The Shitake Truffle pasta is divine! Will definitely comeback for more 💖 I was actually expecting a lot from the Laksa, it was okay. Maybe I prefer thinner noodles and was looking for creamy/milky soup base.
Big servings! Better order the sisig comes with sambal rice 💯 The rice is good for 2 persons already. Service is nice, dined in during GCQ 👏🏻
Big servings and good food!❤
People who love good food, books, arts, and music will enjoy Buku Buku Kafe. They have hefty food servings good to share with family and friends which makes this place a great hangout. There are lots of books to read, there’s an acoustic guitar available which you can use while waiting for your orders.
Eat, chill, study, and play. A great place to eat out with friends or maybe do some reviewing. Buku Buku has a wide selection of food combos and coffee to satisfy your needs. They offer affordable prices and the taste is well worth the price!
Bonus points for the aesthetics of the place. It looks great from the outside and it just gets better inside. Also, if you like playing TRPG, it's a good place to hold a session.

2nd time here but 1st time to use Zomato Gold.. At first, we weren't sure if the kids will like it since what we ordered were indonesian cuisine, we were suprised that they liked it.. Wew, we were almost ready to order the typical chicken meal. Haha. Food was great (serving is big) and the customer service was awesome. Will definitely recommend this place..
Buku-buku Kafe is far more a restaurant than a cafe, with a quirky, industrial themed interior and incredible food and drinks. . Buku-buku means “many books”. You’ll be surprise by the books hanging from the ceiling that will draw you in. . Interior walls are cladded in corrugated panel with painted murals on them, frame photos of old Manila in black & white and wallpaper made with pages from old books.
We had nasi goreng, pad thai, beef rendang.
Over all good experience. Good for sharing un mga portions.
Super loved the beef rendangz. My dad na picky eater loved it. Simot pati sauce. The nasi in the nasi goreng was yum pero the chicken and pork satay was dry. Medj overcooked for my liking. The pad thai was good but nothing spectacular.
Their service was great too. Kasi party of 3 kami. And they server said that the nasi goreng and rendang came with rice na good for two. Obviously too much rice for us 3. So they suggested nlng to change the rice to mixed veggie.
Thought that was superb! And we had extra portion of veggie to munch on.
Happy and super busog!
Brings me back to my school days where passing Math exams, finishing a long overdue project and getting rid of my pimples are my huge problems. Lol #nostalgia #bringmeback
A version of Maginhawa's Sev's where open mic happens, its refreshing to see a piece of Diliman in the South. Panalo! They also host exhibits, events and workshops of different kinds, you may call them for venue availability and future engagements.
Asian fusion - with a lot of twists! This is how I will describe @bukubukukafe 's menu. The flavors from different Southeast Asian countries rolled into one is something interesting to explore-- their specialties and best sellers are the best, two thumbs up 👍👍! Especially their 3-way (tofu, tuna and pork) Sisig, Malunggay Pesto and their
version of Laksa (curry and spices are just enough to give that right kick plus all the add-ons that made it a really filling option), in a huge bowl! Mouthful! 🍜😱

Honestly, when in SM Southmall it is hard not to miss Buku-Buku Cafe. From frontage to interiors, the overall vibe of the cafe is super inviting... especially to young artists. The creativity of the place is overflowing, sobrang energy boosting.
Good thing their food matches the top class faćade. They have asian cuisine with a western twist. They have the nostalgic food choices like Laksa, Sisig Nachos, Pesto pasta etc, which I’m sure you would enjoy.
My top faves where the Sisig Nachos, super generous serving and the mixture of cheese and sisig is the best! It’s good for 2-3pax (barkada size) but I’m sure one is enough (haha jk).
Their Tjree-way sisig is an eye-catcher as well. It is a combination of pork, tofu and fish, place on a sizzling plate, with egg in the middle. Owner recommends we add kalamansi to boost the flavor.
For the drinks, I had their mocha float - coffee with tablea chocolate, and whip cream on top. It has a bittersweet taste at first, but once the whip cream sips through, the sweetness arises.
Oh, their water is super cute. They have this ombre glass mug, that makes their water looks so fancy ❤️
Would give 5 stars but the serving time is SOOOOO LOOOONG :( Don’t eat here when you’re already starving. My go to is beef rendang ❤️ Food is amazing!
The book cafe with a twist! They offer unique filipino food, delicious vegetarian friendly meals, and also they have Filipino favorite drink mix like lambanog.
The food was delicious from the appetizer up to the dessert. If your looking for a good place to stay and just relax and enjoy the mood. Order some food and drinks at buku buku kafe.
Huge serving for the price ❤❤
Salad of the week-the ranch dressing tastes like lady's choice sandwich spread 😥
3-way sisig is ❤
Skewers-a bit dry but the meat is tender
Fried chicken-👍 but for me it doesn't match with the tamarind sauce.
I love the rice!❤
They forgot to serve the malunggay pasta, but we just had it for take away coz' we're so full already😂
I'd still come back here for more & try other dishes.
Loved the place. One of our favorite restos in Southmall.
Their food is awesome and had so much play in flavor. Their concept of southeast asian fusion is something cool to explore.
The staff are friendly and warm. Good service. Although they missed to cook and serve one of our food order (pasta). Which in the end we just had it to-go.
Used 2 zomato gold memberships for a 2+2 food perk. Our total bill should go around P1600 but we were only charged P1009! What a deal!
Tried this restaurant because my boyfriend said the reviews are great.
We arrived at the resto and I was amazed by the ambiance.
They had books hanging on the ceiling and some vintage photographs on the sides wall. Another wall ther was a mural of some kind. The creativity on the restaurant was very well display.
Vegan quesadilla- it was actually a new taste for me. Never a vegan and I think I will never be. I liked the salsa and I guess if you are indeed a vegan you will like this.
Three-way sisig- I loved the dish. Individually the taste is just as it is but when you blend iton the sambal rice. There is a blend on the taste that makes you eat more.
Verdict: Impressive ambience. Good food.
As always very accomodating yung staff nila. Plus masasarap yung food. Yung own version nila ng bah mi masarap pati yung mga pasta nila. Sa dessert fave ko yung brownies nila.
I love it, i love it,unique, relaxing, warehouse type, comfy ambiance. I like the industrial setting. My husband and I had Nasi Goreng and Laksa. Good food.

We really love asian food, and this restaurant really a best find. Good food and reasonable price. Will always come back here. We ordered the laksa, Curry is not over powering and the streetfood on it really taste good, nasi goreng is always our choice, and we tried the skin tacos, like heaven. Something new but addicting since we live chicken skin a new twist. Will surely try new food on our next visit.
Buku-Buku Cafe is the text book definition of an Instagram worthy cafe’. If “Instagrammable” was an actual word in the English dictionary, a picture of this cafe would be right there beside the definition. The theme of the cafe design is a segmentation of of past, present and future art. The interiors (look up to the ceiling) are lined with the owner’s memorabilia, mostly old books, hence the name of the establishment.
Enough about the visuals, what caught my interest is that beneath the chic and artsy feel of the establishment is a menu packed with Asian heirloom dishes drizzled with delightful twists. Among the lot of clear favorites are:
1.) Chicken Skin Nacho Bowl with Sriracha Mayo Sauce. Nowadays any dish smothered with sriracha sauce is considered bold and experimental. This one though is comfort food on steroids (sriracha). Rhe Deep fried chicken skin is a home run for me no matter who’s batting. The sriracha just makes it more balanced and less overwhelming. The sauce will literally get you to finish the rich and sinful bowl.
2.) Three way sisig (Tofu, Tuna and Pork) - This is a sampler for a culinary diverse click, a portion for the vegan, pescatarian and of course the carnivore. A noteworthy sampler appetizer.
3.) Sinigang na baka sa Gata - Somethings aren’t supposed to work and go together, but there are times that they do. When they do it normally sweeps you off your feet. It’s fall off the bone melt in your mouth beef brisket stewed in tamarind and coconut milk. The tang of the tamarind hits a delicate balance with the richness of the coconut milk. The beef brisket rounds off the taste profiles, giving a salty and savory character to the stew. If the beef brisket doesn’t get you the coconut stew perhaps will (I will let you interpret this).
The trip remade my notion if the best place to dine in SM Southmall, before it was wrought by pedestrian confusion with the limited option, now there is a clear winner.
REDISCOVER Buku-Buku Kafe, your neighborhood cafe that offers more than just good coffee. Indulge in their vegan friendly, Asian and Filipino heirloom dishes. Buy and support local artisans by buying their books, pins, art pieces. Post your 'feels' on their community board. Marvel at the larger than life mural.
During my visit with Foodie friends we had the following best selling dishes. Menu: Lord Green- Malunggay cheese dip with kamote chips and toasted baguette slices. Good for sharing.
Chicken skin nacho bowl - generous bowl filled with crunchy, flavorful chicken skin. Made better with the hot tang of sriacha mayo sauce. The Vegan Quesadillas is a good alternative from having your usual beef or chicken, filled with mushroom. For pasta with had two, the Malunggay Salmon Pesto and Mushroom Truffle linguini. Good for sharing portions.
If you want to impress, order these two: Three Way Sisig: Tofu, Tuna and Pork Sisig! I've never seen a bigger sizzling plate than what they have here. Three big servings indeed! Just make sure to stir in that single egg equally. Sinigang na Baka sa Gata (Winner sa Sarap). The combination of the sour sinigang base with the creamy 'gata' or coconut milk is miraculous in its inception. The beef chunks are soft and tender. I love that they included winged beans into the mix. Makes it even more 'homey' in its feel. Recommended.
They are also on Zomato Gold! If you want to enjoy 1+1 on Food, use EBOY0443 to enjoy 20% discount on the sticker price.
....
It was a holiday and even at 1:30pm, the place was packed. A good sign in my opinion. Staff was quick to welcome us when we reached the entrance, there's a Kids play area in front of the restaurant so if your seated outside, the noise level can get too loud. The place has that outdoor graffiti charm, books and magazines hanging from the ceiling. My initial order of Buku Burger was not available, so i settled for a Chicken Wings Rice Bowl and Pad Thai. The Noodles was savory, filled with Chicken and eggs. There was no shrimps, made me a bit sad. The Chicken Wings was really small but the sauce was flavorful and Spicy. It came with a Light ranch dressing. Service was friendly, nothing out of the extraordinary. Recommended.
Been wanting to try here also bcus the place is so cuteeeee but I have no one to dine here with! But luckily...
It's awesome when things and time moves in unexpected ways. Loljk
Since it's already lunch time and we still haven't eaten yet, I was shookt that they also serve full meals here (yep large meals that are good for sharing)! But before that, we first had some appetizers: Lord Green, Vegan Quesadillas, and Chicken Skin Nacho Bowl. I looooove the Lord Green, since it's composed of toasted buttered baguette and malunggay cheese dip! Spot on! The Vegan Quesadillas is an adventurous one too since I never had a quesadilla that is VEGAN in my whole life and it tasted so good, especially when you dip it to the mango chutney and salsa. The Chicken Skin Nacho Bowl is totally worth a fight, since it's chicken skin is so crunchyyy that makes your blood levels rise up to no occassion! Loljk but seriously, all are a 5 to me.
For the pastas & mains, we had the Malunggay Salmon Pesto, Shiitake Truffle, Three Way Sisig, and Sinigang na Baka sa Gata. The malunggay pesto tasted really greeny (healthy) and such esp with the salmon cuts, and very light; while the shiitake truffle didn't really have much of an impact to me. BUT! Their rice meals?!?!?!? The Three Way Sisig which has spicy pork, tuna, and tofu combined all in one sizzling plate with a bowl of sambal rice (that is good for 2-3 also) is highly addictive! Especially their Sinigang sa Gata with bagoong rice? New fave alert!
And what a great way to the end a fulfilling lunch with a Vanilla Affogato?! I don't drink or like the taste of coffee, but since the espresso shot is required to pour on the vanilla ice cream, then I gave it a "shot"! Never regretted it. I loooooved it.
The place and ambiance is so cozy, especially when dimmed. Every part of the resto has a story, like why the ceiling is full of books-- it's actually composed of books that the owner had since childhood up to her growing state.
Would love to come back soon with my fam or friends! And congrats Buku Buku for making it to my 5-star list! Lol (4th 5-star review out of 284 reviews)
"A room without books is like a body without a soul..."
But here at @buku.bukukafe, there is more soul and heart than you can ever imagine. You can feel the owners' passion with every nook and cranny, and yes, look up, even the ceiling, filled with books.
It's a nice quiet place for a mom to finish that novel, a relaxing corner for friends to just meet up and chat, a comforting table where one, or even a couple, can dine and gorge on a sumptuous feast, and a safe haven for book geeks, art enthusiasts, and musicians alike.
This is probably my first time for to rave about a place and its interiors. Definitely visiting again with my friends. The feels board is waiting for my hugot lines (and picture?!) too!
In fact, I still can't get over the taste of this Sinigang na Baka sa Gata from @buku.bukukafe.
The sinigang itself was the right level of sour and the addition of the coconut milk, albeit sounding wrong and unheard of, really worked! It made the sinigang sort of creamy and rich, yet still had the balanced level of sour tamarind goodness that's inviting. Paired with the salty blend of the bagoong rice, which had the nicest color of pink, it was a well-thought of combo indeed!
I keep playing with the thought of replicating the dish at home. Right now as I write this, I have this crazy smile on my face just remembering how good this sinigang was. Bring me on a date here, please? Let's finish this sinigang together! Hahaha
Aside from the Sinigang na Baka sa Gata, @buku.bukukafe serves a smorgasbord of Filipino favorites with a Southeast Asian twist.
There's a 3-way Sisig, a platter of your much loved Pork, Tuna and Tofu Sisig, complete with the spicy kick of chilis and a bright sunny egg, of course! Their Pork Sisig packs some heat and is very appetizing.
The Chicken Skin Nacho Bowl was also a crowd pleaser. Each morsel was crispy, flavorful and makes you want a spoonful of rice to go with each bite.
The Vegan Quesadillas makes you realize you can go vegan without sacrificing flavor. The mango chutney and salsa goes well with each bite and the vegan soya cheese shines through as well. The roasted malunggay and cheese dip called Lord Green was a pleasant surprise too!
They also have Malunggay Salmon Pesto and Shiitake Truffle pastas for those who want skme noodles instead. I suggest a little more cream on the Truffle pasta to make it more decadent. I hope they are also open to changing the type of pasta as well. Currently they are using linguine. :)
For dessert, we had a serving of their Hazelnut Affogato. Luscious hazelnut espresso slowly poured on vanilla ice cream makes for yummy treat that gives you the warm fuzzies inside. Hehehe
@buku.bukukafe and their food are simple yet pack a punch. Coupled with their banging interiors, this cafe is easily one of my South favorites from now on.

Had a quick lunch at Buku Buku Kafe yesterday! It's actually my first time to try their food aside from the usual coffee (which was my fave from their Dasma branch btw)
I love restos that actually doesn't give you thr vibe that you're inside the mall, it was quite a gastronomic x artsy foodie trip for me btw! 🖤
Here are my recos:
Lord Green -179
Fave part? The roasted malunggay cheese dip!
Chicken Skin Nacho Bowl – 225
Who doesn't love chicken skin? Loved that it's quite spicy too plus the bowl was edible too!
Vegan Quesadillas – 279
Vegans! Rejoice! This is for you! 👌 From the caramelized onions up to the soya cheese that was used!
Malunggay Salmon Pesto – 299
Another healthy option that you and your parents or friends can try!
Shiitake Truffle - 279
Loved that it's quite spicy because of the chili flaked plus the use of the shiitake mushrooms!
Three-way sisig- 399
Uy, eto talaga panalo! For the fam or the barkada, order this 3 way sisig with beer and you'll have a good day ahead! Plus, portion size is really good for sharing!
Sinigang na Baka sa Gata –
Probably my fave from the bunch! Had to get some home to so that my parents can try! Ang galing ng fusion ng usual sinigang with coconut oil plus the sigarilyas! You might think it won't work but it does! 👌
Hazelnut Affogato - 179
Aaaaand the mix of their best coffee plus vanilla ice cream! Mix of sweet and bitter! Pampagising!
I'll surely recommend buku buku to my friends and be back soon cause that malunggay cheese deep is superb! 🙌
The food was great, and so is the ambiance.
I would’ve rated this 5 stars, if not for the staff who are using swear words while chatting loudly with each other while there are customers.
Always passed by it but just tried it today when I saw that it had good ratings. The place was a bit cramped but the food was really good. Loved the hawker fried chicken and the Pad Thai. Artsy, chill vibe with really good food. Will definitely go back.
What an ambiance for such a cute Kafe! Liked the interior and the stuffs inside this hideaway! Most importantly the food served are really good. Fits my pinoy tastebud with a twist! Will definitely recommend to friends and bring my fam to dine!
Good food at affordable prices, unique concept and menu. Cozy ambience with books and art on sale. Always a great experience at Buku-Buku Kafe!
an 11 out of 5 for your food and crew!! a definite go to place for good ambience, good food and good people!! i’ll be back with family and friends!
We ate here "by accident", and all I can say is... WOW. We ordered I Love You Tofu, which is tofu "meatballs" in sweet and spicy sauce, Tofu Teriyaki, and Teh Tarik (Malaysian milk tea). First, the place and the food are VERY picture perfect. It looks like they also sell works by local artists. And the food was legit delicious, not just delicious, but /legit/ delicious. If this is what it means to be vegan/vegetarian, I won't hesitate to become one lol. The tofu "meat"balls really stood out, as the meatball itself was very tasty even without the sauce. I'm guessing that there's also mushroom, carrots, and some other chopped vegetables in the mix, which added to the texture and taste. Teh Tarik was also refreshing, has just the right amount of sweetness, and definitely feels healthier than normal milk tea.
Food: 5/5
Ambience: 5/5
🎉🎉
Tried out this place because they are a Zomato Gold partner. We ordered black pepper beef and nilagang pork ribs and it was good. The serving is also big so expect to be full after a meal. Their wifi is just slow and some waiters are hard to get their attention.
Wonderful ambiance, good food. Crispy mushroom rice is my favorite comfort food. We always get the crispy chow mien, says solo but its good for two. Lord of green is a must try kamote chips then some toast with cheesy dip/spread. Lots of desserts to choose from as well.
Took my baby here to celebrate her 4th month birthday but they didn’t have any food for dogs (but it’s okay) we weren’t allowed to have a table inside as well. The staff recommends good food! Worth the try
I’ve always loved eating here except for today. I ordered the chicken banmhi as it says on the menu that it uses chicken thigh but sadly it was breast fillet that they used which was not too tasty. The shiitake truffle pasta was good but could have used more shiitake. Presentation is always pretty though and the staff friendly and accommodating.
Went back today and thoroughly enjoyed their sinigang na baka and 3-way sisig as always. The chow mien was just ok, the sauce being a tad too sweet. Five stars this time!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Always a fan of this restaurant. They have unique “twists” to it’s dishes and it tastes good! We tried carbonara and salad of the week and only paid Php.265! (P.S. they don’t add service charge so be kind to the waiters, give them a little tip 😊)
Downside: they did not include Main Meals and Big Pastas in the 1+1 promo. But overall, we were satisfied with what we ordered. 👍🏻
Food was great.i ordered Chicken Melt Linguine. T'was very satisfying and flavorful. Akala ko nga at first konti lang servings but realized na malaki lang pala plate nila (lol). I almost could not finish my food sa sobrang busog.
4 stars because of the staffs. Okay naman approach nila and they were friendly. However, they were at the back of the resto or at the kitchen palagi and nagkwekwentuhan lang. It's okay naman to chat once in a while but not the whole time. Maybe because there were only few customers pero sana be mindful na lang.
Anyway, will still recommend this resto and will definitely come back in the future.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT IN SM SOUTHMALL. PERIOD.
Buku-buku has some of the most amazing dishes! I love their Black Pepper Beef, Sinigang na Baka sa Gata, Three-way Sisig and Pad Thai! I can go on but honestly, I loved all the dishes that I've tried from their menu.
I would probably vlog about my experience here so I suggest you subscribe to my youtube channel: Vladimir Figuracion
Main plates are not included in Zomato Gold. Ordered 1) Apple Slaw Salad 2) Palabok 3) Tamarind Glazed Tuna Steak 4) Three way Sisig 5) Hawker’s Fried Chicken. We love almost all especially the tuna. It was flavorful and cooked just right. Chicken was similar to Savory except the gravy. Sisig was spicy but good. However, noticed that there are more tofu that pork/tuna. Apple salad was refreshing to the palate. I recommend these four dishes except the Palabok. It was bland, sauce was runny and the pork topping gave my jaw a hard time. It would also be better if they cut the egg into flat slices. Overall, Buku Buku is sulit. 👍🏻
Buku-buku is definitely full of charm. The overall experience is a feast for the senses. The decor is unique and instagrammable. When we visited, we were lucky to have a live acoustic performance. The food was tasty and had large portions. I would definitely recommend for zomato gold users dahil sulit talaga especially with the 1+1. We got the pad thai and laksa. Pad thai was really delicious. It had just the right balance of sweetness and sourness. The laksa was just okay. It lacked that richness that most good laksas have. I understand this is their "own" take on the laksa, but nonetheless it should still have the fundamentals of what makes a great laksa. I would definitely return to try their other dishes and coffee.
Never have I ever tasted food so flavorful it made me feel a bit uneasy. So much of a good thing isn't quite perfect. I would recommend their 3-way sisig and bagnet. These also come with Java rice. So good... but nowhere near excellent.
Food was good specially the sisig and the pad thai noodles was tasty. The service was good. Ambiance was unique. Specially the door it was unique. Will come back for more
Food servings were big for our liking. Service was fast, food was delicious, employees were friendly and attentive. Really enjoyed our visit! 👌🏻❤️

Excellent interior and ambience. It is so cozy and the foods here have big servings! Never a chance that we walk out from here not feeling full.
Buku-Buku is such a pretty resto. I so love their interior. They have a wide selection in their menu. I liked their Pad Thai. It is so flavorful. At first it tasted salty but they are kind enough to change it. The Grilled Chicken Alfredo is also delicious. My children were able to finish it and they were asking for more. For the chicken wings, it was hot on the outside but freezing inside. I returned it and they cooked it again. They were apologetic about it. The vegetarian gyoza is also good. I'm so happy that they are serving vegetarian food.
The place was so cute! We played scrabble while we were waiting for our order.
Their food was okay. We got the kalderetang kambing, three sisig, and tofu teriyaki. We expected the kalderatang kambing to be the most tasy of them all because it was also the most expensive we got (P525 an order), but the three sisig all won our hearts! The three sisig originally had pork, tofu, and tuna but my mom asked if we can just have tofu and tuna and they were fine with it. It was a really big plate of sisig and it was so delish! The kalderatang kambing looked like it was just for one person and I think the spices were too much.
I also liked their sambal rice! It had a kick of spiciness which was just enough for me.
Honestly just love the food and the ambiance of Buku-Buku. Full of heart and the crew are always so nice to talk to. They give a different taste and take on their food too. They also have artist performances on some days which makes the resto really different from the usual "mall vibe".
Add: LOVE THEIR SOUTHEAST ASIAN FOOD MENU! Also their big plates are really overwhelming. Mabubusog ka talaga.
😋😋😋😋😋: Sinigang na baka sa gata. Sour, creamy, great for sharing. Comes with a bowl of bagoong rice good for 2.
😋😋😋: 3 way Sisig. A bit on the salty side but okay. Comes with sambal rice.
😋😋😋😋😋: Sambal rice with the right amount of spiciness 👌🏽
😋😋😋😋😋: Bagoong rice
😋😋😋😋😋: Barako mocha. No need to add sugar.
Food is great for the price. We ordered chicken mami, sweet and sour bagnet, chicken wings and Milo dinosaur. The serving was enough for each person and of course, the nice and cute interiors added a great touch of personality to the place! The only thing I don’t like about this cafe is they serve the food a bit slow.
Super reasonably priced (even without 1+1) comfort food-y place!!! Great laid back vibe (feels like a Maginhawa St establishment), which also sells cool local merch. If you're looking for a good weeknight dinner, artsy accessories, or reusable utensils, this is the right place.
One of my favorite restaurant. Love their interior design especially the books and lights on their ceiling, place was so spacious there's a second for more seats. The ambiance very homey and welcoming. Staff was so friendly and always there to ask if you need something. My super favorite here was their sisig nachos, very flavorful and the cheese. Crispy fried chicken wings, salad of the week, bacon sausage carbonara and milo dinosaur. They have wifi though sometimes slow connection was noticeable.
Love this cafe's concept, interiors, and ambiance! Dining here is a visual, feel good treat that's perfect for get-togethers and long conversations.
I love the interiors and feel of this place. They are selling nice art materials and books, they also have board games to play while waiting for your order, or you could just write a note to put on their walls. There are times that there would also be a band that would play here. As for their food, I loved their thai salad and beef rendang and the sinigang with gata.
Finally found a good sisig place. Their Three way sisig is delectable. I also like the ambiance of the place, very artsy and quiet. The staffs are very attentive and accommodating.
Loved the Crispy Thai Salad as well. Will definitely dropby again to try the other food on their menu.

The ambience was good. Food was also delish though the pasta that we ordered can be better.
The red velvet cupcake was relatively cheap but tiny. Overall, it's a nice place to drop by when going around in the mall makes you tired and hungry.
When boredom strikes and you just want to read books while eating so hell yeah! Best place for bookworms like me📔.
Ambiance is totally relaxing
Food was yummy and worth the price!
Good place to relax, read and eat!
Super loved the over-all interior of this restaurant cafe, everything is so Instagrammable! Even their plates, dining utensils, etc. Haha! Staff are friendly too.
We ordered:
Nasi Goreng - tastes yum, generous serving - can be shared by two adults.
Bacon and Sausage Carbonara - my kind of carbonara, just the right amount of creaminess and not that salty. Loved it.
We will definitely comeback to try other dishes!
I’ve been busy lately, and bombarded with both work and non-work stuff. And in that busyness, I neglect to do a lot of things one of which is this blog. As much as I try to keep my content fresh, I have a tendency to post late entries. So yeah, more late posts will come in the future. You have been warned. Haha.

A great place to bond with friends and family with their filipino-asian fushion food. Not to mention that the serving is hefty. The crew is very attentive and friendly. A great avenue to for gaming or just simply hanging out to have a good time. I was also fortunate to have met the owner and her children and it was a very humbling experience
Upon entry we were welcomed by someone whom we think is the owner. Then we decided to seat upstairs. Love the interiors, has this artsy chill vibe and the books are really pleasing to the eyes.
My original plan was to order their Laksa but when I discovered that it's spicy I change it to their very savory Pad Thai. Presentation was colorful and smells appetizing. Reminds me of Yakisoba but with bigger noodles, chicken, tofu, egg, and beansprouts. They have big servings for this and 2 persons could share. Also ordered Beef rendang which they said is good for two but one person could finish it. This one's also savory and spicy (almost taste like kare kare but different). For the Chicken wings, the breading was a bit thick and the meat is a bit dry but the lemon pepper dip helped. For desserts, we would like to try their deep fried oreo cheesecake but it isn't available as well as tge other desserts written on the menu. Asked for New York cheesecake, also not available, so we ended up having Chocolate cake instead. It was fine, moist and not too sweet.
Fairly priced. Good service.
The place has awesome-artsy backgrounds for your Instagram photos so that’s a plus. For the food, it’s too spicy (Buffalo wings) for our liking but we would give it another chance soon to try the other foods they offer. 🙂 I love the teh tahrik although the wait staff told me it’s just a powder milk tea… boo.
We also met the owner, I believe. She gave us a polite smile and she told us she hoped we had a good time. 🙂
The price for two is P700

Better not forget to order sisig nachos here. It is one of their best dishes. Whether you dine for a light snack or full meal this is the place for you. :)
Food: From what I ordered, the food here is a fusion of Filipino and Malaysian cuisine. Though I really dont like Malaysian, the combination was a match made in heaven. The Laksa was really good as it had elements of arroz caldo in it. Thrice cooked wings, Three way Sisig were also my favourites here. Definitely recommend giving this place a try!
Ambiance: It looked like a hipster bookshop where people recite poetry and all that. It just happens to serve good food.
Price: For the kind of food they serve, i think the food is fairly priced. The servings are really big, especially for the sisig. You’ll spend around 400 per person here on a normal meal.
Awesome food with very big portions - everything tastes so good here! Try their chicken alfredo, three way sisig and ube summer cooler! These won’t disappoint! :)
We tried buku buku kafe for the first time last night and the food was super yummy the meals were cooked perfectly and they used fresh ingridients and they give big portions too. The service was also great!
If you want some me time this is the perfect place for you. Ambience is lovely and peaceful, the food is also great. I ate there alone and i was shocked that the serving of the salad that i ordered is really huge! This will be my alone space from now on.
I've been encouraging my kids to slowly transition from being carnivores to vegetarians/vegans. Because of all the junk that they consume, healthy eating- even if done sporadically, and just a few dishes at a time- will do them good. So off to Buku -Buku Cafe we went for dinner last week. The interiors- impressive! The books, games, and trinkets for sale lent character to the place. The staff was friendly. Now, the food. We had Crispy Mushroom Rice- crispy shiitake mushrooms that taste so much like a cross between calamares and chicken popcorn; Sinigang na Baka sa Gata- WOW...just, wow; Vegan Quesadilla- caramelized onions, spinach & shiitake. They make
It taste like it has cheese, but really mild. Comes with a bowl of taro (or camote?) chips., Pepper Beef rice bowl- my kids loved this. For dessert- Deep Fried Vanilla Ice Cream- fried bread rolled around a scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with chocolate sauce and set on a bed of caramel sauce. It was an interesting experience, the Beef Sinigang sa Gata being the ultimate saving grace that merited a 4 rating.
Came to eat here for merienda. Very millennial ambiance instagram worthy! Good food with big servings. Love the chicken in alfredo pasta very crispy, but the pasta is a bit dry when its already cold. But definitely will come back here to try some from the menu....👍👍👍
I saw posts about Buku Buku Kafe in social media and I put this on my “to-try” list. I never had the chance to visit this place since it’s situated in the South. Good thing I happened to pass by this cafe in SM South Mall after attnding an event. Though I was kinda in a hurry, I took the chance visit Buku Buku. I fell in love with the place right away. The interiors are so nice. And the ambiance is cozy. They got friendly staff too. I only ordered a cup of Barako Mocha and a oiece of Espresso Brownie since I wasn’t that hungry. I loved the Latte Art! I really felt special upon seeing my order. It’s so nice that they really put effort in preparing their customer’s order. I also enjoyed the brownie. Espresso Brownie and Barako Mocha is a perfect pair!
I hope they put up another branch, like in BGC or Makati. I wanna try their meals too!
The food attendant was so gracious and very accommodating, not to mention the food are all gastronomic, the price is pocket friendly as well, and the ambiance has a homey feel to it! Love this place! ❤️❤️❤️
Friendly staff, nice decor, but the food could still improve. Ordered the palabok and there was no taste at all. The cakes and desserts are great tho. Would come back for sure
Industrial chic interiors, and an advocacy to share local artists. Buku Buku is a new addition to Food Street in Sm Southmall.
What we ordered:
Brewed Coffee
Very affordable for the quality of the coffee.
Bistek Cheese steak
Philly cheese steak reinvented. Thick slices of bread to envelope the tender pieces of beef. This even comes with a side of kamote chips and cheese dipping sauce. This is a great rendition to this classic sandwich.
Will definitely be back to try their other dishes.
I ordered Crispy Mushroom Rice (Php 99) for lunch. The serving looks deceptively small, but it's very generous, in fact. A bit too rich and oily for my liking, but the accompanying sauce (with a slight salted egg taste) helps to cut through the richness. Overall, it's like eating mushroom chips with rice, but just so much better.
For dessert, I got the Flat-top S'more brownie (Php 99), which is about as big and as thick as a smartphone. Surprisingly not too sweet, it has a burnt taste to it (thanks to the baked choc-nut pieces) which I oddly liked.
What sets this café apart from others is perhaps their industrial interiors mingled with hip street art and a little quaint book shop. Perfect for picture-taking alongside their excellent dishes.
I wish more people would come here, though!
I’m reviewing at the wrong place (been on their location @ Dasma, sadly this is the only place where I can review)
This I would say is one of my fave places to hangout. Their food and the ambiance are the things that Iove at Buku-buku. Also, they have these live arts and workshops, which I haven’t tried. Their exquisite menu is fantastic a bit different than most of the resto I’ve been to. I just died a little when I heard they closed their place @ The District. And I think Buku-buku deserve much more higher rating and love!
I ate at the SM Dasma Branch
For Drinks
We had nutty chocolate, lychee ice tea, Green Apple ice tea, cheerleader cocoa and iced blended caramel latte. I loved my caramel latte 😍
For appetizer
Sisig Nachos - this is yummy!
Siomai - greast taste
Lord Green - loved the dip
Mains
Pad thai - love the flavor
Bagnet and Chicaron Bulaklak - it was okay i would like more flavor in the bagnet
Tuna Belly - loved the mash potatoes with it
Dessert
Tiramisu cupcake and smores both of them were okay. But as i am a sweet tooth i was looking for something that was sweet and both of them werent.
Their servings are good for 3 people
Friendly staff
Great presentation
I love the ambience of this place. Great place to hang out with friends. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I love their Sisig and sweet and sour bagnet. The one thing I didn't like or or shall we say they can improve on is their serving time. We were the only customer at that time but it took more or less 25 mins for our food to be served.
We had a late lunch and this place is just perfect! The serving was big and good for sharing. We ordered seafood arrabiana and sisig nachos. We were so full after. Also, the ceiling and murals are so eye catching! I love every bit of our stay here 💖
From the interior of there restaurant was amazing until to the food.. big serving of foods.
*chicken Alfredo pasta was awesome
*crunchy thai salad
*mix soimai (pork and shrimp)
Thankyou eatigo 50% discount on all foods 😂😂😄😄😃😃
I've been wanting to visit this cafe for a while now because of how pretty it is. It is truly an Instagram-worthy place, and the lighting is very good for photos. I reserved a table on the second floor the day before, and we were immediately accommodated. Me and my friend got the whole second floor to ourselves, probably because there weren't that much people on a Thursday evening. We had a lot of fun taking pictures around the second floor. The bookshelves also had interesting titles. For some reason, I couldn't connect to their wi-fi even though I typed the correct password. Anyway, we ordered Ice Blended Latte in Caramel and Salted Mocha flavor. They use metal straws for this so great job! I loved the Salted Mocha, it's not too sweet and doesn't have a bad aftertaste. We also ordered the pork isaw fries, and for singles serving it's actually a lot already. I also claimed my free Tiramisu Cupcake, which was great on its own. I'm not a fan of cupcakes due to the frosting but I'd eat their Tiramisu Cupcake on any day. The staff were very accommodating and me and my companions had a lot of fun. I hope we can visit again soon! 💖
