Just loved the food and so far have never gone wrong with the wine the 3 occessions we had dinner there. Thanks Marivic for sharing the place
Jamoneria to the max! We had the tasting portions of ten kinds of ham. So yummmmm! We also had their salad, croquetas and pianono to die for! Love the place as well. Nothing loud about it.
First and foremost, this place is all about the food and the wine. The knowledgeable and attentive proprietor/staff makes for an even richer experience. Kudos!
The perfect place to unwind and have great conversation. Wine selection is really good and the food is superb. Will definitely come back.
The wine price is a great bargain.
Amazing selection of wines from all over the world. The food menu is quite limited though. It is a cozy place which is great for catching up with friends.
Great place, love how the restaurant is divided into several areas so it’s quite private and it’s a quiet place to hang out and have good wine. We went for the jamon tasting with wine pairing and the premium Ibérico meats were excellent 👌👌👌
Best tapas and wine place in the metro. Only the best jamon, bacalao, meats in this place! People who say otherwise don’t know authentic Spanish food! The staff is also the best!
What more can I say about this place. It’s a family friendly place with amazing food and wine!! Oh the wine!! The steaks are fantastic and only a few establishments can match and equal its quality and generous servings. See you again soon Txanton, keep it up!!
Had a friends engagement party here. Appetizers were great, staff was attentive and the wine was flowing! On the expensive side but worth it for a night out
Great place for jamon, iberico pork and wine! My fave jamon is the pedroches. The Secreto Iberico is TDF. Best pork I've ever tasted. 😋 They have a really good selection of Spanish wines
First and foremost, you don’t come here to skimp. Rather you enter through the doors of Txanton expecting to be treated, to be indulged, and to be immersed.
Admittedly, the food and wines are the stars here: for food always get their Jamon Iberico (my favorites are Extremadura and Pedroches),
Gambas Al Ajillo (perfectly cooked, plump, sweet), Chorizo Picante a la brasa, and their immaculate Wagyu rib cap (best piece of steak in Metro Manila, hands down!). I was a bit adventurous during my last two visits and tried some of their seafood dishes (i.e. Sopa De Pescado and Txipirones Rellenos) and I was pleasantly surprised as both were executed quite well. For wines, well you’re spoiled to pick from their collection of excellent French and Spanish wines; I’d always go for their Ribera del Duero reds (particularly Valbuena 5 años ‘08, ‘09, and ‘10).
But going back, it’s always about the service for me. Besay, Marjon, and the rest of the team assure that every visit is a special one. They are knowledgeable, they are pleasant, and they are accommodative. As the saying goes, “food without great service is just another meal.”
We had gambas al ajillo, chorizo picante, the jamon tasting experience, and wagyu rib cap with a 2009 Pol Roger 🍾🥂and a 2009 Vega Sicilia Valbuena. 🍷It was amazing! 😃Perfect place for dates.
My first visit to Txanton unexpectedly became somewhat an educational experience! I wouldn't say the menu has limited food selection, but rather a specially crafted one that allows you to explore your taste buds with jamon/cold cuts and an impressive selection of wines and chocolates present. A first few steps into the place may send off some level of exclusivity (niche and specialization),but the friendly and attentive staff will make you feel at home in no time. A good place for those starting their journey into the world of wines.
First of all I don't like Jamon or cold cuts in general but I love wine so I really went here for the wine. To my surprise, i liked their Jamon! :) we tried their Jamon Experience Tasting (1st & last photo) 6 different kinds of jamon and each paired with a glass of wine! The combination of the jamon and wine was superb!!! My favorites---1.iberico 2.iberico bellota pedroches
3.iberico bellota jabugo.. their service was also great.. servers were kind and they educated us too :) ambiance was nice but I guess we were lucky that we went on a Thursday :) Oh and they gave free appetizers --- dip was so good that I bought some to bring home (3rd photo).. by the way we also tried their huevos rotos con jamon and its delicious as well (2nd photo) :) giving this a very high rating and I'm planning to visit them again soon.. :) price is worth it --- understandable:)
Downside: Sign not visible on the building itself plus chairs not so cozy but I still love it there :)
Superb jamon experience. I learnt a lot about how they are made, about the differences between the different jamons thanks to a very well trained staff.
Ambiance is superb as well while seats are not really comfy.
Make sure to reserve ahead of time to have a "real" table with real seats.
They have an impressive collection of Spanish wines (of course), and their waiters are also knowledgeable about what to serve and what to pick.
Good ambiance, reasonably priced wine and food is great too. Will definitely go back to this place. Service is also excellent, good overall resto
We really enjoyed our time here. We also appreciated the educational aspect about the different types of jamon and the background on the Iberico pig. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. The ambience is cozy and there only about 12 seats available at the communal table. It was indeed a remarkable gastronomic and educational experience.
We tried the Jamon Experience Tasting. We recommend this to get a feel of the full spectrum of jamon on their menu. The servings are enough for sharing.
Gran Reserva and Iberico: Simpler tastes than the Bellota but delicious nevertheless. [He said]: The reserva is the type of jamon you can eat over and over again while the Bellota is good for small tasting sessions like these.
Iberico Bellota Guijelo: We liked this the least and preferred the non-Bellota jamon over this. It wasn't that remarkable.
Iberico Bellota Extramadura: It's better than Guijelo but didn't stand out that much to me.
Iberico Bellota Pedroches: This is my personal favorite. I loved the long finish on the palate and the sweeter taste.
Iberico Bellota Jabugo: He preferred this the most. It has the most complex taste and has different flavors which ends with a kick. I liked this too but I preferred the Pedroches more.
Jamon with eggs: Loved, loved, loved this dish!! It's like heaven in the mouth. Its complexity is astounding given that it seems like a simple dish of fried potatoes, eggs and iberico jamon. Highly recommended! Will surely go back for this.
Enjoyed my time here. Food selection was not extensive but that's okay because this place is really for you to enjoy the wine and tapas. The place is divided into sections where friends and groups can enjoy their time together. Servers know a lot about the food and wine choices which is a plus. My own concern in this place is the parking situation. Also better to make reservation prior.
