Great DJs, especially when it's GROOVE night
Drinks are good. We went here for chill party and it did not disappoint. The ground level is like socializing are, 2nd floor is like the rave party with friends, the rooftop part is the chill part with slight top view of street.

Considering that this is bar food, the price range is just right. I got a little disappointed when I saw the portions, but after tasting the food, I'd say the focus is on quality. Their meat is perfectly cooked. Juice escapes the meat on every bite. The pasta is lacking a bit of umami, but overall the food is impressive.
We ordered cheeseburger, mom's spaghetti & meatballs and french fries. The burger was ranked #9 as one of the best in Manila by Spot.ph and now I know why. They used USDA beef and you would know theres no extenders added to the patty. The double patty burger is just right for an average guy like me. Just add 50 pesos and you'll get a plate of french fries. The meatballs from the pasta is also delish and hearty. You'll get 3 big meatballs with melted cheese and fried basil on top. Will go back here soon to try their other food.
The staff are very nice and attentive of our needs. I love the cheeseburger meal that we ordered. The restaurant concept is also okay, the view in the third floor is also fantastic.
Food/drinks are great considering the not so expensive price. Crew are friendly and attentive. Place is best on Friday and Saturday for party people. š
This place has 3 floors in total and all floors become packed especially on weekend nights. Tried out a couple of cocktails - daiquiri and amaretto sour and some snacks - fries and grilled cheese. Best to stay in their rooftop since it's an open space and less noise compared to staying inside.

The night was busy but the service was still really good! We ordered the steak with rice and it was amazing especially with the Zomato Gold membership. The fries didn't come with any toppings though so I feel like that can still improve for the price paid.

Ate here for late lunch, 4 rating is for the food especially the affordable Steak Rice. It was only ā±295 per bowl and was so delicious. The meat was perfectly cooked and they were large chunks so you could really call them āsteakā unlike other restos that serve steak rice toppings with shredded beef or tiny bits of meat. The seasoned rice/ fried rice was awesome too, super tasty. Reminds me of my comfort food - rice with knorr seasoning or maggi savor- but of course their version is better.
Was tempted to give it a 3 though because of the difficult parking situation in Poblacion. Although we were the only patrons at that time, off peak/ mid afternoon, we couldnāt park nearby because street pakring was allowed in the evening only, not even at the front of the restaurant because there wasnāt any. We circled around Poblacion twice until we decided to just park in Power Plant Mall and walk āļø (free exercise!).
We used Zomato Gold here which made it even more sulit (weird though that we had 2 memberships and we were 2 persons but they insisted that we could only unlock one because unlocking is only allowed for every 2 persons. Iāve used Zomato Gold 50+ times, with the same arrangement, and this was the only time we encountered that policy. Iāve heard of such policy but applicable to another country, not to the Philippines. So, just a warning to Zomato Gold users who plan to use it here UNLESS they have changed their policy since our visit last month).
We also ordered Mamou Lobster Rolls with fries (yes, the same ones that are served in Mamou - the steak place). These are not part of Zomato Gold since they are specialty items.
There are many other items on the menu that sound delicious, maybe weāll try on our next visit (when we find a better way than walking over from Power Plant Mall LOL).
šÆ for their steak rice! For the price of P295, you already get such a big serving of rice cooked in delicious steak sauce, and an ample amount of meat seared just enough to bring out the flavors. Would recommend this with egg too. Goes well with any beer too.

NoKal is one of the coolest spot in Poblacion. Eachnof the 3 floors have their own vibe depends on your mood and appetite.
On the first floor, younahve your airy diner set up. Great to have dinner and catch up with friends.

So glad this place decided to redesign its space. It was a little too seedy-looking before. Now it's clean and bright! I recommend their Steak Rice (with egg, pictured) and Tomato Soup (pictured). Unfortunately they didn't have any desserts and the Boulevardier I had was a little meh, but other than that it's a great place to start your Poblacion crawl.
Rating this just for the food. This spot is one of our go-tos for great comfort food in poblacion. The steak rice is amazing and Iād actually be willing to pay more than its price for it. The carbonara is great too. Itās so hard to find real, good carbonara here in Manila. I canāt attest to the āauthenticityā of Nokalās but it tastes just as good as the real thing. The longganisa mac and cheese is also a winner.
Just had a drink here, the Sex and the City, and it was quite nice. The orange came out pretty well, and gives the drink a nice refreshing element. The music is good, not too crazy, it's a pretty chill place. Would be interested to come back and try the food because there are some interesting items on the menu.
Chef really knows how to make the steak, the flavor of the rice was a bit overwhelming for the meal, service was great, they really attend to you.
We stumbled upon NoKal for the first time right around dinner time. We ordered their Steak Fried Rice and Cheeseburger.

Their serving for the steak is really generous! The steak was cooked perfectly tender and soft. The rice was amazing!
Cheeseburger (295 Php)
Their cheeseburger has no frills but had the perfect juiciness and flavor. Their serving is also generous with two patties.
What we ordered were bang for the buck! Will definitely be coming again to try the others in the menu. We used Zomato Goldās 1+1 here and I can say it was worth it!
Good no frills place when youāre craving burgers, fries late night in the middle of your Pob crawl. Burger reminds me of In n Out. Itās a steal when discounted but value is just right if youāre paying full I just wish their beer was a little cheaper but hey, thatās the crowd.
The night was still young yet our bellies were about to pop when we got to our last stop for our Poblacion food crawl. But when we heard "Longganisa Mac and Cheese" we all felt our appetite strutting back and ready for something mouthwatering. And knowing that the talented Raul Fores of Made Nice Supper Club is involved made me even more excited.
The steak rice and tapa bits are my recos. The longganisa mac tastes so good too but I think it's better for sharing cos the flavor can get too powerful.

This three-floor structure towers North of Kalayaan or Nokal. Each story has its own identity, targeting different customers. On the ground is an American Diner, on top of it is a Bar and the rooftop is your Al Fresco Beer Garden.
We spent most of our time in the restaurant, exploring their best selling items. Our small group then paired them with cocktails from the above establishments.
My top pick was tender Nokal Steak Rice (Php 295), made up of 100 grams of Angus Beef, seasoned fried rice and sunny side up egg. I can definitely down this after a strenuous workout.
Cheeseburger (Php 295) was a delight too, just take out most of its bread. The meat used here is a premium USDA beef.
The Hot Wings (6 pieces, Php 200/ 12 pieces, Php 390) were tasty and not oily which I appreciated. I just found too spicy!
Now the Longganisa Mac (Php 300) was more like longganisa pasta, as they used penne and it barely had any cheese in it. I suggest getting their Carbonara instead. Marco, one of the owners, mentioned that they made this in its original form. Yep, no cream just eggs.
I had the very thick and sinfully good Chocolate Milkshake (Php 220) while my companions had the following cocktails:
Kampai Highball - Php 300
Suntory Kakobin Whiskey, Soda, Optional Flavors.
Sex And The City - Php 300
Tequila, Blood Orange Syrup, Lemon, Pinch of Salt, Sour candy.

Their steak rice was so good!!! We initially thought that theyāll be wagyu cubes, you know, the ones that are like spongey beef tasting cubes. But no! Theyāre actual meat! And it tasted way better with a sunny side egg.
Their chicken wings were good too. A bit spicy for me, but still good! Came in our table fresh and hot!
We ordered the steak rice with add on egg and the other without an add on, 12pc chicken and brisket rice.
12pc chicken is ok, and its 10pesos more from the 6pcs so it makes more sense to go with 12pcs.
I liked the brisket over the steak rice but the meat was cooked well and the rice is tasty.
Overall pretty good food.
Good food and great ambiance. CR was not so good tho, smelled bad. The price point for each dish is very good and worth the buck! I will definitely be back when im in the area

A great place to eat and a great place to drink - a combination thatās rare nowadays. The steak rice bowl is delicious and their lobster mac is good too. Servers are super nice. Ambience is great. Lastly, their G&Ts are pretty dope! Will come back next week.
I ordered the Steak Rice! The egg was an add-on. The meat was tender enough. It came with a soy fried rice with corn kernels, similar to pepper rice (just without the pepper). The meal was really worth it with Zomato Gold! The staff was friendly. There was an arcade machine in the resto that they let us play with.
Very good and nice bartender... I had alot of drinks coz it doesnāt taste like alcohol at all... The photo is special concoction to me by the bartender and doesnt even have a name yet. I ordered whiskey sour!! The bombed also!! I think all drinks are really good, just let know of the bartender your kind of drink..
Ordered the NoKal Steak Rice and it was soooo gooood. Great place although could get crowded very quickly. Ambiance is very elegant and chic.
Used my zomato gold here. Impeccable service. All staff are friendly and accomodating. Best burger in town and cheese steak too! Defo try their lobster rolls and my favorite longganisa mac. Kudos to everyone š
Their cheeseburger is one of the best I've ever had. Their patties are the thin and crisp smash style. Each burger comes with two well seasoned and juicy patties that packs a deliciously beefy flavor. I also had the buffalo chicken wings and those are pretty spicy, not for those who cant handle the heat. Also very juicy and seasoned very well. Would definitely go back again and again just for those two dishes.

NoKal is a three-storey restopub that definitely has a great taste in style and music. The first floor is a good place to get a quick grub before busting your dancefloor moves on the second floor and getting drunk on the third floor. Need a liver break? Go back to the first floor to refill an empty stomach.
This is a great place where you could really hang out and bond with your friends because the placeās acoustics arenāt too loud, unlike the other bars in Poblacion that you need to shout just to speak with your friends. It gets packed on Fridays and Saturdays, so get in early to get a good spot. Tip: Itās easier to get a seat/table on the third floor.
The bartenders are approachable and friendly, especially the lady bartender (sorry, forgot her name) and seemed really educated and professional in making and mixing alcoholic beverages. Their table service team may mistakenly be seemed nosy, but I noticed that they are just carefully looking after their diners and guests to cater to our needs promptly and efficiently.
This is also one of the very few places in Poblacion that open until 4:00amāand sometimes even until the morning if the crowd is thick. So, if you still donāt wanna go home yet, get in and get to know the āLokals of NoKal.ā
