italian men - Emilio Mina and Dario Gardini. Popular among expats in the Philippines, Caruso is occupied mostly of these fine ladies and gentlemen. Don't get me wrong. It's not exclusive for them. Maybe like me, you often pass by Nicanor Garcia St. and let your curiosity stop from just looking at the restaurant and forget about giving it a try. This time, I didn't let Caruso pass by and took that chance to taste a portion of Italy through their authentic Italian dishes.
The Food:
Bruschette Pomodoro (Php 460) - Lifted the next toast on my plate, Brushette Pomodoro. This one's a simple charmer! O and I love the freshness of tomatoes and basil put together in toasted bread.
Crostini Funghi Porcini (Php 480) - Toasted bread with porcini mushroom - famous mushroom variety used in Italian cuisine. These 'shrooms' had a strong appeal with a hint of nutty flavor that hyped the afternoon even more. I wanted to take myself on a mushroom hunt after immersing myself into these Crostini Funghi Porcini mushrooms.
Margherita with Bufala Cheese (Php 820) - Kids look forward to their spaghetti or pizzas. Like a child at heart, I waited and expected a pizza to come out. Some kind of cherry on top of my Italian afternoon. I knew Caruso emphasizes on authenticity when I had their Margherita with Bufala Cheese pizza. The combination of tomato, fresh buffalo mozzarella and basil fell right through my heart. I couldn't find a reason why I should say 'no' to this pizza.
Lasagna All Emiliana (Php 630) - I don't need any help in finishing this Lasagna All Emiliana. You guys, this is the bomb! It's a fine fine lasagna you couldn't just taste elsewhere. This is an Emiliana style homemade lasagna with meat sauce. Now I want to live in an Italian home to get the real pasta deal. Blame this lasagna for increasing (once again) my standards for Italian food.
Panna Cotta (Php 320) - Oh my sweet spot was awakened! It's Caruso's Panna Cotta that won over everything our lips have touched. Put together a dense, milky and creamy texture in a not-too-sweet classic vanilla dessert. You'll want to take another ride to Caruso for this dessert! Well, I did! And I want to go back now just for this exquisite dessert.

Food is great although a bit pricey. I love their pizza! A must try is the 5-cheese pizza. It's the real deal. Best to call ahead as the place gets full at peak hours.
Did not get to read the required attire on the door, did not know what to expect on a sunday late afternoon quiet. Did not know you need to make reservations first. We came in ripped jeans and black shirts. The place was surprisingly jam-packed and the staff were accommodating. Festive vibe and a lot of special occasions celebrated. Pizza as good as the one they have in Boracay. The desserts I liked the most. Berries for a change. Really yummy.
Caruso Ristorante Italiano in Makati has been serving authentic Italian cuisine for almost 10 years now. Owned by true-blooded Italians, you can certainly expect an authentic Italian dining experience.
The ambiance at Caruso looks upscale without being too intimidating- warm-lamp lighting, chic bar area, woody accents, simple chairs, and a piano to complement the cozy and romantic vibe.
We had the Misto di Affetatti Italiani e Verdure Marinate (P1,630)- Piatto Fantasia typical Italian Cold Cuts. Not cheap but it was a platter of quality meat to whet the appetite before the main dishes.
It was interesting to know that they serve heart-shaped pizza and Winnie the Pooh pizza for the kids and kids at heart.
For pasta, we had the Trittico di Pasta Terra (P790)- three kinds of pasta to sample more flavors from the menu. Each pasta was unique, al dente and flavorful, but I especially loved their Garganelli Porcini.
Caruso also offers a selection of dishes made with veal- a staple Italian meat. They have veal shank, pan- fried veal, veal slices, veal liver and veal steak.
For desserts, we tried their Tiramisu (P320), Zuppa Inglese (P320) and Panna Cotta (P320). If I would choose just one, it would be the Panna Cotta. Soft, smooth, thick and creamy Italian dessert topped with nuts and sweet caramel sauce. A must-try and definitely one of a kind!
One of my favorite Italian restaurants. A bit pricey though. Their pizzas are great and their pastas very authentic-tasting. Difficult area to park though.
Good food and nice ambience. Service is what need to be improved. Cocktails to be avoided. Can't to simple mojito! Billing is slow. They don't give itemized bill. Only official receipt.
Due to quality of food and nice ambience recommended for business as well as personal outing.
A fine dining Italian restaurant, with the attendant price tag, for high-level business meetings and well to do people. Nevertheless the food is great, the carpaccio is authentic, the pasta's are cooked just right, the pizzas are made from fresh ingredients and the dessert is mouth watering. There is nothing not to like about this place except the price.
This is the place for great old school style Pinoy service. The food tastes as Italian as it can get, with a wonderful atmosphere. Pricey but well worth it.
We popped in there for dinner last night and were not disappointed. For starters, we tried the lapu lapu carpaccio which was excellent followed by pizza. One of the Italian owners was there too which explains why the food stays true to it's traditions. My one negative and it's a very small one really, is the lighting in the restaurant, it's really too bright and if it were less so then it would enhance the mood. Other than that would definitely return.
Always love the food here and they are great when it comes to special requests. Best Pizaa in Makati!
Great traditional Italian cuisine. Pizzas are superb. Try the Baked Gnochi or the Spaghetti Carbonara that is baked in the oven with a Parmesan crust.
