I’ll skip the intro and I’ll tell you how good their Bulalo Steak is! A bit pricey but heck, it’s a bulalo dish, nothing comes cheap. Plus it is really amazing. This is a must try. A perfect 5/5 for me. We also ordered their pork sisig which is above par but doesn’t exceed a 4/5 rating. It’s better than a lot of sisigs out there. The rice is awesome, it amplifies your cravings more and will make you eat more than the usual. Finally the Green Mango Salad is the perfect happy ending for this meal and also suggested you try it.

My mom was craving for some filipino food so we decided to dine at barrio fiesta.

we ordred crispy pata, ensaladang mangga, kare-kare, sinigang bangus belly, fried lumpia. We also ordered melon shake, mango shake and sago't gulaman for our drinks.

The meat of the crispy pata was tender and juicy which we really liked. The sinigang na bangus didn't taste like mud which is a sign that they got the milkfish from a good supplier. The fried lumpia and kare-kare tasted good. It was a really good experience.

I really appreciate the effort of the restaurant to reduce plastic waste but if they are going to provide paper straw for the sago't gulaman they should make sure that the sago will pass through the straw hahaha

My friends and I ordered 3 kinds of dish for share and the portion was unexpectedly huge we couldn't finish everything but we were super satisfied! We ordered the smallest portion of bulalo or oxtail soup but turned out it was still large. The meat was so tender we didn't have to try so hard to cut. The grilled talong or eggplant was bland but good thing we ordered seafood kare kare. So it was assorted seafood and veggies with peanut sauce and shrimp paste sauce. The shrimp paste was sooooo good for our indonesian palate. Then we ordered halo halo for dessert, shaved ice with lot of condiments (I could identify about 11 or 12!) with ube syrup and milk. Attention, I'm a sweet tooth but 1 portion is enough for 3! In addition, I ordered bbq chicken with java rice and chicken adobong and they were just okay. Good place if you want to try filipino food, especially for my fellow Indonesians, cucok pokoknya.

They have a singing crew here. Just like old times. Authentic Filipino Cuisine. It can’t get any better. They have a Crispy Pata and Kare Kare promo. But it’s not complete without Pinakbet.

all i can remember is that all their food are very tasty.   tastier than max and kuya J's.  their gambas is so much delicious and the prawns are pretty large.  all our other orders are pretty yummy and in my opinion parang tinodo nila ang sarap.

We celebrated my father's birthday one sunday night here in barrio fiesta. I was amazed on how they entertain and make their guests laugh. The food is delicious. We ordered sinigang na hipon, bulalo, dinuguan, sisig, karekare & pinakbet. They also sing happy birthday song to my father that highlighted our dinner.

FOOD
Sisig tastes really good. I have nothing to say, our family is really a food enthusiast as my father cooks well. and we all agree that their food is really worth the price.

Ambiance
The place is cozy and clean. You will feel the filipino culture as you step in the place.

Staff (Kudos to all the staff)
They are really entertaining and they even customize how they approach their customers. You won't feel any dull moment during your stay as they don't stop singing. Waiter attended to our concern in a fast manner and they are all smiling while serving the food. we only waitwd for 10mins for them to prepare our food

Price
The price is just right for the quality of the food. Expect that if the price is a li'l bit high then the food ia really yummy 😊😊

If you are craving for authentic Filipino cuisine, I'm pretty sure that Barrio Fiesta will be part of your restaurant choices. It has been in the industry for over 50 years and it is known to serve great tasting Filipino dishes at affordable prices. . Whenever I dine at Barrio Fiesta, I usually order my favorite combo which are none other than the Kare-Kare and Crispy Pata duo. These are definitely classic picks in any Filipino themed restaurant and I must say that Barrio Fiesta is one of the best places that serve these dishes.

The singing waiters experience was very fun, energetic, genuine, interactive, exciting, and memorable! All the food dishes were fantastic as well. Lumpiang Shanghai, Bangus, and Kaldereta are to name a few. The presentation of the food was also nice, especially for the soup! Seeing the banana leaves made me want to eat with my hands like at a boodle feast!

Barrio Fiesta is one of the most loved restaurants by pinoys. We’ve had a chance again to eat here for my mom’s birthday. This particular Barrio Fiesta branch is located at the corner of Makati Avenue and Valdez Street. It’s quite difficult to go to this branch because there are one-way streets here, especially this part of Makati Avenue. They close one side of the road to give way for vehicles entering the Makati CBD. The traffic was really terrible while we were there. It took us around 25 minutes to get a ride because of the slow-moving traffic. Parking spaces aren’t that many as well.

My first ever trying Filipino's food and also the first destination as soon i arrived in Manila. Big thanks for the locals who also my mom's friend who took me here to eat. She said thay this is a famous Filipino's restaurant for locals and for tourist as well. Because the menu were written in Tagalog, i let her choose their famous local dish.

-Crispy Patta : the best pork dish i've ever had! It's a deep fried pork leg served with some kind of vinegar sauce. I love the crispiness of the skin and how the meat was juicy inside, very easy to peel it from the bone as well, and the sauce also taste amazing! Much favourite for this one

-Kare Kare : Filipino's local stew, with peanut sauce based and filled with seafood (freshwater crab, shrimp, mussel, squid). I may not a fan of this because the soup taste more like liquid peanut butter, however i loved how the seafood were fresh and big. The freshwater crab's leg was full of meat and the mussel also big and juicy. But overall it's a new experience for me,so interesting!

-Adobong Pusit : my uber favourite dish after crispy patta! This was pusit (squid) cooked in adobo style, and i super love it! Sauce taste awesome, i keep slurping the sauce eventhough it's salty, and the squid were chewy and easy to bite. Much love!

-Halo Halo : a traditional Filipino's dessert which is a shaved ice topped with jelly, jackfruit, banana, flan, sweet bean, ube paste, ube ice cream. and drizzled with evaporated milk. Lots of Filipino's dessert use ube (taro/yam) and their ube ice cream taste great, very thick and not too sweet. The shaved ice give a similiar feeling to Indonesian's shaved ice, just different toppings. I even ordered extra ube ice cream because it taste very good!

Overall i had such an amazing experience ate my first ever Filipino's dish here! Big thanks to my mom's local friend who brought us here, and also made me a fan of Filipino's food😋

Nostalgia.

Nothing beats eating food you grew up with to immediately transport you back to your childhood. Barrio Fiesta, portal to your childhood.

My family & I came during the peak hour of dinner service. We didn't have to wait long though. Fortunately enough, a group just finished their meal & closing bill. We sat near the spot where the crew set up a little place where they can entertain customers by singing. Lakas maka-Harana. Plus the fact that the servers are hilarious, cracking witty jokes that are up my alley. Uhmm hello ang funny niyo!

My family didn't mind waiting half an hour for our orders to come in. Quick question though, how long's standard cooking time?

We ordered Sinalab Special, Kare Kare, Pancit Canton, Crispy Liempo, Fresh Lumpia, Sinigang na Tanigue. Haayyy lahat masarap. None's mediocre. Simula Kanin hanggang Bagoong. If ever you visit, I suggest mag-kamay ka na. They have clean restrooms WITH UNDILUTED hand soap. O diba? Barrio Fiesta's "expecting" you to eat with your hands cause sure silang masarap pagkain nila. Sure enough, totoo. Mmm chos yung expectation ha hindi yung masarap yung food.

Okay sige, bye. Papacheck ko lang BP ko dami kong nakain. Ka-high blood. Hehe chos lang ulit.

One of the pioneers and classics in Filipino cuisine, and claimed to be the home of the original crispy pata, Barrio Fiesta's staying power is remarkable, being in the industry since my childhood years. This particular branch along Makati Ave. is one of the humblest and most low-profile among the restaurants in the area. And yet, it does not run out of customers, mostly loyal ones who have been dining in this establishment for many years. It is no surprise; Barrio Fiesta is one of the "most Filipino" among the abundance of Filipino restaurants in Manila. As such, it serves authentic Filipino dishes as encountered in local and provincial feasts, with minimal twists to modernization and fusion, hence the name.

I have not dined in here yet; most of my orders are on a "to go" basis; thus my review is based on the dishes that I bring home to enjoy. Actually, I always order the same food, and as such they have become my classic favorites. To wit:

1. Beef Kare-Kare: a truly Pinoy classic in major events, and even as a special viand at home. Ox tail and tripe cooked in creamy peanut sauce, and partnered with sautéed shrimp paste, this will definitely merit extra serving of steamed rice.

2. Bulalo: known for its high content of bad cholesterol and uric acid, it is also one of the best tasting broth-based soup that everybody is tempted and succumbs to. No one can ever resist the marrow that bursts with fat and flavor.

3. Chicken Arroz Caldo: a popular comfort food and snack, this ginger-based rice porridge with chicken parts is best enjoyed while still hot.

4. Pancit Bihin Guisado: although there's nothing too spectacular about this dish, being composed of the same basic ingredients, it is filled with the flavor of meat, liver and chicken, that's on top of the properly cooked rice noodles with just the right amount of oil and moisture.

To end, I could have given this restaurant a higher rating. However, it takes them too much time to cook and prepare the food. The arroz caldo, for example, takes at least 20 minutes to be served, considering that this is a very simple dish. This happened at a time when there were only 3 customers. Do the adjustment and computation for the delay in the orders, especially the complex dishes, when this place is fully packed.

The place was quiet, there was music. Few people were eating when we went there so it was convinient for us. We ordered 3 types of dishes. It all tasted good to me. I just don't like the how the sinigang tasted. Too sour for me. But over all it was good.

We were invited by our friend here to have sunday lunch after the christening of their baby. We truly enjoyed the delicious all time favorite filipino food served. We had crispy pata and kare kare. These were on my plate again and again. They were able to sustain customer preference when it comes to classic filipino dishes.

Like one of my favourites, mixed adobo, my tongue has mixed emotions on the taste of the foods here in barrio fiesta. Being so close to our unit in makati, it has been an instant relief for our filipino dish cravings ever since.

Here is a succinct description of some dishes on the menu that we've tried :
1. Kare-kare- it must be their signature dish as it is flamboyantly displayed on the signages outside. This one is a a must-try and my favourite (sometimes my comfort food here).
2. Sinigang whatever- may it be baboy (pork) or ulo ng salmon (salmon's head) or hipon (shrimp)... Their sinigangs always lack that pinoy sour taste for the soup. I always ending up reminiscing how my father used to cook siningang from his age of yore. 😅
3. Mixed adobo- fair enough but too oily
4. Sinampalukang manok- lacks that gingery flavour.
5. Binagoongang baboy- i have tasted much better ones from different restaurants. Very oily.
6. Lechon kawali- not bad
7. Adobong atay and balun-balunan (liver and gizzard)- i have a better version, could have instead.

For today's lunch, we had
1. Bistek tagalog- i loved this one, that's the pinoy sweet style im seeking for. Tender beef with sliced potatoes and onion rings.
2. Laing- didn't like it. Lacked spicy and meaty flavour. I just tasted bluntly taro leaves and coconut milk. They could have sticked on how bicolanos used to make it. Red chilis must be a good alternatir instead of green chili (pangsigang). That rendition is a loser.
3. Rice- as u might expect it, rice were gold.
4. Fresh buko juice- it could have been chilled, come on!

Generally, the prices of the dishes here are quite higher than how the foods taste. I know of some other filipino restaurants with cheaper price or maybe of the same price but with better taste, servings and presentation. Like XO heritage bistro on a nearby mall.

They could definitely work on it, we don't need the singing waiters doing their haranas (serenades)... We want better tasting foods.

Well, to commend...
*the menu listed here is not updated. They have a better menu nowadays with photos.
*never ran out of parking spaces and table.
*very attentive waiters.
*bagoong all you want, dont hesitate to get some as it is already on the table for free. 👍

Barrio Fiesta is like an institution for good Filipino dishes, and what makes it more loveable is that they have a good number of dishes available here. Love their beef caldereta which I mostly always take as my first meal here. There are a lot more dishes to choose from and i love sampling them all. I could not pin point any bad thing about this place, but since Filipino food is so much better with rice, I tend to get full easily.

#BarrioFiesta Makati Ave. is STILL the place to savor the #FilipinoFood #classic Kare-Kare, that's best complemented with the resto's trademark #bagoong!

The regular #claypot of #KareKare that was served, didn't scrimp on the tender #Beef and #Tripe. The #PusoNgSaging and #Veggies in the stew had their snap intact. The sauce was perfectly creamy and delivered what was expected. Suddenly, family gatherings of our youth at many of their branches were conjured and we had to say that we loved Barrio Fiesta then and looks like we still do. Cheers! to the "hearth" of the matriarch of this restaurant group whose beautiful face signs the jars on the tables with her smile.

Now, we don't know which Kare-Kare is better-that of the mother's, Liberty Ilagan, at Barrio Fiesta? Or that of the daughter's, Happy Ongpauco, at Pamana? So looking forward to that face-off! :9

One of the longest-running restaurants in Poblacion, Makati. I've known the place since I was still a young lad and until now, it has been the favorite of many residents of Poblacion even when many modern restaurants had already been popping around the area. They have kept the traditional taste of their food through the test of time.

When you say Barrio Fiesta, the first thing that will come to people's minds are it's famous Kare-kare and Crispy Pata. Once you've tried them, you'll know what Kare-kare and Crispy Pata are suppose to taste!

The place has a nice Philippine-themed interior. We even shoot a scene there once for El Filibusterismo when I was in highschool.

No doubt, it is definitely a place of memories cherished through the good quality of food that is being loved through generations.

Heard a lot about Barrio Fiesta but never tried it before. While we were in Manila last week I took advantage the chance of dining there to satisfy my cravings for authentic Filipino food.

As soon as we entered the place one of their staff welcomed and guided us to a get a comfortable table. The Filipino themed ambiance and all its charms made me feel that I’m really back in my motherland. The place indeed was very nice and cozy.

We ordered Sinigang na Tanigue, Kare-kare, Lechon Kawali and Chopsuey. Our Sinigang was served in a palayok (native Filipino clay pot). The Sinigang broth had a perfect balanced of flavors but the Tanigue fish was a little bit tough. It would have been perfect if they did not overcook the fish.

My cousins loved the Kare-kare and the bagoong was a hit. According to them Barrio Fiesta’s Kare-kare was better than the Cabalen’s. No comparison for me since I haven’t yet tried Cabalen’s Kare-kare.

Our first batch of Lechon Kawali was perfectly cooked, well-done and crispy. The second one was tough and not crispy at all.

My personal pick was the chopsuey. I requested the waiter not to put oyster sauce on it because I am allergic to oysters. It still tasted very delicious and was cooked perfectly. The veggies were fresh and crunchy. I loved it!

The Halo-halo wasn't special for me. The taste was ordinary. It only looks appetizing because it was served in a coconut husk decorated with little colorful parasol.

The staffs were very friendly. They also have a live acoustic guitar player who serenaded the diners with local songs from different parts of the country. It was indeed an enjoyable dining experience.

Overall, the price was reasonable. The food was delicious, although I didn't find anything out of the ordinary. The food tasted as it was suppose to taste. Typical “lutong bahay” dishes loved by every Filipino.

For the price, this place was awesome. Authentic Filipino food yet the staff and food had a look and feel of a high class restaurant. I ordered the Sizzling Sisig and the wife had Kare-Kare. The Sisig had a raw egg on top when they first brought it out but since the plate came out Sizzling, the egg quickly cooked. With a side of Calamansi and little red chili. The chili had the just amount of zing to make the meal enjoyable and the serving was perfect. The Kare-Kare had plenty of meat in it. Not your standard servings of a lot of vegetables with little meat. It was actually the opposite. All together, meals including drinks, which was a mango juice and sago at gulaman the total was 731php. Well worth the price, food, and atmosphere.
