Toyo from beginning to end was lovely. Steve our waiter was fantastic, extremely knowledgable about every single element of the dish and he was a delight! The food was beautifully presented and each course had a unique Filipino touch to it which made this place something special for us. The decor is simple but effective and the sharing tables are a great idea - can't fault it! If you're in Manila, stop by.
My new favorite place.... gave my palate the much needed break from all the traditional food I've been eating this Christmas season....
Simple food turned into fun, exquisite gourmet... awesome food experience better than the Michelin restaurants I've been to.

i've been to Toyo twice already and they never fail to leave me with a perfect and memorable dining experience. the service is flawless and the dishes are all so remarkable. I literally find myself craving for their silog and uni+kalabasa soup at random times of the day. the drinks are also worth trying! its also important to note how well-mannered and hospitable the staff is. i love everything about this place! 10/10 would go back !!
I've only been to Toyo twice but everything about the place always seems... perfect? Never thought I'd use the word to describe a restaurant but when everything is done flawlessly, I guess that's just the right word for it. Great food, very friendly staff, great space. <3 There's so much more to be said about Toyo! Will definitely go back. <3
Outstanding. The food, atmosphere and attention to detail was amazing. This restaurant deserves a Michelin star, without doubt.
Toyo's food has soul! Tradition meets modern, authenticity meets yummy! I really loved it and will be back!
This really discovers Philippine Soul. I highly recommend to experience the Toyo.
For me, the best part of any meal is dessert...and TOYO surely did not disappoint ❤️👍🏻🐷
An amazing culinary experience! Filipino flavours presented in a modern way. Every dish had an element of surprise with explosion of taste and textures! A great way of introducing Filipino cuisine!
Excellent service the staff is knowledgeable about the dish that they are serving and the food taste really great two thumbs up for this resto will be going back soon
We were so pleased to have found Toyo. The food is fabulous. Great service too. It was a real highlight of our visit to Manila.
Comfort food galore! Don’t miss their Cua pao, patatim and garlic chicken. 😋
Emer’s the only reason you will come to this shady mall. Order for curbside pick-up.
Emer's offers good food at a very affordable price and generous serving.
Their cua pao is really good 👍. We also had their crispy chicken, it was crunchy and tender (did not expect that👍).
But nothing special with other dish that we ordered.
Affordable food, I love the calamansi juice it is authentic and refreshing along with the liquid sugar to taste- the serving of the chicken is small yet tasty and I super love the vegetables with quail eggs it is always a delight
Emer's is one of the oldest restaurant in Makati Square, It's been there since I was a kid. It's a nice place to eat if you want an affordable old authentic Chinese cooking in Makati. They have the best Cua Pao, I will also recommend their Lomi and Miki Bihon. I will be back to try their other foods.
I might be a bit biased in this review; this restaurant is my dad's favorite restaurant since it opened a long time ago. They have no other branches and the regulars are in their 50s...
The food is affordable but they also serve a little less than the regular 'sharing' of chinese restaurants. A restaurant strategy in which I believe is very smart.
I recommend their cua pao, taste authentic.
Their pata tim is very tender and a must order as well, a good match with their yang chow.
The pansit canton is ok for me but I think it is not for everyone.
Emer's is right beside the iconic Aida's in Makati Cinema Square and it's a good spot for affordable Chinese cuisine. While the dishes were well-prepared, none of it leaves a lasting impression.
Food 6/10
Service 8/10
Price 8/10
Wait time: less than 15 minutes
Parking: inside mall
Emer's will survive no matter what. It is perhaps one of the best reasons why Makati Cinema Square still exists. This is the place for Chinese comfort food. The Hot Sour soup, Cua Pao, and Lomi are some of the items you must try. This place, however, is not for the young and pretentious. Don't bother with the ambience -- it's not on the menu. The food is so good that my appetite survived despite the smell of freshly sprayed insecticide. Hmmm. They're cool like that.
Their Pata Tim is to die for. The place is not too much to look at, a typical Chinese restaurant with no frills but the food is superb. They don't accept credit card. Lomi and Cua Pao are the best too.
Too bad I only knew of emers since 4 years ago. Emers is an institution at makati cinema square , a tradition to the 50s above.it gets full every single day, lunch or dinner. Has a steady loyal following amidst tremendous competition. My staples: oyster misua, cuapao ( they are famous for this), steamed dumpling ( I love the sweet vinegar dip with this) and chopsuey rice. Very reasonable to the max! If your food is good , your quality is maintained, there's value for money, no reason for Emers not to survive comfortably and so long......
I'm probably not being subjective here but the novelty of this place added to the taste of their food - classic chinese-filipino. Ordered the all time combo of lomi and cua pao and they tasted really nice.
It's been awhile since I've written anything here but I'm surprised that this place had such a poor rating...
Don't get me wrong, it's fairly skanky looking and low down and shady, however this place left quite an impression on me really.
It serves some basic Chinese food that's been Filipinized I suppose. The prices are fairly cheap and the taste is not quite superb but I would say it's quite good. It becomes great due to the price in all honesty.
I went there with the family to eat a few times and since our family consists of about 15 people my siblings, significant others and the kids, well you can imagine we are hard pressed to find a place that is within budget for all of us with the way we eat. We were happy to be introduced to Emers.
Apparently a lot of people eat here during workdays as the prices are good as mentioned above and the food is quite tasty. Albeit that, as I often passed and ignored this place as I went about my usual business in MCS, I was finally able to eat there.
Normally places that don't offer filtered water is a cause for alarm for me, but I figured I'd brave it and see what all the hooplah was about. As soon as I opened the menu, I was surprised by the amount of options they had. It was a Chinese resto which I would have never guessed given the name, but I was pleased to see classics such as the corn soup with chicken strips and sweet and sour pork.
We proceeded to ordering and I was surprised they don't have a large bowl for soup or rice, unlike most Chinese restaurants that serve family style. It was per bowl, much to our dismay. Given the prices however we powered through.
I ordered some crispy noodles with chicken and of course corn soup. The soup was nice and thick, served very hot, enough to burn my tongue a little, just the way I like it. The noodles were smothered in sauce which removed some of the crunch but it was rather memorable for me. It had a nice rich sauce that had a lot of flavor. Although neither really completely stood out, I'd have to say they didn't disappoint whatsoever!
So if you are in the place, please give it a try but take it with a grain of salt yeah? Don't expect gourmet food, but expect to be pleasantly surprised by this quiet little Chinese restaurant.
