Sa wakas, na try ko na rin ang cafe na to. This is my bestfriend's fave tambayan so we usually meet up here but I never bothered pa to try their stuff. Now I did. I loved it and mas cheap yung chai tea latte nila unlike in other places. Siguro wish ko lang na mas malaki yung glass para mas sulit hahaha.
Delicious pour over coffee from various foreign single origins. Nicely served in a beaker, wooden tray, and with a small card describing the coffee bean variant you ordered. The barista politely and gladly answered my query on his water to beans ratio.
They're a bit pricey though per cup compared to other equally delicious specialty coffee shops. And sadly, they don't champion our local coffee beans.
Been to this place from time to time for the past 3 years and I must say that their coffee is really, really good per se. However, it's been crowded recently maybe due to their reputation perhaps. Anyway, if you're up for some good coffee the guys and gals at Yardstick really do their job well.
Coffee was served warm, but it was good. Barista's Breakfast has a hefty serving. Waffles are good.
I finally tried Yardstick with huge expectations. So I ordered a cup of their Single Origin Coffee (Kii AB) and a Salted Caramel Waffle.
For the coffee, it was light and smooth with a note of fuji apple and later on prunes as well just like what was written in the tag given with my order. Then their waffle a plate of excellence both in platting and taste. Very worth it, mild in sweetness with good combination of creamy ice cream and a crispy and thick waffle.
By the end, expectations met and even exceeded. Cannot wait to try again.
I went to this cafe in evening and ordered chicken and egg and iced mocha.
It was great tasting both of them.
Both were good in quality.
Highly recommended
First time to visit and we were not disappointed. Shrimp aglio olio was very tasty and the salted catamel waffle was the best! Mocha was one of the best I’ve had in the metro. Definitely going back there again!
Coffee-wise, I didn’t like their iced mocha at first because it tasted sour probably because of the under-extraction during the brewing process but when I stirred the entire drink, I can’t stop myself from drinking it. I enjoyed their carbonara as well. Too bad the wifi speed is kind of slow.
I love their cold brew and brew of the day. The place is very minimalistic. Love that they have a wide range of grubs if you’re someone used to pairing your coffee with foodies or if you decide to eat brunch.Co-working setting(they have sockets and wi-fi) is always my go-to when considering going to a coffee shop and so yardstick is one of my faves.
This is by far my favourite place to hangout for coffee in Makati. The ambiance is so nice and cozy, perfect if you want to study/work or just have a nice quiet chat with a date or friends. My favourites are the affogato and the yardshake.
this review will focus on food alone not coffee... i highly recommend their shrimp pasta aglio olio and the pancakes with caramel ice cream and almonds are to die for... the salted egg pasta has a strong taste i dont like... to be honest i havent tried their coffee i know its wierd but one day i will but overall my choice of food above are very good... The price not so much a pocket friendly everyday food but the place can be your weekly getaway if you want quiet, clean, spacious and bright place to relax or read a book.. also good place to catch up wih friends... service is fast and friendly
Love the food and ambiance. Didn't expect the huge amount of serving compare with the price. My only concern was the signage. Logo was too small and unnoticeable in first look
Probably the best coffee place I went to in the Philippines. Staying in the Coffee capital of the World (Melbourne) made me so particular with my coffee. Yardstick resembles the vibe of an industrial hip coffee place where you can meet friends for a nice chat and good food. Not to mention their waffles to die for. My partner agreed too! It has that crush on the outside and soft inside. We share the plate cause the serving ir really big. We will definitely go again!
Second time in Yardstick Coffee and it keeps getting better. ❤️❤️❤️ super love the ambiance. Perfect place to meet friends or just hang out with your guy.
I had a work thing sa Makati, so after, my boyfriend and i decided to go around and look for a cafe where we can chill. I searched where we can stay and we saw Yardstick, so naglakad lakad kami para mahanap yung cafe. Tago sya sa isang street tapos wala din silang signage na may name ng Yardstick, logo lang nila ang makikita (check the next photo). 👌🏼 very chill sa cafe tapos very instagramable. tapos super bait ng mga staff. kung mapapansin actually madaming foreigners na nag ddine in tapos karamihan mga nag aaral or catching up with friends. i recommend this place if you’re in Makati!
3 pcs eto, actually good for sharing sya and very worth the price 👌🏼❤️

Went here for their Coffee Eclair since it was all my friend who's been here a couple of times could rave about. However, since it was already late when we visited, there weren't any anymore. Still, we enjoyed their other dessert offerings such as their Chocolate Eclair and Dark Chocolate Cookie. The Yardshake is also a good choice, especially if you want both coffee and a dessert at the same time.
Thankful for their strong but still good-tasting coffee that keep us awake for our long ride home.
Absolutely you can find best coffee in Makati, with best barista. Their single origin coffee tastes lovely. I love this Ethiopian coffee with waffles. Nice ambience. Not so crowded. My favorite cafe in Makati.
They have the best hot chocolate in town! Service and ambience is superb, too, besides the occasional crowded workshops... but they don't take up much space anyway so it's good.
This is one of my favorite coffeeshops ever!! And not just because of their coffee, but alsp for their uber delicious food!!!!
I love their aglio olio pasta, as well as their sriracha chicken wraps. When i’m in a breakfast-kind-of-mood, i order their Barista’s Breakfast. Their waffles with ice cream are also good! As well as their lemon eclair!
Now on to their coffee - well, I always order my favorite - Hot Vanilla Flat White. Always. :)
I chose this cafe because of high reviews in Zomato and ended up liking it. I like the interior and everything is so open. The tables are also quite big so it’s a nice place to have a meeting or studying or just catching up with your friends.
We ordered the sweet matcha, vanilla flat white, salt and pepper coffee and salted caramel waffles. Everything is so good except the sweet matcha.
I think they used the green tea powder that you can buy in baking shop, because i know from the color & the smell.
The vanilla flat white is sweet, i think they put syrup inside, not sure may have to asked them about this. For the salt and pepper coffee, you can taste a bit of peppermint and sea salt.
The waffle is so good, outside is crispy enough and the ice cream is also taste good. I know why this is their bestseller.
As for the wifi, they said they have it but the connection is so slow so don’t bother to connect with the wifi.
Not your average coffee shop. Definitely worth a visit.
Food (4/5): We got the Aglio Olio and Sriracha Wrap. Both we delicious and worth the price. The Aglio Olio definitely didn't scrimp up on the shrimp and had the right amount of oil mixed into it while the wrap was definitely a good choice. It just had the right amount of spice and kick in it.
Though I do feel it's priced a bit too high given its serving size.
Ambiance and Venue (3/5) The place was clean though I had trouble with the layout of the place. Items for sale were neatly placed around the store however, it was odd to have people move around you and shop behind your back as you tried to quietly enjoy your meal or coffee. They also don't have a bathroom inside the store, you have to go out and around.
Staff and service (4.5/5) They're courteous and they know their coffee.
It was my first time trying out Yardstick, and boy, did I not regret it. The price definitely isn’t something I’d pay for on the daily, but the coffee and the food are worth the price! Their chicken and waffles is a must-try!
Their dirty chai and sweet matcha were overly diluted. It seems like they’re obsessed with coffee so that’s next on my list. I love the ambiance with their quirky containers and plating. Also their salted caramel waffles are the best! Great for hangouts or “me time”
For our recent visit, we were dining in the adjacent Your Local. They allow coffee to be ordered from here, and I asked YL first if it would be ok to order pasta for my little one as she didn’t like anything on YL’s menu.
Pasta was pretty good. It was creamy and had a good amount of bacon.
One of the best things to order here is their crispy, thick waffles. They’re really good, with edible petals for that organic feel and a scoop of ice cream. So pretty to eat.
Service has always been great for us. The baristas are super friendly. I included a photo of the complimentary cupita of hot milk they gave my toddler on one of our visits. These extra touches of service is why I love this place.
One of my favorite coffee spot in Makati! I usually order my fave hot mocha. I love their breakfast menu and their salted caramel waffles is so so so good!!!!!
Yardstick is the place to go if you're looking for good coffee and some peace and quiet. Their menu has more to offer than the ordinary coffee shops. I love their Yardshake, it's a must try! I'm curious to try their whole menu.
Yardstick Coffee would give you that laid back industry type kind of feel with their ambience. I like that they emphasized on wooden furnish for the place and I gotta admire their counters and cashier. They are creating their own brand by having a unique style and they even have merchandise.
I ordered a sweet puff pastry (can’t remember the name because it’s french name I think?) and iced sweet matcha. I gotta say I really liked what I ordered, both are balanced in their flavors. Next time I would give a try on their savory menus. Service is great too, they are really attentive, they got wifi, outlets, and they give you water right away after you ordered. I would definitely be back here. 😊
Went here just to chill and kill time with no intention to review the place. I ordered the Yardshake which is their best seller. It has a vanilla flavored icecream tossed in the middle of the sweet creamy coffee. As the vanilla icecream melts, the drink gets better and better! Like I said I was not prepared to review the place that's why I don't have any pictures of the place and also the other drink I ordered which is their iced mocha. I am a fan of strong coffee so I'm really satisfied with how the iced mocha is brewed and taste like. The place is for minimalists its simple but relaxing. Will definitely find some time to get back here soon!
I usually spend my sunday morning looking for a coffeeshop where I can enjoy a good cup of coffee. You know I have a thing for a slow sunday morning, taking a break from the fast paced life.
I decided to give it a try since YARDSTICK has good reviews on Zomato. I had a hard time finding the coffeeshop since I'm not familiar with place. Also, I was looking for an establishment with an exterior that is quite similar with the interior of the coffeeshop. To my surprise it is located in a quite old building.
I ordered YARDSHAKE, combination of ice cream, milk and yardstick coffee. It was creamy and thick.
I was about to order one of their waffles but I changed my mind since I am craving for something savory so I ordered Shrimp Aglio Olio instead. It was good and I actually thought of ordering another bowl of it.
The place is quite spacious and can accomodate a crowd of customers. It is well lit and ventilated, a perfect place for friends to chill and hang out.
We visited this place to have our dessert after dining in Romulo Cafe. We were celebrating my brother and sister's birthday, so we want to go somewhere chill.
Why a 5 star?
Maybe I just fell in love with how "open" the place is. A bit bare but it has its own elegance. I felt free being there. I also felt like I can do, imagine, think of anything there. This kind of ambiance is difficult to find, and I found it here. The coffee and other drinks are beyond decent, and the waffles are amazing. Servers are generally warm and friendly too!
Food Recommendations
My top picks are Yardshake (P180) and Salted Caramel Waffle (P230)
First specialty coffee I try in Manila and it didn’t disappoint me at all. First time having geisha from Colombia. Got really nice tea and apricots note. The atmosphere was decent and a good place to chill.
Everything here is perfect!! Coffee, yes. Matcha, yes. Waffle, hell yes! Ambiance is too chill. Love it here. My mom loves the coffee beans too. She's like yardstick coffee >>>
This place serves the best coffee and waffles in Makati. My friends and I have been looking for places with good waffles and we keep coming back to Yardstick.
Salted Caramel Waffle (5/5)
- This is my go-to waffle. Costs 245 pesos. It's a big serving and is definitely for sharing. The waffles are always so crispy and cooked perfectly.
You can order any of the coffees they have in this place, and, if you're a fan of artisanal coffee, I'm pretty sure you'll find your coffee more than satisfactory.
Just wish they'd have comfier seats for their customers, but I won't let that get in the way of a 5/5 rating.
After a very stressful and tiring day, I decided to have a walk in Legaspi Village and find a place to unwind and relax and tadaaaaa I found this ideal place for my needs.
The place is spacious which makes it ideal for meetings and other gatherings. This place is perfect for studying as it has a very relaxing atmosphere. Great choice for intimate conversations and my choice to just unwind by myself.
I ordered a cup of hot chocolate and Salted Caramel Waffles. This combination was perfect for a cold Thursday night. The Hot Chocolate had a very rich chocolate flavor which I really liked. So chocolateeeeyyyyy. The Salted Caramel Waffles were sooooooooooooooooo delicious!!! I personally liked this dish. The waffle was so fluffy and crunchy on the side. The Ice Cream on top was not too sweet and super tasty.
Will definitely revisit!
Right after eating at Your Local, we decided to have coffee at Yardstick. I ordered a Vanilla Affogato, and a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was, I think, overpriced (Php100) but it was worth it - one of the best that I’ve tasted. I especially enjoyed it because it was served warm, it also complements the affogato.
For my 2nd time here, I ordered hot Mocha and plain croissant. The coffee was great, and the chocolate from the mocha was just the right amount.
Because I enjoyed dining here, I invited my friends for a coffee break. This time I ordered hot Naughty Matcha. It was more milk chocolate than matcha which disappointed me because I was expecting a matcha with a tinge of milk chocolate. Also, it was too sweet for my liking. My friends ordered a non-coffee beverage - Dirty Chai and Steampunk. They were not satisfied with their drink.
The waffle tasted GRREATT!!! By far the best waffle I've tasted in Manila. Though the breaded chicken snitzel that came with it was a tad too oily and had a lot of breading. I wait the day when restaurants who offer chicken would realize we do not want a heavily breaded chicken. I will definitely be back!
The mismatched chairs, large open space, and minimalist decor all contribute to the airy and relaxing atmosphere of Yardstick. It’s perfect to sit back and work here all day while guzzling coffee or even just simply have a relaxing breakfast.
Their Cold Brew and Iced White are delicious and perfect to beat the heat while at the same time getting your daily dose of caffeine. In my opinion, their Cold Brew is hands down one of the best in Manila.
They also serve all-day breakfast at Yardstick. Their Salted Caramel Waffle is the perfect blend of sweet and salty and, for plus points, is topped with a heap of ice cream.
Jomarie Ang (Eat Drink Splurge)
+4
Before we had our dinner last Saturday, we opted to visit Yardstick (it's just beside Your Local!) so we could have a quick coffee / tea, watch some episodes of Steven Universe (!!!), while we wait for our turnover time at Your Local.
As usual, I looked to their non-coffee options, while Josh was fascinated with their single origin coffee and cold brews. We're super different when it comes to our cafe drinks, and it shows in our orders:
✅ FOR JOSH: COLD BREW NO. 3 (Php 180) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review from Josh: Yardstick Cold Brew is the best there is. The ones I previously drank felt overextracted as the bitterness overwhelmed the drink. Here in Yardstick, the flavor notes of the bean remains which was highly acidic with hints of fruitiness finished by a deep roasted flavor.
✅ FOR ME: SWEET MATCHA (Php 175) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
When it comes to matcha drinks, I believe in the saying, "The simpler, the better." 💚 The earthiness of the matcha plus the sweetness and creaminess of the fresh milk is simply divine. If you feel a bit adventurous, you might want to try out their Dirty Matcha, which uses chocolate milk as its base. 👌 I wish the matcha taste was a bit stronger than it is, though.
Unlike the mainstream cafés, this one is well-lit, and is actually conducive for working or studying. It sports wooden tables and chairs, and it actually made me feel like I am in a library. 🤐 Haha. I love how friendly the baristas are! They seem really really knowledgeable about their coffee, too!
Would definitely come back again next time. 🤗
#EatDrinkSplurge
For coffee connoisseurs this place is a must. Rumor has it that the best barista's are taught to make coffee here. The coffee, Yardshake (their take on a double espresso iced coffee) and ice chocolates are delicious.
The signature breakfast is amazing. The dip compliments all the fresh ingredients. The caramel waffles are the customer favourite and you can immediately see why. The waffles are fluffy, light and crunchy soft and the caramel ice cream is rich but not too sweet.
Great service and a cool little cafe! A must in Makati.
This place is kinda minimalist. Salted caramel waffles with vanilla ice cream is great! It has a big serving that is good for sharing. Iced mocha is great too.
Actually this place kinda barista training ground, workshop. But it's actually good experience to eat here. Not too many customers. Food is good, n the coffee taste nice with good choice of coffee bean..
Yardstick serves excellent third wave coffee. We always order their cappuccino or their cold brews. It's a nice place to stay to have intimate conversations, business meetings, and get together with friends. Staff is very attentive, and the ambiance of the place is minimalist industrial chic. One of the best cups of coffee we've had.
The staff are so attentive without being intrusive. Great for catching up with friends or for some alone time at breakfast. Salted Caramel waffles came with vanilla ice cream and was really good. Naughty matcha milk chocolate did not disappoint.
Will come back to try the Salted Egg & Bacon Pasta, and the Chicken & Waffles. It was not available last time.
Located in Legaspi Village. Another hideout place for me.
I tried Yardstick's vanilla affogato for 150php. Espresso has milder acidity level and vanilla ice cream is creamy and complements well with the drink. I had to scoop out the ice cream immediately cause it melts right away.
The place is youthful and has a chill vibe. It is well lit and has open kitchen (?) coffee bar (whatever). It also offers different specialty coffee courses (I might try one).
Their baristas are very welcoming and accomodating.
I'll be back and i'll might try their pasta.
I’ve been trying to search for the best Affogato lately and what’s always good about @yardstickcoffee is how you can fully enjoy their perfectly brewed espresso even thru their Affogato. It is served with vanilla-flavoured ice cream partnered with Golden ticket-blend espresso. Better to consume if fast as ice cream melts easily from the hot espresso but I guess it’s another menu ticked off which have left me a good impression. 👌🏻
Mocha
If you can’t choose between chocolate and coffee, get the best of both worlds with this Iced Mocha to feel that cocoa and espresso mixed right for your go-to drink.
Matcha
If you’re a fan of matcha, you would love to try this Sweet Matcha. I prefer it over ice but they serve it hot, too!
In addition to that, I was hungry enough to try aglio olio and it did not disappoint! You can taste shrimp, the mushrooms, herbs and everything from that dish. So good 😍
Definitely going back here 👌🏻
Had my favorite Hummus with Mushroom. Sadly I couldn't try their coffee yet since it was dinner time. Can't wait to try their other mains and pastas! Hope they could sell nibblers for cookie lovers. Service charge is kinda too much.
Up until last Valentine’s Day I haven’t been to Yardstick for a while but nevertheless it still has that cozy hipster vibe it always radiated since my first visit last 2014. This is a great place to get some work done, hold office meetings, or a quick hang out with friends. My boyfriend loves his coffee black while I have a bit of a sweet-tooth. This place offers a wide range of choices to accommodate our respective preferences and has a friendly staff to even help you choose your ideal beverage. Yardstick is where the cool kids are at.😎
nice and cozy place for great coffee while getting some work done or just Netflixing. I'd go with the daily brew just cuz I like the beans, but try the coldbrew as well.
Loved the pasta we ordered and the chicken and rice thing. You can definitely taste the freshness of the ingredients and the herbs are on point.
The iced coffee we tried is not your typical watered down version, instead it’s the professionally brewed one which we enjoyed a lot.
Will definitely come back and try others on the menu.
Ordered salted egg bacon pasta and meatball pasta
The first bite was awesome! But after a while the salted egg pasta was drying up -- naging medyo nakakaumay. The meatball pasta is great! My friend finished it!
Hope that they could improve their serving time! We waited for approximately 30 minutes for our food. For our next visit, we will definitely try their aromatic coffees and breakfast waffles!
We ordered their Salted Egg and Bacon pasta but they ran out of bacon. Quite unfortunate 😒. The pasta still tastes good though. We loved it.
We also ordered Meatball pasta. Nothing unusual. Same meatball pasta any where else.
We ordered salted caramel waffle for dessert. The lady asked me if we wanted it served a little later, after we eat our pasta. We agreed but little did we know that it will take forever to prepare. The dessert was served 20minutes after we finished the last of our pasta. It was delicious, yes, but would have been more appreciated if we need not wait too long.
Service is good. Warm and friendly.
Ambiance is okay. Ideal for idle chitchats with friends.
Cleanliness is superb.
Love the salted caramel waffles. it's 2 halves of waffles stacked on top of each other topped with salted caramel sauce, chopped almonds and one of the creamiest vanilla ice cream I ever tasted. we were mind blown with how sinful and decadent it was; imo it made the waffles taste 10x better. it is worth it for its price and I do not mind paying for it again. the rice meals and toast options are overpriced and serving is quite small. that's okay if you are a small eater but for an average Filipino, I think it's nakakabitin.
Yardstick has always been my go to coffee shop. Great coffee, amazing ambiance and the food ain’t bad either. It’s just that, the hummus and mushroom needs a little more improvement. It’s great yes but I wish the tortilla was more toasted, a little more mushroom maybe and the hummus should be a little less wet. Overall, this is my go to place and my favorite since they played one of my favorite Daft Punk songs, which is a nice change of music. I recommend the waffles here, they are super delicious and the whiff of the waffles just smells scrumptious!
Update: I came back to Yardstick after two days and I really recommend ordering the Sriracha Chicken Wrap, which is delicious and will also fill you up! 😋😋😋
Probably the nicest place to chill for coffee in the area.
I like the set up. Both espresso and other coffee based are nice and kicked-in.
The place and ambience, they very nice.
Friendly staff, great coffee and food. They do have wifi but it’s kind of hard to connect. I’d go here often though, since the pros outweigh the cons (which is like, one only).
The place has a very nice ambience. It’s not too noisy which is perfect for catching up and conversations. Love their coffee! Will definitely be back.
Definitely a go to coffee place. For me, this is one of the few places where they take coffee seriously. You can see this from the coffee contraptions they have set up and you can see them using it to ensure that your coffee is of the finest quality (Which it is btw). Place is very spacious and quiet. On a side note, I think the also offer coffee classes which is super cool!!!
Update 09/08/2018:
I’ll always love their coffee and I’m happy to visit this place again today. I got a single origin cold brew this time and the taste is just perfect cause I really like coffee with sour note. However, it’s a bit sad to see so much merchandise displayed that makes it kinda look more like a store that sells coffee stuff than an actual coffee shop.
9 months ago:
It’s been ages since my last visit and super miss this place. It’s one of my favorite coffee shops that I even attended one of their talks before. Made me appreciate coffee brewing even more.
As for this cup here, it’s salt & pepper which made me really happy upon realizing that it is a peppermint drink! Yum yum ?
This coffee shop located in Legazpi creates a very down to earth and calm feeling to the village. The exterior of the place has a subtle logo placed on the entrance rather than big and bold letters.
The big windows reveal the calm and modern interiors on the inside.
The menu doesn't put the price with VAT on which can deceive some customers on a budget.
I sat by the window that lets you see the peaceful neighborhood. They provide free wifi and they also have sockets which is perfect for the people who want to sip and work.
My "Fork the Pork" then arrived which tasted fine although I can't help but think of better dishes for the price.
Overall I really love this place. It's calm inside and very relaxing. I would really love to go back here and work at peace
Yardstick is one of my go-to places in Makati because it's never crowded and the food is quite good. The dishes can get quite overwhelming with the flavors, though, so I always share plates with friends. My favorite is the Sriracha chicken wrap because the chicken is tender and tasty, while the veggies thrown in balance the flavor and texture. There's also a kick from the chili powder. I wish they remove the skin from the chicken, though. The salted egg pasta is one of my frequent orders as well. The salted egg flavor really comes through and there is a generous amount of bacon toppings.
For drinks, my favorite used to be the PB&H shake, which they sadly do not offer anymore. The Yardshake is a yummy alternative. (You can ask for a single espresso shot instead of two if you're not much into coffee like me.) Give the hot chocolate a pass. Starbucks' signature hot chocolate is far, far better.
I'll definitely come back to try the other dishes. I really like that this cafe offers food that can actually fill you up, and even if the menu is limited it looks like they gave a lot of thinking and effort into the items they put in it. A plus to this cafe also is the nice acoustics of the place. It doesn't get noisy like in the adjacent restaurant Your Local. Personally, the music they play in the background also matches my taste. This place definitely makes it to my favorites list.
Best place to have coffee after a fine and sumptous meal at your local. Yard stick doesnt just serve fine coffee it makes it a science and an art at the same time.
Great space, great coffee, and great staff! Always a winning combo! Being greeted always on first name basis is a wonderful way to keep loyal customers. Always a great start to my day
I've tried yardstick quite a few times but I've only had their coffee & waffles.
We tried their tacos and it was surprisingly really good! You definitely should order this when you go to yardstick!
I've tried a few of their waffles before, but this time we tried the ube waffle. It was okay, but the service was really slow. The server I think forgot that we ordered the waffles because we've waited for around 30 mins and approached the barista, only to find out that they haven't even started making the waffles.
I've been wanting to go here since forever and luckily, my boyfriend agreed! Since yardstick is just near our school (CEU- legaspi) we gave it a shot. My boyfriend is super addicted to their coffee! I mean, HE LIKES EVERYTHING HERE. As for me, coffee is too strong for my liking. Ambiance is simple and calming. The servers were definitely hospitable! We might come back here again.
I ordered yardshake by the way.
The cafe itself is really cute. Very aesthetically pleasing. The winning factor is of course their coffee. One of the best coffees in Manila.
This place is hard to find. I mean the Y marks it as Yardstick but we had to like peek on the window to know if we were on the right place. 😂
As soon as we got in, the staff immediately greeted us and they were very accommodating. The ambiance was perfect for a coffee shop, peaceful and cozy.
We ordered Barista's Breakfast and their Meatball Pasta. It was heaven. The serving portions were good enough for 2.
I didn't like the Fruitbomb Iced Tea though, I mean for my taste.

After an amazing lunch or dinner from Your Local, it's a MUST to visit Yardstick which is Just next door. A nice place to chill or study or even a small get together with friends. I'm a frequent to this cafe because of their amazing coffee and delicious pastries. I've never tried their meals but will definitely try it soon
Amazing ambiance and food! Perfect place to chill out, especially on the rainy days!! We tried the Salted Caramel Waffle and one of their pastas, it was delightful. I would go back again!
Salted Caramel Waffle and White Espresso. This place was recommended by a friend and I am so happy I went here. Cozy place and the food was awesome! Can't wait to go back here
The ambience is calm and quiet, a great café to visit to. Excellent food and even better coffee which they are specialize in. Overall, the perfect place to have a cup of coffee!
Yardstick was my introduction to third wave coffee. The ambiance is very minimalist as the place is very spacious and cozy. I like how the baristas knows their coffee very well and would actually take the initiative to suggest which coffee you might prefer by describing the notes for each of them. It's nice to see that they started offering foods which are a bit on the heavier side. Also, other than offering food, they offer workshops for those who are interested in knowing more about coffee like cupping, tasting specialty coffee etc. The only think that I don't like here is that the internet signal seems to be very slow so it would be difficult to stay here if you plan to work or study. In general, this is a nice place to hang out alone or with friends.
My good friends know that one of the things that make me happy is coffee. I get so giddy whenever I'm in a coffee shop.
My favorite Dragon Lady, T, and I went to Yardstick after having a filling dinner at Your Local.
I have been here already when I tried the Mayura burger. But since I was in a hurry and was awkwardly alone (I was the only person without a companion for over 30 minutes when I visited) I wasn't able to try their coffee except for the Yard Shake which made my throat itch.
This time, I tried the White Coffee (PHP140) and a slice of Revel Bar (PHP80).
They served the coffee without any sweetener and T encouraged me to taste it sugar-free and it was... eeek! Okay, I like my coffee sweetened.
I am in heaven full of carafes and espresso machines! This coffee shop does not only serve meticulously brewed coffees but also amazing pasta meatball and the sweetland salted caramel waffle which I find tremendously delicious!
salted caramel waffle - 5 (Waffle at its finest!)
meatball pasta - 4 (the meat has an after taste I can't explain but overall it tastes good)
This is my definition of a good waffle. Salted caramel waffle is what i'm coming back for, not just once, twice, but whenever I crave for a waffle and ice cream. 👌
I love their hummus and mushroom! It was a simple dish done right. You've got smooth, creamy texture from the hummus, and then chunky button mushrooms and crispy basil leaves for that added texture. It was a light but filling snack. It was so good, it inspired me to make my own version at home a fews weeks later.
Good ambiance & location, coffee was great! Couple of things that were a letdown though were the temperature and the service from one of the crew. We were seated at the communal table, behind the barista, and it felt as if the airconditioning was in fan mode. When we ordered the waffles, the cashier said they already ran out, we really wanted one but we ordered sandwiches instead. Minutes, maybe half an hour or so later, a crew was serving waffles to one of the tables. We would've waited 30mins. had we known they're making another batch, pbfffft.
I loved their Balsamic Mushroom Pasta. It was something new to me. Very flavorful, just the right hint of sour. My friends ordered their beef sandwich, and the other ordered Salmon & Poached Eggs, which were both amazing as well.
The place is very spacious, open, and vibrant. Also, the interior is very modern and comfy, perfect for people to study at and hangout.
I just found the Chai Tea Latte weird in a way when served cold it tastes horrible, but served hot is amazing. Also, the portion for hot drinks are too small for the price.
P.S: When ordering, the cashier will automatically deduct the service charge as well on the spot. So better have extra when paying.
(Example: Chai Tea Latte is P140, the cashier deducts P150 without consulting you)
A good place to read, study, or just have some quiet time. I've tried their vanilla flat white with chocolate cake and crinkles on the side. I was reviewing for midterms when i went here since it's just near my school
