Excellent meat and side dishes as well! But you have to do the cooking but not to worry, it is a smokeless grill! I've been to the place several times and I don't get tired of it!

It’s the 2nd time I visited the restaurant and on both occasions there were more Japanese customers than Filipinos. That should account for something.

Yakiniku shop of Japanese style in Makati at Jupiter st.
Personally I think it is the most delicious in Manila.
Especially wagyu sashimi and yukke are recommended.
I will visit again when I go nearby.

They serve one of the best beef I’ve tasted. The Jo Karubi tastes so good - you can tell they only serve premium quality meat. As the name of the restaurant implies, they really specializes on meat as the other food items in my opinion were just so-so. They have salad, sashimi and sushi but don’t expect anything similar with other Japanese restaurants (they don’t have Kani Salad, salmon sashimi and the like). For sides, we got the Namuru Moriawase which consists of three side dishes (bean sprouts, spinach and mushrooms). I find their food pricey - but for the meat alone, I can say it’s worth it.

One of the best Yakiniku I ever had. If you're craving for meat, Yokohama Meat Kitchen is the perfect place. Jo karubi is a must-try. The meat is savory and premium. Eat here during lunch time it is cheaper than dinner time.

One of the best yakiniku that I've tasted. We tried the wagyu set for grilling and it is definitely a must try. Good place to dine with friends and family.

Nice neighborhood Yakiniku restaurant in Jupiter St. and relatively cleaner than the other options in Pasay Road, Japan Town and Poblacion area. The selection of meat cuts and other Japanese/Korean dishes is very decent. I would however stick to the meats since they have a varied choice of cuts depending on your preference of quality, budget and marbling, while the rest are just so-so. The rice thought is very good since I think they import it from Japan. Not exactly the cheapest place but a good option to satisfy your Yakiniku cravings.

Best Japanese Yakiniku restaurant so far. I have always visited here at least 10 times now. Staff are friendly and well trained. Just like if you are in Japan. My favorites are "Negi gyutan", "kimchi(kakuteki)", "large rice", "wagyu harami"and so on... everything is beyond expectation.

Anything barbecued is delicious, but when you use prime cuts of meat, it is just heaven. Yokohama meat kitchen offers a selection of prime cuts marinated to perfection. Paired with Yokohama don which is Egg Tempura on rice -- WINNER. Jo Hire and Yaki Suki were both tasty. It's a little expensive so prepare your wallet!

Tried out this Yakiniku place because I love Yakiniku and see how it fares vs my favorite. We ordered the short ribs and the beef tenderloin. I prefered the beef short ribs more than the tenderloin since the tenderloin was a bit tough. The short ribs though was tasty and juicy that you wouldn't need a dipping sauce for it. We also ordered their gyoza but I felt their gyoza was a bit oily thus making it very slippery. Overall, the experience was ok with a good ambience and an ok service.

Surprisingly packed on a Tuesday night. An omen of good things to come. The place opened sometime late 2014, taking over the Chinese restaurant that sadly did not make the standards.

We had the Jo Hire, Jo Yaki, Torimomo, Butabara and and wagyu gyoza. All the beef orders were excellent -- very tender and nicely-marinated. The beef prices are significantly lower than the Jo Karubi offered in my fave yakiniku place in Little Tokyo. They may or may not be the same beef variant (and weight) but I really could not tell the difference. To me, this is of excellent value. The Jo Yaki is likely the same beef except that it has a raw egg dip included. Their pork and chicken offerings are likewise marinated well. Never salty (esp the pork) unlike some others. All orders are based on 100 grams so you may want to do the math to compare pricing. The wagyu gyoza was quite alright. Plump, juicy and not overly pan-fried. I could not tell that the meat mixed into it was wagyu beef (from the usual pork) but I definitely do not mind at all at P190+ per 6-pc serving. They also have a "sampler" dish wherein you can try most of their meats then you can re-order those you like best. My comment on their steamed rice is that it's way too sticky and heavy. I can almost compare it to our local rice cake delicacies. They should do something about this. P190+ for a "large" cup (probably good for 2-3 pax) is not cheap for this kind of quality.

All said, the marination was the kicker for me. I simply loved the taste of their meats. Their dipping sauce was also excellent. Light and not salty. A great bonus is that you don't smell like the food after. Their grills have strong exhausts along the immediate sides which virtually make the grilling smokeless. A minor observation is that they do not use the imported Japanese coal but instead, use LPG. Japanese coal would make the grilled meat a bit more authentic-tasting.

I just noticed that there wasn't any seafood offered for grilling. A negative for those trying to avoid meat. Service was great as we were well-attended to by multiple servers despite the full house, and parking was quite easy.

Went here on a Sunday evening. The place was almost full with just a couple of tables available.

We had the Karubi (beef short ribs) and the Yakiniku style Sukiyaki to be grilled at the table. Both meats were soft and flavorful. The soy/vinegar dip was good, but I didn't really dig the egg dip. The lower than 4 rating reflects just the fact that I missed all those yummy appetizers that come in a similar Korean barbecue.

Also had the torimomo (chicken thigh) grilled at the table. Tasted good but the portion was quite small.

Ended with a Karubi soup - spicy and flavorful.

Had lunch twice already here and in both visits had the Tempura Keishoku Nami. Serving size is good. Size of the shrimps is impressive as well. Sauce can be more tasty though. Unlimited salad is much appreciated too. Worth a try for those who have not.
