You have many choices. You can choose from Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, American, and western food. If you’re on a diet they have salad bar. And the food is excellent. The staff are very accommodating. They will ask you from time to time, if you need anything. One of the best breakfast buffet I’ve tried.
The omelette was really good. My cousin who worked as HR at CGGH, Kate, recommended it for me, and it's a perf place for meetings. Also good wifi connection. I'll try their other dish as well as their cinnamon bark.
Spice Cafe’s unique three-course plated menu gave our training session a boost today.
It was Filipino themed, which started with a well-curated and spiced, Eggplant Ensalada. This meal was quickly followed with a simple yet endearing solo bowl of Tinola, done modern style.
Our main dish was the savory and sweet marination of fatty Pinoy Liempo, paired with enough serving of classic Pinakbet and plain rice.
On dessert, it was a sweet piece of Leche Flan with side dried, Fruit Cocktail.
Thank you, Spice Cafe for your creativity!
one of the best buffet restaurant I ever had! the food was so amazing! the ambiance are relaxing, and their staffs was really accomodating ( the moment you look on something, or you want something, they will be there even you don't call them! haha)
Highly recommended 💯 The food is very good and tasty
Friendly and very accomodating staffs.
God bless 😊
Foods are really amazing. They have different dishes. They have Filipino, American, Japan, and many more. I have tried everything but overall it was a nice food experience. #SpiceCafe #GanagNgRestDays

Thanks for the grandest breakfast during our grand staycation! You surely did fillmy hungry byaheros tummy! Kudos and more power!

Fiestas are so deeply ingrained in Filipino culture. It is a time when family and friends can come together over good food to celebrate and spend time together. It is also a time that we city slickers anticipate, as these occasions are usually the only times we get to taste the much-vaunted heirloom recipes of our lolas and titas.
They say Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Though it does not apply to me coz I'm not a breakfast person. I only have coffee in the morning and I'm good. But times like this when there's a given chance, I could always adjust to situations and get my cup of coffee a good pair.
Here in Spice Cafe, you'll find your usual morning Filipino breakfast and more all in one. I was literally very happy that most of the choices are my favorites!
Let's start with choices of Freshly baked breads. A toaster on the side is ready to preheat them. Small Pancakes, Waffle and French Toast are another option. Strawberry, Pineapple, and a Watermelon spread is available for all these. Of course, syrup and butter is present and an all time fave.
Another favorite of mine is Arrozcaldo. Beside it is Sinampalukang Manok soup to warm your stomach. You could never go wrong getting the plain rice or Aligue rice because the choices of Daing na Bangus, Crispy Pusit, Danggit, Vigan Longganisa, Tapa, Tinapa or Tocino with a bottle of Spicy Vinegar plus Sausages, Eggs (poached, fried or boiled they have it!!! ) Wow di ba, I'm sure you'll love it as much as I did.
If Noodles is your thing then choose from Egg, Hofan, Vermicelli or Canton.
On the other hand, Different Pizza flavors can be enjoyed too.
If you're still not yet stuffed then Champorado, Ginataang Mais, Chix Shawarma, Beef Stew Curry are also readily prepared.
Pinoys should really be glad to start their daily Breakfast here. Pinoy's best foods are put all together in one place is definitely a Feast!

Woke up early for this! We were invited for a breakfast buffet at Spice Cafe. Located at the 7F of City Garden Grand Hotel Makati.
What’s different about this? It’s a Filipino buffet but there are also a lot of other cuisines available. Super wide spread of food options to choose from.
It only costs 800 pesos net per person. Super sulit. Their Danggit is the most sought after. OFWs or Filipinos craving for good filipino food should definitely visit Spice Cafe.
I like this place because of the filipino delicacies they offer and they have a station that cooks hotdogs, ham, hashbrown and sausages ❤️
Wait there’s more. The buffet is extended til 11:30am.

What a lovely morning we spent at this buffet in City Garden Grand Hotel Makati! The view from the 7th floor with the pleasant background music is perfect to start the day right. Pro tip: you can get a good insta-shot if you sit by the chairs near the window. *wink*. Pastries are served in baskets which gives you that rustic feeling. Lots of toppings are available which you can choose according to your liking. They also offer cereals and other typical pinoy food like bibingka and biko.
The breakfast buffet Does not disappoint. It rivals the five star hotels That I have been To and frequent. my favorites and top of mind is the crispy squid and the bacon.
The friendly staff and the awesome service complement the wide array of choices that you have here.
For 800 pesos The breakfast selection is really worth every buck.
Will definitely recommend to family and friends.
According to John Gunther “All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast.” And true enough for many of us breakfast is widely accepted as the most important meal of the day as it fuels the activities that lies in the day ahead. Moreover, breakfast should nothing but put a smile on our faces whether be it a light meal or full-on heavy one.
For Php800, you get a very good breakfast buffet spread in The Spice Cafe.
Honestly there are some hits and misses so best to try a little of each dishes that you are interested in.
Some pointers when eating breakfast buffet in Spice Cafe...
1. The basic Pinoy breakfast food are usually good. I liked the dangit, Champorado, lugaw, chicken adobo, daing etc.
2. Go for the Carving Station! The Lechon belly is very good, just make sure you get the crispy skin and less fatty portions.
3. The bacon are crispy! One of the things you have to load up.
4. Don't forget the salad station. They had a Shrimp Salad and a Sashimi grade Tuna Salad. Mix the shrimp salad with some mayo dressing.
5. Hold off on the bread. Some pieces are too big. You'll get full right away.
6. The leche flan was good but I didn't quite like the maja Blanca. The ginataang mais was also good.
Again, be cautious on what you are getting. When in doubt, just get a small serving for tasting.
But overall, Spice Cafe is a pretty good deal especially for weekend/holiday brunch when the breakfast buffet is open til 1130pm!
breakfast is the most important meal of the day - make it a buffet and all your worries will flutter away.
#Makatizen if you’re in the Makati Ave. area, visit the #SpiceCafe 7F of the City Garden Grand Hotel Makati and enjoy a #Filipiniana breakfast buffet, every Sundays, at 800php per person (net) walk-in or in-house diners are welcome to stuff yourselves goood from 6:00-11:30AM.
what i loved the most was having deep-fried rolled lechon belly as part of their offerings for BFAST! the skin crackled, the meat so flavorful and the fat-sinfully good! i was amazed by their bread selections “panaderia style”. they had spanish bread, ensaymada, cassava cakes, pan de sal and pan de regla (apart from their rye, pancakes, frech toast and waffles). there too was danggit, vigan longannisa, tocino, daing, laing, arroz caldo, champorado and and ADOBO! filipino rice cakes and turon, along w/ leche flan, mango sao and fruit salad were all there to wrap up your appetite for all things Pinoy Bfast Eats.
if in the event, you’ve had your fair share of Filipiniana cuisine, then have your seconds or thirds w/ their continental and asian set/menu in the buff area to complete your dining experience.
We stayed at the hotel and chose to have breakfast at the Spice Cafe, although it wasn’t part of KHT package. For P800, it was a fair deal. The variety of cuisines and choice was exhaustive.
The courtesy of the staff is noteworthy! Great conversationists and attentive to your needs.
Made for a great experience!
Went here for my boyfriend and I’s second anniversary last Jan 7, 2019. It’s well priced and they have big servings, very worth it unlike some fine dining places. Food was nice too, although some dishes took a bit longer before they were served and we had to follow up twice on some.
Servers were polite and attentive though. Place was very easy to find, had a bit of trouble with parking though given its location. Regarding ambience, it was really quiet so it’s good for when you’re on a date. Overall, a good experience.

📍 The Spice Cafe is at 7th floor of City Garden Grand Hotel. My boyfriend and I decided to just celebrate our christmas in the city and do bar hop but it became restaurant hopping 😊 For the love of foods ❤
FOOD : EVERYTHING we ordered is delicious.
Baby Back Ribs 💯 must try! It was perfect for me ❤
Grilled Chicken Breast 💯 According to boyfie, this is one of his fave meal now. He finds the combination of grilled chicken with a mustard dip perfect!
Both entree have a side dish. We chose buttered vegetables and just a plain rice
Nigiri Salmon taste good too. They are offering wide array of japanese foods. However, we are not fan of raw foods, so we take on dish at a time. 😁
Japanese Cake 💯💯💯 THIS IS MY NEW FAVE CAKE ! 💓 Soft, and you will really appreciate the mangoes on top! NOT TOO SWEET. Perfect 💓
SERVICE - 3/5
We reserved through EATIGO and didnt dressed fancy so we thought that might be the reason why they are not attentive to us. We observed that servers are attentive to the other table near us. 😨 My boyfriend and I working at Hotel and Restaurants too, and we are not like that. 😧 Since I was able to dine with discounted rates, tip will surely be given to the servers, we always did 😨 thats is why we are disappointed. Feels like "Namimili sila ng guest"
AMBIANCE - Cool 💯 city view. Smells good. Spacious.
VALUE FOR MONEY - Since this is located inside of the hotel, expect that it was a bit pricey. But the food is 💯 good so it is worth the price
Overall it will be rated as 5 if the service we receive is great.
We will definitely comeback to try other menu specially the japanese cuisines. Hope that service will improve with our next visit.
Thank you!
We ordered:
Caesar Salad (with additional grilled shrimps)
Fettucine Alfredo
Margherita Pizza
Supremo Pizza
I loved them all. My personal favorite is their Supremo, was so meaty and mouth watering. I also like the creaminess of their Fettucine Alfredo. The salad was fresh and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. This place has a lot of good memories and their good food will always remind me of it.

We had our chance to dine in at Spice Cafe - City Grand Hotel Makati last December 24-25, 2017 with my family. We spent our Christmas Eve there, and had our buffet breakfast the next day.
Location: Makati, walking distance near Century City Mall, less than 5-minute drive to Rockwell Mall
Parking: The hotel itself has a valet service for those who are checked-in and who will dine in at the restaurant. For those who intend not to do the valet service, the parking area is near Neptune St. (where Shakeys, Hapchan and Northpark are situated). There is a security guard at the entrance of the parking area, however, not all the time.
Ambience: Spice Cafe can cater up to more than 100 persons. They will politely ask if you are checked-in, or if you just want to dine in by yourself. Lighting is just enough to compliment the natural sunlight. Airconditioning is good! Doesn't smell like grilled or heated food.
Food: What's in it for guests? Food is for EVERYBODY! From kids to elderly, from common people to the elites. Breakfast buffet: Cereals, assorted cheese, fruits in season, assorted bread, salad bar, Japanese station (wow, in the morning), the breakfast carbs (pancakes, waffles and french toast), egg station, protein station (ham, bacon).
Waiters are friendly and willing to assist you and deliver your food. Coffee and hot chocolate are available upon request and is part of the breakfast buffet.
Best breakfast buffet. Huge variety of foods, and always refilled. Worth every penny. Good service and view as well. Place is very accessible. Will definitely go back. 👍🏻
Spice Cafe offers various dishes from various cuisines and on the day I visited, I got to try their Japanese cuisine. We had sashimi, maki, tempura, ramen, and many more. Everyone loves Japanese food nowadays. It's one of the most popular cuisines in the country which is why there are so many Japanese restaurants coming and going. I wouldn't say this cuisine is Spice Cafe's specialty but if you're in the restaurant and you're craving for some Japanese food, it's worth trying.
The makis were really good. I didn't have much but I did like the ones I tasted. They were very flavorful and didn't have that "umay" factor even after a few pieces. The tempura was also quite the deal. It was big and had the perfect ratio of batter to shrimp. Even without dipping it in sauce, I loved it.
The ramens were so-so. Although, I'm saying this because I already had the best ramen in the metro so my expectations for the dish are already quite high. They created different flavors with Asian twists into them which gives you more options to choose from. They have Laksa, La Paz Batchoy, Pho Bac, and many more.
We stayed overnight at City Garden Grand Hotel. What I love most in having a staycation is to have a good breakfast. I can say that Spice Café has one of the best buffet breakfast I have tried so far here in the metro. Lots of choices to choose from Filipino, Continental to American breakfast. I highly recommend Spice Cafe for your best breakfast experience.
And if you are looking for a fun and exciting night during weekend and you’re a fan of 70s and 80s music, Spice Café opens their door every Friday and Saturday from 7PM-12MN. For only P698, you’ll experience the live music performance from of Big Bash Band, unlimited drinks (alcoholic/non) and unlimited pica-pica.
Spice Café is located at the 7th floor of City Garden Grand Hotel in Makati.
Spice Cafe is setting in a 4 star City Garden Grand Hotel located in bustling city of Makati. We visited the cafe during Friday evening- it has a cozy place, a live band to entertain you while having your dinner and great service.
A must try: Baby Back Ribs
The place is situated near Makati ave which is a busy street when spent on weekdays. Lucky to reserve and dine here with the family on Sunday Lunch.
Parking is so narrow and very difficult to maneuver which is on an upward slope with tight turns (need to do reverse on an uphill state).. Going to the restaurant from parking will get you to comfort room first? before the restaurant itself. Upon seated at around 12noon, many waiters are still cleaning up tables from the recently finished breakfast buffet (ends at 1130am) which is not the best scene to see and to relax. - which made my rating not perfect.
The food menu selection is great from japanese cuisines, asian and western. Ordered different choices and was impressed with my order of steak and eggs... The porterhouse steak was perfectly marbled with enough fat to make every bite soft and flavorful.. I didn't like the hashbrown.. probably would be best if there's an option to go with rice or mashed potato... the rest of the group ordered fillet mignon, bagnet - and all tastes good.. and for our desserts, the well designed blueberry cheesecake and decadent tiramisu..
Overall with over 4.5 of 5 rating with a combination of good food and great customer service.
Despite the heavy rains and me getting wet, visiting Spice Café is worth a try. I am quite ecstatic at the moment because the Café itself is located at the prestige hotel of City Garden Hotels but unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to see the view from the top deck which is a bar and restaurant with an awesome view of Makati CBD. Anyways, Spice Café is still something to look forward to as they are launching new menu items and cocktail drink offerings in the coming weeks. They also thought of having to set up a band coz when the Bar at the top deck gets full, Spice Café may be an overflow room since they can accommodate even more people.
Food: The theme on that day is Asian but Japanese mostly. The price range is up to 1.8k for 2 persons but that still depends on the ala carte menu or buffet options you will choose. Some of the samples I tried were the Chicken Katsu, Shrimp tempura, Yakisoba, Sashimi and Laksa. The Chicken Katsu was my fave. I love the flavorful and tender meat and the crunchy texture. Yakisoba is also good but kind of reminds me of our local Pancit Canton. The Sashimi I got was served fresh not like the others who didn't have the same and there were only a few Maki's left but luckily I was able to try the cheese Maki. I thought it was a bit salty because the cheese is quite generous on the inside that is why it felt imbalanced. The Tempura got a nice crunch to it but I think the batter was too much I can't find the prawns. The Laksa served which is the only one not Japanese from the dishes I tried, had a different twist to it as the chef infused some Pinoy touch but most of us weren't able to distinguish the real Laksa.
On a side note, the savior was the Mango Cheesecake dessert. It is fairly dense and not too soft. I liked that the ripe mango gives a hint of sweetness to it and not the artificial sugar. I also liked the chocolate drink I had which I think is Milo? I had an iced cappuccino too at first but I did hope for more caffeine kick.
In all honestly, the food were just okay and they just have to improve on the flavors and a clear vision of what they are serving as to not confuse the customers but what i guess they really need to improve on is their service. I don't know if they are lacking staff or the staff were not just too attentive. Overall, I still appreciate their efforts - the gloomy weather appeared to have affected the restaurant's outlook at the moment but I hope not.

It was a gloomy day but I still went to the spice cafe to try their Japanese Cuisine. We tried
Sashimi. it was nicely cut and it's not that fresh maybe it was served ahead of time.
Yakisoba. doesn't look presentable and its a bit salty for me.
Shrimp Tempura. the shrimp are huge and it's not just the batter. It's not overcooked.
Chicken Yakitori. It supposed to taste like smokey but nothing special. it's sweet and sour taste for me. the meat is overcooked because It's not that tender.
Chicken Katsu. It's very crispy, the meat is tender.
California Maki andTempura Maki. It tastes like the sushi I'm buying from the grocery store. nothing special
Seafood Kaffier. The flat noodles are good, the broth is very flavorful and seafood taste.
Laksa. I was expecting a Laksa with coconut milk, it's a fusion of Filipino and Malaysian broth.
What I like was the Mango Cheesecake, the cake itself is very soft and very cheesecake.
No gloomy weather can stop me from eating, traveled Fairview to Makati. I was invited by Zomato PH to try their new cuisine. Spice Cafe is adding Japanese Cuisine to their menu. It is located at 7th floor of City Garden Grand Hotel. The place is large and spacious, I think it can accommodate around 60 to 80pax. The staffs are very approachable too.
Nestled right at the very heart of the throbbing and upbeat Poblacion district in Makati (right inside City Garden Grand Hotel) is a restaurant that represents the very cosmopolitan essence of the locale. Spice Cafe is like when a Ramen House, an American Bistro an Italian Pasta Bar and a Pinoy Eatery decided to have a restaurant love child and partially name it after a 90's All Girl Pop Group. It would be easier for me to tell you what they don't serve than what they serve, to put it simply, Spice Cafe tries to be the cultural one stop shop of restaurants this side of the Metro.
I have been privileged to taste their Asian set and although I was not blown away, I was quite satisfied with what I tasted. I recommend you try the following:
1.) Teriyaki Chicken - Tender, moist and seeping with soy infused flavor, you can't go wrong with this dish. This is a definite crowd pleaser no matter which part of the world you come from.
2.) The Noodles - You get to pick you poison, whether its Laksa, Ramen or La Paz Batchoy each soup is executed with good craftsmanship, capturing the bold hints that made the Asian broths distinct from one another, yet retaining the subtle nuances of the broths they were boiled from (seafood, poultry, pork or beef). Though good, the Ramen needs a little bit of work, the Laksa though was superb.
3.) Tempura- Tender and full of flavor in the inside yet crunchy in the outside (even when cold), each bit of their rendition of the Japanese staple is an interplay of contrasting textures in your mouth (I'm not complaining!)
The trip was definitely well worth it, and there's definitely a reason for me to come back and try the dishes from the other side of the globe.
Spice Cafe 7th Flr City Garden Grand Hotel 2pm July 16 FMU. Initial drink choices were cold matcha and winter melon drinks. Coffee, hot tea, etc. were made available later. I was able to taste 2 of the 3 hot noodles with soup and most of the other foods that were made available.
Quantity : Most of the food served can be good for 1 to 2 people.
Quality & Taste : I choose matcha for my first drink and it was quite sweet like candy. Some who chose winter melon said it was too sweet too. Most of the tempura had substantial shrimp content with just enough batter. It was soft and crispy and tasted good specially when eaten while hot. You can taste and feel eating shrimps and not just a lot of batter with a hint of shrimp. The yakisoba tasted sweet & wierd. I normally favor savory rather than sweet but I have also tasted sweet noodles & liked it but not this one. It must have contained an ingredient that I do not like. The chicken yakitori were big chunks. The sweetness overpowered most other flavors that may have been present. The salmon sashimi was no longer fresh when sampled so it was not as good as it could be. The maki variants I was able to try were ok but unremarkable. Between the 2 noodles with soup I was able to try the gomoku variant was the better one. Its soup was tasty though it could be improved with better noodles. The laksa variants was smoking hot and smelled really good but the soup was bland (specially when compared to how good it smells). The noodles used was ok and cooked just right.
Price & Overall : Some food may have been better if eaten right after preparation and was not left on display for quite some time before being eaten. The rating would have been lower if that will not be considered. Overall rating is a bit below average.
In the area of Poblacion Makati, where there are tons of restaurants and hotels, Spice Cafe is like a hidden gem. Delicious food and nice restaurant of City Garden Grand Hotel!
Their breakfast buffet is also a must try! They have an array of dishes in their breakfast buffet with a very reasonable price!
My personal favorite on their breakfast buffet is the noodles section :) Wherein you can choose the ingredients of your noodles and the chef will do the cooking.
Their Japanese menu is also a must try! truly delightful and has big servings :)
We stayed overnight in City Garden Grand Hotel and we had breakfast buffet in this restaurant.
They served lots of choices for breakfast. The servers were so attentive of our requests. Even the manager was there roaming around to make sure everyone was enjoying their breakfast. I remember when i was about to get sliced watermelon but it was no longer available (it was replaced with another fruit), the manager requested the food server to get one plate of sliced watermelon for me. (VIP treatment!!! 😂)
It was a great start of our day!
Keep up the great job!
We came here with no expectation whatsoever and we were utterly amazed with every dish we ordered! Everything was scrumptious!
I would have rated this a 5 however it was a pain getting the staff’s attention.
Photos attached are some of the food items we ordered.
Spice Cafe is a restaurant situated in the 7/F of City Garden Grand Hotel Makati. The place was huge and spacious. Yes, it has a view from the outside.
During our visit they served us Japanese cuisines and we tried the following dishes:
🍥Beef Yakiniku
🍥Chicken Teriyaki
🍥Crazy Maki
🍥Tempura Maki
🍥Unagi Maki
🍥Yasai Futomaki
🍥Cold Soba Noodle
🍥Ebi Tempura
I like the chicken teriyaki, it was served tasty and tender. I also recommend the cold soba noodles, pairing with ebi tempura wil complement the soba noodles.
Overall, I had a great time with Spice Cafe. They provided good service.
#ilovetoeatph 😃❤️
I am a lover of breakfast buffets and I have to say that this is one of the best breakfast buffets that I have tried so far here in Metro Manila. I came down to Spice Cafe at 6AM sharp since I have to check-out early and I was surprised that the buffet was all set, in fact I spent the first hour being the only person in the area.
The staff were very courteous and will happily greet you upon entering the place. They will ask if you want some coffee, tea, or hot chocolate and it will be served to your table. The breakfast buffet has a vast selection of food and they all look yummy but you can't just try them all.
Bacon is something I am always looking forward to in every breakfast buffet, and Spice Cafe did not fail me because they serve the crispiest bacon ever. I partnered it with some pancake and blueberry spread. Yum! I was also able to try their pizza, salad, and bread.
I highly recommend Spice Cafe because it is guaranteed that you will have the best breakfast experience. Thumbs up!
It always gets exciting when there are new offerings in the metro. Recently, City Garden Grand Hotel's Spice Cafe introduced new dishes to fellow foodies via Zomato. Spice Cafe now presents their Japanese Ala Carte with wide varieties from maki rolls, sashimi, nigiri sushi, salad, and appetizer. Go healthy too and try their Salad Bar Buffet for only P499/pax (Unlimited salad bar, cheese, bread, and soup) and P899/pax (Unlimited salad bar, cheese, bread, and soup + spa treatment).
Spice Café, located at the 7th floor of City Garden Grand Hotel in Makati recently launched their Japanese ala carte menu; and I was lucky enough to have been invited for a foodie meet-up to try it out.
The place was classy and spacious. We were seated on a long table and the servers were very attentive. Below are some of the Japanese staples that we got to try —
🥢 Cold Soba Noodle
🥢 Beef Yakiniku
🥢 Chicken Teriyaki
🥢 Ebi Tempura
🥢 Assorted Maki
🥢 Japanese Cheesecake
I surprisingly enjoyed the Cold Soba Noodle, it was very tasty and had a lot of flavor. Also the Beef Yakiniku was a hit for me. It was very tender. The Ebi Tempura however could use some improvement, I had one piece, but upon first bite that certain “crunch” that indicates that the shrimp is fresh was missing. I took another piece and voila, that “crunchy” freshness was there.
The Assorted Maki for me was the highlight of that lunch. The platter included Unagi Maki (eel), Tempura Maki (shrimp), Crazy Maki (crab, cucumber, mango), Yasai Futomaki (veggie). It was presented beautifully, was super filling and quite addicting.
For dessert, we had their Japanese Cheesecake which was super to die for! Topped with fresh mangoes and abundant whipped cream, it has a fluffy and melts in your mouth texture. 🍰
If you’re looking for your next Japanese food fix, do try Spice Café! It’s worth it! 😋🥢♥️

Last October, City Garden Grand Hotel’s Spice Café launched new and exciting dishes on their menu that brought us one authentic Asian dining experience. The Spice Café introduced to us their new Japanese Ala Carte menu served all-day at the Spice Café. The new menu features Japan’s finest dishes and delicacies. Spice Café will bring to its guests the authentic taste of Japanese dishes and its traditional spices for their gastronomic cravings. We indulged in some of the highlights from the menu, California Maki Roll and Tempura Maki, Unagi Nagiri and Taco Octopus Nigiri, Saku Tuna Sashimi and Salmon Taki Sashimi, Tori Katsudon and Katsu Tori Karaage, Stir Fry Ebi Yaki Soba and Chicken Yaki Udon, Beef Soba Noodles and Spicy Seafood Soup, and Japanese Soft Cheesecake for desserts.
(A)mbience:
No doubt that this restaurant has nice ambience and table settings given that the hotel is awarded as one of the best hotels in Manila.
(B)utler Service:
All servers were friendly and reliable.
It's my first time here, and here is my honest review:
+ Spice Cafè's Buffet Breakfast selections were all tasty. I especially liked the perfectly fried bacon paired with basil leaves.
+ All of the cafè staff were courteous, and the duty manager - Chris was very pleasant to interact with.
+ There was an abundance of tables waiting for hotel guests to fill in, and even with the swarm of guests, the restaurant staff did not fail to deliver very good service.
I guess if there's something that can be improved, it's the variety of food, and a little more attention to Chinese dishes like Siomai, which had a very thick wrapper and bland taste.
Everything else worked fine!

Spice Cafe is one of the perfect places for foodies, most especially for all Japanese food junkies.
This place is big and spacious with very accomodating staffs. Excellent!
They offer breakfast buffet for only Php 700. They also have group meal.
One of the favorite dishes here is their Assorted Maki, the presentation was superb. Taste good. Delish. Purf! And I so love it! I wish i could take home some.. haha!
Great news for all the Japanese Food junkies especially for those who love seaweed(s) on their meals. They have “Cold Soba Noodles”; very delish and tasty! It also known as Buckwheat noodles.
And also their Ebi Tempura, my all time favorite, it’s crunchy and easy to chew. Yummy as always!
To end this day, don’t forget to try their special dessert, we tried their Mango Japanese Cheesecake is a tropical flavor that has fresh mangoes on top which is rich in sweetness. This cheesecake is flavorsome with fluffy texture. Delish and wonderful!
Must try this place! I would definetly recommend this to my friends and family! 💯

Spice Café in City Garden Grand Hotel is known for its buffet, but it is also building up its Japanese menu to diversify its offerings. Here are some of the dishes that I got to sample from their Japanese menu:
Beef Yakiniku (P495)
The beef had a crisp char on the outside while still remaining tender on the inside. Each one has a pleasant, smoky flavor that makes my mouth water.
Chicken Teriyaki / Tori Teriyaki (P450)
I enjoyed this one in particular. Like the beef yakiniku it had a good, crisp char on the outside and it was juicy on the inside. The teriyaki flavor oozed with each bite, proving how well-marinated the chicken was.
Assorted Maki
1) Crazy Maki (P420)
2) Tempura Maki (P495)
3) Unagi Maki (P475)
4) Yasai Futomaki (P290)
I got to try a number of their maki choices, and the one that I wish to focus on is the Unagi Maki. I have eaten eel only a couple of times, but I am amazed at how fresh it was when served on top of the roll. Coupled with the dab of Japanese mayonnaise on top to give it a hint of sweetness and saltiness, it blended well with the rice, nori, and other ingredients. I did not need to dip it in sauce, as I could taste a mild soy and sesame flavor from the eel.
Cold Soba Noodle
Normally noodles are enjoyed when hot, but cold soba (buckwheat noodles) are also popular in the summer months in Japan. This dish is very tasty and I enjoyed the chilly feeling as I ate the noodles. Because it was cold, I could also taste the soy sauce, the wakame seaweed, and the sesame seeds more clearly.
Ebi Tempura (P395 for 3 pieces; P550 for 5 pieces)
The tempura was nice and crunchy, with its soft inside fresh and. Great even without sauce.
Japanese Soft Cheesecake (P150)
When taking a bite of their cheesecake, the texture is thicker and more solid. It resembles sponge cake more than cheesecake. However, it still had that creamy taste after a few chews, and then it gives way to the sweet and sour taste of mango and cream. A surprising but pleasant way to end the meal.

Nice and extensive buffet breakfast they served at The Spice Cafe of City Garden GRAND Hotel in Makati.

The is awesome and most foreigners love that they can still eat their very own food and they've got to try Filipino food also! I think they have the best bacon around MAKATI!

I love the people in this buffet. We had breakfast. It was my friend's birthday and it was a surprise bringing me here, which should be the other way around. The food does not have al ot of varieties but the ate well and the ambience is good. And they don't really serve cake for celebrants. I was amazed that they did not think twice when I told them it was my friends birthday. And yada! The crew got out cheering a birthday song with a beautiful plate of sweets despite the buffet's morning chaos. Thank you guys! More power and God bless!
Hello everyone! It’s been over a week now since our EATStaycation at City Garden Grand Hotel. Until now, we can still remember how great our stay was. The room was really beautiful. The view from the 32nd floor was magnificent. The food was surprisingly delicious too! In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing with you our EATSperience at Spice Cafe, an all-day dining restaurant at the 7th floor of City Garden Grand Hotel. During our stay, we were able to EATSperience Spice Cafe’s grand breakfast spread. Grand meaning they have almost every breakfast food anyone can think of plus, noodles, international and local dishes, and even dessert. It was such a treat dining at Spice Cafe for breakfast that’s why we decided to try it out for lunch. Join us and EATSperience some of Spice Cafe’s newest dishes on their revamped menu!
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast can be as affordable as the silog meals that you can get almost anywhere in the Philippines, from popular silog spots like Rodic's diner to your favorite neighborhood carinderia, to very expensive breakfasts (at over Php 2,000) at Metro Manila's top hotels. I'd like to think Spice Cafe sits as somewhat of a middle option.
I'll get straight to the point, Breakfast buffet at Spice Cafe is not cheap. At Php 800 per head most people wouldn't even consider spending that much for breakfast. For those of you considering a hotel that gives you a breakfast feast every morning, then continue reading.
I guess what you'd like to know is if Spice Cafe is worth it. Well, read on to find out...

A widespread of continental, american, and asian buffet is available at Spice Cafe. Selections are awesome! They also have an available ala carte orders. Staff service is great as well!
I had lunch at Spice in City Garden Hotel. It is a buffet restaurant located at the 7th floor but you can still order ala carte. Since I didn't feel like eating much I decided to order from their ala carte menu.
I ordered the Mushroon Cappuccino soup and the Spaghetti Bolognese.
The soup was a Mushroom Soup with a foam at the top sprinkled with cinnamon,
like a cappuccino. It was good.
The Spaghetti Bolognese was also good. The portion was enough for me and it was served with 2 pieces of garlic bread so it was filling.
Price wise it was okay for the taste and since the meal was in a hotel. Service is okay also the wait staff were quick although the food took 20 minutes to serve maybe because they were more focused on the buffet.
Breakfast buffet is Php800 and Php500 if youre a stay-in guest. Value for your money with the range of food they got.
The aroma of the coffee they are serving at their roofdeck (firefly) will defenitely make you order it.
Their rooms is really cheap by the way!
👍👍👍
I had the chance to try this place the second time around as we hold the company's seminar at City Garden Grand, one of the tallest hotel structures in Makati Avenue. It has different buffet stations that you can choose from to satisfy your cravings. Their buffet offers a mixed of international dishes such as Filipino, italian, Japanese and Chinese. Great selection of food! Surprisingly for 4-star Hotel, It has comfortable and pleasant eating areas that can accommodate more or less a hundred visitors . Not to mention the affordable price and excellent service from the staff. It's truly a great dining experience. I will definitely be back.
I had a chance to stay at the City Garden Grand Hotel and I must say I truly had a wonderful experience. I mean it's not everyday that one gets to stay at the only 4 star hotel on Kalayaan Avenue.
