I prefer to eat the comfort food I am used to eating all my life, and I never thought I'd fall in love with Persian Food this instantly.

I am grateful that I experience to taste an authentic Mediterranean Food in one of the first Mediterranean Resto in the Philippines since 1985.

You'll be amazed by the staff friendliness and accurate service. But most of all, the authentic Food...

Mache polo a tender and tasty Lamb, big enough for 3pax.
Mixed Kebab II Php735 is a combination of
Beef Kebab, Shish Kebab, and Chicken Kebab grilled into perfection and sided with char-grilled tomatoes and onions.

Saffron and Biryani rice, long grains rice that I really really like.
Naan or Flatbread P135 perfect pairing with the Chef’s Sampler.
Roti Channai P140 is a Malaysian puffed sweet bread served with special sauce.
Shrimp Kebab P890 marinated in Hossein's yoghurt sauce, and grilled to perfection.

For the drinks, we had
Persian punch
Four Seasons
Mango Lassie
Blue Hawaii
Mint Lassie

I have tried the Mango Lassie and Blue Hawaii, both drinks are fruity, with yogurt and a bit salty just like how they like it in their country.

A trip to the Middle East is not a walk in the park. It entails loads of planning, which includes time and money. There are tons of research involved, too, given the countless destinations and the mysteries surrounding each country.

But if you just want to experience Mediterranean cuisine, you can have it anytime without the need to fly.

Hossein’s is Manila’s premier destination for authentic Persian, Arabic, Indian, and Eastern Mediterranean food. The ingredients they use are mostly imported and has been consistent with quality since 1985.

It was a late afternoon rendezvous for our team, and we went right into feast mode with Hossein’s staff, preparing only their best selling products to us.

So what was really good? And what should you have if you visit? What mesmerized my tastebuds the most was the Mixed Kebab platter. It had tender, grilled cuts of beef, shish (beef cello), and chicken, with the usual side of tomatoes and onions. No need for a sauce as all three were juicy and marinated well.

There’s also a seafood variety in Shrimp Kebabs, in a pool of Hossein’s own blend of yogurt sauce.

Another favorite was the Ghormeh Sabzi. It’s not precisely picture-worthy, but it’s going to satisfy most tummies. This bowl of tangy and savory meat stew has various herbs and spices, mostly parsley, leeks or scallions, cilantro, as well as dried fenugreek leaves.

There’s also the Chicken Dopiaza, a curry based entree with strong notes of onion. This one is best paired with dry, Saffron, and Biryani Rice.

While waiting for the mains to arrive, go for Chef’s Starter of colorful appetizers in Hummus, Moutubal, Kibbeh, Dolmeh, Falafel, and Tabbouleh Salad. Have it as soon as it is served with warm pieces of pita bread. You can alternate it with other carbs here like the Indian Naan and Roti Channai.

This restaurant handed out a number of drinks as well. But I only got to settle the popular Mango Lassi, an enchanting sweet and sour cup of fresh mango, milk, and yogurt.

Hossein’s Makati Avenue branch is the original location, but they do have other spots in Greenbelt and Serendra, BGC.

One of our dream travel destinations is the Middle East. Not only to see its many beautiful sights and culture but to also savor the bold, rich flavors of its cuisine. And while the travel part is still in the works, I’m happy I was able to have a taste of the gastronomic part at Hossein’s Persian Kebab in Makati. A visually-appetizing feast offering authentic Persian food that’s both soulful and filling. LET’S EAT!

Have you tried any Persian Food? Or any dish that resembles its taste?
Well if you haven't tried it yet and would want to try some, better visit Hossein's Persian Kebab at Makati Ave, Makati and have a fantastic experience from awesome architectural design and decorations that would surely make you feel so luxurious!
Also do not forget to visit their Hosseins Hookah Shisha Habibi Lounge at the ground floor, try their Shisha using that oh so expensive equipment for 4 hrs.
Smoker? Do not worry because they are one of the legal designated smoking area in Makati.
While chilling and relaxing you may try the following dishes:
Chef Starter
Chicken Dopiaza
Shrimp Kebab
Saffrong and Biryani Rice
Mixed Kebab
Mache Polo
Ghormeh Sabzi
Naan
Roti Channai
They also offer various alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, such as:
Persian Punch
Four Seasons
Mango Lassie
Mint Lassie
Blue Hawaii
Here are the 3 things I like about this place:
1. The Place:
- It is so clean, well ventilated, and spacious.
- Luxurious architectural and interior design makes me feel like I am in a different country.
2. The Food:
- The Chef Starter which is composed of hummus (my most favorite) , moutabal, kibbeh, dolmeh, falafel, tabbouleh salad and 3 pcs of pita bread (or you can ask for other bread like naan, which is best consumed when hot and freshly baked).
3. The Shisha:
- It was my first time to try this thing and it was an awesome one. We tried apple and mint flavor which are both so good. Shisha plus chit chat with friends is so priceless, but of course shisha comes with a price haha.
So if you want to hang out and have some quiet or even loud time with your friends and even your family, this is a great place to be.

I've always been looking for a place close to Dubai and so far, this place has exceeded my expectations! I've always loved shisha, and it's nice to see them clean and how they serve it the traditional way (except for the modernized charcoal lol) which shows that they know what they are doing. Kudos to the authentic food as well. Maybe they just need to change the tugs tugs type of music into something more close to its home, maybe arabic modern songs?

The food is DELICIOUS. And it's a nice ambience.

However, the staff try to make you buy the most expensive items on the menu. They just care about taking your money.

It's a great place though that I like. Would be nice if the staff were a little more considerate and treated us like real customers and not just money machines.

But the food is good.

This location has been around for decades often overlooked due to the notorious traffic and congestion of Makati Ave, as well as the many choices and proximity to poblacion/burgos area.

Food never fails, and the stand out for me, which i had stumbled across by accident after running out of new things to try, and for wanting to be adventurous, is their chicken that is served in a bright, almost Cheetos like orange colored sauce. I wish i had discovered it earlier over the course of the many many times eating here. You’re welcome.

We visited this place before leaving makati. Our only regret is that we didn't visit it before. The Chelo kebab is amazing, the service is excellent. Above all the food is halal Alhamdolillah.
Thanks to all staff for providing a lovely meal.

It seems like they reopened or renovated the whole restaurant recenlty and i have to say they did a great job. The food is great but the only drawback here is the price. It is pricey for the the type of food they serve and it ranks low in terms of value for money.

Went to this place around a month ago however didn't get time to share my feedback. As they say, better late than never :)

Ambience: Pretty decent place, they have tried giving it a fine dine touch and have succeeded in it to an extent. +ves seating is spacious and comfortable with nice wall paintings and good quality furniture. -ves tables on right side of the bar doesn't get enough AC cooling because of curtain partition they have done. They need to install central cooling system rather than window ACs.

Food: They serve delicious food and I would suggest everyone to visit the place. Their Arabic tea is class apart and chicken yogurt curry is amazing. Garlic naan was too dry and has opportunity doe improvement.

Price: I found it lil expensive against the portion and service standard but not to an extent that'll stop me from visiting them again

It was a splendid experience apart from a few customer service issues. They kept us waiting for a while for take out, and a few blind spots in the restaurant kept them from actually seeing us. :P

Though the food was nice!

Hossein' Persian Kebab is a revelation! Don't let the bright yellow facade fool you. Upon entering the place, you'll be surprised by the intricate Middle Eastern interiors. It wasn't packed when we arrived so we get to choose the best seat. Tip: If you want to feel like a monarch while eating, make a reservation for the seat with colorful tapestries but if you like people watching, choose the well-lit area near the window. I believe that the place will look more refined at night because they have a variety of chandelier and light fixture installation all over the place. We are a group of 5 so we ordered Roti Bread, Mix Kebab I and II, Lamb Masala Curry and the Saffron and Biryani Rice (which is not on the menu). I am not a fan of curry but this one tasted so good that I even paired it with the Roti Bread. The taste of curry is not that strong and it is very creamy. I love how they serve the Roti inside a cloth for it to stay warm and palatable. The Mix Kebab I&II are good choices when you want to try a variety of Kebabs. We'll definitely go back to try the other items in their menu.

My brother and I came out of an evening meeting and were hungry for a late dinner.  I was in the mood for Persian cuisine so we chose Hossein’s along Makati Ave.  Parking was full but we managed to find a slot a block away.
It was our first time in that outlet.  It was well decorated and looked like fine dining.   Clientele that evening was a mix with foreigners.
My brother was unfamiliar with Persian so I did the ordering.  We had hummus, pita bread,  beef kubideh (as that’s my staple Persian fix), chicken kebab, and saffron rice.  The pita bread was soft, warm and comforting.  The kubideh and chicken were tender, tasty and outstanding.    I would have wanted more grilled tomatoes but it seemed too much to order separately.  My brother loved the chicken, especially with the green chili salsa on the side.
Our server was a smiling and pleasant gentleman who attended to our requests graciously.
We paid P1,250, inclusive of service charge.   We had enough leftovers for take home :-) Overall, a very good dining experience and worth a return visit.

My friends and I have been eating at Hossein's since 1993 when it was a hole-in-the-wall along Jupiter Street (literally on the street as your floor was the sidewalk) with a total of maybe 4 monoblock plastic tables and chairs.  Their beef shish kebab is absolutely the best I've ever had and is best with pita and hummus, but rice lovers can't go wrong with the chelou shish kebab.  My friend's been all over the best restaurants in the middle east and he says Hossein's beef shish kebab is still the best.

Other dishes to try are: fried brain, khorma curries, their soups and appetizers.  Still the beef shish kebab is the star of this restaurant and continues to be more than 20 years after I first ate here.  My only lament is the full meal that used to cost me P130 on Jupiter street sidewalk will now set me back over P700.

Well it seemed like a quaint little place but inside the decòr is quite impressive. I hadn't even half expected it to be a place where solo dining would mean you know not how to finish the food. Ordered lamb kadeish with garlic naan; pretty delicious but a tad too buttery which made it difficult for me to finish half of it. The best part was the dessert recommendation from the attendant, baklava - loved it, absolutely. Tried finding an equivalent baklava at ziggurrat or persia grill but they are way below in the competition.
Returned quite a few times to taste the other varieties though the food turns to be a bit pricey, its worth the taste.

Chill.
Although near the red light district, the clientele is bearable. The food is great! I usually bring friends with me, due to the big serving sizes and for sharing Shisha / Hookah.
I bumped into the chef may be once or twice here. I agree with the others; the chicken here is worth a visit!
I love my appetisers so I end up ordering nearly the entire range, but if you can't decide and you are only a couple of people order the meeze or combo starter. ;)
Personally I LOVE that I can choose between, Punjabi, Caspian, Greek and Egyptian dishes in one spot!
I favour the Mirza... The delicate saffron taste makes it stunning!
If you haven't had the luck to try tandoori, then try theirs! Trust me, you won't regret it.
I love lamb, so I order different lamb dishes here, all are delicious and worth coming back for.
Cap it off with some coffee and baclava, they got a baclava platter for those who are like me and can't decide. Lol

They got several branches, Serendra, Makati, etc but I tend to be loyal to a certain location, so I prefer the one here in Makati. Don't rush the waiters. Don't eat here if you are in a hurry. Good food takes time and good service doesn't happen if your waiters get annoyed with you. ;-)
If you must insist on constant hand on foot waiting, then pay their service fee / tip in advance and be kind about it. Just saying.

One of the best places for kebabs in Manila. Go for the stuffed chicken kebab...if the waitress tells you to get the beef, tell them the chicken is better (I LOVE beef...but chicken is definitely the way to go with this one).
