Classic. Simply classic. One of my all time favorite restos with friendly staff.

I remember eating here way way back with my parents so my boyfriend & I decided to try it here again. Authentic Japanese food and ambience!
What more can I say but an Authentic Japanese Cuisine at its best! 👍🏼
Kamameshi House never gets old. For me, it is one of the best traditional Japanese Resto in town. If you want the best in Kamameshi rice, try this resto. They have a wide variety of Japanese food in their menu. Thanks Kamaeshi House for a wonderful lunch experience. ❤️❤️❤️
Good food. Good ambience. Used Zomato Gold for some of our dishes. Food was also out quickly and it was fresh. Servers were attentive as well.
Yaki udon, pork katsu, chicken tepan
Been here about a month ago. Staffs are nice and are very attentive. Salmon sashimi is superb! I also love their Ebi Tempura and Beef Teppanyaki.
This place brings back childhood memories. The same kamameshi rice goodness I have enjoyed since childhood. Wife's fave is the ikayaki the sukiyaki also good. Come early or call in advance to book a table
Yummy food! Nice place. It has great ambiance even if it’s old. The servers are very friendly as well. Only problem for me was the cleanliness of the utensils.
This place has been our family's go to Japanese restaurant since we were kids.
We love the servers, very attentive and courteous.
We love the mixed rice, tempura, sukiyaki, chicken wings, the chicken yakitori, the steak and the quial eggs and the squid.
Our family’s favorite Japanese resto. We dine here maybe once a month for the past 5-10 years. We always order the kamameshi rice - minimum of 2. Tempura, Chicken yakitori, (sometimes gizzard for dad) miso soup, egg sashimi etc and their iced tea is my favorite. Seems everything is the menu is good. They have upstairs seating also.
Love love love the food. We were there actually very early so not much people yet. Servers are attentive with their japanese uniforms.
Place is clean, utensils neatly displayed at the table.
Ordered
👩🏻🍳Tori Kamameshi Rice 175pesos
Loved it that it is served super hot, i also loved eating the crunchy/tosta parts
👩🏻🍳 Ebi Tempura
Cooked just right, big and plump pieces. 3pcs was around 305pesos
👩🏻🍳Sukiyaki
Order good for one even if there's the two of us. Enough for two. Served super hot😀
👩🏻🍳Beef Teriyaki
Kinda expensive at 415pesos, but the quality of ingredient is really really good, tastes better!
👩🏻🍳Pork Garlic Yaki 68pesos per stick
Loved this even if i'm not a fun of "taba" parts, you just have to eat it as a whole to appreciate how yummy it is!
👩🏻🍳Yakitori 68pesos per stick
Chicken cooked perfectly, loved the sauce, you know the meat of the chicken used was the nice parts and hindi yung pinagtagpi tagpi na parts
Tea was complimentary. Service was quick.
Will definitely come back to taste other food on the menu.
The ambiance could feel quite "old" though, but overall great experience
Since we were early, we were able to park outside but they have a parking space around 2 bldg away before the restaurant itself. They have a guard to assist you :)
Best food ever. Worth the price we paid for. Especially the crab kamameshi and ebi tempura. Great staff and ambiance also. Will definitely go back for more.
Food was really really really good. Hands down that they use only the freshest ingredients. Service was just so-so. Quality over quantity indeed but here, you get both!
Staff are friendly. Food is amazing, its a bit pricey tho. Must try the crab rice. Also, best sellers are not included in the 1+1. Sad. But, still a must eat place.
I have known and seen this Japanese restaurant since I was a kid and for some reasons I just got used to passing by it all the time. Then I saw this listed under Zomato gold and then I just realized, it's about time we try it!
The place and ambiance is like a blast from the past in a good way. Food is excellent and quality is very good. Kuya waiter is attentive and accommodating. Will surely visit again and try the other dishes. I just hope they increase they increase the menus covered by zomato :)
The Kamameshi Rice is a must try!!!
Ordered tempura, uni sashimi and the crab kamameshi. Food was good. It's in a one way street so be sure not to miss the parking located before the restaurant or you have to go around again. Zomato Gold is not applicable for their lunch sets and meals with rice.
Always a pleasure to dine here. Celebrated a birthday here and staffs were attentive. We ordered kamameshi mix rice, spicy tuna (the best), gyuniku, yakitori, chicken teriyaki and salmon sashimi. Food was good :)
It has been awhile since my last visit here. How the years have gone by, and New Kamameshi House remains the same — friendly staff, attentive service, and an extensive traditional Japanese menu.
My officemate and I had a quick lunch stop-over here today. I had 2 orders of the 3 pieces Ebi Tempura, which was served under 10 minutes. These were large pieces of prawns, their breading just right (not oily, no trace of MSG). I took my time chowing down on these 6 pieces, recalling the good memories from the earlier days of Kamameshi House with each bite.
Parking is available right outside the establishment with their security guard assisting you from the time you arrive until you leave. That is one less thing to worry about and allows you to focus on dining.
New Kamameshi House could well benefit from a makeover. The interior and furniture have not changed in quite some time. Doing so may give it a more relaxing feel.
On the downside, some menu items are not covered by Zomato Gold’s 1+1 on Food. Such was the case for their 6 pieces Ebi Tempura, quite to my dismay. If you are a Ebi Tempura lover, 3 pieces Ebi Tempura just would not sate your craving. I would have given a 5-Star rating otherwise.
All in all, a 4-Star rating is well deserved, and presents New Kamameshi House with opportunities for improvement.
Nothing much has changed since then — still brings back good memories.
Maybe I'm biased but this place never changed since the first time I went way back 18 years ago. For me is the best Japanese Restaurant especially in terms of their rice. Their crab rice is to die for. Yakitori really good too plus the quality of their sashimi is great. This place has always been where my family goes to whenever we had a reason to celebrate. The staff has been the same ever since too. This restaurant will always be the closest to my heart as it is where I popped the question to my girlfriend as well. PLEASE NEVER CLOSE!!!
Kamameshi always brings back good memories. We have patronized this branch for 30 years and change.
There's a peculiar scent when you enter the doorway of Kamameshi, the smell of longevity. The doorman/guard is the same guy, the waiters are the same. The furniture, the look, it is as if I was caught in a time warp and did not move.
I came back for my favorites, the 6 piece ebi tempura (P485) and the Mixed Kamameshi Rice (P230, free because of zomato gold). The green tea is free so just ask for a teapot.
Their Ebi Tempuras are longer than the usual and did not scrimp on the shrimp. It was nicely golden, covered with panko and crispy to bite. The shrimps were succulent and delicious once dunked in the dashi and mirin infused dipping sauce.
The restaurant is really famous for their kamameshi rice. Though, people normally go for the chicken or shrimp rice, I prefer the mixed. It has shrimps, chicken, julienned string beans, carrots and mushrooms. And it is such a treat to wait till the hot steel ricepot forms socarrat or "tutong" because it is so flavorful and crispy. So, whatever type of rice dish we eat, whether claypot rice, paella or biryani, it is this I await. The happy (delicious) ending!
Kamameshi refuses to change. Maybe it is for the best, a blast from the past that keeps on churning good, familiar food.
We've been going to Kamameshi for years. The beef teppan is excellent but what keeps me coming back and what is unrivaled is the Age Tofu. It's crunchy but silky, never oily. I could eat a ton!
My dad took me to this place since he and my mom used to be here a lot.
The place is very quaint and adorable! It has a nice feel to it.
I would highly suggest the yellow fin maki. It's so simple but it explodes with flavor. Don't let the simple appearance fool you. One of the best maki around Manila.
The Kamameshi rice is pretty famous here. We got the mixed rice and chicken rice. One order is enough for 3 people. The rice was soooo good. 10/10. It's what dreams are made of. 😍😍
The tempura we got was also very delicious. 🤗 I would love to come back here.
New Kamameshi House at Palanan, Makati
Since I love Japanese food and we have been seeing this restaurant for quite sometime now, we decided to visit it.
The servers are all male (I think, because I did not see any ladies out there) and they are wearing Japanese clothes (sorry I do not know what it is called). And most of the servers are old gentlemen, kaso yung nagserve samin na medyo bata bata pa, kulang kulang magserve, nagsorry naman yung isang server. I don't know of bago pa lang sya or he has no devotion to his work (peace!). When we also asked the young server about the food or what it is composed of, he wasn't able to answer, he needs to someone else pa.
Just an advice, please educate the servers too about the food and its details, so if customers ask, they can answer back as well. Thank You!
Anyways, since I love sashimi, I ordered Mixed Sashimi... and got overwhelmed with the squid sashimi (the white one), it is not chewy and hard at all, (unlike from the other Japanese restaurants that we have been). Thumbs Up Guys!
The Crispy Chicken bento is also good! ( That's my bf's order, so I just got to taste a little, because I am so busy with my meal hehe)
So for a somehow traditional feel, come to this place and try the ambiance, it is nice! and cold! hahah
You can find the parking area towards its right. The ambience is peaceful, somewhat dramatic & intimate / romantic with cool air-conditioning. I got great service for being served excellent quality food & my server was informative by offering options for my lunch.
The serving of my Ebi Tempura budget meal P220 was just right though I've had better food value elsewhere. The dilis appetizer was nice but I just wish they'd give more of that or something else. The tempura coating was crispy while the shrimp was still very hot inside. Steam was actually visible!
Sumptuous food, serene ambiance (very typically Japanese), and laudable service!!! Their trademark Kamameshi Rice is definitely a must-try. The Ebi Tempura and Yakitori are honest-to-goodness delectable. Their signature iced tea and fresh mango juice were truly refreshing. But without a doubt, what my palate and my stomach would never forget for its unique taste was the medium rare Maguro Sashimi!!! Not wanting for more words to describe this dish, let me just say.....simply yummy! For this mouth-watering experience, domo arigato gozaimasu!!!
Recovery day with sib and Mom. We had assorted Yakimono, Sukiyaki, Tempura, and Kani Kamameshi. Those 2 eat like birds so that line up was very ambitious but we finished it and left happy.
First time to go to a resto in Palanan.
We ordered a lot among 4 if us-
Kamemeshi Rice - good especially crab rice and shrimp rice
Ebi Tempura - big prawn tempura was really the stand out dish here
Gindara Teriyaki - good fresh fish, tasty
Chicken Yakitori - avoidable
Spicy Maguro Maki and Hamachi Maki- not at all memorable: just ordinary
Rice and tempura are must-try here.
The sushi, sashimi and maki were big and fresh! They're definitely the ones I could recommend. We had kamameshi rice too though it's not really a remarkable choice.
As for the place, the ambience was okay. Place was too dim. And aircon was far too cold.
I was going to kamameshi way back when there was a branch alabang near las piñas, everytime there was an occasion in the family we always went here for lunch this place was always a treat! We always went here for the Kamameshi Crab Rice it was always our favorite, I also tried the Unagidon and prepared perfectly, in the end place is pricey but quality.
I love Japanese food and I left this place with a really happy tummy. For starters, we got the California Maki Special Sushi and it was really good. The maki was rolled up nice and neat. Then had Ebi Kamameshi and the Yakitori. Both we're really good and I loved the cook of the Yakitori. Great flavors! And a must try!
When price matches quality & quantity of food, you find yourself a jewel. Along the busy road of Zobel Roxas, New Kamameshi House is there (silently inviting you to eat) good thing they have parking now hehe. Sooo for two people, we ate (a lot) Sukiyaki for One which could feed 2, Nabe Yaki Udon, Ebi Kamameshi, Beef Teriyaki, Uni Sashimi, & Cali Maki Roll. Everything came right on time.. Omg really we ate so much.. This is a bad review. Good food, good pricing, homey atmosphere, eat here. Thank me later.
A quick sneak out of the crazy makati central business district to osmena ave is worth it for a great california maki, ebi tempura and the kamameshi house signature side dish (anchovies and mongo sprout).
We had our lunch here last July 18 and it was the idea of my mom to eat here. The last time my mom ate there was more or less 20 years ago (the restaurant has been running for the past 34 years and they only have 2 stores left, one in Diliman). I asked my mom if the quality and taste of the food changed since then; surprisingly, she said that it hasn't changed at all! I was also satisfied with the attention of the waiters and they were very courteous:). It's a little bit price-y, but for me, it is just right in terms of the serving and taste. I would definitely be coming back!!! The best Japanese restaurant that I have tried. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! KUDOS!:)
Had dinner with my husband, and our friend.
It was our first time here and it was a treat! Ambience is good - private, and gives an old-authentic japanese atmosphere. Service is great; food is wonderful and it made my heart giddy! A mix up with our orders made our bill pricey - but we didn't mind since everything tasted great.
If you are looking for Authentic japanese cuisine this is one of the best restaurant to go. The place is a bit small but it could accommodate lot of people still. Addicted to their food ever since. Friendly staffs too! Remembers our preference. 👍🏼
Authentic home-made japanese cuisine! No wonder this place has been up for the longest time. A bit pricey but worth it☝?️??will definitely come back?
Been a fan of New Kamameshi House since 2007 and they serve authentic Japanese food. Their appetizer is the best. Our favorite is their ebi tempura and california maki. You will surely go home with a full stomach and wanting to go back for some more Japanese food.
Trivia: We saw Billy Crawford here!:) haha!:)
After 33 years in the industry, they still serve good japanese food. NABE YAKE UDON IS THE BEST.
My favorite restaurant since i was 4 years old!! Very authentic! Good thing they have a branch here in quezon city.???????????? my all time usual are: mixed rice, gyuniku, yasai itame.. The best california makki ever!! ????????
This is a place that my family and I always frequented when I was much younger, until now I often reminisce about how tasty our trips were there all the time.
As we came back after a long absence, we found the place had not changed much from our last visit. The exterior and interior are not what you would call the best of conditions but in the end, the food makes it worth it. The location is also rather of a challenge unless it's a weekend where traffic does not plague the area.
Just like always, I am not a fan of sushi so I won't write about that part, but the other appetizers are something that I'll critique if I may. The miso soup was a little saltier than I normally prefer, which is saying a lot. It's still edible but a little off putting. Followed rather a few minutes after is the Agedashi tofu. Dear lord this thing is heaven on a plate/bowl. Very tasty, deep fried tofu circles drenches in a sauce, makes it ever so tasty. A definite must.
The meal proper came up soon after, as always we ordered the house specialty, the kamameshi fried rice. This is Japanese fried rice in a specially made container that is a little difficult to find. Personally the chicken is our favorite and it still is. Even as a child, a hefty one even then, I could put away two of these which contained maybe 2 1/2 cups of rice in each. Yes obviously I had a weight problem, but wow this thing was good. I can still take one whole but I'd be feeling a little light headed after with a tummy full of pleasure but self guilt closely weighing behind it. Is it worth it? Totally. Maybe not as good as it used to be, it's still a fairly decent meal in itself.
However we have the orders of the yakiniku which is quite good. I prefer the chicken yakitori which is white meat chicken skewers in teriyaki sauce. This is just so perfect with the rice. Albeit it being a little dry, ask for a little more teriyaki on the side for those of you who prefer more sauce, like myself, and there you have it. They also have the wing version of this which you red meat lovers will just fall for.
Additionally we had the ever popular all shrimp tempura which is quite a pleasant surprise as they were rather large pieces of shrimp with a fair amount of batter. I wouldn't call it the best and since it's paired off with a rather high price (tempura is normally rather expensive) however the size and above average taste make it a rather promising order.
I am ashamed to say I did not check their dessert, normally it would be in my list however since I am usually too full at the end of a meal here, I forget to check... now I wonder if they have any noteworthy desserts..? I shall investigate sooner or later.
Although the overall experience is not what I remember it to be, again it doesn't live up to my romanticized memories, I still think this is a good place to try especially if you're in the area already. It's not the prettiest place, it doesn't have the best service but in the end, the food is quite an experience. I give it a very solid 3.5, maybe even 3.75 if I was given the option. Cheers!
