One of Manila's hidden gems. Great value Italian products in a very cozy and intimate setting. Service is good, the food is very authentic and fantastic! Italian wine choices are great with some of my favorites on the list. Definitely worth going back to for lunch or dinner.

I enjoyed their flatbread a lot. The server recommended that I get a half and half which was basically flatbread with melted, creamy mozzarella topped with speck on one side and anchovies on the other. I would probably stick with just anchovies next time. Speck was good bit the anchovies won hands down. Their prosciutto was soooo good that we ate a lot on the side. Buttery soft and not too salty, it was perfect with the bottle of red wine our server recommended. I will definitely go back to this place 😊
If only I live or work nearby, I would be there everyday. Great food, wine, cheese and reasonably priced. Ask for recommendation from Adriano and Gale who are super gracious hosts.
Bonus: Instagrammable place and food!
ITrulli is a good Italian deli and restaurant.
We particularly loved their complimentary bread with excellent olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Had a bottle of Sangiovese. Paired this with an excellent platter of prosciutto and 3 lovely cheeses.
The mains (Angus Ribeye and 3 grilled meats) were just ok.
I've been there a few times since it used to be my "to-go-place after a hard day to drink half a bottle of wine by myself" place.
Service : The owner was here everytime I went there, always careful of details when it's about service, replenishing your glass of water by himself, explaining you about his wines. The kind of things that make me come back to a place.
Food : Well,well,well... I am a real cheese and coldcuts lover, they have some interesting things. For the rest... reading other reviews actually comfort me in my opinion. I highly suspect the fact that I got a food poisonning by eating one of their pizza. Their dough is imported from Italy, there might have been a non-controlled temperature schock during shipment or they aren't really careful about expiration dates (that would be a shame!). But as we say... not guilty until caught.
Ambiance : I would have never entered this place by myself. Very intimidating, elitist. They have blinds outside that cover the dining area so from the outside you only see the fancy selection of bags that they are selling. Lights are way too high, it's hard to feel totally comfortable despite the fact they have top quality furnitures...
Wines : Yes,yes, yes !!!!! This place made me fall in love again with italian wines (and believe me it wasn't an easy task). The selection has been made a very clever way. The menu lay-out could be improved since italian wines are really complicated to understand. I do think that they should reorganize it in a "help me i'm beginner" way.
Prices : For 700-900php you have an absolute decent wine that doesn't taste like what you can find somewhere else.
I will come back, for the wines and the service.
But for me to come back :
- I can't be hungry
- I have to wear almost formal clothes, else I'll look like I don't belong in the place
- I need to have my sunglasses in my pocket !
My favorite Italian Restaurant. They have been very consistent with the pasta, the deli and the wine! Also ordered lamb the last time which was cooked perfectly. It helps that they import their own wine so order a bottle! Not so crazy about the furniture but the mood is very relaxed. Perfect for a date or a spontaneous night w friends!
I love LRI Design Plaza because this is one of the buildings in Metro Manila that house several Art galleries....
During one of my meetings there (Ricco Renzo Gallery), I and my visual artists friends got the chance to try this Italian restaurant and the experience was quite good...
Awesome ambiance, good food and excellent service... plus, AWESOME ITALIAN WINE selection!!!
Will definitely be back here the next time I visit LRI...
Cheers!
When I am nostalgic of Italy I find comfort in Massimo Trulli. I love this place for its impressive wine list, authentic Italian cheeses, prosciutto and cured meats. Chef Victor’s newly launched menu also brings back flavors of the Mediterranean. At first glance the place seems intimidating adorned with fine Italian furniture but once you read the menu the prices are surprisingly affordable!
It is an intimate place to enjoy with good friends who understand refinement, appreciate art and culture. Adriano Stefanutti and Gale Atienza are very hands-on and are gracious hosts. They are accommodating of special menu requests and are great at pairing wine with food.
Massimo is a cozy cafe where wine & food is mixed with fashion (there's a whole display of Italian bags for sale) and even furnishings (some of the 100% Italian madefurnishings are for sale too).
Order a bottle of Italian wine. They have an excellent selection of reasonably priced wines from Prosecco to Chianti Classico to Grappa.
Get the Prosciutto San Daniel & 3 cheese platter (P880) served with in-house bread. Dip the bread in any of their extra-virgin olive oil with hints of herbaceous flavors.
Maybe try the Torrija Vasca (P245), a Basque French toast topped with an ice cream quenelle and nutella creme anglaise. Savpr this with a muscat or grappa.
Good food, good wine, great place! The boutique resto-bar is a small but lovely place. The cheese and prosciutto platter is a must try! Have some wine when you dine. You won't regret it.
