This is probably the first restaurant that I would rate five stars, since my partner, who had not eaten authentic Filipino food for half a year, felt a homey ambiance in the restaurant together with the welcoming feel of eating the dishes that we ordered. Everything was worth its price and would definitely come back.
https://chickeneggdrop.food.blog/2020/01/23/fely-js-kitchen-a-taste-like-home/
Our ordered:
- Sinigang Bangus (5/5)
- Chicken Satay (4/5) a bit closer to malaysian satay
- Fried Calamaries (5/5)
They help us to serving the soup very well, all food we ordered is good!
Service is excellent
We will come again to try another dishes
Specifically loved the lamb caldereta and sikreto ni maria for dessert. Will go back for that. Went out with group of friends and their children. They have something to offer to all ages.
Best place to bring your foreigner friends to try out Filipino food.
Greenbelt 5 is the more posh section in the area and the restaurant fits right in. The interior is reminiscent of an old ancestral home that's beautifully preserved and maintained.
The food is delicious, specially their special dilis-cious rice. My only "complaint", for a lack of a better word, about it is that it's expensive but in this case you really get what you pay for. The food is really good and the service is top notch.
Good ambience to have local Filipino food, tastes are authentic from crispy pata, lechon kawali, sinigang na bangus, adobo and sisig. Surely the place to gain weight
Fely J’s is one of LJC’s newer restaurants. They serve Intercontinental dishes, while also having traditional Filipino.
Our favorite dishes here is Fely J’s temple crab and their braised short ribs. It’s similar to pares and perfect with the crab rice.
The Fely J’s temple crab is not to be missed. Deep fried crab topped with mounds of garlic on a bed of fried rice. Definitely the dish to come back for.
I've been eyeing Fely J's whenever I pass by Greenbelt because of their queue and volume of diners, and luckily, for it was the last stop to my first Zomato FC last July 2018 🚩 Fely J's serves Filipino-Asian cuisine and for goodness gracious, we were almost full.
For the appetizers, we had the Utan Illongo, and Thai Shrimps and Pomelo. The soup tasted like misua to me and the shrimp and pomelo salad was a bit bland (due to frozeness?).
For the mains, we had the Tilapia with Sweet Plum Sauce, Lengua Rendang, Braised Beef with Radish, Temple Crab, Binagoongang Baboy, and Sisig Fried Rice. My most favorite among them was their Braised Beef. I really like chinese spices that's why I liked their braised beef. The Lengua was also good, does not taste like the mainstream lengua. The Tilapia was nice and crispy, and the binagoongan is just the way I like it. Paired all of them with their sisig rice!
For the desserts, they have the Snowy Mango and Cassava Bibingka. The Snowy Mango is like a Filipino style bingsu. Like I said, I'm very picky with mangoes especially on desserts. But I really loved their cassava bibingka! I'm neutral when it comes to cassava (since my family always buy it as a pasalubong for their friends) and when I thought how will it go with bibingka, it tasted very custardy and delicious! (I almost want to take home one, haha)
The place very much looks like you're in a fancy Hacienda with the 'maharlikas'. The ambiance and the feel of the restaurant is very historically exquisite. The staffs are nice too. I even remembered when all of them (foodies) ordered coffee, and I'm the only one who chose a hot chocolate! The price of their foods are above the average Filipino priced foods, but I also considered the fact that it's in Greenbelt 5 and their target market.
Hoping to come back soon! [Last visited, July 2018]
Fely J's is a great place to bring your family and foreigner friends. They have a great selection of filipino classics like crispy pata, pancit guisado (dry noodles), whole fried fish and more. We added some sweet and sour shrimp (small serving but good enough for 2 people) and beef with broccoli. What a feast!

It’s my first time eating here through zomato’s help and it didn’t disappoint me from my cravings! Best restaurant to eat if you are craving for home cooked food
Dine: weekday, late lunch
First meal when we arrived in Manila. Over all food was great 👍. Highly recommend to family & friends. Sikreto ni Maria is love - suman with slices of sweet mangoes topped with velvety soft macapuno iced cream. Combination was perfect - well balanced. Suman was authentic- you can taste the sweetness of coconut milk. Ice cream was not too sweet . Mango was very good. Another Super love is the Gambas Tisoy. It’s an appetizer but so good over a spoonful of rice. It’s like spanish sardines in olive oil but using shrimps and topped with slivers of fried garlic. We placed a second order but unfortunately it was served. Tilapia in Plum Sauce was also delicious. It’s like escabeche but milder taste (less sourness and sweetness is just right). Rice with dilis on top (don’t know the name) didn’t work for me. Rice was kinda dry and hard. Crunch from the dilis in every spoonful of rice was kinda too much for me. Dry rice & dilis crunch was too much. Chicken mabuting inasal was ok. Not dry and was tasteful. Crabs was good. Lengua didn’t work for me as well.
Venue was nice. 👍 Service was ok.
Over all experience was good . Would like to go back for Sikreto ni Maria,Gambas Tisoy and Tilapia in Plum Sauce.
Superb restaurant! My first time to visit and eat here. Bit of special since we were with the company’s CEO. The service is fast, didnt take long to have our food served. Quality of food and presentation is beyond expectation. I highly recommend this restaurant especially if you’re with non-pinoy friends/colleagues 😊
This is my favorite Philippine restaurant, the Sinigang soup is superb good and the rice with fried fish also masalab. The environment is good and staff are friendly

As a tribute to Larry J. Cruz, the LJC Restaurant Group marks September, his birth month, as LJC Month. The celebration features the LJC Festival of Flavors, the annual LJC Good to Dine Campaign, and Larry’s Treat.
Pork Estufada Bisaya. Stewed pork ribs with sweet potato carrots, saba bananas, and Chinese sausage.
Sotenghon sa Sugpo. Cellophane noodles with prawns and shitake mushrooms.
The LJC Festival of Flavors is a tribute to LJC’s passion for good food. The festival features the new creations of LJC Chefs, keeping in mind how Larry would have appreciated these dishes according to the LJC brands they were created for. Pork Estufada Bisaya. Stewed pork ribs with sweet potato carrots, saba bananas, and Chinese sausage.
Our team had a lunch out here. The area for big groups is separated and enclosed in such a way we can talk privately and it prevents other customers to be disturbed as well. I was not able to take a single photo but the ambience is really good. It has a classic Filipino touch (there are classical paintings displayed too). The quality of food and service is really good given there is a wide variety of choices (the aligue rice is worth a try).
What I can conclude is that when you visit this place, it will bring you back to the heart of Filipino cuisine.
Fely J's specializes in Filipino cuisine with an Asian twist.
My favorites are..
Lengua Rendang - Ox tongue with the Indonesian flavors and spices. Get ready to eat a lot of rice!
Tilapia with sweet plum sauce - crispy fried tilapia goes well with this Chinese sauce.
Thai Pomelo and Shrimp Salad - refreshing appetizer.
Braised Beef with Radish - fork-tender beef in a claypot.
Snowy Mango with Vanilla Ice Cream - a fruity dessert to cap a meal.
Fely J's Kitchen is a great place to go to when you're looking for homey, hearty and wholesome Filipino dishes with its own creative twist. There are lots of options to choose from and the serving portion is good for sharing! Check the blog for more details.
Let me preface this review by expressing my gratitude to the LJC Group, and Zomato for an exclusive invite to feast on some of the dishes (17 dishes in total! 😀) from all of LJC's nine food concepts, some of which are yet to be fully offered on their respective restaurant menus starting this September. ♥️ As for Fely J's, we got to try their Sotanghon sa Sugpo, and their Pork Estofada Bisaya. This pair was another memorable serving for me, of all the dishes we tried, for I am a big fan of "palabok", and this dish pretty much is within the same recipe book making use of sotanghon, and "sugpo"! The shrimp was massive! It could even be a side-dish to the noodles itself! It was a very nice dish. The Pork Estofada on the other hand, was another pleasant surprise. I don't get to eat estofado on the regular, and having to try it this good, sinoly made it my new favorite. It was both sweet, and savory, and just like most of the dish that the LJC team fed us, this dish begged the most, for a serving a steaming cup of plain rice.
it is true their lengua rendang was really good. my wife ordered knock out kare kare and true to its name it was really a knock out. for starter we ordered calamari and shrimp gambas which gave me an idea that i would enjoy my dinner. i highly recommend you try this resto. will definitely be back to try their braised beef .
With all the buzz and good feedback from other people, finally, we were able to binged with Fely J’s Kitchen. This is restaurant devoted to the mother of Larry Cruz. Without a doubt this restaurant is very popular.
To begin with, they served Thai Pomelo and Shrimp Salad – not my type though the servings were good enough.
I skipped Lengua Rendang due to high cholesterol (LOL) though it was highly recommended. According to my friends, it was flavorful, you will taste the coconut-based sauce and perfect with white rice. Okay, will try it next time.
Braised Beef with Radish – I love how they cooked the meet. The beef was soft and the sauce is perfect with garlic rice.
Temple Crab – who can’t resist with this giant crab. Perfectly cooked with garlic. More rice please ☺
For the dessert – A must try is the Snowy Mango topped with Vanilla Iced Cream.
Overall, I had an excellent dining experience here. We are looking forward to visit this restaurant again.
The food was so good I was not even able to take artful photos of them. My favorites were the sisig and the salad. I also loved the Sikreto ni Maria Clara that was recommended to me by the servers. I am also thankful that because we were a large group, we were given free use of their function room.
@maniladiningdiary
We visit Manila yearly and we always make at least 1 - 2 stops at fely j’s . Good menu with a variety of traditional Filipino food. We specifically order the sinigang and it’s super delish. Can’t fail fely j’s , it’s the only place where it’s remotely comparable to a home cooked meal in mum’s kitchen. Service is standard and what you expect in Manila . The food comes out at a good pace .
“Everything must be fresh, natural and attractive.” that’s how Felicidad de Jesus-Cruz wanted her cooking to be remembered. It’s all about being able to serve the best food not only for her family but for everyone. She spent her later years hovering around the kitchen with a critical eye and appreciative palate. Fely J’s a tribute to the mother of Larry J. Cruz.
How was your family’s cooking when you were growing up? Mine was spectacular, even though home-cooked dishes were not as spectacular but they were always tasty, satisfying and always done with so much heart. The women on my father’s side were all great cooks, especially my grandma. This trait she was able to pass to my mother and all of my siblings. I’m an OK cook though, but I can make one the meanest Sinigangs you've ever tasted, no joke! Hahahaha!
The third and the last leg of our food crawl.
Around 3pm. At this point, everybody was genuinely full and I would say, everybody was still on a fighting mood. Why? Because, Fely J's Kitchen is next in line. Fely J's is popular. That much was evident. The place was packed considering our group came at a time when people was more inclined to have a burger, french fries and soda. I guess that how diners with good taste regard the brand.
So, we begin to talk about Fely J's.
I always have this Thai Shrimps and Pomelo (exotic blend of pomelo and shrimps with peanuts and mint) everytime. It's light, just right to whet your appetite.
Who would not like the Tilapia with Sweet Plum Sauce? The fish, swimming in a sea of thick, sweet and tart (and dark) sauce was perfect with the Sisig Fried Rice (garlic fried rice with savory sisig). Another favorite, Indonesian style-Lengua Rendang (fork-tender ox tongue simmered in spiced coconut cream sauce) was stole the show (in my book, that is). The lengua flavor combined with the gata and the (I guess, secret?) spices so well that I plan to bring my mom and let her try the dish. She will love it, I'm sure.
Between the two dessert preparations, the Snow Mango (sliced ripe mango on shaved ice with mango ice cream) and the Cassava Bibingka (homemade tapioca with young coconut), the former easily stood out.
LJC x Zomato Weekend Foodcrawl's last stop is at Fely J's. Fely J’s Kitchen is a restaurant dedicated to the memory of Felicidad de Jesus-Cruz, mother of the late restaurateur Larry J. Cruz, features Fely J’s treasured recipes which she picked up in her travels. The restaurant offers a variety of Filipino and Asian dishes served Fely J’s style.
The place is big. There are even private rooms available. It was a peak hour when we got there so it was crowded that time. As for the service, they are welcoming. It was ensured that every request was given attention.
In this restaurant, we got to try the following:
Soup:
Utan Ilonggo - can be enjoyed if it is hot. It tasted plain for me.
Salads:
Thai Shrimps and Pomelo (P270.00) - the shrimp had fresh taste. The pomelo was fresh. As a whole, it was refreshing.
Main Courses:
Tilapia with Sweet Plum Sauce (P399.00) - I don't usually eat dishes with fish though the sweet plum sauce is a good complement and it made me enjoy the fish. It was sticky. It has the right sweetness for a seafood.
Lengua Rendang (P399.00) - ox tongue simmered in spiced coconut cream sauce. it's an Indonesian dish,. It was made saucy and dark. It seems foreign to my tongue though the taste didn't diassppoint. It reminds me of Binagoongan (in general), but it was more savory and less salty.
Braised Beef with Radish (P695.00) - the meat was tender, it was slow-cooked. The sauce is thick and dark and it was absorbed by the beef. The taste is flavorful. It's a dish that Filipinos will love. This is one of my favorites.
Fely J's Temple Crab (P190.00/100g) - It was delicious, and it's a bit spicy. Some parts were hard to get. It was complemented by garlic rice. I like the taste of the garlic rice.
Binagoongang Baboy (P325.00) - the pork is tender. As a whole, this dish is not too salty, a bit oily though. This one is okay for me.
Rice:
Sisig Fried Rice (P275.00) - The taste is good but it isn't too strong and isn't that spicy. Enough to support the dishes/mains we have. It just maintained its lev It's just that it is affordable
Desserts:
Snowy Mango (P195.00) - for me, it's like the typical ripe mangoes on shaved ice with milk, and topped with mango ice cream. It's good to eat at afternoon, or if the weather is hot.
Cassava Bibingka (P120.00) - I like how mild its sweetness is. It's a good one though I was unable to consume it (as well as the snowy mango) because I'm full already. Its form is still firm but it was soft.
As a whole, some of the dishes were reasonably priced (based on the quantity and taste) and some were not outstanding. It's definitely a good restaurant to enjoy with your family.
Thank you LJC Group of Restaurants, Fely J's Kitchen, and ZomatoPH for having us.

July 21, 2018
July 21, 2018 LJC Food Crawl FMU - We had Utan Ilonggo for soup, Thai Shrimp & Pomelo for salad, Sisig Fried Rice, Tilapia with Sweet Plum Sauce, Lengua Rendang, Braised Beef, Temple Crab, Binagoongang Baboy for mains, Snowy Mango & Cassava Bibingka for dessert.
Quantity : Most can be good for 1 to 2 persons. The rice can be good for 3.
Quality & Taste : I like the light & subtle flavors of the soup. Just the thing to whet your appetite. The Thai Shrimp & Pomelo was good. The shrimps seemed fresh & the pomelo was sweet. The Tilapia had no unpleasant aftertaste & the plum sauce was not too sweet. The lengua was soft & tender but the rendang way of cooking may be an acquired taste. I liked the braised beef, tender & tasty like the crab. The beef & crab are my top two favorites. The Binagoongang Baboy had just the right level of saltiness. The Sisig fried rice was flavorful just the right level to complement the mains. I liked the Cassava bibingka, not too sweet. The Snowy mango could have been perfect if the mango bits were of better quality. It seemed to be not the harvested at the right time & naturally ripened variety.
Price & Overall : Price is a bit on the high side but if you like Filipino food, this is one of the better places to go. Overall rating is above average and recommended for Filipino food.

Restaurant number 3 of the food crawl.
FelyJ's was a restaurant built as a homage to Larry J. Cruz mother,Felicidad de Jesus-Cruz.Because of her love of food and a great homecook ,most of the dishes here are Filipino merged with Asian style of cooking. Those influences were picked up during her travels.
Service was friendy, the Greenbelt branch had this relaxing feel maybe because of the soft lighting.
The list of the dishes served:
SOUP
*Utan Ilonggo
SALADS
*Thai Shrimps and pomelo
MAIN COURSES
*Tilapia with Sweet Plum sauce
*Lengua Rendang
*Fely J's Temple Crab
*Binagoongan Baboy
RICE
*Sisig Fried Rice
DESSERTS
*Snowy Mango
*Cassava Bibingka
Favorites were;
1.Utan Ilonggo -version of laswa , okra, pumpkin cubes, pumpkin leaves, moringga and seafood in a light refreshing broth.Comforting especially for the gloomy cold weather.
2.Thai Shrimps pomelo salad- a melodious replication of the classic Thai dish. The textures of the pomelo and peanuts constitute complex, while the taste of the steamed shrimps, pomelo juice and mint provided that refreshing signature Asian soul.
3.Braised beef with Radish a classic dish though there's a myriad of adaptation around Asia,no one should never go wrong with item .Meat was tender the radish was well cooked ,an element that a true braised beef should be.
4.Fely Js Temple Crab- the key here is the freshness and quality of the crab ,if they fail in that area thats a big no.But in this dish they delivered,as I have always stated and as I always cook crabs at home "ang alimango ay alimango pa rin basta nagkakatalo sa pagiging sariwa nito'.Great dish with the inclusion of garlic rice.
5.Lengua Rendang-as we Filipinos have been familiar with the lengua its usually Spanish influenced dish with tomato sauce, this is a creative twist on this popular Southeast Asian dish, but substituting chunks of beef into ox tongue.Brilliant rendang sauce ,original taste.
Flavorful yet not over the top Filipino fusion cuisine, you can still taste each country's identity in every dish.Thumbs up!

Felicidad de Jesus is the eponym of the popular and well - loved Fely J’s Kitchen.
Who is Felicidad de Jesus?
She is the mother of Larry J. Cruz of the LJC Restaurant Group fame and is also the wife of Abe of Abe restaurant.
If Lorenzo’s Way serves food that were favorites of Larry J Cruz, Fely J’s Kitchen literally means that exactly. All food from this restaurant were cooked at one tine or another by Fely J in her kitchen
Last Saturday, we were served an 8 course neal:
Utan Ilonggo
Thai Pomelo and Shrimp Salad P270
Tilapia with Sweet Plum Sauce P399
Lengua Rendang P399
Braised Beef with Radish P695
Temple Crab P190/100 grams
Binagoongan P325
Sisig fried rice P275
Snowy Mango P195
Cassava Bibingka P120
Comfort food at its best. My favorites were the Lengua Rendang, Braised Beef and Temple crab. Loved their cassava Bibingka too. So addicting!
Delicious food,
value for money,
cheerful service,
great location.
No wonder this l place is always full.
Definitely returning with the piggery in tow
Perhaps unkown to folks who havent had the chance to dine at Fely J's, its not your typical LJC restaurant that serves a variation of Colonial Spanish Cuisine. Infact it celebrates the culinary diversity and richness of Asian cuisine. From Indonesian Rendang to Chinese Braised Beef, you'll find this place intriguing if Asian food is right up your Alley.
My must order list would include
1.) Lengua Rendang - Knowing how much calories a serving of rendang packs, I ate this dish blindfolded with a pack of anti cholesterol medication in one hand. This is as sinfully good as a dish could be. You have the melt in your mouth goodness of the lengua simmeres in the rich coconut based sauce of rendang (this is a double down agaist your HMO). I am trying to find another dish that my cardiologist would have a stronger opinion against.
2.) Braised Beef with Radish - If in doubt, he safe choice is to go with a classic and a classic for Pinoys would be anything that has 4 legs and simmered in a thick dark sauce. The braised beef with Radish pays homage to the classic that is beef pares and you cant go wrong with that.
3.) Temple Crab - Ah, and then you have crab, who doesnt like crab? Slighlty salted, garnished with Garlic and placed on top of a heap of garlic rice this Asian classic will surely satisfy your seafood craving.
Whats surprising about Fely J's is how affordable its dishes are despite the upscale image that its being portrayed. You can take a look at the menu and youd find it hard to believe that you are not looking at Gerry's grill listing (nothing against Gerry's grill, You just get value for money here).
The experience hits me in the heart. It was so Filipino that every dish reminds me of home. The staffs were attentive. Deliciously prepared Filipino food, the whole vibe of the interior and the music playing completes the whole Filipino dining experience.
#Shallireturn to Fely J's?
The foods we have ordered are all delicious. The menus are unique. The staffs are efficient. The ambiance is very good. The price is right. The 10 minute waiting is excellent.
Authentic Filipino Food. Tilapia was cook nicely and tasty as well as Crispy pata and a must try is their seafood karekare and gising gising. Then top it off with a cold Sago't Gulaman. Ambience is good and everyone is accomodating. Price is what you eould expect :p. Just the way how mama cooks it.
3 Reviews to wrap up my most recent (and last of) 2017 so here goes 1st of Three...
We were here for a group holiday get-together. Picked FelyJ's among the bunch of restos on Greenbelt since its one of those "good-for-groups" and "festive filipino" restos I have been eyeing. Its been here for quite awhile and being part of the LJC is quite a reputable group..
I secured reservations a couple of days prior so seating wasnt a problem on the day. It had been a busy day indeed, with a throng of people waiting that evening.
We ordered some appetizers and drinks first while waiting, so a couple of us had the Mojioto (forgot my other friends') which was fairly okay. A small basket of munchies..bisuto/shrimp cracker was served with our order of Shrimp and Pomelo Salad. Initial impressions was that the serving was small but was tasty, nonetheless. We also had the calamares, though nothing special about it.
As the group gathered and the night progressed, we had ordered some of the mains: Crispy Pata was indeed the piece-de-resistance of the evening (I had been trying to order any of the lamb or meat dishes but were unfortunately not available anymore, which was a bit of disappointment). The slab of meat was had soft meat, and crunchy skin as it should be garnished with crunchy garlic bits.
KKK or their KareKare was okay, it was peanuty good but we thought the serving size was smaller for sharing..true that their serving sizes are good for 2-3 only.
Lola Isings Adobo was also good, rightly paired with (were those roasted garlic?), as well as the Chicken Inasal, Tortang Talong and Gising Gising, all paired with steamed plain rice.
Now the service was friendly and attentive (albeit being busy) however was really slow. Orders came out at least a good 25-30 minutes or so after ordering.
We thought that the serving sizes versus the price of the food was underwhelming (we all agreed other restos have a better matchpoint), but good food nonetheless.
One of the best restaurants that serve Filipino dishes. I loved their Sinigang na Baboy - it was my kind of asim ng sinigang. Ang dami ng serving nila sa pork, unlike others na 1 or 2 pieces lang yung pork. Chicken Inasal and Tokwa't Baboy are both good. Pancit Canton is good. We also had the Ensalada something. The one with mangga ng bagoong. I must say, wow! Tamang timpla yung bagoong, masarap! Everything's worth the price. Perfect for families. 👍

As soon as I landed in Manila from a 9-hour frligjt from Dubai I was asked by my friends what i wanted to eat. I almost screamed “Sinigang na Baboy!” After goin through the horrendous traffic we have decided to make a quick stop in Greenbelt and look for a Filipino Resto... and there was Fely J’s! The sinigang broth was so good and tangy! The lechon kawali is crunchy and so juicy. The gising gising completed the evening. Dont want to miss out on my Kamias Shake.... so good. Sarap sarap! I am so glad to be home.
I love how they treat customers metion Miss Krista for our unli chicharon appetizer you are the best. I love the food especially the sissig rice ughh.
Fely J’s one of LCJ companies’ resto is perfect for family gathering.
They offer good old Filipino meals that will make you reminisce your mother’s homecooked meals.
Their signature dilis rice is also good. Price-wise, all are good for sharing.
Service was also good.

The LJC Group of Restaurants launches 3" news dishes for The LJC Festival of Flavors as a tribute to the founder behind the success of Cafe Adriatico, Bistro Remedios, Cafe Havana, Fely J's Kitchen, Abe, Lorenzo's Way, Polka Dot and Larry's Cafe & Bar, LARRY J. CRUZ.
🦀Crab Bola-bola sa Gata at Gulay (Fried breaded blue crab meat balls with alugbati and vegetables in coconut milk) - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
"One of the best dish served during our lunch. Simple and flavorful."
#ilovetoeatph 😃❤️
On September of each year, LJC celebrates the LJC month, and one exciting event to look out for is the Festival of Flavors.
The Festival of Flavors is a tribute to the late founder of the LJC group, Lorenzo J. Cruz, or Larry, as people more commonly calls him. It's a feast to commemorate his passion for food that paved the way for the success of his chain of restaurants. It is celebrated with the releasing of 30 brand new, innovative dishes across the restaurants under LJC Group, beginning September 21, 2017.
Fely J's created the Asian seafood and coconut heart salad, the crab bola bola sa gata at gulay, the silk road pork ribs, and the snowy mango for customers to try during the Festival of Flavors.
I've tried the crab bola bola sa gata at gulay. It's a dish of meat balls made of blue crab meat, breaded and fried to a golden color before serving over a bed of vegetables cooked in coconut milk. This crab bola bola sa gata at gulay was a real crowd darling because of the crab's highlighted flavor. Two thumbs up!
Apart from this, LJC group also does a fundraising campaign for the Cancer Institute of the Philippine General Hospital called The LJC good to Dine Campaign. There's also a pick-a-treat promo for all customers on the 17th of the month, which happens to be Larry's birthday.
The LJC month celebrates the good memories that the LJC Group has shared with all its loyal customers, while also paying back to them and to the community. The Festival of Flavors is definitely something no one should miss out on.
A Filipino menu with a twist and yet it doesn't lose the Filipino taste... That's what I like about nothing place... Gotta come back here... Get ready to fall in line though... It gets packed at lunch time
..
One would think Fely J's is an intimidating kind of place, one of those places where you would not know what to order or what to expect of the food. Contrary to that, Fely J's Kitchen offers homecooked goodness with a twist.
We had Tilapia with Plum Sauce, Sinigang na Bangus, Lamb Kaldereta, Lumpiang Sariwa, Chicken Inasal, Crispy Pata and Fely J's Dilis-cious Rice.
Food was enough, good for sharing, although plating could improve given the high price point of the place. Some of the dishes were so-so, palatable but not entirely outstanding.
I particularly enjoyed the Tilapia with Plum Sauce. The sweet sticky plum sauce worked well with the tilapia. Tilapia was fried crisp, I would have wanted it not as crispy. One tip is to have the plum sauce served separately, as others might not be as open to eating tilapia with a sweet condiment and might want to resort to the more conventional toyomansi.
The sinigang was on point, with the sour soup perfectly complementing the bangus fillet and vegetables.
I am not sure if the dilis rice was fried rice or just plain rice with dilis on top.
I would advise to check the place for family occasions, most specially if you have balikbayans in your group.
PS: The wait staff could learn a thing or two about customer service. I would say they were a bit masungit and not attentive at all. A little smile and good manners would have sufficed. Our group did not appreciate that we had to ask for water at least 5 times. We were a big group and had reserved a long table well in advance. They could have provided us water or the usual crackers while we wait. One waitress even had to do the "talk to the hand" gesture when we kept asking for water. Very rude indeed.
Despite the attitude of the wait staff, I am giving the restaurant 3.5 as the food served was filling enough.
This is one of our go to place when we're craving filipino food when in Greenbelt. Hubby and I always order their Tilapia in Plum Sauce. The sauce can either be drizzled on the Tilapia or served separately upon request. I have posted a photo with the sauce served separately. The serving is huge for the Tilapia. We also always order their Pork sinigang in guava. The soup is thick and tasty. Has lots of pork chunks and veggies. Perfect for rainy weather but still yummy in any kind of weather 😜. Their tortang talong is nothing special but tasty. The eggplant has some bits of minced pork inside the egg covering.
They serve prawn crackers while you wait.
Update: Their Bistek Tagalog is super good, a new fave! Gising gising is green vegetable cooked in coconut milk and chilis, so so good! We also ordered vegetable kare kare. They put in the not so usual vegetables in kare kare as expected but the broccoli works great! Bam-i is tasty but a bit oily. Canonigo Mango Balls is super yummmm!!!
We tried the sinigang na bangus in bayabas, pork adobo, utan ilonggo and piniritong hito. Food is delicious. The dessert we tried is the sirketo ni maria, yummy. Coming back to try their other dishes. Service is okay.
Food here is always delicious. I have been here several times for reunions with highschool and college friends and sometimes with my colleagues at work. Each time was truly enjoyable because of the cozy, quiet ambiance and sumptuous Filipino cuisine that never fails to impress even our Japanese guests.
Menu is very straightforward and easy to navigate through though more pictures would make things easier. Restaurant is usually filled especially dinner time, sometimes with a queue outside.
Overall food quality is excellent!
Shrimp Crackers are addicting to nibble on while waiting for the food. You can ask for another serving.
Crispy Patang Bawang is a must-have for its crunchy skin and soft meat from top to bottom. Even after leaving some skin 15 minutes untouched, it's so crunchy like potato chips.
Fely J's Sinigang Boneless Bangus (Milkfish) is near perfection. You must try the guava broth! The scent promises a sweet experience and the thickness of the soup is just great. The bangus needs to be more fresh and it'll be perfect.
Ginataang Nangka at Lamang Dagat is good since I enjoy coconut. It's pretty good but the Crispy Pata is constantly seducing me in tandem with Lengua Rendang.
Lengua Rendang is very soft and tasty. It isn't spicy and perfect to my liking. By the way, lengua is tongue! :)
Sisig Fried Rice can be a stand-alone rice meal or can swing well with other viands. I can say the same for Fely J's Dilis-cious Rice (Anchovy).
Sizzling Sisig will be reviewed another time because this dish was served by accident. To make its travel worth it, I took a photo!
Tortang Talong (Eggplant) is good and comes with two sauces, one being ketchup. It's 2 eggplants or 2 halves covered with egg like an omelette. I won't recommend it because it's too simple for its price.
I loved the sinigang na banugs sa bayabas. It's rich and sweet. :) Their crispy pata is also a winner, crispy skin with succulent meat topped with fried garlic.
Best Filipino restaurant.. Ideal for family gathering, company visitors who would like to taste a Filipino food. Great service. Keep on coming back for more.
Traditional Filipino dish served "turo-turo" style, no gourmet plating. My friend was leaving for Qatar the following week so we ordered atleast ten (meat) viands for a group of five. We all loved the Tilapia in plum sauce, pork liempo, and lengua. We did not finish the sinigang but it tasted good. A friend was two hours late for dinner so we stayed at the restaurant and ordered more food. Too bad some fruits were not available when we ordered the fruit platter. The service was fast the waiters were very attentive.
Had a delightful dinner delivered from Fely J's. Superb Filipino food a South Asian touch as I will explain.
Started off with the zesty Thai Pomelo & Shrimp Salad. Tasty salad with just pomelo pieces and shelled shrimp in a typically Thai dressing of chilies and garlic.
The veg dish we ordered- Gule Magalang - a version of Pinakbet without the bagoong and with added shrimps. Very healthy and tasty too.
One meat dish we ordered was Beef Smoores - it is based on a Sri Lankan recipe called ismoru. Thin, tender beef slices in a mildly spicy coconut gravy. Really good. The other dish we got was Lengua Rendang - which is fork tender lengua cooked in Indonesian Rendang sauce. A great dish that gives you a range of flavors in every bite, from lemongrass and ginger to chillies and creamy coconut milk. Truly remarkable.
Love this place! The staff was highly accommodating. The food was fantastic - as expected from an LJC restaurant. Their Kare-Kare was to die for. The binagoongan was properly seasoned and was cooked really well. I also love it that they have brown rice.
In order to introduce our foreign trainer to the amazing world of Filipino dishes, our TL decided to treat us here at Fely J's Kitchen.
We tried Kare-Kare, Piniritong Hito, Pancit Canton Guisado, some veggies and Fely J's Dilis-cious Rice.
Everything we've rdered reflected the great Filipino taste. We're really glad that our trainer loved every food in our table.
The service is great as well! Thumbs up for Fely J's management 😊
I love this Filipino Resto! ❤️ I highly recommend this to OFWs who miss and craves Pinoy food. 😃 The Lamb Kaldereta is my fave its a 'must try' 😊
Filipino food served just like how it's done at home, no gourmet plating, nothing fancy. That's what you'll get from Fely J's. Loved how they'll take you through their menu.
We tried the following --
Appetizer: Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls
Fresh Rice Paper stuffed with veggies, shrimp and pork. They served this with two kinds of sauces - Thai and peanut sauce. I am very much a fan of this kind of Spring Roll smothered with salty and sweet peanut sauce but Fely J's version was bland. The Thai Sauce was better since it made the each bite flavorful adding character to the plain but fresh rolls. Tried combining them and I guess that's the best way to go.
Soup: Utan Ilonngo
Clear vegetable soup with okra, squash, eggplant, sayote and malunggay leaves. It also had shrimps and clams and to add more flavor to the soup, they threw in some lemon grass. The veggies were done right and I loved that it's healthy! It's so simple yet I loved it and will definitely order this for my children! Yup, mommy approved!
Bistek Tagalog ng Kano
Any guess why this Filipino household favorite dish was called as such? There's nothing special with the ingredients. Just your typical Bistek Tagalog mix of calamansi, onions, garlic and soy sauce. Fely J's leveled this up with thin strips of US Black Angus Sirloin pan fried in olive oil. The taste of the sauce brought me back home to my grandma's and mom's Bistek. But of course the beef was super tender and married well with the marinade. This was a crowd favorite!
Chicken "mabuting" Inasal
I really don't know why it was called "mabuting" Inasal lol but anyway it was flavorful and the meat was tender. Just like the way we know inasal, the chicken was marinated with garlic, calamansi and spices then grilled Inasal style.
Lengua Rendang
One of my favorites from the spread! I remember growing up eating Lengua in White Sauce when I was a child and it was one of my Lola's specialty. I've always had it like that and I enjoyed it but having it Rendang style was as well awesome! Loved the very tender lamb slices and the sauce that exploded with spices! It had hints of coconut milk and wasn't too spicy.
Ginataang Nangka at Lamang Dagat
Never a fan of Ginataang Nangka and I have never tried the dish before because I enjoy Nangka on its fresh or sweetened form and can't imagine eating it with rice. But then again I needed to break my No Ginataang Nangka Since Birth life so I tried it. It was weird but okay. Did not taste bad at all but the texture was weird. I honestly didn't know which was the fruit meat and the sea food. I just chewed and swallowed and tasted the rich coconut milk sauce.
Black Pepper Crab
My FAVORITE of all in the spread! If there is one dish I would say that you should try here, GET THIS! Lol #galitnagalit No exaggeration here, it's really a huge piece of crab and it's so good! The meat was juicy, the sauce was rich and flavorful. Full of black pepper with ginger, it was one spicy but delicious crab!

Went here for lunch with my officemates. This place is one of the filipino restaurants that serves authentic good filipino food with a kick. We ordered gising gising, kare kare, their tilapia with sweet plum sauce, and lamb kaldereta for our main dishes. They used kangkong stems instead for the...
I went here with a large group of co-workers so I got to try a lot of different things. All of them were pretty good, but nothing was spectacular. Also, I didn't love the restaurants ambiance...
Definitely worth a visit, they serve traditional Filipino meal... love their gule magalang. I recommended the restaurant to my balikbayan aunt and she loved it as well.
Great Filipino dishes that the family would enjoy. We ordered siding, karekare, gising gising, adobo, rice and sinigang. They all tasted great. Not one of them is lousy. Service is excellent.
I requested for sinigang with Gabi and they gave me a bowl for free!
Fely J's Kitchen is a Filipino and Asian fusion as one of the LJC Group restos. If you want something "lutong bahay" outside your homes this resto is worth a try.
Ambiance (4/5)
Dining here gives you an ancestral feels. You would feel like dining in your hacienda. You'd see photos of the mother of the owner, Ms. Felicidad. Surpisingly they have private rooms to accomodate private functions.
Food (4:5)
We had kropek as our complimentary appetizer. We also added Fresh Spring Rolls. As to our main course, we had their classic kare-kare, lengua rendang, and gising-gising. I loved them all! As for the drinks, I tried Felyjini, their own fruit punch with pineapple, kamias, and orange.
Verdict
Definitely i'd come back and try their other dishes. This place is good for familes and groups, and most specially for "balikbayans".
Feeling nostalgic to see & be with high school girl friends, right choice of resto - Fely J's. We had fresh lumpia, kare-kare, crispy hito, & the crunchy crispy pata. So full we didn't had space for desserts.
Prices just right.
Alert & courteous staff.
Very good food.
Happy tummy!
My wife introduced me to this restaurant. When I entered, I felt like I was entering a typical Filipino house of the 50's with wooden furniture, framed old pictures on the walls and cozy lighting. We decided to try the Utan Ilonggo, Lola Ising's Adobo and their Dilis Rice. The Utan Ilonggo was like Dinengdeng, stewed vegetable soup of the Ilocanos, but had some sweetness in taste. It was really good! The adobo was perfectly cooked in the sense that the meat was very soft and the taste was indescribably different. It's like it has a secret ingredient that makes you want to eat more of it. The dilis rice was also good with the dilis being very crispy that adds some crunch to the food. For dessert, we tried the Sikreto ni Maria Clara which I highly recommend that you try. Overall, I loved the experience and will definitely go back to try other dishes.
Took an indonesian young couple for dinner. Food was great and priced reasonably. Loved their gising gising and crispy shrimps. Guest enjoyed the KKK and sinigang na bangus sa bayabas. Topped off with their signature dilis rice.
There was lengua rendang but that didn't impress me.
Staff were efficient and hospitable too.
The restaurant offers a variety of Filipino and Asian dishes with a very good ambiance and with an excellent service. I was thinkin' that I won't enjoy the food much but to my surprise, they are all perfectly cooked. Their chef must be good. Or, maybe it is Fely De Jesus -Cruz's secret mouth-watering recipes that made their dishes absolutely delicious. You'll surely enjoy the food from appetizer to desert. I love it!😘👍🏾
This restaurant which serves mainly Filipino and few Asian fusion dishes is an ideal place for balikbayans or foreigners who crave for contemporary Pinoy food. Located in one of Makati's most famous, modern and urban landmarks that is Greenbelt 5, Fely J's is a right place to be and to dine. One of its popular dishes, dilis-cious rice (garlic fried rice with generous topping of crispy-fried dried anchovies), goes well with any viand such as tilapia with plum sauce, sizzling sisig and gising-gising.
Fely J's is another good Filipino restaurant to take balikbayan family and friends place is quiet even if busy there's adequate number of personnel who can attend to the guests and their needs, food is great. One should try the bagoong fried rice, KKK has always been one of my favorites, their crispy pata and binagoongan is also recommended. The avocado bliss was a first for us and we definitely enjoyed it.

Contrary to most reviews about Fely J's, I actually enjoyed the food when I once had lunch here with my colleagues. The place is like an old dining place decorated with old photos.
Fely J's offers delicious home-cooked dishes such as Dinuguan, Sisig and Gising-Gising. For those who want something healthy, try the Crispy Hito. It's one big, whole catfish that is fried to a crisp and served with fresh mustard leaves and balaw-balaw. Balaw-balaw is similar to Buro or fermented rice and fish. Only for balaw-balaw, small shrimps are used instead of fish, rendering this dip a milder taste. Buro is saltier and more sour.
Food and service are ok. Also with my advance reservation. I commend also the way they handle our stay there since it was our dad's post bday celebration. As to the food, sinigang in bayabas was outstanding!
One of the best Filipino fusion food restaurant I’ve tried. The servings are rather small considering the price, but personally it was worth it. Great place to have business lunch or dinner, and also great for family too. My personal favorites are Lechon Kawali, Gising - gising, Ginataang Gulay at Hipon.
I would higly suggest this restaurant if you are looking for a good filipino food. They serve good food. Dilis-cious rice is a must. There will be always room for dessert, dont leave without trying their famous sikreto ni maria! All time favorite. Simple yet heavy😋👍🏼
Yummilicous and heavy!! The food is superbly filipino and delicious. The place is also great and the staff is accommodating! I wanted to go back and again recommend to friends. They have this intriguing dessert name, sikreto ni maria clara (if i remembered iy right) its yummy 👍👍
Best choice for filipino dishes! Binagoongang baboy is my favorite plus the Sinigang na pork rib and the Rice with dilis surprisingly very good!

You can't go wrong here! Rice dilis was surprisingly superb. Bangus on guava soup is a must. I also like the buttered shrimp. Crispy pata is so tender inside & crispy outside. Veggies were solid also. We definitely go back! Wow Sikreto Ni Maria is awesome. Partner them with brewed coffee. 😜
My other choice when I'm willing to indulge on Filipino food. They serve nicely-plated, well-loved Filipino dishes, reasonably priced too. Perfect for impressing colleagues or clients who are new to Manila. A handful of vegetarian options, most of which are well-loved classics, so this place will always be on my list of good Filipino restaurants.
Good service, tasty dishes, reasonable prices. Gets packed during lunch and dinner, so be sure to come early or call ahead to reserve.
Chicken pork adobo and dilis rice is the bomb!!! It has roasted whole garlic and it's just lovely. Take foreigner guests there to show off Filipino cuisine.
It's a go to restaurant for Filipino comfort food. We've dined here a couple of times and every visit was a pleasure. The dilis rice with tausi was not too salty and perfectly matches their other dishes like the gising gising, lechon kawali and sisig. Service was attentive even though we chose outside seating.
And that rice is indeed delicious! A simple rice dish with some taosi for added flavor.
Those Crispy Swahe bits sure packed up some crunch yet maintaining that soft interior of the shrimp. It wasn’t fried all the way through, and lightly coated with some breading on its exterior. Dip it in some vinegar for added flavor.
One can either have the Fely J’s Sinigang classic style or in a guava-based broth. You can also choose from either having boneless milkfish (P 395), pork rib (P 395) or prawns (P 565) in. We chose the guava version with boneless milkfish in. Warm and a bit creamy, this was perfect for the somewhat cold weather that night. The guava broth wasn’t that strong but you could taste the fruit in it. It adds this sweet twist to the traditional sour taste of the soup.
The pork chunks on the Lola Ising’s Adobo had indeed a crisp outer layer but still moist and tender inside. It’s not your usual adobo which is very flavorful. The taste was just right that would leave you wanting for more after one bite.
An original dish from their Bistro Remedios restaurant, this was one secret that just needs to be revealed. Covered in seemingly snowlike vanilla ice cream, theSikreto ni Maria Clara was topped with some brown sugar. As one takes a spoonful of this, one gets to uncover the secret which are some mangoes and suman (sweetened rice cake). I really wanted more of the rice cake as it was very good.
This is always a good place to dine with your family whatever the occasion maybe. Backed up with good service and delicious dishes, I’m sure you’ll have good memories and a fun family time at this place.
If you are looking for a fine dining Filipino cuisine, I recommend Fely J's Kitchen..they have mouthwatering foods!
Their "Sinigang sa Guava Bangus Belly" and "Seafood Kare-Kare" are to die for! Plus try their "Sikreto ni Maria Clara" for dessert ;)
