Tried this place twice already. Saikoro beef teppan is really good. Not salty. Crunchy kani is good too. They also have fast service and the only thing that’s hampering a 5-star is my friend tried one of the ramen and was disappointed. Sorry, can’t recall which one she tried.
Theres alot of good sushi places in Manila. I have eaten in Kenji countless times. It isn't special but it does everything well. Always have the spicy salmon or tuna rolls. Served with crunchy tempura flakes ( favourite in the fam) the tempura is good along with the crispy chicken teriyaki. Food is consistent and the staff are always welcoming although does help I was part of the furniture at one time.
Kenji tei delivery maintained the freshness, quality and taste of their food. The food arrived in perfect condition. The miso soup was still hot. The chirashi was really good. We loved the gyoza and the mapo tofu. Overall we enjoyed it. We will definitely order again next time. Thank you for the speedy delivery😊👌🏻👍🏻
This place set the bar for some crunchy kani makimono to me!!! If not the best, 1 of the, definitely.
Tried their Ramens before, nothing spectacular but will come back to try it out again.
Update on the comeback:
The Ika Fry could use a bit more seasoning or just plain salt would do, and of course had my fave again.
Really enjoyed our meal there. Ordered salmon sahimi, ebi Maki, spicy tuna salad and cheese gyoza. Servings were generous and staff was attentive. However, lots of flies that help landing on our plates! Eep.
My favorite restaurant so far. The best crunchy kani grabe! Mouth watering talaga 😍😍😍 I highly recommend this resto guys, sulit and no regrets eating here!
Their service is good and the food is good and they serve it very quickly and they have aircon and their couch is so comfy and the water is very clean
I'm actually giving this place a 3.5. In my opinion, there are better Japanese restaurants around and Kenji Tei is not top of mind. The food is good, don't get me wrong, but nothing stands out.
The food was amazing! I would recommend ordering their chicken teriyaki glaze, fried rice, and salmon belly aburi. Ambience and service was 10/10
I enjoyed eating my lunch here even if I ate alone. Staffs are friendly and will immediately come to you once they see you calling out to them. Food looks good and is really yum. Would definitely eat here again with my s.o. Thanks!
I had katsudon, miso soup and iced tea. Paid a peso more than 500 and did not regret leaving my change. lol. I stayed full ‘til dinner time. Really worth it.
All my close friends and fam know this is my fave resto! Its my comfort food. For me, they nailed the taste of their Chicken Teriyaki. Order this if its your first time there. Am absolutely thrilled with their Spicy Tuna Sashimi too (my go-to order). Its cut in squares w a huge serving! Other orders:
-chashu miso ramen
-tempura
-chahan
-crunchy kani maki
They have really yummy sushi rolls. Good location, price, and good food that will satisfy your japanese cravings! We especially liked the kani sushi rolls. Will definitely go back.

Kenji Tei was a refreshing take on ramen. You can’t really compare it to other ramen houses because the flavors are really different. It has this taste that you can remember it by. At first look, the ingredients used are not like what I’m used to and I actually wondered if it will come out good. After I got that first sip, the flavor came together. The broth compliments the ingredients inside. The noodles were thicker than usual, it also has this slightly slippery texture. Their new tempura maki is also a must try! The perfect food to snack on while taking a little break from finishing the ramen. Their menu has a lot to offer apart from just ramen, we also tried the salmon sashimi. Good alternative if you don’t like tempura. The ice tea was too strong for my taste, it’s not the sugary version. The place is not to crowded and the staff were accommodating. Perfect for a quiet lunch!

Decided to celebrate my Bday here and called them for early booking. Very Friendly staff I should say and that they even grant my request for a Happy Bday Chorale on that day! 😘
Anyways, without further ado here's my experience & review. 👇
•Other Notes:
- opens mall hour
- Accepting Senior Citizen card for discount
- Advance ordering
- Good for booking & reservation
•Menu Quality: Taste/Smell/Appearance.
- They have what to expect on a Japanese cuisine. Fresh and oishi.
- They served free fresh green tea (hot or cold)
- Sushi is well arranged aesthetically appealing and delicious
•Service & Staff:
- Very very welcoming staff.
- All smiling and polite.
- They all wear Japanese resto uniforms.
- Thet don't really sing to any celebrant but they do sang for me as special request since they don't have free bday cake or sweet treat. (I super appreciate it) 😘❤🌟👍🏻🙉
•Ambiance:
- Very relaxing place since its quiet though they dont have background music.
- Great lighting to set mood.
•Interior:
- Overall, its a Japanese Resto set up.
•Hygiene:
- The place is very clean but not well ventilated inside.
- Since its located inside Mall, we seated outside
•Price is reasonable for the quality of food! 👍
Personal Comment:
"Definitelt for Japanese food lover"
Enjoyed their varieties! 😋
•Overall Rate: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(4)👍🏻
Ordered the curry ramen for a casual lunch with colleagues. This was a ramen with tonkatsu broth that had a generous helping of curry on top.
Rather than conflicting, the flavours enhanced one another and made a thick and flavourful broth. The large order is enough for one if that is your only order. My only qualm is that you should have the option to have chashu slices in the ramen instead of the chunks in the curry.
Overall, the food was great and the service deserves its own shout out. Definitely a good place to go if you’re in the mood for Japanese.
Kenji Tei serves relatively cheap but excellent tasting ramen. Don’t be deceived by the name but Kenji Tea Ramen House does not only serve ramen but it serves an almost complete set of japanese cuisine. Almost everything in the menu is more the moderately generous in serving and flavorwise, its what you would expect in an above average Japanese resto.
This place, as i’d like to call it, is everyday-able. Meaning you can eat here everyday given the variety of menu and great taste.
Our ordered:
Soyu Ramen 👉 The taste is so standard, not as good as I expect.
Spicy miso ramen 👉 Too much spring onion, not too spicy and the noodle is really small portion.
Chicken curry 👉 Good Taste, the chicken is tender as well.
Agedashi tofu 👉 Tasteless, but still ok.
Tempura cheese maki 👉 A bit tasteless even put soyu sauce, like the crunchiness.
Service is good, should more pay attention to the customer.
Ambiance is good also.
Ramen was not the best but the Tempura maki was a winner!
Yasai itame was flavorful but a little oily.
Food was served fast so great!
Air con wasn’t working though.
4 🌟 for food taste (The food may not look delicious and is dull in the menu but it is good once you tasted it.)
4 🌟 for ambiance (Calm and relaxing feeling while eating.)
4 🌟 for service (Attentive crews)
4 🌟 for overall experience (Love it overall but I think they need to work out on presentation 😉)
We went out for lunch and decided to have a ramen to soothe my sore throat and cold. Their ramen flavors are really unique. For me, I ordered a curry ramen. I really loved it! Actually, it was my first time to finish a whole bowl of ramen. I usually leave the ramen broth when I'm already done and satisfied with the noodles and other ingredients.
You should try this Kenji Tei Ramen House. 4/5 for the taste. 4/5 for the price. And 4/5 for the service.
I am still lazy to post more, but this resto is worth an itch in the net. Hahahahaha! 😉
So my GF had those one of those painful day every month & can only eat anything with soup. We decided to go for ramen.
I had Spicy negi ramen. Over-all it's very tasty, not that spicy but very good. I liked the meat toppings. Miso Butter corn had a milder taste that can probably enjoyed by people who dont like spicy foods.
Their Crunchy Kani rocks! It can be paired with any ramen & really hits the spot. Serving is also generous! Guaranteed you will end your meal with a full tummy😁
So me and my fam went here at greenbelt branch.
we ordered the ff.
And it was all soo good.
Price is in thr middle not too cheap but not too expensive.
Quality of food and service are okay so.. Ill give it a 5
Had our org's meeting in this Ramen place and I what I ordered is unorthodox. For some reason I was craving for Crispy Chicken Teriyaki and so I succumb to my craving. The dish is generally good, crispy it is though I find it on the sweet side (maybe because I did not pair it with rice).
Service is commendable as the staff were attentive and helpful at most times.
Who wouldn't love to have ramen on those glory days as if you feel the bloody struggle of being a woman? (I'm secretly Deadpool, btw)
As for me, while browsing through the menu, when I saw butter and corn together in one sentence or phrase-- it makes me want to order it!-- and so I did. Miso Butter Corn ramen for me! And, since my bf is into spicy things, he ordered the Spicy Negi ramen. Both regular sized. Since I'm craving for some appetizers to go with our ramen, our choices were their best sellers: Cheese Gyoza & Crunchy Kani. But my bf didn't feel like eating gyoza, sooo... we ordered a Crunchy Kani set.
Their regular-sized ramen blew us away because it really worth the price and totally unexpected! I loved the taste of the Miso Butter Corn. It has that buttery taste that I love and I didn't feel or taste the 'miso' at all. As for the Spicy Negi, it was 7/10 spicy for me. For the Kani set, I fell in love. The sliced crab was perfectly blanketed and seasoned around authentic Japanese rice and sprinkled with chili oil and tempura flakes.
As for the place, we were lucky enough to be designated inside, our table with the glass window behind us, overlooking some parts of Greenbelt. The servers were attentive and friendly. I would definitely come back and try their other dishes too!
Through a good friend, I was introduced to this unassuming place for a ramen. I've never heard nor seen anything related to them prior the visit, really, but according to my friend, they serve decent ramen that could be just as good as the mainstream ones. My friend got a Gomoku Shio, a medley of seafood, pork, and veggies, while I got their Miso Butter Corn. I trusted my instincts on that one. 😁 Corn, and butter? Always a good combination. 👍🏻 The orders came, and I was surprised to see the size of their bowl! It was so huge for a "large" sized portion! It's almost the size of a small pot, really. Mine had a generous serving of corn, and knob of butter melting on top of the broth, slices of chashu pork, and pork mince. It was unexpectedly good! To be honest, with the dominance of other famous ramen houses, I didn't expect much, but this was worth the try! Serving portion was impeccable, as a large bowl alone could feed two, or three persons already.
Kenji Tei can easily win hearts not just on their ramen but also with their other menu items. Serving size is big for its price and you’ll eventually and will easily go back to try other dishes.
#Shallireturn to Kenji Tei Ramen House?
It’s called a ramen house but the best food we’ve had here are the other menu items. We love the spicy salmon (maki or sashimi, both good), crispy chicken teriyaki, and the seafood chahan. For ramen, we enjoy the miso butter corn.
Service is okay.
We were craving for some Japanese food after seeing Kenji Tei got featured in an online article. The article was about the top Ebi Tempuras in the Metro so we thought of trying it here.
The dinner scene was quite busy so there was a noticeable delay with our complete food order. Our order got delayed and we only got our Spicy Tuna Sashimi and Tonkatsu. There was a long stretch of wait after we got our Oyakodon, Ebi Tempura and rice. Though it was just a minor hiccup on the dinner experience it left us almost becoming "hangry".
Given the wait on our food we "attacked" our food starting with our mains Oyakodon and the Tonkatsu. The Oyakodon was a variant of the Katsudon but the chicken was bare but that did not diminish the yummy flavor. It's a perfect combination with rice as you can indluge in the sauce.
Spicy Tuna Sashimi looked delectable and was covered in breading. It had that interesting texture and the spice is what I really liked as it sent a wave of flavor on my tongue until my throat. Customers with a penchant for spicy things would definitely enjoy this one.
The Ebi tempura was the last one to go out from the kitchen. I just had to use my hand to enjoy the tempura instead of using chopsticks. This took away any consciousness of using proper chopstick usage and instead use my senses to enjoy this dish more. It had a good balance of the batter and the shrimp.
It was an all good experience with Kenji Tei. The choices we made were a bit plenty for me and my SO but the great flavor of each dish inspired us to finish our plates. The staff speed and coordination can still be improved but we still enjoyed our dinner there.
The restaurant has a very cozy ambiance and it could easily seat a large number of people. Interior is great, reminds me of long strands of ramen noodles. I especially liked the design of the ceiling matching with the counter. Their spot in Greenbelt 5 is refined, clean, not too cramped and well date-worthy.
MUST try their Cheese Gyoza. Most of the gyoza I’ve tried in Japanese restaurants only had meat or pure vegetable in them. Their version of cheese gyoza is plump and fried to a crisp, it is generously filled with cream cheese inside. One bite and you will taste the cheesy goodness. Their ramens are very tasty especially the chashu miso ramen and miso butter corn ramen. Both the soup broth was really potently good! What I found particularly delicious in their ramens were the noodles themselves. We also love the Crunchy Kani Maki, and this is a dish that we never forget to order when we go here.
Serving time was quite quick. Compared to other famous ramen places, Kenji Tei could be considered relatively affordable while still being able to maintain the authenticity of the flavor.
Kenji tei was originally a small bf restaurant. Now it has grown to several branches and a more extensive menu.
We recommend:
Spicy Tuna Salad
Crispy Chicken Teriyaki
Tempura
Mapo Tofu Ramen
They have an excellent selection of sashimi, ramen, and rice meals.
This particular ramen house can be quite busy even on a weeknight. Nevertheless, the waitstaff is very attentive & accommodating to the steady influx of hungry diners. We (R2e2bl) ordered our choice bowls of ramen. I had the Miso Butter Corn Ramen. Serving is very generous. What I noticed, at once, though, are the obvious swirly traces of liquid butter on the mediocre broth. It was off putting & I thought the butter would have been better off recognised through taste rather than by sight? Noodle has good consistency but the flavor does not soak into it like I would have preferred. The chashiu is not melt-in-your-mouth & has that porky aftertaste. The salmon sashimi is not fresh enough. Gyoza is enjoyably delicious, steamed just right. Dining here makes me think of Ukkokei Ramen Ron.
Ordered shoyu ramen. Im not impressed with the broth. Ambiance of the place is nice. Neat and clean. Service crew are attentive and polite. Will come back to taste some other ramen.
Regularly eat at their branch in Alabang and the food is consistent in both branches. Very good and affordable Japanese food! They have a selection of ramen which are pretty decent and they have great spicy salmon! I recommend this place if you're in the mood for casual Japanese food.
I was looking for a ramen place that serves sushi. I stumbled upom this restaurant in Zomato Ramen Collection. I'm so glad I tried it out.
The regular size of their ramen can satisfy a hungry customer. The large might be good for sharing.
Spicy Maguro Maki - I didn't expect it to be so good. The maki itself has good rice ratio and flavor. The added tuna tempura salad on top is like a gift. Never thought a ramen specialty place can serve maki rolls like this. Better than most I tried.
Mabo Tofu Ramen - not your typical ramen. Very generous in toppings. I had a hard time finishing this as the soup is so thick but yummy.
Spicy Negi Ramen - this may look plain but it packs full flavor. Comes with 2 slices of pork. Could've been better if served with egg.
Yaki Gyoza - I didn't like this one bit. Seems like there is no pork inside. The dipping sauce is above room temp that it made the gyoza cold also. More room for improvement for this one.
The place is spacious and beautiful especially when seated at the couch by the window as you can see the outside of Greenbelt.
Consistently good spicy salmon rolls. The other table was also having it when we were there at the store opening one early Sunday. Sashimi also a steal at P300.
A great go to when looking for comfort food. The Mabo Tofu ramen with a side of Gyoza makes a perfect pair.
The noodles doesn't feel too heavy and it absorbed the smoky taste of the rich soup . It's also healthy with all the tofu, shiitake mushrooms and bell pepper that complimented the ramen well.
The gyoza reminded me of the authentic ones I have tasted in Japan. Slightly crisp and the meat does not leave an after taste.
Overall, the waiting time is short and the food is affordable, undoubtedly a good way to tickle one's taste buds!
Keep it up!
Comfort food. Good ambiance. Friendly staff. Convenient location. Value for money.
You should try chicken teriyaki, maki, and their houseblend tea.
We'll done. The food is so good. Tingin palang nakakabusog na. :) Especially gomoko shio ramen. All staff are very kind and They give good service. I will assure recommended to my friends. Thankyou Kenjie Tei. 👍

My husband really love the Gomuko Shio ramen and saikoro beef teppan..
Me i love everything at kenji tei. Good food good service..
Definitely we will try all of it, because we love Japanese foods.
Really love the food.fresh and good quality of sashimi, and the Ramen is really great.one of my favorite is the gomoku shio ramen, super suit.
Affordable prices, good quality of food yummy and friendly staff, one of my favorite dish is the Miso Ramen, love the fresh vegetables on top,and the crispy chicken teriyaki is the best
The food was great the dinning experience was great all the staff were accomodating i love the crunchy kani maki and chix teriyaki it made may day complete we will surely come back thanks kenji tei
The food is straight to the point, nothing fancy, but definitely meets what most diners ask for - Flavor and Value. In terms to the service of the team, the servers are always pleasant and courteous. The store is showing age already but never fails to provide that cozy ambiance that makes guests want to stay for a while and chat a little after finishing their food.
I always come here right after school because the food is just so good! I really love the Crunchy Kani Roll and their Chicken Teriyaki. 💖 However, during the weekdays afternoon, I see some of the staff sleeping in the tables. They could rest somewhere else though instead of showing the customers.
The chuashi miso ramen was delectably fulfilling. I couldn't finish the it due to the large serving (for a regular size!), but the katsu pork, vegetables, and egg that came with it was a great match with the noodles and soup. What really hit the spot though was the crunchy kani roll. 8 pieces of maki with crunchy kani bits as topping was worth the money. Would recommend to others!
Good Japanese resto in Greenbelt 5.
We had a watermelon shake followed by Agedashi Tofu, which was silken soft and yummy.
Beef Curry Rice was similar to what you get elsewhere - makes a pretty good meal. Mabo tofu Ramen is quite a unique dish here. Soy-based ramen with tofu and spicy sauce. Yummy and light too.
Crispy Chicken Teriyaki was good too. Crisp chicken with a teriyaki dip.
GOOD ambience. BETTER service. BEST food. Just the way dining should be. I'll come back and try other food on the menu. Will recommend to family and friends.

This venue is a happy place - comfort food kind' venue. The menu is very straight forward. It's priced reasonably so expect a crowd esp lunch time in weekdays. If you plan to sit inside - the back area gets very warm (and noisy) when it's a full house.
There is outside seating - inside the mall still so this place is not for those who want to smoke while waiting for their food.
...yes, I keep coming back for more.
Kenji Tei used to dominate the BF Foodie scene pre-instagram (mid 2000s). Before branching out in Alabang, Makati, Santa Rosa and soon to open in Binondo, they used to be this tiny ramen shop at the corner of Elizalde and Presidents Avenue, BF Homes. One can see all the diners cramming inside the well designed restaurant. I instantly feel transported elsewhere whenever we dine in. Sadly they long closed shop in BF.
They already had ramen before the ramen craze swept Manila. I once heard that it is made fresh daily. Others may have dominated, but what we love at Kenji Tei is their Crispy Chicken Teriyaki and the Cheese Gyoza. Their version of the Cheese Gyoza are plump and fried to a crisp. One bite and you will taste the cheesy goodness. Dip it in the Japanese Mayo with Chili Oil for that added flavor. This is perfect with a cup of Fried Rice. The Crispy Chicken Teriyaki comes with a side of shredded cabbage and a dallop of Japanese Mayo. Crisp and generous on the skin, it is a salty sweet piece of meat perfect for sharing.
Interiors are great, the ceiling reminded me of long strands of ramen noodles. Senior discounts honored. Recommended for those two dishes if you are not up for ramen.
I just love their Mabo Tofu ramen. That's my go to lunch meal when I need to wind up for the rest of the day. Pricing is ok, service is fast and staff are courteous.
What we ordered: Shoyu Ramen and Cheese Gyoza
After trying so many restaurants that serves ramen, we felt that Kenji Tei was one of the lowest ranked that we have ever tasted. It was good if you have tasted it before other good ramen places but sadly, it is nothing compared to them.
But don't worry, they serve a decent amount of ramen for a decent price as well. It's delicious but we prefer other places. On the other hand, the Cheese Gyoza is deep-fried and feels like fried dumplings that had cheese. We personally felt like Gyozas are better as it is. Also we noticed that normally, Gyozas are grilled on one side only, and this one is not.

Ate here with the hubsky, in-laws and other relatives. They suggested the place :) The food is good, but the service is really great (friendly, professional & speedy service). I think it's a little overpriced for its quality & serving size, but you're in Greenbelt, so I didn't expect anything less.
We ordered:
Shio Ramen
Chasu Miso Ramen
Spicy Negi Ramen
Gomoku Shio Ramen
Yaki Gyoza
Katsudon
Spicy Tuna Sashimi
Again, everything was good, but I actually think there's better ramen out there. But still worth trying :) everyone has different tastes, and their food just happens to not be as satisfying as I expected it to be. But I gave a higher rating because of their service - and this place is kiddie approved! Lots of high chairs and open space outside the restaurant for strollers :)
I'm sorry! I intended to post pictures but I probably was so hungry that I was only able to take a photo of the crunchy kani rolls lol. So my verdict, I'd say food was great. Nowadays Ramen houses have intense flavors in their broth that somehow isn't really to my liking. The Ramen I ordered was the Chashu Miso Ramen and it had tamago (others serve this as an extra though). . It was good, the regular serving was enough to satisfy my hunger for a Ramen that's just right in every way.. The chashu slices were thin and almost melt in your mouth... I think I'm gonna have to pay them another visit one of these days
This is becoming one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. I'm back for more Crunchy Kani Roll. I'm with the fam so we ordered three! We also ordered the Kani Salad which was gone in just a few minutes. Yum,yum. This time we tried a different ramen, the Chashu Miso Ramen. And it was good, the chashu was really tender and flavorful. Another new item that we tried is Saikoro Beef Teppan. An instant hit with the fam, the beef morsels getting all praises for being so tender and cooked just right. The french beans and mushroom that went with were delicious. We also got our favorite the Crispy Chicken Teriyaki. Again, another pleasurable lunch experience at Kenji Tei.
They serve quality japanese food that will keep you coming back for more! We would usually order the Crunchy Kani Roll, Spicy Maguro Roll, Tempura, Salmon Sashimi and my favorite crispy chicken teriyaki! My friends and I recently tried their ramen and this left us completely satisfied!
Kenji Tei simply is the best!
Worst 😣😑😐🙂☺😁 Best
☺Food - ramen is good, but not as good as Yushoken.
☺Ambience - nice cozy Jap vibe, good view of Greenbelt
☺Price - standard ramen price
😁Service - Courteous staff
We visit the Resturant regularly, at least once a week. Environment is good. We love the mixed sashimi plate, Oni Salad and Unigadon. Price maybe a little high for some people but the food quality is excellent, that worth the money you pay for. If you looking for quality Japanese dining, this is the place you don't want to miss.
When I'm in the Philippines, this is a must-go place for me. The crunchy Kani Maki is one of the best sushi I've tried, rice is cooked well, great combination of crab meat and tempura crunch on the outside, fish eggs were amazing as well. Tempura is also succulent but I would like a bigger portion. The yakisoba tastes good, fresh flavors but there was more cabbage than the noodles I think. Finally, the tonkatsu was to die for as well, juicy and goes well with the jasmine rice. Overall, one of my favorite Jap restau. Ambiance is simple yet classy, staff are accommodating as well! Thumbs up!!
Been raining the past days so I craved for ramen. Went to Kenji cause it's one of the nearest ramen houses in the area, and cause I haven't been yet. Ordered the Charsiu ramen, one of their bestsellers, and the California Maki (the only maki I am willing to devour). The broth is thick and very tasty, the noodles very firm. The meat is so tender and delicious. I also like that the ramen has ground meat because I'm a "more meat, less greens" kind of eater. The Maki, on the other hand, looks a little sad to me. It's almost all white and doesn't have those little orange thingy (sorry I don't know what they're called 😔) which is my favorite. Could've just ordered a large ramen and no maki.
