We went here last night for my birthday dinner. Hubby saw this place during one of his jogs and was curious ever since. The place was tastefully furnished and exuded a warm elegance. The waiters were attentive and always ready to give recommendations when asked. I really appreciated it when one of them pulled up a mini table where I can place the bouquet of roses hubby gave me, so helpful.
We had prawn scotch quail eggs for starters - highly recommended. Next we had pizza (buffallo mozzarella, tomato and oregano) and crispy soft shell crab. The pizza was fine but the soft shell crab with mint, cauliflower puree and apricot chutney were really yummy. Next we had the dry rubbed wagyu hanger steak and the blackbird burger. I have read good reviews before about this steak and I was not disappointed. I had it done medium rare and it was so soft and tasty . Hubby was not a fan of medium rare steaks but he loved it as well. The beans on the side were still crunchy and complemented the steak nicely. The burger was good though it was a bit too pricey for its size. We were quite full after the mains, so for dessert I just had a scoop of rhubarb crumble. I never had rhubarb before so I tried that one. It was served with a candle on it and a Happy Birthday greeting. It was a really sweet gesture.
Overall, we had a really superb experience. The ambience, the staff, and the food all deserve 5stars. We didn't have to wait long for our food, the atmosphere was intimate, and everyone was just really having a good time. We would definitely be back to try the other dishes and drinks.
The food is great, the location is nicely situated. Overall this is a perfect place to dine with an intimate group
Dined in 6times already and every visit is always a pleasure. Great staff and great food!
Love the selection of food & drinks, ambiance, and service! Truly commendable.

Excellent idea of adaptive reuse for the former Manila International Air Terminal! One of Manila's definitive landmarks and a must go place when in Makati.
5 stars for the ambiance, accommodating crew, and for the wagyu steak.
All I can say is, what an amazing place!!
I booked this place one month before our anniversary and they were very accomodating thru the phone and mentioned the guidelines during quarantine, and stuff like that.
On the day itself we were running a bit late and called ahead and they didn't mind and moved our reservation 30mins late. There were only a few people eating at the time because it's a Monday evening.
We ordered the Mushroom Capuccino, Tartufata Panini, which tasted really great! The truffle was not too powerful to overwhelm the mushroom and they blended together really well.
Lobster, sweet shrimp, fennel, chili, and tomato spaghetti. The lobster was really meaty and juicy and the flavors really mixed in well and tasted like a rich seafood pasta.
SRF Wagyu Hanger steak, Mustard and Tarragon Dressed fine beans, Thrice cooked chips and Bearnaise sauce. This is one of their best sellers and I ordered mine medium-rare. The knife easily slices through the Wagyu meat, the sauces perfectly compliment the meat as well. The fries that comes with it was really good too.
The ambience of the place was real nice, it was very modern of black and white color scheme which is real clean. The staff were really nice too.
Only downside is, it is a little bit overpriced with medium sized servings.
Will definitely come back again another time!
Ambience/Place: 5/5
Food: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Parking: 5/5
nothing was bad but nothing was particularly excellent/blew us away either.
Opened the year with a dinner in Blackbird. It is commonly categorized a date night spot with its romantic and elegant setting. The aviation theme is derived from Nielson Tower as it used to be the Manila International Air Terminal during the early days. They serve a top-notch menu combining asian and european food. Service is also apt that you actually get what you pay for. We went for pizza, pasta, steak, desserts and it exceeded my expectations.
Thank you very much for great time. We really liked the atmosphere. Foods were good and service was good too. We could not order main dish because our stomach got so full after soup. Red paste (I guess it’s made from dried tomato) served with homemade bread was very delicious. I will definitely go back.
Servers constantly checked in on us which shows good service. Food is great😍 flatiron steak 👍
The service is excellent, no question about it. Staff members are very well-trained, polite, attentive, and knows the history of the place. The food can be better, though. Tried the fish pie (their specialty) and it was just okay. The lobster pasta was okay as well (pasta was a bit undercooked). I really loved the grilled chicken, though, and the bread board. Servers give great recommendations for wine that goes well with food.
The lamb rendang tastes great! But hoped the serving is bigger considering the price. Their house blend iced tea is okay. Ice cream has big serving. But definitely recommends the lamb rendang!
We loved everything we ordered. Will definitely visit again 😍
We’ve decided to have dinner here the night before my brother’s wedding. Everything on this place is worth it. Food was delicious, ambiance was magical, excellent service. I apologize, I forgot the name of the dishes and champagne we’ve ordered. They are all great.
Came in with a VIP client that night and I couldn't help but think that the steak quality could be better and the dark chocolate cake could be less dry. Overall, the ambience saved the high average food.
The servers were absolutely nice, they’ve comped our appetizer because their kitchen was backed up and took a while for our mains to arrive. We both got their wagyu hanger steak paired with a nice red, absolutely worth the price. The interior and the whole vibes is just great, perfect for sit down dinners and intimate rendezvous.
Everything was great specially the dry rubbed wagyu and the lamb rendang however I least fancy the potato gnocchi with truffles. The truffle taste was great ofc, but as a whole it tasted powdery. Overall experience was great, staff was nice as well.
My boyfriend and I celebrated our third anniversary in this restaurant and it really marked our couple milestone because of the romantic candle-lit ambiance. We ordered the dry rubbed wagyu hanger steak (mine was in medium rare) and SRF wagyu flatiron (his was in medium well). Steak was tender and was really worth every penny, partnered with red wine.
The place was cozy and intimate, and really perfect for a date night.
Service was great and food was excellent! Been here a few times and they never disappoint. I love the feel of the restaurant as well, it doesn’t feel like you are in the middle of polluted Manila. Highly recommend!!
Finally tried out Blackbird with the beau and we loved everything: topnotch service, cozy ambience, and the food of course! We ordered prawn scotch eggs, lamb rendang, mussaman lamb shank, white chocolate panna cotta, cheesecake, and black pearl martini. ❤ Will definitely go back here
Blackbird!
Celebrated anniv here. Reservation was straightforward. Service of staff is the best part about Blackbird. Ambience is the great too. Food was above average but I’ve had better. Maybe I’ll try some of the other dishes next time.
Great for dessert and coffee/tea as well.
Highly recommended. 4 stars!

Love my first experience here. I went here on my birthday and the place, food and crew didn't disappoint.
The reviews are a great way to know which food to start with.
Review as of August 2019
Blackbird's charm is in transporting diners to a very cozy and secluded experience (and of course that's to be expected as it was made by the team behind popular restaurants like People's Palace and Sala)
It's usual guests are well-heeled tourists and business professionals and serves a tasty seafood bisque 👌🏻
Blackbird is one of those restaurants where you bring someone on a first date if you want to impress. The place is fancy and you can really relax. They have a very expansive menu but I do highly recommend the Asian dishes. The prawn scotch eggs were an absolute delight. You have the eat the whole thing and yes that includes the leaf. My favorite was the kerala fish curry. I love how the fish is so tender and the curry is very impressive. The pineapple chutney that comes with it is so good. It's one of the best dishes I've ever had. The nasi goreng with the chicken satay is also a good choice. The rice itself is so good and the chicken satay is quite succulent. The lamb rendang was very delicious too. All in all the dishes here are very, very good. ❤❤❤
Blackbird restaurant is recommended for its elegant environment, delicate food and good service. There is no better restaurant in Makati than Blackbird restaurant. I love it.
A relaxing place with great food and ambience. Food quality is consistent from the start. They have not changed their menu for long time though so hopefully they add some new items every now and then.
Blackbird brings an exciting dining destination to the historic Nielson Tower in the Ayala Triangle at the heart of Makati. Once the country's first commercial airport, the site has been lavishly redeveloped whilst maintaining the integrity of the original art deco design. Blackbird offers an ambiance and approach to service that focuses on the warmth of Filipino hospitality.
The stunning main oval dining room of Blackbird is filled with light during the day. The high ceilings and well-spaced tables and lightness to the room.
The evening brings with it a sense of elegance and glamour with the art deco features of the room highlighted with soft mood lighting, a dramatic spiral staircase leads guests to the cabin.
Their Alfresco dining space features an open wooden deck and a covered terrace at the rear of the building. Two bars and a spacious lounge area make this a great venue for a pre or post-dinner drink or a relaxed informal dinner.
A great place to meet for cocktails before dinner whether at the Eramosa Marble and brass bar or in the velvet-clad sofas and jewel-toned armchairs of the chic lounge.
The ambiance looks really fancy and elegant. At night, the restaurant dims the light. The food is good but I think they need to upgrade or make a new menu or add new ones from time to time, and a bit pricey.
It’s a very nice venue and interesting for the history of the place. The food is also good. However I feel like they must change or revise the menu from time to time. If it gets too old, people will get tired of it. The bar is nice! All in all tho, I love this place. Me and my friends regularly come and dine here.
Everything is just divine. The food, the place, the ambience, the wait staff. Every time I go here it always ends up being a great experience overall. I love Blackbird and will always recommend it to friends.
The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is okay with very generous servings. For a more romantic feel, the dining area inside is best. If hanging out with friends, they have good outdoor dining setting too.
Celebrated Mother’s Day dinner here and the service was great. Good food and ambiance! I particularly loved their Dry Rubbed Wagyu Hanger Steak and Truffle Oil Lasagna. Can’t wait to come back to try their brunch menu!

I am very lucky to get a chance to have dinner on Blackbird’s second floor. Very fancy place, perfect for dinner dates. My favorite is the prosciutto and melon, the contrast between salt and sweet was exquisite! I also tried their Afternoon Tea Sundae, this is great for some self-rewarding haha! Pretty huge if you’ll eat it by yourself, but very satisfying 👍🏻
This place defines the fine dine for me and hence stays as my top go to place with any business associate or colleagues around in Makati.
The food selection though brief is decent enough to cater for every taste and the drinks as well as the wine selection is amazing.
My recommendations:
Appetisers - scotch eggs, arcini and bread board
Mains - steaks, pizza, lamb randang, black bird burger
Dessert - Affogato
You won’t go wrong with this place - the setup and the service is all impeccable.
Do try to get the upper floor seating to enjoy the quite.
Best restaurant I’ve ever been to. Celebrated Valentine’s day here and everything was perfect. From ambiance, to service, to food. SUUUHHHHRRRAAAAPPP!
Will definitely go back!
The dishes were superb, the Scotch Eggs are a definite must-try, the wine listings impeccable, I may have found my favorite Riesling here. The personnel were all very accommodating and knowledgeable, and the overall ambiance, accompanied with the fascinating facade of the old International Airport--refined and relaxed. All the details and trimmings of a fine dining restaurant/experience without the haughty, rigid air of supercilious dining. Definitely a place I see myself going to for a relaxed Saturday evening dinner or Sunday lunch soon.
The ambience looks really fancy and elegant. At night, the restaurant dims the light. I ordered lamb rendang for my main. It was good. It comes with some crackers, egg, lamb, cucumber and basmati rice. I was able to try the roasted salmon and medium steak. i like the roasted salmon. I ordered the dark chocolate for my dessert. It was good. I must say that the ice cream blends well with the chocolate cake. I also tried the rosè red wine for my drinks.
The ambiance, service, food, everything were on point. My boyfriend had the Lamb Rendang while I had the Lobster Spaghetti. The latter was so good, I loved the large chunks of shrimp on it. He enjoyed his Lamb Rendang, too. Good thing we skipped the starters (but I'll gladly try them on our next visit) because by the time we finished our meals, we were already stuffed. Since we're not big fans of wine, we opted for the Blackbird Iced Tea. THE BURNT BUTTER AND VANILLA SEED ICE CREAM WAS THE BEST!!! It's big enough for two people and we both agreed that it's the best sundae we've ever had. Super worth it for the price! I suggest you dine here at around 5 pm while there's still light outside if you'd like to take good photos (and to avoid the crowd) then watch as they dim the lights at around 6 pm for a more romantic vibe.
Nice place for dinning, service good and the ambience also nice. I tried their Mushroom Arancini, it's delicious 😋. But the branzino fish taste not too special. Overall, worth to tried this restaurant.
Blackbird restaurant is nestled on the busy street of Makati Avenue and leans back on the remaining greenery in Makati, the Ayala Triangle. The structure used to be a control tower which was once part of the Nielson Airport before it was sequestered during the Japanese occupation. It eventually evolved into a police headquarters, then an office for Ayala properties, then a restaurant, then the Filipinas Heritage Library and now, back to being a restaurant. Imagine the rich history this place has gone through. It made me wonder what stories transpired within these walls.
Proceeding to my gastronomic journey, we took off one afternoon for this destination when a friend had a hankering for wine and steak. I haven't tried the place, so I agreed to have lunch here.
The place was rather elegant. Truly first class. The entrance brings you to a hall that leads you to a spacious and pristine dining area. I saw a sea of black with men in suits and women in their corporate attire. It felt like an executive lounge although there were foreigners casually dressed who seemed to enjoy the fine meals as well.
We were given a menu and my friend immediately went for the Wagyu steak, and she opted it to be cooked medium rare. I on the otherhand went for the Grilled Prawns with Spring Onion Roti. We also had some soup, and I went for the Shrimp Bisque (seafood all the way for me) while my companion had the Truffle soup with bread. For the salad, we had the Crabcake salad which was quite filling. The names of these dishes were enough to make me salivate, and once I tasted it, I dozed into a reverie of heavenly flavors waltzing elegantly on my taste buds. It was truly wonderful, a one-of-a-kind afternoon delight.
My friend had me try the steak by cutting a few pieces. It was cooked just right. It was very tender. It was served with french fries that was very crunchy, perhaps double-fried. A very good combination as the savory meat was balanced with a lightly flavored fried potato. And of course my meal was not going to be eclipsed by a macho piece of beef. I had 3 huge prawns on my plate, and it was grilled to perfection. By the time the 3rd prawn landed on my stomach, I was already very full. I had difficulty eating the roti, and it didn't seem interesting anymore after being filled up with all these food. The crabcakes were ok, not spectacular but it was good. The shrimp bisque wasn't so memorable but that bread with the truffle soup was rather good. It somehow overshadowed my shrimp bisque given I only had a tiny piece and a spoonful of the truffle soup.
I had a Chardonnay to go with my seafood meal, and my friend imbibed her Merlot. The Chardonnay was very clear, crisp, and smooth. It went very well with the taste of my buttery prawns.
The ambiance and service were excellent. The staff seem knowledgeable about their offerings and recommended some dishes. I was very happy with the experience. Although this was the first time I did not have room for dessert. Perhaps, I'll reserve that for another visit.
This place is really good for dates! Being here gave me all sorts of romantic vibes i needed to feel that right amount of kilig for the night ;)
We got - Sausage Pasta, Lobster Spaghetti, and Pork Iberico. Everything is so good and not overdone. I mean, each dish has its own highlights, nothing too much or out of the ordinary, which easily makes you figure out what to crave for in the future lol. Thank God their Earl Grey iced tea isn’t so sweet, too!
Service - REALLY REALLY FAST. Like it was served after 10-15 mins?
Ambience - romantic, but some tables are kinda near to each other. In some parts, everyone is just crammed and you can hear exactly what people from the other table are talking about.
Would want to go back for the next life celebrations!
A really romantic place to dine in ❤️ Food is great and the venue is amazing. My very good friend got married here too and it was indeed lovely & classy 🥂 Recommended for special occasion!
Very swanky and a great, intimate place for dates. I ordered their mushroom arancini and Iberico pork noodle salad, which were both delicious. The Wagyu hangar steak was also tender and cooked perfectly medium rare. Rather expensive, but would definitely go back here if I'm feeling a little celebratory.
Blackbird, located at the heart of the busy Ayala business district, offers a quiet and intimate place to dine and wine. The interiors are that of a modern, minimalist. As the food are pricey, you can only expect the food served at its best and with excellent service. We ordered SRF wagyu flatiron, Roast salmon, Mussaman lamb shank, Dry rub wagyu hanger steak and lobster spaghetti. Everything we ordered were plated tastefully. As expected, we were not disappointed as everything was delicious. Serving is just enough for 1 person. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, would recommend it for special occasions or intimate gatherings.
We had dinner here several times already since the place is just across the office. The ambience is good - it's private and very apt for lunch meetings or dinner dates. The outside space is also good. Food was great! I especially loved the Lamb Rendang and Potato Gratin. Also their Vanilla Ice Cream is worth going back to - that's why I always, always order this whenever I go there!
Had Christmas dinner with my family. It is one of my favourite restaurants because of the good location, good service, and delicious foods.
Especially fritter of squid and shrimp was so yummy. It is crispy.
Had dinner here just now. We got the mushroom cappuccino soup for starters. This rich soup was the perfect way to whet our appetites; just the right amount of flavor without being too filling. Main courses were the salmon plate and the portobello mushroom lasagna. These were not filling (although very satisfying), so we got a pizza to add to our meal. The dessert (white chocolate panna cotta with strawberry sorbet) was the best part. As my partner would say, it's the "good kind of sorcery".
The service was excellent: courteous, prompt, and very willing to assist us and our fellow diners with questions about the menu items. The ambiance was classy yet not overly formal, just right for a great date or a special family occasion.
One of the best places I have been to this year! The staff is very polite and approachable, the ambiance is superb (I definitely recommend this for a romantic date with your bae!) and the food is worth the price! :)
Food is good, but I found it expensive, considering that serving is a bit small. Would come back if I’m feelin’ like having a fancy day out 😛
I went here on an anniversary date with my long-time beau. Easy 5 stars for the romantic ambiance and the topnotch, super-attentive service. The perfect setting for a candle-light dinner for 2.
For starters, we had the fried shrimp and squid and the seafood bisque. For the mains, we had lobster spaghetti (we love seafood, obv.) and wagyu striploin with mushroom peppercorn sauce. For dessert, we had the burnt butter and vanilla seed ice cream sundae. It all sounds so good even as I'm typing this review, but I'd give the food merely 3 stars. Maybe I just had such high expectations of the food considering the beautiful ambiance, the level of service, and of course, because we're paying good money for it...but with every dish I ate, I kept waiting to be wowed. The dishes were good enough, but not great... and maybe, dare I say...... basic. 😬
Overall though, 4 stars seems about right all things considered.

Perfect ambience for date nights. I love their entree and most of all their desserts. One of my pricey go to place but it is totally worth it. From quality to the taste of their food and wine, superb!
Dim lights. Action.
The ambiance is straight out of a movie set. The apps and mains are good but the dessert are to die for.
Will surely come back for the sundae with butter and caramel coated popcorn and chunks of brownie (I don’t know what it’s called but it’s the bomb!)
Forgot to take photos of our food because it was my boyfriend and I’s last dinner before he flies back to the USA, and, I was in the moment. These were taken before we started eating.
My boyfriend had steak while I had pizza. We also had pumpkin soup which stuffed me. 😅
This is one of the best Fine Dining restaurants I have been to. The ambiance, staff, food, were more than great.
I would absolutely come back here.
For the quality & portions of the food and how topnotch their customer service is, this restaurant is very reasonably priced, worthy of 5 stars! Everything that me and my girlfriends ordered were delish! Even the the kind of salt they provide is of high quality. Our tab was right around 3.8k for a pizza, a dessert, 3 main courses and iced coffee for my friend. If you are around the Makati area and do not mind splurging a little, give yourself a treat and eat here!
Service: Upon entering we were greeted by the receptionist who was very polite. She assisted us to our seats right away. All the staff members we encountered were also very warm and welcoming. They were very attentive and helped us with our every request. 5/5
Food: We had the Prawn Scotch Eggs to start. This dish was very flavorful and it had different textures which I enjoyed. I just wish there was more of it because it was that good. We then had Wagyu Hanger Steak and the SRF Wagyu Flatiron Steak for our main. Both steaks were served at the requested doneness and were perfectly seasoned. The sides they came with were fine but the steaks really were the star of the dish. 5/5
I’ve been to this place twice and it never fails.
Food and drinks were excellent as always and service is great.
Can’t wait to be back and try the rest of their menu.
Celebrated my fiancée’s birthday here. Impressed with basically everything except the food serving.
Place - 5
Ambiance - 5

Food Taste - 4.5

Me and my fiance went here for dinner date. The ambiance is so perfect and I especially love the atmosphere and candle lit tables. It was so romantic and perfect place for date. We enjoyed their food as much as we enjoyed the place.
My fiance ordered dry rubbed wagyu steak and I ordered lobster spaghetti. We also ordered starters and I enjoyed my strawberry banana chia seed smoothie and paradise mojito!
September 9, 2018 Deckard, Puppycat and I had Sunday lunch with family. Though I only took pictures of my food, everyone definitely enjoyed their own orders. I didn't get a starter because I was planning to have dessert.
The following are what I had:
Lemon, cardamom, elederflower fizz - cool and refreshing. Tasted predominantly of lemon. For me and my plebeian palate (I'm not a food snob I'll eat anything anywhere) I'd say this is just soda water with slices of lemon which I could easily recreate at home. Now there were curious little black bits that tasted like pepper, my guess is it could be crushed cardamom seeds. Why did I order this? Hahhahaha I just liked the name and Cardamom is one one of my favorite characters in the Bee and Puppycat cartoon series.
Grilled Peppered tuna steak, warm potato and bacon salad, caper aioli - let's just say if this were a buffet I'd come back for this several times until they'll run out. I love it! I thought I wouldn't get full with the serving but it was actually just right. It may seem expensive but it's worth it. The tuna was resting on top of more potatoes that were cleverly enhanced by the bacon. The quality of the tuna is topnotch, pinkish fresh and firm. The aioli sauce was quite complementary to the fish. Perfectly cooked tuna too, seared on the outside but still rare on the inside. I also appreciate the rocket salad that had a citrusy dressing that's included in this dish.
And and and and and and.....
Burnt Butter and Vanilla seed ice cream, chocolate brownie, candied popcorn, salted caramel - Holy Cow! Eto na to! No need for me to say anything about it anymore, the name of the dessert itself is self explanatory. This was recommended to me by my cousin's husband. I guess he remembered that I like salted caramel. I'm a fan of sweet and salty all together whether they be in desserts or savory foods. There could be a big possibility that the next time I'm at Blackbird I'll just order 2 of this and call it a night! Yes, ganun ko sya na enjoy, to the highest level.
The kids all had hamburgers. Funny, cause they were sitting in one row and when the orders arrived it was like burger, burger, burger, burger (nagmukhang sosyal na Krusty Krab yun Blackbird) I doubt they even realize they're eating at a fancy place lol....Deckard had the vegetable lasagna. The others had bangers and mash, an omelette, crab cakes, chicken satay, fresh spring rolls and prawns. I also saw all the kids get this strawberry banana and chia seed smoothie.
This was a good lunch albeit we're already missing a few family members. But time moves ever forward so the feasting must go on. I miss them so much but I'm grateful for today.
Had our anniversary dinner at no other than Blackbird. Everything we ordered was perfect. The food, drinks, ambiance and service was exceptional. The steak was cook perfectly at medium rare and super tender. The fish was nice and flaky and the drinks complimented our dishes well. The perfect place for any special occasion.
Historically meaningful location that has done a superb job in capturing and encapsulating the significance and honoring the site with a tastefully designed, decorated and casual yet formal restaurant. The food was pleasing to the eye and fairly generous. The price points are still manageable and i would say they offer something for everyone. A pleasing place to eat and share good conversation.
Great service. Warm and responsive. Stayed outside which had more space than inside.
Not too expensive as i expected so plus there.
3 drinks 3 plates 1 dessert for 2 pax paid little over 4k not bad.
Tune poke very good
Flatiron steak excellent
Lamb rendang good but was sweet so was a bit surprised there.
Dark chocolate torte- burnt butter was good like salted caramel the torte like cake but would have been perfect if it was fudgy.
Also tried mojito and wine. Good selection.
Overall good place for date night. Will be back!
Fine Dining with the best service.
I was here just yesterday for a corporate dinner with one of our executives from Denver, CO. We were a large group with 18 pax or so. I was amazed by how quick they were able to serve the individual orders for such a huge group. The staff was really attentive to customers' needs. No need to wave your hand to get your glass to be refilled with water. The moment we have stepped in the front door, the doorman greeted us with his warm good evening on a cold rainy one. Highly recommended for intimate family events to corporate socials to a romantic date night. It will surely be worth your money. For starters we had- 1. prawn Scotch Eggs, Betel Leaves and coconut chili sambal, 2. homemade bread, grissini and lavoche with echire butter and red pesto 3.twice cooked beef short rib, sweet fish sauce, hot and sour salad. We were a group of 6 in the table and we all agreed that the appetizers of our choice were great.
I love steak so I chose the dry rubbed wagyu hanger steak, mustard butter and twice cooked chip. Steak with fries on the side if I may call it that way. You may also ask the staff about the chef's recommendation which is off the menu. For the dessert, they have great choices too. I chose the cheesecake.
Ambience is good and the interiors will definitely remind you about the history of the place. Good food. Love their medium well steak 😊 Flavorful king prawn and their crab cake was a surprise!
Yummy cheese cake and sundaes. Portion is quite small since it's a fine dining resto.
The truffle oil pasta is to die for! Really hit the right spot! Also loved the mozzarella with prosciutto salad, really nice combination. A little bit disappointed with the dry rubbed wagyu - it was good, but I expected more since it is one of the best sellers.
“Best moments happen when they are unplanned.” A perfect quote to describe our dining experience at Blackbird.
Me and my friends decided to have our dinner here. Upon entering the restaurant, a very accommodating staff welcomed and assisted us to a free table and took our orders. The menu is straightforward, so we didn’t have a hard time choosing what to order. My friends had SRF Wagyu Flatiron and Branzino Fillet while I had Roast Salmon. We added Lobster Spaghetti, Simple Leaf Salad Side, Twice Cooked Chips, Green Pea and Mint Soup and Burnt Butter and Vanilla Seed Ice Cream.
While waiting for our orders, we got busy admiring the ambience of the place. The serenity of the place makes it an ideal for romantic dates and wedding proposals. The interior is simply elegant, so you have your reason to dress up.
Orders arrived in short period of time. Overall, I don’t have bad comments with the food as everything exceeded our expectations.
The SRF Wagyu, Branzino and Salmon were cooked to perfection. They were tender and extra delicious. They were pricey, but the quality and taste of the food will justify the prices.
The Lobster Spaghetti was simply delicious. The lobster was of high quality and the pasta was in perfect texture.
Twice Cooked Chips or the fries, though we were expecting for chips, was good too. It was thickly cut and they just put less salt. A good starter while waiting for our mains.
Green Pea and Mint Soup was good. It was rich and flavorful. Though the serving was good for one only, it was good that we tried this one. A little goodness of greens. Delicious!
The Simple Leaf Salad was good. Though you can skip this one.
For dessert, you can never go wrong with Burnt Butter. This is good for sharing as it has 3 ice creams. This dessert is sinfully delicious! I love how the ingredients complement each other. Don’t miss this.
Overall, it was a great dining experience. We did enjoy our stay here. The Chef and staff were just awesome!
Highly recommended fine dining restaurant!
Been wanting to try this place for quite some time now, so I was really ecstatic that we were able to secure a table even if we called 2 days before the reservation date. Staff were attentive and friendly, I need not raise my hand when I want my water refilled or our plates removed. Ambiance is really romantic, I love the candles and the spiral staircase. I love everything about the place ~ the atomsphere is really chill and makes you want to stay and relax.
We asked for recommendations since it's our first time dining here.
We ordered salt and pepper squid and shrimp for appetizer ~ which reminded me of salt and pepper squid from Chinese restaurants. (Not so wow, maybe we should've ordered another appetizer) For main course, the waiter suggested their guinea fowl ~ which is a limited item, not in the menu, for last night. I love this! There's mushrooms, and creamy puree, vegetables and cheese. I can't even explain it, but everything works together when you have that perfect bite. The fowl is juicy, not dry, and the other elements balance the meat. We ordered the hanger steak, because that's one of the things people order here in Zomato, so we had to try. The dry rub is amazing! We asked for our meat to be medium, and it melts in your mouth. I love the side fries too! They are crispy and perfectly salted.
For dessert, we had sticky pudding with vanilla icecream which was divine! The sticky date pudding tasted like caramel bars which went really well with the icecream. I love this one! Would've ordered another dessert if I wasn't that full.
Too bad we went during liquor ban, and we weren't able to have some wine. We ordered the black bird iced tea instead which was okay. Tasted like regular iced tea. BUT, will definitely come back again when there's a special occasion. I expected our bill to reach around 6k, seeing how our tummies were full, and the food was great. Our bill came close to 4k which was okay for the food and ambiance. A bit pricey because it's a fine dining restaurant, but it was worth every penny, in my opinion.
*Actual rating: 4.5 due to the salt and pepper squid and iced tea which can skip.
Quite the place to go if you’re wanting a lush eve with all the trimmings!
Delicious food. Meal sizes were on the small side but it’s what you’d expect for ‘fine dining’.
Super attentive staff and an amazing outdoor area. Check the menu for prices - not a bad experience at al!👌🏻
Some bosses took me here for lunch. Such a posh place! I had lasagna, which was amazing! It was cheesy and truffle-y. For dessert, I had the cheesecake. A bite of the macadamia praline takes you to heaven. But there were only around 4 pieces of it though. I’m betting all the other food tastes great but I’m not sure I’ll be returning soon if no one treats me out lol.
Lovely place to dine! I have heard great things about their brunch. But instead I have been for lunch and also dinner. If it's not too humid in the evening, I suggest you eat dinner al fresco. The ambience is serene with candles and almost makes you feel like you are somewhere in California. For lunch, I sat inside and ordered the prawn cocktail open sandwich and chunky fries. I am not lying when I can honestly say hands down that they serve the best chunky cut fries in all of Manila!
The building and the interior itself is very pretty, with a cozy bar at the entrance. This used to be the first airport in Manila. So I love how it still has title connected to it.
Must come here if you are in Makati City.
Food was superb and very rich in flavor. We ordered Kerala Fish Curry and Protobello Mushroom Lasagna. We also ordered mojito and Red Wine (forgot which kind haha). Lastly, we had a scoop of burnt butter ice cream and it was very delicious. The ambiance and service were great as well. It’s definitely perfect for romantic dates or even intimate gatherings with friends or family.
Food isn’t as impeccable for its price, but what i like about this restaurant is their customer service. Nice people makes dining experience more appetizing. And oh...the place is really romantic.
