Best news ever for ramen lovers.  Ramen Nagi is now open for delivery and take out.  Check out their efficient- looking brown boxes that securely holds all the ingredients that make delicious ramen. Last week, I received a box of Butao King and Gyoza via delivery. Yesterday,  it was a package  of ready-to-cook Red King & Butao King.

I tried the Original king and he tried the Green king. The Green tastes kinda like pesto. Both ramens were good and very flavorful. Serving was generously okay for me. What we like about Ramen nagi is we can choose the noodles if we want it thick/thin and soft/hard. Pricey but I think it's okay for the quality. We also tried the pork katsu rolls, it was nice as well. Heavy but good meal.

Been a while since visited Ramen Nagi and this branch & since it’s rainy season, it felt like a good idea to eat ramen. Since I’ve been seeing this flavor on social media, I decided to give this a try.

Overall, I found the curry flavor weak & was more overpowered by hot, spicy taste. The cheese was a good combination to neutralize it. Would have wanted a more curry tasting ramen.

Though this branch has quite a small dining area, it doesn’t change the fact that people are willing to wait to be seated and have their ramen fix.

It was a cold, LPA weekday night when we decided to try Ramen Nagi, this particular branch, for some piping hot ramen.

Here’s what we ordered:

Black King - the toppings are overwhelming, noodles is perfect to the bite. Soup is really tasty. Can’t believe I’m slurping on soup with squid ink. HUGE serving. Seeing other people ordering add-on noodles....impossible! Carbo load! 😂😂😂

Green King - feels like a mix of Japanese and Italian (because of the cheese and the rich consistency of the soup)

Both ramens are served with tender pork slices.

Gyoza - served on a bed of bean sprouts, on a sizzling square plate. Still satisfies that Gyoza craving.

Classic Karaage - WOW! Tender chicken pieces on crispy coating that’s not oily. Wanna try the other flavors next time (7-spice, curry)

Downside is the price point. Quite expensive, but once you get to taste their food, you’d understand why. 👍🏻

I so love Ramen Nagi’s Butao Ramen. Thick and rich broth, firm noodles and tender meat. Butao is definitely one of my favorites already. The Pesto Ramen tasted good as well. You surely get your bang for the buck. Staff was attentive too and quick to do their refills on the sides. Highly recommended in the area.

The black king ramen is what I really like here, also their red king ramen. There are many good ramen places and I can say this one also adds to my list. Their greenbelt 3 branch is also good. Having various branches with consistency and good quality of food is really what makes a restaurant superb. Plus the quality of service of the attendants.

Ramen Nagi is very popular in Tokyo. I first tasted a bowl in Golden Street Honkan. I liked it but my preference goes for Fuunji in Shinjuku. The flavor dimensions offered by Fuunji is quite different because its broth is not just tonkotsu or pork bone based but more fish based. This is the tsukemen/ramen house that introduced me to rich flavors a bit similar to the twins, Mendokoro and Yushoken, which is why I have this bias for their taste.

Don't get me wrong, Ramen Nagi has delicious ramen. It's just a matter of taste preference.

We ordered a bowl of Black King (P410) and the Original Butao (P390).

The Black King could be quite intimidating with this black gob of garlic in squid ink sitting on top of the noodles and chashu. A tip would be to opt for the kakuni or thick pork belly cut instead of the usual chashu. It is still tender because of the presence of a layer of fat. I didn't opt for it because as is, I already am not sticking to my goal of eating veggie based food on weekdays. Anyway, I am entitled to be fickle and will just proceed with the healthier stuff next week or week after. The taste is garlicky, salty and rich. The presence of squid ink is not as enhanced as in the Spanish Paella Negra or Italian Squid Ink Pasta, but it's just peeking through the garlic and is complemented by the pork meat taste.

The Original Butao is a safe order here at Ramen Nagi. It provides comfort with its slow boiled pork bone broth that is said to take more than a day to reach their trademark taste. It is rich and calming steeped in tradition that will remind you of cherry blossoms and lavender fields.

I like this particular branch because it is not crowded when I have my ramen cravings at night.

It was my first time to dine at Ramen Nagi. I always go for the spicy ones so I ordered their Red King. We were seated immediately by the counter and were given a piece of paper where you encircle your preferences and hand it back to the server.

In about 10 minutes our ramen were served.

Although I loved the presentation of the food and the restaurant ambience overall, I still can't help but compare the taste to that of Mendokoro's Tantanmen or Ramen Kuroda's Aka Ramen. To me, it lacked character.

If you are a bit conscious of your calorie intake, the Nagi Star Salad might just be the dish that you may want to consider for a hearty lunch or dinner.

But it would not hurt to add a little excitement and variation on your plan and have the Aurora Shrimp as well.

I can’t even express how much I love the Red King. Everytime I crave for something hot on the stomach, it’s this dish that I think of. I probably even like it more than Mendokoro. It’s spicy (I just order the basic spicy) with huge chunk of pork belly, ground meat, and heavenly spices. No regrets in choosing this instead of the Original Butao (recommended for first-timers).

I liked how you have control of how your Ramen will be prepared (richness, sauce, spiciness, even the hardness of noodles, etc). While I only had Red King in mind, my life partner had Black King, and we ordered Pork Katsu Roll on the side. Black King was too bold for me. But we loved Pork Katsu Roll while waiting for our Ramen to be prepared (15 mins) — 295 for 8 pcs (not bad).

UPDATE: We returned to have Original Butao and their Limited King at the time — Ebi. How I wish it’s not a “Limited” King, because it’s damn good.

Two thumbs up for this small but efficient ramen place.

We had a good experience dining at this place. Service staff are distinguishly fast and approachable, 5/5 for them. Food is superb and customizable — perfect place if you need a quick ramen fix. I highly recommend the butao king.

Btw, i’was delighted that there’s this promotion of a buy1take1 butao king on your birthday month. Might be of good use to some people.

Instead of eating the usual Original King Butao, I chose to try the Green King Midorio. I was unprepared.

It was a blast of unconventional flavors for a ramen bowl. There's basil, olive oil and parmesan cheese. Confused yet? I was, but I loved it! It's like an Italian pesto pasta made love to a sumo ramen and gave birth to this green king butao. Hahahaha

I will come back and taste the Black King and the Red King next time. Wait for my raves!! Hahaha

I've really enjoyed eating here. It was my first time to experience eating ramen nagi. The one thing I noticed is that they were not allowing take-outs, I was thinking that was extra income but they were really focused on giving the customer the real satisfaction that they could not get if they take out the food. A very good stand for a restaurant. The place here in Makati was calm and I had the feeling of being focused on nothing but the food. Food was tasty, best ramen I have ever had. Counting the days when I would next get my ramen here.

I have been to multiple Ramen Nagi branches and tried different variants even their limited kings which are only available during some period of time. You can see my comments/reviews on those ramen variants below. But first, speaking of limited king, I tried their latest or should I say what is available during my latest visit which is their BLACK CURRY KING. I chose this over Red King since this is only limited. The moment I tasted the broth I can say it is as bold as Black King but much more spicier (I checked Chef's recommendation on all my previous orders since I'm no Ramen expert). The difference is the flavor is too strong, much stronger than Black King and the "umay" factor kicks in during half your bowl even if I mixed the broth equally. We also ordered their Salad which is really hyped on word of mouth from various sources, this one we did not enjoy much. For us this is just OK and does not stand-out. With these factors, I'll give this Nagi review just a 4/5. My first Ramen Nagi review which isn't a perfect 5/5.

*BUTAO KING - this is the ramen for starters, the safest choice of all the 4 regular ramen kings. It is the cheapest but it is very worth it. You can even have a free Butao King during your birth month, just check-out their FB page for this

*BICOL EXPRESS KING (Limited King) - This bowl has an exceptional fusion of coconut milk and Nagi's traditional broth with of course the spices. It also includes pork chopped into 3 bite size which is very tender. This limited does not disappoint and will make you crave for more!

*GREEN KING - very flavorful with the herbs and spices highlight the broth. A must try for starters if you're not yet into bold flavors of Black King or not into Spicy flavor of Red King

*BLACK KING - squid ink inspired broth with black curry ball on top of it.  The broth is very bold and obviously a touch of squid flavor in it.

*RED KING - saving their best for last, this is next on my list after their next limited king which is Red Curry King!

Just been here tonight with my kids. I would rate 4 as we love Ramen Nagi. 💐💐 We ordered Butao King. Good for sharing 😊However, they do not refill the soup of the ramen for the second time unlike in Greenbelt. 😔

Just a tip too I would suggest their Gyoza and also, you choose spice #2 first for a bearable spicyness but max it out to #5 or so I guess if you want that Samyang x 4🔥🔥🔥 Korean version 🍲.

I love the ambience of the resto too though I think it's small compared in Greenbelt. I bet they are queueing during business hours as they are situated in Valero Ayala Makati.

My first try at this branch last night for a quick dinner date.

The queueing is fast even if there's always a line. The seats inside are super crowded in typical Japanese restaurant style (like Mendokoro but less walking space). Beware of the bad corner seats near the toilet. Go for the seats outside for faster seating time if you're not a mosquito magnet (I am though). Luckily, we got seats inside facing Valero.

I always get the Limited King but this time they have the Pinoy dishes turned ramen, which is not my thing. I usually get the Black King but I didn't want to get some on my shirt so I got the Midori King instead. It smelled of pesto because of the olive oil and cheese. He got the Butao King as usual, and we shared a gyoza.

Midori King was delicious and this is the first time that I almost finished the soup all the way to the end (I normally can't eat that much). It might be my new favorite.

I hope they have free tastes for the Nagi Chips because I wouldn't want to commit to a big bag without knowing what's inside.

One of the best ramen in town! I love how you can customize your bowl of ramen from the hardness you want your noodles to adding spice and chashu in it. Personally like the thin noodles at Ramen Nagi compared to other popular ramen house. I always order the Original King — it has the right amount of creaminess and saltiness and the tonkotsu pork-broth is tasty and delicious.

My last visit here was on Wednesday, June 20, with my boyfie around 7 PM and it was quite a long queue.

Our favorite ramen here is their OriginaButao King, no vege, and add some spiciness level ❤
For the soup, the chef recommendations is always fine, and I like the soft noodles ❤

We also order their Pork Katsu Roll.
It's my boyfie's favorite.

While me, I prefer getting their Nagi Chips, the original and spicy flavor ❤

As the ramen is in quite a big serving (but last time seems like they got reduce it a bit), those orders are enough for both of us already.

But if you can eat a lot, try their Karage also!

Not the best out there but I think it is savory enough to be rated 4 star. Maybe we ordered too many ramens (all 3 flavors plus 1 free for the bday girl) that is why we were overwhelmed. But I liked all of them especially the Original King Butao ans Red King. Wish we increased the hotness to 8-9 though.

Ramen Nagi, as with its other branch openings, created quite a stir when it inaugurated its outlet in Salcedo Village some time last year. Fans who have seen or who have been to Ramen Nagi’s previous restaurant openings must have gotten a sense of déjà vu with the familiar long lines. It took a few days before everything normalized, so to speak, when the queue and the waiting time became more reasonable.

Visually, the bowl of ramen was pleasing. You can see the richness of the fat going on in the soup. Upon tasting the soup, it was indeed delicious and rich. The noodles is in the right firmness I want it to be. The pork belly is so soft, it melts like butter in my mouth.

Not a fan of ramen but I must say that it’s a good dining experience. You can literally customize your ramen here, from the soup to the level of spice, to add-ons. Servings’ huge! I didn’t even finish my ramen because of the servings’ size. It’s a bit pricey for ramen though but I think it’s already worth the money. Also, service is very fast! Good job! I may not come back here because ain’t a fan of ramen but I will definitely recommend it to my friends who‘ll certainly love this!

Dined here yesterday with my girl. I've been craving for ramen for the longest time now and for the record, we've been to top ramen houses to satisfy pur cravings. This time around, we gave a shot to Nagi.

Instead of gping for the chef's recommendation, i decided to modify my Original King Butao setting its soup base to rich and making the so called "fireball" into intensity level 3. I was surprised how good the soup was!! Flavor is spot on--- soup base is saturated with pork fat, sinful yet so delicious. It reminded me of the the "balut soup" without the stench or "lansa" and is milky rich tasting. Good thing I savoured the soup first before mixing the "fireball" as it kinda ruined the orignal taste. I am a fan of spicy food (I eat raw chilis) but it will ruin the original butao taste giving it a kick that you might achieve if you order the Red Butao perhaps. The pork belly was good as well but i think the noodles are behind what Ippudo and Mendokoro are serving.

The gyoza's on the other hand are good but nothibg to write home about; other ramen houses serve better and meatier versions.

Les ordered the Black King and upon slurping the soup, it immediately gave me a nostalgia that I can't seem to locate at the back of my head. I felt like I tasted it before on my childhood days. The soup, is equally good as the Original Butao but with a different kick of course. She opted for the chef's recommendation but I think they overkilled it with fried garlic. Nonetheless, the ramen was good.

The facility is good but their restroom is a letdown; was stuck there until I got a hang of how to unlock the stucked room lock.

Seevice was good.

I would have given this place a 5 if not for the size of the place. It was too small, we were hoping they have tables on the second floor, but we were only given a table outside.
The staff are very helpful and patient in explaining to us how we should order our ramen.
The ramen is reaaaaaally good!🤩🤩🤩
The best part is that you get to customize your ramen. Everybody enjoyed their food, though it is a bit pricey, super sulit naman.
We cant wait to come back here!

** NEW ITEM ON THE MENU REVIEW **
I recently tried the Tonkatsumen. And im so sorry Ramen Nagi but it didnt work for me. The tomato-broth for some reason gave it a very unusual flavor. I thought it just needed a little something something. The acidity of the tomato was overpowering so i thought it needed a bit of kick so i added black pepper and chili and a little Sesame to blend the flavors together. It was an improvement but it still wasnt working for me. My head saying Maybe but my tastebud's saying No. But then again, i applaud the effort to bring in new flavors to the Ramen World. And im sure there are people who actually loved it.

And i wont bring my rating of the restaurant just because i didnt like a particular item on the menu. Their Butao King is still my go-to comfort.
Now maybe they could serve an extra side of Mayu (garlic oil) in the future? Wink Wink!

** OLD REVIEW **
For my impromptu Ramen fix. Just a stone's throw away from my office. What makes Ramen Nagi different from the others is probably the fact that you can personalize your order as you like it. I love that kind of freedom. Haha.
Anyway, my usual is their Original Butao King without the garlic, veggies and fire sauce (youre probably shaking your head in disbelief). Rich, Extra Heavy Special Sauce, Pork Shoulder, and Extra Hard Noodles. Those with a generous helping of Toasted Sesame Seeds and Bean Sprouts. Mmmm!

Recently opened branch, the feel of the place is better but smaller than the other branches. One of the popular ramen joints, its main selling point is that the ramen is customizable based on the customers' likings (e.g., hardness of noodles, richness of the broth, level of spiciness, etc.).

Not your ordinary noodles. It's your universal noodles.

Am not sure why the chain used "Universal Noodles" for their Philippine branding. But I am sure their noodle soup is not just a fluff. The base soup, which, if prepared like the ones in their Japan branches, is simmered for  20 hours to achieve the intensely meaty, opaque pale tonkotsu broth (beware, the broth here in our country may have lots of cellulite floating). On a rainy afternoon after bank errands, I really cared less, so I ate those fats anyway.

Their Salcedo branch is tucked in Signa Designer Residences' ground floor, along Valero St. (you can get off PBCOM if you're commuting and just walk). One can customize their bowl - from choosing the spices to the firmness of the noodles to be used. I didn't bother doing it, I checked the Chef's recommendation button and am good. The place is small, but they did make a good job designing it you won't feel cramped at all.

I got the original king (more commonly known as butao). With what i paid for (P390), i did enjoy their condiments and side dishes - the ones on the table are salt, sesame seeds, chili powder, pepper, sprouted monggo, and spicy cabbage (like the Korean's kimchi).

If you are looking for something warm, rich, and wouldn't mind adding more adipose tissue to your tummy and you are in Salcedo Village, visit this place, you'd enjoy their soup!

Location is easily accessible. It's not really hard to find this restaurant if you are coming from Ayala Avenue. The restaurant is a little cramped but they provide seats outside.

The dish (orginal butao king) was good. Broth was delicious. We had our noodles hard so that it would be easier to hold with chopsticks. But why was the tamago too salty! Good thing the egg yolk was not 😁

Ramen Nagi opened its latest branch just around the area of our office in Makati! This branch got more of the Japan ramen place vibe compared to their other branches. Set up with the kitchen right in the middle rounded up by bar like table set-up. The place is quite small so expect it to be jampacked during lunch and dinner time.

We visited this branch around meryenda time and it wasn't that full and immediately got our table. My motive for this visit was to finally try out one of the limited Manila Kings. The Binagoongan Ramen! At 1st the sound of it was weird and eeky crazy. But to my surprise it was really good! Got bagnet like pork for its meat toppings with the typical binagoongan eggplant veggies. For the soup base it was the same Butao ramen soup based with just a hint of binagoong taste to give it a bit of sweetness. I love the overall outcome of this ramen. Kudos to Ramen Nagi for being brave to feature such kind of ramen fusion. Can't wait to try out the other two Bicol Express King and Cheesy Kaldereta King. The Binagoongan King is only available until July 10. So better go get it!

My friend and I had dinner here at 6pm. We went early because at 7pm+, the queue gets crazy long. We tried eating here twice before but we would always end up 10th or 12th in line.

It was my first time in any Ramen Nagi and it did not disappoint. The broth was full of flavor, as well as the thick pork belly. The noodles were just right. I guess it helps that you can customize your ramen to your preference. I also love the assortment of stuff (sesame seeds, pepper, crush your own garlic, etc) on the table that you can put on your bowl.

It is pricey at 390 for the cheapest bowl. A bit far from our go-to ramen place in RCBC which has decent 180 peso bowls. But I can say it's worth it. Looking forward to trying the other flavors!

I'm not that fond of ramen, I just tagged along with friends. So, I really wasn't expecting to be blown away or anything. But when I took a sip of the broth for the first time, wow, it was something I'd definitely come back for. I also liked how there was a checklist for your taste preferences; e.g. whether the broth would be rich or light, how spicy the broth should be, how cooked the noodles should be, etc.

The noodles and beef were pretty good, nothing amazing though. We didn't have side dishes either because the ramen itself was rather pricy already. We also had to wait 30 minutes or so before we were seated. Good place anyway!

I'm not much of a ramen eater but I can say that Ramen Nagi's broth is delicious. As for the noodles and spices, you can modify them according to your preference. When ordering, they give you a checklist so you could indicate how spicy or garlic-y you want your ramen, what garnishes you want, and how hard you want your noodles to be. You can also order add-ons. An order of egg (I don't know what makes ramen egg taste different, but they're delicious and I love them) is non-negotiable for me in the rare circumstances I eat ramen.

Just prepare to wait in line in their branch in Salcedo. Our party of seven waited for about 45 minutes to get seated. I suppose 1 or 2 people can get seated more quickly.

We (me and my best friend) had our ramen date here at Ramen Nagi Valero branch.

The store was jam-packed with people eating and waiting for seats. And with that you can say that this one will be worth it, can't you? We were lucky enough to easily get called since we were just two.

The place looked Japanese-ish (with anime scenes as my basis 🤗). We ordered one Original King Butao. Yes, just one cos we both have small appetite and ramen servings are usually big so we always share. 😂 anyways, their ramen was really really really good. Oishiiiiii! They have this checklist for each ramen order so customers can choose how their ramen will be served.

We also had Chicken Karaage. They have different flavors but we chose curry. The chicken meat was really tender and flavorful (you can smell the curry from 12 inches away 😂).

I'm giving a 5 rating cos they took my (work) stress away. And hi to the employee who asked how was our experience with them. Here's my promised review! 😋😂

Went here and ate the original king butao and some gyoza. What's great about ramen nagi is you get to customize your ramen according to your taste. They give you a checklist where you can indicate the hardness of the noodles, the part of the pork you wish to have, the spice level, the amount of vegetables you like, etc. Food tasted really great!!! But since the place is jam-packed with people, expect that the service won't be that fast.

One of my favorite pure ramen places on my must visit list would be Ramen Nagi. They now have 13 branches and have recently opened a busy spot in Makati just below Signa Residences. I was invited to their very first day and it was packed as expected.

This is their first branch with an al fresco provision. I discovered it was quite tough slurping spiced good ramen on a hot weather. So I suggested right away a powerful fan outside.

I've always loved the tasty tonkutsu pork broth Butao or their Original King. More so, my favorite Black King, a squid ink based artisanal ramen. On this sponsored trip, I tried the Green King for the first time, an interesting bowl of mixed fresh basil and olive oil, topped with rich cheese. It was like having Italian pesto noodles, only much better. Its marbled Chasu was amazingly tender and flavorful.

My friend and I also got to try the newest Chicken Karaage Matcha flavor, the only branch that will have this variety. Note that the matcha blended on this moist and tasty fried chicken has a nice bold and bittersweet kick. It is legitimate Matcha, and not your usual sweet green tea.

One cannot take out ramen you could not finish. This policy clearly speaks volumes on how much value they put on quality control.

What is your ramen story? While waiting you can also write down and share it to Ramen Nagi. Their placemats provides an engaging platform between you and them.
