Kuya J restaurant a Filipino cuisine but the way they cooked those foods so flavorful and unique. Kuya J kare kare version was so awesome the ingredients were typical kare kare but on how it was tasted mas masarap at malinamnam. One of the famous desserts here their kuya j ube halo halo their version very unique and not a typical halo halo. The Ice cream was mixed on the ice so it was resulted to more creamier ube , a must try when you visit any kuya j restaurant , there was a time sold out to. Ordered too kuya j roasted chicken and vegetables.

Food was ok. We ordered crispy pata, sizzling gambas, bagnet kare kare, dynamite, sinigang na bangus, grilled tuna, sisig, pancit canton and lechon kawali -- food was filling, but not that satisfying. Eat to be happy and full, not just full.

Good ambiance, clean and spacious. We arrive at the restaurant at 11.30am, we were not the first customers to arrive though, and there's no much people as well. We were accommodated accordingly. However, service staff were not that attentive enough for an opening shift (note that there were not much customers: 3 tables including us, not more than 10 pax) Service water was not given automatically. My father-in-law has to ask for it before it was given. The food was great! We had their Calamares, Crispy Pata, Chapsuey, garlic rice, pineapple shake and mango shake. I love their calamari with garlic mayo and their atchara. I even asked for another scoop of their atchara. Not really a fan of their magazine-like-menu though. So much texts going on, people come there to check at the menu, order food, and eat, not to read the articles or whatever. Overall experience was good. I will definitely try other items next time.
Waited for my parents to finish watching Kong: Skull Island. Surprisingly, they enjoyed every minute of it, in part because their film viewings of late are free (senior priviledges). They rather wait for the senior days than watching over the crowded weekends. They insisted on trying out Kuya J's latest summer offering, the Ube Halo Halo. Nothing different from their Milky Halo Halo, still has the same 'sahog', silky leche flan on top and crushed corn flakes. This time, ice is made of coconut milk and ube! So creamy and decadent. For only 109pesos this is good to share! We love it. Recommended.
I've been here with some frieds. The place is good and the ambiance was ok. We ordered bulalo, grilled salmon and adobong kangkong. The salmon was a bit "malansa" and the skin was very hard, there's nothing special for the kangkong, the bulalo was good tho. Overall, the food is ok, but for it's price; not really worth it. We tried to order shake, but they said the blender was broken. Too bad.

Kuya J has the taste of traditional Filipino food with several twists that work. Their kare kare bagnet is flavored perfectly and the grilled stuffed pusit with bbq sauce is divine, but the grilled scallops with cheese has rhema perfect hint of smokey flavor.
Kuya J is added up to my most fave Filipino restaurants that serve delish Pinoy food. What I enjoyed from what we ordered? Everything! I love the sizzling pusit (especially its sauce), the Bagnet (!!!), and sinigang!!! Their mango shake is also yummy and fresh! I will recommend this for those who are finding yummy pinoy food with affordable prices.
Went here: April 20, 2016
Ordered kuya j's bulalo and sizzling sisig. Got curious that's why we tried to eat here. The service is good and the food is like the traditional Filipino taste. It's just that the serving is not worth the price.
We love their grilled scallops good balance of cheese and garlic. The crispy pata had crispy skin and juicy meat. Service was fast and friendly.
Sorry i was not able to take so many pictures because me and my friends were so hungry when we ate here...3pm for our lunch! Imagine! Anyways, i recommended this place to them and they loved it! Not too pricey...If you are craving for our native dishes...go here...it will not disappoint! Burp!
Ate here for dinner last Friday with the parentals. Ordered their grilled tuna belly and kare-kare. Both dishes were good and the servers were nice.
Love this one. Simple,no frills Pinoy resto serving favorite dishes from home. I recommend the Crispy Pata and Kare-Kare. My favorite is the baked scallops.
We arrived on a late afternoon so the crowd was not that many. Not sure if this gets packed but the place was spacious. It can definitely accommodate big groups in or outside of the resto.
When I first bit into their Chorizo Dinamitas, it wasn’t spicy at all. I really liked the flavor especially with the garlic mayo dip. A couple of bites later, my tongue was starting to tingle. I liked how the heat inched its way in! It made me appreciate its non-spicy taste at first before turning the heat on. Whew! That was one good appetizer.
I wasn’t a fan of their Kare-kare. It was lacking on the peanut flavor for me.
Boy was this a good one! Their Stuffed Grilled Squid with Barbecue Sauce was grilled well, and the flavor was just spot on. The sauce on it was just right. It didn’t overpower the dish, and still placed the highlight on the squid.
And this was indeed very deep fried! I had a little trouble chewing their Deep-fried Tuna Belly. It was very crunchy to the point that the tuna meat was almost gone.
Kinda like Gerry's Grill but the food's good. We tried their crispy pata and grilled scallops. We didn't get to take a picture of it because it was so good, we gobbled it up. The grilled scallops are too garlic-y and the serving's too few. :(
Went here for Sunday family lunch. We ordered Kare-kare - very creamy and nutty. I remember the traditional kare-kare. Sisig with egg - the waitress said it's kinda spicy, but for us it's not. Very crunchy tidbits of meats and generous serving. Relyeno talong - crispy and tasty. We also had 3 bowls of garlic rice. We were 4, to our surprise our total bill was only 1,100 pesos. We were expecting 2,000. The place is crowded. Maybe because it's new so people choose to dine here. For me, it's better than Barrio Fiesta.
Out of curiosity for their food we went to eat at their resto and ay yayay, sumptous food. Im not good at food porn but hey i must say their pinakbet is looove *:)
It feels like a place my family would have lunch at after Sunday Mass. It's spacious and homey. I like the lighting! Music is not too loud. Crew's friendly. Food looks and tastes great too! My only negative comment? There were a number of stuff not available. That's always a major turn off.
