It was pre-covid era and although there were news items about Wuhan and its closure, the possibility was so remote then or so we told ourselves so we went about our normal routine without a care in the world.  Who new that less than a month later,  the metro (initially) then the whole island of Luzon eventually would be on a lockdown

2nd time here.
Noticed that they have a big menu, the great thing is they have Senior Menu or the Lago Menu.
The ambiance is very homey.
They greet guests when you enter, when you order and when you leave.
A buzzer is on your table when you need to call their staff's attention.
Sashimi is served on a conveyor when you're seated in the middle area tables. The salmon sashimi is really is delicious and sweet. Tempura Sashimi is very crunchy but doesn't taste like oil. However the shrimp is a bit overcooked, but still tasted good.
House tea is served for free to help with digestion.
A good Japanese restaurant for couples, friends and family.

Musashi maru restaurant is located at the rooftop of glorietta also known as the japan town. The area looks spacious and their tables would usually cater to 4-6pax. Their no1 and no2 miso-based ramen tastes okay, the soup is a bit thick. Their salmon sashimi rice is okay, need to add sauce. And their tekka negitori tastes okay. Overall ambience is okay, but they may need to improve their exhaust. Their servers are all friendly and knows how to speak japanese (you may identify them on their name plate)

AMBIENCE
I love the convenience of calling servers with the button left on the table. On top of that, orders slide their way towards us at the side of our table. Very efficient! Restaurant is very spacious with strong air con even though the branch was full.

BEVERAGE
Free cold tea tasted good as always among various Japanese restaurants we've been to. We had lots of refills!

FOOD
Miso-Tonkotsu Ramen had excellent egg yolk, tasty umami broth and a fair serving of meat. Tekka Negitoro was cold and tasty but not too heavy. Aburi Salmon Zukushi were few but big pieces of salmon with grated radish, mayo and miso on top that tasted amazing!

SERVICE
Servers had a lively vibe, were cheerful, attentive and consistent at greeting customers with such energy!

Aburi Salmon Don with Tonjiru (php430) at Musashi-Maru located at Japan Town, Top of the Glo (near Holiday Inn). Quite excited to try all the jap restos here. Musashi-Maru has extensive menu, very accommodating staff (press the bell if you need them), and large dining hall.
House tea was complimentary.

I was able to try the teppan cheese hamburg steak and oyakodon during my first visit here. Both tasted good.

Not sure what was the sauce slathered on the cheese hamburg steak but I liked that it did not taste super sweet. Oyakodon had a simple, flavorful taste. The combination of creamy eggs and chicken was perfect!

I just find the price a bit expensive for the serving size of the dishes. Other than that, the dining experience here was great. Each table had a buzzer so it was not difficult to request from the staff.

This place - the whole concept of Japan Town was so unique and our kids enjoyed it. The ambience was a 5 and the food a 4 if it's just because of the price. But the taste and the servings were adequate. This place is actually a 4.5. The kids ordered the aburi salmon the mince tuna with rice and oyakodon. We tried their ramen and their karaage. The kids enjoyed their food and their servings were just right. The ramen was okay too, just right for one person. We tried the Wasabi octopus and it was a surprise - it was very good. Altho the serving is really just for appetizer sized. Kids would enjoy the train tray service. This area is near holiday Inn Makati thus making it accessible to those staying in the hotel.

We had a pleasant dinner at this place. I especially loved that there were games, a dice game and a Japanese jack en poy game. They made the atmosphere quite fun. We won a free coke. I especially loved the tonkatsu and cabbage salad. My son enjoyed the ebi tempura while my husband liked the chicken teriyaki. Love that the condiments were right at the table. Some of our food was delivered via conveyor belt and that added to the fun. The food was pricey but I enjoyed every bit of it. Also, if you're looking for a quiet place to eat, find another Japanese option.

My first visit to Japan Town at Top of the Glo. Quite amazing to have this variety and quality of Japanese food in the metro at relatively low prices.

I had the Teppan Miso Katsu (fillet) lunch set, which comes with hearty Tonjiru soup, pickle, rice and tea. The katsu is very crisp and good. Smothering it with miso sauce adds a savory and slightly sour flavor. You can also dip your katsu in the ground sesame seeds with katsu sauce bowl ala Yabu.

We were thrilled when Japan Town in Glorieta opened. We love japanese food. Thats why we saw to it to visit these restaurants one by one.
We started with Mushashi-maru and the experience was for an authentic japanese restaurant. We ordered tonkatsu, chasyu, salad, karaage and udon set. The taste were really good. The staff were courteous and attentive. The ambience was authentic japanese. They even have the jack en poy game. And their toilets were same with restaurants in Japan. We would love to visit this place again.

Japan-vibe 👏🏻 I had the most amazing experience today at @iloveglorietta ‘s new concept, and of course at Musashitei.
Japan Town is located at the TopGlo (4th floor, Cinema Exit), you have to walk towards until you reach and be greeted by the mini-Arashiyama Bamboo Groove.
We chose Musashitei since they have the most spacious restaurant, and cause of variety of food.

🥢 Complimentary Tea (Hot or Iced) - of course I had hot tea to warm me first. Afterwards, I went for the Iced one. Hey, I was surprised they also serve Iced Tea, it’s soooo refreshing! I had three refills of Iced Tea haha not sure if it’s green tea, but I was energized!
🥢 Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen - although my mom find it salty, I did enjoy it because of its thick strong flavor.
🥢 Maguro Miso Katsu - soft and perfectly fried tuna, with delicous miso sauce.
🥢 Kani Cream Croquette - I’ve tried this in Japan OH GOSH, HEAVEN! Anyway this one is also good but I think it has more cream than crab.
🥢 Tartar Karaage - tasty, crispy skin, and overall tender! Loved the tartar sauce too!
🥢 Tekka Negitoro - melts in your mouth! Size is fairly good, plus the generous negitoro topping is amazing
🥢 Aburi Zanmai - Salmon, Tuna, and Eel. They’re super fresh! Whether with or without soy-sauce and wasabi, it will leave you longing for more!
*sushis are served like the Japanese converyor style—I miss Japan*

Overall, this restaurant exceeded my expectations; ambiance, food, and the staffs. It truly made me long for Japan even more. Comfort room has washlet! Haha Thank you team for having the most friendliest staffs—super courteous!

I super love Japanese food and it was rather timely that there is a new Japanese Town at the 4th Level of Glorietta 1 which is called Top Of The Glo (Glo, a slur for Glorietta) and a lot of new stores opened there, Washoku Musashi-Maru is one that caught my eye. Just a little background. Washoku is written in kanji characters with the first character (wa) means Japan or Japanese and it also represents harmony, while the second character (shoku) means food or to eat. These are the traditional dishes that have been passed on from different generations and the main part of it is a simple preparation of rice and side dishes made with a variety of seasonal ingredients.

Authentic Japanese experience. The food and ambiance brought me back to Japan.

The miso ramen was good. Loved my sizzling chicken teriyaki lunch set. Wish the free drink was bigger. The chicken karaage was amazing.

Service was great.

We will be back.

tonkatsu, ramen and sushi maybe common for y’all, but here at MUSASHI MARU, they pride themselves of having the legit(est), best(est) and quality(est) of the abovementioned.

their offerings are made w/ ingredients flown from japan (like twice weekly), dishes crafted only by the expertise of japanese masters and the staff were immersed and trained in japan to bring about what commendable service this culture is known for.

the pork loin had the right amount of silky fat and the meat was tender, the sashimis were a-grade and melts in your mouth, then the ramen left me humming “mmmhs” and slurps were everywhere
.
@iloveglorietta people!! go to the 4th floor of the glorietta 2 STAT and have a feel of #JapanTown then head on over to #MusashiMaru so you’ll know what im talkin’ ‘bout.

Top of the Glo in Glorietta recently added Japan Town to boost traffic on its open roof deck area. Besides Japanese cuisine of various kinds, it will also be a venue to showcase their entertainment, culture, and events.

There are now 7 Japanese concepts open at the moment. They are Tendon Akimitsu, Hakata Ramen, Shaburi Kintan, Mitsuyadu Ramen, Coco Ichibanya, 102 Izakaya and today’s destination, Musashi-Maru.

Musashi-Maru now has two locations in Manila, the first one is in Bonifacio Global City. This international franchise is part of one of the biggest restaurant groups in Toyohashi, Aichi, Japan.

When craving for authentic and high quality tonkatsu, sushi, ramen and other familiar Japanese dishes, I highly recommend a visit here soon.

Our feast of the east started with fresh and thick slices of sashimi. We had the trio of Kanpanchi (yellowtail), Maguro (bluefin tuna) and my all time fave, Salmon.

Nigiris sushi were served as well. Both the Ippon Anago (eel) and Ebiten (shrimp) Nigiri were eye catching, as they were vibrant in color and shape. The eel was a more instant crowd drawer because of its sweet and savory sauce combined with melt in your mouth texture.

Our table also had the staple Gyoza as one of our starters. Mushashi-Maru’s version was excellent, their Yaki Gyoza was moist and delicious.

The signature Tonkotsu, pork broth base Ramens arrived soon after. It had three flavors- Miso (fermented bean paste), Shoyu (soy sauce) and Ebi (seafood). The Miso had the richest taste while Ebi was light and friendly. All bowls were filled with firm noodles and toppings, making it an incredible deal as they are just at Php 370 each.

This establishment values fun and it’s evident with their Long Long Weiner dish. The story behind it I wont’t mention here, it’s funny and best if carried out by Mushashi-Maru’s wait staffs. The sausage is around 3 feet long!

Finally, desserts! Japanese restaurants normally aren’t good at this part of the menu. This place does. Please order all of their four treats, Zensai (mochi with red bean), Almond Jelly and their ice cream, Cookies and Cream + Dark Chocolate.

I can’t wait to come back here when am in the Makati area. More than the food, their friendly personnel gives you more reasons to visit them again and again.
