Been looking for a good hotel breakfast for some time now and getting quite disappointed a lot of times already. When we browsed through the spread for our breakfast buffet here at The Pantry, initial reaction was that there’s nothing much that’s special about the spread. Our expectations were low, so it was a pleasant surprise for us to taste what they have to offer.
Everything tasted good. This was one satisfying breakfast. Their Pinoy Beef Steak was so so good as with everything else. Service was good too.
Loved the mang tataho roaming around offering taho.
The place is nice. Cozy. Staffs are also nice and accomodating.
If you want a peaceful and quiet place to have coffee and think about life, don't go to a coffee shop, instead go to a hotel lobby and have your cup there. I did just that at The Pantry at Dusit Hotel lobby. Great place to spend an afternoon. Strong coffee and is decently priced. Once the clock strikes dinner time the place gets a little crowded. Will come back here for the buffet next time.
Visited The Pantry when I accompanied my Mom to an event.
We're ushered immediately to a very cozy seat and given the menu. I waa curious of the bread and pastries area so I checked it out and settled for a Ham & Cheese Croissant and Espresso for merienda.
I enjoyed the short but sweet experience. The taste of the bread waa good, bread was fresh and heated accordingly. I also ordered Latte to go with my bread. The latte was not that hot when it was served, and did not bother to ask it to be reheated since I was in a hurry.
Never have I been a fan of desserts in buffets until now. Typically, I would get disappointed, but The Pantry actually delivered. Their cheese selection, roasted beef short ribs and lechon are really worth the seconds. Sadly, people are missing out on the yummy Fish Palak and the Paneer Tandoori; they're almost untouched!
Buffet quality 4.5
They have a good variety of dishes but what i like most is the quality. The selection may not be as extensive as the others, but almost everything was worth paying as ala carte serving. Lechon had a surprisingly delicate flavor, altho twasnt as crunchy as i would like it to be but i devoured it just the same. Enjoyed the popular Indian dishes like butter chicken. The prawns tho were overcooked. Pizza tasted great with its thin crust. Ramen was so amazing, with the broth and stringy noodles as if it came from a ramen house. All the desserts are sinfully delicious! The fresh fruits are divine. Three types of juices are included which is a plus.

Coffee and Dessert
We had the Banana Turon and the ice cream that came with it was like chocnut ice cream! Yummy Dessert ❤ Their coffee was good too. We had Cafe Latte and Americano. 👍 Ambience homey and relaxing. Like it a lot! 😊
Decided to have the family celebrate hubby’s birthday here and it was an excellent decision. The ambience is very homey and all the staff are good-natured. Food is tasty and there is a wide variety even on a weekday.
Not my very first time dine in with Dusit Thani. You guys all did a wonderful job. The picks are plenty as compared to other establishments within a luxury hotel restaurant, the food was very sumptuous! I regaled my friend to my birthday dinner here and all of them enjoyed very much, most especially their tummy. Fabulous selection of seafood, BBQ, salads. I was so happy with the taste of fresh crabs, shrimps, shells and especially Lechon. Their dessert section as well. I decided to sign up with their loyal membership program to enjoy privileges offers. Would definitely come back to treat myself and beloved one by using my membership card!
Finally, tried The Pantry's Saturday Lunch Buffet. Staff / Service was amazing, I compliment all of them. From the Front Desk to our waiters, Aljoann and Eldito, very attentive and continuously ready to serve. We told their Manager Lester of our praises to the waiters and he was equally warm and friendly. We concluded they received good training from him.
We especially enjoyed (even went back to the Ramen Station).. I believe a favorite. There were Filipino dishes -lechon, crispy pata and Indian dishes. Loved their pasta (baked mac and cheese - gourmet-style) and pizza. Dessert -chocolate cake, ice cream was a nice closing. Had a good experience at The Pantry.
Celebrated my birthday here together with my friends and I highly recommend this place to all buffet lovers. They offer a wide variety of food selection and also the service and staff were all well trained and very accommodating to your needs. Food ingredients were not cheap and very generous in giving to their customers.
The food tasted good! Enough choices for a breakfast buffet. The bad thing was the floor near the buffet area where we’re seated was slippery. 2persons slipped in front of us while we’re eating which made us feel worried and bothered during our breakfast.
Good food and very cozy resto. I really enjoyed eating there. They have a lot of food to choose from, and their food is warm. The waiters are also courteous. Filipino culture is evident. I enjoyed their lunch buffet on a Saturday.
I only go here for one thing and one thing only.
Every hotel buffet seems to have a variety of the standard items but there's usually one thing that sets it apart.
Some might be the overcooked prime rib, others might be a variety of seafood, at the pantry... It is The Lechon
All you can eat crispy skin lechon, perfectly cooked with a variety of sauces.
I like to get there early (6pm so I can choose my fave spots on the pig).
Worth every peso.. its just that they dont serve sashimi here which i always look for an all you can eat restaurant especially this is a hotel.. juices are free here unlike the other hotels that you have to pay separate for the drinks..
Dine during Lunch on a 50% off promo of Eatigo..
Great buffet in less than 1K, thanks to a colleague who is a Dusit Thani Lifestyle Member! Except for the absence of sashimi selections in the Japanese station, everything else is well prepared and I have the seafood to focus on. Though am not a fan, there is a whole lechon in the offer. Need to bring my family to this place soon.

One fine Saturday evening, me and my father were craving for authentic Italian pizza! Since we heard from friends about their amazing Christmas decor displayed in their lobby, we stopped by!
We ordered for one classic margherita pizza and it truly won our heart! Cheesy and classic flavour of Mozzarella with their authentic tomatoes marinara sauce makes us relish our Italian days.
This restaurant also offers buffet offering lipsmaking food of different cuisines: Italian, Filipino, Indian, and dessert (ofcourse!). The price for dinner is in the neighbourhood of 2,300 PHP.
I highly recommend this place if you would like authentic pizza!
Overall review - 4/5
I really wouldn’t go back to a buffet restaurant four times if it wasn’t any good.
I’ll keep this simple. Go for the lechon. Their lechon is well-seasoned Cebu-style, I think.
Their other dishes are flavourful as well, although they can become dry because of exposure to the air. Their desserts are a hit or miss, but definitely better than other buffet restaurants of similar price points.
Ambiance is a bit awkward. It’s like you’re eating at a hotel’s lobby... which is not entirely wrong considering there is no definite wall that separates The Lobby from The Pantry. See what I did there? Heh.
Overall, I would recommend this place if you want to eat your body weight on good food. And lechon. Let’s not forget about their lechon.
I love going here every Friday for the Seafood Feast Buffet with my husband and good friends, I always looking forward to be dine here with my husband
I was here on a weekday lunch. The dining area has a cozy vibe. Luxurious. Attendants are friendly. The focus of the buffet is the quality of their offerings rather than the quantity. I can say that the highlight is the lechon as it is tasteful without needing a sauce. Another highlight is the variety of their Filipino cuisine. As it is a weekday lunch, there are no tuna/salmon sashimi. The attendant told me its only available during Sunday lunch. My favorite part aside from lechon are their cakes! To be specific, their blueberry cheesecake and chocolate mousse. I think I saw the ice cream station but I have not tried them.
The Pantry is a relatively new restaurant that promotes the ‘farm to fork’ concept and uses organic and locally sourced produce and ingredients. The quality of the food selection is excellent. The carving station is great. The freshness of the seafood is remarkable. The appetizers, particularly the selection of cheese and cold cuts are simply amazing. The fresh fruits are unbelievably sweet. The dessert selection is incredible good. Definitely worth coming back to.
I gave it a 4 because of the service provided to us by the staff😍 they were all courteous, friendly and i can safely say well trained. Kudos to youall👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 However, when it comes to the food, some items were bland like the soup and mac n cheese. But the desserts were sooo good👍🏻 I also like their super yummy lechon, indian and the italian food selection. Limited but delish☺️
Dinner buffet starts at 6PM. At Php2350, inclusive of service charge on a Saturday night. The Pantry exceeded our expectations. And their lounge singer was placed strategically-so we got to enjoy that too!
They have a great selection for salads... Nicoise (is that right?) & grilled chicken were good!
Seems like they have limited selection for Japanese.. but then again, we prefer Quality vs Quantity! Love their Cali Maki ♡♡♡
And OMG! They roast their lechon on site.. and I (Joan) alnost cried when I heard the crispiness of the lechon skin! ***drool*** best lechon ever!!!
Indian and Filipino station were okay.. plus they have some Chinese dimsum, & ramen.
From the pasta station, we had the Penne Arabiata, and hands down, this is soooo tasty!
For dessert, they have cakes, gelato, churros, & macaroons ♡♡♡ plus fresh fruits!
Coffee & fresh juice are included in the buffet!
And their service is super, really friendly & warm staff!
The Pantry has a positive and golden vibe as you enter the restaurant. I ordered Chili lime salt prawns for my dinner. I ditched the mashed potato and chose rice as an alternative. The prawns were really good, as well as the dip which enhances the taste of the prawns. I also ordered mango fruit shake for my drink.
Definitely worth every peso on their scrumptious lunch buffet. Dig in to their massive seafood selection from fresh salmon, crabs, clams and shrimp. Unlimited wine on Sundays and a wide variety of dessert to complete your day. Hats off too to their servers too who were very polite with over the top service, as expected from Dusit Thani.
Tried their lunch buffet here. It’s really good. You can get a discount if you book thru eatigo. Dessert station doesn’t disappoint and ambience is really exemplary.
I came across The Pantry while checking the Eatigo app and found this to have discounts for lunch and dinner plus superb customer ratings. So, we went to try it for our anniversary :)
I love the relaxing setting and how it was spacious enough for guests. The service was great and their staffs are courteous and attentive. Although they didn't have a wide array for your buffet selection, it is a must try specially for seafood lovers. They serve Indian, Italian, Filipino and Pan-Asian cuisines. And oh, the desserts, although not much, I had to go for a 4th round.
As we went on a Sunday, we took the lunch buffet with wines which was great!
The place is kid friendly but not much option/selection for them (in my opinion).
Overall, loved it and will def be back!
The Eatventurers visited this European goodness in Dusit Thani Manila and we were very satisfied.
The beef striploin was superb! It’s cooked to perfection, juicy and not too hard to cut. The pepper sauce enhances the taste but one can do away with it.
The dessert are also good. Not too sweet but still delicious.

My fiancé and I decided to have dinner here with my mom last Friday to celebrate Mother’s Day and we’re happy to have ended up here.
The food’s great! They have a station for Filipino dishes (including lechon), a salad station, a station for ramen, a station for pizza and pasta, a station for desserts which includes churros, seafood station, and their very own Thai station. Their selection may not be as big as other hotel restaurants that serve cuisines around the world, but they made sure your taste buds will be satisfied with each dish. What stood out was their seafood station - 3 big wok-style containers full of crabs, shrimps, and shells which you can drizzle with 3 different sauces. Did I already mention that one big steamed salmon in a platter beside them?
On the other hand, we noticed that they don’t immediately get your empty plates and we had to call their attention to refill our glasses with water. It’s not a big deal for us but I think they can get a 5 in the future if they improve their service as well.
Recommended: ☑️
We tried their dinner buffet featuring all meat special but there were still the seafood staple of crab and shrimps. Lechon was good, it was roasted on site so it's hot and the skin is so crispy. Salad bar was on point with different freshly made dressings and a variety of lettuce leaves. Dessert bar was very good, they even have traditional halo halo where you can choose your own mix for toppings. Service was good and attentive. Our server even brought a bowl of water to wash our fingers with, before we ate our seafood. I would definitely go back. Price was good for the ambience and unobtrusive service. The restaurant was filled to seating capacity but they were not crowded unlike the other buffet restaurants in the Metro.
The place was great thanks to its high end ambience; it was a bit crowded during the weekday lunch buffet but we were able to sample majority of the dishes. The crispy lechon was delicious although it was indeed indulgent and wide assortment of side dishes like salads help cut the richness of the food. Overall, the various selection of food will surely whip out an appetite!

Dusit Thani Manila’s The Pantry may not have an extensive buffet spread, but this restaurant is not one to be overlooked when dining in Makati City. Among all hotels in Makati, Dusit Thani Manila is probably one that I often overlook. Perhaps it’s the location or maybe because I have not really heard much buzz about it. Nevertheless, a visit to Dusit Thani Manila’s signature restaurant, The Pantry, was something I looked forward to.
Great food selection for the price specially if you will be using credit card promos. Quality food + good ambience. Also includes juices and teas which is very rare in hotel buffets.
This buffet place is one of my favorite hotel restaurants. The place was great and cozy. Food had a touch of sophistication and elegance. Plus service was awesome. I'll definitely go back to this place.
What do you look forward to most on Sundays? For us, it is the glory of relaxed pacing of a Sunday Lunch. The best mid-day activity is to share a good meal spread with your loved ones. The Pantry has nine global stations: the Chinese bao bar, the Indian Tandoor oven, the brick oven pizza area, the salad station, the seafood station, the carving station, the dessert station, the beverage studio, and a takeaway counter called Grab & Go.
I give The Pantry A for presentation and promo rates in partnership with BDO.
The Pantry has good set of options for their lunch buffet. But for the carving station its now usually just pork. Lechon, crispy pata and the likes.
Makes me miss Basix where I can request the chef to grill practically anything.
I like that they have a healthy section with all the fruits and vegetables and even added juices.
For dessert station, the churros are a bit tough to bite. Nonetheless the presentation is really nice and you can see that it was thoughtfully prepared.
Dusit Thani is home to one of the best buffets in town. They serve various foods from different regions to countries, from indian, to italian, to filipino delicacies. Plus their ambience is great and the people are friendly and understanding.

Made our 2nd Anniversary more special by celebrating it here. The Pantry is underrated when it comes to the 5-star Hotel buffet category. Lechon is the bomb of The Pantry!!! You've got to try all the lechon meals available. The ambience is super nice since you can expect it for a 5-star hotel but there's nothing much special for the available foods of the 9 stations except for their Lechon and dessert.
The food is great! Esp the dessert section. I'm a super big fan of sweets and just seeing their whole dessert wall makes me so kilig! Food is also so-so, with a wide variety of cuisines, like your typical hotel buffets. The place is kinda dark tho, but cozy. Makes me feel quite a bit sleepy whenever i go here.
Excellent value for money. Went on a weeknight with my mom. Good selection of food, for the price. Even more reasonable than some mall-based buffets. Seafood is fresh. Meat is of high quality. Very attentive and friendly staff. Their desserts and cook to order stations are superb. You are spoilt for choice for sauces. Will definitely come here again for a quick upper-mid-range buffet fix.
Nothing beats Dusit Thani with their sumptuous Lechon, and other food cuisines. I love their wonderful customer service. I will always be back to Dusit and experience a world class food choices.
Quality ingredients make the best meals. I think this is the best advantage of The Pantry. Every bite you'll know they meats and seafood are fresh.
The best dishes I loved was the paneer curry, lamb curry, freshly baked roti Chennai, smoked Tanigue and the pasta station!
The dessert selection was superb. The pecan pie and mousse was delicious. The gelato was good too, I recommend passion fruit and raspberry. The crème brûlée was perfect!
What I didn't like was the lechon wasn't that hot but over-all I love everything about The Pantry. I will be back soon!!!

Taste 4/5, ambiance 5/5, service 5/5, choices 4/5, value for money 5/5. If you love meat, there’s great lechon, lamb, and steak. Other than that, there’s a bit of Italian, Indian, Chinese, and Japanese. More than anything, it’s great value for money.
Probably one of the better hotel buffets in the city. The layout is good, spacious and has a very wide selection of different cuisines. The desserts were equally delicious. Taste is on point and everything I've tried was delicious. Staff is polite and accommodating. Worth the price for me.
Food serving is for two people, price of food is justified by quality and quantity. Venue is perfect for a relaxing sunday morning. Coffee and tea here has a lot of varieties to choose from.
Bought a treat for a friend, elegant yet simple packaging. Her reaction was "delicioso 👌"
Will come back here.
Lunch buffet last Saturday. Selection is acceptable.
Appetizer and salad waz ok but not great you can skip these. Seafood, lechon and roast beef were good. Though they took more than 30min to refill the roast beef. Dessert selection was very good, has a balance of classic and new desserts.

I really like their service and friendly ambiance. The food is great and sumptuous, and filling at a very good price. The buffet selections are also delectable. Perfect place to chill!
My experience here is very extraordinary. The food, services and ambiance is really one of the best. But what stand out is the fact we had a meeting with Billy Dela Rosa (General Bato's nephew) and Mr. Roa, our president Duterte's nephew and the staff never recognize who thet are.
I decided to their buffet lunch last week (Wednesday). I came 15 mins before 12 noon and they were not yet open so the receptionist asked me to wait for a while. All the staff were really nice and accommodating, very customer friendly.
The choices for seafood were shrimp, crab, mussel and baked oyster.
For their sushi, they only have like 3-4 kinds of sushi. I didn't like the sushi, it tasted bland.
The bread selection was great.
Their lechon is fine but the lechon skin was really "makunat".
Their dessert, it was fine. But I liked their Oreo ice cream, I had 2 rounds of it.
Their buffet was not sulit for the price (less than 2k).
Delicious tom yum, fresh steamed shrimp, and love their great selection of dessert. Friendly chef, great ambience with private room available
My first time to try here at The Pantry.. We arrived 15 minutes early since the lunch starts at 12PM. Though we were early the staff welcome us , and allowed us to check the place and the varieties of food that they offer. They have a bit of everything here, I like the seafood area where you can ask them to cook it with butter or just olive oil. The Halal food were authentic and it was so delish. I was look for a dimsum area to look for hakaw (which is my favorite) but unfortunately they don''t serve it either on lunch or dinner. Don't expect a Chinese food, you might get disssappointed, they only serve Pork/Chicken siomai and Pork siopao. The Lechon was so-so, a bit hard to chew but the steak- Love it, it was so tender.
I want to commend the staff-were so attentive they serve you with a smile, they make sure that we are okay, You don't really have to call them, they check on us every so often.
Price was a bit high 1,900 for lunch, good thing we got it on a discounted price.. They only serve few choices.. I guess I was expecting more because of the price.
I love how this place is constructed. Very spacious and you can get to roam around the area freely while you check out their food selection. I should say, menu selection is "just enough" - not too overwhelming but all tastes good as it looks. Their chilled juices (which is part of their buffet spread) are all fresh! The best part is their very courteous team/chefs who are always ready to provide assistance on anything. Would definitely be back!
The Pantry? 5!
Why? Because they have the Awesomest Seafood Buffet on a Saturday dinner! The sizes of the seafood were seriously big and well prepared that I didn't have any choice but to binge on the salmon and the prawn.
They have a wide array of choices, from Filipino cuisine to mid eastern, Chinese, noodle section, salads and rolls. They also have unlimited drinks of apple, orange, and mango on top of their perfectly brewed coffee and different teas. The desserts are also difficult to ignore! I'm a dessert person so I was really thankful that they have a lot!!! I sampled most of it and all flavours of ice cream :) worth mentioning is also their pasta! The creamy pasta is being mixed in a vat like cheese! I only saw this kind of preparation in a resto in Italy. It's a must try!
Have I mentioned The Roast Pigs?! Well, they were the kings and queens of the night, overshadowing the lean yet big prawns 😋😋😋. They may have brought out 5 already and it was just 8 PM.
Why? The staff is well oiled machinery of professionalism, efficiency, patience, and friendliness. We were seated beside a table of a family with this most quarrelsome madam who was picking on all the staff for no reason at all ( we can all hear her so loud and clear). She looked like an executive of some government agency (for some reason they all have that look 😆) even before she finished some sort of instruction to the poor waitstaff, she changed her mind and wanted the manager instead. Yet all the staff were still smiling courteously and sincerely nice. Kudos to you all!
Why? The place is elegantly spacious. I don't have the verbosity to describe the place, that's as far as I can say 😜
PS: special thanks to Kirby for being so accommodating to our party, truly you made our dining experience even better :)
We came here late and since we're to lazy to go back to our room, we have limited choices of pastries that we can order. Service is great. The attendant is still hyper when taking orders. Food was well presented aside from the fact that it also tastes yummy. Price is reasonable..
I was looking forward to more choices in the Japanese section. To my disappointment there was no sashimi. Curry lovers will enjoy that section of the buffet. I saw an Indian chef walking around.
Review for The Pantry's Grab and Go: It's been years since I last visited Dusit Thani. Three years if I recall when my family had our Holiday staycation. So the newly revamped all dining restaurant The Pantry is something new for me to try. For this visit, I was asked to buy some bread for dinner and since I was a few steps away from the property I decided to give them a try. Before the revamp, I recall their baked breads are not hotel quality notably the ensaymadas - it was so 'nakakadala'. It was like pandesal topped with butter and store bought block of cheese. So I was quite hestitant when I gave them another try by buying the Large Ube Ensaymada - to my surprise, it was good.
Priced at 225pesos, the platter sized bread is topped with thinly grated cheese and a dallop of ube. When sliced, you can see the layers of ube alternating with the bread. The butter can be more given the size. The bread was no longer the pandesal texture of the past - it vastly improved but still a few notches away from the silkiness of The Cake Club of Diamond Hotel or The Pastry Corner of Bellevue Manila. Warm it up before consuming.
Expect your bread be handled haphazardly and placed in a thin brown bag unlike most Hotel establishments. Service was quick but lacked charm and warmth which is a must for a Dusit Thani property. Still recommended.

Last year, I had the fortunate opportunity to be a guest at the GMA News TV show, Pop Talk. Since that would be my third time to do it, I was kind of wary of accepting the gig. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed both guest appearances, but I was thinking of asking to recommend another blogger friend of mine who hadn't been on the show yet, just in the spirit of friendship and giving others a chance. However, once I found out we would be reviewing Hotel set meals and buffets, I thought to myself, "Screw friendship, I'm in!".
The Pantry is one of my favorite buffet places. Of course since it's based inside a hotel it's expensive but you get what you pay for because the quality of the food is great. My personal favorite is the ribs with the special sauce. The Lechon was also really good. They also offer Chinese and Filipino food. There are a variety of drinks and desserts. I was very satisfied with my visit. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Hopefully they'll add more food and dessert options, they only had a few (but still good) choices on the ice cream.
The pantry is a major upgrade from Basix. The place is bright/ well lit.
Breakfast review
Long spread and around 8 stations to choose from. Bread products are delicious and not dry I tried both muffins, strawberry danish, doughnut bavarian and croissant. Waffle and pancake looks sad and dry. French toast is good. They have bread pudding.
Egg station has quiche and on the spot requests. Omelette I requested is overcooked.
They have taho and champorado, plenty of fruits and wide choices of cereals and dried fruits. Cheese, salads and coldcuts are also available.
I liked the corned beef and ham. The longanisa is also good. Tapa, so so.
There's a vegetarian and indian food station too. Roti is always good here in dusit.
They have different juices, coffee is good. Hot chocolate is not good.
Overall, good place to have breakfast. Price is a bit high.
There isn't much sushi here, unlike most buffets in Metro Manila. It's also not as big as most. The food's very good quality, I enjoyed the roasts particularly.
There's a wide selection of desserts here. Go here if you love desserts (and want to eat a lot).
I dont know how this place got 3.0? This is definitely 4.5 for me.
I love their contemporary modern interiors -its light airy, and fresh
Since we have dusit membership, we can avail the buffet at half of original price (2500pesos), so we always go here for special occasions.
The buffet place have 7 stations - juices, salad, carving station, asian cuisine (thai, indian, filipino), chinese, pasta/pizza, desert.
Mý favorites:
carving station -succulent braised beef over gravy with potato shreds, lechon station
Indian/thai cuisine -variety foods with authentic indian/thai flavors -Bisyani rice, pad thai, beef curry
Pastas/risotto -made to order truffle pasta and risotto -serve fresh from the counter
Desert -one of the best hotel buffet desert station. Quality cakes and pastries, their churro is to die for
On special dates, you can have crossover with Umu, japanese resto just across the pantry. They have variety of makis and sushi
I will always have good memories in this place.
Will always come back here 😊

Their "cross over" buffet between The Pantry and Umu Restaurant is the best experience you could get in Dusit Thani. The selections in The Pantry (from the salad bar to juices and to the seafood) are very fresh! Their meat selection are cooked to perfection (tender and juicy-- just right)👌🏻; The Italian station had a limited selection, i was quite disappointed at the pasta pesto and white sauce; lastly, the dessert station was superb, it has a limited selections but all of it was a standout.
Umu Restaurant's selection however is limited, quality over quantity right? Some of their menu choices of sushi, maki, wagyu, stir scallops was enough to authenticate a full Japanese dining experience.
The staff is very accommodating. The ambiance is very cozy as well. Their wagyu beef steak is a must try! Avoid weekends though, especially Sundays, because the crowd can be overwhelming.

Our family took advantage of credit card promo and celebrated my brother-in-law's birthday here. The staff are accommodating and welcoming and the surroundings are quite posh. Still, I found the food offerings quite limited, I didn't even see a selection of sashimi. I found the beef brisket overly seasoned and the creme brulee's sugar topping tasted burnt. Also, the strawberries, whether chocolate-coated or garnishing the dessert offerings - still had their leaves so it was a hassle having to remove them.
Highlights of the meal, however, included the mushroom risotto and the lamb shawarma.
We usually celebrate Valentine's day with our high school friends. This year, we had dinner at The Pantry, Dusit Thani Manila. We tried their Prime rib, Lamb chops, variety of cheese, Risotto, seafoods (cooked to our liking👌) and the new addition to the wide array of food, my personal favorite, The Lechon 🐖. All these yummy goodness food are all paired with Antares Merlot. And finally, while we were serenaded by the acoustic band, we finished the night with lots of dessert (I mean all the dessert choices 😆), lots of good laugh, and a memorable night. Cheers 🍷🍷🍷
For a fancy family dinner out, The Pantry is the best for me. I didn't ask anymore about the price per head because my mom just gave us a treat. The ambiance and service is world class. There is no problem with the cleanliness of the surroundings plus the ambiance is really cozy too. The food is the best. Their buffet is really the buffet we all wanted. It's not just the choice of cuisine but also their desserts are buffet. Cake buffet. Ice cream buffet. Candy buffet. Name it. They have it all there in great quality and taste. I'd definitely go back here again.
The Pantry in Dusit provides world class customer service and ambiance. Their dinner and breakfast provide many dishes to chose from .. there are flavors that are satisfying to my taste buds therefore I say that the pantry to me is really a great place to dine! We Will definitely be back!
I've been here a couple times. Although a limited selection compared to reinvented hotel cafes and new restaurant filled buffets, they're smaller selections offer some standouts.
Thanks to a birthday celebration, I got to try this place after awhile. On the bad side first, desserts are forgettable. Either dry, lacking imagination or nothing special.
However, the appetizers, especially their Grilled Tanigue with capers was delightful. The carrot soup is a must have if ever you'll spot it.
Main course great picks is their beef tenderloin and the potatoes. Normally not too hot with fries or hashbrown. Their version of potato gratin was heaven. The cheese! What cheese did they place in there?
The buffet scene is inching up, fast. This means that the selections are getting bigger, standards higher and rates pricier. With all the hotel buffets gaining ground by the time of writing, here comes the newest child of the buffet family, The Pantry at Dusit Thani Manila. The former buffet restaurant of Dusit Thani, Basix, is severely outdated compared to the newer hotel buffets opening fast in the test of time and could possibly cope with the competition, hence the new renovation and innovative buffet concept of Dusit called the Pantry.
This place acts as a buffet, sit-in cafe, bar and bakery at the same time which is a bit odd compared from the conventional hotel dining setup. The Pantry has the charm of a posh marketplace/grocery store, with the rustic wooden furniture and ceilings with mason jars littered throughout the place. It outright has the feels in grandma's house albeit much brighter.
APPETIZERS AND SALADS - This section is spot on. Various imported cheeses complement the thin breads and crackers. Very impressive. There is a do-it-yourself Thai salad station, something very rare in Manila. And what impresses me the most is the huge pita and dips station. These are my absolute favorites. The scallop appetizer is the hidden gem, firm and moist, these pepper sauteed goodies literally melt in my mouth. Two thumbs up!
PIZZA AND PASTA - The Pizza here is quite impressive despite the small collection with its thin and chewy crust being slightly charred and not too salty, just the way I want it. Pasta is again make-your-own. Excellent.
DIMSUM AND NOODLES - Your standard selection of Chinese tea house favorites. Choices are a small for this station but all are prepared from scratch. (particularly the noodle soup) Hakaw is rather good and plump.
SOUTHEAST ASIAN - Not too much here. Sweet and sour Lapu Lapu is a bit too soft. Fried Seafood noodles are alright. There's also Laksa.
INDIAN -Though not as big as Circles, another hit for me is The Pantry's Indian station. The biryani is very firm, fiery hot and addictive, curries are also spicy and go well with the Indian breads on offer. And the grilled meats (tikka) are very fresh and tender (not dry). Not to miss is the chutney station where you make your own sauce to complement the hot curries.
CARVING - This could probably be the highlight of the buffet for many. The in-house slow roasted lechon is the reason many would make a pilgrimage at this place since whole roast pigs are surprisingly a rarity in many buffets here. I find the lechon a bit too fatty since the hog used is a bit more mature than suckling pig but the skin is very crispy and various sauces are available for your choice. Be sure to arrive here early if you want the lechon since most would make a beeline for the lechon's skin and it empties REAL FAST. Other carving choices include grilled adobo-marinated leg of lamb and thyme crusted roast beef (flavorful compared to other buffets' roast beef). These unique carving items are a notch above other hotel buffets, even at Spiral. Sides include mashed potato, steamed greens, Southern fried chicken and Piri-Piri chicken.
CAKES, PASTRIES AND ICE CREAM - The dessert station here is unlike any other buffets'. Attention to detail is very intricate making these sweet treats hard to eat! The chocolate cake is heavenly, but the portion size could be smaller. Pistachio eclairs are firm and buttery. The churros are hot and fresh and their chocolate tray has some of the best tasting cookies I've ever had. Chocolate chip cookies are dipped in white and milk chocolate. The result is indescribable. Lastly, their in-house ice cream is not to be missed. The salted-caramel ice cream has a very natural flavor (no artificial tasting additives). I highly recommend to save room for this.
DRINKS - This is an extreme rarity in hotel buffets. It's a good thing that there is unlimited coffee, tea and freshly squeezed juices offered in the buffet.
SERVICE - The servers, clad in homey aprons, while very courteous and professional, are a bit too stiff. Hope that they can invoke the charm of grandmother's house to delight the guests.
PRICE - The price of he buffet is comparable to Circles and Heat but given all the quality and freshness of their food. It's a bang in the buck for serious foodies out there.
Overall, The Pantry is very impressive as a buffet alone. If you're in the mood for some drinking, you can order directly from the bar. A great concept from Dusit Thani Manila. Indeed an excellent successor to Basix.
RECOMMENDED FOR: Indian food lovers, "artisanal" gourmands, barkadas, team dinners and family reunions.
RECOMMENDED AGAINST: Intimate dates (the place has a cavernous feel and it can get very busy given it is doubles as a bar, cafe and bakery.) and needless to say, weak eaters.
Celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here. This place is beautiful. The interior is very classy and modern. Although the design is A+, their food selection is very limited. Everything that I tasted were heavenly but I wish they offered more. Also, since it's my boyfriend's birthday, he was given a small complimentary birthday cake with a lit candle. Food is delicious and ambiance is nice.
