The Beef Rendang is the best! For appetizers, get their Pangsit Udang, it's these crispy shrimp wontons with a sweet and spicy sauce. Another hidden gem that not a lot of people know about is the bone in Chicken Rendang! Their Chicken Satay is amazing too, love the char on the chicken (tip: ask for extra peanut sauce! :P). For the noodle lovers, get the Mi Goreng Pecel, it's basically stir fried noodles with PEANUT SAUCE! Also try their Telur Balado, it's boiled eggs cooked in this really tasty, spicy sauce with a hint of sweetness. Lastly, to cool off from all that awesome spicy food, get their Pandan Cake, it's light, creamy and the perfect ending to an awesome meal! #BeefRendamn!
Delicious, authentic Indonesian food with lots of vegetarian options! Especially enjoyed the vegetarian sate, mi goreng, and pandan cake! Need to also commend the staff for the excellent service, and for being very well versed with the menu!

Beef rendang and mee goreng pecel was amazing! The Pandan cake is also a must -- perfect way to end the meal. Will definitely go back!
The best Indonesian food i've ever tasted, and reasonably priced as well!!!! Highly recommended!
Amazing food!! I’m a vegetarian and had an excellent spread. Loved the curry, rendang, murtabak and tofu satay.
Can’t wait to bring my friends back here!!
The best halal food is here !!
Garuda Philippines
:) :) :)
YUMMY food with amazing vegan/vegetarian options! 👌🏼
Perfect Indonesian taste! Beef Rendang, Sate Ayam, Martabak Telur, Ayam Goreng were simply spot on!
Love the vegetarian options!!! Spicy pancake was a hit for the vegan table this Saturday :)
I loved the Ayam Panggang! Both the Ayam Panggang and Mee Goreng are delicious. However, the experience would be better if servings would be larger.
I don’t give out a lot of 5s when I review. But this recent visit to Garuda deserves just that. Come by here for an authentic experience of Indonesian cuisine complemented by efficient service.
Generally, all items on the menu are spicy. You can, however, have them adjust it to mild except the staple dish in Beef Rendang. This tender meat in coconut milk and torrents of chili turned out to be a favorite, despite it turning my face red and making me sweat in every bite.
Another top pick in this visit is the sweet and crunchy servings of Cereal Prawns. I recommend pairing it up with the famous Gado Gado with its addicting, house-made peanut sauce.
For starters, the Chicken Satay was lovely and so was two kinds of Indonesian pancake in chicken and beef Martabak.
I was craving to have the Indonesian Halo Halo, but it was out. The Salted Caramel Cake turned out to be a valid replacement with its moist cake and defined salty notes.
Garuda has a free valet parking service too, which I really appreciate.
We loved everything and they offer valet parking.
I dont usually eat spicy food so it was too much for me. Even though the place was well ventilated, my face was sweating the whole time. Despite that, I loved how the spices all blended together. I was surprised how delicious everything was. We ordered beef rendang and nasi goreng specialty. According to the waiter, both dishes use the same kind of sauce (which means both level of spiciness). You can't adjust spice level though 😅
Aside from that, we also got to try their vegetarian fried pancake served with some coconut sauce dip. It was good. Less spicy than the other ones.
Just a note that the waiter/waitress looked bored and unenthusiastic to entertain us. It was lunch time so maybe they were still sleepy...
Overall, it's good and I would probably come back to try other dishes :)
I always love eating here. This is near my office and this satisfies my Indonesian food cravings. Food is good!
Zomato Gold made it SO WORTH IT. I love the food. I seriously loved the food.
Ordered the Beef Rendang and got the Nasi Goreng (Beef) for the ZGold +1. If you actually order an extra rice and just add it to the Nasi Goreng (and probably some sauce from the Rendang), it's like an automatic size upgrade for the meal haha! I'm not sure how else to describe it but man just see for yourself. It's so good - you can even add sambal to it for more kick!
Ambiance of the place was great. Place was well lit, clean, and elegant. No issues there.
Service was okay. First waiter was chill, second one refilled our glasses with water without having to be called. Funny how the third guy was sitting right in front of our table just playing some game with his phone though. I found it a bit off he was doing that in front of us but I can't blame him since the place wasn't that crowded anyway haha!
Place is a must try. No regrets giving it a 5/5, and I've been here thrice now!
Fast service. Overall good meal.

I saw this restaurant when I visited the Indonesian embassy a few weeks back. I decided to try it today. First thing that I loved is that they have a vegetarian menu. Basically, most of the main menu items have a vegetarian counterpart. I ordered the Vegetarian Nasi Goreng Jawa and the Vegetarian Sate. I have to go Bahasa with this, ENAK BANGET DIA! It's the most delicious Indonesian food I have tasted so far, and the servings are quite hefty. Price-wise, it's in the upper limits, but worth it. Also, the staff took the time to converse with me and tell me about the restaurant's origins. I told them that my Indonesian friend was surprised we had it here, and she told me I should get the rendang. I also told them I was going to Indonesia, and I'll tell them how Restoran Garuda will be there.I am yet to find out how Indonesian food really tastes like, so I guess this is patterned for Filipino tastes. I'll definitely go back after I try an original branch in Indonesia! Amazing food, sangat enak, perfect!
Do you like Indonesian food? Do you like Indonesian food that you can customize to adjust to our Filipino taste? Then you should try this place.
Place was spacious and with minimal decors but with lovely wall paintings.
Servers were very attentive and accommodating.
And to share with you the food that we ate, using my zomato gold 1+1 on food:
NASI GORENG JAWA 4/5
-Indonesian style fried rice with the perfect combination of tradional flavors.
-What I like with this dish is that you can adjust the spiciness of the dish or
AYAM GORENG GARUDA 4/5
(FREE from ZOMATO GOLD)
-Garuda's version of the classic half fried chicken topped with coconut flakes.
- Surprisingly it is my daughter's first time to try this and she actually liked it, and I also liked the coconut flakes.
ROTI BAKAR 4/5
-Jakarta's most popular roadside dessert. Composed of Nutella, Cheese and Butter in a sandwich that is crisp on the outside and gooey on the inside. Then smothered with mozarella cheese, condensed milk and chocolate sauce.

Good food! Good service and friendly staff
Kurt with fantastic service! The food was good and he recommended items to try. Definitely will go back to this spot in Makati. Mee Goreng is must try.
I first visited this place during its 1st week of opening. I ordered the meal for one person and even though the food tasted ok, I was not satisfied by its serving size and value for money. I few weeks ago, I and my colleagues ate here for lunch and we ordered the for sharing food from their menu. I was actually surprise because everything we ordered
was delicious. Their fried rice is awesome and I love their sizzling mushroom. I plan on visiting this place again again. One thing I noticed though, the staff who assisted was not too friendly. Her facial expression seem annoyed when we were asking about the food in their menu 😳
Very friendly staff and authentic Indonesian food! Order the Beef Rendang and Indonesian pancakes, really good! Will come back to try out other dishes!
This restaurant is amazing. The chicken sate, nasi goreng java, chicken rendang and pandan cake are exceptional. I regularly eat here with my family. The server, Miko is very nice and hardworking. Great customer service. Good value for money as well. Highly recommend this place.
People working there are very nice and sweet. Food is extra scrumptious. They have veg food too. 💞 The serving time is 15-20 minutes, the staff is attentive to your needs. Love it here.
As a fan of Indonesian cuisine, I can without a doubt say this stays true to its roots (being in front of the embassy, expect no less!) The Beef Biryani is to die for if you’re up for something spicy. To balance it out, order some sweet Gado-gado. Then of course the classic Mie Goreng and Nasi Goreng are not to be missed. Service is great and the ambiance is also pretty good. Parking may be the only problem, but there are many lots nearby.
Went through Garuda's reviews before trying the place, so I was mentally prepared for good food but appalling service. Maybe their wait staff has finally been replaced or at least re-trained because the service was impeccable! Waiters were very friendly and far more accommodating than the waitstaff in other restaurants with higher zomato ratings, haha.
Moving onto the food, my bf and I ordered:
- beef rendang
- beef murtabak
- fried rice with black pepper sauce
- ayam goreng (fried chicken with coconut shreds)
- kang kong
Everything except the ayam goreng was fantastic. The beef rendang was so flavorful and soft. The murtabak was just plain delicious. The fried rice was HUGE, and it speaks volumes that my bf and I weren't even able to finish half of it. The kangkong was tender and garlicky (so if you love garlic like me, you'll appreciate this dish haha).
The ayam goreng isn't your typical fried chicken. The skin isn't really crispy, but the coconut shreds give it an interesting texture. The meat is also a bit dry and obviously isn't as flavorful as the other dishes. It wasn't a bad dish at all, it's just that it really pales in comparison to how yummy the rest of our food was.
All of the meals were reasonably priced at around P300. Considering how huge the serving sizes were and the fact they have 1+1 on food, Restauran Garuda definitely gives you value for money. Will definitely be going back!
Service was good. Food was good. Location is also good. Comparing to the warungs in Indonesia, I think this place can fit right in. Great deal on Zomato Gold.
The Gold offering was good here, the food was good. Rendang was OK, but not great. Really liked the Nasi Goreng. We both liked the chicken sate. Only negative was: no beer.
Y’all don’t know how good Garuda is! My radio partners and I are huge stans and y’all need to try the vegetable rendang too! Ahhh and they’re Zomato gold partners sooooo this place is worth the trip for sure!
Go-to place in Legaspi Village! A quiet place for catch-ups.
Favorites : Nasi Goreng + Sate Ayam + Pandan Cake. They also have budget packet meals that are also good and filling!
Service may take around 15-20 mins.
Had an awesome experience at this restaurant.
Let me start with the food. We ordered:
Beef Rendang 5/5
- Meat was tender and the sauce was just deep and flavorful!
Chicken Martabak 5/5
- I have to admit that it didn't look so appetizing when it was set down on the table, but it was surprisingly very good.
Mee Goreng 5/5
- Very well balanced from the toppings to the seasoning.
Roti Bakar 3/5
- Was the only let down of the meal. We had high hopes for what we thought would be roti bread and Nutella. The bread was not really anything special, plain old white bread. We weren't a fan of the flavors either.
Their service really went beyond our expectations. Water was always refilled without asking. The servers were friendly and knew their stuff.
Was never a fan of Indonesian food because of others restaurants and stalls we've tried in the past. But Garuda has made me reconsider that. Great resto!
My favorite zomato gold partner so far! No need to go back to bali just to taste there very authentic beef rendang and nasi goreng, the servers are very friendly too perks to kuya aj going beyond my expectation of service. Im looking forward for my next visit
Fairly affordable, serving sizes were good, comfortable and classy vibe. If you're looking for good Southeast Asian cuisine, I recommend this place. Pleasant dining experience👌
Takes me back to my trips in Jakarta and Bali! Amazing food and authentic flavors (ordered Beef Rendang and Ayam Nasi Goreng). Staff were all friendly and attentive too. 👍
Been seeing this place for a while now, with me thinking that "hey, its in front of the Indonesian Embassy-- it must be good!"
Wow i was really in for a shocker! Or should i say, a spicer! Me and my friend ordered the special nasi with beef, the shrimp sambal, and the beef rendang. The nasi was amazingly cooked, with it being an ulam on its own.
The Shrimp Sambal though was the star for me-- enticingly spicy that makes you want to crave for more!
Will definitely go back to try the other dishes. 😉
Tastes authentic and good amounts of serving. Several seats inside hence can house a number of customers. Good service.
The Udang Lada Hitam (prawns) was nicely cooked with a good black pepper sauce. The Nasi Siram (sizzling fried rice) was so good, you can have it in itself!
We also ordered chicken sate and beef rendang (too spicy for me) but both tasted legit.
Loved the Mie Bakso by taste but the consistency of the Bakso needs some improvement as it was too coarse. The pangsit goreng was perfect. I’ll be back for Sate, Soto Ayam, more Bakso and of course Rendang :-)
We wanted to be more adventurous today so we decided to give Indonesian food a try. According to an Indonesian friend who lives in Manila, this is their go-to place for the close authentic taste.
Since it our first time trying out Indonesian food we opted for the basics - nasi goreng, beef rendang, vegetable martabak and chicken sate and es campur for dessert. The food did not disappoint. We loved the heat, the spices, and flavor of all the dishes. The average price of a menu ranges from p100 to p300+ and the quantity is reasonable for 3 to 4 people.
Indonesian food is not a place where Filipinos can eat often. But when you’re feeling adventurous and craving for a different flavor, Restoran Garuda is highly recommended.
Parking is at Sotto street and might be a problem during weekdays.
I've been here thrice and loved everything I have ordered so far: Nasi Siram, Tahu Goreng, Urap and Beef Rendang to name a few. Servers are nice too!
This is literally the first indonesian cuisine I have ever tried. And to my surprise, I actually enjoyed it.
My partner and I had Rendang Daging (beed sirloin). It's the specialty of the house. You could choose your meat between beef and chicken or even vegetarian. It is like caldereta minus the vegetables and plus spicyness and the coconut milkiness. This dish is a must-try if you are to drop by.
We aso had Ayam Goreng Garuda. Fried chicken with coco flakes. It has a flavorful spice to it, I tell you.
The best part of it all is it is actually affordable. I just wish they had the famous streetfood, jajan pasar, on the menu.
They have excellent service, nice ambiance and good food. Serving size is big enough for the price. Their Beef rendang is tender and flavorful.
Food is great and affordable. I think the resto needs more lighting and the floor needs deep cleaning. Its very sticky and slippery from all the oil already.
This joint serves reasonably priced, authentic Indonesian food. Located right across the Indonesian Embassy, it’s conveniently located at the heart of the business district, but is isolated enough from the mall crowd. Customer service is impeccable.

Cuisine 5/5
Ambience 4/5
Service 4/5
I have tried at least three Indonesian restaurant in Manila, the first one was Martabak restaurant at the Mall of Asia, Second one was Bakmi Nyonya at Eden Food Hall in BGC, and the thir one and I think is the best is this one. As I also had tasted the restaurant in Jakarta, I can say that the taste is the same with the one in Jakarta.
Basically, there are so many kinds of Indonesian cuisine. Garuda is a kind of cuisine from Sumatera Island in Indonesia. One of the best and we'll known as the most delicious food in the world is the Beef Rendang. I didn't try when I visited Garuda Manila. We ordered as follows:
1. Martabak Telor which was very delicious yet crispy. (5/5)
2. Fried Tofu which was also delicious but still Martabak is the best (4/5).
3. Bakwan Jagung (4/5).
4. Nasi Goreng, this is what the most Indonesian ordered when visiting Indonesian restaurant abroad (5/5)
5. Chicken Gulai, you can choose between boneless Chicken or half Chicken. This is also very mouthwatering. (5/5).
The restaurant is also put Halal logo in front of the restaurant so that the Moslem doesn't have to be worried.
Restoran Garuda is a restaurant I would definitely visit again. Everything we ordered tasted really good! The complex flavors came together very well. Our favorite was the Chicken Rendang and the Nasi Goreng.
Great place, even better food and excellent service.
Reasonably priced for rare to find authentic Indonesian food.
Rendang is their best seller and undoubtedly it’s good, but there are lots of other items that are equally good. Wasn’t a fan of their dessert but then main food more than makes up for that shortfall. I have become a regular to this place. MUST TRY if you are Indo food lover
Excellent food and service! Will keep coming back for more. Hope there would be more branches, so more people would get to try the best of Indonesian Cuisine.
Good food with nice Indonesian cuisine touch. The spices on the food was weird at first, but you'll get accustomed to it. We would definitely go again.
The good thing about their food is you can adjust the level of heat (spiciness). They have a good selection of viand for every dish so you can choose. We had beef mee goreng (a bit sweet), beef rendang (super spicy), chicken sate (their peanut spice has a bit of heat so loved it), shrimp in hambal sauce (the sauce is very good actually) and the awesome fried rice (heat can be adjusted). Dessert menu is quite limited and nothing really special about it. The place is also very nice - good ambience, well-lit and restrooms are ok too. Will definitely come back!
I've been exposed to halal food as i live in Mindanao and so i got excited when we visited Restoran Garuda as it gave me the feels of home away from home.

I enjoyed their food! Plus the free iced tea👍
Excellent customer service- Shoutout to Lyn!
I will surely introduce it to my friends. Chicken satay, nasi goreng and rendang taste good! In fact, it's my 4th time here :)
We love to come here for lunch while queuing for doctor’s clinic at Makati Med. It’s just 3 minutes walking distance.
My fave food is their RENDANG. The way they cook beef is really good and it’s so tender.
Will continue to go back for their rendang and satay, and explore the other dishes. And more, value for money it is!
Their version of halo halo is 👍🏻👍🏻
Been to Bali last year where we ate nasi goreng almost everyday. Finally found one that taste almost the same as those you find in Indonesia.
Service improved alot from the last time we visited.
Food is delicious and worth what you pay for. We had generous servings of nasi goreng beef and beef rendang. For dessert, we had the salted chocolate cake which is one of the best tasting cakes I've ever tried. Most importantly, service was topnotched. We will definitely come back to visit.
Indonesian restaurants aren't common in the philippines. I wish it was because we have a lot of similar dishes and flavors. Despite the similarities, indonesian food has a great amount of vibrance that makes it totally unique as well. Restoran Garuda is a good place to make that first step into indo malay cuisine.
The staff was very polite and accomodating. We were a large group and had multiple zomato gold accounts but they made the ordering and billing process hassle free.
The food was good. Their Nasi goreng, mee goreng and sate are flavorful and well seasoned. I just feel like it still lacks that oomph and wow factor that cuisine has to offer. Overall we really enjoyed our dining experience and would definitely come back to try the other dishes.
Perfect place for your spicy and Indonesian food cravings! Everything’s great- ambience, staff, food, and service. One of my favorite Zomato Gold partners! 👌🏿
My favorite go to place if I want food with a whole lot of spice. LOL
Commendable for their really attentive staff.
Menu favorites are Soto Ayam, Beef Rendang (Spicy), Nasi Goreng, Mee Goreng, and Sate.
But if you want "budget" friendly meals (considering it's in Makati) that are sort of complete, do the packets.
Only place that is open on Sundays that gives you variety to the usual food that you're used to eating. Prices aren't bad, in fact, they're very reasonable. If you're into spicy food, this place is a really good place to take yourself. LOL
I may have found a new favorite! First time to eat here and had beef rendang, nasi goreng jawa, and ayam panggang. Will definitely be back to try their other dishes.
Dined on a sunday, place wasnt packed and service was excellent. Our server AJ was helpful and the food was equally amazing. Ordered the goreng, satay, rendang and the shrimp sambal. All I can say is WOW!

Food here is very flavorful. Staff are very attentive and they are very nice and polite. The ambiance of the place they is very nice specially the paintings on the wall.
Sambal and rendang are very nice. Will definitely visit again. :)
My go to place for delicious, reasonably priced, and most authentic Indonesian food. Order their packet lunches which come with a choice of fried chicken, grilled fish, or beef rendang, and a choice of veggie sides plus iced tea. All for under Php 250.
Late review. Dined here last January and used my zomato plus privilege.
This must be the best beef rendang I've eaten here in the country. We also ordered nasi goreng, martabak, and es campur as well. Beef rendang tasted authentic and very flavorful with its spices. Serving was generous that its enough for two persons. It was also very tender that eating and tasting it is such a joy for me. Spiciness is also very authentic and it sure put me on fire :).
It was also the first time I've tried martabak and a I really liked it as well. The spice and meat complemented each other really well. Nasi goreng was also very good and can stand on its own as a meal. We ordered es campur to relieve us some of the spiciness.
The restaurant itself has a good and relaxing ambiance. The personnel are all very helpful, attentive to our needs, and are authentically dressed.
Amazing food variety and quality.... good service... ambience is alright... waiters were friendly... although food took long to come... but taste was good...
It’s nice to finally have a decent Indonesian restaurant out there - generous serving size and solid flavors so it’s definitely value for money. My husband and I ordered the Nasi Siram and it was like for 4-5 servings. We also ordered the Beef Rendang and it’s got that good spicy kick. Will definitely go back here for a weekday dinner. It’s venue is kinda straightforward, nothing fancy.
The food here really has authentic taste. Didn't expect it to be really good. We ordered a lot, beef Rendang, chicken Rendang, star, gado gado, Ayam goreng Garuda, Ayam gulainasi goreng. We are a group of 10 and all of the food taste really good. Too bad we weren't able to take photos at all because we're all excited to try the food. Reasonably priced, and nice interior. Should improve on service though, attentiveness and serving time of food can be improved. Definitely coming back here.
Food 4/5
I am speechless to how every dish is so full of flavors. My favorite would be the Nasi Goreng! It’s really good.
Service 5/5
The service has been remarkable. The people were approachable and we never had to ask twice of what we need.
Ambiance 3/5
Maybe change the playlist (?) The lighting and the vibe does not suit the playlist being played during our visit.
I enjoyed the food! It’s my first time to try Indonesian food. It feels like I was eating Sinngaporean food. We ordered Nasi Goreng Special (Beef), Nasi Goreng Jawa (Chicken) and Nasi Goreng Packet. Nasi Goreng Special was good. My food was the Nasi Goreng Jawa. I chose the medium for the spicy level, but surprisingly it was too spicy. It was also good! For the dessert, we tried the pandan cake. I also used my Zomato Gold. The ambience and interior looks great!
Wowww,,, this is my second time here actually but this time I brought a friend and let her try indo cuisine, she was amazed about the food and the warm service. Thank you Garuda :) I will definitely invite more of my pals.
been here 3 times already and still my favorite Indonesian resto in manila, Food is always very good. service to never changes and still very good. waiters are accommodating and well mannered. Mico was always my favorite server. And RENDANGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG is always my favorite dish!
Pretty good Indonesian restaurant in the metro! Highly recommend Beef Rendang! The chicken was a bit dry but tasty.
Overall good value for money. Will come back
This was the first time I tried eating Indonesian cuisine and it did not disappoint. The beef is relatively sweeter. Good place to have lunch.
Authentic indonesian food indeed. Their martabak is amazing, the chicken sate is so juicy and tender, the beef rendang is very tender and has the perfect level of spiciness and not to mention very good service!
Restoran Garuda is big in Indonesia. It has presence in Singapore as well. Thanks to the brothers Budhrani who felt, after visiting family in Indonesia, that the Philippines is ready to accept authentic Indonesian food other than the normal Thai, Japanese or Chinese food representation here in the country. They even brought in Indonesian chefs to stress authenticity.
I do not know what level of planning or connections they had but the restaurant is located in front of the Indonesian embassy on Salcedo St. The reason I ate here was because I wanted to explore the breadth and depth of my zomato gold while expanding my food knowledge and appreciation. At the same time, the end goal was to find the most "sulit combination meal" for two price-wise while satisfying taste and satisfaction parameters.
It was great that we ate here Sunday, we could park right in front of the restaurant (allowed only on weekends). Upon entering, we were greeted by our server AJ, who is quite knowledgeable about what they have to offer. He explained the characteristics of the dishes we were interested in and made suggestions of his own based on what he perceived were our taste leanings. It worked out well. We got the famous Beef Rendang and got the Nasi Goreng Special (Ayam or chicken) for free. We had the Stir Fried Kangkung for veggies and Es Campur for dessert. The bill totalled P800 flat instead of somewhere north of P1,100 for a satisfying meal for two.
The Beef Rendang brought me back to Bali where I first had a taste of this spicy, curried beef dish. What is great is that Restoran Garuda provides two sambals for you to tailor your food to your desired taste. There was the Sambal Merah or Red Sambal which is composed mainly of red chilis, therefore more spicy of the two. Then, the Sambal Hijau or Green Sambal which had green chilis and green tomatoes as main ingredients, thereby more tangy than spicy. These could go with any of the meats, veggies or rice. It was fun putting just red or green or both because it changes the flavor profile and makes your meal more exciting, not boring. The Nasi Goreng Special was a meal in itself as it was chockful of chicken bits, had fried egg, some veggies and krupuk (kropek) on the side. The taste and quality of the dish was top notch. To complement, we added the kangkong for a healthier combination.
We really appreciated the Es Campur, which is the Indonesian version of halo-halo because it was a sweet, welcome relief after our spice journey. It had gelatin, some form of kaong and sago, fruit cocktail (pineapple, cherries, processed papaya, etc), fresh coconut strands and fresh jackfruit slices. To me, it was a less rich buko salad since instead of heavy cream and condensed milk, you had iced milk with a unique taste and the ingredients that would remind of buko salad. It was delicious and a great way to end a satisfying day.
Just a little concern that they have different policy with Zomato Gold, but aside from that, love their food, quite different from what I usually have. I recommend their CHICKEN RENDANG. MEAT IS SOOOOFT and the sauce is gooooood. The ambiance is good too, simple and clean interiors, they have ample seats, but we chose a seat near the wall mural because I personally love wall art. Service was excellent, they were very attentive to our concerns too.
Today, instead of booking a flight to Indonesia,we opted to book a table at Restoran Garuda. The menu brings in the classic Indonesian food. I think we actually sat near the manager who was welcoming and great as the servers when it came to makin sure our night is perfect. If you want something new in somewhere chill, you go here.
Authentic Indonesian food. The mere fact that its right across the Indonesian embassy and you have Indonesian expats eating means, its legit. Prepare for spicy, flavorful food.
Garuda Restaurant is the branch from Indonesia.
The best indonesian restaurant in Manila (quite rare to find authentic indonesian restaurant in Manila area).
Located in front of Indonesia Embassy.
Our favorite dishes is Beef rendang (spicy alert!) chicken satay & grilled chicken. For the price is worth it because is super delicious, and they used real indonesian ingredients.
Most of the my foreigner friends want to come back again to this place because of their good taste.
The service really satisfied and the ambiance also nice.
It's my second time here along with my second family. I like this resto just because it offers Indonesian food which is different cuisine that you don't see a lot. Usually puro Thai or Vietnamese. Anyway, I ordered a Nasi Goreng Jawa (Chicken) and their Indonesian Iced Tea.
Like the Nasi Goreng! I love that the food is for sharing. I kinda regret that I ordered it for myself because I was struggling to finish it but it's all good. It just means that the food serving is good. Okay, I'm gonna rave this so much: I LOVEEEE the Indonesian iced tea. I love jasmine tea so much so it was such a delight to have that extra flavor in their tea. Ughhhh. I want a one year supply of the Indonesian iced tea. It's so good!

Either someone was being conceptual and strategic or the owner is an Indonesian as this restaurant sits across the Indonesian Embassy. Not sure if authentic, but I did enjoy my beef rendang and the potato fritters. Also loved the comfy seats and the overall quietness of the place (dined on a Sunday so not sure if it's the same on weekdays). The staff were accommodating too; one even lent me a kitchen knife so I could fix the broken zipper of my bag. :)
Looking for a place to eat? Come and dine at Garuda! They are serving authentic Indonesian food which ingredients are being imported straight from Indonesia, cooked and prepared by their well trained chefs. And it's not only the food that I like in this place, their staffs are super friendly too that you would want to dine again and try other varieties from their menu. Worth every cents. Excellent customer service.
Ordered their packet lunch of with chicken sate; excellently prepared and presented, vegetables crisp and fresh, krupuk very crispy and the sate had the correct proportion of the sweet peanut sauce. I requested it to very be spicy, and the affable staff served me more of the sauce! Even though it was lunchtime, place had enough seats and was very spacious and clean. Nice to know they have vegetarian rendang--will want to try it (and take home, complete with extra spicy sauce) next time. Great value for money, friendly, helpful staff and THE place for that true authentic experience for Indonesian food. Terimah kasih, Restoran Garuda :-)
Garuda is a relatively new Indonesian Restaurant in Makati. With its minimalistic interiors and murals, the resto provides an ambiance suitable to the millenials and artsies alike. The food is no doubt authentic and quite good (but not extremely good) in my opinion. We ordered their Beef Rendang, Chicken Sate and Nasi Goreng by the way. The problem, I think, is that their pricing is a bit high compared to that of the other famous Indo Restaurant in Makati. Their service was good too.
I like the restos modern indo vibe. I lespecially like their mee goreng, their indonesian iced tea, and most of their menu actually. You can choose which the level of spiciness in almost all of the dishes. Place is always packed with indonesian given that its is near their embassy. Would like to bring bae here soon since we are both a fan of indonesian dishes.
Been here yesterday with my hubby to try another Indonesian restaurant. It is my first time to have a review in zomato.

It is lunch time when we try the restaurant. They are full and the restaurant was busy. I saw the servers was to busy but when we about to approach the door, the manager with brown flower polo, LOL,,, quickly open the doors for us and endorsed us to one available table. The manager give us the menu and ask us for a drink. I said its fine we will browse your menu first. Me and my hubby decided to try their lunch promo 199 packet. my husband try the Ayam bakar and bakwan sayur which was personally recommended by the manager. i forgot his name. LOL. I ordered Beef rendang and perkadel jagung. The food took around 20 minutes to be serve. It is understandable cause they are busy that time. All i can say is that it is superb and the meal it self is very satisfying. Kudos to the manager who assist us to make a wonderful experience on this resto. We cant wait to try another dishes again some time. *****
