Alchemy Bistro has become the hot spot/ place to be in Makati for Latin dancing on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, beginning around 2130 usually. I have always been intrigued to dance Latin and when I stumbled upon this quaint, eclectic, and cozy place, I decided I had to learn. If you do not know how to dance Latin, like myself, Alchemy has male and female Dance Instructors who are very patient and professional. If you are like me dancing, I dance on the top of a woman’s feet so they have to be patient. Also, it is good to tip the instructors and get to know them. They can be hired if you need more instruction, like me. The dances that I have been able to learn are Kizomba, Salsa, Cha Cha and now working on Tango.
I have tried almost everything on the menu, even things I thought I would have never eaten in a million years, but I was easily convinced by Chef Tina to have a try. Her and her staff’s attention to detail are impeccable. The quality of ingredients and food used are top notch. My favorites are the Lamb Shank, Organic Chicken, Oven Fired Pizzas, Spinach Dip and so many more of Alchemy’s delectable foods. Everything is at a great price point and the quality of food that is prepared at Alchemy cannot be found anywhere else. My Opinion only ☺
If you are into micro brews there is an outstanding selection on hand for what ever your taste buds may desire. One my favorites is Exit Wounds IPA, Pedro and Gordon Biersch Hefe Wieizen.
Alchemy has an outstanding selection of wines to complement your meals or to quench your thirst. I have enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc Fat Bastard and Jules Taylor, which are hard to find in other restaurants.
Get off of the sofa and come out and enjoy the ambiance and dancing at Alchemy!
I flew in to Manila after staying a year in Hong Kong and Singapore, and was looking for a decent place to dance and have a drink or two to chill, i was overwhelmed to have across a place like Alchemy. Fleet of beautiful dancers across kizomba, salsa, bachata, cha cha ans tango crowd this place on select days of the week (my favourite days are Sundays and Mondays) and fills this place with magic. The service crew soon became like friends there, and the owner is so humble you would not find out she is one for very long time. Interestingly located amidst the naughty streets of Burgos, a must go in my list.
This bar is one of the most elegant and peaceful bars not just in Makati but also in the whole Philippines. They have tasty food that will surely make you come back not just once. Their staff are really friendly and offers an impressive customer service. Every cent you spend on their food and drinks will be filled into value. Alchemy Bistro Bar is a "Must Try" bar. Worth it!!
We had a private party at Alchemy and hiring this eclectic venue was definitely the way to go. The professional and helpful attitude from the owners and staff made the night very special. Sound system, food and bar service were all top notch. Bravo Tina, Gordon and team!
Kudos to the staff of this bar really enjoyed the place food andghe band such a nice place

Food is to die for! The Ambiance, Live Entertainment, and the non-stop Dancing is what keeps me coming back to Alchemy.
I go here whenever im in makati, food is superb with a wide selection at reasonable prices, often there is live entertainment downstairs and a great deck area above which also has quality djs on a regular basis, a must go venue when around makati ave.
A good place specially on Ska and Soul nights. Wicked DJs and bands! Food is great!
The place has Good food, good music, good people!
Nice food and great music 🕺💃.
I guess I found my niche now.
Great place for bar hopping in Makati. Alchemy has both vintage and modern touch that's "Instagrammable". It's cozy and perfect with friends!!
They also have wide selection of food and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) so you don't have to worry 'bout visiting in the afternoon.
Ordered the lamb shank and chef’s burger.
The lamb shank is very nice, juicy and tender. Only a very small hint of gamey taste and very nice aroma of delicious meat 😍. 8.5/10
Chef’s burger is harder to grade. I prefer my burger medium well done, but they didn’t ask for my preference and gave me a medium to maybe medium rare burger. So it differs from the usual burger that I ate and I cannot judge it accurately 😅. The home made fries that accompany it is very nicely done, crispy without being burnt, 9/10 for the fried
we enjoy going as a group in Alchemy because they have board games there.
Always passed by this place when my friends and I would go barhopping in Poblacion, although always skipped it until last Monday. Surprisingly good vibe, drinks were quick to come; too bad there was no water supply in the restroom but that’s really not their fault I guess.
Had our dinner here on a Thursday night, and it has a very chill vibe and vintage-y. Kinda like you're in a mansion with a lot of witches with spell books and potions roaming upstairs like in the movies/series!
Tried their Pesto Pasta and Signature Alchemy Pizza. Their pizza was so good, never tasted quite like it! Especially since it has speck as protein (a meat similar to proscuitto) and it's very gummy, and topped with arugula with a bit of barbeque sauce (or I don't know if it's from the scamorza cheese). Ugh! Definitely a must-try. Meanwhile, their pasta has enough amount of olive oil and nuts, very light taste and a perfect pair to our pizza.
For the refreshments, we tried the Mango, Orange, and Pineapple juices. And also one test tube shot. Their glasses are also cute, it kinda gives an illusion that it's slanted, but it's not.
Hoping to drop by here on a Tuesday for their BOGO pizza!

My favorite place to be when I want my bottomless beer or cocktail fix!!!! Their prices are really fit for what they offer. The place is really spacious and the waiters are really hands on. Definitely would come back more often for their promos.
They have a lot of drinks to choose from. Try the 12 tube shots, it has a kick in it and it’s only 300 something. Drinks are served in lab equipments which is cute. They also gave us free shots when we went there but it was only for a few minutes

Love the place. Went there to avail of the 279 drink all you can. We were at the 2nd floor and drank beer al fresco. What I loved were the ceiling fans. 2nd were the couches with the throw pillows. Ohhh so comfy. It's like you're drinking in the comfort of your own home. With the food. I especially loved the Calamari. So tasty and flavorful. But the spicy chicken wings were too sweet for my taste. Plus. It looked like it's drowning in sauce. Loved the nachos and their salad as well.
This place serves good freshly made brick oven pizza.
It has a dark, colorful and artsy feel to it.
It also has a roof deck al fresco area but not much of a view.
It caters more of the foreign crowd so expect to see expats when dining or drinking here.
The pricing is also meant for them... there are more budget-friendly places in poblacion but this is one of the most posh yet chill options there.
I came here for dinner with my parents as they've never really been around the Poblacion area. We ordered calamari and hummus for our appetisers. For mains we ordered steak frites x2 and the fish of the day with ratatouille. The hummus was amazing. One of the best hummus I've tried. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the ratatouille also tasted great. I honestly didn't expect the food to be this good, but was pleasantly surprised. Would recommend people to dine here.
I must say I never thought I’d be ordering dessert at a bar. But this was hella good. The wait was a bit long around 30 mins but damn was it worth it. The cake was moist and hot while the chocolate center was gooey and rich. It was complimented by a scoop of vanilla ice cream which didn’t overpower the dessert or make it too sweet. It was a perfect harmony of hot and cold as well as sweet and rich. Well-balanced and good for sharing.. or not. Big eaters like me would find this truly satisfying. Kudos Alchemy! Definitely coming back for more. 👍🏻
Me and my friends had a birthday celebration in Alchemy and decided to taste the pizza. Brick oven pizza is so good and also the cocktails! It is definitely worth it! :)
Loved the food and ambiance. For starters, I would recommend the Pate or their baked oysters. For Main I would indulge the Lamb shank again and again. Plus to cap your evening, try out their cheesecake. It wont disappoint. Cap the night with several bottles of wine and enjoy the Alchemy Experience!
This is an interesting place given its many personalities. Tina the chef really cares about their foid and when they are on their mark its delicious. She made gnocchi tharhas the texture of marshmellows and the taste is superb. Also for late night great pizza and bands.
Its eckectic and the service can be slow but itop value for your money.

Hubby and I attended a Saturday afternoon event here which extended to late night drinks with his friends and officemates. The place has an open-air veranda upstairs conducive to drinks and chats. Alchemy is the ancient practice of mixing elixirs and potions to either come up with gold or the key to eternal life. Here, the elixirs are mixed for the patrons to have a good time. It has an extensive liquor list which include local and imported beers, wines from France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Chile and Argentina, as well as other potions such as vodkas, rums, whiskies, liquers, etc. Also mixed in are lively music from the DJ upstairs or the live band downstairs.

Went here last Fete de la Musique and we just ordered alcoholic drinks. The people are all dancing and smiling. Such good vibes.
Plus they have outside tables for smokers!
💕Date for Two: Draft Beer – Pale Pilsen
💌Total: P200
Overall: For two big glasses of draft beer and not crowded place on a friday night, this bar is for you. Just please do not stay here until late night, unless you want to experience their Salsa night! Haha! It’s so awkward watching lots of Titas of Manila (literally) dance beside you. Lol.
Value for money: Worth it!

Great concept of the restaurant. The food was delicious and looks presentable and great service. I am glad when they allowed us to interview them for our academic purposes, they’re really nice. I would love to dine here again.
We went there on a Friday night, it has a chill "band" vibe. The Bloomfield's were playing when we were there.
We ordered a pitcher of margarita and we thought it's strong but good at the same time. We munched on some Spanakopita. It was good the saltiness of it compliments the dip they included with our dish. I think it was a Greek yogurt dip... I'm not that sure. Together with that we ordered fried calamari, simple but still good :)
They also serve local beers... not your typical "Pale Pilsen" nor "Red Horse"... we were not able to try it though, maybe some other time.
I really love the place 😍 delicious food (Grilled Salmon Skewer), and good service. Perfect 💯 Thank you so much Alchemy Bistro Bar! New experienced and memories again.
Ambience – 4/5
Service – 4/5
Location – 3/5
It is located in the Red Light district of Makati.
Food Recommendation:
Baked Oysters (PhP 350.00) – 4.5/5
Baked to perfection, these mouth-watering fresh oysters are topped with hollandaise sauce and gruyere cheese. And it absolutely left me asking for seconds.
Artichoke Spinach Dip (PhP 295.00) – 4.5/5
I’m very picky about my dips. However, it was like love at first taste when I had Alchemy’s Artichoke Spinach Dip. I was able to taste a light artichoke flavor but the spinach was more prominent. I could see myself having this for brunch, everyday!
Lamb Steak (PhP 820.00) – 4/5
Very tender, falls off the bone, lamb shank.
Passion fruit Cheesecake – 4/5
The sweetness and sourness of the passionfruit is a perfect complement to the saltiness and creaminess of the cheesecake. Just ask the staff if this seasonal dessert is available.
Other food that we tried:
Alchemy Pizza (PhP 530.00) – 3.5/5
Roaster Organic Chicken (PhP 450.00) – 3.5/5
Broiled Pork Chop (PhP 560.00) – 3/5
Tuna Tartare (PhP 455.00) – 3/5
Additional Note:
They also have a wide array of cocktails and local crafted beer in their bar.
Alchemy Bistro Bar is a two-level restaurant, serving moderately priced quality meals in a modest setting. You can notice that there's a lot of staff inside but it gives a unique ambiance. You can see different chemistry stuff used for alcoholic drinks.
They have the best Lamb Shank (P820) in town. It is not dry and it has a soft texture that you'll think it's not a lamb.
They also serve Broiled Porkchop (P560) and Roaster Organic Chicken (P450). These two are served with their own sauces/dips. The sauce really compliment the dish and it was served with its juiciness and tenderness.
Baked Oysters P350
Alchemy Pizza P530
Tuna Tartare P455
Spinach Artichoke Dip P295
I enjoyed everything and I salute Chef Tina for making amazing dishes. She already worked in other countries and know almost everything about what she's doing. I will definitely go back and will try their draft beers.

Alchemy means magical process of transformation, creation, or combination; popularly known as "chemistry". You can notice that once you've entered. You can see stuff used in a chemistry lab like test tubes.. The ambiance were okay, you can see a lot of different stuff like a maniquine, bike, toy billiards and more.
Spinach Artichoke Dip (P295) is a go-to appetizer, their Spinach Artichoke Dip has all the creamy-inside and cheesy taste that makes the dip like this appealing but with less calories and fat.
Lamb Shank (P820) are slow cooked with fresh rosemary, garlic and red wine. I love how they serve their lamb shank and the soft texture of the lamb. I really don't eat lamb but their lamb shank changes it.
Broiled Porkchop (P560) and Roasted Organic Chicken (P450) are served with its own sauces. It keeps its juiciness and tenderness and the sauce really compliment the dish.
Baked Oysters P350
Alchemy Pizza P530
Tuna Tartare P455
My over all experience was okay. I love the creativity of the interior. The food was great I really admire Chef Tina for creating such quality food that will never disappoint you.
Alchemy Bistro Bar gives off a luxe, cosmopolitan vibe mixed with a zany and eclectic, scientific edge. The puple color.scheme and their furnitures have thay “night out” appeal that reminds me of bars and clubs at BGC. While the colorful bar almost reminded me of breaking bad thanks to the use of beakers and test tubes with colorful liquid. We were also treated to a venerable feast of their best seller and signature dishes.
Starters:
There was plenty to choose from from their Starters. I really like the two dishes which were served included their Baked Oysters which were fresh and tender, topped with gruyere cheese and the hollandaise sauce which melted into a nice savory cream which amplified the umami taste of the oysters. Their artichoke dip was beyond fantastic, the creamy, tart, and herb-ey flavors were sinfully delectable that i could pretty much eat that all day. They also served tuna tartare with a vibrant salad which was good as well thanks to the great mix of bright veggies and beautifully seasoned and fresh tuna.
Alchemy Pizza: Their signature Pizza is topped with Speck, Arugula, Truffle Oil,Scamorza Cheese, a Balsamic reduction and cooked in a wood fired oven and seemed quite fancy. Fancy things often taste overwhelming yet the this pizza was a showcase of how to balance the distinct nuances of sophisticated ingredients into one cohesive dish. The robust flavors of the sliced speck and the peppery arugula was particularly interesting and delicious.
Entrees:
They really turned up the extravagance with the next three dishes which were Braised Lamb, Broiled Pork Chops, and Roasted Chicken which all seemed particularly lavish and looked like the came straight out of a luxe french bistro.
I particularly liked their Roaster Organic Chicken served with green beans, sauteed mushroom, and rice pilaf. The herb infused chicken and the mushrooms were marvelously rich and savory. Eat it with their rice and the jus and it's game over!
The lamb shank on the other hand, looked scrumptious on the plate as it was golden brown, lightly charred and had vibrant vegetables on the side. This one even tastes better than it looked as it was cooked for more than 3 days through a sous vide machine so the meat easily fell apart in the mouth. The serving size and its flavor was definitely worth the price and the title of Best Seller.
Although i wasn’t as impressed with their Broiled Pork Chops as i was with the other two. I really liked the intricate dance of flavors brought by the beautiful sauce beneath. I would’ve liked it if it was a little more tender but the sweet and savory sauce easily made up for it.
Dessert:
For dessert they brought out a huge rectangular chunk of their Mango Passion Fruit Cake. The caka was tangy, creamy, and had a crunchy graham crust while the Passion Fruit sauce was decadently sweet and a very tropical tart.
Overall, the Food at Alchemy Bistro Bar was luxurious and decadent and felt like true great Bistro fare. The mastery of great ingredients and the finesse in the preparation successfully showcased the skill of the people in kitchen. All of these factors are perfect for the continental tastes of the posh regulars and international clientele at Poblacion Ave. Their space was also eclectic as well as their drinks which were served in Scientific Instruments which make for interesting instagram posts. The service was fantastic, the prices are not outrageously expensive, and they’re open even after midnight. So if you want a sexy dinner or a sossy lunch then make sure to give Alchemy Bistro Bar a visit!
Alchemy Bistro Bar is a place where foods and potions combined. Serving magical dishes that can pair with their alcohol or non-alcohol drinks. Situated in Poblacion, Makati we were served some of their bestsellers and magic potions.

I’ve heard of Alchemy before where the drinks are fondly called concoctions. And since we cancelled our La Union trip for the long weekend, I decided to accept Alchemy's lunch invitation (yes, they are also open for lunch!) and know more about the bar which offers more than just great drinks.
Hello, Alchemy Bistro Bar!
We were greeted by shades of purple and nicely decorated walls with flasks containing colorful liquids and a bicycle. I’m not exactly sure what look they were trying to pull here but it was quirky and cute.
We went here last week. It was the Holy Week so there are no other customers. We had the whole place to ourselves. The place is charming and their staff is very polite. I ordered baked oysters and I was not disappointed at all. We had some of their homemade ice cream (that I mixed with beer) for dessert.
Wide variety of food options - which I really enjoyed, especially the bolognese and margheritta pizza !!! , lovely and efficient staff, cool ambiance & loving the dance nights at alchemy!!!! 10/10 would recommend for either a simple meal during the day/in the evening or to have drinks with friends!!!

Hello, Alchemy Bistro Bar!
We were greeted by shades of purple and nicely decorated walls with flasks containing colorful liquids and a bicycle. I’m not exactly sure what look they were trying to pull here but it was quirky and cute.
The restaurant’s owner, Tina Currie (who studied in Le Cordon Bleu and worked in the US and Thailand), welcomed us and gave us an overview of what’s lined up for lunch—Baked Oysters (PHP350), Croquettas (PHP260), Buratta Cheese Salad (price not on the menu), Alchemy Pizza (PHP450), Gnocchi (PHP390), Pan Seared Salmon (PHP465), Roasted Organic Chicken (PHP450), Slow-braised Lamb Shank (PHP775), Crème Brulee (PHP210) and Cheesecake with passion fruit coulis. We also had Alchemy Smoothie and Four Fruit Smoothie (PHP180 each).
First served was the baked oysters and R and I were impressed with the Aklan sourced shells. It was very fresh and it was so delightful with the spinach, hollandaise sauce and gruyere cheese. [Note: Be careful though and check your oyster. R ate his fast and didn’t notice a little shell piece was on the oyster and it hurt his tooth.]
Next served was the Buratta Cheese Salad and it was delicious. The giant red tomato slices made the tomato lover in me jump for joy! The prosciutto ham added flavor and the mozzarella on the outside and cream cheese in the inside combo made me go crazy! I also love the play of textures of the ingredients.
The croquettas were piping hot when it was served and I just found out when I took a big bite. I love the smooth potato with cheese stuffing. It was a great contrast with the crunchy breading. And the paprika dip wasn’t bad at all.
But if I were to choose between croquettas and gnocchi, I would choose the latter. Made with Gorgonzola cheese sauce, it was a cheesy affair with my taste buds. I love the crispy pancetta too for added bite. To fight off the “umay” factor, I munched on the herb garlic bread. This dish is a bit heavy on the tummy though so it’s best to share it with a fellow cheese lover.
R and I were slowly getting full when the Alchemy pizza arrived and it was pretty big. The wood fired pizza was amazing too. The speck ham, which was slightly different from prosciutto, added flavor to the pizza. I also enjoyed the slight tanginess from the Balsamic sauce drizzled on the arugula. And yes, the arugula made us feel that we were eating something healthy.
Finally, the mains were served.
The pan seared salmon sure was bang for the buck. The salmon slab was huge and it was cooked well. Crunchy salmon skin yet the meat remained juicy. I went to salmon heaven! I also enjoyed the creamy mashed potato with dill beurre sauce.
Alchemy’s bestseller lamb shank was served right after and it was huge too for PHP775. The lamb was tender and it should be since it was cooked for 42 hours! Even without the gravy, it was already tasty. No wonder it’s a crowd favorite.
The roasted chicken was cooked with rosemary making it fragrant and savory. But what caught my attention was the delicious sautéed mushrooms. I loved it so much!
And after what seemed to be an endless lunch, we finally reached desserts.
The cheesecake with passion fruit coulis was something new for us. I loved the soft and dense cheesecake but the coulis’ flavor was a bit too much. We had a bit of a hard time finishing this one.
But the crème brulee was a winner! The soft custard topped with a THICK layer of torched sugar was the perfect way to end the meal.
Overall, it was an amazing lunch and definitely a memorable one. R was so happy with it that he immediately shared it with his family and they were all curious about it. He also recommended it to his close friends and they went to the place that same night. What can I say? Alchemy has a new brand ambassador.
Another decent place in the Poblacion area to grab a drink and eat some tasty, well-prepared food that is not your usual 'chicken wings' and 'sisig'. Once inside, I completely fell in love with the charming decor.
Alchemy Bistro, or simly, Alchemy, has a variable, seasonal list of craft cocktails made by a super friendly team of bartenders. As a result, the drinks are complex, potent to the sip, and almost too easy to drink. Thankfully, the selection is such that one always has options for different palates.
In addition to the cocktails, there is a decent selection of beer, wine, and food choices. I've had some awesome appetizers here; The Artichoke Spinach Dip and Baked Oysters were my favourites.
We also tried some of their main dishes. I had the Roasted Organic Chicken which was delicious but I wished it wasn't overcooked. The skin was nicely roasted, golden-brown, but it was real dry on the inside. The Mussel Frites (Mariniere) was lovely and I appreciate that each bite has subtle hints of Tarragon, garlic, and chili in it. The fries were the large and crispy kind--which I liked--but I thought it was bland or unseasoned.
Another personal favourite and probably the best tasting dish that night was the Beef Bourguignon. If I could eat Alchemy's Beef Bourguignon every day, I would do so without any regrets. IT WAS DELICIOUS. Extremely flavorful, the meat was very tender, and I just want it in my belly right now.
While Alchemy is advertised as a bar, they have a nice selection of European and Italian food as well. So, if you're not in the mood for drinks, don't fret because the food here is just as enjoyable as the drinks/cocktails they offer. Overall, Alchemy is a solid choice for a great drinks and a low-key weeknight out. Recommended for dates too.
P.S Don't leave Alchemy without trying the Beef Bourguignon, Artichoke and Spinach Dip, Quattro Formaggi Pizza, and the Slow-braised Lamb Shank.
Alchemy Bistro Bar is the best place to hang out with friends. With its great food and cozy place you'll definitely enjoy your stay here. Thumbs up for Alchemy!
The place is great. you will definitely feel comfortable while staying here. the staffs are great, you can get along with them well. and the food? well, who can even say a word when you taste delicious food.
After a long wait for the result of our Real Estate Broker's Board Exam, finally PRC officially released the result and I made it! Together with my fellow classmates and organizer in the review center, we celebrated our victory party here in Alchemy Bistro Bar.
Summer has started and it's really hot so I ordered their Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream. It's smooth, creamy, downright delectable and most of all not too sweet!
This place really a good place to hang out with friends after a long day!
The First floor is cozy and elegent, if you like listening to classic music their acoustic night is perfect for a date. You can also hang out with some of the people there who dance salsa, batchata, and kizomba every Wednesday and Sunday, they called it Afro Latino night. The Chef / owner is really nice she greets people she's friendly, its really welcoming and the ambiance is really good.
While on their 2nd floor is the good place where you can hang out with your friends, wanna relax and chill , you can watch football games, drink and listen the the cool music from their DJ.
The foods are awesome, fresh ingredients of pizza and pasta, their chips and cheese are good as well as their curry spicy and yummy.
The moment i entered at this place. I was amazed, The place is cozy and elegant. The bar area is awesome. There's a Brick oven outside the restaurant, they are using it for the pizza and other baked dishes. Okay here is my review now.
Food 3.25/5 - Alchemy Bistro and Bar Serves European Cuisine. they have Pasta,Pizza,Rice Meals,Burgers and many more . Another foodie meetup, So this review is sponsored but this does not affects my review/reaction. Pizza's are good specially the crust. Must order is their Pizza Alchemy, this pizza consist of Speck, Arugula, Scamorza Cheese,Balsamic Reduction and the expensive truffle oil. This Pizza is not too thick and not too thin. The texture complements with the toppings. Next is the burger, This dish is quite dry and the wasabi overpowers the taste of the burger. Baked Oysters are good and tasty. The knochi is also good this is a must order. The lambshank was awesome For me this is the best thing they served that night. The roasted Organic Chicken was dry. I didn't liked that dish. The Beef madera wine stew tasted like caldereta, nothing special. And also the Asian pork belly that tastes like adobo with mashed potatoes.
Ambiance: 4/5 - Ambiance is good. The statues are cool something like medieval or anti Christ. My comments are the ceilling fans near the bar area is quite off. Its too plain, I suggest to put some artificial candles on the statues to make it noticable. The toilet was too small considering that you have a two story resto.
Service: 3.5/5 - Fair.
Dishes that are served on this review are all complimentary. But this review will be based on my opinion/experience. Thank You Zomato Ph and Alchemy Bistro and Bar.
Alchemy Bistro Bar is a casual dining restaurant in Poblacion that serves European inspired dishes. We were able to try a number of items from their menu and some truly stood out.
First off, the appetizers were splendid. The Artichoke Spinach Dip (Php 295), served with Pita Triangles, was the perfect way to start the evening. The dip was full of flavor, and had a bit of heat coming from a dash of paprika. I couldn't eat enough of it.
The Baked Oysters (Php 350) was also pretty yummy. I liked the combination of the gruyere and hollandaise, although it seemed a bit more creamy than buttery.
The Alchemy Pizza (Php 450) is a wood fired pizza topped with Speck, Arugula, Scomorza Cheese, Balsamic Reduction, and Truffle oil. When it arrived, you can really feel the wonderful smell of truffles drawing you in. Definitely one of the yummiest dishes served the entire evening. A must try!
The Quattro Formaggi (Php 480), a pizza if Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, Parmesan, and Tallego, was also quite nice and would be perfect for cheese lovers. The flavor was elevated a bit by some added salt.
The Gnocchi (Php 390) was also quite smooth and flavorful. It's a dish I would definitely come back for. I really liked the smoothness of the potato paired with the gorgonzola cheese sauce.
The Mussel Frited "Mariniere" (Php 390) is another dish you should try. I liked the simplicity of the garlic-wine sauce that helped highlight the flavor of the Black Chilean Mussels (which are a bit more plump than the usual mussels you see in the Philippines).
The Slow-Braised LambShank (Php 775) was definitely the highlight of the evening. The dish was served with a delicious Mediterranian Couscous. I loved the way it was seasoned and cooked - absolutely perfect. A must-try dish indeed! No 'malangsa' taste from the lamb at all!
The Beef Bourguignon (Php 580) was nice. Loved the red wine sauce but it needed a bit more seasoning. Maybe more salt?
As for the other dishes, sadly, were a miss. The Classic Burger (Php 295) was very dry - probably the most dry burger I have ever eaten.
The Roasted Organic Chicken (Php 450) lacked flavor. It wasn't as moist as I would like, but a little bit more salt would go a lot way to elevate the taste.
Alchemy also has lunch specials priced at around 200 pesos each that you can try.

The first thing that caught my attention is the area called Solaris Oven. It houses a rustic oven which is used to cook their infamous wood-fired pizzas. The interiors of Alchemy Bistro Bar may strike as a haven for late night partying. But when we arrived around 4 in the afternoon, the place seems perfect for a laid back food trip or a random rendezvous. As a matter of fact, the guests behind us were having a business meeting at that time.
One of the staff members told us that aside from bands playing at night, there are certain days of the week when they hold some sort of dance classes. They are also open for reservations for special events.
Alchemy Bistro Bar has more seats at their second level. The al fresco setup somehow sets Alchemy Bistro Bar apart from the other bars in the city. Aside from its unique vibe, another “attraction” of this area is probably the DJ who plays nightly. Too bad we were too early to see it.
Amazing food (woodfire pizza is delicious!!!!), amazing service and definitely a must try when in makati!
I definitely recommend going in the evening, they usually have a live band playing :)
Alchemy Bistro Bar has their own delicious mix of European and Asian
dishes and a fine list of drinks to match. Located in Poblacion area in Makati, Alchemy Bistro Bar caters to people of all ages - from students to executives.
Alchemy has three areas: the bar area downstairs where bands also perform every night, the upstairs area
which is more laid-back, and the wood fire oven at the al fresco area, where you can watch their signature pizzas being made.
We had one of their bestselling bistro plates, the Baked Oysters.
The Baked Oysters has spinach, holladaise sauce and gruyere on top, and the biggest oysters I have seen. I honestly
don't eat oysters that much but I liked this so much I almost emptied the plate.
We also sampled one of their wood fired pizzas, the Pide or Turkish Pizza. Served on a leaf-shaped pizza crust, Pide is topped with lamb, Turkish spices, tomato, bell pepper and egg with a generous amount of mozzarella pizza. It has an interesting taste that could only be described as a cross between a lamb kebab and a pizza. Indeed a must-try in Alchemy.
We were also served a pasta dish I don't see regularly in other Italian restaurants, the Gnocchi.
This aromatic dish is potato gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce and pancetta served with an herb garlic bread. This
dish seriously means business, the pasta is chewy and delicious coated with the gorgonzola sauce.
For the main plates, we had the Beouf Bourguignon and the Slow-Braised Lamb Shank. The Beouf Bourguignon is US Certified Angus beef marinated in red wine and cognac, topped with glazed onions and lardon, and served with creamy pasta on the side. This dish is a clear winner -- the beef was quite tender with flavorful that we can't stop eating the dish.
The Slow-Braised Lamb Shank is New Zealand lamb shank slow-cooked for 42 hours and served with Mediterannean couscous. As Chef Tina explained, the slow-cooking process removed the gamey taste that people usually don't like when eating lamb. I was absolutely impressed by this amazing dish.
A visit to Alchemy wouldn't be complete without trying the drinks, otherwise known as the Potions. I had
one of the Alchemic Elixers, the Fiery Passion (Php 280) and the Strawberry Daiquiri (Php 260).
Served on their signature leaning cocktail glass, the Fiery Passion is a mix of gin infused with chili, basil, passion fruit and angustura bitters.
We also had one of their shooters, the Test Tube Rack (Php 350 for 12 shots).
The Test Tube Rack is a mix of four types of alcohol with other flavors, so if you're the adventurous type, this one's
for you.
Alchemy also served mocktails, such as the Cucumber Delight (Php 210), for the non-drinkers.
For dessert, we had the Warm Molten Chocolate Cake (Php 240).
Alchemy's version of the chocolate lava cake has this nutty edge to it, which I liked, but because of a heavy dinner, I could have appreciated a lighter dessert more.
I was utterly surprised that I haven't discovered a culinary spot such as Alchemy Bistro Bar earlier. I was blown
away by the dishes I have tried. The dishes are reasonably priced and good for sharing, and the ambiance is
beautiful. If you want delicious food and amazing drinks, you should go to Alchemy.
The crust of the Alchemy pizza plus the meat on top and sweet sauce nailed it! But I seriously don't like the leafy part of the pizza
The classy and peaceful place really do match their food. Hooray for Alchemy Bistro Bar :)
Shout out to Rhobe for introducing me this jaw dropping place :))
Tucked away in the neighborhood of Poblacion, Alchemy Bistro Bar (Food + Potions) has been serving up straightforward European meals since last year. Surprisingly, it has an extensive menu of not only wines and beers but also food served in generous and satisfying portions.
For appetizer, we shared a platter of Baked Oysters (PhP 350, 6 pieces) which I thought were really good. Beneath its crisp, browned surface, a buttery filling of spinach, Hollandaise sauce, and Gruyère cheese offered a delightful contrast to the oyster’s briny and meaty taste and texture.
Baked in the shell, the oysters were fresh and properly salty. It’s one of those entrees that taste so good that it’s hard to imagine anything tasting better.
Next, we were served with the Slow-braised Lamb Shank (PhP 775), a house specialty that’s been marinated and slowly braised for 42 hours. Wow! The tenderness of this New Zealand lamb shank was incredible. It was fall-apart soft off the bone.
Mediterranean couscous, sultanas, pine nuts, mint, carrots, and French beans added a gently sweet spice with a surprising depth. The accompanying sauce also lifted the flavor that went well with the lamb shank. However, in the end, we still thought that the lamb tasted too “mild” or bland for our liking.
Also marinated and cooked for more than 36 hours, the glistening Roasted Organic Chicken (PhP 450) was nice but not so rich. With a tea-like aroma, the taste of rosemary was evident and the flavor clung to every bite. Paired with rice pilaf vegetables and chicken jus, this chicken dish was both earthy and succulent.
The Alchemy Pizza (PhP 450) consisted of ingredients having distinct flavors that sadly overpowered more than complemented the others. The result of putting speck, balsamic reduction, truffle oil, Scamorza cheese, and arugula could be a hit or a miss according to one’s tasting preference.
What’s nice though was that it didn’t skimp on any of the toppings. I just did not appreciate the strong and salty flavor profile of the cured ham. It was worth a try nonetheless.
For desserts, we had the Crème Brûlée (PhP 210), a classic made with Fresh vanilla beans, and the Warm Molten Chocolate Cake (PhP 240), a soft-centered Belgian chocolate cake with chantilly cream on the side. Not too sweet and not too heavy, these treats were enjoyable.
For the most part, I loved how the simple and subtle flavors of vanilla bean and burnt caramel were highlighted in the crème brûlée.
Alchemy Bistro Bar offers a super long list of drinks, but what took our interest were the mocktails. Served in a sexy slanted glass, the Cucumber Delight (PhP 210) tasted okay and quite natural. It was made with a healthy blend of fresh cucumber, mint, and lime.
Louie ordered the Thirst Quencher (PhP 210) that was made with pineapple, orange, and ginger ale. In fairness, there’s a good balance of citrus notes and spiciness of ginger. It’s a drink recommended for serious ginger ale fanatics.
Alchemy is a perfect place to chill at.This is a cool place to sit down and have a few drinks, lunch or dinner with your friends, in my case, my friends! :D Alchemy's food was really good and the cocktails too.
What I didn't like though is a little foul smell in the upstairs bathroom but the rest - staff, ambience and music were conducive to a fun, and relaxing.
Place are cool!
Foods are good!
Drinks are great!
People are nice!
I love the ambiance of the restaurant. It's very relaxing and enjoyable to take a pictures and have fun! and we are definitely going back here with my friends.

For those who do not like to be in a crowded place, alchemy is perfect for you. Very friendly and accommodating staff.. The price I would say is affordable. I have seen posters of band schedules though I was not able to catch one. I rated it a 4 because they don't have parking area. We had to park almost a block away from the establishment. But over all, I enjoyed my night here. 👌👌👌
The iconic leaning cocktail glass nailed it. Tequila sunrise is tequila sunrise; it's the serving that differs. Match that with a candle-lit, cozy ambiance, and the great company of friends, and there you have it, a very relaxing and enjoyable evening.
The exterior and some foods are good. But alcohols and cocktails are so expensive. So many older people aroumd inside of the bar. Didnt enjoy with bonding.
Alchemy is a perfect place to chill at. Perfectly hidden within the streets of Burgos, makati ave in poblacion, this is a cool place to sit down and have a few drinks with your friends, in my case, my sisters! I loved their classic mojito. Not too sour, not too sweet! What I didn't like though is a little foul smell in the upstairs bathroom but the rest - staff, ambience and music were conducive to a fun, relaxing night!
Went there on a Friday evening by 10pm and was surprised to find the place just partly full I guess this is a testament to Manila having so many places to party now!
I've always loved the innovative cocktails that Alchemy serves. The Blue Moon and the Mai Tai cocktails we tried were superb.
I stuck to beer - had a couple of refreshing mugs of Stella Artois.
We did not try the food this time around - I do remember being quite impressed with their hummus and pizza on an earlier occasion.
The Gothic ambiance can be quite deceiving. Alchemy Bistrobar offers a wide variety of dishes to cater to different preferences. Their thin crust pizzas are a must try, my personal favorite being the Alchemy pizza--a wonderful medley of speck, scamorza cheese, balsamic reduction and truffle oil crowned with fresh arugula. The slow braised Australian lamb shanks are to die for! Its falling off the bone and melt in your mouth consistency achieved through 42 hours of cooking.
A glass (or two) of the strawberry daiquiris is always a great way to start (or end) the night. If you're up for some more drinking, try chilling at the rooftop.
Alchemy Bistrobar is a must-visit whether you are on a date or with friends. Don't forget to take a selfie beside the gargoyle. :)
Nice place with good food. I like their alchemy pizza and roasted chicken (plus the veggies). For the potato lovers, their gnocchi is a must-try. For their drinks, I think it's too pricey, not recommended for the heavy drinkers with a tight budget.
I love the ambiance and the food!!! must visit!!! I will surely go back!!! I love the pizza and pasta!!! Pkus the australian lamb shank!!!! worth every bucks!
