(Meat) Perfectly cooked. What's the point of eating at a steak place if the meat is not cooked to specifications. (Ordered beef and lamb) (Appetizer, other entree and dessert) good overall. Oysters are huge and fresh, scallops cooked to perfection. Truffled Mac and cheese is addictive. Portions of the sides are typical. (Service) very attentive. Clears plates when finished. Refills wine and drinks before glass is empty. Responds quickly when attention is called. (Restaurant is not full) (Wine) good selection but some might find it pricey (I think nothing below Php1,500). But then if you're spending for the steak what's a few more Php for a good wine. (Would have loved to have wine by the glass but I didn't ask if it has this option, which option is not indicated in the wine list) (Price) reasonable for the quality of meat and comparable to other similar restaurants in Metro Manila, but take note that food of this quality in Manila and specialty meat in particular are pricey. Overall, reminiscent of a good steak place in New York but with a wider variety of beef. Would definitely go back again after some (a lot of) exercise.

Superb place... my only concern is the parking. With very rude building guards .. you should anticipate the volume of cars coming to park at the resto and hopefully make provisions to valet your customers cars

Our favorite steak place in the Philippines. Both dry and wet-aged meats aged in their own aging room. Very high-quality meat, good menu and pretty decent wine. Equal to what you would find in the US or Europe.

🐽 Food: We order the USA Ribeye - dry aged 45 days. It came with two side dishes of our choice. It was juicy, yet I hope it was softer. We also ordered their delicious mushroom soup - which can actually be for 3 people.

🍹 Drinks: They have an extensive wine selection.

🍴Ambiance: It really felt like we were in a butcher place. I found it a bit too dark, but I guess that’s the aura they’re trying to achieve. Adding candles can make it feel more romantic.

👫 Service: Servers were friendly and knowledgeable.

💸 Price: It’s a bit pricey as expected for the quality of meat they serve. Portions are good for sharing though.

My husband and I loves Smiths!!! We even bring our friends here because we know that their steaks are the best! We ordered 6 kinds of steaks! And one of my favorite is the Sirloin from Ireland and the Snake river steak from US. Also the Japanese Matsusaka is a must try. But I still prefer the Sirloin steak from Ireland!! The Char grilled Norwegian Salmon with risotto is delish!

For a steak restaurant, I'd say this is better than most out there from the same price range. I've eaten here a few times, but have never seen the place packed with people, which is a shame. I think they serve really flavorful food at decent prices, given the ambiance and serving size. This is a great place to celebrate special occasions and not have to fear that you'll still be hungry at the end of the meal.

This place serves great steaks! Had tuna tartare for appetizer, ribeye dry-aged for main, dark chocolate cake for dessert, and some recommended cocktails for drinks. Overall, the expensive bill was worth it.

Value for money and great for spending special occasions! We ordered the following:

1) Double Reduction French Onion Soup - Tasty but found it a little too spicy. Also pretty watery.
2) 3 Day Wet Aged US Rib Eye - Steak was thick, tender, and juicy. Cooked in medium and it was just the right amount of flavor and wellness. The truffle sauce was also a great compliment!
3) Double King Henry Pork Chops - Thick and flavorful! Really good.
4) Sides: Mashed Potato and Buttered Carrots - Mashed potato was really well-mashed and smooth! Not too salty. Carrots were thinly and nicely cut.

For starters, we had the butternut squash soup. Pro tip: you can have it split into 2 bowls! Then for steak we had the USA wet aged and Ireland dry aged 45 days. They also gave a complimentary cheesecake for my birthday. Good quality and service overall.

Best steak in the Metro with the most choices whether by cut or by origin and the most generous serving of sides. Highly recommend the aged ribeye (45 days) and the foe gras. If you are a group of 4, the T-bone serving is enough for your group with the sides.

High quality and well-presented dishes made them to stand out. Though, serving time took too long 30-45mins..And, Price is really hefty..

Tried 2 main course dishes: 1) Lamb Rack [menu price not updated here - 1800 now], the food is good and the meat is succulent, though not the best as I expected.. Of course, we did not passby trying their famous steaks - had medium rare USA sirloin steak (organic, grass fed) - the serving is huge probably 12oz or even bigger.. it comes with 2 sides - haf creamy mashed potato and we upgrade the other to roasted bone marrow - everything is perfect, the tender steak and its very flavorful aroma.. the only mistake I had was to not try their aged meats (hate myself that time). and for the dessert was to try their tiramisu that comes with blue petals and wild strawberry and is also good.

Will try to have their aged steaks next time..

Looking for a place with excellent cuts of meat and amazing sides to compliment your meal? This is the place to be. Absolutely loved it here that we keep coming back. We loved the food, fav is the brocolini but you can go wrong with their meat, they do meat so well and my fav has been the dry aged meat. Excellent food and desserts.high recommended place

Once we arrived for dinner, we were greeted by a parking lot. Something that is usually absent from most makati based restaurants. This was a pleasant surprise. Coming over, I didn’t have any expectations. The ambiance of the dimly lit ceiling, and modern furniture of wood, metal and steel, it surprisingly comfortable. Once you enter you will see there is a bar to your right side as well as their steak museum to the far back and their cheese selection.

Best meal I have had in Manila. Quality almost par with top Melbourne restaurants. The only let down was the cheese plate which was miserable. Great vale on an international cos basis albeit pricey on a local basis. Also loved bar...comfy with great cocktails.

Was excited to try out this place as I've heard so much about it. Got the snake river wagyu - it was good but nothing exceptional. I think I enjoyed the Hokkaido scallops more than the meat.

- they only have 3 slots for free parking within the compound and the nearby paid parking spaces close at dinner time. I had to walk in my heels for some distance

While passing dela Costa St. in Makati, we saw this restaurant with a nice Facade. We've seen in other lists that this is a must try for steak lovers so we decided to indulge. We ordered their ribeye (single order). This was already enough for me and my wife. As for the steak, it was tender and seasoned well. It had the right amount of saltiness and was cooked to our liking. Together with this, we ordered their sides which included their mashed potatoes, truffled mac and cheese and grilled veggies. We also asked for their black truffle sauce. I especially like this sauce when placed over the mashed potato. Overall, we loved the experience. Good food, great ambience and great service.

Great ambiance and attentive staff.  I was impressed with the salt variety too!  Very good quality steaks.  What surprised me is the cheesecake... unexpectably the best cheesecake Ive had in Manila.

Delicious meal, attentive service. Everything was great except the coffee. We had the butternut squash soup to start. The US tenderloin with black truffle & wild mushroom sauce with mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, black truffle mac'n'cheese, lyonnaise potatoes & caramelised onions. The steak was amazing and the serving for two was very filling. We enjoyed the baked Alaska for dessert. A very memorable meal.

I would have rated it 5 if not for their air conditioning system . Went there on. A Sunday the place was almost full, though busy waiters were very attentive , service is primpt. Ambiance is warm and cozy food is great . They should fix the aircon so you don't sweat while eating. Will definitely go back

Ok. I have made finding the best steak in the metro my mission in life. I've had pretty good steaks that are hard to beat, bit this place is now in my top 3. I started my meal with french onion soup. Fantastic. My wife and daughter had a caesar's salad. Though it didn't bring me back to that childhood salad i had, it wasn't bad. A bit too heavy on the olive oil though. I had the 3 day wet aged rib eye. It was cooked to perfection. The fries, steak rice, mac and cheese and creamed spinach were done very well. The sauces left me torn. We had black truffle sauce and pepper sauce. They both left me confused as the meat was very good on it's own, but the sauces were both equally good. We had the mousse for dessert. It was ok. I'm not much of a dessert person.

My only negative comment, why do we have to order bread?

I will be back to try their 45 day dry aged steak so i can compare it with the steakhouse that reigns supreme so far.

I had the french filet mignon with caramelized onions, grilled vegetables and asparagus. I would actually go as far as to say it's among of the best i had in Makati. I forgot with what sauce it came, but with a good steak I usually ignore the sauce .

Interior is quite good, only these cow skin sofas and cow heads on the wall seem a bit silly and out of place (or might be just art). They have an area with glass walls where they store/prepare their meets which looks quite nice.

Service was fast and paid attention.

Went here on Tuesday evening after we made a reservation earlier that evening. Well furnished place with 'cow-hide' sofas. Service is attentive and quick.

I started with a glass of Chianti while my partner had a Bison Sour cocktail. We got the bread tray (for Php 99) - can't understand why it's not complimentary considering we're about to shell out a lot on the steaks. I tried their warm spinach salad with wild mesclun, pickled beets and goat cheese. Quite good. We also had the French Onion Soup - tasty and a different take from the fully covered soup bowl we get elsewhere.

For the steaks, I got the Japanese matsusaka Ribeye. Excellent mouth feel and taste, nice marbled effect. But I got a fair amount of gristle which I did not expect from such an expensive steak. I got it with black truffle sauce although the steak really didn't need sauce. The creamed spinach side was excellent.

My partner got an excellent Fillet Mignon tenderloin from Charolais, France. It came with green peppercorn sauce and a side of fries with cheese. Close to the best Fillet Mignon we've had.

The desserts - cheesecake and mousse - were small but delicious.

Excellent meal wothy of a 5 rating except for the gristle in my steak.

I always pass by this dela costa and not even noticed this place and then i was informed that team dinner will be here. We ordered the around the world 5 cuts of steak and all of them was so good even without dip. The appetizer kilawin is also good no lansa others just ok. The chesse cake is heavily good. Their choice of wine is also good.

Graduation, steak. Anniversary, steak. Birthday, steak. It's customary to have steak for special occasions...which makes it boring after awhile. I got used to eating at Mario's because it's my dads favorite. Later on in life I discovered Mamou's which invigorated my taste for red meat. Then Cru opened. More expensive, tastier. I'm no steak lover but from what I've had so far, Smith takes the cake. We had the USA Entrecote Rib Eye (not pictured here). It had an amazing sear with the meat nice and medium-rare. Ambiance is good enough for the occasions listed above. 10/10 would have this for any and all occasions, even if it's just 'Wednesday'.

Concealed behind a parking lot with no signage, Smith Butcher and Grill Room is truly a hidden gem. Places disguised and cloaked are becoming quite a thing now and I must admit, I love it for that. Forgive the lola in me but I enjoy down time in peace and quiet. For the food, dont miss having their A Little Cheeky (slow cooked veal cheeks with mushrooms and wild spinach, stewed in shiraz) and Irish Sirloin Steak (enjoy it medium rare with all its juicy glory). Will surely be back to try out other dishes!

Smith Butcher and Grill Room is one of the most unique restaurants found in Makati. For one, it's the only restaurant that welcomes customers with a bar up front. Anyone looking for a drink after work won't have a hard time maneuvering the restaurant for the bar. Patriots will be delighted to see bartenders mixing their drinks.

They offer staple drinks like Manhattan, Aperol Spritz and the like, and they also offer a few originals. If you don't feel drinking the ones listed, you can request their bartenders to make one you like.

They also offer beers, local and foreign, craft beers (research) that changes every week for a wide variety, Smith Sodas, originally concocted sodas, and regular sodas, Smith Juices, originally concocted, and sparkling water, all of which perfect for steaks, seafood, and other dishes offered.

Smith is unique that though they cook food, they also offer raw dishes. From beef to fishes, even oysters. Just remember though that eating raw is not for everyone.

The Smith Burger Story

What makes Smith Butcher and Grill Room unique from other burger places is that they take their meat seriously. Each of their meat dishes is especially hand cut and are cooked to each person's preference, and their burgers are no exception. The premium hand cut beef, nestled in between toasted artisanal bread, smothered in mature cheese, accompanied by sweet, caramelized onions, a large slice of tomato, and crunchy lettuce was the most delicious burger I have ever tasted. While most people who would eat their burger for the first time would think that it is under seasoned, it is actually seasoned just right to make the natural flavors of the burger stand out.

The artisanal bread, Smith Butcher's own creation, is toasted just right gives off the english muffin look and taste that completely complements the burger. Soft and yet crunchy after toasting, the bread is seasoned just enough that you can eat it separately and at the same time do not over power the burger when taken together.

The Smith Butcher and Grill Room version of fries is crispy, thick, yet soft to bite. The large fries, cut in perfect proportions is crispy on the outside yet soft and firm on the inside. It's lightly salted which, while others may find to bland, is actually perfect in taste as it brings out the potatoes' natural flavours.

Big Eye Tuna Poke (Raw)

Have you ever tasted tuna sashimi? Like raw, tuna slices, soft and delicious, served in most japanese restaurants? Well, Smith Butcher's Big Eye Tuna Poke is a nod in that direction. Served in a tall glass, covered with a dome shaped cover, what makes it beautiful to look at is the theatrics. Once opened, smoke will come out (it's safe) to make it look cool and mysterious.

The looks are beautiful and dramatic. The taste, absolutely wonderful. Thick pieces, take note, pieces and not slices, are served in a tall glass, drizzled in sweet, tangy sauce. Every piece of the tuna is thick, firm, yet soft to bite and even melts in your mouth! It melts in your mouth so fast you'll miss the delicious taste in a second. Even when I was savoring the taste, it was hard to dissect it, remember it, and jot down what you think about it. So I'm using, from what possible memory of the taste I have left, to describe it's deliciousness. Smith Butcher and Grill Room will truly make you come back for more.

With the unique, savory taste of every dish that Smith Butcher and Grill Room has to offer, it also comes with a great price. Each dish fetches a hefty price that would probably make your wallets cry but let me tell you, everything is worth it.

If you want to have a proper stake and a nice wine... This is the place in Manila. Might not be easy to find for a foreigner but uber can solve that (search for the name of the building no the restaurant) the decoration is great and food is wonderful. The smoke tartare, the meat, everything is delicious!

Php 4000 for a grade A and level 12 marbling ratio Matsusaka steak with asparagus and foie gras were to-die for! If budget is tight, you can share a plate of that steak and order a risotto meal to augment the serving. The venue mimics the Smith butcher place in the UK and you can even buy your steak and cheese to prepare your own version at home. Place the order at the start of the week and pick up the meat on Friday, upon arrival from Japan.

Top notch. What a find in Salcedo Village. Look past the construction sites that surround this place because the food and ambience is stunning. We sat up at the bar for pre-dinner drinks and oysters. For dinner we moved to a booth. Fillet mignon was one of the best steaks we have had in Makati. My photo doesn't do it justice. And this was the first place I've been to that offered you a choice of steak-knives! Great wine and cheese selections and cocktails, "that's the one" is a must try. Service was flawless. We have to come back for the cheese and sticky and that trio of chocolate dessert!!

Smith, a premium steakhouse with imported quality meats and a foreign head chef, serves one of the really high-tier steaks in the city of Manila. The interior is cozy, with their Western Ranch-meets-Modern Sleekness for interior design.

Their best-seller? The Matsukasa Steak, with imported Japanese beef. The steak is so tender, only two slashes from my knife the slice is already cut. The steak is juicy and the flavor pops, EVEN WITHOUT the gravy. When it comes to these kinds of well-seasoned, well-cooked steak, don't smother the entire slab's flavor. But personally their grainy-French Mustard is the best compliment for this.

Although expectedly, premium comes with a price. This Matsukasa steak is Php 4,000.

I also had their French Onion soup, which was a delight and not too salty.

I'd recommend this restaurant for a special anniversary or gathering... or if you can spare some money.

I loved the interiors. It seems like a good place to have drinks and a long night with friends. It's pricey so I tend to be more critical about the food. I ordered the burger which was satisfactory. My husband and friends ordered the steak which they raved about afterwards. That seldom happens so good job Smith! This rating would have been a 4 but they didn't serve house water because they were still fixing their filters, we were told. I would come back with my family on a special occasion to have them try their steak. :)

I went to this place just a weeek before they opened, so things may not be at its full potential so this would be a mock review for the place. The location iof the place is inside Salcedo village the road just before buendia HV dela Costa. Typical makati parking and traffic which really doesnt suprise me. Two great wooden doors with glass walls looking through the streets and buildings, right infront of ateneo with no window blinds yet. In the heart of the place is the bar which is easily accessible to anyone dining here, the bar serves a good variety just like any bar would, with the exception of some craft beers on bottle and on tap (not yet ready when I was here), also found some really nice wine and Tito Vodka in the list which is really ++ :D. BTW this place also is like a semi-delicatessen with a variety of sausages, meat and cheese.

Eating: 
Cocktail menu is limited, unless you go specific at the bartender as for the food menu, it has steakhouse-like list and only serves dinner, for now. Sea menu is rounded up with lobster, oysters and king salmons; while the starters consist of salads and soups, chowder and the pumpkin soup. Tried the burger and had it welldone which I regret, with no juice or tenderness just the crispiness and big pound of beef, order it med-rare oreven the blue. 

The place itself isnt ready yet with bathrooms and other red meats in the deli. The bar is really nice, but kinda confusing with the steakhouse theme and a middle bar. Overall a great place for friday dinners and night outs

To add also great accomodation, glassware and utensils; I take my time checking these things aswell :3
