The xialongbao was really good! But it was noticeably smaller than the other ones we’ve tried. Would come back for it tho definitely. Sweet & sour pork was also A++. The fried rice left much to be desired, especially with the unusual texture of the chicken? Yeah I’ll pass on this the next time around. Lastly, the drinks were pretty good. I didn’t like the milk tea all too much but my boyfriend told me he liked it. On the other hand, the iced tea took some getting used to (or at least some mixing 🤣). At first, we were so confused because it was as flavorless as regular tea until we realized there was honey in the drink and it was smooth sailing from thereon. I guess my biggest gripe about the restaurant is just the price point. This doesn’t scream weekly date! But more of a fortnight meal 😂

Took advantage of their promo buffet and I was not disappointed! Their dumplings are so tasty. I also love the pineapple shrimp crullers and duck wrap. Their hot and sour soup is also a very good starter. Will definitely return for more.

Lugang Café is perhaps one of your best choices if you would like to indulge in a luxurious Chinese feast.

It was a good thing that Chinese New Year is a non-working holiday in the Philippines, thus, giving us a welcome break in the middle of the work week.

We had to fall in line for 10-15 minutes before we got a table but the waiting time is nothing compared to the food you’ll be having. Super worth the wait!

The food is SO GOOD! I’ve been craving for xiao long bao for weeks but I think I’ll be craving for Lugang in general from now 😩 Ambiance and service is also great!

So excited to eat here again!

LUGANG CAFE
Glorietta 2

Passing by this restaurant which can roughly accommodate 100 customers. Almost full when I came in and was in awe that they still accommodated me.

Since the restaurant is almost full, the servers are kinda busy and they weren't able to attend to my needs fast.

I just ordered PORK AND CENTURY EGG CONGEE which you know I love. Gave it a 4.5/5 rate, hoping they could increase serving size. Bread was also served together with the congee.

I also ordered BUBBLE MILK TEA 4.5/5 which was so creamy but you can still really taste the tea. They could have offer bigger size too haha. Liked the taste and would definitely come back for more milk tea.

Visited this restaurant on a Friday night. Food is tasty and ambiance is nice. I loved their sweet and sour pork and pan fried dumplings. Big servings for the price. Only, we waited 30mins. just to pay our bill. Staff are tired-looking already, I understand. We'll definitely be back here!

This branch used to be our go to place for lunch or dinner during weekends until my partner demanded something unusual to his sophisticated Taiwanese palate.

We tried their Taiwanese Stewed Minced Pork, Three-Cups Chicken, Sweet & Sour Pork, Oyster Omelette with Sweet & Spicy Sauce, Pork Xiao Long Bao, Vegetable & Pork Dumplings, Siomai and more.

The Taiwanese Stewed Minced Pork is their version of our Pork Adobo. The taste is exactly the same. It's delicious as well!

Three Cups Chicken is closer to our chicken adobo. The sauce is made from equal parts of soy sauce, sesame oil and rice wine. It's good too!

Oyster Omelette. Ugggh! I find this disgusting but my partner really love this dish. I didn't like the slippery stuff of oyster when I ate it. It reminds me of something unappetizing.

They have good Xiao Long Bao here! The wrapper is thin. It's tasty and with soup like our favorite Xiao Long Bao in MM. This ranks #2.

Dumplings and Siomai tasted good as well but not really outstanding like Xiao Long Bao.

We tried their Mango Smoothie. Better take a picture when it arrives. It melts easily. We failed on this.

I couldn't recall the rest of what we had. As far as I can recall, only Oyster Omelette turned me off.

Overall, it was a good dining experience. I really love the comfort this restaurant gave me during our visits.
Will definitely come back to try their Iced Snacks! We missed it!

Lugang has reasonable Chinese food good for sharing. The place is well lit and comfortable and the staff is very accommodating. The dishes I would recommend here are the: Cantonese stir-fried noodles with mushrooms, xiao long bao, sweet and sour fish, three cup chicken, taiwanese tofu claypot with pork, and spareribs. I would not recommend the pineapple fried rice - it was not that tasty too sweet, lacking in balance of flavors. The regular fried rice was much more enjoyable.

Great ambiance and food, definitely worthy to come back here. We had our merienda here and ordered shrimp & pork shiao mai, xiao long bao, egg rolls and oyster omelette. The shiao mai was tasty and meaty. The xiao long bao's broth was not oily and it's clear with a right amount of meat inside. The wrapper was not thick, just great because some restos that I've tried offers thick wrappers to their dimsums. Also, we tried the oyster omelette and after eating that I became a fan of that dish and tried creating it at home. The fried egg rolls were okay but you can compare the taste to lumpia shanghai.

The line to get a table took a while like 20 minutes or so (maybe because their xiao long bow is really indemand!). Food is palatable for my chinese taste. The ambiance is hotel-like lobby thingy, though there is a leaking ceiling from the central airconditioning unit. Over-all, the experience was nice, except for the queue of food goers outside the cafe.

Family style serving food -- everything is good for sharing. Portion sizes can feed 3-4 pax each, and the price is okay for the size and taste.

Pork Xialongbao (P248), of course, is the star of the night. Yummy, yummy things. There is a basket of these in every table.

Two unexpectedly good orders we had are the Pineapple and Shrump stuffed in Crullers (290) and Seafood Spinach Soup (P380). Better consume the soup while it's hot.

The usual orders in every Chinese resto are typically okay -- Salt and Pepper Squid (P290) and Golden Fried Rice with egg and shredded pork (P290).

The only letdown of this resto is the dirty floors. Okay, there are lots of diners and I get it that food and drinks sometimes spill but this branch's floor is slippery and begging for good cleaning! I was groping on seats for balance because I was afraid that I will slip. :(

Agree. The food is delicious, even the juices, esp the iced fruit tea. But there were only 2 waiters when we arrived 6:00 pm on a weekday. I even asked the waiter "dalawa lang kayong waiter?". She said "Opo". Needs improvement in cleanliness. The aisle going to the comfort room is very small.            Yes the food is delicious!

Food tastes deliciously authentic taiwanese. All pictured food were winner except for their buttered fried chiken which for me is a bit salty. Could be pricey for a regular dine in experience but is a very good experience if you are to celebrate a special day.
Ambience is very classy, bright and picturesque. Although I think someone should visit their restroom once in awhile to make sure it'll be clean for other customer. Staff were enthusiastically accommodating. Over all it is a must-try restaurant if you want some Asian cuisine experience. 👍

I availed of their "The ulteamate feast". It's 325 PHP net (298 PHP + 10% service charge) per person. This promo is valid from Monday to Friday from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm until October 13 and available at all their branches.
Unlimited: 2 kind of xiao long bao, 2 kind of dumplings, 1 kind of wanton and 1 kind of noodles. The taste was just okay. But it's a good deal for 325 PHP if you're having a craving.

Our team ate here for lunch, the restaurant is not that full, but their service really sucks! We requested for water while waiting for the food, and it really takes time, when our Xiao Long Bao orders arrived we requested for saucers and condiments which made us piss coz we made several follow-ups that we even called the manager already, and made a sarcastic remark "do you want us to just self service?!" And where's the soy sauce? Ginigiling pa ba?!". The food is fine, there's good and there's not so good.

I truly enjoyed dining at Lugang Cafe. Our server was also friendly and courteous. He modelled for us how to eat the xiao long bao as it was our first time to try it. The one with truffle paste was really delicious. I also loved the Sweet Taro soup with sago which was perfect for cold, rainy nights. The Salt and Pepper Squid was also one of the best I have ever had. When ordering the Mango Supreme, make sure to share it with someone as it is huge!

It is a long weekend. It was looking to be every bit a trademark pigoutsunday weekend since last night hahaha.

Anyway after mass today, the family was planning to have lunch at another restaurant truth be told, but ended up in Lugang Cafe instead.

Kind of a blessing in a way because although we had lunch in its branch in SM aura months prior, we cant for the life of us remember what we ate hahaha!

Oh well so it was like our first time again dining here.

What we ordered:

Spicy beef tendon soup P290 - The dish looked so red perhaps from the chili or annato oil. The noodles looked like fettucini. The beef were thinly sliced. The verdant green of bokchoy contrasted beautifully with the generally red dish. It was delicious but so unlike any Chinese dish we had. Beef was so tender and tendons almost melt in your mouth. We loved this.

Pork Xiao long bao P248 - Good.

Sweet and sour pork P290 - Good. Nothing to rave about . So so

Taiwanese Crispy chicken nuggets P190 - reminded the piggery of Serenitea's version hahaha

Fried Pomfret with basil P520 - I loved its crunch. The presentation was nice. The crispy basil were the perfect foil for the paleness of the dish

Taiwanese Salt and Pepper shrrimp P460 - crunchy and a bit spicy. The piggery loved this

Blended Mango sago coconut milk P160 - delicious and quite generous with the mango puree

Mango shake - 81 year old father in law raved about it so it must be good.

Lugang Iced Coffee - P150 , very good ! My son loved it.

Summary :

All in all something refreshingly different for our lunch today. Learned a new trivia too. Did you know that Lugang Cafe is named after an obscure little town in China? Well at least that what the server told us.

Price : My first thought was that it was pricey We averaged around P600 per person with drinks . But then again we ordered like 6 dishes. So bottomline, it was a reasonably priced restaurant

Will the family be coming back anytime soon ? Well their menu is quite extensive so there is a lot of ''unknown territory" still to cover. Perhaps next quarter or when there is a hankering for something Chinese, Lugang Cafe will be top of mind.

We tried Lugang Cafe's unli dim sum and everything was delicious! We ordered 2 different kinds of Xiao Long Bao, Roasted Duck, Salted Egg Shrimp, Vietnamese Spring rolls, Golden fried rice, Minced pork rice. Their soup of the day was also delicious and their iced tea is really refreshing. The interior was nice and the couches were comfortable. However, what annoyed me was the fly that kept on flying around while we were eating. But I guess that's the only problem I had. Price was so so. P588 per person plus tax. So it's a bit expensive but worth it. ☺️

We decided to have lunch here during the long vacation since we were craving for Chinese food. A lot of our friends said that the food tasted good that's why we tried this place.
When the food arrived, some looked sad. It didn't resemble the picture in the menu but the taste was good.
This dish that we liked was the scallion chicken and honey garlic squid.
For dessert, the taro tapioca with shaved ice and condensed milk was our favorite.
Service was a bit slow, we needed to remind the waiters for our orders.
The interior of the restaurant was nice.
The comfort room is not clean.

Note: Late Review

Early dinner with family. Send off dinner for my Uncle before he flies back to Canada.

We chose the set meals as it is good for 4 people. Set B is a mixture of veggies, poultry, tofu, soup, xiao long bao, seafood and fried rice.

Set B.

Pork Xiao Long Bao
Seafood Spinach Soup
Three Cup Chicken
Taiwanese Salt and Pepper Squid
Kung Pao Tofu
String Beans with Minced Pork
Black Pepper Beef Rice

A lil bit of Trivia, my Uncle said that when you are eating at a Chinese Restaurant, they usually serve rice last. First is the soup, then veggies and protein. Protein intake first before carbs. I dunno if there are any health benefits involved. I am too lazy to use Wiki.

Seafood Spinach Soup. Light and refreshing. This is the kind of soup your mom would serve you if you are under the weather. Shredded spinach, tofu, vermicelli noodles and century egg.

Kung Pao Tofu. This is the star of the show. Tofu sautéed with cashew nuts, dried habanero chilies, bell peppers, and shallots. I like how the sweet sauce and how it enhances the flavour of tofu. Cashew nuts! Take away the tofu, me likey cashew!

Three Cup Chicken. This is similar to Adobo sa Bawang. There is a shitload of garlic in this dish which i like. The garlic is cooked perfectly. You would know if its cooked right when its sweet not bitter. The chicken is cooked perfectly, juicy and the flavourful.

Black Pepper Beef Rice. Asians do it best. This dish can be eaten alone. Beef shreds, veggies, white rice sautéed in some Asian magic kung-fu sauce.

I am skipping the rest of the dishes, i dont care much for dimsum and the squid. Dont get me wrong, they are equally good as the other dishes.

The lugang cafe branch here is one of my favorites because of its clean and organized set up. The ambience of the place is very light and cozy, which allows you enjoy your food more. Their food here is also well cooked to the Lugang standards. The honey garlic squid was satisfyingly crispy on the outside and very tender inside. Their xiao long bao, as always, is amazing. There is no doubt that I'll be going back to this place for more than a hundred times because it's a place worth spending every centavo to! Lugang Cafe is indeed one of the best in town. Their Xiao Long Bao is a hit and a steal at the same time. I cannot help but to eat 6 pieces all by myself because it is so good.

Also, I was able to try their Yang Chow and Chicken. They are all good. However, I wasn't able to take a photo of it because my friends devoured them already. Which is okay. Hahaha!!! I will still come back for more XLB.

However, what I just didn't like is the Strawberry Parfait. Well, the serving is really good for sharing but the taste of the Strawberry is too strong. I hope they can make it creamier. But nonetheless, it is already perfect -- strawberry bits and the serving.

I met my nephew for an early lunch in Glorietta. I chose this place because I know that he has a favourite dish here. It was my first time in this branch. I've only been to the one in Megamall. I liked the interiors of this outlet much better. It had a more modern feel and appeared less cluttered than the Megamall branch.

For drinks my nephew had the aloe jelly in honey lemon juice while I had red grape shake. My drink was very refreshing. It had a strong fresh grape flavour. My nephew was not as pleased with his choice. He said it was too sweet.

For starters, we went for our usual orders - pork xiao long bao and garlic pork roll. The xiao long bao was good as expected. Both the meat filling and the soup were tasty. The pork roll was ok. The dish was tasty but I found the sauce to be too thick. I don't remember it being that thick before. I think because of that, it also did not taste as garlicky as before.

For the main course, we went for the house specials and ordered honey garlic squid and spicy clam with Thai sweet basil, the latter being my nephew's favourite. We also ordered golden fried rice with egg and shredded pork to share. The fried rice was yummy and was more than enough for two people. The clams were amazing, according to my nephew. Given that he quickly finished it then it must be true. The squid was a bit of a let down. It was ok but I felt it wasn't the right way to cook squid. I've had honey garlic chicken before and it was awesome. However, with the squid, I don't think the flavour worked. The honey simply drowned out the squid. I barely tasted the squid from the dish.

Overall, it was a good experience. There are areas for improvement and I am confident that my next visit will be an even better one.

All the dishes we ordered were excellent. We started off with the Xiao Long Bao, which, as usual, was quite delicious. We also ordered the Honey Garlic Squid, which was really good as well. The rice was a bit expensive and we ordered a lot of food, so my friend and I decided to share one bowl.

The highlight of my dinner is the Taiwanese Fried Pork Chop. I'm not much of a meat-eater, but I was completely taken by the dish. It was crunchy and flavorful on the outside, but deliciously soft on the inside.

The place was packed with people so it was noisy, and the area under our table was a bit dirty; but overall the place was comfortable. Despite the huge number of customers that night, the staff was able to accommodate us well.

I remember my first time dining at Lugang at their SM MOA branch (not sure if it is still open), my friend treated me to the best selling chicken and it tasted so good! Crisp skin, flavorful meat with a few drops of the sauce, such a delight. Had the chance to dine again this afternoon with family and it is still as good as i remembered. We had the oyster omelette - generous serving of oysters served with sweet chili sauce but i find it that the omelette paired better with the xiao long bao dipping sauce. Sarap! The huge serving of the saucy birthday noodles - full of meat, seafood and vegetables. The kids loved it. The Sour Beef Noodle Soup - was good but the family was not a fan of it. The Xiao Long Bao was hot, savory and had a good meat to wrapper combination. One can easily finish the 8 pieces serving.

Service was quick and efficient. The interiors are beautifully designed. Cleanliness is a 3 out of 5. Can get a bit messy during peak dining hours, was there at aroung 2:00pm and the place was still packed. You can have a nice lunch without breaking the bank. Some of the menu items are suprisingly affordable such as the oyster omelette and Taiwanese porkchops.

Note: Lunch was paid through GCs given as gift.

Lugang Cafe is the Philippine franchise of Beijing-based Bellagio Cafe, a very popular Taiwanese restaurant in Beijing and Shanghai. True enough, the restaurant has been awarded for its delicious, world-class contemporary Taiwanese dishes and stylish interiors by none other than the prestigious Philippine Tatler's 100 Best Restaurant awards from 2011 to 2014. All the handiwork of their team of world-class Chinese chefs that are passionate to serve the very best dishes that Taiwan has to offer.

We were able to enjoy a number of their excellent dishes through their Feast All You Can Promotion, which ends this July 30, 2016, where you can enjoy unlimited dimsum and more for only Php 588+! Although they do seem to regularly offer this promo, it's not a certainty so I do recommend you take the opportunity now.

Visited this place more than once even though the place is a bit pricey. Upon entering the place, you'll notice the beautiful ambiance of the place, which is well lit by its huge and beautiful chandeliers. We didn't wait long to be seated. We ordered ala carte items during most of our visits to this restaurant, and we tried their "feast-all-you-can" promo as well. Everything about this place just makes you want to come back for more. The food is amazing, although serving is pretty small for the amount you're about to pay. Our favorites are the pepper beef with button mushrooms, xiao long bao, angled loofah with shrimp xiao long bao, and even the pork and shrimp shaomai. I also liked their golden fried rice with egg. Their Taiwanese fried porkchop was okay, although I think it could be better. Not a fan of the oyster pancake (although it's a best seller, but this can be just me) and the Taiwanese omelet with preserved turnip bits.
To sum up:
1. Delicious food
2. A bit pricey
3. Kinda small serving
4. Nice and friendly staff
5. Amazing ambiance

Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao - I love that the wrapper is really thin making the filling the star of this dish. I hate it when I eat dimsum, and all I could taste is the wrapper. I let it set for a while because I don’t want the hot soup to burn my tongue. We were all given a dip which is apparently for this. I tasted it before the Xiao Long Bao was served, and my face crumpled because it was too sour. But when I dipped the Xiao Long Bao in it (well, I actually sipped it along with the soup), it all made sense! The filling is very tasty and leaves that “melts in your mouth” sensation. It’s one of the best I have ever tried.

Aweto Flower, Mushroom and Jellyfish - I liked it! I loved the different degrees of chewiness of whatever was put on this dish. The sauce also has that perfect sweet, sour and tangy combination. Although I got a bit confused because our receipt says that what we had was “Abalone, Mushroom and Jellyfish”. I don’t know which is which. Good thing I am such an adventurous eater so I didn’t really mind.

The Xiao Long bao with crab is the best but all the others are just the same with all other chinese/taiwanese restaurants I've been to. Iced green tea latte is just right though it's really pricey. Fresh off our Taiwan trip, me and my wife Diane Coles-Cupon wanted to look for a place that could transport us back to the night markets that we fell in love with back in Taipei. Lugang appeared in the crosshairs after a short Zomato browse. It's close, it's not lunchtime so there'll be tables available... It's a go.

We got one of their Xiao long bao variants, the loofah and shrimp soup dumpling which tasted not too differently from the ones served by Din Tai Fung (at the Taipei 101 mall). The vinegar and ginger dipping sauce was also very strong and complemented the dumplings well.

The rice noodles we ordered wasn't your usual pansit bihon. It wasn't dry, was very flavorful (and not just with soy sauce) and had a lot of minced veggies and meat. Since we were still on an eggplant high, we also got the fried eggplant with basil in sweet and sour sauce. We asked the waiter to make it spicy, and spice it up they did. It's probably my favorite dish of 2015, and we proceeded to SM supermarket afterwards to buy ingredients and decode how the dish is made. We got close but perhaps we need to go back and try it again. Another excuse to visit the place. Why not.

It didn't exactly bring Taiwan to our plates, but we did discover something worth exploring. That's how treasures are found. :D

Celebrated my birthday for two consecutive years already because I love the food and I love the service! My favorites would be the Pork Xiao Long Bao, Shrimp and Pork Shiao Mai, Vegetable Pork dumplings, Crabmeat and Corn Soup, Lugang Birthday Noodles (should always get this when it's your birthday; very good and worth your money), Three Cup Chicken! We ordered a lot more and it's all worth it! They even gave me a birthday cake and everything was just perfect! Won't mind coming back here for my birthday again next year.

I love the swanky interiors of this branch - almost as much as their newly-renovated branch in SM Aura. My family and I love going to Lugang because of their impressive menus - for awesome, diverse food offerings, and cool, refreshing drinks that can be meals or snacks on their own.

With how many times I've been here, let me tell you about those things we just HAVE to order every time (along with two-three new dishes!).

Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao. Now this is what put Lugang on the local Foodie map. In true Taiwanese fashion, you can watch their skillful cooks prepare hundreds of perfect little dumplings. This is a perfect bite - use both chopsticks and the spoon, please - take a tiny bite and sip the broth - and put that perfect, light porky goodness in your mouth in one go!

Garlic Pork Roll. My first bite of this, specifically the sauce, was so strong and pungent that I thought I would die. However... surprisingly, it mellowed and had this amazing, tangy, garlicky flavor that totally enhanced the thin slice of pork that was used as a wrapper. You'll hate me for recommending it at first, then you'll find yourself ordering another serving of this.

Chicken with Scallions and Ginger Oil. This may be a bit pricey, but trust me, it's worth every peso. Reminiscent of Hainanese Chicken, but made fresh and light with the glorious mound of scallions. I don't normally order anything with the word "ginger" already - too strong - but this ginger oil is subtle and refreshing.

Kung Pao Chicken/Tofu. I have a weak spot for crunchy veggies, cashews, and the perfect mildy spicy, tangy, sweet sauce that just hits all the notes you need.

Pineapple Fried Rice. So I first had this dish in Phuket, and that was the absolute best, since I had it along Surin beach, accompanied by fresh seafood and the perfect curries. Hence, I was hesitant to even try any other Pineapple Fried Rice. To my delight, aside from the drama brought when it's served, Lugang's version comes pretty close.

So stop watching you weights and guarding your budget. Explore all the possibilities of palate-pleasing that Lugang has to offer!

Lugang wasn't so bad actually. I'll keep this short cause it wasn't special nor was it a horrible experience. The xiao long bao was really good, but I've had better.

Though a little bit pricey, it's a perfect place to celebrate special occasions considering it has great food, friendly staffs and cozy ambiance. I hope you can add group packages in your menu.

Lugang Café specializes in Taiwanese cuisine. I highly recommend the xiao long bao here. Aside from the xiao long bao, the three cups chicken, stewed pork and wasabi mayo prawns are also good. The ice shavings here are popular choices when it comes to dessert.

I really like this restaurant this is good for a big group who wants to enjoy a big hearty
meal. If you are there and you want a decent conversation that's probably not the right place to do so. Food is great and it's affordable and the service is great too.

Lugang Cafe is considered one of the best and most popular restaurants serving great Taiwanese cuisine. I will never get tired of their famous Xiao Long Bao. Aside from the Xiao Long Bao, other notable and highly recommended dishes are the following: Three-Cup Chicken, Taiwanese Stewed Pork, Steamed Fresh Clams with Silk Melon, Fish Head Steamed w/ Pickled Red Peppers, Wasabi Mayo Prawns, Seafood Spinach Soup and of course my favorite Pineapple Fried Rice. I also highly recommend the shaved ice desserts here. My favor shaved ice flavors are peanut and mango.

I love all Lugang Cafe interiors. Very fancy-schmancy and really a perfect restaurant for a date night!

We went for something light this time: Sweet and Sour Fish and Golden Fried Rice with Shredded Pork. If it's your first time here, try their  renowned Xiao Long Bao! :)

So happy that they finally opened in Makati. Now I don't have to go all the way to
Greenhills to eat the best Xiao Long Bao!

Be warned, you might end up smelling like the food when you leave the restaurant.

They have better interiors in Greenhills, and I think the food quality is still slightly better there as well. But the makati one is convenient and the quality has been improving.

Try: Xiao Long Bao, String beans with minced pork or salted egg

I couldn’t forget my first taste of their Milk Tea at their Mall of Asia branch. It was one of the best milk teas I’ve tasted. But this one somehow erased that memory. The mix was still good but the pearls were a bit undercooked. Its center was a bit hard. I prefer pearls that are cooked all the way through yet not that soft, and still possessing that not-so-hard consistency.

Their Xiao Long Baos were good. Good soup on the inside. It would be best to dip it in the sauce after sipping some of that soup up. I still prefer the ones from Crystal Jade though.

I can eat this plate of Taiwanese Crispy Chicken Nuggets all by myself. I really can! It’s good. It’s fried well yet not being oily. Good flavor on this one too. Though some don’t like eating the leaves, I eat them. They’re good!

I was expecting the Black Pepper Beef Fried Rice to be somewhat spicy but it was just flavorful. With strips of beef that were tender, one could have this as a meal on its own.

And their Taiwanese Salt and Pepper Squid was another not-so-oily dish that was seasoned well. Good pair to the flavorful rice.

It might look like the Stir-fried String Beans with Minced Pork is overcooked but it was cooked just right. The string beans still had this crunch effect. There are hidden peppers so one should watch out for those when eating this dish.

The MOST MEMORABLE thing about Lugang Cafe are the unique drinks and desserts selection. It's not often that one goes to a Chinese/Taiwanese restaurant and finds a separate menu for the drinks, the desserts, and the rest of the food. So if you're planning to come here for a meal, definitely take a glance over the drinks and desserts menu FIRST.

The restaurant is spacious and feels modern. The restaurant wasn't too crowded (lunch on a weekday) but had enough patrons to provide a 'frequented' feel to the restaurant. Overall, it was relaxing and pleasant.

I had the opportunity to try to the Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao, the 1/2 Crispy Chicken, the Roasted Meat Combination, the Oyster Omelette, the Stir-Fried Beef with Chinese Crullers, the Taiwanese Fried Bean Curd, Fried Rice with Taiwanese Sausage, the Crabmeat and Corn Soup, and the Dong Bo Pork Belly. For a drink, I tried their Cantonese Iced Lemon Tea and was able to try the taro tapioca and condensed milk on shaved ice as well as the mango supreme.

The main dishes themselves, while tasting well-made and with quality, are standard cuisines that one can find in a host of other Chinese/Taiwanese restaurants throughout the area. I have to emphasize though that there is a distinct quality to their food that is not as easily found elsewhere, but it was really the drinks and desserts that caught my attention simply because it's not everyday you find non-alcoholic beverages with a Chinese/Taiwanese feel presented in a place other than Bubble Tea chains.

At the end of the day, Lugang Cafe can satisfy your cravings for QUALITY Taiwanese/Chinese cuisine. If I go back for another meal in the future, I will definitely try some of the other selections on their drink menu. Their desserts are simple and resemble halo-halo deviations, but maybe it's because of the finely shaved ice, it works. However, this wouldn't be my choice restaurant to go to with a big party. A party of 4 would be best, 6 at most. More than that and the portions for each dish becomes too little to be shared well.

Me and my officemates dined here last year. We got their "buffet" meal and it was all worth it.

The dimsums are superb. I loved the xiao long bao which has at least 4 varieties (meat, spinach etc). The chicken cashew was also good as well as the sweet and sour dishes. The buffet by the way is applicable on the dimsums. We got puffs, siomais and xiao long baos

It is advisable to dine here on an empty stomach if you will avail the buffet.

The best place to get the perfect shao long pao in the city! With modern decor one wouldn't think that this is a taiwanese restaurant. They serve traditional taiwanese dishes that are good for sharing and of course your stay wouldn't be complete if you don't order their shao long pao. They also have an array of coffee drinks to choose from :)

We officially love this branch better than the Greenhills one... Plus points because the staff was so accomodating, patient and they knew their food.

Despite the mad lubch rush on a pay day weekend, they showed grace under pressure.

The foid, as always, wad extra yum!

For first timers, you must try:
- Spinach and tofu soup
- Xiao Long Bao in pork, veggie with truffle oil, and crab roe (aligue people!)
- For sweet tooth cravings, the chocolate filled dumpling is right for you...
- For those that love heat, have the black pepper beef and rice, and the prawns deep ftied in chili.

They offer the normal Kung Pao but be adventurous!

For coffee fans, try the Arabic Coffee ;)

Kain!

From the moment you take a step into Lugang Cafe you will see why its a cut above any other asian food chain. The decor, the service and the ambience are all very classy. We ordered a variety of dishes, kung pao chicken, pork pancakes, oat cereal prawns and the vietnamese spring rolls - I enjoyed the pork pancakes the best... imagine peking duck pancakes just with stir-fried pork. The servings are very generous and the prices reasonable considering the high quality of food and service on offer! Staff are very attentive and the food comes out quick! So if you love asian food with a lot of variety and class on the side come down to Lugang Cafe!
