The food is great but quite pricey. They have good hand-pulled noodles. The staff that took my order is friendly and accommodating. She is kind enough to take in my request to not put pork in the Yangchow rice that I ordered.

It’s traditional Chinese cooking, nothing fancy, just the way it was originally made. After a long day, my team and I had dinner here. For just Php 1,260, we were all relatively satisfied, that’s 4 dishes and 3 cups of plain rice. The overall taste showed no signs of MSG, as everything we had was lightly seasoned.

My personal top choice would be the Cube Dried Chili. It was sticky good with hints of spice. The texture was inviting and paired well with simple Garlic Kangkong.

The Adobo Tokwa and Egg was bland, but the portions were good. The Sweet & Sour Fish Fillet was too sweet and lacked the tangy kick it needs. I wish the fish were crispy as well.

MEY LIN
Jupiter, Makati City

A Chinese restaurant that serve variety of savory dishes.

Sept.24,2018

Ordered their Group Meal #2 for Php 1,900 for 4 persons and added one more viand and rice.

YANGCHOW 4/5
I am not into rice anymore for almost a year now, but this rice made me do it again...

SQUID 3/5
This squid dish is so yummy, it is bursting with flavor; but the serving is too small for 4 persons. Natikman lang talaga namin sya, masarap pero bitin! Hahah

STRING BEANS 4.5/5
I am not a fan of string beans, but this dish made me ask for more hahaha .. It is crisp, it is flavorful, though I really cannot guess what the ingredients are, but I like it.

FISH FILLET 3.5/5
A fish that is not fishy! I like that it is firm and juicy, but I think there is something lacking with the sauce. The sauce is kind of bland and i think the sauce should be thick, just saying. Hehe

PATA TIM 5/5
OH YAAAASSSS! This dish is the best! Awesome sauce, falls of the bone and soooooooo tender. I have nothing more to say. Thumbs up!

CUAPAO 4/5
It is best partnered with the pata tim, love dipping it to the pata tim thick sauce...

LEMON CHICKEN 4/5
Sauce consistency is thick and flavorful, I love it. I just think that it is better if the chicken skin is crispier.

Visit their branches and taste the flavorful dishes that they offer, it may be kind of pricey ... but for me, the flavors are blended well and the quality is there...

Mey Lin food is very good. We liked the braised beef noodles the best followed by the dried string beans with an excellent pork relish. 3 cups chicken is good but lacking in sauce. Chicken Feet was ok - not as good as the best we've had in other restaurants. Washed down all of this with a couple of bottles of Tsing Tao beer.

Mey Lin has been a household name if you want good Chinese dishes. Since I was young, their hand-pulled noodles has been my favorite. I remember we were there every week. A lot of new restaurants put up and there have been tough competitors, gives you a chance to compare.

To reminisce the old times, our family lunch was to dine at Mey Lin. Aside from the usual noodle soups, we ordered Black Tokwa, Pork Blood, Spinach with two eggs, Squid with Special Sauce, Xiao Long Pao, Raddish Cake, Steamed Dumplings, Eggplant in pot, Stir-fried Kidney, and Oyster Omelette. Everything was still good as it used to be. My favorite is the squid with special sauce. I have tried many restaurants, yet only they can produce a good version of this.

I also love the condiments they have on the table: unlimited coriander (best to add in oily foods like oyster omelette, to give a fresh taste), chopped chili (to give that extra spice), and one of the yummiest kiamchay (salted preserved vegetables) which is a great add-on to noodle soups.

The place is always crowded and full, which is a good sign for business. Staffs are sometimes unpleasant though. Price is okay for the food served. They have parking on the streets and in the basement.

ADDICTING. That’s the only way to describe the Crispy Squid with Special Sauce. Well, it’s not actually squid. It tasted more like cuttlefish. They’re sliced really thin and air-fried to a crisp, then drizzled with some sweet-savory special sauce. Crispy Squid with Special Sauce (PHP 310)

I had so much fun eating here. I love their fresh vegetable rolls and they were huge, we ordered a couple as appetizers and I totally regret it because I ended up not having space for all the other food we ordered haha.

Price for the food is mid range to high depending on what you get but the quality is good and unlike other Chinese restaurants they have an easy hand on the sodium.

The thing I didn't like was that they served everything one by one and well we were hungry already so when the last dish was served we were already full because it took a little too long.

You know you're in a Chinese resto when you hear loud clanking plates and rude waiters. My favorite here are their hand pulled noodles. It's like a magic show seeing them from the clear kitchen windows. AL dente when served at your table and tasty even without any toppings.
Of course the classics would be sweet and sour pork, spicy fried squid, patatim and black taosi with tofu. They have mastered everything about Chinese cuisine! It's a little bit pricey than MXT but much cheaper than Gloria Maris so it's just perfect for a Sunday family lunch!

Meylin is a tried and tested place for Chinese cuisine. If you had the hand-pulled noodles, try their masterpieces next. The Sichuan and Taiwan dishes are prepared well and fast. But watch out for the spice.

I recommend the Ansio Beef, a version of the beef stew. Squid in Special Sauce, finely sliced squid bathed in very light soy. They are also the best at stir-frying String beans.one of my favorite never-fail places in Makati that satisfies.

An old, respected name in the Chinese food business. Their quality remains the same over the years. My favorites here would be their pata tim and squid with special sauce (to be found nowhere else...). I like their century eggs which are always runny. Fried beancurd makes for a nice appetizer. They also serve a few Sichuan dishes which are passable. A recommended joint.

It was my first time to visit this restaurant, and so I followed my friend's suggestion to order noodles. We ordered shrimp dumplings to share, and noodles for each of us. I chose the seafood noodles in snack size (the noodles are available in two sizes -- snack and regular). Although the snack size is the smaller one, I was surprised to see that the serving was big. If it's your first time, I suggest you only order the regular when you're really hungry, or when you're planning to share it with someone else. Another thing that also came as a surprise was the amount of seafood, there were quite a lot. The noodles also tasted great! Later on, I learned that their noodles are hand-pulled in their kitchen!

The restaurant doesn't serve hakao/hakaw, but they do serve shrimp dumplings. I was happy to see that there were more shrimps inside each dumpling than the usual hakao in other restaurants.

It's not the best Chinese restaurant, I agree. But it's a great go-to place whenever you're craving for Chinese food. I'm happy with both the food and the service so I'm definitely going to bring my family here next time!

Mey Lin is a Pot and Noodle House.

Hold that thought.

When you enter this house, ask for the Pata Tim instead. Served unassumingly on a plain white plate, one wonders how it could possibly be a house specialty? No fancy cut veggies? No ceremonies? No special instructions on how to enjoy it?

Answers to all questions: It is. None. None. None.

With the popularity of its Pata Tim, Mey Lin probably has not much time on its hands to do any special treatment for the Pata Tim. Half of their kitchen is dedicated to handpulling noodles while the other half tries to catch up with the demand for hot and quickly served dishes, Pata Tim included.

Try to go beyond the looks and you might find yourself doing a hee then a haw upon eating this delicious pork leg. The meat is so tender and some parts of the leg don't need much chewing because they literally melt in your mouth. The latter part is amazing because you hardly see much fat in the Pata Tim (and we all know that fat is much of the reason why pork melts in one's mouth). Oh you see lots of its golden maple skin and lots of lean meat, but the fat is barely a fourth of an inch thick.

It is bathed in a glorious brown sauce redolent of the aroma of five spices. The sauce is the texture of honey; smooth, silky, sticky, yet its sweetness is tempered down by a little saltiness from the soy sauce.

I strongly recommend that you order this with lots of steamed cua pao or jasmine rice lest you find yourself barely able to stop from using your bare hands to pick all that delicious meat and lick all that sauce from your fingers.

Ordering the Pata Tim is, of course, just a suggestion. If you prefer to order some pot or some noodle, go ahead. After all, Mey Lin did put its name on these dishes. This leaves more Pata Tim for me.
