We had dinner yesterday. The food was delicious. I will definitely come back to this place
When they say "jumbo" tempura, its really big! I loved their scallop popcorn tempura too. Cant wait to try more next time especially their salads.
One of the best Japanese that Poblacion has to offer.
Food is good. They were properly cooked and well prepared. I just have one criticism on the tempura though. It's quite salty for my taste. Probably because some guy complained about the bland taste of their tempura. The batter should taste bland because it only adds texture to the actual ingredient. All in all, it's worth it going back to this place.
My usual orders here are...
Salmon Aburi: 5/5 - SO GOOD. The uni on top is just the best. It gives each bite a balanced flavor and texture. I always end up craving for more. 😭
Bird’s Nest with Egg: 5/5 - Also really delicious. There are a lot of flavor and texture contrast happening for every bite.
Will never get tired to come back and order these favorites and all the other items on their menu.
I ordered Pork Katsudon, Shrimp Tempura & Sweet Potato Tempura. I liked everything I ordered. The tempura batter is crispy and tatsy not too thick and can still tatse the shrimp and sweet potato. The katsudon is deep fried perfectly. I just find the katsudon sauce a bit salty ang I like salty food so for me to say its salty it must be really salty. Other than that everything tasted good.
My Japanese food-loving tummy was very satisfied with the food here! We ordered the salmon skin aburi roll, some jumbo prawn tempura, ebi chahan, ika, and scallop nori.
Skip the ika tempura but order the rest of the stuff I mentioned above! The salmon roll was bursting with flavor. They didn't skimp on the ingredients for the chahan. And we really loved the tempura, too. The batter was crispy but not too thick and it really complemented the freshness of the seafood. We were already nearing the end of our meal when we overheard the next table ordering 7 pcs. of the scallop nori. So we got curious and ordered for ourselves, too. Thank God we did because it was really good! If there's a seafood version of lumpia, this is how it should be done. Generous servings of scallop wrapped in nori and coated with tempura batter. Yum! We also got to use Zomato Gold for beer (it's only applicable to their San Mig drinks though).
Lastly, I'd like to give a final shout out to the wonderful servers of Ebi 10 who were very attentive to us (hi Grace!). They made sure to promptly take our orders, clear the tables as needed, and clean up the tempura crumbs in between orders. Make sure to leave them a tip! 😉 See you soon, Ebi 10!
I've always wanted to try Ebi 10 since chancing upon them on Instagram during an unlimited tempura promo. Rewind to 21 days ago, I am seated with my buddies on a corner of a very intimate place which I never thought is situated there after having been invited to El Chupacabra a couple of times.
I tried their Uni Shiso Nori (4/5) and did not regret allowing its creamy goodness to envelop me. The tempura (5/5) is to die for. Their Bacon Yakisoba (3.4/5) (didn't fancy how the bacon was cooked) is enough for two not-so-hungry childlike adults.
This is not for those looking for a quiet, japanese resto who minds smelling of oil and kitchen after a 20-minute dining experience.
This is for those digging excellent tempura at a very reasonable price.
My favorite tempura place so far! The batter is light and crispy. Just what I want!! Their rolls are super flavorfull as well, with well-seasoned rice. Not all Japanese places have flavorful rice on their rolls. The Kani Salad is very good as well. The dressing is not your typical sweet-ish Kewpie Mayonnaise.
FOOD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅
The best Salmon Sashimi its thick and super fresh! I thought it was expensive its worth the price. 1 serving is good for 2.
AMBIANCE 🏅🏅🏅 crowded and super packed
STAFF 🏅🏅🏅
RESTROOM🏅🏅🏅
PARKING 🏅🏅🏅 Kalayaan Parking...Park at
your own risk 😋
Zomato gold is only applicable for San Mig light and not other drinks. Saw a cockroach in their kitchen (we were seated by the counter facing the kitchen)
Staff is very friendly :)
I've heard of this place from an officemate. Since I was looking for some place to have dinner, and I passed by Ebi10, I decided to try their food. I got katsudon and shrimp tempura. All I can say is that their food's great! I want to go back, tag along friends, and try the ones that are good for sharing.
When you want some japanese food at reasonable prices, check out @ebi10ph 👌🏼😋 they have yummy tempura and crazy rolls!! #foodtodaywithdorainmakati #ebi10ph #taraletseat #foodie #foodlover #foodblogger #zomatoph

Loved the intimate vibe here and the food was great. We ordered Salmon Sashimi (with big cuts which I don’t mind), Ebi 10, Salmon Aburi, Senju Roll, Torikatsu, and Banana Nutella Bites. Everything was delicious but the avocado in the roll we got was really hard and sour. We felt that it wasn’t ripe enough to be served. But everything else was really good! Also, since there’s a water crisis in Makati, we weren’t allowed to use the comfort room. We were there for a couple of hours already and when one of our friends sort of begged to use it, that was the only time one of the servers suggested a comfort room near the restaurant which we felt should have been offered earlier. *health is wealth, you shouldn’t hold it* Other than that, we loved the place and we’d definitely go back. We just hope the CR’s usable next time.
We went here on the recommendation of a friend. Knowing the Poblacion area, the restaurant is a hidden gem. If you are not familiar with the area, you will definitely need to ask around where the exact location is. When you get to find it, the feel is like a little specialty restaurant in Tokyo, Only a few seats to accommodate diners. Service is fast And hospitable, and food is very good. They have two sizes for their ebi tempura: small and jumbo. Aside from this there are other tempura items and fusion maki. When you glance at the menu, you’ll get the impression that it’s not that expensive, but I find the servings small, and you will tend to order some more. Making it just as expensive as any other Japanese restaurant. I would definitely go back to this place for dinner with my husband, but the place is not ideal for big groups due to the small space.
Absolutely LOVED the food!
I was not a big fan of Japanese food before, but all the things here made me question myself, and the Tuna Scallop Dynamite fully converted me to a believer!
Ordered a few dishes from here for our light dinner.
Spicy Tuna Roll is yummy! Very good tuna with a slightly spicy flavor. The dish looks picturesque too!
Gyoza was excellent; slightly crispy on the outside with juicy filling.
Chicken Teriyaki was ok.
As the community and popularity grows in Poblacion, Makati, there is a restaurant in the area blossoming and offering an exceptional yet an affordable Japanese cuisine, the Ebi 10. They are located at Tambai Alley, once you reach Tambai at poblacion there is a tight alleyway, pass there and you will see Ebi 10.
My review is for their delivery.
What I ordered: Pork Tonkatsu, Salmon Sashimi
Delivery time: On-time. I ordered food at 1:50pm, got my food at 2:16pm as mentioned at the site :)
Packaging: Efficient, although both could have been delivered to me in one paper bag instead of 2. But then I remembered that the sashimi was wrapped in a way that it will stay cool, which I guess is the reason for the 2 separate bags.
Food review: Salmon Sashimi 5/5 - it was fresh, slices was plentiful (sorry, I didn't count before eating), one order is more than enough for 1 person; Pork Tonkatsu 3/5 - it was a bit dry, but was saved by the sauce which was perfect. I scraped off most of the garnish but other than that everything's good.
The best and juiciest. I'm surprised. The fatty salmon is amazing. You should try this place. I'm gonna come back for sure. The price is ok too.
Managed by Celine Viray, Ebi10 is a very intimate space where guests can share excellent tempura with their friends or S.O.’s after or during a night out in the busy streets of Poblacion.Ebi10 is located at Tambai Alley on 5779 Felipe Street in Barangay Poblacion, in a tight alley way that leads up to their hidden watering hole: Kampai. The space is small and could probably seat around 20 customers inside and 4 customers outside. [Read More]
Poblacion was starting to wake up from its slumber when we headed to our next stop. With the sun almost down and traffic starting to build up, we scurry our way to Tambai Alley and headed straight to the last store which is Ebi 10. . You might have seen a bunch of posts of Ebi 10's ginormous tempura on social media. Its name alone is a play of ebi tempura. (Well, I just assumed that so don't take my word for it.) But this Japanese store has a lot more to offer.

Best place for Japanese quick fix! Ebi 10 is one of Poblacion's hole in the wall. It was their 1st lunch opening when we visited. Place is all ours since we were the only customer over lunch. I was totally in awe of the location. Place is a hidden gem. Ambience is also great since place was designed with Japanese vibe.
We ordered Tori Chahan, Spicy Tuna Roll, Jumbo Shrimp, and Chicken Karaage! Food is superb and delicious! Tori Chahan, a bowl of fried rice, had big serving, good for 2 to 3 pax (for women). Their sushi are the best. I am not a fan of spicy but Spicy tuna roll was well seasoned with mild spicy only. Their Jumbo Shrimp is legit. Crispy, large, and golden fried tempura. Also, chicken karaage has crispy thinly coating and golden fried as well. It was served with Japanese mayo. All food are well presented and attractive.
This will be one of my go-to Japanese food comfort place. Price is super worth it for the quality of food.
In addition, we were also served with Crazy Maki in celebration of Women's month. Thank you Ebi 10. Amazing experience! I will keep coming back!
My go-to place for a Japanese fix whenever I hang out at Poblacion. My favourites are their spicy tuna or spicy salmon rolls (total value for money); then the Big Tempura and their rice bowls. Beers are cold, too and their service is excellent. Will definitely be coming back.
Best tempura in the Metro. Light , crispy and golden! Order the spicy tuna salad too! They stick to their specialty hence limited items on the menu. Friendly and attentive staff.
I can't believe that this gem of a place has been right under my nose all this time. I love this Japanese hole in the wall that serves one of the best salmon aburi I've ever tasted. I also love their salmon sashimi, crazy maki, and tempura. Try also the bird's nest with egg tempura if you want a new experience. Love this place!!!
The Poblacion community continues to grow in size and popularity. In our group’s recent food crawl, we were all amazed by the increase of food establishments now competing in such a small area.
One of the recent add-on brands here is offering premium yet affordable Japanese, Ebi 10. They are located in a tight alley which you’ll likely miss if you’re not familiar with the numerous side streets here. They are behind Tambai, between One to Sawa and Panaginip.
Ebi 10’s goal is to mesmerize you as they attempt to make anything done the Tempura way. Their batter is unique on its own, it is light, seasoned and served really crispy.
We ordered the following Tempura (price is per piece)- Small Shrimp (Php 60), best selling Jumbo Shrimp (Php 155), Stuffed Mushroom (Php 70), Scallop Popcorn (Php 140), Uni Shiso Nori (Php 195) and Bird's Nest with Egg (Php 120) and paired with a beautiful bowl of Tori Chahan Rice with raw egg (Php 200).
All of these Tempura were placed wonderfully in a basket, designed to be shared by groups.
Our group also had a sushi feast going. We got a number of sashimi pieces as well as maki rolls. Must try for fresh Japanese experience are their thick and pinkish Salmon Sashimi (Php 320) and a generous bowl of Uni (Php 390).
On colorful sushi rolls, we gobbled up fast the newcomer, Rocky Mountain (Php 360) and the popular, Senju Roll (Php 395). Both had a balance of rice and premium ingredients, absolutely no shortcuts.
Finally, a plate of delectable Banana Nutella Bites (Php 135) marked a sweet ending here at Ebi 10. We were all smiles and filled up leaving this hole in the wall Japanese haven.
Whole in the wall. Literally! Tried the large prawn tempura, stuffed mushroom tempura, their scallop maki and their crispy salmon aburi maki. All were great! Loved the Zomato gold partnered with them so we got the buy 2 on 2 on drinks! Great place to hangout and great food!
This is a best value for the buck Japanese Resto!
The Rocky Mountain Roll is the latest super yummy Maki that they serve here. They use Japanese mayo, a special secret tangy sauce with tempura, avocado, crabstick and ebiko for only 360 pesos.
The Jumbo prawns at 150 each is really good as well!
The salmon sashimi and tamago are fresh and taste like true Japanese quality sashimi.
The Tuna and Scallop Dynamite is a spicy dish but you have to wait several seconds before it explodes in your mouth. (another top seller and favorite)
The Salmon Aburi is so yummy and I never tasted a sushi that yummy before. Top favorite too! 2 pieces for 195 pesos
The steak with ponzu garlic sauce is soft, tender and of good quality. They added some sweet potato chips to this dish as well.
The Ebi chahan is good too and everyone should try their signature soup and dish the Ebi10.
For dessert, I highly recommend the banana nuttella bites and the vanilla ice cream Dulce De Leche and fruits.
All in all this resto serves top notch quality Japanese cuisine, good for sharing and at affordable prices!
I'd definitely keep coming back for more!
It's a small restaurant found in an alley right beside Wantusawa. One of THE BEST Japanese food I have ever tasted in my life. Their oyster spicy tuna roll and tempura tasted really good. My boyfriend liked their ramen. One of the few restaurants I look forward to going back to in Poblacion. Highly recommended. ❤
5 star! Yup! I recommend it honestly. This is our newest favorite japanese resto. I love it more than Mendoko.
Their serving of Tantanmen is very special (di tinipid), so big, pwede ishare. Best combination with Gyoza.
Crispy Torched Salmon skin Maki - sarap! One of the best Maki I tasted.
I like their service. Madaming customer but they will assist you and look for your table to clean up.
Will surely come back!
Loved the salmon skin and scallop+tuna rolls, the agedashi tofu and stuffed mushroom! The tori chahan was a bit on the salty side. Servers were friendly and approachable!
This hole in the wall resto always serves the most affordable and delicious Japanese food. Their salmon aburri is to die for!! They have large servings for their rice bowls. The restaurant is quite small so if you’re a big group, it’s best to arrive early.
10/10 would go back again! I got a Zomato Gold membership for this and boy.... it was worth it!
Their sushis were top notch and really satisfied my hunger. The tempuras were high quality and savory too :)
The cuts of the tuna sashimi were thick! And the Tantanmen ramen is actually good for 2 already if you order other items. Yummy Japanese food!
Hidden Gem in an alley in Poblacion! Tiny but well designed interiors. Sushi was really good, we ordered the Tuna and Scallop Dynamite (5/5) and Spicy Tuna Roll (4/5). Tempura was crispy and fresh, not all breading - Scallop Nori (5/5) and Shrimp (5/5). Would definitely recommend this place.
Hidden gem of Poblacion! Food is delicious. Service is fast. Staff is polite, friendly, and helpful. Everything we ordered was good. We ate birds nest, spicy salmon roll, crazy maki, and gyoza. Ebi10 stars.
Good food as usual!
Waiter recommended a sushi roll with scallops on top. It was perfect- flavor wise and presentation
Good service as well!
Tempura had too much breading and taste wise, it was alright. I got the salmon maki and this was really good. I think I could’ve ate all of it just for myself. The ebi chahan was one of the best chahan’s I’ve ever tried in Metro Manila
Second time at Ebi10!!! Great food but service is even greater!!! Shout out to Kuya Rolando for going the extra mile to accommodate our request!!! Salmon Skin roll is the bomb!!!! The batter of tempura is one the best in tempura industry.
Glad we discovered this Japanese resto in Poblacion. All dishes that we ordered are superb! Lobster, scallop popcorn, Scallop dynamite rolls, crazy maki and BIG tempura.
Another affordable Japanese find is Ebi 10 at Poblacion. It’s hidden behind Tambai Alley. So if you need to use Waze or Google Maps, just type in “Tambai” or “El Chupacabra” (it’s opposite that spot).
Ebi 10 is famous for their ebi tempura, but I haven’t tried them yet even though I have eaten here a couple of times.
Here are my top favorites:
1) Gyoza
2) Crispy Torched Salmon Skin Maki
3) Ebi 10 Chahan
Their Pork Tonkatsu is also good, but it is not served with rice.
The last visit I had was kind of disappointing because my friend and I tried the Shoyu Ramen (not part of the printed menu but it’s on their sliding door).
The soup was not hot when it was served to us. I couldn’t eat ramen in that condition, so I told the waiter about it. On the bright side, he offered to change our soup for free.
The ramen is good for sharing if you will order something else. In our case, we had an 8-pc roll.
Bonus points for having a credit card option for payment!:)
Breath of fresh air in the Poblacion area as there aren't really a lot of Japanese restaurants there.
What we ordered:
1) Bacon Yakisoba (5/5)
2) Ebi Tempura (Jumbo) (5/5)
3) Pork Tonkatsu (3.5/5)
This place is unique in the Poblacion area and they serve really good food at affordable prices. The restaurant is quite small, but it's hidden so not a lot of foot traffic. Service is excellent, too. Place is adequately staffed.
The best item in their menu is their shrimp tempura. Each shrimp tempura is coated in really good batter without compromising the shrimp meat inside (you can taste the freshness of the shrimp).
Pork miso ramen's broth is not flavorful, the noodles are just okay but the pork slices are really tender and tasted good.
Gyoza is just the regular gyoza you can find in other places.
Spicy tuna roll is superb, a lot of tuna is on top of each piece with just the right kick of spiciness.
The service is also fast and servers are very attentive.
I will go back to this place for the tempura and other rolls I haven't tried :)
If you're a tempura lover, you'll love Ebi10. The place is cramped but that's actually part of the appeal being in Poblacion's 'Tambai Alley'.
Their signature of course is the jumbo shrimp tempura. It's not your typical and boring tempura. They're boasting as the best tempura in the metro, and I might have to agree.
What I like here is that their other non-fried dishes are good as well. The service is good, the people are nice, and the food is just perfect.
Ebi 10 -- Undoubtedly it has become the BEST tempura experience that I have ever had in my life. Seriously! It has been a Zomato bookmark of mine for quite sometime, and having my birthday (September 10) dinner there was really an excellent choice.
Before anything, long story short, just before my birthday, I was transferred from our Ortigas to Makati office. I had plans to eat somewhere else, but that obviously changed. Good news--Poblacion is just block away from my new work place. 😁👍💯
The tempura options that Ebi 10 had to offer was quite a selection. Out of them, I decided to pick 5: jumbo prawn, ika, scallop nori, stuffed mushroom and uni shiso nori.
Jumbo prawn: Truly a jumbo shrimp. It wasn't a stretched small shrimp. The head was detached and also tempura-ed.
Ika: 3 big squid rings. Chewy in a nice soft way. Not at all rubbery
Scallop nori: Quite a lot of scallop bits rolled in the nori. No fillers! Just pure yummy scallop goodness.
Stuffed mushroom: The shitake mushroom was stuffed with some minced pork. Really yummy! Could taste the natural umami flavor.
Uni shiso nori: Without a doubt, uni is one of my top fave seafoods. Not a lot of places have it as a tempura option. It was super duper yummy! The shiso leaf gave another depth of flavor. Out of all the tempuras I ordered, this would be my top pick.
Ebi 10's batter was perfect, and actually light. I ate all the tempura by myself with a cup of rice, and at the end of it, I didn't feel bloated at all. In fact I was more than satisfied, more than happy too when I left.
Let's not forget the dipping sauce. I am sure that it was homemade, and like the tempuras themselves, it was the best! Refills are hot and unlimited. 😁😁😁
Food: 5.0 - Again, the BEST!
Price: 5.0 - Affordable prices for gourmet tempura!
Service: 5.0 - Top notch! Friendly and quite knowledgable.
Ambience: 5.0 - It is a small quaint place. I felt like I was transported to an alley restaurant in the middle of Tokyo. Even from the outside (Tambai Alley), it may already feel that way.
I can easily say that Ebi 10 will be my go-to place for tempura. It's just a short walk away from work. Surely I will be there soon to try the other tempuras that they have to offer. #ControlYourTempura is their hashtag, and maybe their tagline. Honestly, I can't because it's sooo good. Must eat a bowl full again! Mooooore! 🍤😁💯👍💗
Crispy Tempura and Scallop Pocorns won my heart over. Guests can cross order oysters from Wantusawa or skewers from Tambai. We stayed at Ebi10 for our midnight feast. Plus points for the amazing service.
Poblacion does it again, super love this hole in the wall that serves nothing but my favorite japanese food, tempura!! Okay, they serve sushi also, but the tempura is BOMB. I think the best part is that they serve it by the piece, I hate ordering ebi tempura in restos and only get 3 pcs but another 3 of gulay. You really get what you want here.
The batter is fried to perfection. I recommend getting the small shrimps but the big one is such a trip, do it at least once! Pair it with the shrimp chahan and you're good to go. I also didn't spend much, surprisingly, was really full and spent only 400. Making a trip back here asap!
Every time I bring a friend to ebi10, we always have a good time. Hidden inside the same building where Tambai is, Ebi10 is the stuff of my tempura dreams
The spicy tuna rolls are pretty good and I thought the ebi10 chahan (fried rice) was awesome. But obviously, the tempura is the star of the show. If you like tofu, the agedashi tofu comes with 4 pieces of delicately breaded tofu swimming in the sauce. Just be careful about plopping it into your mouth as soon as it arrives, because they're hot! The last thing you want is to burn your taste buds. The scallop nori is good too but don't expect plump pieces of scallop. Instead, it's tiny pieces of scallops pouring out of the crispy nori. I would more likely get the asohos (fish) instead of the scallop nori next time. I just feel like it's got a little bit more bang for your buck.
Between the jumbo shrimp and the small shrimp, i think the small shrimp actually has a little bit more sweetness to cut through the fried batter.
Next time, I'm planning to mix it up and try the vegetable tempuras options -- eggplant, sweet potato and stuffed mushrooms.
I personally like having my tempura with a cold bottle of Sapporo but you should definitely check out the Joe's Brew craft beers too. And who knows, maybe next time I'll have room for dessert.
We had their small shrimp, asuhos, and scallop popcorn tempura, as well as their tuna and scallop roll. The tempura was great, their batter is the perfectly light and crisp tempura batter you really wanna get. It's not the overly thick outside you see in a lot of other places, here it's almost like eating potato chips with how crisp it is. It helps that you're getting them quickly out of the fryer instead of then waiting around somewhere. The asuhos is good value for the price while the small shrimp is a decent size already for the price. The scallop I found to be a bit bland, and likewise with the roll I found it to be a bit lacking in flavor.
Would definitely come here again, if you're planning to hop around to different places stick to the tempura, but if you're just staying here their other items do seem interesting.

Small clean place for a quick Japanese craving, solved! This place sitting behind Tambai, was full when we found it and luckily the last seat available was ours. My friend said Spicy Salmon was too spicy but I think, it had already been made that way as it cannot be marinated with something of lesser spice. Gyoza was good in presentation and great in taste. Chili Powder made it great too.
We've been wanting to try Ebi 10 for weeks now, and finally we were able to visit the place today! Actually, we really didn't know the name of the place until this week, we just often referred to it as that tempura place behind Tambai, haha.
We arrived at around 7:30, and the place was jam-packed. We were fortunate to meet the mother of the owner, Mrs. Viray. Their family also owns Joe's Brew, which is also in Poblacion. Anyway, while we were waiting, she recommended the must-try stuff on their menu. It didn't take long before we were able to secure our seats.
For starters we ordered Scallop Popcorn (10 pcs), Gyoza (6 pcs), Salmon Sashimi (6 pcs), Bacon Yakisoba and their house blend iced tea. They're all amazing! Especially the Bacon Yakisoba, and the pairing of the scallops and spicy dip. We did order 4 more pieces of their small shrimp tempura, and we were not disappointed. As the other reviews have mentioned, the batter was just right, and the shrimp was so soft too.
It was a nice experience. The place can serve around 20 customers; a bit small, but the food was great!
As someone who is obsessed with tempura I can really say that I fckng love Ebi 10's bater and huge jumbo shrimp tempura and that amazing serving of uni wrapped in nori then tempura-ed. Good Lord what did we do to deserve Ebi 10. ❤️
BRB.
gist: we fell in love w/ what this place had to offer. every single bite had that ‘yum’ factor and we’re definitely comin’ back for mooore Japaneesie fare.
Ebi10 is my go to place for some great tempura, steak with ponzu sauce, and banana fritters with Nutella.
Their shrimp tempura is really heavenly, lightly battered and fried to a crisp! The meat is sweet and fresh, and even its tail is edible. Been here a number of times, and I can attest that it's really good. Downside is it's a bit inconsistent - there were times their tempura's heavily battered and the crispness was wanting. Nonetheless, the best tempura's I have had is here.
Their steak with ponzu sauce is also definitely a must have. Quite expensive though for the little serving, it's taste more than makes up for it.
Their Banana Nutella Bites though is a must have. It will definitely cleanse your palate and is a classic banana fritter made excellently.
Will definitely be back!
Hidden gem inside a small alleyway in Poblacion. Tempura is so crispy and flavorful, their rolls are delish also. Def worth a trip and wait!
Since this was our second stop, we ordered a few things only…
⬩ Jumbo Shrimp (Php 120 per piece)
Jumbo indeed. I always check the shrimp to breading ratio whenever eating tempura. Ebi10’s version was more shrimp than breading. Yay value for money! The taste was also good - the shrimp tasted fresh.
⬩ Scallop Popcorn (Php 120 for one order, around 10 pieces I think)
This dish includes scallops without the shell, wrapped in breading and deep-fried. Similar to their tempura, the breading was thin. The scallops tasted good. It’s the kind of dish I imagine munching on while watching a movie.
We also ordered their House Blend Iced Tea which was really good. I ordered for a single serve but the server charged us for bottomless. Took advantage of it instead by asking for some refills before leaving the place.
I’d go back to Ebi10 to partner the tempura with rice and check out their other offerings.
This place is really good! This'll be my new go-to place for good tempura. 🤗 it's a little hidden though haha if you know where Tambai is go straight ahead the small alley and you're there :)
The Bird's nest tempura was really good! It's flavorful and light. The tempura batter here is really different in a sense that it doesn't overcoat the food. It's really just enough to coat the food giving it a really crunchy texture. My fave here was the uni nori tempura. It's uni wrapped in nori and fried in their tempura batter. It's a big serving so you'll get your money's worth. :) the scallops and corn was also good and the salmon aburi was amazing! :) we also ate the bacon yakisoba and it was good! The noodles are packed with the bacon flavor. I would definitely go back here. :)
Love that all their food comes out freshly cooked and steaming hot. There were a lot of servers, even kitchen staff so getting their attention was not a problem
Jumbo shrimp (P120) I like their batter and they were big
Stuffed Mushroom(P60)- minced meat inside
Agedashi Tofu(P150)tofu inside was super soft
Sweet Potato(P35)- didn't think it would be so big but good
Gyoza(P150)- love the crisp wrapper and delicious filling
Bacon Yakisoba(P220)- so good! Tasted a bit of truffle in it
I mean, for that ambiance and space. It just felt too expensive. Total bill amounted to P1515 for two and full though. Including 2 Sapporo beers too.
Hate that the Poblacion area is a hard place to get parking. Took 2hrs just from Greenbelt so maybe we'll park far and just walk it next time.
For Starters, we had Gyoza and Salmon Sashimi.
Both were good but nothing extraordinary.
Then we had Jumbo Prawn, Eggplant and Stuffed Mushroom tempura with Ebi10 chahan.
All hit the mark and offering the tempura on a per piece basis was good so we could try what we wanted. In the future, perhaps they could put together recommended sampler plates of tempura.
Service was good - never had to ask for water. Someone always came by to fill my glass before I emptied it. All the servers werr pleasant and courteous.
Plain and simple , straightforward Japanese cuisine but offers amazingly delicious menu. The place is pretty plain and simple but it is always full packed with yuppies, millennial and gen-x alike. Authentic japanese cuisine mixed with spices to adapt to the Filipino taste buds. Such a great place to go in Poblacion Makati .. Reservation is a must . We will be back soon EB 10.
Really enjoyed my dining experience at Ebi 10 though I did get slightly light headed since everything I ate was deep fried. Definitely a good place to go to have some beers with friends while enjoying tempura. Just make sure to get there early as the venue can only accommodate a certain number of groups.
Things to try: get the jumbo shrimp, stuffed mushroom and gyoza was great.
