If you are looking for a nice place for a good coffee and good old Filipino dishes in the heart of Makati, come and visit Commune. They serve fresh Filipino food, close to home cooked meals, less salt but full flavor dishes. I recommend you try their lunch bowls, it comes with homemade jalapeño, atchara, and coffee for its price it's more than what you pay for. You might consider a take out too. :)

They are all very friendly and easily approachable. They would not make you feel inferior. The place is really good, and the interiors are really made to make you feel comfy and snuggly. It's also a good place to get some focus. Food and beverages are just even as great. My favorite tho is how they made use of their space. Spot on.
Absolutely loved the concept, the food and the coffees and how they source practically everything locally. The Adobo Salted Egg Relish and Affogato are super good. Mabuhay kayo!

Great people and great coffee. Commune used to be my go-to spot whenever I'm in Salcedo Village. It's a calm sanctuary in the middle of the urban streets of Makati. Being in Commune gives me a warm sense of belongingness because of their courteous staff and of course, the amazing coffee. That's why I was deeply saddened when it suddenly disappeared from the corner of Valero. Little did I know that they just transferred! Indeed, Commune has become a breath of fresh air in its new location - Poblacion. Different location, same great people and coffee. Thumbs up!

we love commune!!! we always hang out here to drink, smoke, chill, eat, and chat! we specifically love their adobo, afogatto, spam fries, tusok tusok...i am yet to try other stuff in the menu (i always order adobo coz it's my favorite dish). great place to work too...if you are a smoker, you would love it here because you can drink you coffee (or beer) and smoke at their balcony upstairs at the same time.
It's a really relaxing place, even I don't drink coffee. But they also have great other drinks and there pastries and cakes are really good. It is always quiet clean and they have a good AC, so sometimes I really stay there very long. Also the people working their are always nice and friendly, so I will come back soon again.
I love going here to meet up and chill with my friends. The ambiance and coffee is perfect and I have a lot of good memories here 💛 I definitely recommend this place as it is one of the best cafes I’ve ever been to.
I'm not that much of a pasta fan, so when I order pasta, I usually don't get to finish it because I get tired of its taste quite quickly. But Commune's Pesto Cream with Grilled Chicken was the perfect balance of creamy and nutty, I didn't even notice I already finished their generous serving! They weren't greedy with the herb chicken either. I definitely recommend this!
Commune's coffee is also good, but what I liked most about their coffee is the fact that all their blends are available as decaf. (Something that's not very common in coffee shops that aren't Starbucks) They'll charge you a minimal additional fee for it, but hey, at least it's an option.

I know they are known for good coffee but their dessert menu is also good. We got the chocolate lava cake and new york cheesecake. You would know that they use good quality ingredients. The cheesecake is not too sweet and soft. The lava cake is rich and decadent.
We booked our business event here. I love their cheese pimiento, tuna sandwich and the rest of the pica pica food. Didn't get to take much photos coz I was busy. Pero ayun nga, love the food and location huhu.
Edit: I got to taste their rice meals! That kimchi fried rice is so good! Boyfie also enjoyed his meal. Yay!

The creamy pesto pasta is to die for and paired with fresh lemonade, absolute heaven. The ambiance here is relaxing, so if you're looking for a place to review quietly, this is the place. Their wifi is Smart operated so you'd get an hour of wifi and an additional 30 mins if your wifi has expired. All in all, a great experience.

This is a hip place to chill with friends or work alone. Entrees were not special for me. But their coffee is one of the best. As with most Poblacion restos, parking will be your worst enemy. Overall worth the hassle for the coffee.

Commune has been bookmarked on my list for some time. It was only until earlier that I decided to give it a go. I met the owner yesterday at a mutual friend's birthday party, and I saw how proud she was about her shop.
I rarely drink coffee and got myself a big cup of hot chocolate. I asked for the to do some 3D art on it like it's usually done on cappuccinos, and they gladly did my bear as I am BeaBear to some. I also ordered myself a Smoked Salmon Sandwich--I am a sucker for smoked salmon. After which, I did have a tad bit more space for dessert and got a Calamansi Muffin.
Hot Chocolate - Rich, creamy and not too thick. At first, I didn't want to destroy my bear but it had to happen. Drinking from the top of its head made it transform into a bunny 🐻😂🐰.
Smoked Salmon Sandwich - For P395, I assumed that they would skimp on the salmon filling, but I was wrong. There was a generous amount of salmon with some thin slices of cucumber. A side salad was accompanied with it with some balsamic dressing. There were some candied nuts tossed in. Usually, some places just make the usual lettuce and tomato with mayo on the side. Not here. The side salad very much thought into it as well with great quality ingredients just like the sandwich. Overall, I enjoyed the whole dish very much.
Calamansi Muffin - A delicious alternative to the usual lemonade cupcake. Moist, sweet and tart. Loved it!
Food: 5.0 -Not the standard cafe food where food mostly comes secondary and small. Servings were generous. All excellent!
Price: 5.0 - Doable prices for excellent food, drinks, and service.
Service: 5.0 - Staff is all nice and knowledgable. When it came to doing the 3D art, the barista was very focused.
Amvience 5.0 - Commune is a one of a kind coffee shop. You can see that permanent designs are minimalist, but there are a lot of things posted and laid around that make it unique from posters of a few events, and works of some local artists. A great place to work and chillax in the middle of bustling Makati.
So glad that Commune is a walk away from work. Will be back soon. I think I found my cafe spot in the city 😊👍🏻.
We ordered iced mocha, 3D cappuccino art latte and nachos. Their 3D cappuccino art latte is too cute, too cute to drink it. Also tried their nachos for only 140 good for two people. Service is good, baristas are approachable and even explain their menus.

Personally I love the spot. Price range is still affordable but maybe a bit higher that your usual coffee shop. Have to say that the Pesto pasta is def my fave. It tends to get crowded on some days but if you're lucky you'll get the balcony all to yourself.

Commune is an aesthetic, chill, work-friendly coffee shop located in Poblacion. It’s the perfect place for workaholics, cat lovers, or people who just want to drink quality coffee. Unlike many cafes, Commune’s food (and not just its pastries) is excellent, especially when paired with coffee!
Definitely my boyfriend and I’s favorite cafe as of the moment. They have everything from commendable third wave coffee to delicious food and fast internet. We come here almost everyday. Love their Iced Mocha, Sea Salt Choco Chip Cookie, Salted Egg Pasta, and Kimchi Fried Rice so much! Also, it’s a very cozy place plus they have cute cattos. I love studying and chilling in here.

I love that this cafe makes up for the busy and loud streets surrounding it. Surprisingly relaxing to stay in even for late night coffee, and they close later than other coffee shops. Cute latte art. They also have a good selection of drinks and food, although at times all seats are occupied, which also proves that it's a good place to chill.
I was supposed to dine here before but there was an ongoing construction that time and their opening time was pushed back to 10 am. I was so hungry and I couldn’t wait for an another hour so I decided to leave and look for another place.
Three weeks after I came back on a Sunday morning. I ordered spaghetti, spam fries and cappuccino. The food was great, i really like the spaghetti and the coffee was also good.

I don’t usually go to the neighborhood of Poblacion so when I had the opportunity to meet some people in that area, I was happy that it was set in this cafe for I’ve only heard good things about it. Its interiors are welcoming and the staff friendly, with none of the pretentiousness some coffee baristas try to exude.
I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich which the server recommended as one of the best sellers. And it has good reason to be! I certainly wouldn’t be able to enumerate all 4 of the cheeses in it, but they all blended together wonderfully for the ultimate cheese ooziness experience. The toasted brioche bread was also the perfect vehicle, its crisp crust providing the texture contrast against the gooey cheese. I’m particularly thankful for the tartness of the tomato compote and crudités served with it which counterbalanced the richness of the sandwich, thereby eliminating that “umay” factor.
Because I went at night, I didn’t order coffee because I wouldn’t be able to sleep so I wasn’t able to taste their brew, which I understand they’re known for. However, my companion who isn’t normally a coffee drinker, loved the cafe mocha she ordered.
Overall, a great experience and I look forward to visiting again to try their coffee and other products.
I really like the ambiance of Commune. I like their coffee, salad, chicken adobo and pesto. For those who want to visit this place on a Friday night, make sure to park your car somewhere near Makati Ave. and just walk. The traffic will kill you here.

I ordered nachos and cafe mocha. Nachos is such a let down, it tastes so cheap for my taste but the cafe mocha is so so good. I’d just want to say that if you’re under budget, this won’t be the right café for you. 😹
They got limited wifi, and you need to pay P20 for a stable one for 2 hrs, I actually don’t mind it at all. As for ambiance, I think the aircon is not working or on very low setting when I went there.
Final say? I would still go back here, because of their stable wifi and service, but maybe next time I’ll try the other food in their menu. 😹
We ordered the Ice Toddy with almond milk, Cappuccino and Oreo Cheesecake. The cappuccino is so cute with 3D bear art. The coffee tastes good. I love it because they have almond milk choices. It’s so hard to find coffee shop who has almond milk option for their coffee. The oreo cheesecake is laking of cheese taste however the cake is not too sweet and lightweight. Definitely come back next time.
I appreciate the baristas because they will assist you from the moment you stepped inside. They’re very accommodating. The place is perfect for working & studying since power outlets are available (one thing I always look for in coffee shops). If you always go unaccompanied like me, Commune is solo friendly.

how to go inside said shop was already a challenge, haha, we didn’t know how to go about opening the door or saying some magic phrase, embarrassing until we figured it out and to just PUSH!
you’ll then be greeted by the enticing aroma or coffee and baked treats being paraded proudly in their centre isle and then it’ll hit you- you’ll want ALL of them! it is quite pricey, so choose wisely or if you wanna splurge then go ahead and stuff yourself. the best sellers are the apple pie and cheesecake and both tasted as if you were home eating in your safe place that was prepared by granma on a lazy weekend, twas that good and heavenly!
apart from their baked treats, you can also buy their coffee mugs and what nots and they seem to have invested on their memes too. the place is a lil small so seating may cause an issue, but because it does say commune, their goal was for singles or doubles to mingle w/ other people in the café, good for people who want that interaction.
I like how the cafe's location is very accessible from the CBD. It's a good walking distance from the Ayala triangle park. It's also near the Century Mall and the red district. The place is not noisy so you can really spend a good quality time here. I also like how the cafe is pet friendly. I've seen two cats inside and they would let you pet them.
i love everything about commune. i was searching for some coffee shop around Makati where me and my friends can review and dine at the same time, and i came accross this place. we were there for like 7-8 hrs!!!! hahaha! for the wifi, you can have it for like 20php for 2 hrs. not bad but i did not avail since i still have data that time. staffs were friendly too!!! i personally loved the cappuccino 3D art. i never wanted to consume that actually because of its cuteness! 🐶 Also, i had their chicken adobo with fried egg for lunch which costs me ₱250, i think (basta 200+)...Uhm for me it was a bit pricey but as we go along it did not matter na. 😊 The comfort rooms were clean, therefore maintained, so thumbs up!

Definitely one of the best cafés in the Metro! The place is good for studying/working or just relaxin’. They got good selection of coffees from strong ones to sweet ones. What I most like about Commune is their 3D latte art, so cute! Tried Affogato as well. Loved the scoop of vanilla from Carmen’s best partnered with rich-tasting espresso served in a mug. A perfect caffeinated-dessert, indeed.
I am not fond of drinking hot coffee but I made an exception because Commune is famous for their cute latte arts. I was so happy of my hot cappucino with bear latte art that I was hesitamt of drinking my coffee. Inalso loved the ambience of this place, kinda encourages me to be productive while sipping my coffee.
Always a joy hanging in here especially when most of my friends hang here as well. Great place for a meal as well! One can hang and work here all day.

Finally, had a chance to experience a coffee shop I would always see at a glance while passing thru the Poblacion area. Sadly, it was not what I would have expected.
I ordered the "18 hour cold brew with milk", which was recommended by the friendly staff when I said I wanted something cold. Lacked that punch I love in cold brews.
The staff are friendly, and provide great service! Always offering water.
The ambience is awesome, great natural lighting that enters the cafe, a huge long table and other smaller seating areas that fill the cafe, and was even able to read one of the "coffee" table books lying around. And the eclectic music they are playing balances off the industrial minimalist vibe of the cafe.
For me a downside is the limited internet, which for students is a must.
Overall, I would still come back to try one more cup of coffee to see if anything else changes. Any suggestions?
It was an overall good experience. Now I get why my friend raves this place! It's a typical café but there's so much more into it. The staff were nice, they offer (paid) wifi, it's just a really nice place. The coffee they offer is so much more like WXXXXX's but they have this more relaxed vibe. Uhhhh slowly loving Commune!

the large sized coffe is really big. ill give them that. but it was kinda on the sweet side for my liking. the apple pie wasnt that special. the reese's cake though. it was yummmmm. my friend ordered the pandesal sandwich and the pandesal was stone hard and small. paninderya style pandesal. ahahhaa
I was looking for a place to hold a last-minute event and thankfully, Commune came to the rescue! We booked their second floor complete with screen, projector, and sound system setup. Chill ambiance with a space that can fit probably around 50 people or more. Customer service was beyond expectations. I loved their longganisa panini with onion jam and mozzarella cheese. It's a nice place to have lunch. To have a coffee latte or a ice tea. I really like the smoking terrace on the top. It's a little bit to expensive.
Scouting for a place to spend a couple hours in and get a coffee fix? Commune in Poblacion is the place to be. This has been one of my go-to coffee shops to wait for a friend in or to simply comfy it up with a good book and a hot coffee. (Insider tip: they make the most adorable animal foam designs that is only available when you order a cappuccino!)
Cozy and peaceful. I love the ambience. I've had a great alone time with a lovely cup of cappuccino. Also, I'm happy because I was able to opt to low-fat milk.

A nice place to chill and hang out on weekends and Thursday nights for improv shows. They serve flavorful pandesal with spam, adobo flakes, or cream cheese which I like a lot. Their chicken and pork adobo rice toppings is delicious too!
They probably have the most talented latte artists as I havent been to any cafe that could rival their latte art! So so so cute and too pretty to drink! Altho their food items can be a tad too expensive, I love their grilled cheese sandwich and the pickled sides 👍

For a quick caffeine fix or a much-needed escape from work at the middle of the day, this cafe is always on the top of my head. The cozy ambience of the cafe is suitable for working or relaxation. Their cold brew is strong enough to keep me up for hours!

A corner curved white edifice along the hustle and bustle of Poblacion in Makati sits this gem of a coffee place..
I love the interiors..curved spaces and communal tables (hence Commune?) interesting and sinful pastries and in house brews (aaand their in house pet cat which my friend adores) easily makes this spot standout among the other generic coffee places we have grown accustomed to.
I had the Iced Toddy (a tall cold creamy latte-ish concoction) with syrup on the side, paired with (i was ever curious and found one here) Sticky Toffee Pudding..(awfully too sweet but downrich rich and sinful!--suggest to pair with sugarless black) and a friend had the Iced Latte and Apple Pie which was also good.
Highly recommended for catching up with friends or work or study..I would love to be back here😉
A very serene place with one of the best (and many local varieties btw). The cafe itself is very easy to miss, it is just right in front of Wang Mart. The coffee selection is good especially if you are a fan of strong coffee. There are a lot of interesting pastry selections for you as well. The staff are very nice and approachable, everyone here is patient and you can usually see people sitting on tables on their laptops working or studying since the place has a very homey and productive feel to it.
Commune has a very modern look to its interiors. The place can be a great workplace as they provide wifi and there are sockets. I ordered the 18 hour cold brew with milk and it was ok. They provide syrup if you wanna adjust the sweetness and I recommend only putting half. My friend had the hot milk and he really liked it. The place has very poor air conditioning but you'll get used to it. The drinks are great. Check it out.
They have the cutest cup of coffee in the metro and a cup that cute is heartbreaking to drink. Once you do, the latte was really good! We also ordered a cookie which went very well with the latte. Ambience is also nice, the interior, very well designed.
This is one of my favorite coffee shops near office. The place is cool and clean. Ambiance is cozy and staffs are very friendly and accomodating. I so love their Panda 3D latte art on top of my Cappucino that I don’t want to ruin them. Hahaha. Another thing that I love here is their Apple Pie. I am not a fan of Apple Pies but after I tasted it, feels like I want to have more. Price is reasonable because you get what you paid for. This is definitely a must-try!
Definitely one of those 'hip cafe' types, with a super plain door (no handles, no markings) that opens up into this lively but chill place. Books and reading materials abound, stacked on tables, menu specials and calendar of events is written in chalk on the walls. Long tables are set for sharing (the place is called Commune, after all), and there is an open bar in the center so you can see exactly how your drinks are prepared.
Pastries are huge, plentiful, and not too sweet (like the gigantic choco chip cookie with sea salt that had choco medallions instead of chips on top).
Try their crostinis with different toppings like tuna, hummus and cheese pimiento - good for starters/ a snack.
Their iced Americano was balanced in flavor and a smooth brew. We also had tanglad iced tea (you can also have it hot), it had a natural sweetness and fresh taste (tea bag label said Tsaa Laya).
The place also has a section for private dining, and an upstairs space for small events and gatherings.

Like the ones shown above, we’ve tried their Cookie Shot with Milk and Malted Milk Ice Cream. They’ve tied up with Carmen’s Best to supply their ice cream so no doubt, we just had the best ice cream experience. One of us love Maltesers to death! And having it in an ice cream is a dream come true. Their cookie shot is good too, the milk is just enough to finish the entire cookie. Thumbs up to this concept! Hope the milk is unlimited though haha!
Value for money: Cookie Shot is a bit expensive, maybe worth it if with unlimited refill (or few refills) of milk. Ice cream is soooo worth it! (For Maltesers lovers)

They have my favorite espresso in the whole Poblacion area.
The place looks hip and it is conducive for a quick but chill coffee break in the city. The establishment has two floors; kinda hot upstairs. Coffee is fine, but their cakes and pastries are just too expensive.
The place looks bright and cozy. It has an unnoticeable door so you need to be more observant. You may opt to sit near the glass windows for brighter view or just the classic high seats for a bar-like setting.

Visited the place after having breakfast at the weekend market with friends. It was my first time to visit Commune so I just ordered a Cappuccino.
The bear was so cute I almost did not want to drink it. Lol. Although the presentation was definitely a winner, the taste was just OK. ☕️ I would probably return to try out their food.
Ambience: very cozy, it's such a pity that the place can only accommodate a few crowd. We went there on a Saturday and ended up waiting for a sit to be available.
Food: My friend ordered Boneless bangus (It's very delicious) and since I'm a pescatarian I ordered hummus (with crudité and croutons). The hummus is a bit salty for my liking though.

Hot Chocolate had beautiful latte art but wasn't that hot, probably because of the delicious, milky foam. The feel of the drinking mug was intriguing for its sandpaper texture, a first for me.

We tried the beef tapa and chicken tocino. A little pricey for the serving but that's okay because the food was really good. I had to order extra rice because I was really enjoying the food. 👍🏼
I needed a place to kill some time so I dropped by Commune. I didn't want a strong coffee so I went with their Mocha. It was good for me because it wasn't very sweet.
As for the ambiance of the place, it's a good place to just chill and unwind because of the relaxed vibe. It's clean and bright so it's good to have a book on hand and read while having your coffee. They also have some on the table by the glass window. In my case, I spent the morning making cat coasters.
There was a cat that came out and jumped on the table! It just looked out the window and watched the people passing by. Eventually, one of the baristas came and took it to the back of the shop.
Love the concept of this place,industrial chic design interior.
The vibe is very relaxing tho its people friendly you can still feel the relaxing atmosphere, the element I'm always looking for a coffee shop.
They specializes in 3D art latte tho its just a bonus for me, what I'm after is the robustness of the blend.Tried an artsy latte,taste wise its good but next time will try the stronger varieties.
The cakes and pastries here are very good I'm not a cake and pastry enthusiast but here I can say its a thumbs up,loved that calamansi muffin.
The grilled sandwich here is a bomb,so comforting ,love the tangy tomato dip that comes with it.
They also have a second floor for meetings,gatherings, workshops etc.It has this kind of old grandma's living room vibe.

The rise of interest in coffee has reached its highest point today. People's preference and fascination to coffee has continued to upgrade year after year. Thanks to spots like Commune, a third wave coffee stop offering specialized beans and other processes of serving our favorite warm beverage.
Have you heard of the form aeropress or v60? Come and experience the difference of these two from aroma, texture and overall taste.
It was my first time here last week. Thanks to BigDish, I got to do more than sip, I also had a feast of their unique offerings. Commune serves primarily pasta, salads, paninis and rice toppings, on top of coffee and its partner sweets.
For savory dishes my foodie friends and I got to down their Pork Longanissa filled pasta. It also had fresh mushroom, tomatoes in bavette pasta, a narrower version of tagliatelle. I found this a decent grub, could be better with more complex spices maybe.
A classic Grilled Cheese containing 4 types and buttery brioche was something we shared next. This one is comfort food personified, more so if you have love dairy. I suggest having the staff serving it a bit more toasted for a nice crunchy bite.
For my coffee I got bold and dark single blend, 100% arabica via v60, a pour over method. I got some coco sugar to extract more sweetness from its beans. I was able to pair this with Cookie Dough with Reese Peanut Butter Cups cake, a super rich piece of sweet and delicious dessert.
It's time to commune, to get together and love food together. Experience it here, have a chill. This is located at the heart of Poblacion, Makati.

While waiting for my appointment, I decided to have some coffee here in Commune. I always see this cafe around the area but I've never tried it. The door confuses me when I went there. It's like closed for a private event but it's not. It's really difficult to open it. When I came in, the place is full but there are still empty seats from the long table so I decided to sit there. I always wanna see their 3D latte arts but sadly the barista didn't do it on my coffee, maybe I should've asked for it. The cookie shot would be better if you opt with the ice cream In it. The service was okay, not the best place to actually chill coz it's always full whenever I pass by.
Expect minimalist interiors and very cute drinks! This one's a Cappuccino (the only one eligible for a 3D Latte Art). I've alao tried their cookie shots - too pricey for its serving though. What i love most about this resto is the ambiance. This one's so homey you can at it for hours without the guilt.
What fascinates me about this coffee shop is that it is a spacious place, good for people who prefer few people and more on the music and the design the of the place. It also allows customers to book private events or private dining. Overall, it's just like any regular coffee shop except that it serves food whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Very nice ambience and crew is very friendly. Coffee could be a bit better but overall a good place. I would recommend this for people who want to feel at-home in the middle of the city.
Great place to chill or have a meeting as they have quieter areas round the back and upstairs. Nice relaxed atmosphere that serves great coffee. Brownie with vanilla ice cream is the best.
Commune is a nice place to study and to have meetings. I find the place interesting since you can watch the barista while doing your coffee or the 3D Coffee Art.
Trusting that a favourite restaurant is still in its established spot is one comfort in this ever-changing city. This was why I was surprised and saddened when I learned that the Commune had moved from HV Dela Costa Street in Salcedo Village. Here was where I had passed a few fun afternoons with friends, bonding over writing and this cafe’s crostinis and coffee. Fortunately it was not long till I learned that the Commune was now located at Poblacion, right in a neighbourhood that was fast becoming a food tripper’s haven.

Americano was strong. Poblacion is one of th5eir salads with organic greens, tomatoes, red onions, tinapa and salted eggs with a mango vinaigrette dressing. Tasty salad with tinapa and salted egg adding flavor to the greens.
Ok this place got me at 3d coffee art that I had to go in. When I went in, I asked the barista if he could make a hello kitty 3d coffee art and he made it happen which made my day.
Their calamansi muffin is also delish. I would come back here for sure. Very chill and the staff is super nice.
The place's ambiance and coffee art are what makes this place a go to hang out place. Eventhiugh its far away from my place I would be happy to go here
This store is so cushy and highly recommended for those who's looking for a quiet place to work or study They have a good service. The menu and price is worthy and affordable. I'll definitely come back!
Visited this coffee shop for breakfast when they were still in Salcedo Village and i really loved it because it was the usual busy weekday in Salcedo and i was just there watching people rush to work.
I almost didn't want to drink the cappuccino because it was soooo cute! I didn't expect it to taste really good! This is exactly the taste I am looking for a coffee!
As for the cookie shot with Carmen's Best Dark Chocolate ice cream, i like it as well but I hope you'll change it to something a bit more bittersweet than CB's. And if you could also make the cookie shot chewier then that would be perfect.
I'll be sure to go back here and recommend it to my friends!!!

After having a sumptuous breakfast at Bean and Yolk, we decided to swing by Commune. I've heard about 'em, i didn't have the time and patience to visit as Polaris Street is foreign to me. Burgos x Poblacion is hard to navigate as the streets look the same and it's a mix of residential and commercial spaces.
Commune has gained popularity with their awesome 3D latte art. I saw a couple of reviews and photos showcasing their expertise. Personally speaking, i dont really pay attention to latte art as i am more concerned of the liquid hiding behind the foam.
Oh well, i might as well join the hype. I got a cappuccino, the staff asked for my preferred design. I blurted out, Pikachu! She gave a sly smile and politely said they will try. I said okay, if you cant do Pikachu then they can do something else.
| Cappuccino (php 120). It a bird, it's a plane...no it's a bear. Coffee is mediocre which i totally understand. Nobody is perfect (except for Benedict Cumberbatch).
| Nachos. Clarissa got this for everyone to share. Aesthetically speaking, it's not as pretty as the others I've seen. Commune makes up for the lacklustre appearance with the taste. The nachos they used us really flavorful, crispy with the right amount of saltiness.
| Butterscotch ala Mode (Butterscotch pastry topped with Carmen's Best Salted Caramel Ice Cream). Our resident sweet tooth got this because dessert is a requirement. I was the designated hand model for the action shot 😀. As for the taste, Jai said it is way too sweet. I was determined to skip this one as the "way too sweet" description from our Sweet Tooth Fairy scared me. I took a teeny tiny bite and i went into sugar shock! He said that they should've used a different ice cream brand in order to create a perfect balance of flavors. Both the pastry and ice cream is extremely good but when paired together the result is catastrophic.
Service is a bit slow, servers are too relaxed unlike with the other third wave coffee shops wherein they welcome customers with a warm and friendly smile. I guess they're too preoccupied with latte art 😀
I'd probably pay them another visit when i am near the area. Albeit the lack of interaction from the crew, i like the overall vibe of the place - very conducive to daydreaming.
Lovely find in Polaris. Pros - huge serving, approachable staff, good place to unwind. If you're going here for lunch, go with the Pork Adobo with Salted egg. Chicken Adobo sa Gata (coconut milk) was too salty, even with rice... Their Sinigang was salty as well. If you're looking for something sweet, try their brownie (LOVE THIS!) and cookie shot with Carmen's Best.
