Went here yesterday with my best friend. She's a returning customer while it was my first time. The food is very filling, fresh, and authentic Japanese! We ordered tonkotsu ramen, gyudon, cheesy takoyaki balls, and ebi temple. It was splendid! The staff is very nice and accommodating. The place has a good ambiance - well lit, well ventilated, has a really good aesthetic, and relaxing environment. They also observe proper health protocols in this time of pandemic. Well done!
Everything was good but salmon was a bit dry and overcooked. I hope they add more side dishes for its price.
loved their food.
super affordable!!!
salmon was so fresh ull keep coming back for it!
cant wait to go back to this resto. found my new jap place to satisfy my craving...
the best thing is your paying for your money's worth!!!
Love their Gyudon. Best I've tried here in Manila. And it's just Php229 for that huge bowl.

My 4th time in Manmaru. Their food is sooo good. I hope they can fix their aircon. Dinning area becomes hot when it's super crowded.
So good! If you happen to be around MCS, then this place is a must-try. Everything we ordered were delicious (Okinomiyaki Deluxe, Katsudon, Miso Ramen, Spicy Tuna Maki) I would definitely love to be back here, and try the other food selections in the menu 💖
Also, huge thanks to the lady guard who was very attentive of the customers’ belongings.
My only complaint is that they don’t have service water. Hahaha. But other than that, this place is perfect. Been coming here for several times already and everytime, I order a diffferent dish. And so far, I’ve been enjoying everything.
Currently my fave Japanese restaurant. The sashimi were all fresh, quality food. The beef is a must try. Manmaru Roll, as well. Everything was perfect. The ambience. The food. Service can be improved.
2nd time to eat here. We tried the lunch sets this time. Great food for a fair price point. Their serving is filling I have to say, the ambiance and size of the place is nice too. This could be my next go to place after Kikufuji or Nihonbashitei if it gets too busy there. The only thing I hope they improve on is the quality of rice cos so far that’s the only downside of this place. Didn’t like the bowl of rice, too sticky and overcooked for me and the one they used for the sushi, there were bits of rice that are undercooked. Not sure if they use japanese rice or just the regular one. Hope they do something about it because their rice could be a dealbreaker. Also I’d like to try their Oolong High next time. Will go back here for sure, hope the quality of rice is better by then. Hehe!
We are loving this place! Our latest favorite Japanese resto. We love that it is so much more affordable than other Japanese place. Servings were also generous.
I will go back for their hiyashichuka, their karubi beef and arubi salmon!

Went here to satisfy my salmon cravings and went back very satisfied!
Had Sashimi 5 Tenmori - delectable array of salmon, tuna, herring with roe, squid and vinegar marinated mackerel. Very fresh! The other dish I had Aburi Salmon Hotate Mayo is a maki like salmon and scallop creation. Washed down with their house cold tea.

This may be my new favorite Japanese restaurant. Lots of space, bright, clean, good service, and excellent affordable food.
The rice bowls were very filling. Serving sizes are huuuuuge. I got a karaagedon and there were so many chicken pieces in it. Seemed like there were three cups of Japanese rice in it as well. It was served with some pink mayo sauce. My SO got a katsudon, his go-to, and the cutlet was as big as his face. Then there was the katsu curry! Another gigantic cutlet but with overflowing curry sauce. We also ordered some rolls and gyoza, but I forgot to take pics. Everything tasted great!
No service water, but other drinks were very affordable. Beer was just Php 60 per bottle!
The loo was clean and had bidets! We're def coming back!
Food was amazing and very affordable. Would definitely come back to try the other dishes. 😊
We were supposed to eat at Little Tokyo but we decided to rome around and surprised to find this place.
Outside it may seem that the place is small but is is really big. They have different rooms that can occupy more than 10 heads. Id definitely give 5 for the ambiance, food and the service. A must try along legaspi village!! 😘
AMBIENCE
We were impressed by the size! From outside, we thought what-you-see-is-what-you-get: a well-lit restaurant with lanterns and the food menu items posted everywhere in Japanese. When we were being assisted to our table, they brought us to the back and it was a revelation of how huge the restaurant was! Layout was beautiful and there were many spots that could make nice backgrounds for portrait photos. They also had private rooms utilizing sliding doors!
FOOD
Menu was also overwhelming since it was filled with useful photos! Dishes we've tried and I'd recommend would be:
Beef Teppan Yaki: amazing with the sauce that comes with it (still for you to pour)
Ebi Tempura 5 pcs: an all-time fave for most. They're big!
Katsuni: like Katsudon, but saucy
Tempura Udon: sweet, tasty broth with a huge tempura and noodles!
Yakitori Moriawase 5 Shu: good quality assorted grilled meats. Liver's our best choice!
They also served us addicting cold tea in beer mugs; strong and tasty!
SERVICE
We received lots of high energy when staffers greeted us when we entered and left the branch. Food items arrived quickly one after another and the bill was no exception. Minea, who donned a spiffy managerial uniform, was thoughtful and prepared our chopsticks for us. And just like other staffers, she was easy to call for assistance.
Food is fresh and I love the unlimited free cold tea, just try to avoid going during lunch because the place is always full, you will love the food and drinks, I also especially love the salads and meals with beef
This new restaurant is located right next to Little Tokyo in Makati. Been here 4 times for lunch and have been able to try the karaagedon, katsudon, chicken teppanyaki, beef gyudon, and matcha ice cream. Of the four dishes, I liked the chicken teppanyaki and beef gyudon best. I was only able to try the curry sauce of my companion one time and it's quite promising. I think I'll try it on my next visit.
For a meal at around Php 250 - Php 300, this place is a gem. Most Japanese restaurants in the area are normally packed during lunch time so if you're not in the mood to wait in line, this is the place to be.
Compared to Izakaya Kikufuji whose lunch sets are also at the same price point, I'd say Izakaya is superior in terms of taste.
I must commend Manmaru though because it's cleaner and has better lighting. The restroom is clean.
Tip: They do serve house tea, either hot or cold.
The staffs are very helpful and the dishes are tasty! The ambience is so cool as well, I would definitely come back and try their private rooms soon!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Staff - Very accommodating, fast service lalo na kay Manong Guard n nka duty kahapon, super bait!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Food- Affordable and Delicious !
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Place- Spacious and Malinis.
Pretty much got attracted to the lights and the ambience of this restaurant and that's why we found ourselves eating here. We had a Gyudon (Php229) which is served with a poached egg but was very delicious. And my boyfriend had Katsucurry (Php299) which he enjoyed because it had deeper flavors. The Uni sushi was the star of the show with it being super fresh and sweet. Definitely will come back.

Been here twice. The price is affordable for an authentic Japanese taste. Very attentive staff. They don't serve service water but instead cold or hot japanese tea. Must try to those craving for real Japanese food
Manmaru is a welcome addition to the Japanese food scene. It is inexpensive and the food is nice. It’s at a price point where all it has to be is nice - don’t expect great and pay this little.
The food is tasty and I appreciate that the cooking isn’t lazy. It’s inexpensive because the cuts of meat and seafood are not prime or the miso soup is a little bit more diluted than usual. But the portions are good and I will choose this place over nearby Nihonbashitei.
We had decent service - but that was because we were there on a non-peak time. I can imagine service falling apart if there were a crowd.
All in all would return for dinner and a drink - when craving and on a budget.
The place was jam packed with customers when we arrived.
Service was fast and our order arrived in 10minutes.
We ordered gyoza, beef curry, sukiyaki, 5 type sashimi and spicy crunchy salmon roll.
My favorite would be the beef sukiyaki and gyoza. Gyoza tasted authentic and the sweetness of the sukiyaki was just right.
All in all, I'll give it a 4.5/5 stars.
It was quite full when we got there but was seated by the bar.
Other reviews that state slow service - it seems that they have fixed this as we did not wait long for food and bill.
Quality of food is pretty good for the price they charge. Competitive to other long established izakayas like Nihon and Kiku. Menu is not as extensive as those two restaurants but have similar offerings. I like it as the menu is more streamlined.
Would eat here again and keep it part of my regular Japanese izakaya rotation.
Food 4/5
Service 3/5
Ambiance 3/5
Restaurant needs to be colder
Waiters and Cooks scream a lot which can be very very annoying makes people anxious / uneasy
Food was good overall ,very affordable.
Value for money! 😋
It’s amazing how big their menu is. If you love Japanese food you’ll definitely love this place. they have everything from Sushi to Ramen to shabu shabu to teppanyaki to yakitori, they even have kushikatsu and takoyaki!!
This definitely is a japanese haven. You know its legit because most of their customers are japanese. 😌
Dishes:
1. Okonomiyaki - 4/5
2. Tempura soup w/ soba- 3.5/5
3. Tonkatsu -4/5
1. This was definitely a dish for sharing. Size was larger than my hand and flavors were on point. Worth the price.
2. Soup was also a large portion. Couldn’t finish it. Only issue concerning me was that the broth was a bit on the saltier side.
3. By far the juiciest fried pork cutlet I have ever tasted in the Philippines. For me even better than Yabu cutlets. Highly recommend to anyone. Just make sure you come hungry.

Food was at a very affordable price yet very tasty! We tried most of the rice (don) meals as well as gyu sukiyaki, perfect for large groups. Will come back for the sushi!
I happen to visit this newly opened Japanese restaurant in Makati Central Square. Yes it is near Little Tokyo and is infront of the established Japanese restaurants in the area. Although a new comer, Manmaru promises to be comeptitive with their affordable food and variety of choices. The vibe here is light and contemporary. The interior is bright and colorful. I had grilled Saba (Mackerel) ordered it in lunch set. The food was amazing. I gabe a 4 stars as the service still needs more improvement (order taker takes to long, and some of what I ordered in the menu were not yet available despite their full opening last month) as well as the chairs doesn’t have backrest (except for the chairs near the sushi bar). Will reset my ratings if these things are addressed.
Great Food, Friendly Staff and Spacious I would definitely comeback😀 The takoyaki & katsu curry is my favorite🍱🍛👍🏼🍚. I also like the Ambiance of the reastaurant

You will not miss this brightly lit japanese resto in Makati Cinema Square. Upon entry you will feel this vibrant vibe.
Pros
1. Unlike many restos in little tokyo, the ambience is younger, brighter and more alive!
2. Affordable prices
3. Comprehensive menu
4. Lots of space!
5. Acoustics was good. No need to shout to be heard
6. Attentive waitstaff
Cons
1. They only accept cash for now.
2. Gohan didn’t taste and feel like Japanese rice
3. The seats don’t have back rest. (They have actual chairs at the back area, but it feels more alive to be near the entrance area. Your choice)
4. Aburi Salmon - average for me.
5. Gyu teppanyaki - average for me.
I wonder what the other patrons ordered. They look happier than me.
Willing to give this resto another shot
Manmaru japanese restaurant, competing in the saturared market of japanese izakaya resto in the metro, surprisingly enough i believe this resto is here to stay and compete, pricing, ambiance wise has the vibe of an authentic japanese resto(been to japan twice) so i know my stuff. Enjoy visit this place
This place screams JAPAN all over! So nice, it made me feel that I literally ate at an authentic Izakaya in Japan. This might be one of the the best Japanese Izakaya here in the Philippines. Highly recommended!
