I like their spicy karaage (though it’s really not spicy). They also serve fast and have friendly staff.

Their location has no phone signal, I needed to go out to unlock my zomato gold.

102 Izakaya is the only restaurant I visited 2 consecutive times, with an interval of 2 days. 🤣🤣🤣 i really love their makimono. The Black Mamba (squid ink in rice, battered soft shell crab, cream cheese) is divine! Also, the Spider Maki with it’s shredded red peppers that added a nice colorful touch. The Beef Usuyaki (beef rolls filled with mushrooms and bacon) is so filling that you would want to ask for Gohan. Their Gyoza is so stuffed and perfectly pan-fried. Price-wise, it’s affordable and competitive. Tastes authentic but won’t break your buck.

Just discovered this place last month, when I was craving for Japanese for dinner while still at work. I got so excited, when I found them in Zomato gold, so I invited my friend along. 😁

Prices are actually fair (quite low tbh for the area) considering the good quality/delicious food they serve. I liked everything we ordered, especially their spicy salmon maki, served with generous amount of salmon!

Ambiance is pretty laidback, with a very chill vibe—perfect for bonding with friends while enjoying a good meal. By far my fave Jap restau in Salcedo!👍👍👍👍👍

We reserved a table using Zomato and they were quick to respond. The staff were very friendly in accomodating us, especially in our queries about the 1+1 food. My friends and I ordered a ramen each and were too full and happy by the end of the meal. Ambience is a bit dark but understandable with their branding as a Japanese restaurant. They were also showing anime on their television which was a big plus.

Chicken tebasaki is chicken wings which were very crispy from outside and soft from inside . Its texture was perfect.
I loved how they served the fried chocolate. Ice tea was chilled and amazing in taste.

The food was great!!! Thanks to Zomato Gold, we got to order a lot from the menu (shown in the photos attached, and more) at a cheaper price! The pieces were big also, but there were only a few pieces per dish. Everything tasted amazing, especially the wagyu cubes! ❤️ Will definitely come back with my family ☺️❤️

Such a funky-looking place nestled in the heart of Makati! The yakiyori platter was a sight to behold, and it was surprisingly competitively priced compared to other yakitori places in the area.

A great place for some yakitori and drinks. The place has a quirky design and is very conducive for meals with friends. 👍

The yakitori has a sweet-savory sauce which is just a perfect match for beer. The Usuyaki beef is also a must try, big rolls of mushroom wrapped in beef. ❤❤❤

I absolutely loved my stay here with my friends. The ambiance is laidback. It’s one of those chill spots where you can hang with friends over simple, but spot on Japanese dishes. We ordered a bunch of rolls, yakitori, kushikatsu, and of course some beer for a perfect combo. I’ll be back!

Enjoyed the rock n roll maki and their tonkotsu ramen. Their gyudon, not so much, too saucy and taste, unremarkable. The rock n roll is 5 huge pieces of neo-jap concoction, very tasty and filling - a meal on its own. Tonkotsu broth is hearty, and the pork pieces almost melt in your mouth because of their tenderness; ramen noodles firm and plentiful. Sobrang sarap! My only beef was the noisy din of happy eaters. But hey, yumminess is meant to be shared with everybody, right? 😋

What I like about 102 Izakaya is that it doesn’t pretend to be anything else but a Japanese Pub that serves superb Japanese Cuisine. The brightly colored interiors act as a facade as if to distract you while you wait for the magic to happen inside the kitchen. They don’t serve bar food, they prepare intricate works of gastronomic art served with a cold bottle of sake or Sapporo.

If in case I sounded that convincing I recommend you try the following dishes on your first visit.

1.) Beef Usuyaki - Think of this dish as a really great party happening inside your mouth, then suddenly out of nowhere Bruno Mars crashes your party and does a set. That’s how unexpectedly good this dish is, very few can top the rich, savory goodness of rolled beef strips with mushroom and bacon.

2.) Edo San Special - Named after the head Chef of the restaurant this is one loaded sushi roll. Packed within the roll is Anago, cucumber, crabstick and drizzled with cream cheese and ebiko. All
seamlessly bound with a skewer of shrimp, the roll is a tapestry of flavors and textures that melts together with every bite you take.

3.) Kani Tamago Aburri Sushi - Although this menu item is a lot more straightforward compared to the first 2 dishes, it doesn’t take away the fact that it’s prepared exceptionally well. The contrasting layers just transforms into something delightfully new when consumed.

I’m glad we now have Uber (navigation system for drunk people) because I’m more than happy getting hammered drinking while eating to my hearts content here at 102 Izakaya.

This is a good place to get Japanese food. My colleagues and I went here for lunch and got ourselves different orders. We had rolls, ramen and some kind of infused pork belly. I forgot their names but you can check it out in their menu. We all had really tasty meals, especially the pork which I had with a bowl of white rice. We used Zomato Gold here so the 4 of us just paid for 2 (me and my friend have Gold accounts haha). Note that not all of their food are included on the 1+1 deal. Also don't expect for something fancy. It has that laidback Japanese resto interior. Staff were also nice. I'm actually surprised there's a place like this in the area. Go here if you're craving Japanese food!

Japanese food is one of the cuisines that I’d never get tired of having.  I just love how meticulous their food are and the way it’s being prepared.  Also, the revelation in its flavors are just plain delicious.  May it be traditional or modern, it has been such a widespread here in Manila.  The ambiance has Japanese posters reminiscent of their local characters.  There’s Origami hanging on the ceiling as well adding more Japanese accent.

For that organic izakaya experience inspired by the side streets of Japan, head on to 102 Izakaya, a contemporary Japanese pub featuring traditional Japanese cooking techniques and ingredients served with a modern and hip vibe.

They encourage the true-blue izakaya concept of drinking your favorite beers together with eating their delicious inexpensive plates of authentic Japanese dishes. All these from LA Valles' love of izakayas, and Chef Edo San's over 40 years of experience.

Since this was super near our office, I had to try this! The place was decked in industrialist modern Japanese aesthetic. Walls were filled with Japanese posters, a fish mural that sort of reminds me of Hootie and the Blowfish, and a chubbier version ofthe Running Man. Really hip, which is no surprise at all as it is located in one of the busiest interserctions in the Salcedo Village area of Makati.

I like eating when drinking, in short, I'm that drinking buddy who loves the pulutan. I find these small bites very conversation-inducing, communal and interactive. Solo meals tend to let you focus on your own plate but these sticks of °Kushikatsu and °Yakitori steal the show and allow people more freedom with choices. You can get assorted kushikatsu for as low as P25 to P48 per stick and yakitori at P35 to P85 per stick.

For their appetizers, I was blown away by the tasty °Kani Salad. Like a deconstructed california roll, it has kani, mango, greens and Japanese mayo. The °Fresh Tofu and Seaweed salad has a different taste though, very tangy and has more bite.

They served up some °Spicy Tori Karaage, which, for those who don't know, is Japanese fried chicken with spicy sauce. They also have huge °Tsukune or Japanese chicken balls topped with seaweed. Both chicken dishes were juicy and tasty. Boy, I am in for a treat!

What's a Japanese restaurant without the sushi and makimono? Of course, 102 Izakaya serves up their own Aburi Sushi. Was able to try the °Kani Tamago Aburi Sushi and the °Salmon Aburi Sushi. Both were served freshly made, beutifully decked in sets of 3 per order. Each piece was perfectly torched, just a slight singeing on top that completes the aburi sushi. Perfectly paired with their salads that are refreshing and colorful.

Standing high and mighty like a king is the °Edo San Special. Named after Chef Edo San, this epic roll has anago, crab stick, cucumber, topped with ebiko and cream cheese, and a skewered shrimp to complete the deal!

For the mains, I highly recommend that you order the °Beef Usuyaki. These are rolled beef strips with shiitake mushrooms and bacon. Best eaten hot, and dipped in the runny delicious sauce. Simple flavors packed in that roll of umami goodness! A friend recommends to eat this with some Chahan. Yes, of course, rice! No one can't go wrong with that combination!

Other main dishes I suggest you can try are the °Chicken Teppanyaki and the °Buta Kakuni. The °Chicken Teppanyaki are morsels of chicken cooked and marinated in mirin and soy sauce. I did find this a lil bit salty, so better eat this with rice.

The °Buta Kakuni was surprisingly a complete meal. It is delicately cut braised pork belly in a bed of mashed potatoes and some hardboiled eggs. The flavorful shoyu reduction gives that wholesome salty kick which is balanced out by the mashed potatoes and eggs. If you're going keto or just want to eat lowcarb, this is one of the dishes you can try, just skip the mashed potato. Us mere mortals can barely stand not to eat the whole thing though, with some rice, of course!

Day drinking is welcome here at 102 Izakaya! The hip ambience and the relaxed vibe of the place entices you to chill, eat, and drink! Grab your favorite beers and some sticks of yakitori and kushikatsu too! Happy hour is between 4pm to 7pm!

Don't forget, for all Saturdays of March, it's All You Can Eat Saturday! Probably one of the best times to try the dishes I have mentioned plus other awesome authentic Japanese dishes here at 102 Izakaya! Buffet starts at P490++!!!

102 Izakaya was previously known as a Kushikatsu place serving deep-fried skewered meats and veggies that is why you'd notice some of the table set-ups having a stainless deepfryer in the middle but they set those aside for a while gearing towards a typical after-work drinking place hence "Izakaya". The number 102 was actually the building number and you'd find it similar in Japan where a lot of Izakaya's are named based on their locations. I know Makati is a busy place but locating them isn't that quite difficult so long as you have waze with you.

We were able to sample most of their house specials from the Salad Menu and Starters:
Kani Salad (Php195) and Fresh Tofu and Seaweed Salad (Php210).
Edo San Special – Php450 which Consists of Anago, Crab Stick, Cucumber, Ebiko and Cream Cheese
Salmon Aburi Sushi – Php195
Tsukune – Php165 - Japanese Chicken balls
Beef Usuyaki – Php345 - rolled beef stuffed with shiitake and bacon
Spicy Tori Karaage – Php195
Kani Tamago Aburi Sushi – Php165
Chicken Teppanyaki – Php230 -
Buta Kakuni – Php310 - braised pork belly with shoyu reduction

Some of the highlights were:
Kushikatsu (can be ordered per stick but with a minimum of 3 sticks on 1st order)
*They have Pork, Chicken, Beef, Squid, Shrimp, Salmon, Quail Egg, Shiitake Mushroom, Eggplant and lady Finger priced below 55Php each
Yakitori (can be ordered per stick but with a minimum of 3 sticks on 1st order)
*They have Bacon and Quail Egg, Bacon and Asparagus, Salmon Balls, Shiitake Mushroom, Chicken (Thigh, Liver, Gizzard, Skin, Tail) , Umami Corn, Bacon and Asparagus all priced below 85Php

My favorites were the Spicy Tori Karaage, Beef Usuyaki and the Chicken teppanyaki. All were flavorful and unique. The rest were equally appetizing and delicious I am pretty sure you'd enjoy them alot. They have other selections you may like the Ramen, Udon, and Don Buri.

Overall, the price were not bad considering the quality of food, the service and the ambience - it won't disappoint.

Located at the heart of Makati, Salcedo Village, 2nd floor above Bonchon, this place is perfect for lunch breaks, after work hangouts, with friends or even family! Izakaya is a bar concept known around Japan for their inexpensive dishes that are meant to be shared, and accompanied by alcoholic drinks.

With food direction headed by Chef Edo-san (he was an executive chef in Balesin, sous chef in Makati Shangri-La Hotel, Manila Hotel to name a few and in hotels around the world), immense yourself with traditional flavors in a contemporary set.

MUST TRY:
- Beef Usuyaki (345php) 6 big pieces of bacon and generous servings of mushrooms wrapped in beef. I especially loved this one. Really tasty and contains my favorite creamy mushrooms!

- Edo San Special (450php) 5 pieces of fried maki with unagi/eel, cream cheese, crabstick, cucumber, and mango. Eat the maki in just one bite. Pretty mouthful considering the size, but you'll experience an enjoyable explosion of flavors!

- Kushikatsu (225php set / 25php to 48php per stick) Try the salmon cheese ball at 48php 2 pieces/1 stick

- Assorted Yakitori (35php-85php per stick) Personally i enjoyed the beef with quail egg and beef with asparagus.

- Chicken Teppanyaki (230php) buttery bite-sized chicken fillet with salad on the side.

Other dishes to try:
- Kani Tamago Aburi Sushi (165php) 3 pieces of thick crabstick with fried egg, seaweed and japanese rice.

- Salmon Aburi Sushi (195php) 3 pieces of lightly seared salmon with japanese rice and garlic flakes.

- Buta Kakuni (310php) soft and savory pork belly on a bed of mashed potatoes with sliced eggs on the side.

- Kani Salad (195php) a staple: mango, lettuce, crabstick, cucumber with tobiko/flying fish roe.

- Fresh Tofu & Seaweed Salad (210php) chunky tofu tossed in leafy greens with light dressing. Love the firm tofu cubes.

- Tsukune (165 php) 6 pieces of sweet soy japanese chicken meatballs in skewers topped with Katsuobushi/bonito flakes

- Spicy Tori Karaage (195php) deep fried chicken with a little kick of spiciness.

Most if not all of the dishes they offer go along well with beer, sake, or any cocktail. Though not a real alcoholic drinker myself, i'm glad that they serve refillable strong barley house tea, that's a plus! Also the ventillation system is improved so the smell doesn't stick to you as much too...no worries about going back to the office after lunch!

Enjoyed the kani salad; kani, mango, greens and Japanese mayo. So fresh and light definitely a good start!

One favorite was the edo san special; a huge roll of anago, crab sticks, cucumber, ebiko and cream cheese. Another was the spicy tori karaage; loved the crunchy and flavorful karaage with just enough level of spice. Another was the beef usuyaki; rolled beef stuffed with shiitake and bacon. And the standout dish was the buta kakuni; ohh so tender braised pork belly with shoyu reduction. Make sure to eat it with the mashed potato as it adds depth.

First, the bad news. 102 Izakaya is on the second floor of ACCM Building (along Valero Street). It would be difficult for a Senior, a PWD (a card-wielding PWD, I am!) and for ladies wearing high heels to negotiate the trip.

Good news is, once you reach the top, you will forget the inconvenience (the sweat and palpitations). That, I guarantee.

I was there. I underwent the trouble of climbing the stairs with my walking stick (I was fortunate that I was with my reliable foodie friends). Go inside the isakaya, I did, huffing and puffing, when I was greeted by a petite eating place with pleasant and interesting wall decors (stickers?), a lighting which was slightly on the dim side but bright enough to allow diners to appreciate the food presentations, tables with wooden unupholstered long benches (settees?) and a staff who were knowledgeable of things they’re selling.

After a few minutes of waiting for my blood pressure to subside, a parade of beautifully prepared food commenced. First, the Kani Salad (kani, mango, greens in sesame dressing, P195) and the Fresh Tofu & Seaweed Salad (fresh tofu, Japanese seaweed & greens in sesame dressing, P210). The greens were oh-so fresh. One comment though. The mango used in the Kani Salad was a bit overripe and the dressing, a tad too much. But otherwise, my appetite was whetted by the appetizers. Another starter I liked was the Tsukune (Japanese chicken balls, P165). Bravo.

The assorted grilled Yakitori (chicken thigh, chicken liver, chicken skin) were fun to eat same with the deep-fried Kushikatsu (pork, chicken, beef, squid, salmon). I liked both but, sorry, I’m biased for skewered chicken, anytime.

The Buta Kakuni, I didn’t so much like. The sauce was rich. Perhaps, too rich for my taste. It was the tenderness that I fancied. Not the pressure cooker-tenderness but the slow-cooking tenderness which made the sauce very flavorful. And yes, the Buta Kakuni was way too fatty for me.

And now we go to the best of the best. Let’s begin with the star of the show, Edo San Special (P450). The presentation was pretty but not too pretty (shades of what-izayaki-is-that?) so as not to steal the attention from the taste. The anago (salt water eel), ebika, cream cheese, crab stick blended well with the cucumber adding texture with a slight crunch with every bite. Bravo times three.

Another dish that deserved a standing ovation was the Beef Usuyaki. Everything that can make a dish delish for the carnivore is here: rolled beef, shiitake and bacon. Just imagine the flavor and texture of the three mixing together. Bravo times three, part two.

Yes, I fell in love with 102 Izayaki despite the physical obstacle or maybe, because of it. All I know, it was worth it. Oh, they also carry Suntory and Sapporo, two of my top favorite (whisky and beer) brands. I do promise myself to revisit and order Beef Usuyaki with a bottle (or two) of Sapporo. And that will happen very soon. Congratulations, 102 Izakaya.

102 Izakaya is a Japanese drinking pub within the street of Valero/Salcedo Village. First of all, the ambiance is very relaxing and chilling. Despite the dim lighting, they have these anime murals/wallpapers which is not boring for me. Usually, a pub is focused on the drinks, and the food that they offer is not that highlighted. It's different in 102 Izakaya. I can say that their food selections are worth ordering and sharing.

Let me highlight the Edo San Special (Chef Edo San's signature creation) (P450.00) - a giant roll of anago, crab stick, cucumber, ebiko, and cream cheese. Each piece is topped with shrimp. It was made creamy and just by looking at it, I'm craving already as I do this review. They say you have to eat a whole piece of it at a time to enjoy all the flavors bursting in your mouth all in one. Each piece is big so I was unable to eat it whole. I tried eating half of it, and it was tasty.

Spicy Tori Karaage (P195.00) - It wasn't that spicy for me and I got to enjoy their karaage with its sweet/salty glaze. I like it even if it's hot or not that hot.

Beef Usuyaki (P345.00) - is another highlight of 102 Izakaya. These are thinly-sliced rolled beef stuffed with generous proportions of shitake and bacon. Each piece is filling! It was flavorful but I can barely taste the bacon  vs the mushroom.

Tsukune (P165.00) - Japanese chicken balls moulded with Takoyaki toppings and subtle sweet protein fix. Each piece was meaty and chunky to be honest. It was sweet and salty. It looked dry but still, it is one of my favorites.

Buta Kakuni (P310.00) - braised pork belly with shoyu reduction. The pork belly was floating in a bed of mashed potato. It's nourished by the shoyu giving it a salty flavor and I like it. The pork belly was tender. It's one of my favorites as well.

Price range is high but it was reasonable. Almost all of the food we tried in 102 Izakaya were good my overall experience is excellent that's why I'm giving them 5 stars.

It's my first time trying 102 Izakaya since they removed the unlimited KushiKatsu bar. We tried this restaurant because of Zomato Gold. The udon is really good! It's probably my favorite udon soup in Makati. It can be similar to Marugame but cheaper.

It was a great Japanese experience! My friends and I ordered several dishes and we shared everything so we can have a bite of everything. We ordered kani salad, beef usuyaki (bacon and mushroom), japanese chahan beef (japanese-style fried rice) and curry tonkatsu. We also tried the fried chocolate for the dessert. Most of the dishes were good and satisfying. The servings were also quite big and were good to share.

It was my first time to try this restaurant during the hustle and bustle of a regular day in the metro. The ambience of the place when I first walked in was pleasant and a kind of safe haven from the hassle outside the streets. The staff was very welcoming and helpful on the get-go. As soon as the food arrived, it looked like it was made to perfection and as mouthwatering as it can be. The food was scrumptious and I made sure that none went to waste. The best was the chiken skin yakiniku. It just melts in your mouth with the right amount of sweet and salty flavor. Overall, the place is great and I would recommend it to others. Definitely going back here someday. Cheers! :)

First Visit:
Service was great! We just had a quick lunch so I didn't have a chance to try the other food. I ordered Torikatsu Miso Ramen. It's just okay for me.

Second Visit:
Had great time eating here. We ordered the following:

-Buta Kakuni - this thing was so tasty. It's highly recommended if your up to partner with rice. Actually i partnered it with maki it was sooo yummy. 8/10

-Marilyn Mon Roll - had a different types of varities on one serving and tasted so so so good. Serving is good for 2.

-Tantanmen - honestly i didnt expect that their ramen tasted good eneough for its price.

As usual service was great. We booked the table 30 mins before the appointed time and they accepted quickly. Loving this place. I think this is my go-to place in Valero if I'm craving on japanese foods. 😁

Food was great and the ambience was lovely. Although I understand that rest is important for the staff, it felt inappropriate for me that a couple of staff members were sleeping at the sides. The person I ate with felt awkward about it just like I did. Sadly, the staff only got up when we were about to leave. Friendly staff though!

What was Osakatsu before is now, 102 Izakaya. Going up the stairwell from Bonchon down below, you get a good feeling as loud colors welcome you. The theme inside is quirky Japanese. The famous Glico running man of Dotonburi in Osaka has gained a lot of weight chugging beer and feasting on fried kushikatsu. You see various memorabilia and folded origami birds taking flight as mobiles on the ceiling. This place certainly has imagination aplenty.

Imagination carried forward to its food as evidenced by its signature, Edo San Special. An explosion of fried and creamy products from the sea headlined by anago or saltwater eel, crabsticks, shrimp, mango and cucumber. Their chef consultant, Edo San, used to be Executive Chef for RVOngpin's Balesin Island Resort and several 5-star hotels. We opted for Beef Usuyaki (P345) and Saba Shioyaki (P315, free with zomato gold being the 2nd highest priced dish). We also got a bowl of Chahan Beef Rice (P110) and Gohan White Rice (P65).

The Beef Usuyaki was rolled beef enveloping enoki mushrooms and bacon. The marriage resulted to a beefy, smoky flavor that keeps going smoothly then takes a twist with the light Japanese onion steak sauce. This is best paired with the Beef Chahan (fried rice).

The Saba Shioyaki is grilled salted mackerel with a bit of crisp. This sardine is meaty, smoky and easily separated from the fishbone/s. Dipped in the mirin and vinegar sauce, it is seafood nirvana with a bit of gohan rice.

Service was very cordial and warm. Our server, though minding other tables as well, showed us the attention we needed to thoroughly enjoy our dinner at 102. There was a table of Japanese ladies enjoying their fill of beer, kushikatsu and yakitori. It must be good to have found a spot that reminds them of home.

Ordered Buta Kakuni (braised pork with mashed potatoes and eggs) and spicy seafood ramen under Zomato Gold promo (buy 1 take 1). The braised pork tastes good while the seafood ramen doesn’t taste like ramen and is just bland.

Response to our zomato online booking was immediate, even after revision of time. Food were soo good, although a bit of kitchen delay due to the friday night crowd. My favorite includes the edo san maki and beef usuyaki. Will definitely be back soon!

First time eating here, but I would still like to come back again. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is good. We had the salmon sashimi, which was fresh, but the serving was a bit few. We also got ramen, which was very much worth it for its price. I'd like to try more food when I return for sure - looks like they have a lot more to offer based on the menu :)

Good food, polite crews, nice ambience and strategically located inside Makati CBD. Perfect for group lunch. Better to dine in using Zomato Gold.
