Excellent Chinese food. service was great and the price very reasonable. It is worth every cent and seconds spent at Tai Koo. Will definitely be back and recommend Tai Koo to everyone. ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»

This growing HK Roast restaurant used to be my go-to comfort food after a tiring day of work, but after an incident back in May, I swore to myself that I would never go back. I resorted to writing a scathing review. Since then, I'd look at the place with melancholy.
However, about a week ago, the co-owner of the restaurant reached out to me. He sincerely apologized for what happened and also expressed remorse towards the fact that it took a while for him to reach out to me.
After explaining what he's been doing to improve the quality of service his restaurant provides, he then implored me to give Tai Koo a second shot.
While I was hesitant, his sincerity convinced me to give the restaurant another try. After treating me and my colleagues for dinner, he further expounded on the story of his restaurant and the challenges they faced as a whole.
After the dinner, I'm glad to say that they are slowly winning me back. While there is a lot of room for improvement, I believe that Tai Koo is pushing itself to surpass the quality of service and food it provides.
If you're at the Podium or Salcedo Village, I recommend that you try them out. Their food doesn't fail to leave me with a filled belly and a full smile.
This dimsum/hk joint only opened a few weeks back near my office in Salcedo. I have eaten here 10x already. It's that good. This is my go-to lunch place and food is very cheap for the quality. Comparable to my daily lunch when I was working in HK!!!
Food's great, ambience & service were excellent, plus you get your money's worth. I really like their location in Salcedo, pretty central. Order the bacon siomai if you get the chance, too. Will definitely come back!
Ilove the taste of food at very reasonable price. Come en visit and have an awesome experience!
I initially had a bad experience with Tai Koo Salcedo because of their bad service. I am happy that they took the concern seriously and addressed it right away. A very grateful thanks to Floyd and Mark of their Podium branch. Excellent customer service and to Ms Eenah for the proactive action. οΏ½
Had an issue when I had dinner , They did a quick service recovery which I greatly appreciate good food and quick service recovery whatβs not to like.
Good place, but very less portion vs price. Must try is Brocolli with Burnt Garlic and Oyster sauce.
Craving for that HK roast pork, char siew, soy chicken and duck? Fret no more, as Tai Koo is here to save you from that craving. They specializes on those mentioned food with affordable rice meal sets and combinations of your preferred meats. For this particular visit though, I noticed they have launched additional items on their menu such as sweet and sour chicken, beef with X.O sauce, pork humba and fried chicken.
I liked their fried chicken as it is crunchy on the outside but juicy on the inside. It was seasoned well too.
Most of the people who knows me would know I love sweet and sour dishes to death and I have quite a high standard for it. Fortunately, I liked Tai Koo's version as the sauce was of right balance between the sweetness and tanginess. More so, I specifically liked its crunchiness. The pork humba goes well with rice especially its sauce. Lastly, as for the beef with xo sauce, the beef was tender and goes well with the xo sauce on top.
Authentic Chinese Food π
The food tastes really good, plus it's one of the affordable restaurants in the area. The service is fast and they have kind and approachable crews.
We got to try Tai Koo plates. Each 'plate' consists of your choice of roasted meat (wagyu beef, white chicken, roast pork belly, soy chicken, or Hong Kong style roasted chicken) and it also includes fried dumplings, buchi, soy egg, garlic bok choi, Chinese sausage, and steamed rice, so you can say each plate is really filling (though it's good for one heavy eater like me). I like the Wagyu Beef, and the Roast Pork Belly (which I find it so Filipino). That salty and crispy pork skin got me! The White Chicken is quite bland that's why you need to add some ginger or soy sauce/calamansi. The Soy Chicken was savory and a bit sweet. I like it as well. At some point, I kept on munching the fried siomai (I don't know why, I like it haha).
Price point is average and I think it was reasonable. Tai Koo definitely belongs to my list when I look for roasted chicken and other Asian cuisines.
Was able to sample a lot of their dishes. Tai Koo highlighted one of the recent additions to their menu: Tai Koo Plates.
Sulit serving of your choice of viand/protein + a generous side of rice, 2 pcs fried siomai, soy eggs, bok choy, sausage, and buchi! All for under ~Php300!
Everything was so flavorful, down to the sides. But my favorite(s) would have to be the roast pork belly and beef wagyu plates. The three-meat plate is also a great option bec you get to try 3 kinds of protein in one sitting.
Their Tai Koo sauce is delicious and was a great addition to the meals. Had a nice consistency and really elevated the flavors of the dishes. ππ½
Presentation was nice, but they have to work on touch-ups before serving because the plates were very oily. The oil streaks/marks really distract from the beautiful plating and make it seem messy.
Ambiance was alright. Had a slightly fastfood-y vibe to it. On-street parking available outside the resto but difficult to find a free spot.
Finally tried here at Tai Koo, Salcedo branch. It's a HK-inspired restaurant specialized in roast and dimsum dishes, owned by locals! For those who like Hong Kong cuisine, Tai Koo's one of the best options out there. So if you're craving Cantonese food within the area, try this one out. Here's the food we tried so far:
Dimsum:
β¨ Fried Gyoza - This 4pc-gyoza is quite small but it got a right balance of meat and veggies inside.
β¨ Hakaw - Love this! The shrimp was cooked just right and the wrapper's smooth and not thin enough.
β¨ Fried Sharksfin - Sulit, this crispy-dumpling had juicy meat inside. Definitely a must-try!
β¨Chicken Feet - A must-order!! A piece was big enough to satisfy your dimsum-cravings.
β¨ Bacon Siomai - Haven't had the chance to try this one. It looks sinful but appetizing.
Rice Toppings:
Tried the platter that comes with rice, buchi, sausage, egg and bok choy. Very sulit for less than P300. Recommending any of this but favorites are CHAR SIU and SOY CHICKEN toppings. It got the right amount of sauce, and it's good for sharing if you're getting some dimsum on the side.
Wagyu Beef is different from the legit wagyu beef, don't expect much but you'll still like it 'cause it's beef and rice, and Tai Koo had a different (but good) take on how it's cooked and served. Had white chicken too but it had a bland taste, good thing there's more sauce to dip it in. Pork belly was so-so.
Milk Tea (P68) - Happy with this drink but would love to have pearls or jelly in it next time. Not bad for a P68-drink though.

Tai Koo HK roast is a must go to place when you crave for HK roasts like duck, chicken, pork and many more. I first tried this in serendra and occasionally through food panda. With a very affordable price you will be able to taste all the cuisines from ricebowls, to dimsum and many more. Also, their milk tea is good. It does not feel βsugaryβ though I recommend it to have a stronger taste of the tea, to make it more authentic in taste, since the sweetness is already perfect, it is not the typical super sweet milk tea. It is quite refreshing. Overall, will always be part of my to-eat list.
Lunch time.
Decided to try this place - Tai Koo HK Roast, a few steps away from the Salcedo Saturday Market.
We were three so we ordered the Assorted Roast Platter:
White Chicken - with ginger sauce
Soy Chicken - good to pair up with soy sauce with calamansi & chili oil
Pork belly - drizzled with its own sauce. Panalo! Crunchy skin & the meat is tender
Char siu - still find it sweet for me
Duck - for the win!
Milk tea
Sprite
Good food.
Good service, very accommodating for our extra request of ginger sauce, more iced water.
The cashier even offered to take our family pic.
The price? I think we save on costs in ordering the platter rather than the rice meals or a la carte. We got to try each of their best sellers. There were few pieces left for our dinner.

Pag nakapunta ka na sa Hong Kong, parang lasang kalye na mga chinese / hong kong food dito compared doon. Etong Tai Koo naman nakaiiba! Akala ko nasa Central ako eh lintek nasa Salcedo lang pala ako. For the price masasabi ko bawi ka. Ubod na mas mura pa kesa Hong Kong. Heto pa, open 25hrs pa yung Tai Koo branch na eto! Oo tama pagbasa mo, 25hrs. Saan nanggaling yung extra 1 hour? Try niyo nalang Tai Koo para malaman niyo. No photos ako, check niyo nalang instagram nila.
Tai Koo is your answer to roast cravings when suddenly you remember your trips to Binondo, Singapore, and Hong Kong. This spot in Makati is also one of the more affordable stops for lunch and or dinner. Their location gives you a vibe of street food but this time with much comfort and accessibility.
We had a taste of all their popular roasts. These were Roast Duck, Roast Char Siu, Roast Pork Belly, White Chicken and Soy Chicken. Each of these meats was marinated for days, giving it a balanced flavor regardless of bite. I love the Roast Duck the most, it was really tasty and lean for a change.Β Β
Our table also got dimsums that they serve here. We had two types of Siomai, Pork and Japanese style; Shark's Fin Dumpling and best selling Hakao or Shrimp Dumpling. All of these are only between Php 68-88 only.
A great taste of hongkong food, especially duck and chicken roast rice. They also have noodles to compliment it. I like the chicken feet also.
Yesterday, it was way past lunch time, I didn't eat yet, so I felt like I was starving. I was in the mood for some Chinese, but not really in the mood to leave the office to eat. With that, I opted to get some food delivered through the FoodPanda app.
Tai Koo HK Roast had been on my bookmark list for some time. See them in FoodPanda made me happy and I didn't think twice on where to order. It did however take me some time to decide what to order, as I wasn't there ro ask a server for their best seller. When I had finally made my decision, I went with the HK Roast Duck & Wonton Tossed Noodles, and Broccoli Flower with Oyster Sauce & Garlic.
From the get go, as soon as I opened the lid on my noodles, I could tell that they stuck together and that they were a little gummy. With a good mix and pouring some of my broccoli sauce in, it unstuck a bit. The noodles were indeed tasty. The duck was pretty good too--soft and tender. Loved its flavorful skin. The wontons were very meaty and chunky. No extenders which is a plus for me. The broccoli was perfect. Crisp and still had a bite--certainly not overcooked which happens in a lot of places.
Food: 4.0 - Really good, even with the gummy noodles.
Price: 5.0 - For the portions, location, and quality, I would say that their prices are very doable.
Service: 5.0 - Food was delivered pretty quick, in about 45 minutes.
Ambience: N/A
Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Perhaps they can used a different kind of noodle. But I checked here on Zomato and some pictures have a different kind of noodle. So I guess, it's better to just eat there instead.
Where have Tai Koo been all my life?
I finally found my comfort food!
I fell in love with their HK Roast Duck Rice... It's just so juicy and bursting with flavors! It almost tasted like lechon! (jk) and the Char Siu Pork Rice tasted something like sweet hamonado. I also looooove their brocolli with oysters! Wish I can dine here again next year!!
Every night ata ako kumain dito last last month.. hehe 24hours! Perfect! Sarap ng food. Comfy food! Babait ng staff. Value for money is 5πs!!
There's no beating around the bush here. Tai Koo HK Roast serves up an array of quality roasted meats, dim sum, and noodle soups. Yes, no need to go out of the country to experience authentic Hong Kong roast.
Tai Koo is known for its HK Roast Duck, which is easily one of the best renditions in town. Their version of HK Roast Duck has plump, juicy, and tender meat with crisp skin. It's luscious without being too oily.
Other usual suspects are on the menu and they all come at pretty reasonable prices given the excellent quality of the dishes. I recommend going for the Tossed Noodles. It's hard to believe that simple noodles could be so satisfying, but these, well, these noodles are beyond belief.
The noodles alone are seriously flavorful and tasty to boot, and when topped with Char Siu Pork, Roast Pork Belly, Soy Chicken, or Roast Duck, the whole tossed noodle concept is taken to the next level. All in all, a well-balanced dish.
Don't sleep on their dim sum too. Dim sum literally means to 'touch your heart' and the dim sum at this restaurant do just that to me. My favourites are the har gow (prawn dumplings), pork and shrimp shiu mai, bacon shiu mai, and fried sharksfin dumpling.
There's no doubt Tai Koo HK Roast has it right when it comes to 'Hong Kong Style' cuisine and there's a reason why this restaurant is fast becoming a Makati institution. If you're hankering for quality HK Style dishes, then this place is a must-try.
*No reservations here, but you can order take-out or have your food delivered like I always do.
Definitely my go to place for my constant noods craving. Tai Koo is such an underrated Taiwanese place that deserves more appreciation wew! My fave order would have to be the Charsiu pork and dumpling soup which is soaked it a great soup broth perfect to fill your stomach on a cold and windy day.

Itβs my first time to visit their place. Out of my curiosity while people choose to eat here during their lunch time. I ordered Soy Chicken Rice + Bao Bites + HK Milk Tea. I love their chicken rice it made me feel that I miss Singapore already. I hope to go back here and try their duck roast.
Portions good, price good. The restaurant does not have a toilet- kinda thought this is a legal requirement. They suggest using VCorp toilet- Itβs far away, you need to go through security & itβs a disabled toilet that is locked most of the time.
Sitting quietly on a Sunday lunch along L.P. Leviste st., we decided to try this roaster place that we often see whenever we jog around Salcedo Park.
We ordered:
Char Siu Pork + Soy Chicken Rice Combo - both the Char Siu Pork and Soy Chicken are full of flavor, not salty and very tender and moist. The rice is similar to japanese rice so this one will really fill you up.
Gai Lan with Oyster Sauce and Garlic - this one is cooked so simple and yet perfect. Feels and tastes so homey. Oyster sauce and fried garlic bits seasoned the blanched gai lan leaves.
Bacon Siomai - imagine siomai wrapped in bacon (not in wonton wrapper), you will get the picture. Both the siomai mixture and bacon are moist and tasty. A marriage of western and eastern flavor. Too bad, an order comes with only 3 pieces. Good thing is itβs affordable for only Php88 per order.
Hakaw - tastes the same with the bigger chinese restaurants in Binondo but is cheaper, at Php88 also. Comes in 4 pieces per order.
All in all, this place is sulit to your budget.
One thing, though, service water is not available. So you will need to order a bottle of mineral water for Php30. But nevertheless, the great tasting food they offer compensates for this.
Ordered from Taikoo HK Roast for delivery via foodpanda. It's like the meats we ate in smoky food stalls in Mongkok.
We had the Meat platter- which has Char Siu Pork, Roast Pork Belly, White Chicken and Soy Chicken accompanied by the wonderful sweet soy dipping sauce. All the meats were fresh and tasty.
We also had Hakaw and Pork & Shrimp Dimsum - which were quite good.
Excellent service. One of the rare times i went and looked for a tip box. Rare for a budget place in makati. Value for money in makati. Water was served immediately without us asking. I love the brocolli and the rice meals.
But awesome service!
Tried out Tai Koo HK Roast, arrived at around 11:30am, good thing I was still able to get a seat because a few minutes later the place was packed with hungry office workers. I gladly shared a seat on my table since i was dining alone. Share a seat, win a friend! Ordered the Char Siu Pork with Wanton Noodles, the size was good enough for two. Noodles, pork and dimsum was generous. The pork was flavorful, with a glistening sheen. No need to add more hoisin or soy sauce. The wanton though big, had a unusual aftertaste which I can't put my finger on. Overall, it was a good dining experience. My only qualm would be, they don't have service water, so you'll be forced to buy their bottled water.
Good food plus value for moneyππ»
We tried the Wagyu Beef Noodle Soup, HK Roast Duck and Soyed Tofu. Very satisfying!
Point for improvement would have to be the ventilation of the restaurant. Customers tend to smell like roasted duck after leaving the restaurant. But kudos for the great service by the crew.
I saw tai koo when i had my haircut in felipe and sons at adamson centre. Growing in a family with love for chinese food i was already curious the moment i saw the roasted ducks hanging by the kitchen window.
I havent tried eating on the restaurant itself but i have tasted the food via food panda delivery. We ordered 2 rice meals (charsiu pork meal and lechon macau meal) with a separate order of brocolli cooked in soy and garlic. The total bill was around 500 pesos and which is reasomable enough in my opinion due to the quantity of each order. Both meals were good considering it was already a delivery food, i gues its way better when you order it fresh in the restaurant. The vegetable dish was also hearty and the brocollis were crisp and plump.
Overall my experience with Tai Koo has been a good one and im looking forward to eating at their restaurant.
Order the Roast Duck Rice meal and you wonβt regret it. The taste is similar to that of HKβs roast duck. They come with free soup as well so thatβs a plus for a soup lover than me. Be sure to come here before or after lunch as the place gets packed during lunch time. The waiters didnβt help out in finding seats for us as well and we had to stand up and look for a table to finish.
Yemeeeeen! All of their food is a must try! Im glad they are just on the ground floor of our office building. Yes! The place is always full. Marvin agustin can always be seen here maybe because he is one of the owners and his co owner is gwapo too. Alot of showbiz personalities eating here so better go here! Hehe. The vibe of the resto is clean orders came fast too i havent tried eating here since im a workaholic and always preferred To Gos. Well, soon ill try. I believe they are available for delivery thru Food panda. They close late like 11pm. So thats a catch! Heres my ratings!
Char siu pork ice meal- 9/10 best seller! Just bec rice is konti Haha @158
Roast pork belly rice - 8/10 again rice is konti Haha but the pork belly is yummy pero grabe yung taba ang laki compare sa laman! The skin is crispy though @158
Char siu pork and wonton noodles soup 8/10 - the noodles is kinda tough but the soup and pork and wonton is something to die for. Add some chili sauce and boom! @188
Pork and shrimp siomai - 9/10 yummmy! The chili sauce is the key! No allergy attack @88php
Hakaw dumplings - 8/10 i love the taste but sadly i have allergy with shrimp (only experience this when the shrimp is not so fresh but my allergy is rare)and had my attack when i ate this. @88php
Gai lan veggy - 10/10 i love this! @78php
Brocholli flower - 10/10 decent pieces. Yummy sauce! @98php
For To Gos there's a small fee for the containers i think.
Good old go to place for weekday lunch. Reasonably priced, ok serving size and value for money. I Like their free salty soup. Already tried all their dishes with rice, but my favorites are the roast duck and charsiu. Charsiu noodle soup is good and filling too! Will try to order their dimsum next time.
This underrated Hong Kong Roast restaurant in Salcedo is sandwiched between a bank and a bar.
The first thing you notice is the hanging cuts of dripping white chicken, crispy pork, and duck. The ambiance is pretty straight forward with its black walls, red interiors, and wooden fixtures. It's clean and the waiters are accommodating.
What you should order:
Roast duck rice - Their roast duck has crispy skin and tender meat which is complimented by the 3 sauces that they will serve with it.
White chicken and Roast pork rice - This was an excellent dish, both the white chicken and crispy pork were tender, moist and tasty. Remember to ask for extra ginger sauce.
Pork and Shrimp Siomai- The siomai was meaty and moist. You can see see the pieces of shrimp on the dimsum.
Bokchoy with garlic- This was steamed just right and was accentuated by the garlic and oyster sauce on top of it.
Definitely a place where your money has value. Will
MUST Haves:Β
Char Siu Pork and Wonton Tossed Noodles (ask them for extra Special Sauce, its sooo good!)
Bacon Siomai (who can go wrong with Bacon???)
This is true value for your money. The serving size is more than enough to fill you up. You have to take my word for it and try it for yourself.Β
Oh and as for the Bacon Wrapped Siomai, the bacon is wrapped in succulent shrimp dumpling and steamed. So you can expect that the bacon is not crispy. Its cooked but not as what everyone expects. Personally i liked it, as the fat from the bacon gets sucked into that wonderful dumpling.
Yes, I'm back at Tai Koo because I am craving for a noodle soup. I got White Chicken and Wonton Soup for Php208.00.
The serving is big enough for one person. You can actually request a refill or additional soup because of the overloaded ingredients.

"Tai Koo HK Roast" Salcedo Village, Makati
Since we heard that thereβs one βHong Kong Restaurantβ just opened nearby our place, we didnβt hesitate to go and try. We visited the one in Salcedo Village, Makati. Tai Koo restaurant also have branch in McKinley Hill, Taguig City. As a bit of information, this restaurant opened in month of July 2017 owned and optd. by 168 Serendipity Ventures Inc.Β
You will see those Roasted Chicken's, Duck's and Pork hanging when you get to the restaurant which looks tempting.
We had:
Pork and Shrimp Siomai β Php 88
Hakaw β Php 88
Gai Lan @ Php78
Soy Chicken Rice @ Php 178
HK Roast Duck Rice Solo @ Php 228
I have very strong taste in Chinese delicacies, so their menu didn't satisfy me at all. It's more on like Filipino taste. Even my friends which is chinese mainly from Taiwan and Malaysia says "not so nice"
Well.. One more thing to thank about- Free Soup! hehe

Food is great, tasty, and fresh. The service is also excellent and the place is well kept. I would recommend Tai Koo to anyone who's having an authentic dimsum and Hong Kong Noodle craving!
It's hard to find a decent, reasonably-priced Chinese resto in Makati CBD so Tai Koo's opening in Salcedo Village is a refresher. I've been back thrice since it opened and it has never disappointed me & my friends when we wanted that Chinese food fix. And on those 3 occasions, we always found the place full. So that really says something. Do try their bacon siomai (yum!), their noodle soup bowls, the roast pork belly rice & the regular dimsum & vegetable fare. It's all good.
Came with friends for early dinner and we ordered the following:
Medium Hong Kong Roast Duck - ππΌππΌππΌππΌ
Broccoli Flower - ππΌππΌππΌππΌππΌ
Gani Lan - ππΌππΌππΌππΌππΌ
Bacon Siomai - ππΌππΌππΌ
HK Duck Roast and Wonton Tossed Noodle - ππΌππΌππΌππΌππΌ
Everything was good, value for money, except:
1. There were so many flies and 2. The rice is horrible.

I ordered char siu pork and wonton noodles, and it was so good. The pork was good and very tasty! I also ordered gyoza, didnβt really liked it cause it was deep fried.
A perfect example of a restaurant that has great food and great people. It doesn't hurt that their prices are affordable. They even hold a high standard on the food that they are offering.
Ate here twice in the last 2 weeks. Good food. Seems legit π char siu pork, bacon siomai, duck and wanton noodle, crispy pork belly.. all of these are good.
Great HK dishes at an affordable price. Would recommend the cha sou as well as the noodles with duck. Overall, great place to get a quick bite
The food was delicious, just except hakaw. Hakaw dim sums were not fresh and we couldn't even eat one, so disappointing. The other food had no problems.
